Historically, banks were required to maintain a specified amount of cash on hand for customers to make a withdrawal (this amount was typically between 3% and 10% of the banks total deposits). The Federal Reserve did away with this requirement early in the pandemic, which means your bank does not have funds on hand to satisfy a large withdrawal on any given day. If you don’t trust your bank to have your cash on hand when needed, contact SafeBox as soon as possible.
