Last week marked three years since the events of January 6th transpired in our nation’s capitol in the wake of the 2020 Election.

The investigation, congressional hearings, and official narrative of the events of that day have created deep divisions amongst Americans. In fact, perspectives about what happened on January 6th fall somewhere in between a violent uprising to overthrow our government and an average, run-of-the-mill tour of the Capitol Building.

Like you, I have my opinions about January 6th. I also have unanswered questions – questions that need to be asked and answered in spite of the insistence of some that these things not even be discussed.

Whatever your opinion of January 6th, there is no denying that the fallout from that day’s events will have a major impact in 2024.

Mike Johnson, the recently-elected Speaker of the House, has vowed to make all of the previously unreleased footage available to the public. This provides significant context that has been withheld from Americans.

The United States Supreme Court has agreed to hear Donald Trump’s appeal of the Colorado Supreme Court’s 4-3 ruling that the former president is disqualified from running for public office because he violated the Fourteenth Amendment. Other states are making similar efforts.

Who knows what the days ahead will mean for President Trump’s inclusion on the ballot? All we know is that the Radical Left is fully implementing the Seinfeld-Newman Strategy: they’ll do whatever it takes, as long as it takes them, so long as it takes Trump away from The White House!

As further evidence of that reality, the first of four criminal trials for the former president is slated to begin in DC in a few months. In fact, it’s currently scheduled to begin the day before Super Tuesday, the single most consequential date on the primary calendar for presidential candidates.

Can anyone say, “election interference?”

Regardless of your opinions of January 6th, there is little doubt that it has been used as a political blunt-force instrument to hammer Americans into believing a narrative that is rife with questions and problems.

Think of all the things the Left has tried to convince us to believe about January 6th.

They’ve absurdly compared that day’s events to those of September 11th and Pearl Harbor.

How disingenuous can they be? There is nothing remotely comparable between these two days and January 6th.

The attacks on September 11th and at Pearl Harbor were acts of war intent on killing Americans.

Osama Bin Laden, the evil leader of Al-Qaeda, declared war on the United States in 1996. Their pathetic terrorists killed 2,977 Americans in a day of carnage firmly etched in the memory of Americans who witnessed those horrific events.

The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, killing 2,403 Americans – including 68 civilians. They formally declared war on the United States seven hours after launching the attacks. This was the catalyst that drew America into a two-front war against the Axis Powers and led to nearly 420,000 American deaths.

By contrast, five people died on January 6th at the US Capitol. Two had heart attacks. One reportedly died of an accidental overdose. One law enforcement officer died of a stroke. And one person, a protester named Ashli Babbit, was shot and killed by a law enforcement officer.

In the days following January 6, 2021, 4 law enforcement officers died of suicide.

All of this is incredibly tragic and sad. And it certainly should not have happened.

Acts of violence absolutely occurred that day – and those guilty of breaking the law should be held accountable.

The questions surrounding the events of the day should also be answered. Why did Capitol Police deploy tear gas on the crowd before they became violent? Why did law enforcement open gates and welcome people into the building? How many federal agents were embedded in the crowd that day? And what role did they play?

Claims that January 6th was an attempt to overthrow the federal government are absolutely absurd and ignore the real reason people flocked to the nation’s capitol that day.

You don’t have to agree with the assessment, but it is a fact that many Americans believe the 2020 Election was stolen from Donald J. Trump.

A government that cares about the consent of the governed will seek to maintain the trust of its citizens at all costs.

But that’s not what our government did in the wake of the 2020 Election, my friends. Instead, they questioned the patriotism and motives of those who had genuine questions about the election results.

And they played politics through the J6 Committee and a second Trump impeachment.

You deserve better, my friends.

And 2024 is your opportunity to ensure you get it.
