NFL WEEK 5 IS HERE, Y'ALL!!!

Let the byes begin.

We got back on track this week correctly guessing 10 games out of 16. There were not as many upsets in Week 4, but the most surprising win had to be the Broncos 10 to nine win over the New York Jets. The Broncos’ defense has finally found their groove the last two games allowing a total of 16 points. Wow! Consistent pressure on Rodgers, and a non-existent Jets run game, propelled the Broncos to their second straight win.

The Bills also getting blown out by the Ravens 35-10 was a huge shock. The Bills defense could not stop Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson, but who can!?!

The surprise team of the NFL, the Commanders, destroyed the Cardinals 42-14 and Jayden Daniels in my book, is the front-runner for MVP. He is completing 82.1% of his passes and has seven total touchdowns to one interception and his team is 3-1. Head coach, Dan Quinn, was considered not a great hire by most NFL pundits. And, adding Cardinals former head coach, Kliff Kingsbury, as the offensive coordinator has really shocked most NFL fans. The second biggest shock team, the Minnesota Vikings were up big early on the Packers, who stormed back only to lose 31-29. The Vikings defense finally wasn’t dominate. We shall see how the rest of the season plays out. Lastly, to see a quarterback not throw a single incompletion was impressive from Jared Goff.

He even caught a touchdown pass. Let us take a look at what Week 5 has in store for us:

Buccaneers @ Falcons (-1.5): Thurs. 6:15p – This will hopefully be a great game. In the primetime games, the league tries to make the matchups great, but we have seen some crazy scorelines. I like both of these teams; I think the Bucs are a little more complete up to this point. The Bucs have been together at least a year, whereas the Falcons have a ton of new players. I think the Buccaneers win 24-21

Jets @ Vikings (-2.5): Sun. 11:00a – The Vikings have been amazing. Sam Darnold is somehow an MVP candidate to start the season. Their defense has been unstoppable until the Packers almost came back last week. The Jets lost a bad game to the Broncos, and have struggled to find rhythm on offense. Rodgers has been given little to no time to get rid of the ball since the O-line hasn’t been playing together all but four games. Vikings win 24-17

Panthers @ Bears (-4): Sun. 11:00a – The Bears have struggled but have been able to come away with two wins, despite the lack of offense. Andy Dalton and Carolina can score points. They may not be a winning team, but they will compete in most games because of the “Red Rifle.” Caleb Williams should be doing better. Keenan Allen, D.J. Moore, Rome Odunze, and Deandre Swift should be more than enough to succeed. Their O-line has had issues, but that’s part of the growing process. You can’t be afforded everything as a rookie. Panthers win 23-17

Ravens (-2.5) @ Bengals: Sun. 11:00a – The Bengals, unfortunately, kind of stink. The Ravens are finding their consistency and are coming off a massive win over the Bills. Divisional matchups are always intense and gritty, so the game should be fun! But the Bengals defense hasn’t been great at getting off the field, and their offensive struggles in some games is worrisome. Tackling Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson is no easy task. Ravens win 27-20

Dolphins @ Patriots (-1): Sun. 11:00a –This will be one of the snooze games of the week. The Dolphins are a shell of themselves, and the Patriots are in a rebuild. Patriots win 20-14

Raiders @ Broncos (-3): Sun. 2:05p – Another low scoring game in this one. The Raiders just beat the Browns, but the Broncos beat the Jets. Purely off of recent results, I will take the Broncos. The Broncos’ defense is flying yet their offense still needs some work. The Raiders also might be without Davante Adams now, which even if he never catches a pass, he still requires double coverage if not your best corner on him (Patrick Surtain II). I will take Broncos 16-13

Cardinals @ 49ers (-7.5): Sun. 2:05p – The 49ers need to start winning games or their playoff hopes will be in the wind. The Cardinals looked great against the beat-up Rams, but have lost since that win. The 49ers also need to get healthy to compete, the Cardinals just don’t have the personnel to win most games. 49ers win 30-21

Packers (-3.5) @ Rams: Sun. 2:25p– The Packers almost came back against the 4-0 Minnesota Vikings, but fell short. With Jordan Love back I think the Packers are a playoff team. The NFC North is the best division, other than Chicago. The Rams are extremely injured, but still play solid football. With Sean McVay coaching the Rams have a chance to compete in every game. I like the Packers’ weapons, and defense to win this game 24-1

Giants @ Seahawks (-6): Sun. 2:25p – This is a must-win for the Seahawks after losing to the Lions in a barn burner of a game. If the Seahawks want to stay atop the NFC West, they need to keep beating teams they are better than. Their defense hasn’t fully bloomed, but their offense looks explosive already. The Giants are a one-man team with Malik Nabers, unfortunately. Seahawks win 31-20

Cowboys @ Steelers (-2.5): Sun. 6:20p – What a matchup this will be. The 2-2 Cowboys will keep playing playoff contender for weeks. Without Demarcus Lawerence, Micah Parsons, and Brandin Cooks this team needs wins. The Cowboys should go and trade for Davante Adams immediately to give them a chance at the playoffs. The Steelers defense may be the best in the league, and their offense doesn’t turn the ball over. They are a well-oiled machine that wins close ball games other than last week. The Cowboys can’t stop the run or pass it seems. Steelers win 21-16

Saints @ Chiefs (-5): Mon. 6:15p – The Chiefs are poised to go 5-0 to start the year. Broncos’ fans I know this is annoying but Patrick Mahomes is only 29 and will continue to haunt the AFC West. The Saints are now 2-2 and their offense has cooled off after scoring 90+ in their first two games. Last week was a two-point loss to their division rival, the Falcons. There is no Rashee Rice or Isaiah Pacheco so, the Chiefs’ offense may look a little lackluster. The Chiefs’ defense is still a top side, but I like the Saints to win 24-22

Teams with Bye Weeks: the Detroit Lions, the Los Angeles (San Diego) Chargers, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Tennessee Titans.
