Chris Van Hollen ready to party / Public domain
You may have seen that Maryland Rep Chris Van Hollen, a day late for the end of the soundbyte phase of media in politics, decided he would SWOOP in to El Salvador and free Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal alien who was deported last week. This whole thing is just bonkers.
Well, a lot of the young dem wannabes have sided with him, elevating him to GOD status in their eyes, despite the fact that a) this is a terrible idea, b) this is not how diplomacy works, c) Salvadorian president Bukele said YESTERDAY that he was not releasing Garcia, and finally d) what does he think he’s going to do?
I’m about to board my flight to El Salvador, where I hope to meet with senior government officials to discuss the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
I also hope to see Kilmar and check on his condition — and remind him that we won’t stop fighting until he’s home. pic.twitter.com/dunE0lytIb

Maybe he was expecting to break into Garcia’s cell and abscond with him, a la Raising Arizona?
Yeah, that’s a real thing that happened, and who knows what Van Hollen is thinking (maybe just a fancy vacation trip?) of course the left has been hooting and hollering in their echo chamber elevating him to savior of the world, but here’s where it’s at to date:
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) just had his request to visit deported MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia denied!

If you’re a Marylander, what’s your take? Should Van Hollen be burning through more cash and jet fuel than Greta Thunberg on a CLimate tirade? Seems like an awful big waste of money just to make a point. Also, what do you think the result could be? Is he going to be successful? Will Bukele bend to the sheer power of his Mr Feeny personality?
We will find out soon, I’m sure.
