Russia Warns U.S. Strikes on Iran Could Spur Nations to Supply Tehran with Nuclear Warheads

(Worthy News) – Russia on Sunday condemned American airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities and issued a stark warning: the attacks could push other nations to provide Tehran with nuclear weapons. The strikes, carried out under Operation Midnight Hammer, targeted Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan sites overnight Saturday, involving more than 125 U.S. aircraft, including seven B-2 Spirit stealth bombers.

Dmitry Medvedev, former Russian president and current deputy chairman of the Security Council, said the U.S. decision to bomb Iranian nuclear sites will not stop Tehran’s nuclear ambitions—and could backfire dramatically.

“A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads,” Medvedev wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “The enrichment of nuclear material—and, now we can say it outright, the future production of nuclear weapons—will continue.”

Medvedev did not specify which countries might consider arming Iran, nor did he cite sources for his claim. However, Russia has long supported aspects of Iran’s nuclear program and offered to mediate regional tensions. Just last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed brokering peace talks between Iran and Israel.

The Russian Foreign Ministry denounced the U.S. airstrikes as a “gross violation of international law” that “dangerously escalates” tensions across the Middle East. “This reckless step undermines regional and global security,” Moscow’s statement said.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who is expected to meet with Putin in Moscow, echoed the sense of betrayal. “Last week, we were in negotiations with the U.S. when Israel decided to blow up that diplomacy,” Araghchi tweeted. “This week, we held talks with the E3/EU when the U.S. decided to blow up that diplomacy.”

President Donald Trump, who authorized the strikes, had emphasized that Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said the U.S. is working with regional partners to protect American forces following the operation.

While the White House has not responded to Medvedev’s remarks, the warning from Moscow underscores the danger that military action could accelerate—rather than contain—Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Prophecy teachers are watching closely, noting that the deepening ties between Russia and Iran echo biblical descriptions of an alliance between Gog and Persia that will rise against Israel in the foretold Gog-Magog war of Ezekiel 38 and 39.
