THE HAGUE (Worthy News) – U.S. President Donald J. Trump warned Wednesday that conflict between Israel and Iran could soon reignite while comforting a Ukrainian reporter who was close to tears when expressing concern about the war in her country.

Speaking at an often combative news conference at the NATO summit in the Dutch city of The Hague, he said Iran and Israel were “tired” after fighting “very hard and very viciously” and had chosen to “go home.”

However, he then cautioned that the current ceasefire may not hold between the two nations. “Someday it could maybe start again soon.”

The president attributed the current truce and what he called the end of the “12-Day War” to U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

Trump downplayed a leaked U.S. intelligence report suggesting limited damage from the strikes, calling such coverage “fake news.”

He lashed out again at “fake news” by condemning broadcasters CNN, MSNBC, and The New York Times newspaper for publishing reports suggesting the damage from the bombings at nuclear facilities in Ukraine was limited.

Trump said it was very unfair toward the pilots who flew their 37-hour mission to strike Iran’s nuclear sites, going deep into enemy territory.

He asserted that Iran’s nuclear labs had been rendered “totally inoperable” after intelligence reports from both Tehran and Tel Aviv agreed that destruction had been extensive.

He also suggested that the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, may need to change his title to ‘Secretary of War’ given the deteriorating situation in the Middle East.

The remarks followed the NATO summit, at which allies endorsed a 5% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) defense spending target by 2035.

There was a moving moment when Trump tried to comfort a Ukrainian reporter on Wednesday, who appeared close to tears when she asked him whether the U.S. would sell more anti-missile systems, such as the Patriots, to Ukraine.

“We know that Russia has been pounding Ukraine really heavily right now,” added the reporter of the Ukrainian service of Britain’s broadcaster BBC.

When Trump asked her whether she currently lived in Ukraine, she replied that her husband, who serves in the army, had wanted her and the kids to move to Warsaw, Poland.

“I wish you a lot of luck. I can see it is very upsetting to you,” Trump told the visibly moved reporter. He said he would look into her “very good question,” as the U.S. also needs the Patriots and had given Israel many of these systems. “They are 100 percent effective.”
