Charlie Kirk Shooter Manhunt Update
The search for Charlie Kirk’s killer took a major turn early Friday as President Trump announced on the Fox & Friends morning show that a suspect in the shooting is now in custody, following a three-day nationwide manhunt. Law enforcement had released security footage and stills of a “person of interest” caught fleeing the Utah Valley University rooftop after the fatal shot that killed Kirk, a conservative activist, during a public event on September 10.
The FBI recovered the suspected murder weapon nearby and processed thousands of tips, with authorities vowing to pursue all leads. As official details emerge, leaders called for justice and are working to confirm the suspect’s identity and possible motives, while the campus remains under heightened security and investigation continues.
The FBI had previously released pictures of a “person of interest” in the shooting, but has not confirmed if this is the same person who is in custody and suspected to be the shooter.
Charlie Kirk’s body has been transported to Arizona for burial, accompanied by JD Vance and his wife. President Trump also stated on Fox & Friends that he will posthumously award Kirk with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
