WASHINGTON (Worthy News) – U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday warned Iran that any attempt to revive its nuclear weapons program would be met with swift military action, signaling that Washington is prepared to strike again if Tehran resumes enrichment activity.

Speaking at a U.S. Navy event in Virginia, Trump said, “Iran might renew its nuclear weapons, but I hope it won’t. If that decision is made, we will address it promptly.” The president added that the U.S. “won’t wait so long” before acting if Iran rebuilds its nuclear infrastructure.

Recent U.S.-Israel Strikes on Iran

The warning comes months after joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes in June that targeted key Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Trump said those attacks “obliterated” much of Iran’s nuclear capability, claiming that the Islamic Republic had been “within a month” of producing a nuclear weapon before the strikes.

Asked whether he would consider another round of bombing if Iran resumed its uranium enrichment, Trump responded, “Sure, without question, absolutely–it has to be unbelievable.” He emphasized that he does not believe Iran can “go back into nuclear anytime soon” following the destruction of its facilities.

Iran Signals End to Cooperation with IAEA

In Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded defiantly, declaring that Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is “no longer relevant.” He accused Western nations of violating agreements and said the reimposition of U.S. sanctions had removed any incentive for continued nuclear talks.

“The three European countries thought they had leverage in their hands, threatening to implement a snapback,” Araghchi said, referring to the UK, Germany, and France. “Now they have used this lever and seen the results. They have definitely diminished their role and almost eliminated the justification for negotiations with them.”

Growing Regional Tensions

Recent intelligence reports suggest that both Washington and Tehran are preparing for possible military escalation. The U.S. Air Force has deployed additional aircraft, including refueling planes, to a base in Qatar, while Russian military flights to Iran have increased, reportedly delivering weapons.

Regional analysts warn that renewed hostilities could quickly draw in Israel, which participated in the June strikes.
