THE STAND: THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATE OF THESE UNITED STATES — Playing Politics
The structure of our Federal Government was designed and defined by our Founding Fathers in the terms and conditions of the Constitution of the United States. Most American citizens know little about that Constitution, most have never read it, and seemingly the vast majority of Americans are indifferent to the terms and conditions which not only govern the political structure of our Great America, but their very lives themselves. How tragic for democracy.
The Constitution provides for two legislative branches. The first is the House of Representatives, which is comprised of 435 members.

Each member is elected for two years and serves without term limits. Our Founding Fathers believed that the House would represent WE THE PEOPLE and be a legislative body comprised of a variety of citizens of our towns, cities, counties, and states. They believed, without requiring term limits, that members of the House would serve no more than 10–14 years at the most and then return to the normal life of a citizen.
That, of course, has seldom happened. Once in office, the objective of any House of Representative member was to stay in office.
The Constitution of the United States authorizes a second legislative body, the US Senate, a body which is comprised of 100 members, 2 Senators from each of the 50 States. That body of legislators was to be, among other things, a check and balance to the House of Representatives. The general thinking at the time was that Senators would serve two or three terms at most, totaling 12 or 18 years of service, and then retire and return.

That, of course, without term limits, never happened.
The Constitution and our Founding Fathers intended COOPERATION AND COMPROMISE between the two legislative branches of government. As the needs of the States developed, and as the Federal priorities of our great country materialized, what was good and right for America would take priority over everything else, that these two legislative bodies would cooperate in that regard, and always act in such a way as to protect the very best interests and the safety and well being of WE THE PEOPLE. Our Founding Fathers never anticipated that there would be:
GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWNS.
But the House of Representatives and the Senate of today are comprised of individuals who, in so many ways, do not put America first, seemingly care little about WE THE PEOPLE, and act to serve party interest (Democrat or Republican) without regard to the citizenry. TRUST exists nowhere. Members of the House and Senate seemingly trust no one, of course no one from the other party, and sometimes even within their very own party itself.
And, WE THE PEOPLE suffer.
TRUTH is more often replaced by the lie, the misrepresentation, or in political terms:
THE SO-CALLED EVOLUTION OF UNDERSTANDING AND DECISION MAKING.
POLITICAL POWER DOMINATES. Congress men and women become infected by what is called:
POTOMAC FEVER.
In short, POWER.
These political wannabees, power-seekers, cotton to the public, WE THE PEOPLE, asking for money, support, and making promises they never intend to keep. But once elected, the electorate is forgotten immediately, and the political power game begins. When the lust for power goes to the extreme, the government shuts down, and WE THE PEOPLE suffer in so many ways.
Heartless remarks from #2 Democrat Katherine Clark, who says “Of course there will be families that are going to suffer… but it is one of the few leverage times we have.”
To Clark, regular Americans’ livelihoods are just “leverage” to appease the Democrat base

So many members of this federal legislature House and Senate have so many opportunities, so many of them illegal, to make money, to get money, and to get the promise of money whether in office or after. So many members of the House and Senate have become rich because they are members of the House or Senate and nothing more. The concepts of honor, service, integrity, and morality are long since forgotten.
Then comes FAME WITH THE FORTUNE. These legislators have become well known, nationally and internationally, and the eager grows as the fame does. They can exercise influence over the private economy and the governmental economy, as well. They can exercise influence far beyond their federal position.
It is therefore quite understandable that there is little political:
DIALOGUE OR COMPROMISE.
There seems to be little respect when there are party differences. There is little, if any, compromise, but only hard, non-negotiable positions between the left and the right. And, when the money runs out, the government shuts down, as it did just now.
535 people, members of the House of Representatives and Senate, decided to inflict these economic, social, and cultural harms on WE THE PEOPLE, more than 300 million of us. At the beginning of the shutdown, it seemed as though the citizens cared little. But as the longest shutdown of the federal government in American history occurred and the negative effects began to accumulate, WE THE PEOPLE began to be concerned.
The wake-up call occurred when travel, air travel, became highly affected. Those negative effects began to occur early at the Thanksgiving season and very possibly could carry over to the Christmas/New Year holidays. That woke us up! It is tragic, indeed, that it takes something like that to wake us up and become politically involved. Unfortunately, the House of Representatives and Senate continue to regard WE THE PEOPLE as:
POLITICALLY IGNORANT.
House Republicans voted to keep the government open with the exact plan Democrats demanded: A short-term CR with no strings attached.
Now they’re blocking it.

We just do not know the full extent of our rights and how the government works. These politicians regard us as POLITICALLY UNEDUCATED AND INDIFFERENT and for the most part, they know that we will be:
UNINVOLVED.
We are just too busy to care about things in government.
But then comes the extremes of severe travel interruptions or cancellations, the continued growth of taxes, the horrendous effects of serious inflation, and the drastic increase in prices. Then, and only then, do WE THE PEOPLE wake up and demand change.
But, if WE THE 300 MILLION AND MORE do not care enough to make democracy work, than 535 people will do as they wish, and now these power-hungry individuals have shut the government down. Would it not be delightful if we could rid Washington of all 535 such power, money, and fame-seeking individuals and start over with all new right-thinking people? Change starts with you, my fellow citizen, and your local state districts, and your very state itself. The only way these problems can be solved is by a politically-active, educated, involved, and concerned:
YOU/WE THE PEOPLE.
Are you ready now to do your part as an American citizen with the incredible freedoms you enjoy or are you still:
