SPEAKER 11 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 04 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 11 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 04 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did.
SPEAKER 02 :
Get a job, sir. You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 15 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 04 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 05 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 08 :
All right, we are back. Hour number two, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Changing things up just a little bit. Richard’s got a program tonight to do, so he’s going to be with us his first half hour. So we’re going to get fired up right away with NFL picks. Let’s do it, Richard. Are you ready?
SPEAKER 06 :
That I am, Andy. Okay, let’s cue up the music. Here we go. Okay, Richard, we’ve got to start with the Kansas City Chiefs. They are favored by four and a half of the Cleveland Browns. It seems like the Chiefs could play the greatest team ever, or they could play a high school team, and they’re going to win by three either way.
SPEAKER 11 :
And they’re still going to take over, aren’t they, Andy?
SPEAKER 06 :
It’s crazy, isn’t it? I still don’t have much hope for the Chiefs in the playoffs, but what do you think?
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, I’m with you, Andy, which makes me happy, obviously, as a Broncos fan, because I just want to see them lose, you know? Yeah, they should win, Andy, although, again, the Chiefs never seem to blow out their competition. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Browns or whoever it is, but I just think they’re too good. Unless Jameis has one of his famous Jameis games, right? You have famous Jameis, that’s right? Yeah. I don’t think that they will pull it out. I mean, it’s possible, but I think that the Chiefs will get them here.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’ll take the Chiefs as well. Next game, the Bengals are favored by five at the Titans.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, the Bengals, I don’t want to say coming on, but maybe if their defense can figure it out, the Titans are sort of a mess, right, Andy, in their own rights? I like the Bengals. I like how their offense looks. It’s just the defense. But, yeah, they should win this game, Andy. They should win most of them down the stretch, hopefully, except for the Broncos. And they need to, right? Because if they don’t, they’re likely out of the playoffs.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I look at the Bengals. Look, the question is, what’s worse, the Bengals’ defense or the Titans’ entire team? And no, I do not believe the Bengals can beat the Broncos when they play. I don’t think they have a chance. So I’ll take the Bengals as well in this one. Next game, the Commanders are favored by 7.5 on the road at the Saints.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, Andy, the Saints are playing their backup to their backup. I don’t know why Rattler’s out or what the deal is, but the Saints are playing… Jake Hainer for his first career start. They’re tanking. Yeah, the commander should win. And you are correct, they are tanking, which they should, Andy. Yeah, the commander should win this one, should win it handily. Honestly, Jaden Daniels should have a heck of a game, so I’ll be curious to see how this one plays out. And to me, it’s just a matter of how much they beat them by.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I agree. You know, it’s kind of the point where teams like, even when they’re not playing each other, the Saints, the Titans, the Giants, the Raiders, these teams, they’re already in the draft bowl. That’s what they’re playing in every week. They are tanking for the draft. They should. They should, yes. I’ll take the commanders as well. Okay, let’s whip through these. The Ravens are favored by 16 at the Giants. Whatever. Go ahead and make that pick.
SPEAKER 11 :
The Giants, Andy. Again, another team that is tanking for the draft, you know, depending on which quarterback they want and how this season ends, whether they’re going to be ahead of the Raiders or maybe even the Jaguars, depends. And obviously the Ravens have got to win, Andy, right? So all those style points don’t matter in the NFL. It’s just a matter of if you win or not. In most cases, I mean, there is point differential at some point, one of the tiebreakers, but This should be bad, Andy. The Ravens should handle them. Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson should be on ice by midway through the second quarter, but if not the third quarter, yeah, it should be a bloodbath.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, the only thing I wonder is will the Ravens look past them entirely, but yeah, I’ll take the Ravens next game. The Cowboys are on the road at the Panthers. The Carolina Panthers are actually favored by three in a game.
SPEAKER 11 :
Andy, I think it’s the first time they’ve been favored in like two years or something like that, three years or something. It’s crazy. I mean, touche. Honestly, and credit to Bryce Young, Andy. The time that he was not playing again, and Dalton was playing, and then he sort of came back against the Broncos. The Broncos handled them. But he actually didn’t look too bad, and he’s really come along. Honestly, should have beat the Eagles last week or at least tied them late if Xavier Leggett makes that catch. Yeah, and the Cowboys, another team that if Jerry was smart, he would really just be coaching for whatever. Although, Andy, my choice for where Belichick was going to go was the Cowboys.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, but he looked at that roster and said, nope.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, he looked at that roster, looked at that contract with Dak and said, yeah, that one’s not going to happen. So, yeah, I’m going to go. I actually know what the Panthers here, Andy. I like them. Even though they’re favored, I just think that they’re a scrappy team. I think that they’re going to compete. and I think that they’ll take this over the old Cowboys, although I think it’ll be an exciting game.
SPEAKER 06 :
I think the Panthers deserve to be favored, but you know what? I’m going to pick the upset. This just has the smell of a game where the team that’s lost it all comes together angrily and plays an angry game. I’ll let the Cowboys beat the Panthers here. Next game, the Jets, for whatever reason, are favored by 3.5 over the Jaguars. A team that’s totally good.
SPEAKER 11 :
I don’t know, Andy. I don’t know, Andy. Yeah, the Jets are a disaster, but the Jaguars are equally, or if not, a worse disaster, which I don’t even know if that makes any sense to me. But yeah, Andy, the Jags, Trevor Lawrence is shut down. They should be competing for that number one draft pick just for the idea that you either take Travis Hunter or you can trade out of it for a ransom for one of these top quarterbacks, what your flavor is there. Yeah, Andy, and then the Jets, a whole other thing. They should actually be benching Aaron Rodgers, although maybe, Andy, Aaron Rodgers gives them the best chance to lose. Maybe we’re thinking about this all wrong, right? Maybe the Jets are looking at it, oh, Rodgers has been playing terrible. So, Andy, I think that overall I think the Jets will win. I think they have a better team. That’s not saying much. I just think the Jags are in need of a massive, massive reset, and they’ll get that at the end of the year.
SPEAKER 06 :
I agree. I think the Jets’ ownership is not thinking either way because I think they’ve stopped watching their own team. I don’t think they care anymore. As for the Jaguars, absolutely they are thinking of getting that top pick and ransoming it off for a future, but I’ll take the Jets. Dolphins are on the road. This is a good game. Dolphins are on the road at the Texans. Texans are favored by three, but neither team is impressive.
SPEAKER 11 :
No, they’re not. The Dolphins have got an easier schedule, Andy, to kind of finish off the year, and the Texans need to win because if they don’t and the Colts win a few more games, the Colts could eventually catch them for the division, believe it or not. So I think the Texans will be playing hard. They’ve been playing better as of late, and I think that gives them a shot here. I’ll go with the Texans. The Texans are at home, right, Andy? Yep. Yeah, I’ll take the Texans just because they’re at home.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’m going to take the upset. I’m going to take the Dolphins just because I think both teams suck, so I’ll take the Dolphins. Why not? Next game, the Colts are coming into Denver playing the Broncos. Broncos favored by four. It does not seem like enough.
SPEAKER 11 :
I like to hear you say that, Andy. I’m still nervous. I don’t even know if this one should be a… a one-point game or not. I think so, Andy. I think the Colts are reliant on big plays from Anthony Richardson, and they’re really reliant on him sort of chucking it up and getting the defense to fall asleep, which can happen to my Broncos at times. I’ll just say it 100%. So, ultimately, Andy, I think the Broncos will come out winner. I think it’ll be closer. the Broncos pulling away.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I think the Broncos blow them out. Next game will be the Bills at the Lions. That’s the game of the week. The Lions are favored by two and a half at home.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, Andy, and the Bills, you know, dropping one to the Rams last week. I know. A few of these teams that are struggling. Well, again, the Bills, that was a bad one to drop because Kansas City can almost lock up the one seed with a few more wins against these lowly opponents. They may lose two in a row here, Andy, because I think that the Lions are a really a really good team, although they’re reeling a little bit from all of their injuries. Right. You know what, Andy? I’ll go with the Bills because maybe you and I will split this. I’ll go with the Bills just because I think they’ll be looking to get back on the winning side of things.
SPEAKER 06 :
You know, I don’t know. I’ll take the Lions because they’re at home. But honestly, the Lions, once they get healthy down the final stretch, you know, for the playoffs, they’re the best team in the league. But they’re not healthy right now. But I’ll take them by a field goal over the Bills. Next game, Steelers are on the road at the Eagles. Eagles favored by five and a half. And the Eagles are red hot. Richard?
SPEAKER 11 :
Nope. Oh, are you there? Sorry, Andy. Sorry, you said the Eagles what?
SPEAKER 06 :
They’re red hot. You dropped out for a moment. Go ahead. Eagles are favored by five and a half over the Steelers.
SPEAKER 11 :
They are red hot, Andy. The Steelers are hot in their own right. They have a chance. They actually still have a chance at the one seed themselves or even the two seed. You’re playing, obviously, with the Bills, I should say. The Steelers have a tough game upcoming here in a few weeks, Andy. This is another tough one. Which Russell do we get here? I’ll go with the home team. I’ll go with Philly. I don’t necessarily love that pick because I think the Steelers are just a hard-nosed team. They’re going to muck up this game a little bit. It’ll be a Tomlin special, but I think the Eagles will pull it out.
SPEAKER 06 :
I agree. They’re too athletic. I’ll take the Eagles. Next game, the Patriots are on the road at the Cardinals. Cardinals favored by six.
SPEAKER 11 :
Andy, I almost was right with my Patriots pick last week. You almost called that. That impressed me. I was close. If we were playing against the spread, I would have been, but alas, we’re not. I’ll take the Cardinals, Andy. Patriots traveling cross country. I do think it’s an exciting game. I think that the Patriots will give, and Drake may make it more exciting, but the Cardinals should win. They’re just a little bit more talented, in my opinion.
SPEAKER 06 :
I agree. I like Drake May, but he’s a year away. I’ll take the Cardinals. Next game, the Bucs are on the road at the Chargers. Chargers favored by three between these two very even teams.
SPEAKER 11 :
Very even Andy and the Chargers. They’re going to do what they’ve done all year, Andy. They should have beat the Chiefs last week if they got their stuff figured out and Jim Harbaugh realizes you can’t give the ball back to Patrick Mahomes. At any point in the game with just needing a field goal especially. Yeah, that wasn’t too bright. Yeah, it wasn’t too bright at all, Andy. The Bucs are a tough team. Baker can get hot. You know what, Andy? I’ll go with the home team out of nothing. Just sheer, I think that We’ll see the Chargers. I think they need to get back on the win here after their loss against the Chiefs last week. I’ll go with the Chargers.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, you’ve got two teams that are average to maybe a little above average. I’ll take the Chargers. Okay, the Packers are favored by 2.5. They’re on the road at the Seahawks. Maybe one of the better games of the weekend, Andy. Yeah, I think so. I mean, I still think Bill’s Lions is the one to watch, but my Packers going up there to Seattle. I mean, maybe my Packers can go downtown and seize the city block. I hear that’s all the rage there.
SPEAKER 11 :
You know, hey, well, maybe they’ll just seize Lumen Field and they’ll call it there. Yes. I think the Packers will get them here, Andy. I think that the Seahawks are a tough team. I just think that Geno can only take them so far, and I think the Packers have more weapons. They almost had it, well, yeah, last week. Yeah, I’ll take the Packers here, Andy. On the road in tough, looming field.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I think Jordan Love’s starting to put it together. I’ll take the Packers. Two more games. The Bears are on the road at the Vikings. Vikings only favored by seven. I think that they’ll be up by seven minutes into the game. So I’m not sure. What do you think?
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, Andy, if there wasn’t a, you know, if Caleb Williams, I mean, I still think he’s got a shot, but, man, you know, there’s a lot of – He did a few things that made me question him before the draft, and those are sort of coming to fruition. I’ll be 100% honest with you. Yeah, and the Vikings against Sam Donald looking good, Andy. I just think they’re going to come back to earth at some point in time. But that’s not this week against a lowly Bears team.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, this is an easy win for the Vikings. Next game, last game, the Falcons. They’re actually favored by four on the road. Why? They’re going to Vegas to play the Raiders. What do you think, sir?
SPEAKER 11 :
The Falcons, one of the most underwhelming teams of the year at some point in time. Maybe they just finished out this year with Kirk, but as much as I like Kirk, I think he’s a good guy. You’ve got to try Pennix at some point in time, and it probably won’t happen this year because I think they’ll be fighting for a playoff spot up until the very last week of the season. But next year, I think you’ve almost got to get a chance at it because you can’t let a dude sit here. You’re not the Packers over here. You can’t let a guy sit for four years and not do anything with him, especially Penix, an older guy. And the Raiders, again, they’re shooting for that top spot, Andy. To me, they are going for Shador Sanders. I think they’re going to blow out that coaching staff at the end of the season. and we’ll see what they decide to do. But, yeah, I’ll take the Falcons on the road.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I would take the Raiders because I would take anyone against the Falcons’ defense. I believe the Falcons are going to draft nothing but defense for two solid years coming up. But the Raiders are tanking. They are determined to lose every single game to get you there. I think they’re going to continue. I think the Falcons win. John, back to you.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. Richard, are you going to head out?
SPEAKER 11 :
I’m going to head out. I’ll talk to you guys next week.

Putting reason into your afternoon drive, this is John Rush.
SPEAKER 08 :
All right, we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Last week we started off on loony lefties, movies starring crazy left-wingers, and we went through a few, but we decided last week, because there was still a lot left on the list, that we would do the same thing this week. By the way, next Friday we will be doing your favorite Christmas movie, so you can start gearing up for that already, because it’s the Friday before Christmas, and that’s what we’ll do.
SPEAKER 06 :
I like Christmas movies. I really do. They’re fun.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s a fun day.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’m one of those people, though, who will watch Christmas movies when it’s not Christmas time. Oh, me too. Yeah, I don’t care. Yeah. Okay, let’s start with one. And each time I’m going to ask you, John, would you watch movies with this person? Which ones would you? Which ones wouldn’t you? Perfect. Now, with the first one, I’m going to make it easy because you wouldn’t watch anything with this person because she sings. Okay? But I’ve got to start with Rachel Zegler. I’ve got to start with the wacko leftist who is ruining… Snow White coming up and who has been attacking what? Trump supporters.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, she’s one where I won’t watch her, period.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, she’s the one who came out and said after the election, I understand it’s very painful. Your side loses. I’ve been there. I’ve been angry. Suck it up. But to say, I hope all Trump supporters know no peace. And then she said blank Trump and so forth. But… I want you to understand what a talent this woman is, this young woman. You know, a lot of actors and actresses can sing. And it’s one thing to be able to sing and even be able to sing powerfully. It’s another thing to have a crystal clear, truly beautiful voice. True. So I want you to hear a little of her singing I Feel Pretty from West Side Story. Here we go. And?
SPEAKER 08 :
You’re not plugged in.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, I’m not.
SPEAKER 08 :
There’s the cable right there.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, my gosh.
SPEAKER 08 :
You’ve got to be plugged in, Andy.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’ve got to be plugged in.
SPEAKER 08 :
That helps.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, well, it helps a little bit. Okay, here we go.
SPEAKER 1 :
I’m Marie.
SPEAKER 03 :
See that pretty girl in that mirror there? Who can that attractive girl be? Such a pretty face, such a pretty dress, such a pretty smile, such a pretty face. You like running and dancing for joy, but I’m
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, what a crystal clear, gorgeous voice. Pretty good. That is rare. That’s incredibly rare. And by the way, she’s tiny. This is a tiny little female. You got that incredible voice coming out of that. It blows my mind. But that’s Rachel Zegler. You wouldn’t go to anything with her in it. Nope. But I’ll throw a few out really quick here. West Side Story, of course, you wouldn’t want to see. I thought it was a pretty good movie, actually, directed by Spielberg. Shazam!
SPEAKER 08 :
No, I didn’t see it either.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay. Hunger Games, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
SPEAKER 08 :
That was the last one, right? Yes, it was. Yeah, I’ve seen all the ones but that one.
SPEAKER 06 :
It wasn’t too bad. It was pretty good. Pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. And finally, Snow White. That’s coming up. Do you look at Snow White and just say, look, I just don’t want to see that. This person is so repulsive.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, you just cringe. Yeah. Besides that, what they did with the dwarfs and so on, it’s like, yeah, no, not going. Sorry. Done.
SPEAKER 06 :
And by the way, you know, this idea, and I think I’ve said it before on here, this idea that she is the fairest of them all versus the evil queen. The evil queen is played by Wonder Woman.
SPEAKER 1 :
Oh.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’m sorry, but she’s not the fairest of them all. No, she is.
SPEAKER 08 :
The evil queen is the fairest of them all. Yeah. No, I’m with you there.
SPEAKER 06 :
So there you go. Okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
Who do you hate?
SPEAKER 06 :
Who is really mean? We’re talking mean lefties today.
SPEAKER 08 :
Chelsea Handler. That’s another one I won’t watch anything that she’s in, period, at all. Done.
SPEAKER 06 :
And what has she been in? I know I’ve done movies with her.
SPEAKER 08 :
She’s been in a few scenes. She’s got parts in some different movies and so on. Yeah, she’s a talk-house comedian, and she’s done movies, and I can’t stand her.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, well, that’s fair. I’m just going to say a name here, and I just want to say a quote from him, John Cusack.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, he’s on my list, too.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, and he says the election wasn’t quite finished yet, and he says, Harris may well come through Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, he wrote. The fact that the country would choose to destroy itself by voting in a convicted felon rapist and Nazi is a sign of deep nihilism, to put it mildly. That’s what he said in this last election. He is a disgrace, just in the way he is. He’s full of hate, and yet he’s a wonderful actor, and I love what he does. So let me list a few. Identity.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
Would you watch it? Yeah. Me too. Con Air.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
Definitely. Of course. Con Air is the movie I’ve probably seen more than any other. I love watching it. Say Anything.
SPEAKER 08 :
Never saw it.
SPEAKER 06 :
It’s classic. Trust me, it’s worth seeing. Excellent romantic comedy. One of his earliest movies. Better Off Dead.
SPEAKER 08 :
I’ve seen it, but it’s been a long time.
SPEAKER 06 :
A ridiculous comedy, very funny, gross point blank.
SPEAKER 08 :
Never saw it.
SPEAKER 06 :
He plays a hitman, but it’s a love story.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, never did see it.
SPEAKER 06 :
And it’s a comedy. Didn’t see it. Okay, once again, it’s very good. There is, as a conservative, am I willing to watch John Cusack? Yes, absolutely. But does it take a little, just a little tweak of the fun off it, knowing how much he hates me? I’ll be honest, it does. Of course. But he’s a wonderful actor. He has one of the most, well, yeah, one of the most unique deliveries of a line I’ve ever seen in my life. I love the way the guy delivers a line, but yeah, he’s a hard one.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s hard. He’s one of those guys, though, that I feel, me personally, maybe because of his anger from the left to us, his earlier movies were better than his later ones.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, they were.
SPEAKER 08 :
My opinion.
SPEAKER 06 :
He hasn’t made anything in a while.
SPEAKER 08 :
He had a lot more fun when he was younger, let’s just say that. He’s become the NFL.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes. He became angry and embittered as he grew older.
SPEAKER 08 :
A lot of his movies when he was younger were fun.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I don’t know when he was younger if he even cared that much about politics.
SPEAKER 08 :
I think in the movies he made, you could tell he didn’t.
SPEAKER 06 :
I think with some of these guys and girls, they become Hollywoodized. Yeah. And the more they’re around—now, some of them are just lefties right from the get-go. Obviously, Rachel Zegler.
SPEAKER 08 :
Correct.
SPEAKER 06 :
But with some of them, I think Hollywood just kind of takes over their psyche, and they become hateful. Can’t argue that. And he is.
SPEAKER 08 :
All right, we’ll let John fill in here before I go. Go ahead, John.
SPEAKER 12 :
Hey, I got one that’s kind of old, but George Takai has lost his mind, too. Yes, he has.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 12 :
And it’s tough for an old Star Trek fan not to want to watch the old ones, but I can deal with it because some of the other cast was better. And they’re all liberal, but he’s mean. James Doohan wasn’t. Do you know he went ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day? No, I didn’t know that.
SPEAKER 06 :
I actually saw James Doohan and shook his hand in person. And I saw him speak. And the neat thing about him, he’s known as Scotty and he does that incredible Scottish accent. He’s actually British. Or is he Irish? I think he’s Irish. But he does several incredible dialects from many countries. And that’s what he was known for. I don’t know anything about him politically.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, I don’t either, but I know most guys that went offshore at Omaha Beach, I don’t think were super liberal. You know what I mean? For the most part, no. On D-Day? Yeah. I agree. There’s just so many out there, and there’s some that are worth watching, and then there’s some that are just like, no, I can’t do it. We talked about it last week, but… It’s really hard to watch some of the great De Niro movies now.
SPEAKER 06 :
It can be.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, but then you’ve got to look at maybe some of the other actors will make you go for it.
SPEAKER 06 :
One second. While you’re on here, let me put this to both you and John. And I’m going to go first with John and Cheyenne. John, I’m going to list a few of these De Niro movies. Just say yes or no whether you’d go to them, okay? Or whether you’d obviously watch them again. Awakenings.
SPEAKER 12 :
No. No. No, I wasn’t a fan of that movie when it first came out.
SPEAKER 06 :
Great acting, but boy, it was depressing. Midnight Run, my favorite De Niro movie.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, I could probably watch that again because Charles Grodin was hilarious. They both were, actually.
SPEAKER 06 :
Silver Linings Playbook.
SPEAKER 08 :
No. No. Never seen it. Oh, it’s the most depressing movie you’ll ever see.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, here’s a great one, a good one, with Edward Norton about a heist, The Score.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, good movie.
SPEAKER 06 :
Have you seen that, John?
SPEAKER 12 :
That was a good movie.
SPEAKER 06 :
And he was great in it. Here’s an obvious one. I know you’re both going to say yes. Meet the Parents. You guys like that kind of movie, right?
SPEAKER 12 :
Eh, okay. Yeah, I could probably watch it again if it was on.
SPEAKER 06 :
But it’s an older De Niro, and it’s a little harder to watch him now. Did you ever see Copland?
SPEAKER 12 :
He was really good in that. That was a good movie top to bottom. Who was in that with him?
SPEAKER 08 :
Stallone. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 12 :
Stallone was the star.
SPEAKER 06 :
Wasn’t Ray Liotta in that too, Andy? Yeah, he was. Yeah, he was. And Stallone put on like 50 pounds of fat for the role.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, he was a big old fat local cop. And he did a terrific job in that movie.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, a couple more here. I’m going to throw them to John and Cheyenne. Heat.
SPEAKER 12 :
I like Val Kilmer. If I’m thinking of the right one, maybe.
SPEAKER 06 :
Can’t remember if Kilmer. If there’s nothing else on. Okay, John, I know you’d probably watch Heat, right? What about… Goodfellas. Come on.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yes. Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s a classic mafia.
SPEAKER 08 :
I’ve got to watch it.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, and last two, and these are older movies. John, I know you like older movies. Raging Bull and Taxi Driver.
SPEAKER 12 :
Neither. Yeah. Yes and yes, but here’s one of his first movies that he did with Scorsese that’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. What? Have you ever seen Bang the Drum Slowly? No. Oh. It’s It’s about a baseball player that gets diagnosed with cancer. Wow. And it’s in the late 60s, early 70s. And it’s got a great cast. And it’s just an early, it was before Taxi Driver. And if you want to watch, it’s a little, I won’t say it’s depressing because it’s got a good story. But it is a really good movie.
SPEAKER 06 :
I don’t know. That sounds pretty Brian-songy. That sounds pretty depressing. Now, you just like watching it because it’s De Niro and you’re a commie, right?
SPEAKER 12 :
No, and they filmed it on location at the old Shea Stadium back in… And it had… Michael Moriarty was the other star. Okay. And it had… If you look at it, though, if you look at the cast, you’ll be like, oh, I know that guy. I know that guy. It had a lot of the late 60s, early 70s, what they used to call bit part actors that had that great supporting role.
SPEAKER 06 :
OK.
SPEAKER 12 :
And it’s. Andy, if you’re looking for something to watch, it’s definitely worth a watch.
SPEAKER 06 :
Bang the drum slowly. All right, John. Thanks, sir.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, no, appreciate that.
SPEAKER 06 :
Have a good night, guys.
SPEAKER 08 :
You too, man. Appreciate you very much. All right, let’s take a quick break. We’ll come back. High-five plumbing and electrical, by the way. If you need anything done this Christmas season, please give them a call. Keep them right at the top of your list. 877-WE-HIGH-5.
SPEAKER 05 :
The holidays are the busiest season for plumbers, and High Five Plumbing, Electrical, Heating, and Cooling wants you to be ready now. There are several things you can do to prevent freezing, busted pipes, and other plumbing issues just as guests arrive. If you have plumbing inside cabinets, leave the doors open to warm them. especially if they are on an exterior wall. Hi-5 can better insulate pipes if this is a constant issue. And if you’re going away for a vacation, don’t forget to turn the water off to prevent those really bad emergency pipe breaks. When the cold dips lower than normal, leaving your faucets dripping will keep water flowing and prevent it from freezing. Plumbing inside your home is constantly degrading. So even if you haven’t had an issue in previous years, Hi5 can help you make sure it’s still working. Have them out for a pre-holiday inspection and receive a waived inspection fee just for being a KLZ listener. Schedule your inspection today at klzradio.com slash plumbing.
SPEAKER 14 :
No need.
SPEAKER 08 :
All right, Kevin Flesch, if you need legal help, he is your guy. He’s got stuff he works on with me all of the time because when you do some of the things that I do, there’s always something coming up that you need help with, and Kevin is the guy. So give him a call if you need any legal help at all, 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 22 :
Here’s why you need personal injury attorney Kevin Flesch on your side. He understands the way the jury thinks. In the context of a personal injury case, you’ve been hurt by someone else’s negligence. The idea is that you’re going to try to recover so that you can get back to where you were just prior to that incident occurring. What that really means from a jurist’s perspective is that you’re going to be asking them to award you money. So when we talk about fairness, we’re talking about six people that you don’t know. Those six people view the evidence and make a unanimous decision that will decide what the fair value is. When you’re the one who’s hurt, you have a good idea of what you think it’s worth. The question is, can you persuade those other individuals whom you don’t know and were witnesses to believe that’s what the case is worth? Kevin Flesch understands the way the jury thinks. Call now for a free consultation, 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 08 :

Now, back to Rush to Reason, presented by Hi-5 Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 08 :
All right, one of you asked if next week Andy and I would sing Christmas songs on air, kind of like radio karaoke, and the answer is no. No. Easy answer.
SPEAKER 06 :
No. Well, you see, here’s the thing. We’re 12 stories up. Right next to us are two very large windows.
SPEAKER 08 :
Right.
SPEAKER 06 :
And for those to shatter would be very dangerous.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, we don’t want to go out the window.
SPEAKER 06 :
Scattering glass over the people below. I mean, we could get sued.
SPEAKER 08 :
Not going to happen.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, it’s not going to happen. Okay. Let’s take a look at Seth Rogen. Now, here’s what he said about Ted Cruz. They had a back and forth. He says he inspired a deadly mob to storm the Capitol.
SPEAKER 08 :
First of all, that’s sure he did.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah. The only killing that happened that day was a Trump supporter who was unarmed being shot by a cop. Right. But and I think that deserves ridicule. So blank him talking about Ted Cruz. Your lies got people killed. You have blood on your hands. Ted Cruz is a fascist.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay, that’s Seth Rowe. Far from it.
SPEAKER 06 :
Now let’s play Seth in a movie, and this was in The 40-Year-Old Virgin. We played this before with him. Who’s the star from Ant-Man? Anyway, the two of them are talking why you’re gay. Here we go.
SPEAKER 10 :
You’re gay now? No, I’m not gay. I’m just celibate. I think, I mean, that sounds gay. I just want you to know that this is like the first conversation of like three conversations that leads to you being gay. Like, there’s this, and then in a year it’s like, oh, you know, I’m kind of going to want to get back out there, but I think I like guys. And then there’s the big, oh, I’m a gay guy now.
SPEAKER 09 :
You’re gay for saying that. I’m gay for saying that? You know how I know you’re gay? How? How do you know I’m gay? Because you macromade yourself a pair of jean shorts.
SPEAKER 10 :
You know how I know you’re gay?
SPEAKER 09 :
You just told me you’re not sleeping with women anymore. You know how I know that you’re gay? How? Because you’re gay and you can tell who other gay people are? You know how I know you’re gay? How? You like Coldplay.
SPEAKER 07 :
A couple losers playing video games. You’re like Coldplay.
SPEAKER 06 :
See, his delivery is awesome.
SPEAKER 07 :
It is.
SPEAKER 06 :
It is. Seth Rogen has some of the best delivery out there. Fantastic. Now, he hasn’t done anything recently, and I wonder if he’s another one of these people who his bitterness ideologically might be affecting the art for him. Because, man, when you’re full of that much anger and rage, it’s hard to be funny. I don’t know. I’m just saying.
SPEAKER 08 :
All right, you’re up. Chris Evans. Chris Evans. And he’s one where I can hardly watch anything he’s in anymore. Yes. Period. Even old stuff.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, and let me throw a few out here. Would you? No, you’d watch Captain America, right? It’s rough, isn’t it? It is. Because he’s ruined.
SPEAKER 08 :
He has tarnished the shield. Yes, he has. Yes.
SPEAKER 06 :
The Avengers, well, that’s more than just him.
SPEAKER 08 :
Kind of a given, yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
Lightyear, no way.
SPEAKER 08 :
No.
SPEAKER 06 :
Not another teen movie, which he made in the beginning. Hilarious. It is hilarious. And then Knives Out. Knives Out was okay. Knives Out was pretty good, yeah. It was okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
Granted, and fortunately for, especially Knives Out, he wasn’t like the only one in the movie. I mean, there was lots of other things going on besides him. I agree. Where Captain America, it’s pretty much him. I mean, yeah, there’s a lot of other characters, but it is all about him.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, next actor. And here’s a quick quote, and this actor was just talking about politics. Red is dead, do blue instead. Do you know who that is? That’s Jim Carrey.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes, and here he is in Dumb and Dumber. What are my chances?
SPEAKER 16 :
Not good.
SPEAKER 04 :
You mean not good like one out of a hundred?
SPEAKER 16 :
I’d say… More like one out of a million.
SPEAKER 08 :
So I still have a chance.
SPEAKER 06 :
There he gets a smile.
SPEAKER 08 :
So you’re telling me there’s a chance. What a dork.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, look, quite possibly the funniest, most physically funny actor of all time. Probably. But again, another guy who, when the bitterness took over, when the rage took over, guess what happened to his movies? They crashed and burned.
SPEAKER 08 :
He became boring. The other guy that was similar to him, much older, and got worse as he got older as well, but was also a funny physical actor, Dick Van Dyke.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
Same thing happened to him.
SPEAKER 06 :
He got political, and that kind of killed it. You know, it’s interesting because Sonic 3, Jim Carrey had said he was going to take a long time, take a few years off from acting. But Sonic 3 is coming out, and he’s reprising his role as the villain. And they asked him why, and he said flat out, I need the money. I bought a bunch of stuff, and honestly, I need the money.
SPEAKER 1 :
Wow.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’m like, with the money you’ve made? My gosh.
SPEAKER 08 :
They blow through it, though, Andy. He needs Al Smith. They blow through it. All right, John, you’re up.
SPEAKER 06 :
But there’s a lot. I won’t even go through all his movies because most of his movies, at least the early stuff you’d watch in a heartbeat.
SPEAKER 08 :
I’d watch a lot of them. George Lopez, I can’t hardly watch anything with him in it anymore. And he used to be really funny.
SPEAKER 06 :
He’s mean. He is very mean, isn’t he?
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah. And I just it’s like, again, you draw the line and it’s like, I just I can’t do that anymore.
SPEAKER 06 :
OK, well, here’s another one. And let’s just take a quote here. When I see Trump, I see the same rednecks I saw when I was growing up who called me a N-word and tried to keep me in my place. Who do you think that is? No, I don’t know. Samuel Jackson.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, that’s too bad because his movies are good.
SPEAKER 06 :
They can be very good. Now, will I still watch Samuel Jackson movies? Yes, I would because he’s great.
SPEAKER 08 :
I agree.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, in The Avengers, you got The Avengers, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Shaft, Pulp Fiction, The Incredibles, Coach Carter. Now, here’s a couple. Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight. He really does bring the racism in those.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, those were very good movies.
SPEAKER 06 :
Big time.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, I agree.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, next.
SPEAKER 08 :
Go ahead. Bette Midler. Another one I can’t watch at all. And her hate’s been there for a long time, by the way.
SPEAKER 06 :
It’s been there for a long time, but my goodness, what a talent. What a singing talent. Ruthless People, funny. Down and Out in Beverly Hills, funny. Beaches, obviously it’s a tearjerker. And Get Shorty was a good movie. Is she worth watching? Yes. But does having her on the screen make the movie worse for me? Yes.
SPEAKER 08 :
Absolutely. 100%, Andy.
SPEAKER 06 :
Because she’s full of hate.
SPEAKER 08 :
I can’t. Again, it’s one of those where if she’s on, I’m moving on to the next movie.
SPEAKER 06 :
Let’s just do an easy one. Whoopi Goldberg.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, same.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I can’t do it. Sister Act was still awfully good. But yeah, she’s rough.
SPEAKER 08 :
Rand, you’re up. Go ahead.
SPEAKER 19 :
I think there’s one you may not have caught, but I think it’s the King of Liberal… um acting and that would be uh larry david yeah yeah he’s a hater i’ll buy that one yeah you’re right i was watching that and they larry david actually did a picture of himself he got arrested on the show and he’s posed in the same pose as trump was posing for his mugshot yeah
SPEAKER 06 :
Also… That’s when you know somebody’s a little too fixated. Go ahead.
SPEAKER 19 :
Right. Also, Larry David, they had Colonel Vindman on two episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
SPEAKER 06 :
Did they really? Oh, he’s a nut job.
SPEAKER 19 :
Yeah, they had him on two episodes. And here’s another funny thing. The woman that played Larry David’s wife in the show is married to…
SPEAKER 08 :
rfk jr no are you serious charlie just said that in my ear yeah well that’s got to be rough for him yeah oh man the cast definitely wanted to bring no you’re right no that’s good ran thank you that was one i didn’t have i did not have him on my list at all i’ve still got a bunch on here so no thank you for that very much okay let me throw one out really quick here sean penn Yeah, it was on my list. I was going to say that one next, actually.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, Dead Man Walking, would you watch it?
SPEAKER 08 :
No.
SPEAKER 06 :
Fast Time at Ridgemont High.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, just because it was when he was young.
SPEAKER 06 :
Mystic River. It’s really good.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, no.
SPEAKER 06 :
But at that point, he’s getting older and meaner.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, no.
SPEAKER 06 :
Tough to watch, man. Just tough to watch. Go.
SPEAKER 08 :
Miley Cyrus.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
Can’t hardly watch anything with her in it, either.
SPEAKER 06 :
Cher. Cher.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, I think I mentioned her last week.
SPEAKER 06 :
She was great in Mask, great in Moonstruck. I just, it’s hard to even watch her. She’s so full of hate. Go.
SPEAKER 08 :
You know, another one where, and he was good for the longest time, but again, if he’s on or he’s in the movie, I just won’t watch it as Tom Arnold.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah. He was funny as could be in True Lies, but he is so mean. Okay, what about Alec Baldwin, Hunt for Red October? I’ll watch it.
SPEAKER 08 :
I’ll watch a lot of his older ones.
SPEAKER 06 :
He’s really good in the new Mission Impossible movies. He really is. Yeah, he is. But man, oh man.
SPEAKER 08 :
He is.
SPEAKER 06 :
He’s so hateful. And he needs to not handle a gun. Just a little piece of advice.
SPEAKER 08 :
Good point. Go ahead. Now this one, I never liked her anyways, but I really didn’t like her once her politics got worse and worse as Meryl Streep.
SPEAKER 06 :
I was just about to say her. I love Defending Your Life. But, you know, the other movies, Kramer vs. Kramer, The Devil Wears Prada. You know what? I don’t want to see it just because she’s on the screen. I’m getting that same way. Yeah. Shia LaBeouf is one of the tough ones for me. I know I mentioned him last week. What a great actor. Greatest game ever played. Peanut Butter Falcon, Honey Boy. Yeah, I’ll watch his movies. But, jeez, I don’t like him.
SPEAKER 08 :
Now, here’s one I know. She’s a bleeding-heart liberal, but I will still watch most of her movies as Scarlett Johansson.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
Just because I like her movies.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, and she is yeesh. Jennifer Lawrence. X-Men First Class, The Hunger Games.
SPEAKER 08 :
I think with her I’ll watch the older ones but not the newer ones.
SPEAKER 06 :
She’s all hate, though.
SPEAKER 08 :
I know.
SPEAKER 06 :
And it’s a little rough even to watch The Hunger Games, which are so good.
SPEAKER 08 :
I can’t argue that, Andy. Oh, gosh, she’s so mean. I cannot argue that. You’re correct. Okay, go. Another one, Julianna Moore.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
It fits into that same. And I always really liked her. I agree. Yes.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay. Great actress, Susan Sarandon, Bull Durham, Dead Man Walking Again.
SPEAKER 08 :
Another one where I just can’t hardly watch those movies. They’re great movies, but I can’t watch them. My gosh. She’s pure hate. I know. Go. Last one, then we’ll take a break.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yep.
SPEAKER 08 :
Gwyneth Paltrow.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, that’s a rough one. Yeah. And she had a lot of great early movies. I know. They were good. When she really was angering me with all her politics stuff and then she did Seven, I decided to like the movie just because she got her head cut off. So bad. No, I would never do anything like that. But she was being so mean. Oh, she was? She still is. But, you know, the fact is, I think Gwyneth Paltrow is a terrific talent. I think she’s a wonderful actress. I’ve always really liked her movies.
SPEAKER 08 :
She let her politics get in the way. Just mean.
SPEAKER 06 :
Another one.
SPEAKER 08 :
