SPEAKER 08 :
I just saw a video clip of that unfunny Stephen Colbert doing his monologue last night saying, this is our final show of the Biden administration. Of course, the crowd groaned and he said, next time you see me, Trump will be president and I may not be here. Yeah, Trump’s going to round you up. That’s right, Stephen Colbert. That’s going to be his first executive order. Put Stephen Colbert in the gulag. Put him in the hooscow. And I hope he’s kidding. I’m not even sure he’s kidding. When people are not very funny, you never know when they’re kidding or not. You love people who think they’re funny and you know they’re not. And they always laugh at themselves and they’re so amused with themselves. Wow. Here we go. It’s Friday headed into inauguration weekend. And can you believe it? Can you believe this has happened? Look, it’s Friday, January 17th, 2025. We went through a year where we all fought hard. You know, I don’t want to take any more credit than you do. You probably were every bit at least as emotionally invested in the outcome of the election as we were. And when we watch Trump get convicted of 34 felonies, 34 felonies. How’d you like to wake up and know you’ve got 34 felonies hanging over your head? If you or I had one felony, it’s over. Our life is finished. You think my company would continue to employ me if I was a felon? Because of the weaponization of the justice system and the courts and these filthy, despicable, diabolical activist prosecutors and judges, Trump has 34 felony convictions to his name. I, honest to gosh, know that we all know that this is a God thing. This is a God thing. Trump got elected because God’s hand was in this election. He turned his head in Butler, Pennsylvania at the split second that the bullet would have otherwise killed him. You think that was an accident? You think that was a coincidence? Do you honestly think that a guy, that the beast, that the system, that the scoundrels manage… to deliver 34 felony convictions to gets elected overwhelmingly president of the United States. You think that’s an accident? You think that’s a mistake? There aren’t any mistakes. And there are no coincidences. You know it. And I know it. Trump’s election is an answer to a prayer. Is an answer to prayers. There’s no way around that. There’s no way around this. We ought to accept it. We need to revel in it. And I just wonder how many more people will turn to God again because of Trump’s victory. Look, I’m not a Christian talk show host. I’m a talk show host who’s a Christian. I don’t know, you know, I don’t know… the biblical, scriptural… I don’t have the scriptural expertise that I’m sure many of you have. And we’re not a Christian teaching and talk show. We’re a secular news talk show, but I’m blessed to work for a company that allows me to profess my faith whenever I feel like it. And my question to you is, won’t there be people… who turn back to the church, who go back to God, who remember what really matters, faith, family, freedom, as a result of Trump’s election. I mean, the flip side of it is, think about how miserable things would be if Kamala Harris had won. Do you realize how awful it would have been For the majority of America, I know the woke activists would have been happy. I know the people who turned lawfare into a public sport would have been thrilled. We would have been, can I use this word on the air? I think I can, screwed. We would have been so screwed. And it makes me shudder. to even think about how different things would be today, Friday, before the inauguration, if we were preparing for a Kamala Harris inauguration and a Kamala Harris administration. Every walk of life would have been impacted. Every aspect. Companies, tech, social media. Look, they’re trying to ban TikTok. TikTok isn’t going to get banned. There’s no way. Trump doesn’t want TikTok banned. It’s not going to get banned. We’re waiting for a Supreme Court opinion that could come any moment now. And, of course, we’ll bring it to you as soon as it comes down. But everything would have changed. The economy? How about the entrepreneurs? I’ve got to catch up with Alfredo Ortiz or Elaine Parker over at Job Creators Network. Think about what it would have done to small businesses if these demons, and many of them are demons, not all of them. You know what I mean. A lot of them are demons. If they had gotten in power, if they’d be running things, So here we sit with the presidency as a party, with the presidency, the Senate, and the House of Representatives. And I am just in this bursting feeling. I have this profound feeling of gratitude. And yes, I’m very prayerful. I’m so prayerful. And I find myself praying a lot more than usual, and I wonder if it’s because of the election. 1-800-655-MIKE. 13 past the hour. Got a lot of breaking news. Confirmation hearings underway for Kristi Noem. Again, the Supreme Court opinion being handed down. Biden, with some last-minute commutations, he’s commuting the sentences of a bunch of drug dealers. I’m not kidding you. You heard that right. A bunch of drug dealers and a bunch of people in jail for their drug offenses having their sentences commuted last night. 2,500 of them by Joe Biden. And you know what one of the radical whack job… liberal politician said about it? Yeah, it’s all about his legacy. Yeah, I agree. It’s about his legacy, all right. Let’s dive in. We’re having a great, great Friday. I hope you are, too, in such a great mood. I got everything packed up. It’s going to be cold in Washington, D.C., bitter cold, bitter cold. But let’s dive into whether or not you think This was all divine intervention. Is it a result of prayer and God? And will more people turn to God as a result of Trump’s victory? And the Republican wins on November the 5th. 800-655-6453. We have one open line, one phone number does it all. Call or text 800-655-MIKE. And welcome in to the Mike Gallagher Show.

SPEAKER 08 :
21 past the hour. Let’s dive in. On this Friday before the inauguration, I’m thinking a lot about faith. I’m thinking a lot about spirituality. I’m thinking a lot about the power of prayer. And let’s face it. A lot of us were praying without ceasing that the American people would get this right on November the 5th. And you know what? By golly, we did. We did. We did it. We did it. You know? And it’s just, I’m in this strange place right now where I keep thinking about how many people are turning to God. And how great I feel. I mean, I’m almost kind of in shock. Johnny’s in San Jose. Johnny, how are you? Welcome to the Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 09 :
Doing fabulous. What do you think about the New Year’s clock backwards until Trump gets in? I love that.
SPEAKER 08 :
Like a countdown?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. Literally, how much damage can this guy do? I’m literally in Silicon Valley. You have no idea. I work with a company. I work in Hollywood. I work for one of the most legendary guys. Not to brag, I work for a guy named Clint Eastwood. I’m blessed to work for the man. You guys are the best. Hugh Hewitt, the crew there at Salem, we love you guys. All the Clint Eastwood crew love you guys. You guys are the best in the business. And It’s you guys, like we literally said, I mean, how could we count it backwards? I can’t compliment you guys enough because your whole crew there at Salem, I’m telling you, the whole broadcast guys. We respect you guys so much. I’m from the film side. I work in Hollywood. And I love you guys, and you would be shocked at how many people in Hollywood actually totally support you guys.
SPEAKER 08 :
Can I tell you a story that you’ll appreciate? I’m at the airport lounge at LAX a couple weeks ago. What? And a nice guy comes up to me and he says, are you Mike Gallagher? And I said, well, yes, sir, I am. He goes, you know, I’ve never seen you before in my life. I have no idea what you look like, but I recognize your voice. Which, first of all, Johnny, that struck me as so bizarre. Could you recognize somebody just from their voice, do you think?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, VOs, yes, absolutely. I know all these voice actors.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, you know it. You’re in the industry, and this guy, well, so we’re talking, and we’re chatting away, and I’m flattered, and we’re talking about Trump, and, you know, he’s talked about what it means to be, you know, right of center in Hollywood and everything, and we’re just chatting away, and he’s going off to Cabo, and, you know, great. And finally I said, well, what are you doing? He goes, I’m in the film industry here in L.A., And I said, oh, that’s really interesting. So we start talking some more. I mean, dummy me, I don’t like think to say right away, what do you do? Well, then I finally said, what do you do? Johnny, you know the name. He runs one of the biggest film studios in the world. I mean, this guy hobnobs like I’m sure you do with some of these big famous actors and everything. But he said what you said. To your point, you just have no idea how many people in the entertainment industry, in show business essentially, feel the way we do. They’re just afraid to come out and say it because they would get destroyed.
SPEAKER 09 :
No, but you’ve got to understand this. Like I said, the countdown clock backwards. All of us in the industry, and Clint’s a rarity because he’ll speak his mind. Like the old school guard was that way. The younger crowd, I’m a good friend. I won’t name his name. He’s on the show. All the guys from Yellowstone love you. We worked on the show. Yellowstone was shared.
SPEAKER 08 :
Wow, that’s incredible. In fact, I saw one of them was on with Glenn Beck. What’s his name? Who’s the guy that was on with Beck a few months ago? I saw him.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, no, but I’m good friends with Ian. I won’t name Ian. I won’t name his last name.
SPEAKER 08 :
No, but he was on with Glenn Beckham. Well, look, we appreciate very much hearing from you, Johnny, and the Hollywood community, I guarantee you, they’re counting down, too, and saying, you know what, we’ll put the clock in reverse, and we’re going to count down to a new era. It is a new day. There’s a new – look at all these, you would think, leftist tech titans. They’re all going to be there Monday. You’ve got – they’re all going to be there, I think. Zuckerberg, the guy from TikTok, this list of the – and this is what – What you call it? Biden was saying about the tech oligarchs. Oh, we’re out of the oligarchy. Well, all the oligarchs are showing up. How about this? Biden just announced that he would commute the sentences of nearly 2,500 inmates who are serving prison terms. Now, these are people behind bars for poisoning our kids with drugs, many of them drug dealers. I mean, these are not all great. I believe in the power of redemption. I understand redemption. But I also believe that if you do the crime, you’ve got to do the time. Not in Joe Biden’s world. And I saw this coverage in the New York Times about Biden commuting all these drug offender sentences as this last-minute commutation, right? And I saw Representative Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts quoted in the piece. And I thought, well, there it is. Because you don’t get more radical or leftist than her. You don’t get much farther to the left than her. She’s a whack job. And she’s quoted in the New York Times article, it’s not a matter of just what is the right thing. It is also a matter of legacy. Well, Congresswoman Presley, I agree. This is all about legacy. This is Biden’s legacy. That one of his last ditch efforts in this miserable, failed presidency, as Americans, like the guy said, were counting down the clock, even in reverse, to say bye-bye. The legacy is a failure. It’s open borders. It’s freeing convicts and wreaking havoc in our nation. You’re right. That’s his legacy. And history will not be kind to Joe Biden. There’s no better time than right now to call my friends at PhD Weight Loss and Nutrition to start your journey to a healthier you. As I hear from you about how PhD Weight Loss and Nutrition has changed your life, I know that each one of us has had our own reasons for starting. SPEAKER 11 :
The Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 06 :
You could have saw all summer New York City police officers getting assaulted and beaten. You have Rikers Island where correction officers get stabbed, slashed, beaten every day. And the Democratic Party here in this state and nationwide doesn’t say boo. These January 6th guys that assaulted cops, they were in jail for two years, three years. That’s fine with me. If you do the same thing here to a cop in this city, you’re lucky you get three hours in the slammer.
SPEAKER 11 :
In the relieffactor.com studios, here’s Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 08 :
Gosh, I appreciated seeing New York City Councilman Joe Borelli sort of trashing CNN’s Abby Phillip over her hyperventilating about Trump’s pardons and commutations for the January Sixers. What a great point he made going into the lion’s den over there on CNN. And boy, are they in a world of hurt over there. Apparently, Acosta was demoted to the graveyard shift. He got midnight, the midnight shift. They’re taking him off 10 a.m. and putting him on at midnight, and he’s threatening to leave. Oh, no, don’t do that. No, what will we do without you, Jim Acosta? They’ve laid off hundreds of people. Nora O’Donnell got fired. Did you see that? I mean, I don’t even really watch the evening news very much anymore. But ultimately, I know that she’s, David Muir is ABC. Is Lester Holt the NBC guy? I think he is. And then Nora O’Donnell was CBS. And she is a big-time Trump hater. Big time Trump hater. Well, last night was her last night. This is an interesting thing. Are the media people getting shuffled around because of Trump? I mean, because that’s the accusation that these big media companies are trying to appease Trump. President Trump. I mean, here’s an example. And I want to go back to Joe Borrelli and welcome him to the show here in just a moment. But if you don’t mind, Councilman, real quick, I want to play this clip of Nora O’Donnell. Remember when Trump accurately pointed out that… the invasion of Springfield, Ohio by thousands and thousands of illegals from Haiti and the Haitian migrants. Here was the way Nora O’Donnell, who had been the CBS Evening News anchor person, characterized that a while ago.
SPEAKER 01 :
Donald Trump is blaming Democrats for inflaming political rhetoric, but the former president’s own words seem to be increasing the threat of political violence in Springfield, Ohio. That’s where a false and ugly accusation against Haitians, thousands of whom are legal permanent residents, is impacting everyday life.
SPEAKER 08 :
I mean, disgraceful. And I remember a number of months ago, she was like on the warpath night after night after night. And she’s supposed to be the anchorwoman. Well, she’s out. She’s out. She’s apparently been fired from the anchor desk. Let’s go back to this bold, patriotic New York City councilman, Joe Borelli. Here’s what he said in that clip that caught our attention the other night on CNN.
SPEAKER 06 :
You could assault all summer New York City police officers getting assault and beaten. California is the same way. California is the exact same way. So this is, you know… January 6th was not a great day for America. But to your point, it was litigated. Trump ran for office from day one saying he was going to do this. The American public had their chance to weigh in. He got elected and he did it. And now we’re going to have to move forward.
SPEAKER 08 :
How great is that? Let’s welcome the minority leader and New York City Councilman Joseph C. Borelli back to the Mike Gallagher show. Our hero of the week for standing up for some common sense, Councilman. Welcome back. How have you been?
SPEAKER 06 :
Good. Thank you, Mike. I appreciate the moniker. It’s well-deserved this time, especially the other people who’ve gotten it over the last couple of years.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, it’s astounding to watch the way they have tried to weaponize January 6th. And you put it in perfect perspective. It wasn’t a great day, you know. A lot of people did stupid things. But they’ve turned it into Pearl Harbor meets 9-11. You know, meets, you know, every the bubonic plague as the worst thing that ever happened to the United States. And, Joe, I think you’d agree with me. They don’t believe that. It’s about as realistic as calling Trump a fascist or Adolf Hitler. They don’t believe it. It’s just empty headed rhetoric.
SPEAKER 06 :
No, it’s as real as their sudden love for law enforcement. And to kind of expand on what I mentioned there, you know, there’s been I couldn’t even count how many times we’ve brought in, you know, correction officers. In fact, one press conference we had in City Hall and in the state capitol here, we had photographs of the horrific. gruesome injuries that New York City and state correction officers routinely get people who are slashed their faces gushing open with blood women who are sexually assaulted women CEOs who are have gotten horrible things done to them and we can’t even get Democrats to stand with us to say that people who do this are bad or wrong. Now suddenly, because there’s a political context and sort of ramifications to appease their base, suddenly it’s okay to back the blue and to be big fans of law enforcement. People, you know, they see right through this. It doesn’t pass the smell test. It doesn’t pass any question of their veracity in what they’re trying to do. And I’m glad, you know, Abby Phillips had me on. By the way, I will give that show a little credit. That show wants people to come on and actually start arguments. So, I mean, in fairness, they want me to come on there and yell and scream. I’m happy to do so.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, look at the presence of Scott Jennings. I mean, they let him talk, and he does a splendid job. And, of course, a lot of the people in that audience hate him, but those of us who can stomach CNN for more than five minutes at a time love what he represents. Councilman, let’s talk a little bit about New York City, because I often think about New York, in particular Manhattan, over this whole illegal immigration debate. Now, for people who aren’t that familiar with the way New York is laid out, with the five boroughs, you represent Staten Island’s South Shore. Staten Island is sort of an oasis in a desert of loony liberalism. Staten Island is a home to cops, to firefighters, to conservatives, to common sense, ordinary people. And again, it’s an anomaly really as far as New York City goes because certainly Manhattan is overwhelmingly blue. The other boroughs are pretty liberal. When I’m in New York, I stay right by a hotel called the Rowe Hotel on 8th Avenue. Okay. And every single time I’m there, I am stunned. Next time I go, I’m going to get out my iPhone and take video for the audience at the hundreds and hundreds of Hispanic people who are on the street. These are men, women, and children, sometimes at midnight, one in the morning, got little kids running around scampering. These are all illegals who are being housed at a luxury hotel in Midtown Manhattan that has been turned into a migrant center. Now, Joe, can you talk a little bit about a New Yorker’s perspective about Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration? What will it do to a city like New York where we all know that unfortunately there are many, many illegals who are living and working in New York City? How dramatic a change is this going to be for the city of New York?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, I mean, it’s already cost us actual dollars out of pocket, $6.5 billion, which is more than the budget of some states, which if you can believe that, it’s true. It’s more than the fire department we pay for every day. It’s more than the parks department, more than major city agencies spend in a year we’re spending on this crisis. We are already seeing the ramifications of the Trump presidency. You know, as soon as he was elected, there was a drop off of people coming to this city. And as a result, the mayor here actually closed about 13 migrant shelters. That’s a positive sign. But right now we are and the mayor is, too, to his credit. We are all behind Tom Homan getting rid of people who are here, not just illegally, but who are here also committing new crimes or have been convicted of crimes in the past or have been already adjudicated to have been removed. I mean, these are people that I frankly can’t wait to see. Eric Adams’ opponents, and I got my popcorn ready, I can’t wait to see Eric Adams’ opponents bend themselves into a pretzel trying to defend the rights of people who have convictions of rape in their home countries or people who have already been deported multiple times. Let them try to stand there and have New Yorkers make sense of what they’re trying to say. Because I think the current mayor, I think the threat of Mayor Cuomo perhaps I think a lot of the better politicians have have read the tea leaves and read the poll numbers a little better than some of the woke lefty liberals here. And they’re seeing that New Yorkers are just sick and tired of this problem.
SPEAKER 08 :
You mentioned, Joe, how you’re already seeing the Trump effect and the crackdown on illegal immigration in New York City. How about this? Our southern border has seen a sharp drop in illegal immigrant encounters in just the first few days of the Trump administration compared to the final few days of the Biden administration. That’s according to multiple Department of Homeland Security sources. The number of border patrol encounters at the southern border in the first three days of the Trump administration is 35% lower than the final three days of the Biden administration. So you’re right. The Trump effect is immediate. You mentioned Tom Holman. I’ve got to play this clip for you. This is classic. There was an illegal immigrant from Haiti who was scooped up, and there were cameras around, and he decided to let loose with a promise about how he’s never going to go back to Haiti. And he praised the… political leaders who are responsible for him being here in the first place check this out i’m not going back to haiti one of those threats is this illegal alien from haiti ice says he’s a gang member with 17 criminal convictions in recent years you feel me no biden forever bro thank obama for everything that he did for me bro Yep. So the gang member councilman said F Trump, Joe Biden forever. I thank Obama for everything he’s done for me. Tom Holman on Fox News Channel, who you mentioned, had a little reaction to the man, the gang member, promising he’ll never go back to Haiti.
SPEAKER 06 :
You see that video. I’m curious. What do you think?
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, he’s wrong. He’s going back to Haiti. I don’t know that.
SPEAKER 08 :
Hey, guess what? Narrator voice, you’re going back to Haiti. So these changes, Councilman, are being felt right away.
SPEAKER 06 :
Look, I mean, those videos, you know, could have been mashed up by Dan Scavino or Alex Brusewitz or Charlie Kirk or one of those great guys who do these meme videos all the time because it’s that comical that this is what the Democratic Party is actually representing. This man was so – look, this guy’s a truth teller. This guy is telling the absolute truth. Joe Biden allowed him to come into this country and commit all sorts of acts of crime and violence. And because of Donald Trump, because the people elected Donald Trump won every swing state, won the popular vote, mostly on this issue, because of Donald Trump, this guy is going back to Haiti no matter whether he wants to or not.
SPEAKER 08 :
Councilman Joe Borelli, again, you’re one of the shining examples of what could be in New York City. Incidentally, I got a text the other day from our mutual friend Frank Morano. Is Frankie Five Burrows going to run for office in Staten Island? What do you hear about that? Because I hear rumors.
SPEAKER 06 :
Mike, you’ve got to call him One Burrow now because, you know, Staten Islanders, we’re a little exclusive. We don’t like to favor the other ones. So he’s Frankie One Burrow, Staten Island, and, yes, he is running for city council to replace me, and I think he’ll do a fine job.
SPEAKER 08 :
Now, how’s that going to work? I mean, he’ll lose his gig over there at WABC?
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, he’s on pretty late at night, so I’m not sure how upset him and his family are going to be that he’s not out all night on the radio. I think the listeners are going to miss him more because his show really is great. You know, you turn on the channel late at night. He’s got all sorts of great guests. And he does long-form interviews.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, real quirky. And he’s a dear friend of mine, Frank Morano, the other side of midnight. And it looks like he might be, look, he’ll win. And your term is up when?
SPEAKER 06 :
The end of the year. So I’m out no matter what.
SPEAKER 08 :
And then what? What’s next for Joe Borelli?
SPEAKER 06 :
I think I’ll be heading to the private sector, Mike. I think 20 years in government has been enough time in New York City. And I think I’ve pushed the pendulum back a little bit. But now we need some fresh blood, some new blood. You know, I’m a big fan of getting some new vibrant life in politics.
SPEAKER 08 :
And a new fan of making some money for a change. You know, good for you. So you deserve it, you know. I think you deserve it. Councilman Joseph C. Borelli, appreciate you joining us. Keep fighting the good fight. We’ll see you soon in New York. Thank you, Mike. 12 before the hour. More coming up.
SPEAKER 12 :
This is what they said to me.
SPEAKER 08 :

SPEAKER 11 :
He’s the happy conservative warrior. From the Relief Factor studios, here’s Mike Geller.
SPEAKER 08 :
Moments ago, President Trump touched down at the Asheville airport in North Carolina. He’s going to tour the North Carolina hurricane damage because, as he put it, the Democrats have failed the people of North Carolina. You know the report of how the FEMA folks were avoiding… homes that had Trump signs in their yard was a heartbreaking reminder of how Democrats weaponize government and the system in order to punish people they disagree with. And that’s become their modus operandi. That’s going to be the real irony of criticism that Trump is going to get if he goes after any of his political opponents. They’re going to say, oh, he shouldn’t do that. Really? Really? You’re going to complain after what you did to him? And gosh, doesn’t this week feel good. What a joy it is to come to work and walk into this studio. Admittedly, I think often about how awful it would have been if she won. You know how hard it would have been to come in here to work and deal with all the crap they would have tried to throw at us? I don’t know that our country would have made it. And the American people stood up. And how different it is with this guy in the Oval Office. I mean, even just watching the President and the First Lady take the big steps. He doesn’t take the baby steps. He doesn’t take the short steps in the back of the plane because Joe Biden wasn’t even capable of walking up and down steps to an airplane. But there’s President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump going up the big steps, getting into that big giant 747 and heading to North Carolina. Here’s a reporter from One American News who points out about a tradition with a U.S. Marine stationed in front of the Oval Office and how often and how much duty that person has to have, that Marine has, as opposed to the last president.
SPEAKER 05 :
An observation that I have made, given the fact that I’ve covered the Biden administration throughout the week, throughout the weekends, generally speaking, there is a Marine standing outside the Oval Office whenever the president is in there working. The last two days here today and yesterday, myself being at the White House, that Marine is constantly outside the Oval Office signaling that the president is in there working for the American people. The Marine was never out there during the Biden administration. It was a very rare occurrence. If you did, the Marine was out there. It was very rare if it was. But by comparison, the Marine has always been out here the last two days. And when a lid was called yesterday, the lid was called around 7, 8 o’clock yesterday. the Marine remained out there after the lid was called, signaling that Donald Trump was working late into the night for the American people. Meanwhile, by comparison, lids during the Biden administration were routinely called at 11 a.m.

SPEAKER 10 :
Vivek Ramaswami. What happened to Vivek? He’s bowing out of Doge. It was going to be Elon and Vivek. And he all of a sudden says, no, Elon will do fine. I’m stepping away. The buzz for a couple of days was that it was to run for governor of Ohio, which I think would be awesome. But that’s and God bless governor of any big, important state. That doesn’t seem like the most riveting and compelling thing for a personality as big and a national figure as big as Vivek. So I don’t know. What do you think?
SPEAKER 08 :
I think he got in trouble because of that interview he gave where he talked about other workers, the whole, yep, the H-1 visa, that whole thing. Because it was after that that he sort of fell out of the spotlight. Look, there’s no way he’s saying, I’m going to leave the Trump administration to mull a run for Ohio governor.
SPEAKER 04 :
Come on.
SPEAKER 08 :
No, there’s more to that story. So, all right, turn the page.
SPEAKER 10 :
So who got frosted?
SPEAKER 08 :
Elon? Trump? Well, I think Trump did. I think Trump said, maybe, I don’t want that kind of fallout already. I don’t know. You know, Trump is funny about this. Reportedly, he doesn’t like people grabbing the spotlight away or making headlines unless he’s sort of large and in charge. I mean, there’s no question. He’s the boss.
SPEAKER 10 :
One of my favorite things, and this is largely a hater narrative, is that J.D. Vance is just so doggone awesome that he will start to grate on Trump before too much longer. I don’t believe that for a minute.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, and I don’t believe it either, but Elon is going to be an interest. That was the other thing I wanted to ask you about on our lightning rod here on a Friday, our lightning round, I should say.
SPEAKER 04 :
I think you mean lightning round, don’t you?
SPEAKER 08 :
I know, I did. It’s the computers. I’m still learning the tabs. Hold on. Let me change my tab here on my MacBook, my lone little MacBook. All right. How about Elon kind of contradicting Trump this week about the artificial intelligence AI infrastructure bill? Did you see that? Elon tweeted out, well, the money isn’t there. Well, the money is there. They just got $500 billion from Saudi Arabia. So, look, you got two A personalities. There’s been a lot of speculation that they’re going to clash at some point. And I don’t like Elon contradicting Trump. Trump stands up there and gives a press conference with Ellison and all these other guys. And then Elon turns around and says, well, the money’s not there. It’s not that big a deal. You don’t tell the boss, who thinks it’s a big deal… It’s not a big deal. But Elon does not view Trump as the boss. So you got that. Well, okay, Daily Beast. He doesn’t. No, you’re right.
SPEAKER 10 :
I think Elon views himself as a private sector partner with Trump. And by the way, Trump is fine with most days. I’d like to think that everybody gets over it. Because I would have also liked to think that if Vivek, for those who don’t know, Vivek came out with the H-1B thesis and said, listen, part of the reason we do kind of really need top flight talent from around the world is that American pipelines for STEM, for science and engineering and math, just aren’t filled with enough talent. There aren’t enough people in America interested in the discipline and the devotion to excellence to do that. And by the way, he’s not totally wrong about that. But about that, I feel about the way to do about other things. Give Americans the chance and the motivation and let’s see how many Americans we can find. And I think we’ll find enough.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, I’m going to give some unsolicited advice to Elon Musk. If he doesn’t really think Donald Trump is the boss, reconsider your thinking because he is the boss. Yeah, refocus and you need to pivot. All right. Now, how about another one? How about Trump ordering the declassification of the JFK, RFK, MLK files? Yep. Now, my kid calls me yesterday, my MAGA son. He said, Dad, what do you think? This is going to be big. This is going to be huge. And why do I think it’s not going to be that big a deal? Because it’s not. Do you?
SPEAKER 10 :
Because it’s just not. First of all, do I like it? Sure. Declassify everything that doesn’t need to be classified. You bet. I think there’s a lot of tinfoil hat conspiracy folks, and by the way, who are not always wrong, That from the JFK, especially the JFK, to the RFK. And this is so weird. This was in our youth. These three massive historic assassinations took place within four and a half years. It’s incredible to remember the turmoil caused by that from JFK to Bobby Kennedy to Dr. King. And around all of those, there’s going to be the supposition that there’s all kinds of things that we just don’t know, which, by the way, is probably true. Will we ever know? I don’t know. But the notion that the opening of these files will somehow yield some bombshell, I’m going to join you in betting not. But if it does. We’ll talk about it.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, let’s let the game come to us, as you like to say. You know, the big conspiracy theory about that day in Dallas from people these days, they think that it’s going to be revealed that the driver of the limousine shot him. Now, I’m going to go out on a limb here, and I’m going to say if the driver of JFK’s vehicle turned around and shot him, somebody might have noticed that. I don’t know.
SPEAKER 10 :
I’m feeling Abraham Zapruder’s camera might have picked that up.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, but that’s what they’re using. They’re using the Zapruder film, and they’re, like, freeze-framing it, and the driver, like, what the driver did was look back when the poor man’s head came off, you know? I mean, everybody was looking back, but, I mean, that’s the theory. All right, so, you know, turn the page on that. How about this one?
SPEAKER 10 :
Okay, he’s not done. You know what? While we’re in conspiracy land, can I— Can I wrestle one and go from things of enormous historical import to things that are just kind of silly? The conspiracy thing of the week surrounding why we haven’t seen a lot of Michelle Obama. Have you heard this one?
SPEAKER 08 :
I have. That the marriage is on the outs. Because Barack is about to take up with Jennifer Aniston. Okay. Didn’t have that on my bingo card.
SPEAKER 10 :
I didn’t either. And we’re in an era when nothing can be dismissed and almost nothing can be said as a zero possibility. But just to keep everybody’s mental health, put a pin in that. There’s zero reason to believe that’s true. Absolutely zero reason. So put a pin in it until there’s maybe a reason, unless they’re seen together shopping on Rodeo Drive. But until then, something.
SPEAKER 08 :
Look, as I always say, if winged monkeys swept down and flew me away, I wouldn’t be surprised about the things that happened in this crazy world of ours.
SPEAKER 10 :
Back to your list. What else you got?
SPEAKER 08 :
Lightning rod or round. That’s right. Representative Andy Ogles from Tennessee has drafted a constitutional amendment that would allow President Trump to run for a third term. However, here’s the best part. Here’s the best part of this goofy story. Here’s the funniest part of it. And incidentally, I’m all in.
SPEAKER 10 :
He’ll outlive all of us. He’ll be 107 going, I’m ready for five more. I’m ready. Let’s go.
SPEAKER 08 :
Let’s do it. He’s not going. I mean, he’s the only 70-something-year-old that’s going in the opposite direction of age. He’s younger now. He looks younger now than he did 10 years ago. I mean, the man goes from morning till night. However, the measure is worded to prevent Barack Obama, George W. Bush, or Bill Clinton from being able to return. How do you do that? It’s the way it’s worded. No person, since Obama, Bush, it’s only for presidents who didn’t serve two consecutive terms.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, gotcha. All right.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay, but hey, what the heck, a man can dream. And then finally, on a serious note. I just, Ken Paxton announced that the states have reached a settlement with the dreaded Sackler family of Purdue Pharma. $7.4 billion. And everybody wants to vilify this family that owns the pharmaceutical company. And Mark, am I the only person that struggles with the fact, okay, they own a pharmaceutical company. Pharmaceutical company comes up with pain relief. Yep. you know, drugs. People take pain relief drugs. People start abusing pain relief drugs. Maybe physicians abuse the dispensing of the prescriptions. But why is that the manufacturer’s fault?
SPEAKER 10 :
Blaming the bartender for drunk driving.
