In today’s ‘Rush to Reason,’ John Rush and Andy Pate provide a robust discussion of the current political climate, particularly regarding President Trump’s administration. Listen in as they break down various strategic moves and their expected timelines, explore Trump’s key appointments, and highlight areas of potential international focus. This episode offers insights into how these plans may shape the political stage over the coming months.
SPEAKER 04 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 11 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 04 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 13 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did. Get a job, Turk. You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life. That there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 11 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 12 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electric, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 03 :
All right, it is Tuesday. Welcome, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Appreciate you all joining us today. Myself, Andy Pate, Charlie Grimes. Always a lot to cover, especially with what we’ve seen, Andy, this past week. Boy, has it been great. Every day is Christmas. I’m loving it so much. It hasn’t, how should I say this? It hasn’t slowed down much. And I know at some point it will. I mean, what he’s doing, President Trump is doing in regards to, you know, getting things in gear and so on. I understand, Andy, it won’t last forever. I get that at some point things will settle down a little bit and it’ll be back to, you know, sort of business as usual. But I guess question for you before we do question of the day. Yeah, go ahead. How long do you think? That will be because I have my own thoughts. How long do you think what will be this this role? A lot of the things that he’s doing right now to get things going, get, you know, in other words, how long will it be until it’s sort of, you know, President Trump business as usual? What what’s your what are you thinking time frame wise on that?
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, it kind of comes in two stages, and here’s why. It’s going to be, I believe, golly, about another six to eight weeks, I think, before he gets a couple more Republicans back in the House to where they can actually do some stuff that actually goes through the House and then through the Senate. So everything he’s doing right now is just stuff he can do, he can do, he can do, he can do. And he’s going to do that rapid fire. I think that his rapid fire actions will probably only go another week or two. And then you’re basically going to see a lot coming out from his people. I mean, Tom Holman will be just a nonstop, he is everywhere kind of thing. And obviously, Kristi Noem is going to be huge on that regard, too. So I think a lot, what is going to happen is after just a few weeks, it’s going to be more his people doing a lot of this. It’s not going to be Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump. And I think by design, I think he’s going to want it that way. But I think he wants to, right up front, make it very clear, hey, man, it’s all about me. You know what? I could see him doing a lot more after the first couple weeks is leaning more into the overseas stuff, like what he did with Colombia, the demands he’s been making on China and so forth. That’s where Trump really gets he gets jazzed about that. He loves these overseas deals and, you know, talking. I think he’s going to want a new Abraham Accords and he’s going to want new trade deals with China, stuff like that. That’s where he gets really excited. I think what he’s doing is launching a lot of stuff early on and then he can kind of turn that over to the peeps. What do you think?
SPEAKER 03 :
I don’t think you’re that far off. I think it’ll be roughly 30 days or so, which, given what you just said, probably about the same number. So we’re both thinking correctly there. I do think then it will move into his appointees, the people that he’s got in charge of, everything from defense to education to you name it. On down the line we go. Different things that will happen along those lines.
SPEAKER 14 :
And he’ll always be hands-on.
SPEAKER 03 :
Don’t get me wrong.
SPEAKER 14 :
He’s not going to be gone like Joe Biden. I’m just saying not at this frenetic pace.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, it will not be like it is now. Today, announcing that he’s basically turning the water on to California. That was awesome. Things like that. I mean, those are not going to go on forever, and I get that. And for those of you that are listening, no, it will not be that way forever. It will come down to a sort of a normal pace. Although, Andy, I think there’s enough things on Trump’s agenda, to your point, even some of the things regarding overseas things we need to get taken care of, potential tariffs, getting countries back in line, you know, really running around the world, if you would, saying, listen. this is you know this is the old usa that’s now back this is no longer right you know the apology tour in fact this isn’t even my first term this is my first term 20 you know this is a much better term or going to be a much better term than even i had the last time around oh and this is going to be even a different america than it was the last time around so guys buckle up
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, I just think that, and keep in mind also, his people are not in place yet. They’re getting confirmed one by one by one by one. But what I think is going to happen is once he can finally turn over the reins here in the country, and by the way, one thing that makes it a lot easier is this time around he has an absolute juggernaut at vice president. He didn’t have that last time. Now he does. And so, you know, let’s face it, Vance is going to handle a lot of that. But I foresee Trump and Rubio because let’s face it, man, they’re a team overseas. Trump loves Rubio and Rubio loves Trump. They agree. And I see Trump and Rubio becoming just dominant on the world stage.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, my prediction as far as all that goes, and I could be wrong, although I don’t, I think if you look at this in a natural progression, first 30 days getting a lot of these things that we’ve just got them talking about in order, getting those things done, getting your people in place and so on. I see his next big challenge, you got to end this war in Ukraine. That’ll be his next big thing he really focuses on and gets done.
SPEAKER 14 :
Exactly. Overseas, stuff like that. Well, let me give you an example. You’re already seeing Trump phase down. We’re seeing a little bit less and less of Trump on the border stuff. Why?
SPEAKER 03 :
He doesn’t need to. He doesn’t need to.
SPEAKER 14 :
He’s got home in a gnome. Right. You know what I mean? He’s got them in place. They got this.
SPEAKER 03 :
Turn it over, let them do their thing, and move on.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 03 :
Absolutely. All right. Question of the day yesterday’s was, what year did the Byzantine Empire fall, marking the end of the Middle Ages in Europe? That was 1453.
SPEAKER 1 :
1453.
SPEAKER 03 :
Today’s question of the day, what is the name of the theoretical particle that carries the force of gravity in quantum mechanics? What is the name of the theoretical particle that carries the force of gravity in quantum physics? Sorry, my microphone was in the way of my – I have to steer through this thing.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, I’ve heard this particle is also very theatrical, very extroverted. I don’t know.
SPEAKER 03 :
I really don’t. This is way out of my league. So anyways, if you know the answer, answer that. And several things we’re going to roll into here as soon as we get back, so don’t go anywhere. SPEAKER 04 :
God. Country. Reason. Now back to John Rush.
SPEAKER 03 :
All right, we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Myself, Andy Pate. Andy, you got a question?
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, I do. Speaking of J.D. Vance, who, let’s face it, he is a superhero. Someone get him a cape. Okay, he went on with Margaret Brennan in a very infamous interview. Have you played any of it?
SPEAKER 03 :
Talked about it briefly yesterday, but didn’t play any.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, long story short, at one point, she asks him, and this just blows my mind, she asks him, well, you know, are you actually saying that they’re going to go, or no, no, no, I’m sorry, he commented on this, but Tom Holman went into more depth on this. So, okay, when Tom Holman was asked, he was asked, are you actually going to be going into hospitals and schools? you know, to get illegal immigrants and so forth. And he’s just like, yes, absolutely. We’re going to be going in. John. What is the matter with these people? I mean, don’t they seem to understand? Did they just wake up? Here’s what really angers me. These are people in the media. They know the issue. They understand full well what happens if we tell illegal immigrants or, say, terrorists or any criminal, right? Here are the places we won’t go. Go hide there. Yeah. What’s going to happen? Where are they going to hide?
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s what they do. They go hide there.
SPEAKER 14 :
They’re going to go straight to the hospitals and schools. Okay, so, John, where is probably the last place that you want a bunch of dangerous illegal aliens to be?
SPEAKER 03 :
Hospitals and schools. Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Hello?
SPEAKER 03 :
The places they’re advertising.
SPEAKER 14 :
What is the matter with these people?
SPEAKER 03 :
They have no brain, Andy. I’m sorry. They’re brainless.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, we’re going to go into those. We’re going to go into churches. We’re going to go into hospitals. We’re going to go into schools. You know what? Those are the first places we’re going to go in.
SPEAKER 03 :
I mean, keep in mind, Andy, and I’ve said this a lot about politicians, but I’ll say the same thing about a lot of quote unquote. These are, by the way, not journalists. These are newscasters because they read a teleprompter and they they read what’s literally fed to them.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s fair.
SPEAKER 03 :
So you’re right. Bottom line, they are pretty brainless individuals that know how to speak and look good in front of camera. And to their credit, most of them do. Right. So I’ll give credit where credit’s due. But when it comes to thinking outside of the teleprompter and trying to make decisions even for themselves, I’m not sure most of them know what to do for dinner. And I’m not exaggerating when I say that, Andy.
SPEAKER 14 :
Do you think that they, because of that, are in a lot of trouble with J.D. Vance? I know this seems like an easy answer, but think about it for a moment. They have had a lot of politicians who have come down their way, like Mike Pence before, who they would give these scripted questions to and our guy would give these scripted answers to. We didn’t have people who could think on their feet like this before. They’re dealing with a whole different animal.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, yeah, and this goes with what I was saying yesterday. I kind of ended yesterday’s program talking about how – and I’m sorry, and I keep saying I’m sorry. Maybe I shouldn’t say I’m sorry, but let me just say it this way. The reality is, by and large, not all – But it’s probably down to less than 10 percent of politicians on any level. And, folks, I mean, you’re left or right, left or right. And I’m talking left or right. I’m talking your local county city government mayors all the way up to president of the United States. The reality is only 10 percent or less. literally have a brain, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that. The majority of politicians are very unintelligent. I consider them low IQ people that for some reason or another have figured out a way to get elected. Somebody either convinced them or they thought it would be worth running. And yes, they’re smart enough to be able to align themselves or be bought off by the right people to go ahead and get into office. But the reality is they’re not very bright people. Meaning, Ann, Andy, when it comes to the interviews, they’ve been interviewing most of these unintelligent, non-bright people.
SPEAKER 14 :
They’re not used to this.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, they’re not used to people being smart in that role.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right.
SPEAKER 03 :
Sorry, Andy, they’re not.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s like another question Margaret Brennan, she asked J.D. Vance, you know, well, because he talks about somebody who came in and she says, and this guy committed violence later. And he says, look, he wasn’t. You know, vet, vet. That’s what he was talking about.
SPEAKER 03 :
The vetting of people. Right, right, right, right. He says people that no matter what this administration says, they’re not vetted.
SPEAKER 14 :
She says people have been vetted. And he says, look, I don’t think a lot of them have been vetted. And at one point she says, yes, but we don’t know if he had been radicalized after he got here.
SPEAKER 03 :
Right.
SPEAKER 14 :
And what does he say? Margaret, I don’t care. I don’t want him in my country.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, bottom line is I don’t care. He wasn’t vetted. It doesn’t matter whether he was radicalized before, during, or after. The reality is he shouldn’t be here.
SPEAKER 14 :
What the hell is the man doing here?
SPEAKER 03 :
I’m paraphrasing, but that’s basically what he said.
SPEAKER 14 :
These people, I don’t think they understand.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, they don’t, Andy.
SPEAKER 14 :
And sooner or later, some Republicans are going to start… Because when they… A lot of these interviewers are throwing out basically this idea that, well, immigrants commit crimes at a lower percentage, a lower rate than American citizens. By the way, I’ll bet that’s true. You know why? They’re hiding. Okay, so on average, I would assume that they are. But it’s like, folks… Every crime by an immigrant, by an illegal immigrant, somebody who shouldn’t be here, is added crime.
SPEAKER 03 :
Right. Because you wouldn’t have had it otherwise.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right. Okay. I can’t just erase all the murders that are going to be committed by American citizens. However, I can erase all the potential murders that are going to be committed by violent, illegal immigrants simply by removing them. Correct. OK, everything they do is added. Everything they steal is added theft. Everything everyone they kill is an added murder. Everyone they rape is an added rape. It’s all added and it didn’t have to be.
SPEAKER 03 :
Agree. So, again, I really feel like Andy and I it’s funny you bring that up because I was talking about it last night before going off air and I talk about it quite often. Yeah. And I’ll be quite frank for all of you listening. When I got into doing The Daily Show, because I did the weekend program for a long, long time, 20-plus years, 25 years now. So when I started doing The Daily Program, you know, one of the things that comes naturally with this particular position in the shows that we do and so on in talk radio is you interview and in some cases even promote people. And try to help some get elected. Right. A lot of politicians. It’s part of what goes with this job. So right off the bat, Andy, and this is some 13 years ago or so, I started interviewing some of these politicians. And I’m new. I mean, I’m a newbie at that point. I don’t have a degree in journalism. I’ve never been to college. Andy. I mean, I’m a business guy and had done even the Saturday show along the lines of car questions and helping people out with that and so on. And yeah, I’d met a few politicians along the way, but I’ll be honest, I definitely wasn’t immersed in it like I am now. So I didn’t know a lot of these individuals. So these people would come in and some would be on the phone, some would come into the studio, and I would sit here and I would have these conversations with these individuals. And at that point, I’m a novice, Andy. I’m a green bean. I don’t have the foggiest idea what I’m doing. I’ll be the first one to say that. I mean, Yes, I knew business and I knew that end of things, but I didn’t know their world very well. So I’m asking questions and learning and thinking, wow, these are people that I have a lot of respect for. They’re running for office or they’re currently in office. They’re running for reelection. Unfortunately, though, Andy, for a lot of them, as they’re walking out the door, I’m thinking to myself. They’re not very bright. Right. And literally, I’m thinking to myself, these are not very bright people. And then I start meeting different leaders in our party and different things along those lines and start having those conversations. And once again, I’m thinking, these are people that know how to reiterate something over and over again. But when it comes to thinking for themselves, these are not bright people.
SPEAKER 14 :
I know.
SPEAKER 03 :
And I was disappointed, by the way.
SPEAKER 14 :
I know. As you know, I debate a number of them online. Right. And you can always tell the ones who have to go get help. Talk to the party lawyer. Talk to whoever. Get a few of their team together because there are huge delays in their responses, even though they’re right there. Right. And when they want to say something, boom, it’s right there. And then you say, okay, what about this, this, this, and this? Three hours later.
SPEAKER 03 :
You get an answer.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, and it’s not because, well, they had to go shopping.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, it’s because they’re trying to find the right answer. Yeah, they’re getting their team together. They’re getting info fed to them, Andy. Let’s say it that way.
SPEAKER 14 :
Exactly, to try to put together a response. And you’re just like, you know… Dude, why don’t you just sit down and talk to me?
SPEAKER 03 :
I’m right here. Well, I already know that answer.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, they’re afraid.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, they can’t, Andy.
SPEAKER 14 :
They’re not capable.
SPEAKER 03 :
They’re not bright enough. I don’t know what other word to use. They don’t have enough IQ. They’re not bright enough. They just can’t do that in their setting, I guess you could say. They’re just not capable of doing so.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right. And by the way, some are. Some are very capable.
SPEAKER 03 :
Some are brilliant.
SPEAKER 14 :
And I’m telling you what, man, they are refreshing. When you watch a DeSantis go to work with these, DeSantis may still, he is still, I think, even better than J.D. Well, it’s about a tie. But he’ll handle a bunch of reporters and their questions easily. He tears them limb from limb.
SPEAKER 03 :
It’s amazing. And there are some politicians in Washington and probably in each individual state, and I could, you know, rattle some of those off. And by the way, we’ve got one that I interview quite often, you know, the head of the school districts, you know, head of public schools in, you know, Ryan Walters down in Oklahoma, you know, very, very smart, intelligent individual. Very bright guy. Very sharp. You talk about the Ted Cruz’s of the world. You talk about J.D. Vance, and you talk about, as you just said a moment ago, Ron DeSantis and Jim Jordan. Yeah, there are some out there. Kelsey Gabbert. Very sharp. There are some really sharp individuals along those lines. Think about all of the politicians that are out there, even all the ones that are in D.C., whatever, 300 or so of them that are there, Andy. And again, I could get that down to about 30, maybe less, that are really sharp, intelligent people that are not just doing what their marching orders are. Well, I wish there were more. I wish there were, too. And this is something, by the way, back in our founding of the country.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, it wasn’t that way, folks.
SPEAKER 14 :
No, they were sharp.
SPEAKER 03 :
It really was the best and the brightest of the country at that time that were really not only setting the foundation of this country, but then helping to run the country. And most of them felt it as a volunteer position. They would do it for a year or two, and in a lot of cases give up everything to go do that. They would go back into private life, and then the next person would come in and do that over again. And sadly, Andy— As time went on, and it probably really started accelerating, I believe, after the Civil War, things really started to turn a different direction. And I don’t know exactly – I’m not a historian. I can’t go back and tell you specifically what changed in – in the world of politics as to why less and less smart people ran. Well, I think it became more visual. It became more visual and became more of a burden to do so. A lot of really sharp business owners, for example, looked at that and said, why would I give up everything over here to go over here and literally be judged, my family be judged and live this miserable life? And that’s what I think happened initially. Unfortunately, then it didn’t become a miserable life. It became AOC who enters in a pauper and then shortly thereafter has several million dollars to her name. And that just keeps growing and growing and growing if you get my drift.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, yeah, I know. I mean, and let’s look at all government officials. Fauci’s worth 80 million. Oh, come on.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, ridiculous.
SPEAKER 14 :
How?
SPEAKER 03 :
How? It’s wrong. It shouldn’t be that way, Andy.
SPEAKER 14 :
But anyway, getting back to my original question. Does J.D. Vance simply change the equation for these next four years on his own?
SPEAKER 03 :
In that office, absolutely he does.
SPEAKER 14 :
Because, I mean, the spin of the message coming out of the White House is going to be more him than Trump. He is going to be in far more of, it was just like during the campaign.
SPEAKER 03 :
He’ll be more of the face of it for sure, yes.
SPEAKER 14 :
He did more interviews in the campaign than the other three candidates combined.
SPEAKER 03 :
Absolutely.
SPEAKER 14 :
And then you multiply it by two.
SPEAKER 03 :
Absolutely.
SPEAKER 14 :
I think they’ve got a real problem in trying to dominate the narrative when he’s around.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, on top of that, and we can talk more about this throughout the show today, but on top of that, and we’ve talked about this a little bit on the roundtable that we record on Wednesdays, and that is the simple fact that mainstream media, the nightly news, weekend news, Sunday morning, and so on, television, I guess you could say, is continually losing its grip and its influence upon americans because a lot of people just aren’t watching those things any longer they’re getting their news from other places they’re listening to am radio and folks like us they’re going to social media and x and other places where they feel like they’re getting a lot more unbiased opinion as to what’s going on And they’re getting a lot more education from those individuals than they are on the nightly, daily news and folks like The View and so on. So the reality is more and more of that, Andy, I think is going to continue to lose its grip, where at one point in time, let’s face it, they did dominate. They had the grip on most Americans.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, I think it’s a lot harder, John, for like CNN to bully these candidates when CNN is looking around and seeing all their buddies laid off.
SPEAKER 03 :
I saw a notice today where I think, Charlie, you probably did as well. Several of the big networks right now are looking at massive layoffs because they know that their future doesn’t look well. Telling you everything that we just said was correct, Andy. They don’t have the same grip they once had.
SPEAKER 14 :
They’re losing their current.
SPEAKER 03 :
They’re losing it. And part of that is the progression of, you know, cutting the cable, cutting the cord, whatever you want to say. People are going online to get things. They’re watching television shows that they like without commercials. They’re doing all sorts of other things along those lines to where the networks themselves just aren’t doing as well, financially speaking, because the viewership’s not there.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, of course, and it also came on the heels of losing their complete dominance of big tech. When Elon turned X, that changed things a lot because there was no big tech right-wing outlet really on big tech to counter what they were doing. So now when they put out a bunch of absolute nonsense, they get just swarmed under.
SPEAKER 03 :
And that’s changing everything. It’s not just because, by the way, Zuckerberg had a great revelation, spiritual awakening and turnaround. No, what Zuckerberg is looking at is, oh, wait a minute. If we don’t change our end, that guy over there is going to continue to eat our lunch. Even though X is just breaking even right now, that won’t be that way for long. And Elon knows that. And the reality is Elon has bigger plans with X besides just what he’s doing there. That’s a whole other topic probably for another day. But you’re looking at folks like Google and Meta basically saying, oh, if we don’t change our ways, we’re going to get left in the dust.
SPEAKER 14 :
Big tech dominance protected the media dominance.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, that’s not there any longer.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right.
SPEAKER 03 :
And that’s why you’re seeing layoffs inside of networks. And my prediction is you’re going to see more of them. And by the way, if the networks were smart, this is a little bit of advice for them. I know they’re not listening, but if they were smart, Andy, they would become more like X, become more relevant, quit having the bias that they’ve always had for the left. And if they do that, they might actually see a turnaround and actually have people watch them in the future.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, you mean like they could actually interview people like J.D. Vance and not debate him?
SPEAKER 03 :
Correct. Have an actual interview.
SPEAKER 14 :
Every single one of their interviews still is a debate.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 14 :
Every interview with the right is a debate. Every interview with the left is an interview.
SPEAKER 03 :
And that’s an old saying, Andy.
SPEAKER 14 :
And people don’t like that.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, there’s an old saying, money talks. Even though the Marxist movement is huge and they’re trying to shove a lot of these things down our throats, the reality is money still talks. And the people that are the heads of these particular entities that are watching these things fail as time goes on, one of two things will happen. They’ll either totally collapse due to their Marxist roots. Right. Or they’ll have to have an about face on that and change what they’re doing and be more like what Elon’s doing with X. Right. I agree. All right, we’ll be back. We’ll talk more about that plus other things. I’ve got a dumb idea, by the way, that we’re going to talk about as soon as we come back. Oh, those are my favorite. And it’s coming from our side, but it’s a dumb idea. Veteran Windows and Doors is next. What’s not a dumb idea is upgrading Windows and Doors and getting things dialed in when it comes to that. Talk to Dave today, by the way. The deal through the end of the week is 35% off Windows, 45% off Doors, and free installation. Talk to him today. Just go to klzradio.com and look for Veteran Windows.
SPEAKER 10 :
Veteran Windows and Doors never uses gimmicky high-pressure salespeople. In fact, when you work with veterans, you get the owner, Dave Bancroft. Dave will never try to manipulate you or use silly tricks upselling you. Big window companies will show you a heat lamp test that is supposed to impress you. But what does that really tell you about your windows? Other companies omit the pertinent information. And just because the window or door says Provia, it does not mean their products are engineered for Colorado or even anywhere in the U.S. dave prefers to be the last window and door company you meet with so he can give you all the information the others fail to reveal like the u-factor efficiency ratings and even if it’s energy star certified and of course don’t forget the tax rebates many people didn’t know they could receive just talk to any of veterans previous clients and they will be the first to tell you Get your high-quality windows and doors without all the gimmicks. Reach veteran windows and doors by going to klzradio.com.

American Stonehenge by Mike Goldstein is more than just a children’s book. It’s a way to connect with the children in your life and encourage them to read to you and for themselves. When Mike Goldstein started writing American Stonehenge, he went after a specific problem. Children today don’t think for themselves, and test scores nationwide show that. American Stonehenge is gorgeously put together, so it’ll draw their attention. It’s filled with action. The prose flows as smooth as sand through an hourglass. and it’s historically accurate from the stories and the illustrations. But it’s also a portal to quality time with children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. It’s a way to connect with them while tacitly teaching them the importance of critical thought and giving them a break from scrolling in their free time. Find American Stonehenge on klzradio.com and bring your family together this holiday season.
SPEAKER 12 :
Back to Rush to Reason, presented by Hi-5 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electric, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 03 :
All right, we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. I told you a moment ago that I would come back with, in my opinion, one of the dumbest ideas ever. And yes, please let me explain. There are some individuals, more than one. And I go back to what I was talking about prior to this segment. But in this particular case, we have, and I don’t know this gentleman. I don’t know how smart he is or isn’t. Well, I can already tell you he’s not very smart. U.S. Representative Andy Ogles, who wants to amend the U.S. Constitution to allow a president who has not served consecutive terms in office to run for a third term. In other words, he wants Trump to actually run again. Again, I said dumb ideas, Andy. I said dumb ideas. This is one of them.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s the new Coke of political ideas. Donald Trump doesn’t want to run again? And nor do we want him to. He picked a successor, and he’s thrilled with him.
SPEAKER 03 :
And furthermore, we don’t want to set this precedent moving forward as well. So, dumb idea.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s a ridiculous precedent. You don’t want to set it. But don’t people… I mean, look, guys… And it makes our side look dumb, by the way. Yeah, it makes us look like a cult. It makes us look like… We think that he is the only one. And meanwhile, Donald Trump is looking back at us saying, no, I’m not. I love Tom Homan. I love my vice president. I love Pam Bondi. I love this one, this one, this one.
SPEAKER 03 :
I’m going to leave you with a nice legacy of individuals that will help you keep moving forward.
SPEAKER 14 :
We have so many on our side. Ron DeSantis is another one. We have so many on our side that are powerhouses. Right? I mean, obviously, bad precedent. I get it. But looking even past the idiocy of that. It’s just a dumb idea. It’s hard to look past the idiocy of that.
SPEAKER 03 :
Dumb.
SPEAKER 14 :
But even looking past it, what I mean is this, John. We have the strongest bench I’ve ever seen in my life.
SPEAKER 03 :
Right. Why screw that up?
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes. I mean, my gosh.
SPEAKER 03 :
Literally, why screw that up?
SPEAKER 14 :
A Vance DeSantis ticket, which is where I think we’re headed, okay? And I don’t know that. I don’t know that. Hard to say. At this point, too early to know. Oh, yeah, totally. But if you were to say… Hey, Andy, right now, you want to put $20 on a ticket? Okay, well, that would be my most likely pick would be Vance DeSantis. But there are any combination of basically five or six different people. You could throw Rubio in there. You’ve got the governor of Virginia. You’ve got several others. Yeah, I think Noam would be a struggle, but…
SPEAKER 03 :
A lot of time between now and even when that decision gets made.
SPEAKER 14 :
At least the book thing would be much more in the past. And she’s going to be dominant in her new role. Rubio, once again.
SPEAKER 03 :
Sharp guy.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, my gosh.
SPEAKER 03 :
Sharp guy, young enough guy, by the way, that if he just places cards right, could eventually be our first Latino president with no problem.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 03 :
Right.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah. Well, that’s the only problem we have right now is we have too many good ones. There’s a ton. Vance DeSantis Rubio right there. You have three that are equally overwhelming. All three of them are basically unbeatable.
SPEAKER 03 :
Right. So if I were them, by the way, and this is my advice, I know they don’t listen, but my advice is, guys, keep doing your thing, keep learning, keep growing, and guess what? Your day will come. Yeah. Just keep growing, and your day will come.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, but Donald, first of all, bad president, but secondly, Donald doesn’t want to run again. He’s happy as can be.
SPEAKER 03 :
But Andy, again, I hate to say this, but this goes back to my point that we opened up with. politicians are not very smart people now because and i don’t know this person i’m not trying to talk bad about him but I can tell you right now, this is a dumb idea. Don’t put this out, Mr. Tennessean. He’s from Tennessee. Again, don’t know the person, but dumb idea.
SPEAKER 14 :
I like Tennessee. By the way, Tennessee is one of the fastest growing states in the country. I don’t know if you know that.
SPEAKER 03 :
Oh, yeah. A lot of people in Colorado are going there, by the way.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, people are moving there by the droves. Okay, let me ask you this. You know, a lot of people are saying that Trump’s got to act fast, act fast, act fast because he’s only got two years because then we’re going to lose the House.
SPEAKER 03 :
If you play your cards right, that’s not necessarily the case.
SPEAKER 14 :
The way things are going, how sure are you that we’re actually going to lose the House? I know midterms are rough on a president.
SPEAKER 03 :
And I know there are ways away and there’s lots of things.
SPEAKER 14 :
But is this a different kind of thing?
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, it is right now. And if you look at even the – we talked about the networks earlier.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right.
SPEAKER 03 :
And this is where the left has got it so wrong. They’re going after things that people are coming back and it’s happening as we speak. We’ve got Hollywood stars that are coming out talking about how they feel so sorry for –
SPEAKER 14 :
immigrants and this that or the other and they’re literally getting waylaid on social media for that response and people are basically saying you are clueless as to what’s going on in this country exactly i mean john once again i think i mentioned this with you last week the uh democrats the reason the house is so close is because the democrats won all the late races in california no i do not i just don’t trust california okay i think they cheat because they are california yeah but no doubt Okay, folks, California is surging rightward. There is no question, and that is not going to die off within two years. A lot of those close races could go back our way. We could claim, say, three House seats in Southern California that were close before. We could claim those, and that doesn’t even take into account how many people around the country are thrilled that Donald Trump is getting rid of people who wanted to kill us. I don’t know, man. I don’t know that the midterms look that bad.
SPEAKER 03 :
By the way, I did look up a little bit really quick while you were talking about our friend Andy Ogles, which looks like he’s done some good work. I’m sure he has. He’s a part of the— Liberty Caucus? Yeah, and he’s a part of the Laffer Institute at one point and so on. Great. But was one of the original 19 members to vote against Kevin McCarthy.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, gosh. No, gosh.
SPEAKER 03 :
So what does that tell you, Andy? Dumb. Dumb. That kind of reiterates my point from earlier. Sorry.
SPEAKER 14 :
I watched Kevin McCarthy again this morning on Fox News, and he is wonderful. He is one of Trump’s biggest advocates, by the way. And he is so eloquent. He is so good. And we got rid of him to try to put… Because of Matt Gaetz leading an uprising and losing us three House seats in the process. It’s like, folks… You’ve got to have some strategy. You have to have some strategy.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yes. How dumb. Again, not bright. It goes back to what I opened up the show with, and I’m not trying to be hard on politicians, but what I want you all to do is please start opening your eyes. This is part of the problem, and Andy, you’re going to talk more about this throughout the show, part of the problem we have here locally in our Colorado GOP, is we have to start opening our eyes and really looking at the candidates themselves and what are we doing to win these particular seats. Because frankly, folks, here in Colorado especially, if we don’t start taking a smarter approach with even the candidate themselves, male, female, if we don’t start looking at that correctly and putting our best and brightest and sharpest in front, we are not going to win. And I’ll tell you right now, over the course of the last decade plus that I’ve been on this program, We have not done that.
SPEAKER 14 :
No, we have not.
SPEAKER 03 :
I’m just being straight up honest. We have not done that.
SPEAKER 14 :
Last question before we go to break. If your last name was Ogles, do you change it?
SPEAKER 03 :
Probably.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 03 :
And again, he might be a very nice gentleman. He’s probably a great guy. Might be a great guy to sit and chat with. But when you do things like this and you put this out, you now just tainted, for a short time I know, but you’ve now tainted our party as being a cult. Yes. How do you look undumb when you do that? It’s hard to. I mean, you look so dumb doing that. Unfortunately, we probably have some here in Colorado that would second his motion.
SPEAKER 14 :
I know. I guarantee it’s the same people who want us to opt out of the open primary, no matter what.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, we’ll talk. Got a lot to talk about. Don’t worry, we’ll be right back. Hi-Fi Plumbing and Electrical is next. And if you’ve got a plumbing problem, drainage, things freezing, you’ve had issues electrically speaking, you want to add an outlet, whatever the case, give Hi-Fi a call today, 877-WE-HI-5.

SPEAKER 03 :
All right, we are back. And, Andy, let’s close out with this. We’ve got plenty of time. No more commercials because I combined everything there just a moment ago. There are some things going on inside of our own state right now with our Colorado GOP. We’ll talk more about that in hour two and three. But right now we have got our representatives, those that won in spite of our current GOP leadership. They have signed a letter basically telling Dave Williams and the leadership here that, hey, we as representatives of Colorado on a national level do not like the direction that you’re headed when it comes to rewriting your bylaws and essentially having a smaller nucleus of people that now get to vote on and decide the future of the party. I’m paraphrasing, but that’s essentially what this letter says.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right. The bottom line is this. Overwhelmingly, the state… candidates that we did get elected here in colorado they are all part of the state central committee which means they can vote on leadership each one come march getting a vote each one gets one vote and dave is proposing bylaws to where each group of them is only one vote okay collectively now get one right and uh basically what you want to do when you want to become a bigger fish Shrink the pond. Of course. Okay. And so he’s trying to shrink the pond.
SPEAKER 03 :
You have to have a supporter so you yourself can retain power.
SPEAKER 14 :
And he’s trying to shrink it specifically from the group that does not support him. The people are elected officials, Republican elected officials. There are a few who support him. Overwhelmingly, they don’t. And by the way, those few he could he could probably select from them.
SPEAKER 03 :
The one that he knows he’d get the most votes from.
SPEAKER 14 :
Exactly. Okay.
SPEAKER 03 :
Real quick, on top of that, we’ve even got some local senators here in Colorado that have combined together to say, yeah, we support those representatives as well. So this is now coming from different sides. In other words, these letters to Dave and the leadership in the Colorado GOP, there is more of them now coming in saying, stop this nonsense.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right, because it’s a power grab.
SPEAKER 03 :
It is a naked power grab. Is it tomorrow or tomorrow night? The 30th? Yeah, I think so. Not tomorrow, Thursday. My bad. Today’s only Tuesday. It’s a complete power grab. It’s a Zoom meeting on Thursday that Dave’s put together to make this vote happen.
SPEAKER 14 :
Really quick here. So after a letter was put out by Lauren Boebert, Jeff Crank, Gabe Evans, Jeff Hurd, those are our four elected members of the House. They are the four highest elected members in the state of Colorado for the Republican Party. You with me? Okay. After saying those things, then they get shockingly personal. And this really shocked me with Boebert. OK, because she’s part of the same Liberty wing that Dave Williams is part of. But here’s what they said. Under Chairman Dave Williams, the Colorado GOP has been plagued by infighting and distractions that have undermined our ability to deliver for the people of Colorado. Instead of reaching out to successful candidates and their campaigns after the primary, OK, instead of reaching out to us, Chairman Williams refused to repair relationships and offer his support from subjective endorsements of candidates in primaries against the traditions of our party to proposing bylaw changes that shield leadership from accountability. His actions have repeatedly divided the party. Whoa. His actions have repeatedly divided the party. This is not the leadership our voters or activists deserve, and it is not the leadership that will help Republicans win in Colorado. Wow.
SPEAKER 03 :
So I asked Andy this question, and we’re not going to get the answer now. I’ll save this. We’ll do this. We’ve got a special guest from Open the Books, John Hart, who is CEO of Open the Books. We’ll talk to him first when we get into the 4 o’clock hour, and then I want Andy to give his insight onto a few things related to this because I asked Andy a moment ago during the break, and again, we’ll talk about this, teasing you guys for this particular topic that we’ll talk about later in the next hour, and that is who’s really pulling the strings and running the The Colorado GOP, because as I’ve said in this earlier hour, earlier this hour, because I’ve talked to Dave Williams before. I have interviewed him prior to him becoming the Colorado GOP chair. He has not come on this program since because I don’t think he. I don’t think he feels strong enough that he can come on this program, whether I’m alone or with Andy together. I don’t think he feels like he can debate us well enough so he won’t come on this program. I’ve given that invitation so many times.
SPEAKER 01 :
It’s been an open invitation.
SPEAKER 03 :
He will not come on and have this debate because, frankly, he can’t debate us. That’s my feeling on it. for several reasons. So my feeling with Dave is he’s also one of these politicians that, frankly, just isn’t super bright. I’m sorry. He is not behind even a lot of these rule changes. These things are coming from others on that end of the party, and I want Andy to give me what his thoughts are because I have some of my own thoughts on that as well. But for those of you listening that are hardcore on that side, huge Dave supporters, let me give you a little insight. Dave is not your leader. He is your puppet. He is not your leader.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, I would think that Joe Altman is one of those leading the way. I don’t know Dave. I do know that the people under him, Hope, Darcy, and Ann, none of them can debate. I do know that. They run from a debate faster than Carl Lewis. Right. Okay. And with Dave, I just don’t know him. I know Joe Altman is very powerful in that group. I would think that the two at Rhino Watch… weigh heavily in that group. What are the names again?
SPEAKER 03 :
Chuck and Julie.
SPEAKER 14 :
Chuck and Julie. I would think Matt Arnold, who is now… Because Matt Arnold knows how to weaponize the legal system.
SPEAKER 03 :
And by the way, Matt… And that is what they do constantly. And I will give credit where credit’s due. Matt is not a low IQ individual. No. No, I don’t… I don’t agree with all of his approaches to things. And at one point in time, I had a lot of respect for Matt. I thought he was a pretty good patriot and did a lot of things for the state of Colorado. Those are not my views today, by the way. I don’t see Matt that same way today.
SPEAKER 14 :
There are still a good number of issues. I’m sure I agree with Matt on them. Obviously, Second Amendment and so forth. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 03 :
But Matt’s approach is not the way I would do things.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right. And there are some others… who we’ve interacted with before that we know of whose names I really shouldn’t mention. Right. But who are the intelligentsia behind what Dave is doing to try to do this power grab? I would think it’s pretty much that group. What do you think?
SPEAKER 03 :
It’s not Dave. Sorry, Dave’s not sharp enough to think of these things on his own. And if somebody out there listening thinks they know this answer or they’ve been in these meetings and they know this is where this is coming from, I would love for you to either text or call me and tell me that’s the case. But I’m guessing most of you probably don’t know.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, we’ve got a few seconds to close. Dave says he wants to literally debate these four House members on these bylaws.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, right. How do you think that would go, John? With three of them, not so well. He might be able to debate one of them, and I’ll talk about that more next hour as well. We’ll come right back. Hour number two is next. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 1 :
I’m a rich guy.
