SPEAKER 02 :
All right, going kind of the other direction from this last review, because this is more of kind of a staple car that most anybody can own and operate if they’re in that market for this particular size of vehicle. That’s a 2025 Hyundai Tucson XRT.
SPEAKER 01 :
Yes. So this is, again, a little bit different car, Dad, but very competitive. We’ve driven Tucson’s in the past. It’s updated for 2025. There’s new infotainment system, new controls. It looks different. It looks a little bit more aggressive, which I really like. They redesigned it back in 2022. So this is kind of like a mid-cycle refresh, I guess you could say that. It gives you roomy interior. Plenty of room to get, and I know you and I talked about this, which you don’t care about as much, but that’s the car seat factor, right? You can get two booster seats in the back of this car. You can get however you want to apportion it. You can do that. As we know with Hyundai, Dad, and how they’ve apportioned these cars, they’ve made them really easy, right? They come very well apportioned for the value. And this car, just so folks know, as it sits, 36,240, Dad. So right there in the mid-30s. all-wheel drive vehicle. It’s got a, let me see here, two-and-a-half-liter, four-cylinder engine, the eight-speed automatic transmission. Dad, this thing isn’t going to be a burner, but it’s not meant to be. No, it’s not.
SPEAKER 02 :
This is a car that you can get into. Great, everyday, reliable, you know, transportation. And to your point, if you go look at this compared to other vehicles in its class, this one will have better interior creature comforts than what most of its competitors have.
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, they will. And you even get some features that other cars don’t have. For example, and I know some people may not think it’s a big deal, wireless car play in Android Auto. Wireless device charging. You’ve got Hyundai Digital Key, which for folks who don’t know, basically you can put the key on your phone. You don’t even need… a key anymore for a lot of these cars, Dad. And so for the price point, really hard to beat. In terms of fuel economy, Dad, $24,000 and $30,000 for an average of $26,000, which is great. Again, especially for what this car is around town. In the mid-30s, Dad, which I think that $36,000 price point is right around, maybe even less than what the average new car costs nowadays.
SPEAKER 02 :
Oh, yeah, and then they’re in the 50s, so you’re well under that, absolutely.
SPEAKER 01 :
Yeah, so if you’re a younger family looking for reliable transportation, something that sits up a little bit higher, but it’s not a large SUV by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s got all-wheel drive here in Colorado for all the snow. Some of the snow we get, and even off-road, some of that sort of stuff.
SPEAKER 02 :
And really quick to this one, as you were saying earlier. This is a vehicle also in its class you won’t find in other vehicles because it comes standard with a bunch of the safety features like lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, a lot of those different things that in a lot of its competitors you’re paying extra for you’re not here.
SPEAKER 01 :
You are correct. And, again, one thing about Hyundai, I don’t think they don’t have a ton of, you know, if you pick a trim, you don’t add a bunch, but they just kind of have different trim levels, right? It just depends on which direction that you want to go. You can go everywhere from their low-end SE for just over $30,000 to their high-end limited hybrid, which is about $43,000. And so I can say this middle-of-the-road XRT, it works phenomenal. That’s was really impressed with it. And, again, from a kid’s standpoint, taking kids to and from school, some of that capability was really nice. They were able to easily access the in and out of the car easy, close the door easy, all those sorts of things. So I encourage folks, especially if you’re getting your young family, kind of looking for maybe a newer vehicle, whatever it might be. And the last thing I will say is this, Dad, we talk about this from time to time. Hyundai, five-year, 60,000-mile new vehicle warranty, 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty, seven-year, unlimited-mile anti-perforation warranty, and there’s actually also a five-year unlimited roadside assistance warranty. So they’ve got a lot of warranties that, again, for maybe a young family, dad, whatever it is, may be the car that you’re looking for because you don’t have to buy all that extra stuff on top of it. So if you’re interested, check your local Hyundai dealer. Let them know that John and Richard Rush from Drive Radio and Rush to Reason sent you.
