US Utilizes AI to Revoke Visas of Foreign Nationals Sympathetic to Terrorist Organizations

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – The U.S. State Department has launched an AI-driven ‘Catch and Revoke’ program to revoke the visas of foreign nationals, including students, identified as supporters of Hamas or other terrorist organizations, Axios reported.

In January, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to counter antisemitism and pledged to deport noncitizen students and others participating in ongoing pro-Palestinian protests, triggered by Israel’s military response in Gaza to a Hamas attack in October 2023.

A White House fact sheet linked to an executive order targeting antisemitism and “pro-Hamas” activities stated, “To all resident aliens participating in pro-jihadist protests, take notice. We will locate and deport you.”

The AI-driven “Catch and Revoke” initiative is scrutinizing social media accounts of numerous student visa holders for terrorist sympathies, though the specific AI techniques used have not been disclosed.

Additionally, the Trump administration is searching databases to identify visa holders who were arrested but allowed to remain in the U.S. during the Biden administration.

Since October 2023, the “Catch and Revoke” program has reviewed 100,000 individuals within the Student Exchange Visitor System to see if any visas were revoked due to arrests or school suspensions.

A State Department source criticized the Biden administration for neglecting this issue, claiming that no visas were revoked during former President Joe Biden’s term.
