SPEAKER 09 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 05 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes. With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 01 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did! Get a job, Turk! You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 15 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 07 :
Are you crazy? Am I?
SPEAKER 08 :
Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 10 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 08 :
Welcome back, listeners. You’re listening to Dr. Scott filling in for John Rush on this Health and Wellness Wednesday. Got Sam Peterson in studio with myself from MindSpa Denver. Thank you, Sam. Happy to be here, Scott. Thank you. And Tam, John, you snuck in. My bad. I told her to be here at 4. I thought she was going to be here at 3. And she’s like, no, check your text. I’m like, oh, yeah. So we’re going to have a special guest coming up here in just two minutes. I’m going to hold him over for a second. Some housekeeping things. Number one. Don’t forget our open house at Castle Rock Regenerative Health Care, March 8th from 9 to 3. That’s a Saturday. And you guys can come and see everything that we’re doing there in the regenerative space to make you healthy. And then the second thing is our stem cell sale, March 15th, 25% on that day and that day only. These are umbilical cord stem cells, the most potent, longest-lasting stem cells on the market. There’s nothing finer. So with that, before I go to my friend Mike Feldstein, who owns Jasper, and I’ll let him introduce himself. Tam, since you’re here, I had some questions I wanted to ask in the first hour. Number one, tell me the essential things you need to grow in a greenhouse.
SPEAKER 13 :
I think it depends on the season, and it also depends on what you like. So right now I would say really looking at the leafy greens, some more of the tender sorts of veggies. So the season is just perfect for the leafy greens. If we look at the way Mother Nature provides our food in a traditional four-season growing cycle, the leafy greens are coming out now in the early springtime.
SPEAKER 08 :
When does pizza come out? Oh. That’s not one of those, huh?
SPEAKER 13 :
You could put microgreens or your little baby leafy greens on top of your pizza. I’d be a fan of that.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay, because my wife loves pizza.
SPEAKER 13 :
And then what’s in the pizza? I mean, you know, just.
SPEAKER 08 :
Exactly. And you are a functional nutritionist. So for those listening, Tam works with me. So I have a lot of people on the GLP-1 medicines. What is the GLP-1s? You will know them as the Ozempic WeGoVis of the world. Semiglutide, you’ll know it as Monjaro Zepbound, the Terzepatide, and the most recent one, Retatrutide, which we have. but I save that in reserve because it hasn’t been approved by the FDA just yet, but I do have it available. So those medicines have taken the world by storm. We’re going to talk a lot about that in the last hour about how we can actually reverse dementia. If you are on these medicines or you thought about being on one of these, we can actually reverse dementia and stave it off. So a lot of great research. But my next question for you is tell me about BEATS.
SPEAKER 13 :
Beets. I love beets.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yes, I love them too.
SPEAKER 13 :
But not beets all the time. But beets are really good. So beets are especially good for thinning the bile. So if we look at incorporating beets into our diet with a purpose, it can be something that we can really associate with better digestion overall. So even having beets in a regular rotation for that purpose of knowing that supporting your digestive and your gallbladder health is a good idea.
SPEAKER 08 :
It also lowers your blood pressure, by the way, and it does work.
SPEAKER 13 :
It does. And if we look at beats, there’s also some other interesting information that says beats can help to improve athletic performance. Beats can do this. Beats can do that. But when I think about that, I think that that’s what all… real, lively food can do in a regular rotation.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay, so if somebody doesn’t like beats like you and I do, what about the super beats? Do you still get benefit from super beats?
SPEAKER 13 :
Is that a beat gummy, chewy candy?
SPEAKER 08 :
I believe so. I’ve seen TV commercials for it. I like beats. So I eat beats, but
SPEAKER 13 :
I’ve looked at the nutrition on those, and I think it’s just eating the candy and the food. The natural food is so processed down that I don’t – I think they have some data wrapped around that, but I haven’t dug into that data to know. So I would say if you don’t like beets, you can get benefits of beets from some other foods like celery, like artichokes, like asparagus, the leafy greens, leaning toward more of a bitter green.
SPEAKER 08 :
See, folks, this is why you need to call my office and get an appointment with Tam John. She gives a free 30-minute consultation.
SPEAKER 03 :
I do.
SPEAKER 08 :
Because I didn’t know this stuff. So I’m a doctor, right? They don’t teach us nutrition in medical school, in all honesty.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, and you have heavier lifting to do.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, well, a different load. Three more quick questions. Number one, they show that if you use mouthwash twice a day, it kills your natural biome and it leads to a lot of bad things. True or false?
SPEAKER 13 :
I would say that’s probably true. I mean, again, mouthwash, there are different varying mouthwashes, but you don’t want to kill it all. Okay. There’s some good bacteria.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. Next, honey. Is honey good for me or bad for me? Because I love honey, so what’s your answer?
SPEAKER 13 :
In moderation.
SPEAKER 08 :
Divine moderation.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, help me to understand how you’re enjoying honey. Is it, boy, I just have to have honey on –
SPEAKER 08 :
So like this time of year, I drink a lot of tea as opposed to coffee like I used to. So I’ll put some honey in the bottom of the cup and hot water and tea bag.
SPEAKER 13 :
How much honey are you putting in? Like are you using it, pouring it over a teaspoon to keep yourself, I wouldn’t say you’re dishonest, but to keep your honey consumption honest?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, let’s say I like more honey than less honey.
SPEAKER 13 :
Okay. Well, the thing about honey is it’s sweeter than sugar. It tastes good.
SPEAKER 03 :
I know.
SPEAKER 13 :
Honey has five grams of sugar to a teaspoon where sugar has four grams of sugar to a teaspoon. So you’re a fit and healthy person.
SPEAKER 08 :
So if I run around the block once, I can have my honey.
SPEAKER 13 :
You probably can, yes.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 13 :
Someone who’s really battling their weight or they’re battling a chronic health condition will benefit from being more…
SPEAKER 08 :
But they’re not battling their weight because they’re going to come to me for their semaglutide and terazeptide so they can stave off Alzheimer’s disease.
SPEAKER 13 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 13 :
I’m on board.
SPEAKER 08 :
Last question before we go to Mike. Gut biome. Okay. You hear a lot about it. I know you can do testing for gut biomes and stuff like that. So down and dirty, what is the best thing, drinking, eating for your gut biome? Everybody’s got a concoction or a thought, right?
SPEAKER 13 :
Food. Real lively food.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. Well, I like food.
SPEAKER 13 :
There I go again. So if we’re looking at food, it’s really choosing food that is going to be soluble, fermentable fiber. And what that soluble, fermentable fiber does is it converts to butyrate, which is a short-chain fatty acid. And how we get that soluble, fermented fiber is vegetables. And our body does this beautifully for us. So we choose some variety. We don’t have to have a mountain of vegetables. We don’t have to eat 10 vegetables a day. We just have to incorporate vegetables into our regular routine. So we can do that in ways like add a few baby spinach leaves to your smoothie in the morning. or throw them in your scrambled eggs, or have some sliced zucchini on the side of whatever you’re having for breakfast. Put a few microgreens on top of your oatmeal. A lot of things that you can do just to keep the veggie rotation going. And then there are prebiotic foods. that feed our natural probiotics. So the prebiotic foods are things like asparagus, artichoke, onions, leeks, garlic, even green tea. And I think you’ll really like this one, everyone who’s listening, because it’s White basmati rice is a prebiotic food. Now, doesn’t that just feel like a real treat? You can put a little olive oil on that. You can put a little tablespoon of butter because butter is a natural source of butyrate, which is the result of this short chain fatty acid soluble fermentable fiber.
SPEAKER 08 :
Boy, I can tell you’ve got Sam really excited over here.
SPEAKER 17 :
So you’re saying I can just eat more butter and get the same benefits. Yeah, is that what you said?
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, again, we could compare butter to honey and just say how much butter is that that you’re eating, Sam?
SPEAKER 08 :
Right. Well, thank you, Tam. I appreciate that. Anybody who wants to talk to Tam, call my office, the 303-663-6990. We’ll get you in touch with Tam. Free 30-minute consultation. And you can ask her about butter and honey and microbiomes and all that good stuff. But now I want to switch gears. I want to bring in Mike Feldstein, who is the owner and creator of Jasper. So, Mike, are you there? Yeah.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yes, man. What’s going on?
SPEAKER 08 :
Hey, how are things down in Austin, Texas?
SPEAKER 18 :
They’re beautiful. High 70s, clear skies. Yeah, after the last couple of weeks were dark and gloomy, it’s feeling amazing being back outside, getting that fresh air.
SPEAKER 08 :
Fantastic. That’s great. So I had listened to a podcast. My daughter and new son-in-law sent it to me where you were interviewed by Dr. Axe on one of his podcasts. And I absolutely found what you had to say fascinating. So I reached out to your company. You and I talked and you said, I would be happy to come on because we’re going to talk about air quality, especially here in Colorado, because Denver is in a bowl and we get a lot of inversions, the brown cloud. So I’m not going to talk too much, Mike. I’m just going to give you free reign to tell us about your company, your background, and why clean air is so important.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, I think the last part is the most important part, like why even care about air in the first place? And I think the real reason is because it’s the fuel that we require to sleep at night. It’s what we need to, you know, thrive all day. People forget that the first thing you do when you’re born is take a breath of air. The last thing you do before you die is take a breath of air. And With water and food, we naturally get hungry, so we go get food. We get thirsty, so we go get water. But air, literally, you can go three weeks without food, three days without water, but you can only survive three minutes without air. So it’s this thing that’s not separate from us. We actually live in air just as much as the fish lives in water. If you take the human out of the air, we don’t last very long. And for that reason, I believe we’ve become completely oblivious to the air. Like the fish in the ocean don’t swim away from the polluted areas into the clean water because they likely have no awareness of the water that they’re in. The same way people could be living in homes that are off gassing tons of chemicals, VOCs from furniture, fire retardants, hair sprays, aerosols, you know, poor ventilation in the home. all of the building materials, the paints. And naturally, all of the outdoor pollutants, that’s pollution, general pollution, car exhaust fumes, rubbers from tires, mold, pollen, allergens, these things come in our homes and they get trapped. Trapped in our carpets, trapped in our furniture, trapped in our clothing. And what this ends up doing, all of that is like a sponge. So I’ve tested thousands of homes. I’ll get into that after, but my background was air quality consulting, and disaster remediation. So I was going to floods, fires, hurricanes, and natural disasters after huge, horrific floods and fires to clean up and restore and get people’s homes and businesses back in order so they could get back to work, get back to their lives. And it was very apparent quickly how much people were sick after fires, for example, because of the compromised air quality, and not just for days or weeks, but for months. And that’s sort of when I started to realize, like, oh, whoa. Like, even after the smell of smoke was gone for months, when we actually sampled the air, and not just the regular, you know, AQI you see when you just Google air quality, because they’re only measuring for a few things. So with these fires in California, 12,000 homes burnt, what you don’t realize is everything in every home burnt is not a regular wildfire. Every can of paint is. every cleaning agent, every WD-40, cans of oil, your car. Also, you know, they have thousands of electric cars. So naturally, the EV batteries all burnt too. Imagine when you put a little plastic bag in a campfire, what that does to the air. Now think about thousands of car batteries. So the way that you approach testing air after one of these disasters is completely different than the normal. That’s like just checking the temperature when it’s, you know, 100% humidity. It’s like… The temperature is not the only factor right now. We need to look at a broader spectrum here.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah. Mike, I hate to cut you off right now, but we need to go to a break. Hold that thought. Let’s do it. When we come back, I want you to continue telling us about testing air and your product. You got it, man. All right. So you’re listening to Dr. Scott Faulkner filling in for John Rush 560 KLZ.

putting reason into your afternoon drive this is john rush welcome back listeners you’re listening to dr scott filling in for john rush on this health and wellness wednesday we were talking with mike feldstein from jasper j-a-s-p-r there’s no e in jasper so mike you were talking to us about air quality yeah man so bottom line long story short i was able to experience very painfully the
SPEAKER 18 :
situations that people were dealing with after disasters and then you know when we would test the home if we were going to do a mold remediation of a home we would test the home then we would do the remediation remove the mold safely and then we would test the room again and it was neat to find out and disappointing at the same time that what was considered a pass was very much the same like it wasn’t actually good it reminds me of a lot of the health care system where you go and you want to work on your health and you get a test or two. They say, yeah, we did a blood test. You’re fine. You know, you get some scans. Like we’ll call you if you’re dying. But other than that, you’re like, wait, what the heck? No one is striving for optimal anything. And they keep sliding the scales of what normal is to, to make what’s not optimal. It’s really bad for you. They’re able to call that normal and just normalizing to a situation. So what was being considered like reasonable levels of airborne mold and Carbon dioxide is like, it’s not okay at all. So I started going down this rabbit hole of kind of paying attention to the air that I was breathing and optimizing it, you know, opening windows, looking at air purifiers and starting to take it really seriously. And I’m like, wow, you know what? They’re considering okay across the board. And no one’s even looking at my, and same with water, right? Your water is naturally very hard to treat water for a whole city. So they dump chemicals, tons of it in, and then ultimately the ball is in the homeowner’s court if they want to. I mean, they’re not educated on it usually, but they’ve got to filter their water if they don’t want all that city water in their house. The air is the same, only the awareness is 20 years behind. So a lot of people are drinking air straight from the tap, all the pollution outside, and that’s just the air that they’re breathing, just like the water that they’re drinking. And the really big thing here is getting people’s awareness caught up because once you start paying attention to how your environment makes you feel home, lighting, sound, vibration, air, this is all just a part of a bigger conversation. That’s like, you know, when you’re in a comfortable, peaceful, relaxing environment, you feel much different than when you’re in a stuffy room with bright lights. So air just as much as lights, just as much as noise is a really important thing to consider in order to be comfortable.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, without a doubt. As a physician, I can attest to that. So how did you come up with the idea for Jasper?
SPEAKER 18 :
So the name, I’ll tell you the name and then the why behind the business. The name is because there’s a mountain in Canada in northern Alberta near Banff. It’s really beautiful northern Rockies and companies that were bottling the air and selling it to China. They literally were calling it some of the freshest air in the world, bottling it, and selling it to China. And they were buying. And still do. Good.
SPEAKER 07 :
Good for them. God bless them.
SPEAKER 18 :
So just like we buy bottled water, I mean, the whole world does at this point. Like, they’re literally, but I mean, it’s kind of not super effective just taking a whiff of a can. It’s not like bringing oxygen to the altitude or something. So it’s a pretty funny move. Nonetheless, it does have world-class clean air. And it’s a beautiful mountain, and it’s a tree mountain. And I believe the best air purifier in the world is trees. It’s nature. It’s the UV light from the sun. It’s the wind, it’s the rain, it’s the trees. The earth is the world’s best air purifier. It’s designed perfectly. And the only problem we start having issues is because we build these tight homes and we isolate ourselves from the outdoors. So, yeah, Jasper as a name came from that mountain. I’m originally from Canada. I live in Texas now. Oh, the 51st state.
SPEAKER 08 :
Now, how is that going to work? Because there’s so many different provinces that you can’t just have Canada as a state, right? You’d have to have Vancouver.
SPEAKER 17 :
Canada’s not even a full state. I don’t know.
SPEAKER 18 :
I feel like you should just group it in with Alaska.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, okay, there you go. That’s what we’ll do. Sorry, I digress. So, please, carry on.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, so that’s kind of where the name came from. And then the misspelling was because I was taking a marketing course at the time, and it was very clear that misspelt names do better than known names, like the Googles and the Twitters. Just like making up a word, if you make up a word, you own it. No one else spells Jasper without the E. So you’re very easy to find and not be confused with all the kids named Jasper. And then the reason I got into the business in the first place was because of what I was seeing after these wildfires, especially the wildfires, because you’d have a situation where we would use these machines called air scrubbers. So to remediate a home that’s toxically damaged from smoke, we have to deal with the surfaces and the air. It’s an integrated approach. If you only clean the surfaces but not the air, the air recontaminates the surfaces and vice versa. really have to tackle both together you want to be cleaning the air while you clean the surfaces and then once all the surfaces are clean you do a little bit more air scrubbing and then the space is is good so we were using machines called air scrubbers very industrial grade very effective but very the downside so they would be equivalent to like 30 or 40 little air purifiers this is what we’d use for heavy duty stuff but They were very loud and very ugly. So yeah, if there’s four feet of, if you had a flood in your home and it’s a construction tool, this is an appropriate tool. But for everyday life, so I had a customer named Angela, also in Alberta, Canada, and her home was totally smoke damaged. Ash and soot everywhere. We restored everything. But because the outdoor air was compromised, if you could completely clean a home after a fire, But you don’t wait or you’re not doing active air filtration, the home gets recontaminated again very quickly.
SPEAKER 08 :
Is it because she opened the windows or?
SPEAKER 18 :
Well, no, no. Well, think about it. The air in your home that you’re breathing right now, where did it come from? The air right outside your home, through your doors, through your windows, through your attic, through your vents. Like the indoor air comes from outside. Yeah. So your house instantly gets re-infiltrated and recontaminated. And this was horrible because we would certify people’s homes, sign off, test them, they’re clean, give them the green light to move back home safely. And then a week later, you know, baby’s in the hospital. We’re sick. What’s going on? We go back to their house and indeed it’s contaminated again because, you know, there’s foams, there are piles of ash. So every time the wind blows, that kicks it up. The amount of contaminants in the region, it gets in the soil, it gets in the water. It’s not just purged from the environment so quickly. So it’s really important after you restore a home, you need to be filtering your air long term, especially for the year after. But the bottom line is if you’re in an area that’s susceptible to wildfire smoke, just because that smoke hasn’t been there in two years, if it wasn’t, if you weren’t filtering your air, and in Los Angeles, a lot of people were, they had four or five Jaspers in their house, but the power went out, so you’re still not protected. If you had significant air filtration when the smoke blew through, you’re good. If you were monitoring your indoor air, you were kind of taking it before it, you were filtering it out before it got stuck on all of the surfaces, But once it contaminates carpets, couches, drywall, and it’s not just like the surface of the couch, it really permeates furniture. So it was clear to me, whoa, these air scrubbers I’m using, super effective, but customers were unplugging them. Once they’d move home, they would unplug them. I’m like, what are you doing? And they’re like, it’s so loud, it’s so ugly. Like, I just can’t have that thing up running in my house. All right, and… What we tried to do next is we went to like Best Buy, Home Depot, Walmart, bought a bunch of little air purifiers, the normal stuff you see at the big box stores, a couple hundred bucks. And we would leave like five or six of them in their homes. And bam, a few hours later, the air was contaminated again. We’re like, whoa, these things can’t even stabilize the situation. Whereas our scrubbers were keeping the house completely pristine. So I’m like, okay, I see what’s happening here. There’s these big, large, loud industrial things that do a great job. and then there’s these cute little plastic things that are cheap, and they don’t do anything. So I’m like, there’s no point in me being in this disaster restoration business where I remediate a home and then it’s contaminated again a week later. So I’m like, why don’t I spend the next few years? I’d be more valuable to this city, to all these places that are burnt, if I create an air purifier specifically designed for wildfire smoke. So what does that mean? It had to be industrial grade, steel, no plastic. It had to have commercial grade fans. large fan, high airflow. It had to be large enough that it could be effective even while it’s silent because if it’s noisy, you’re going to turn it off. It had to have good sensors that adapt to the environment. So it’s quiet all the time, but if you start cooking or cleaning or someone’s using the barbecue outside, if your house is getting contaminated, it has to respond. So that way it’s quiet 99% of the time, but it knows how to kick up and respond when you need it to. Um, So it was very clear what was the product that was needed for myself and my customers at the time.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay, perfect segue. So we’re going to go to another break. Sorry to cut you off, Mike. But then on the way back, tell us how you created this beautiful work of art.
SPEAKER 18 :
On shoring. Let’s go.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. So we’ll be right back, folks. Keep listening. 560 KLZ, Dr. Scott with my friend Sam and Tam in studio with Mike Feldstein on the air from Jasper. We’ll see you on the backside.

The best export we have is common sense. You’re listening to Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 08 :
Welcome back, listeners. You’re listening to Dr. Scott filling in for John Rush. We have a guest, Mike Feldstein, with Jasper, I guess I would call it air purifier, air scrubber on the line.
SPEAKER 18 :
Purifier.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay, purifier. So we were just talking how I’ve had allergies all my life here in Colorado. My eyes are itchy and stuff. stuffy and we get forest fires. We’re coming into fire season with the winds and stuff like that. We’ll get the smoke from California fires. We’ll get it from Oregon fires. We’ll get it from New Mexico. We’ll get it from Canada, depending on where the jet stream is. So those of us here on the front range, we’re well versed in smoke from other fires, including our own. But let’s continue with your story. And I think the lady’s name was Angela. That’s what gave you the impetus to create this. So carry on.
SPEAKER 18 :
And she’s just a placeholder. I was having conversations like this all the time with people who, unfortunately, we restored their homes. They moved home and then they were sick again. And insurance companies are not designed to deal with this. So we called insurance and said, hey, we have a mutual customer. Their baby’s sick. And basically, I think they should leave town for another month. or two, get back in a hotel or in a rental. And then when we confirm the outdoor air is solid, that’s when they should come back. Insurance is like basically so sad, too bad, you know, we don’t pay twice. Like you did your job, so we’re going to pay you. And they signed off that they were satisfied. And we’re like, yo, that’s, that’s a really big problem. So at the very least, uh, we have to take care of the air for them so they can move back home. So yeah, Yeah, these types of situations were really happening. And I’m just really thinking about California because of the amount of people who either think their home was just fine or they did their little smoke remediation. They did a little clean. They didn’t even properly remediate and rip out carpets and bedding. So those things are still, I would find ash and soot inside TVs. Their books are porous. Once everything is toxically smoke-contaminated, you can’t keep it. Some things are salvageable and restorable, but a lot are not. Now a big thing is getting the message out so people realize, like, hey, you’re not filtering your air and smoke comes through town. At the very least, you have to do a detox of your place. So let’s just say you’re in Colorado. And there’s a couple smoky days. Nothing crazy. The smoke goes really far away. A lot of it’s dissipated. But you smelt it. It was noticeable and visible for a few days, and then it passes. So that’s a good situation where you really want to be filtering your air. And if you weren’t, then basically a DIY deep clean is necessary. You don’t have to go full out insurance claim. But what you would want to do is take all your clothing, get them all cleaned, like get them professionally cleaned, or get them in the washing machine. But the reason why you want to do them professionally is so it’s out of your house. At the same time, you want to get a steam cleaner to come in and steam clean upholstery and carpets. And you want to get your ducts cleaned. And then you want to have a couple cleaners in the house for just like a general. You basically want to treat it like a post-construction deep clean. Because if you have construction, you’re like, I know dust got in every pore of this house. So we’re going to deep clean it. Well, imagine after a wildfire, the same situation, way more toxic, and it’s mostly invisible. So you still have this post-construction, post-smoke situation on your hands. It’s still going to wreak havoc on you in all kinds of different ways. But it’s not visible like dust. If it’s dust, people have that visual cue to clean it. But with contaminants from a great distance, it’s too small for the human eye to see. So if you take a sample in your home and you send it to a lab, you’ll almost always find smoke and soot and ash. Like even New York City… When they had the fire, the smoke blowing through from Canada, thousands of miles away a couple years ago, even to this day, if you test someone’s carpet that hasn’t de-cleaned their carpets in a couple years, it’s still contaminated with stuff from that fire in Quebec because they never did anything to take it out. So it’s not just going to magically clean itself. And people don’t realize because it’s like when you’re at a campfire, you don’t notice that you stink like smoke until you leave the campfire. You’re in the shower. You’re in a clean environment. Now you’re like, whoa, my stuff smells. I smell. So you’re asking also, yeah, how do we make this thing real? Well, after being in these disaster zones, I had a very clear idea of what I wanted. It has to be basically a beautiful, quiet scrubber. But I knew it had to be nice enough that my wife would want it in our house. So I knew exactly where the bar was of aesthetic. And it’s like, you could go to Walmart and buy a kettle for $20. No doubt. And it will heat your water just fine. But You can get an $80 kettle if you choose. That’s metal or glass, and it’s got a little button, and it turns itself off, and it’s much quieter. And instead of hiding it under your counter, you leave it on the counter. So air purifiers are much less convenient to put away than a cheap kettle. So for a lot of people who care about the design and the aesthetic and the environment of their home, really value it. So I knew exactly what success looked like. And I will say we still make our product in China. It’s been four years. And where I’ve been spending my whole week is touring ranches in Texas. Because by the end of this year, we’ll be making our replacement filters here. And then within the next two years, we’ll be making everything here. I’m very, very motivated by this push for onshoring right now, and it’s our top priority.
SPEAKER 08 :
Excellent. Good. Music to my ears. So what are some of the signs and symptoms of bad air? If you’ve got, say, a kiddo at home or my kids are older, like I was just saying, my eyes are always itchy and runny, stuffy nose. Yeah, allergy stuff. Okay.
SPEAKER 18 :
Allergy stuff and sleep. So last year in the August 2024, we gave 100 jaspers away for a study in exchange for one month of sleep data. People using Oura rings at home. And the average person slept 27 minutes more per night, 18% more deep sleep, and they fell asleep five minutes faster. Because when you turn up the fan speed to two or three… And now you’re going from an average bedroom has a million particles down to 50,000. So that is making the air 20 times cleaner. So people when you’re the only thing keeping you alive all night is air. So if you’re going from very polluted, dirty, allergen mold, dust filled air, to crisp, clean air, wow, you recover, you sleep much, much, much deeper and measurably in people’s sleep cores. And then when you sleep good, you feel good, right? You can’t have a good day without a good night. So the number one reason to have clean air is absolutely in your bedroom.
SPEAKER 07 :
Wow, that’s great.
SPEAKER 18 :
People with seasonal allergies like what you’re describing often completely heal when they start filtering their air at a high level because you can handle a little mold, a little cedar, a little allergens, and the problem is when you are being beat down 24 hours a day, that’s when you have a problem. So when your bedroom has more cedar and more pollen and more mold and allergens than outside, then your body is playing defense all night long. It doesn’t have a chance. to recover and heal, it’s taking care of all the particles and the pollutants that you’re breathing in. So yeah, it can be life changing in a home environment.
SPEAKER 08 :
So talk to me more about mold. Again, we’re in Colorado, fairly dry. I mean, if we have a 20% humid day, it’s a humid day for us. Yes. So tell me about our air here in Colorado.
SPEAKER 18 :
So a lot of people in Arizona moved from Florida and other places to get away from humidity and get away from mold issues. People who like suffered from significant mold toxicity. And I actually see people, I’ll connect it back to, of course, the Denver area and Colorado, but even in Phoenix and in Arizona, people have significant mold toxicity issues there because the baseline humidity is so low. So you can still have a leak and a flood or a water issue. or a mold exposure event. Also, when there’s wind, there’s dust. And if you sample the dust in the desert out there, Colorado too, all that dust once upon a time was underwater. So there’s ancient mold living in all of that dust. So usually people who are suffering from mold in dry areas that have the desert nearby, when they’re sick and you do a blood test or a urine test and you also test the dust in their home, it’s basically always positive for the same species of mold.
SPEAKER 08 :
I did not know that. Okay. So the Jasper will mitigate this?
SPEAKER 18 :
Any HEPA air purifier is going to be really, really effective. And one of the visible signs of having dirty air is you see dust on your surfaces. Dust is merely a symptom of a dirty environment. The dust does not come from the table itself. It lands on the surface from the air. So you have clean air. You won’t really have much visible dust at all. So HEPA and air filtration in general is very effective. In fact, I like to always tell people, because the last thing I’ll ever want is educate people on the problems, and then the solution is this expensive thing. And it doesn’t have to be. So there’s a lot of things that you can also do lifestyle-wise. But in terms of air purification, if you Google DIY air purifier, there’s something called a Corsi Rosenthal box. for like $100 to $200, you can make a really good DIY air purifier that’s way better than all the cheap stuff you’re going to see at a big box store. The only downside is it’s going to be, it could be louder and it will be ugly. It won’t have a smart sensor. But like, if someone’s choosing between like a, you know, $1,000 air purifier or close to that, or a $300 one, but they can make one for $100 to $200 that actually works, it’s just a way better bet. Those little guys almost do nothing. So there’s really good DIY options. You literally get a few furnace filters from the HVAC store, put a box fan on it, and it’s quite effective for you is to educate people on air and people get whatever they want to get. But shoes are a big one. So wearing shoes indoor really contaminates your environment. 95% of shoes tested, test positive for fecal matter. Your range hood over your kitchen stove Using that should be mandatory and make sure it works. Hold a tissue up to it, make sure it’s pulling and make sure that vent is venting outside. Honestly, it’s going into the curl space behind the wall, into the cabinet. It needs to be pulling and exhausting any of your cooking fumes out. When you cook, it creates PAH from high heat and protein. Same thing with those bathroom fans. Make sure they actually will grab a tissue when they’re pulling and make sure they’re venting outside because that’s the whole point. They’re supposed to dump The particulates, in some cases, humidity, in some cases, carbon dioxide out of the home. So you want to make sure your home is breathing. When the weather is nice, if you’re cooking, opening windows. Because the best way to keep a home clean is to keep, when you are polluting your home inside, letting it breathe. And I’m more worried about the indoor stuff polluting your air than outside, which is all the off-gassing and the chemicals and the cooking and the sprays and the pets, more than fresh air polluting you. So you should definitely always be more concerned about indoor air than outdoor air.
SPEAKER 08 :
Wow, that’s great advice. So let’s take one last break, and then when we come back, I’m going to give you about 10 minutes to tell us about Jasper, how to get a hold of you, and any closing thoughts that you might have. So you’re listening to Dr. Scott Faulkner filling in for John Rush, Health and Wellness Wednesday. We’ll be right back.

SPEAKER 08 :
We don’t yell at you. We inform you. Now, back to Rush to Reason. Welcome back, listeners. You’re listening to Dr. Scott filling in for John Rush with my friend Mike Feldstein from Jasper Air Purifier. So, Mike, you have about six minutes to tell us everything about air purification, Jasper, how much does it cost, and how do we get it?
SPEAKER 18 :
All right. Well, I told you about DIY stuff.
SPEAKER 08 :
Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER 18 :
And as far as Jasper goes, so how you get it, what it costs, and I will tell you one other thing too, we actually made a resource for California last week that’ll be really applicable. It wasn’t for California, it was inspired by those fires. Whenever people would have an issue with smoke, smoke damage, whether that’s a little bit of smoke blowing through town or a heavy damage, I lost my home in a wildfire situation. I’d always help them and spend hours with each person. And I’m like, okay, these conversations are 80 to 90% the exact same. So why don’t I instead just document all of this? So I filmed a two hour course last week and I broke it into a bunch of different five and seven minute segments. So it’s like a choose your own adventure for how to navigate, how to assess your home for smoke damage, what to do, how to pick a contractor, how to how to do a DIY deep clean after smoke, this kind of stuff. So if anybody goes to, um, Jasper.co and the course will be live next week. So you got to wait for me on that one, but it’ll be Jasper.co slash smoke. So write that down for next time you’re dealing with any smoke issues and it’ll be certainly live by then. And for the Jasper air purifier, um, well, this is live, which is cool. Usually I do podcasts. So if we’re, going to do any special offers for anybody. We have to think way into the future.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right.
SPEAKER 18 :
So we don’t have to do that here. This is awesome. So what we’ll do is I’m going to, I’m going to make code rush simple, just code rush. And it’s so Jasper’s MSRP is 1199. Um, it’s 1199 and that’s cause it’s typically, it’s equivalent to five average air purifiers. And the other thing that I’m really, um, proud of a company as well, is our lifetime warranty. So let’s say your Jasper breaks. What we do is we ship you a brand new one the next day, you take the new one out of the box, you put the old one back in the box, you get a prepaid shipping label from UPS, and we pay for UPS to come to your front porch and pick it up. Because I hate when I have a warranty claim. They want me to have my receipt, my original box, print a label, Go to FedEx. Next thing you know, I lost half a day and 150 bucks on shipping. So we send you the box and the shipping label and we pick it up from your door. Because if the Jasper breaks, that’s Jasper’s fault. It’s Jasper’s problem. Why should the customer be inconvenienced by $1 or 10 minutes of their time? So that’s something that I’m, you know, we don’t have a sales and support department. We just have guys like me who are in the industry, testing air, consulting on air, doing disaster work. So if anybody reaches out with a specific issue, you know, we’re very consultative and happy to help. So the code will be RUSH, and I’m going to make it live right now. And it’s going to be live, the code, for one week from this moment. Today, Wednesday, so it’ll be live until the end of the show next week. So I’m going to make code RUSH $400 off. So that’s 33% off. So from $11.99 to about basically $7.99 or $800, $400 off. And if people buy more than one because they want a multi-room or a full home setup, we have additional discounts that automatically bundle in the cart online. Yeah, we bought two. Yeah, you did. Thank you. Hope they’re starting to kick ass for you. Yes.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, we haven’t got them yet because my daughter and her husband got the influenza. And I’m like, you stay away from me. So I’ll be picking them up from their house this week.
SPEAKER 18 :
So what we do is let’s say you decided that you’re like, these are awesome. I want to get one more. What we would do is you would email us and we would process the order as if you bought two. three the first time. So let’s say if they were, you know, three off with a code, it would have been 699 instead of 799 or 899. Not only would we give you the third one for the 699, we’ll do it as if you did it the first time. So a third one for you could be like 400 bucks or something like that. So we never want people to feel forced to bedroom should be on fan speed two or three, turn it up a little bit. But the one in your kitchen living room area, you want to keep on smart mode. That way it’s silent and it automatically adapts to the environment when you’re cooking, when you’re cleaning, incense. If anybody smokes or vapes, it will instantly pick up on that and take that out of the air. People bust their kids in their rooms using vapes because the Jasper downstairs turns red. So Code Rush is live. I set it up. It works now and it’ll be live until midnight next Wednesday. So for anybody, and like any time, if it’s not a slam dunk, if it’s not making you sleep way better, feel way better, just email us. We’ll take it back. We have 100% return policy. But if you scour the Internet, you will not find any bad reviews because we treat people the way we want to be treated, whether that’s at the sales stage or return or warranty or any time. So hopefully anybody realized from these L.A. fires and past fires that our air is only getting worse, and it’s really important. And just like we should filter our water and eat good food, breathing clean air is just as important, if not more. So Code Rush, Jasper.co, J-A-S-P-R.co. Code Rush, effective immediately until next Wednesday. We’ll be $400 off, and hopefully this helps somebody out there.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, God bless you, Mike. You have a heart just like we do for taking care of folks. So we will have a link. I’m looking at Charlie. Yes, he will have a link to Jasper. If people go to RushToReason.com, it usually takes a few hours to post this segment after we’re done. But Charlie will put that up, RushToReason.com. And thank you so much, Mike, for joining us. And I wish you the best of success. Thank you for listening. We’ll be back at the top of the next hour.
SPEAKER 1 :
I’m a rich guy
