SPEAKER 15 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 20 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes. With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 35 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did. Get a job first. You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 31 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life. That there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 22 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 06 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by Cub Creek Heating and Air Conditioning.
SPEAKER 34 :
Filling in is Andy Pate, party of choice.
SPEAKER 14 :
And welcome to hour number two here on Rush to Reason. I’m Andy Pate filling in for John Rush along with Luke Cash and Tanner Kolb. And what could be more manly than war? Except for Tanner, who feels pretty when he watches war movies.
SPEAKER 18 :
I just feel like… I’ve disappointed my parents with my manly hood. My dad’s this big manly dude, and I’m just out here almost crying that the Marines made it out of there.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, you know, I mean, if it helps you because you’re probably longing for home, I’ll just tell you, you disappoint me too. Does that help? Thanks. That way you’re not feeling, you know, lonely.
SPEAKER 18 :
I’m going to go to the park and ask some guy to buy whatever he’s got now. Thanks.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, that’ll do. That looks safe. I’ll take the red one.
SPEAKER 18 :
You’ve got a war kind of in itself. Exactly. We’ve got war on the streets. Drugs versus the crackheads.
SPEAKER 17 :
There’s a war inside. You, right now, struggling to be a better man.
SPEAKER 14 :
The air war, the turmoil.
SPEAKER 18 :
Actually, the real struggle is I’ve got a woman inside of me trying to get out.
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, I just think we should, you know, instead of talking war movies, let’s just spend the entire hour talking about Tanner’s self-discovery. What’s crazy is… You know, that’d be great radio.
SPEAKER 18 :
I’ve met a girl named Tanner, so I’m not far away. I got the hair for it right now. You’re one… A girl named Tanner? Yeah, isn’t that crazy? It blew my mind.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, it’s better than Chuck, I guess.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. Richard. Let’s jump right into this. We got to go right to the best of the best. You know, a good war of speech. Here we are. Braveheart.
SPEAKER 23 :
Aye. Fight and you may die. Run and you’ll live. At least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives But they’ll never take our freedom.
SPEAKER 14 :
Iconic. And moments later, Trump launched the tariffs. Yep. Okay, what do you think?
SPEAKER 18 :
Every time I hear that.
SPEAKER 14 :
I think that speech really sold them better.
SPEAKER 18 :
Every time I thought about the 2024 election, I just thought about that speech, never taking our freedom. And it cured me.
SPEAKER 14 :
Before we go on, has any election in the last hundred years meant more for the cause of freedom, individual freedom? I’m not talking freedom of one group or another group. I’m talking individual freedom across the country. Has any election meant more toward that than the one we just had? No.
SPEAKER 18 :
I don’t know. You can just see what’s happening in Europe, how badly they’ve gotten since COVID.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right.
SPEAKER 18 :
That was going to start happening here. I agree. And it already started, but not as bad.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, now up to somebody who does not feel like a woman when he watches war movies. Luke! Give me a war movie, man.
SPEAKER 17 :
Well, I’m going to cheat round number one.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, Richard’s not here and you’re filling in.
SPEAKER 17 :
Richard’s not here. I have to fill in because I think it’s just that good.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 17 :
Generation Kill. It’s on Prime Video. Amazon’s Prime Video.
SPEAKER 14 :
So it’s free.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yes, with your regular Amazon subscription. You can get access to that guy. And it’s very similar to the movie Warfare. It is real events with a real group of people who are being acted. So it’s based off of true events and true scenarios and true situations. The first boots on the ground in 2006.
SPEAKER 14 :
Is it as real feeling, I mean really intense and real feeling as Real Housewives? Yes.
SPEAKER 17 :
Just about. I’d say even better. So real, in fact, that there’s a character, there’s a person within the show, Generation Kill, who is described as so handsome and so capable and the coolest dude that they couldn’t get an actor to play him and just brought in the real person to play himself in the show. Wow.
SPEAKER 18 :
That’s awesome. I mean, I was up for the role, but… I know you were. So Generation Kill on Prime Video.
SPEAKER 14 :
Then you talked about feeling like a woman while watching war movies, and they were like, not what we’re looking for, Tanner.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, one more time. Generation Kill.
SPEAKER 17 :
Generation Kill on Prime Video. On Prime Video. Very, very worth your time. How many seasons? One season, and I think it’s maybe eight or ten episodes. Like, it’s pretty short.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, folks, there you go. If you want to binge watch, it’s worth a watch. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 18 :
Probably my most recent favorite war movie, Land of Bad, that was on Netflix. Russell Crowe, I can’t remember who else.
SPEAKER 14 :
That was good.
SPEAKER 18 :
It was better than I expected.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, remember last year I had that, I think it was number two out of my most pleasant surprises of the year last year. That’s pretty good. And he was a drone pilot.
SPEAKER 18 :
Right.
SPEAKER 14 :
Which I’d never seen before. Right. The idea of a drone pilot made no sense to me. And here he was helping people who were embedded, and it was very cool. Yeah, Russell Crowe in…
SPEAKER 18 :
Land of Bad.
SPEAKER 14 :
Land of Bad. Good one. Okay, on the line we’ve got John from Giant. John, when you watch war movies, do you feel feminine like Tanner?
SPEAKER 16 :
You’re never going to live this down.
SPEAKER 14 :
No?
SPEAKER 16 :
I have a cure that Tanner could get his man card back. Oh, how? He needs to this summer take a week off and backpack a section of the Colorado Trail at least 50 miles in five days. That will turn him back into a man.
SPEAKER 18 :
That might work. But, John, what if I crack a fingernail up there?
SPEAKER 16 :
Okay. You take your Swiss Army knife out or your buck knife and trim it down with a knife blade, no nail clippers, and you soldier on.
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, actually, John, I’ve got a good plan here. I think what Luke and I can do. is we can actually just, first of all, just take Tanner to the movies, okay? You like going to movies, right?
SPEAKER 18 :
Love them.
SPEAKER 14 :
Only it won’t be the movies. We’ll tie you up, and we’re going to drop you in the woods, up in the mountains with no food, no water, nothing.
SPEAKER 18 :
Just a bow and arrow.
SPEAKER 14 :
Just a bow and arrow, you know. Well, no, just a bow. You’ll carve your own arrow.
SPEAKER 17 :
Make your own arrows.
SPEAKER 14 :
And, you know, see how you do. What do you think? Make a man out of you.
SPEAKER 16 :
That’ll do it. Either that or it’ll kill them. But either way… John, it’s a great plan.
SPEAKER 14 :
John, do you have any movies as great as that idea?
SPEAKER 16 :
Oh, yeah. One other thing, Andy. Yeah, go ahead. If you go to YouTube and type dihydrogen oxide ban… Some guys went to a university and had a petition to ban it. To ban water. It was classic. It is so funny how stupid people that are going to college are.
SPEAKER 14 :
Hey, I’m telling you, they could violently protest over that. They do over everything else, so why not?
SPEAKER 16 :
Absolutely.
SPEAKER 14 :
We hate water.
SPEAKER 16 :
So my wife gave me her two favorites. Oh, okay. You’re going to be surprised. Sands and V. Wojima. She loves that movie. Oh, yes. A great movie. Awesome. And her favorite war movie is Mr. Roberts. Yes. She just loves that. Two great ones. And then my two favorites are both also black and white and is Battlegrounds from 1949. Okay. And… The battle, the longest day. Oh, the longest day, yeah. Longest day. Here’s my question, Andy. Go. Do you get excited watching 12 O’Clock High because it’s the only Air Force war movie?
SPEAKER 14 :
No. I was a pencil pusher in the Air Force. There were those who considered dropping me instead of bombs. Because I was annoying. I brought it up.
SPEAKER 16 :
What’s your opinion of 12 o’clock high, though?
SPEAKER 14 :
I saw it so long ago. I can’t remember. I’m sure it was very good. It’s obviously one of the all-time classics, but it’s one that I saw like, golly, a quarter of a century ago. So I don’t know. I assume your opinion is very high of it.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, it’s a very well-done movie. Last thing on the thing you said about presidential elections. I don’t know. You’re old enough to remember Reagan 80. Remember what that did for us. Yes.
SPEAKER 14 :
And Carter. Well, that turned around a country. It did. But the one difference is this. The country had not become anywhere near as anti-freedom as it had under Carter, as it had under Biden. We had entered a whole new age of anti-freedom. So. All right, John. Thank you so much, sir.
SPEAKER 01 :
We’ll talk to you next.
SPEAKER 14 :
You bet. Talk to you next week. Up on the line is Donovan. Donovan, do you have any war movies?
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, it kind of helped Tanner on his gay side, I think. How about Monuments?
SPEAKER 14 :
Just so you know, the women adore Tanner, so I doubt he’s really that way. But go ahead.
SPEAKER 12 :
But anyway, Monuments, man, that was a war movie with a little bit of spin, you know, where they were out saving all the art. Right. It was a true story that happened in World War II. Yeah, yeah. That was a good movie. Mm-hmm. And then another one that was kind of a weird spin, but with George Clooney also, and I’m not a George Clooney fan, was The Three Kings. Remember that when it came out? It was pretty funny, too. And what a cast. Yeah, and when you got shot and they showed the bullet going through the body and stuff?
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 12 :
That was kind of cool.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, I mean, Tanner felt really feminine when he watched that.
SPEAKER 08 :
I mean, he was just like…
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, I’m in touch with myself, my feelings. I’m going to leave that alone.
SPEAKER 18 :
George Clooney made me hot.
SPEAKER 14 :
Donovan, you led right into that.
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, you know, when you leave the door open, you expect somebody to go through it.
SPEAKER 14 :
If you’re going to throw it right down the strike zone, he’s going to swing away, I tell you. Donovan, thank you so much, sir. You bet. Have a great weekend. Have a great weekend. Okay. We got one more. We got David in Woodland Park. David, do you have any great war movies? I’m sure you do.
SPEAKER 36 :
Andy, I cannot believe your favorite speech in a war movie was Braveheart.
SPEAKER 14 :
Actually not, but it’s up there.
SPEAKER 36 :
Can you not remember the greatest speech of all time in a war movie where that certain person said, and another thing, I don’t want to hear about us holding our position. We’re not interested in holding on to anything but the enemy. And we’re going to hold on to him by the nose, and we’re going to kick him in the… George C. Scott, correct?
SPEAKER 14 :
Patton. Oh, yes. No, that was the best speech. It was the best speech in a war movie. But with the Braveheart one, I could do the Trump gag. And so, you know, I had to lead with that.
SPEAKER 36 :
And that was great. That was great. Patton is probably my favorite war movie. I’ve watched that over and over again. And that speech, as you can see, I’m well-versed in it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, you do it well. And you know what? You even get the voice really good. I mean, that was a good Patton, man. That was a good George C. Scott. Well done. I can’t do him.
SPEAKER 36 :
Yeah, that’s my favorite war movie.
SPEAKER 14 :
All right, David. Well, thank you so much, sir. We’ll talk to you next week. Take care. Okay, guys, let’s take a break. How’s that sound? We’ll come back with more war movies. SPEAKER 37 :
Putting reason into your afternoon drive, this is John Rush.
SPEAKER 14 :
And welcome back to Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560, Andy Pate filling in for John Rush along with Luke Cash. Man. And Tanner Cole. Man. Man. I’m having too much fun with this. Okay, this next one’s about a minute long, but I’ve got to play it because it’s classic. Here we go.
SPEAKER 19 :
Good morning, Vietnam! Hey, this is not a test. This is rock and roll. Time to rock it from the Delta to the DMZ. Is that me, or does that sound like an Elvis Presley movie? Viva Da Nang. Oh, Viva Da Nang. Da Nang me, Da Nang me. Why don’t I get a robe and hang me? Hey, is this a little too early for being that loud? Hey, too late. It’s 0600. What’s the O stand for? Oh, my God, it’s early. Speaking of early, how about that Cro-Magnon Marty Drywoods? Thank you, Marty, for silky smooth sound. Make me sound like Peggy Lee. Freddie and the Dreamers.
SPEAKER 33 :
The wrong speed. We’ve got it on the wrong speed. For those of you who are recovering from a hangover, that’s going to sound just right.
SPEAKER 19 :
Let’s pull it right back down. Let’s try a little faster. See if that picks it up a little bit. Let’s get up on 78. Those pilots are going right now. I really like the music. I really like the music. I really like the music. Oh, still a bad song. Hey, wait a minute. Let’s try something. Let’s play this backwards and see if it gets any better. Freddy is a devil. Freddy is a devil. Freddy is a devil. Hi, can you help me?
SPEAKER 14 :
Robin Williams in Good Morning Vietnam was incredible.
SPEAKER 17 :
I think it’s the most Robin Williams Robin Williams has ever been.
SPEAKER 14 :
That or one other movie, Aladdin. True. As genie, he was unleashed. He was very, very Robin Williams. I know. Both of those. Okay, Luke, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Oh, well, I’ll go pick a movie that has one of my favorite quotes of all time. All right. Mash, with its line that war isn’t hell. War is war, hell is hell, and of the two, war is a lot worse.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s good. So good. Classic line. Classic movie. Well done. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 18 :
One of my favorite movies ever. It’s somewhat of a spoof on war, but kind of not. Inglourious Bastards.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, here we go. Got a little speech. Little Brad Pitt. Here we are.
SPEAKER 15 :
But I got a word of warning for all you would-be warriors. When you join my command, you take on debit. A debit you owe me, personally. Each and every man under my command owes me 100 Nazi scalps. And I want my scalps. And all y’all will get me 100 Nazi scalps taken from the heads of 100 dead Nazis. Or you will die trying.
SPEAKER 18 :
I love how he says Nazi.
SPEAKER 14 :
Nazis. It was so good. I loved it. That was a great movie.
SPEAKER 18 :
So good.
SPEAKER 14 :
I thought so.
SPEAKER 18 :
The opening scene is amazing, too.
SPEAKER 14 :
Let’s go to a classic, The Alamo, and this is John Wayne talking about Republic.
SPEAKER 32 :
Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, talk free, go or come by or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words give you a feeling. Republic is one of those words that… makes me tight in the throat. Same tightness a man gets when his baby takes his first step or his first baby shaves and makes his first sound like a man. Some words can give you a feeling that make your heart warm. Republic is one of those words.
SPEAKER 14 :
I tell you what, what a magnetic voice he had. Unbelievable. That guy could read any line and it would sound cool.
SPEAKER 17 :
Very true.
SPEAKER 14 :
It was just amazing. That’s John Wayne in the Alamo. Luke, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Have you ever wanted to see a dude play another dude play another dude? That’s my dream. We’ve got to watch Tropic Thunder.
SPEAKER 14 :
Tropic Thunder.
SPEAKER 17 :
You could not make that movie today. Maybe now.
SPEAKER 14 :
Maybe now. Yeah, now you can. Ever since November 5th, you can make that movie.
SPEAKER 17 :
Ever since November 5th, you can make Tropic Thunder.
SPEAKER 14 :
That was so funny.
SPEAKER 18 :
I think they could just do a whole movie about Tom Cruise’s character. He was so funny.
SPEAKER 14 :
Dancing at the end.
SPEAKER 18 :
Oh, my God. Every line he had, I was dying laughing.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, he was so funny. I agree. That was great. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 18 :
Possibly my favorite actual war movie. Crap, where’d it go? Can’t be that big of a paper then. I can never remember the name.
SPEAKER 17 :
I can’t remember it at all.
SPEAKER 18 :
I like it, yeah. The Outpost. The Outpost? Where there’s these Marines stuck in Afghanistan, all these Afghans. Oh, yeah, yeah. There’s like 3,000 all coming down on them. It was amazing.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. That’s a lot like the movie that just came out, Warfare. Okay. For another great inspirational speech, here we go. Bill Murray from Stripes. Here we are.
SPEAKER 26 :
We’re all very different people. We’re not Watusi. We’re not Spartans. We’re Americans with a capital A, huh? You know what that means? Do you? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We’re the underdog. We’re mutts. Here’s proof. His nose is cold. But there’s no animal that’s more faithful, that’s more loyal, more lovable than the mutt.
SPEAKER 14 :
That was a classic. I love that movie.
SPEAKER 17 :
Very nice. Okay, Luke, you’re up. Oh, continuing classics and iconic, approximately like first halves, first three quarters. Yeah. Because the rest of the movie kind of isn’t that iconic. Full Metal Jacket. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, I can’t play any of that. No.
SPEAKER 17 :
No, you can’t. Especially from the good part.
SPEAKER 14 :
I know.
SPEAKER 17 :
The good part of Full Metal Jacket has no clips that are usable.
SPEAKER 14 :
The drill sergeant right at the… Oh, yes. You can’t touch that.
SPEAKER 17 :
No, but we can all imagine it in our minds right now.
SPEAKER 14 :
I want you all to imagine that without playing it on the radio.
SPEAKER 17 :
It has to be PG.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 18 :
Let’s go with Hacksaw Ridge. Oh, yes. I love that one.
SPEAKER 14 :
Awfully, you know, but a peace loving guy.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, that would be me out there on the battlefield.
SPEAKER 14 :
Racing in. Oh, come on. You’re a gun guy.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, that’s true.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s true. You’d be shooting.
SPEAKER 18 :
I’d be, you know, parkouring the course out there.
SPEAKER 14 :
With Luke. American Ninja Warrior. With Luke, it’d be more worrisome. We’d have to make sure to point him in the right direction. He’d just want to shoot. Shoot, shoot, shoot.
SPEAKER 17 :
I’m pulling the trigger. Where I’m facing depends on you. I know. Bill, no, we’re coming. You’ve got to turn.
SPEAKER 14 :
It depends on you. And, of course, with Tanner, it depends on my mood. yeah exactly okay on the line we got somebody who would never shoot the wrong way that’s Jersey Joe Joe what do you have for us well since you brought up and this is not the movie I called about but since you mentioned Hacksaw Ridge you got to do Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood oh yes and the invasion of Granada with all of his young recruits that he trained really quick here here’s a little clip here we go that’s really all I got man right there and the tip no that’s really it man really you owe me pulls his ear in
SPEAKER 28 :
Now, my will against yours, and you will lose. So, 0600 tomorrow at 6 o’clock in the morning for all the people that don’t habla.
SPEAKER 14 :
Tears the earring off the guy. It’s just like, that’s a good movie.
SPEAKER 07 :
Since you mentioned the Alamo, and probably none of you have ever seen it, there was a miniseries with Bill Paxton called Texas Rising about Texas’ fight for independence. Oh, cool. Was it real good? I love Bill Paxton. It’s a fantastic miniseries. I think you can see it on Netflix. It’s 100% true to fact. And, of course, during this movie, the Alamo falls during the movie. They get word from a messenger that the Alamo has fallen. Everybody’s been killed. Right. And, of course, at the time, most people don’t know this, Jackson was president and he couldn’t help Texas. due to some treaty they had with Mexico over the Louisiana purchase or something. So he couldn’t render any aid to Texas. So Texas was basically on its own, just the citizen army of Texas fighting the might of Santa Ana’s army.
SPEAKER 14 :
It was incredible.
SPEAKER 07 :
Just incredible. So I urge you to, if you’ve got nothing to watch this weekend, look forward to Netflix, Texas Rising.
SPEAKER 14 :
Texas Rising. Well done, Joe. Do you have anything else?
SPEAKER 07 :
You know, one of my favorites was the Battle of the Bulge with Henry Fonda. And you know who Robert Shaw is? I never saw it. Robert Shaw, you know, he was the captain on Jaws. Yeah. Great actor. He plays the arrogant German tank commander. You know, it’s just an incredible movie. Henry Fonda, Robert Shaw, a great cast of characters.
SPEAKER 14 :
I loved Henry Fonda. He was awesome.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. He was also in Midway, by the way, where they break the code. They send out the fake message about one of the freshwater being out of order.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s a long movie, though. That’s a rough one for me. It’s so long. Hey, really quick, did you ever see Mr. Roberts? No, actually, that’s one I haven’t seen. Okay, I’m recommending this one. Mr. Roberts is also one that moves at a pretty good pace. Okay, great. Which, you know, a lot of those older movies don’t. You know, they tend to slog along. But not that one. It’s a good movie. That’s worth watching. He was awesome in it.
SPEAKER 07 :
All right. You watch Texas Rising. I’ll watch Mr. Roberts.
SPEAKER 14 :
I’ll do my best. Thank you, sir. Take care, guys. Take care, Joe. Online, we got Brenda. Brenda, do you have some war movies?
SPEAKER 30 :
Hey, War Eagles There.
SPEAKER 14 :

Uh-huh. Bye-bye. You bet. Bye. Oh, that’s a good one.
SPEAKER 18 :

SPEAKER 14 :
No.
SPEAKER 18 :
I can’t find the movie.
SPEAKER 14 :
Mr. Roberts.
SPEAKER 18 :
Oh, sorry.
SPEAKER 14 :
Not Mr. Rogers. Mr. Roberts neighborhood, the South Pacific. Okay. Why don’t we take a break? When we come back, I’m going to do one with a clip from the aforementioned Bill Paxton.

SPEAKER 39 :
Here’s why you need personal injury attorney Kevin Flesch on your side. He understands the way the jury thinks. In the context of a personal injury case, you’ve been hurt by someone else’s negligence. The idea is that you’re going to try to recover so that you can get back to where you were just prior to that incident occurring. What that really means from a jurist’s perspective is that you’re going to be asking them to award you money. So when we talk about fairness, we’re talking about six people that you don’t know. Those six people view the evidence and make a unanimous decision that will decide what the fair value is. When you’re the one who’s hurt, you have a good idea of what you think it’s worth. The question is, can you persuade those other individuals whom you don’t know and were witnesses to believe that’s what the case is worth? Kevin Flesch understands the way the jury thinks. Call now for a free consultation. 303-806-8886

And welcome back to Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. We are talking war movies here. If you want to give us a call, that’s 303-477-5600. And let me see here. I said I would do a little with him. Do, do, do, do, do, do. Here we go. Aliens. Aliens, that was a war movie. Now, Alien was not, but Aliens was war.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 14 :
It was so cool. And by the way, also a great movie. I know it’s tough to watch the Aliens, folks, but if you’ve not seen it, you need to. And Bill Paxton is in this clip. Here we go.
SPEAKER 27 :
I guess we’re not going to be leaving now, right? I’m sorry, Newt. You don’t have to be sorry. It wasn’t your fault. That’s it, man. Game over, man. It’s game over. What are we going to do now? What are we going to do? We better get back because it’ll be dark soon and they mostly come at night. Mostly.
SPEAKER 14 :
I love how creepy she said, they mostly come at night. Mostly.
SPEAKER 17 :
Terrifying. Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah. They, by the way, made fun of that on Salt Park. Yes. They mostly come at night. Mostly. Okay, Luke, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Oh, let’s go with kind of an obscure one. It was like an Apple TV movie original, so not a lot of people heard about it. The Greatest Beer Run Ever?
SPEAKER 18 :
Was that a war movie?
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah, it’s about Chickie Donahue going to deliver beer to his buddy in Vietnam during the war and gets roped into a couple things. It’s very funny. Everyone thinks he’s CIA because he’s just like a casual dude with a big suspicious duffel bag. And he’s like, get me on a plane. And everyone’s like, oh, surely he’s CIA. So they just let him there. He gets away with a lot of stuff. Very fun.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, well, that sounds pretty cool. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 18 :
I’ve been meaning to watch that one. American Sniper.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, yes. That was a good movie.
SPEAKER 18 :
I wonder what he does in that movie. I wonder what they do in that movie. He’s actually the president of Ukraine. Wow. Funny enough. Nothing to do with America.
SPEAKER 14 :
Nothing to do with America. Okay, up next, since I mentioned South Park, you know there was a war in South Park.
SPEAKER 17 :
Oh, no.
SPEAKER 14 :
Where we went to war with guess who? Here we go.
SPEAKER 17 :
That was funny. It’s pretty good.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes. That was a pretty good war between us and Canada. Okay, Luke, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
I agree. Oh, let’s go with Tom Cruise in that one movie that’s changed its name six times. I know it is Edge of Tomorrow, so I’m just going to call it Edge of Tomorrow. I think it also went by Live, Die, Repeat. I think it had one other name change before it released.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, they should have just stuck with Edge of Tomorrow. And by the way, what a great movie.
SPEAKER 17 :
Should have just stuck with it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Very cool. That’s one of those you can watch over and over.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah, very unique concept.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 18 :
I liked that one, actually.
SPEAKER 14 :
That was a lot of fun. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 18 :
Let’s go with… The Destruction of Al-Qaeda, Zero Dark Thirty.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes. Yes. And, you know, I didn’t think it would be that good, honestly. I thought it would be kind of stale, you know, as they just kind of walked through, you know, by the numbers. But, no, it was good. It was intense. Okay, on the line right now, we’ve got Terry. Terry, give us some war movies.
SPEAKER 30 :
Well, I remember when I – I want to say it was earlier 60s. My father – We’ve all went to the station wagon. We went to the outdoor movie theater, and we saw The Great Escape.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, yes.
SPEAKER 30 :
And I still remember the music. I still love it.
SPEAKER 14 :
I don’t know. That’s more of an escape from war movie. Not really.
SPEAKER 30 :
Well, I guess it is.
SPEAKER 14 :
No, it’s a war movie all the way.
SPEAKER 30 :
It’s still a war movie, but, yeah, it’s still a war movie. So I just thought I’d mention that one. Thank you.
SPEAKER 14 :
Was that Steve McQueen?
SPEAKER 30 :
Yes, it was Steve McQueen and a lot of other great actors in there, too.
SPEAKER 14 :
Awesome. Terry, thank you.
SPEAKER 30 :
Yeah, thanks.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s a good one. Have you guys seen that? Have you ever seen The Great Escape?
SPEAKER 17 :
I have not, no.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s a classic. Okay, here is U-571. Did you ever see this one?
SPEAKER 17 :
No, but you guys have talked about it a few times.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, guys, I’m telling you. Matthew McConaughey stars in it. It’s a terrific movie. But at this point, he’s just had to take command when he wasn’t ready for it. Terrible things have happened. He didn’t know what to do. And here he has the CEO take him into a little room and talk to him. Here we go.
SPEAKER 21 :
Mr. Tyler, permission to speak freely? Of course, Chief. This is the Navy. We’re commanding officers, a mighty and terrible thing. A man to be feared and respected. All-knowing, all-powerful. Don’t you dare say what you said to the boys back there again. I don’t know. Those few words will kill a crew, dead as a depth charge. You’re the skipper now. And the skipper always knows what to do, whether he does or not.
SPEAKER 18 :
That’s a good speech. It’s good. Kind of sounded like Joe Biden.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, but this guy actually knew what he was saying. Trust me, guys, U571, if you have not seen it, please do. It’s worth seeing.
SPEAKER 17 :
Okay, Luke, you’re up. Oh, let’s go with one of my personal favorites. I adore The Hurt Locker.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 17 :
I think it’s very good. Very tense, edge of your seat kind of movie.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah. Well directed.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, the action was just like, it pulled you in. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 18 :
Let’s go with the imitation game with Benedict Cumberbatch. Yes. Benedict Cumberbunch.
SPEAKER 17 :
Cucumber. Yeah, you love it.
SPEAKER 18 :
Cabbage patch. You didn’t know until kind of the end of the movie, but he was on my team. Your team.
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, everybody, just so you know, he’s actually not gay. But, you know, we do like to pick on Tanner. Okay, we’re talking great speeches. How about when you are in a battle for the very survival of Earth? Here we go, Independence Day.
SPEAKER 25 :
And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday. But as the day when the world declared in one voice, we will not go quietly into the night, we will not vanish without a fight, we’re going to live on. We’re going to survive. Today, we celebrate our Independence Day.
SPEAKER 14 :
Now, I believe any time any president speaks, that music should be in the background. What do you think?
SPEAKER 17 :
It’s good music. I think approval ratings would be up.
SPEAKER 14 :
Even if he’s talking to his wife, Melania, I’d really like to have the steak, not the fish. I just love that music. It was fantastic. Independence Day, another great movie. That’s a movie where you can watch it over and over, and there is nothing wrong with it. It is great. Luke, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Oh, well, I like seeing some apes fight some stuff. Yes. So let’s go with War of the Planet of the Apes.
SPEAKER 14 :
Surprisingly well made. Aren’t these recent ones?
SPEAKER 17 :
The whole franchise, shockingly good. I was very surprised.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, because I thought it would be just kind of gimmicky.
SPEAKER 18 :
Oh, the first ones when you got the half-human, half-ape, that’s a little creepy.
SPEAKER 14 :
No, no, but it evolved. It got better. I really liked it.
SPEAKER 17 :
The new version of those movies.
SPEAKER 14 :
Very, very good. Very, very good. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 18 :
Let’s go with the good, the bad, and the ugly.
SPEAKER 14 :
Ooh. Ooh. Is that a war?
SPEAKER 18 :
That’s all I’ve got to say.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s a, well.
SPEAKER 17 :
It’s kind of. You’ve got some, like, gun singers. There’s some fights with guns. I could do another.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, no, that’s pretty good. What about war on another planet? How about Starship Troopers? Here we go.
SPEAKER 23 :
Hey, what’s going on? It’s war! We’re going to war! It’s war! Now the youth of tomorrow must travel across the stars to defend our world.
SPEAKER 11 :
We are a generation commanded by fate to defend humankind.
SPEAKER 32 :
Everyone fights, no one quits.
SPEAKER 22 :
We are going in with first wave! You smash the entire area, you kill anything that has more than two legs, you get me? We get you, sir!
SPEAKER 29 :
But they will face an enemy. Imagine that. Here it comes!
SPEAKER 14 :
Did you guys see Starship Troopers? Yes. Okay, Charlie has seen it too. You’ve seen it. It’s pretty cool, isn’t it? It’s made by the people who made RoboCop. Yeah.
SPEAKER 17 :
I feel like to this day people don’t know. It’s like, is it satire? Is it pro-war? Is it anti-war?
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, it’s anti-war. It’s anti-war and it is satire.
SPEAKER 17 :
It’s great regardless.
SPEAKER 14 :
But it’s still great. It’s still fun to watch.
SPEAKER 17 :
It’s very fun.
SPEAKER 14 :
There you go. Luke, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Oh, what about a war on Earth but against giant monsters?
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. Pacific Rim. Pacific Rim. Yes.
SPEAKER 17 :
I love Pacific Rim. Who doesn’t like seeing some really big robots kill some really big monsters?
SPEAKER 14 :
I know, but why did they make the sequel?
SPEAKER 17 :
I refuse to acknowledge its existence. I know. It was so bad. Maybe we can crowdfund a new sequel.
SPEAKER 14 :
The thing about Pacific Rim was the two main characters, it was just such a neat chemistry between them. You really enjoyed the development of the characters. You enjoyed the story, not just the war. It was great.
SPEAKER 17 :
It was very good.
SPEAKER 18 :
I love Pacific Rim dearly. Tanner, you’re up. The newer Midway. I can’t think of who’s in it other than Nick Jonas. I loved it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, very good. Got to get to another great speech. Here we go from Glory, Morgan Freeman.
SPEAKER 01 :
What are you? So full of hate you just want to go out and fight everybody? Because you’ve been whipped and chased by hounds. Well, that might not be living, but it sure as hell ain’t dying. And dying is what these white boys have been doing for going on three years now. Dying by the thousands. Dying for you, fool. I know because I dug the graves. And all the time I’m digging, I’m asking myself when, when, oh Lord, it’s going to be our time. Or time’s coming when we’re going to have to ante up. Ante up and kick in like men. Like men!
SPEAKER 18 :
God, he’s so good.
SPEAKER 14 :
I know. And by the way, he does sound like God.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Morgan Freeman is awesome. When he gives a speech, it is just like, oh.
SPEAKER 18 :
He’s 87 when I hope he never passes and he give him the drug they gave Joe Biden.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, you’ve heard it here first, God. You’re not allowed to let Morgan Freeman die. I’m sorry. Okay. Luke, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Oh, let’s go with… I’m trying to remember who’s in it. It is Jon Bernthal. It is Shia LaBeouf. And maybe Brad Pitt. Is that who it is? And Fury.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, Fury. Excellent movie. Tank.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 14 :
Really good. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 18 :
Let’s go with Battle Los Angeles.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, that was fun!
SPEAKER 18 :
Fighting some aliens?
SPEAKER 14 :
It is a stupid movie that I thoroughly enjoy and have seen several times. Yes. Okay, here’s a movie that is obviously a lot more serious.
SPEAKER 1 :
1917.
SPEAKER 14 :
Here we go.
SPEAKER 04 :
Your orders are to deliver a message calling off tomorrow morning’s attack. If you fail… It will be a massacre. Let’s talk about this for a minute. Why?
SPEAKER 26 :
We’ve got orders to cross here. That is the German front line.
SPEAKER 1 :
Hold fast!
SPEAKER 29 :
If we’re not clever about this, no one will get to your brother. I will.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, guys, for those who have not seen 1917, I’m begging you, watch 1917. It’s an excellent movie, and also it is shot from one perspective as if it’s one shot.
SPEAKER 18 :
Really? One take.
SPEAKER 14 :
One take. So you’re watching through the entire film as you watch the characters in real time go through what they have to go through. I think it’s really impressive. Go ahead, Luke.
SPEAKER 17 :
Very, very cool. Not nearly as cool nor as good. Really not anything close to 1917. We’re going to go with Pearl Harbor.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, come on! Okay, the bombing scene was great. Outside of that, the movie was a bomb.
SPEAKER 17 :
The movie’s not good. The movie’s not good at all.
SPEAKER 14 :
The rest of the movie is a bomb. Yes. Yeah, there you go.
SPEAKER 17 :
You said it anyway.
SPEAKER 14 :
Tanner, wash the taste of that out of my mouth, please. Give us a better movie.
SPEAKER 18 :
I’ll be watching 1917 tonight. There you go. This one I actually really liked. It’s a little slower, but it’s called Operation Mincemeat. And I think based in England, they basically create this fake soldier to give them the enemy’s fake information, and they don’t know if it’s going to work out. And it was pretty cool to see that unfold. I loved it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, let’s do three more really quick, go to break, and come back and go rapid fire through them. But I’ve got to play a clip from Dunkirk. Here we go.
SPEAKER 04 :
There’s no hiding from this, son. We have a job to do.
SPEAKER 28 :
If we go there, we’ll die.
SPEAKER 14 :
I’m telling you what, Cillian Murphy, I love him. He’s great. The guy is so good. Luke, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Oh, let’s go with 300. Yes. Nice. Ken likes that one.
SPEAKER 14 :
Totally realistic looking guys. Yep. 300 is so impressive. I loved it. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 18 :
Let’s go with… Defiance. Another one you don’t hear about a lot, but with Liev Schreiber and Daniel Craig. I love it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Daniel Craig, right.
SPEAKER 18 :
It’s so hard to find, but a few times I have watched it. I loved it.
SPEAKER 14 :
And by the way, those are two terrific actors.
SPEAKER 18 :
Oh, so good. Liev is amazing.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, he is. He’s always good. Okay, let’s take a break. We’ll come back and we’re going to go rapid fire. And I’m telling you folks, you’re going to want to write down these movies and see them while they’re great. Up next is Michael Bailey Law. Don’t wait on your estate. Sleep better by getting your will done now with Michael Bailey at 720-730-7274.
SPEAKER 10 :
When it comes to your estate, you really don’t want to leave things up to luck. Michael Bailey doesn’t rely on chance. He relies on solid, thorough planning and getting to know you as you develop your plan together. That’s because a good estate plan isn’t about luck. It’s about wisdom, preparation, and making sure your family is protected no matter what. Think about it. When you pass on, will you leave your family to guess what to do with your possessions, investments, and other assets? Or would you want to make those instructions very clear so your family can know your final wishes in detail? That’s what an estate plan does. It’s not about luck. It’s about making sure what you want to happen is followed, your assets are protected, and your family isn’t left searching for answers. Rely on solid planning from Michael Bailey, not good luck charms. Find the mobile estate planner Michael Bailey on the klzradio.com advertisers page to make sure your last wishes are followed.

SPEAKER 18 :
12 Strong was great because they showed a map in it. Let’s go with all the Star Wars. Sicario, it’s basically the U.S. versus Mexico. And Mad Max Fury Road.

SPEAKER 14 :
Ooh, they are falling quick. Tanner, you’re up.
