In this episode, Mike Gallagher addresses a compelling news story that has captured his attention: the decision of a Minneapolis prosecutor to offer diversion instead of criminal charges in a high-profile Tesla vandalism case. With commentary from legal expert Kurt Schlichter, Gallagher explores the political and legal ramifications of this decision, questioning whether political affiliations are influencing justice. This episode also touches on the wider narrative of political activism and accountability in today’s society, providing a thought-provoking analysis of current events.
SPEAKER 12 :
He’s the happy conservative warrior. Mike Gallagher. Broadcasting across hundreds of radio stations nationwide. And seen on your trusted conservative TV network. Salem News Channel. Here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 10 :
Sometimes I get worried about my propensity to get distracted. I get distracted by stories. I fixate on one story that I see as I prepare for the show. I hear about something and then I go down the rabbit hole. I know there’s a lot of breaking news. I know there’s all kinds of stuff happening in the world with the Pope’s passing. with the Democrats infuriating pilgrimage to El Salvador to pay homage to Kilmar Obrego Garcia, the MS-13 gang member. They’re doubling down, incidentally. And I know it’s a big story, and we’ve got to be all over it. I know the Democrat Party is in tatters right now. You’ve got folks like Jim Clyburn. claiming that the only reason the Democrats are failing right now is the media isn’t advancing their narrative adequately enough. You’ve got young people like David Hogg running things over at the DNC, promising to primary Democrats who aren’t far left enough. We’ve got to have war. We’ve got to have a battle going on. So there’s a lot of that stuff going on. But the story that I can’t get out of my head is a headline that I couldn’t believe. I saw it on social media, and I thought, this can’t be real. There’s no way that a guy who commits domestic terrorism, political violence, going around terrorizing people who happen to drive a brand of car that that person doesn’t like, who commits, the authorities say, over $20,000 worth of damage by vandalizing six different Teslas. And it turned out the guy that got arrested is a 33-year-old man named Dylan Adams. He works as a state employee in Tim Waltz’s Minnesota. This guy is a state employee who works as a data analyst on fiscal policy for Minnesota’s Department of Human Services. Keep in mind that the acts of violence that the police say this man performed came about a month after his boss, Governor Walz, mocked Tesla as a company and said at a political rally that watching Tesla’s stock value decline gives him a little boost during the day. So about a month later, this state employee, 33-year-old Dylan Adams, allegedly went out and keyed and damaged half a dozen Teslas, causing over $20,000 in damage. Now, you think, well, the guy’s going to go to jail, right? I mean, they’re going to, they’re going to, they’re going to, he’s going to go to prison. The, you know, a lot of people say this is, I mean, the FBI and the Justice Department have said that they are going to treat these attacks on Teslas and related facilities as domestic terrorism. This is all politics. It’s not, there’s no, the only motive is political. You’re driving a car that is part of a company owned by a guy we don’t like politically, so we’re going to terrorize you and we’re going to carve swastikas into your car. Now, when somebody who does that gets caught, they’re going to face jail time, right? They’re going to face criminal charges. Maybe not prison, I don’t know. But they’re going to at least face, they committed a crime, right? Not in 2025, blue state Minnesota. The Minneapolis district attorney announced that they will not pursue any criminal charges against this Minnesota state employee. Want to hear the rationale from the Hennepin County attorney? The district attorney is a woman named Mary Moriarity. You want to know what Mary Moriarity said in a statement? She said, this approach for seeking diversion instead of criminal charges is taken in many property crime cases and helps to ensure justice. The individual gets to keep their job and can pay restitution. That’s all this is about. We want to make sure that Dylan Adams doesn’t get fired for walking his dog and then taking a key and vandalizing half a dozen or so Teslas. We don’t want this poor man to lose his job. It’s just property damage. This is a property damage case. And so here’s the headline. Read it and weep. I posted it on my ex-account this morning coming into work. Tesla vandal suspect Dylan Adams will not face criminal charges, instead gets diversion. What do you think would happen to you if you went out and vandalized a Starbucks because you don’t like all the progressives that go in there and get their overpriced latte? What do you think would happen if you firebombed some progressive, I don’t know, ice cream store? What do you think would happen to you if you committed a political act of violence? You think you’d face criminal charges? But not when you’re in Minnesota. Not when you’re in Minneapolis. not when you’re in Hennepin County, not when you are a Soros-installed prosecutor who doesn’t believe in locking bad guys up. If the bad guy, if the criminal checks a box, they don’t face criminal charges. And it goes way beyond just vandalizing cars. You can burn down buildings because George Floyd died. You can assault police officers. You can do whatever you want. As long as you check the box in Soros’ prosecutor’s world, you don’t face any criminal charges. I absolutely… am stunned, I shouldn’t be, I’m disgusted, and I’m infuriated. And I worry that I’m being unnecessarily distracted by this one story. But I think it’s an important one. Let’s see if you agree. I’ll know by whether or not my lines light up. 800, I give the number. Here’s how this works. 800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453. 800-655-6453. If the lines light up, I’m not distracted. If the calls come straggling in, maybe I’m unnecessarily distracted. Let’s find out what you think. I mean, this is unreal. I sure hope the Trump administration steps in. I hope Pam Bondi gets a hold of this. I hope the FBI and the Justice Department are able to say, nice try, Mary Moriarity. You commit acts of political violence, you’re going to be charged criminally. That’s earth logic, right? 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. I hope you join us. Ph.D. weight loss has changed my life, and I’ve got a little secret for you. You know Big Pharma and semaglutide and the shots in the belly. SPEAKER 11 :
Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 10 :
Any day I get to spend with Kurt Schlichter, I consider a very good day. Lawyer, author, bon vivant, political commentator. He’s the senior columnist at townhall.com. And he joins us here on the Mike Gallagher Show for a busy Tuesday. Colonel Kurt, thanks for reporting for duty. Bright and early out there on the West Coast. You don’t look too worse for the wear.
SPEAKER 07 :
Oh, well, you know, I do what I can. At least I’m not getting up to have to go march anywhere.
SPEAKER 10 :
True, true, as many Americans are, as a matter of fact. I want to get to Pete Hegseth, and you wrote a piece at Town Hall how Trump is not going to get baited. He’s not going to get tricked. He’s not going to fall into this trap of sacrificing Pete Hegseth. I have to admit, I’m a little confused about the whole Pete Hegseth story because I’m not sure why he’s become their sacrificial lamb. But I want your take on that in just a moment. But before we get to that, I’ve got to tackle what I think is the biggest story that won’t be covered in the mainstream media of the week, and it’s right up your alley. I’m reading the Washington Times this morning. The Soros prosecutor in Minneapolis has made the Solomon-like decision not to criminally charge the jerk… who the police say committed over $20,000 of damage to people’s Teslas. It turns out he’s a state employee in Minnesota, works for Waltz. He’s going around keying a bunch of Teslas, over $20,000 worth of damages, as he’s walking his dumb dog. Kurt, the prosecutor said, we don’t want to charge him criminally. That could impact his job and his reputation. We’re going to put him in diversion. We’re going to hold him financially responsible, but we’re not going to give him any criminal charges because, after all, that’s what we do here in Minnesota. We’re Minnesota nice. Kurt, if that doesn’t sum up the state of today’s Democrat, activist, radical, lunatic party, nothing does.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, look, not that I want to defend Minnesota, but I think that may be the same thing they do with all crimes. In other words, I think they may be treating him just like they treat all criminals, which is that they let everybody off. You know, so maybe we finally found one example where there’s not a two tier justice system. I don’t know. I don’t know what the Minnesota prosecutor does. I do know that we have a Department of Justice and I do know it is a federal crime to violate somebody’s civil rights. And I’ve seen crazier filings of the Department of Justice, mostly against conservatives. Right. But look, if somebody’s going around systematically causing damage, sabotage, you could call it vandalism, to people’s property because of their politics, I think there are federal laws that may be impacted because they’re obviously doing it. to gain a political effect. And I do think this is exactly the kind of case where if you want to clamp down on political violence, when we seem to have a problem with that, just ask the UnitedHealthcare guy. Oh, wait, you can’t because they murdered him. Or maybe ask the president, who… was literally shot and a couple of our people wounded and one killed. If we want to clamp down on it, I think we need to clamp down on it. This would be something where federal action might be a good idea. And it’s not unprecedented. The federal government came in and stepped in in southern states where Democrats in power there, and they were Democrats, refused to charge white terrorists with attacking black civil rights workers. So the feds went and did it. And I think it’s important to establish that this is unacceptable and they’re accepting it. And, you know, I don’t think this kind of crime can be treated like every other crime. So if you have some guy who’s just out keying random cars because he’s a jerk, I think that is a measurably different situation than a guy who’s out randomly keying cars. Well, not randomly keying cars, but doing it to intimidate people because of their politics. So I think it’s a bad, bad situation.
SPEAKER 10 :
And, Kurt, the point you made, which is so crucial, which is why I wanted to be sure that we address this with you, is that now’s the time to take a stand against this and for the Minnesota prosecutor to refuse to do so. That just shows where they are. They are not going to stand up to political violence as long as it’s political violence that is being committed in their honor and to advance their agenda. Believe me, if the shoe was on the other foot, And, you know, you take a progressive business, I don’t know, Starbucks, and there was a series of vandalism against Starbucks by, you know, red hat wearing MAGA loving Americans. Oh, you can be sure that it’d be January 6th on steroids.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, there’s simply no question. You know, maybe we need to send Jussie Smollett up to the Twin Cities. Yeah.
SPEAKER 20 :
MAGA forever, man.
SPEAKER 10 :
Minneapolis is a MAGA town. Yeah, not exactly. Not exactly. But what a story this is. I mean, so I want everybody to be aware of the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announcing that they will not pursue criminal charges against this Minnesota state employee. You know, maybe the guy will get a promotion now in Tim Walz’s government.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, the next question is, why is he still working for you, Tim? Correct. Correct. Because if you have a guy who’s out there committing acts of violence against the property of citizens because of their politics, that kind of indicates to me that perhaps he’s not a public servant. Perhaps he’s just a giant jerk and he ought not to be on the government payroll.
SPEAKER 10 :
But listen, the district attorney, Mary Moriarty, in her statement, actually affirmed they want him to keep his job. I mean, this is the lunacy of the left. Her statement said, this is an approach, meaning diversion rather than criminal charges. This is an approach taken in many property crime cases and helps to ensure— Mind you, I’m reading from her statement helps to ensure the individual keeps their job and can pay restitution as well as reducing the likelihood of repeat offenses.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, I believe I believe they’re nuts. Also, I believe this guy is also an attorney. And I know if I grab the MAGA hat off the old shelf, put it on and started going damaging Democrats vehicles. because they’re Democrats, I would have trouble with the state bar. And properly so. You should. It’s not an outrage to hold people responsible for committing acts of violence against property for now. For now, because I would think this was something that we could all get together and do. But you got to understand, Mike, they’re actually for this.
SPEAKER 10 :
They think it’s a good thing. They think it’s virtuous. They think damaging somebody’s property because they don’t have political beliefs that align with their own is a good thing. Look, if that wasn’t the case, Luigi Mangione wouldn’t have, you know, gazillions of dollars in his legal defense fund. They wouldn’t be making a hero, you know?
SPEAKER 07 :
That’s true. And look, my next book is going to be about this kind of novel. It’s going to be about this kind of conflict. By the way, Friday, my current book with my wife, Irina Moises, Los Angeles, is going to be released. So everybody go out and get my book.
SPEAKER 10 :
Oh, can’t wait. Oh, good. Well, we’ll get you back to talk. We’ll talk the book. We’ll talk novels. We’ll talk great stuff. Kurt Schlichter is with us, senior columnist at townhall.com. Kurt, let’s quickly tackle Pete Hegseth because I don’t get this. I have to admit.
SPEAKER 20 :
Everybody’s trying to.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, no kidding. But here’s the signal chat debate, and we get it. Mistakes were made. For some reason, they’ve hung this around the neck of Pete Hegseth. There are a whole lot of people involved in this thing. You write that, you know, they’re not going to, Trump isn’t going to fall for it. They want Trump to kick this guy to the curb. And you said, not going to happen. Trump won’t do it.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, look, they have had a losing streak since Trump got into office. Trump has won outright multiple issues. He’s in the process of winning others. I mean, he’s in the midst of the fight. They desperately need something. I mean, look, these guys are so desperate, Mike. A senator literally went and had margaritas with a wife-beating MS-13 member in El Salvador. This is what they’re like. This is our best shot. I’d like rock salt, please.
SPEAKER 10 :
And they’re doubling down, Kurt. And they’re doubling down. They’ve got more Democrats going over there for more pilgrimages.
SPEAKER 07 :
I know. I like how they’re explaining away what is obviously a gang affiliate tattoo on his hand, too. Marijuana. He’s a celebrating pot.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, we need this guy in America. Yeah. This is what’s right. And look, if they keep going, I almost hate criticizing them for it. Just keep it up because they’re never going to win another election.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay. You know, they had two choices. They could moderate. They go hard or left. When you’re a religious fanatic, and this is a pagan religion, you know, you double down and, you know, quadruple the child sacrifices to Moloch. And that’s what they’re doing.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, now, for the record, you don’t believe the Democrats are about to begin child sacrifices anytime soon. For the record.
SPEAKER 07 :
Anytime soon? That’s right. Define soon. Define soon. Like within the next month. Well, look, I mean, there are, you know, if you look at some of the, they’ve gone from a safe legal and rare to making, uh, abortion into a quasi-sacrament.
SPEAKER 10 :
Look, I did a whole show yesterday on Easter Monday. The timing, I mean, here’s J.D. Vance meeting with the Pope. The Pope dies hours later. That’s something just profound to me anyway. And here’s a guy. There’s a spiritual something happening in this country, Kurt. I feel it.
SPEAKER 01 :
I agree. I agree. It is.
SPEAKER 10 :
There’s an awakening. There’s something. Do you too? I mean, I’m so glad because yesterday I was flooded with calls and texts from people saying, our church packed to the brim for Easter, overflowing, young people. I mean, there’s something going on, Kurt, in America.
SPEAKER 07 :
It is. I feel it, too. I just spent the last day and a half driving across the country, from my Houston house to my California house. And at one point, you know, I was listening to a podcast, and there was one guy, you know, a… A religious guy. I’m usually listening to Delta Force guy or politics guy or whatever. And some religious guy. And I just felt compelled to listen to it and think about it and engage with it. I’m feeling it, too. I think people are. And I think it’s a great thing. I think we have seen the emptiness of the pagan religion that is left. Did you know today is Earth Day? Have you heard anybody talk about it? It used to be a giant celebration, but it’s empty.
SPEAKER 10 :
There’s nothing there. There’s nothing there. I mean, people are the normals that you’ve written about for years are rejecting it all. And even today in Axios, there’s a big piece about, well, you know, we used to have an obsession with battling misinformation and disinformation. And they even admit it. They say we used to be obsessed with it, and now nobody’s trusting anything. Anything comes out of the mainstream media, nobody’s believing it. And it’s different. There’s a sea change. There’s something going on. All right, I’ve got to go. I can’t wait to get your book. Let’s get you back for the book. SPEAKER 10 :
Promo code MikeG. Meanwhile, a Maryland sheriff is slamming the Democrats for this pilgrimage to El Salvador to visit the… MS-13 gang member who was deported correctly. The Hartford County Sheriff, Jeff Gaylor, called out Senator Chris Van Hollen for traveling out of the country to try to bring a terrorist home. It’s amazing. They’re doubling down on this. And even Axios writes a big piece today about how the… Democrats bet on the wrong horse. They thought they could absolutely go all in on supporting illegal immigration, even violent gang members, and it would work. I want to give you a sampling. Our producer, Christian, put together a terrific montage of the loony left and what it sounds like when you embrace this guy, this… This MS-13 gang member, it’s an extraordinary story. I like the meme that I keep seeing on social media. Find someone to love you the way Democrats love an MS-13 gang member from El Salvador. Check out this great montage.
SPEAKER 01 :
The Trump administration has put out several statements, as you’re aware, documents that contain allegations about your client, including that he was violent towards his wife, that he is a member of the MS-13 gang. What can you say about those allegations?
SPEAKER 15 :
They try and find dirty laundry in our client, which really is irrelevant. But to justify their… own admitted mistake by trying to find all these justifications, reasons, dirty laundry is just really saddening, disingenuous and frightening.
SPEAKER 02 :
Can you say with absolute certainty that he is not nor has he ever been a member of the MS-13 gang? And did you ask him point blank?
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, Dana, what Donald Trump is trying to do here is change the subject, the subject at hand. is that he and his administration are defying a court order to give Abrego Garcia his due process rights. What he told me was he was sad and traumatized that he was being in prison because he has committed no crimes. What the president wants to do is talk about that as if we can’t all fight gang violence, which I’ve been doing for much longer than Donald Trump. I think at some point the president of El Salvador realized it was looking really bad to have this person who had been absconded from America, from the streets of Maryland.
SPEAKER 19 :
Himself a dictator and the other tyrants, dictators, autocrats of the world have to understand the Trump administration is not going to last forever. We will remember who stood up. for democracy in America and who tried to drive us down towards dictatorship and autocracy.
SPEAKER 02 :
Congresswoman Maxine Dexter here, coming to you from El Salvador. I flew here last night with three of my colleagues to demand that Kilmar Obrego-Garcia be released. This is what we all have been calling a constitutional crisis, yet it is more severe than anything we’ve seen. We cannot stay silent. We must stay loud. I am here because I refuse to wait for something to happen. We are here to release Gilmar Abrego Garcia.
SPEAKER 18 :
Why, Congressman, are you in El Salvador? You are there for an El Salvadorian man who was a resident illegally of Maryland. You’re a congressman from Florida. Why are you in El Salvador?
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, we’re here because a man who had protected status in Maryland, a Maryland man, union member, worker with a citizen wife and beautiful children, was taken out of his state and out of the United States and back over here without due process. And for us, we’re here for a couple of reasons. Number one is because every person in our country deserves due process. They have no regard for the rule of law, and they can talk all they want on Fox News and spill all the BS they want. This is a constitutional crisis, but also this is going to have real impact for people across the country. The reason I’m here is because this impacts my constituents. Next, he wants to go for quote-unquote homegrowns. He’s talking about U.S. citizens, sending U.S. citizens here to El Salvador. This is something we all have to be not just alarmed about, but we have to do things about it. We have to continue to fight because there’s going to be an end to this story. And the end that we want is for him to be back in the United States and he can go through his due process there.
SPEAKER 14 :
If they could do it to them, if they could snatch students off the street without any pushback or recourse, they will do it to any of us. To be very clear, it’s going to be the people of color and vulnerable communities that are next in line.
SPEAKER 03 :
I think that’s right. And that’s certainly part of why the African-American community is so strongly behind the supporting Kilmar.
SPEAKER 14 :
We are not for this.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, because as you just said, if they’re going to whisk them away, what are they going to do with us? It’s an error and it was a mistake.
SPEAKER 08 :
So this I think you’re speaking about their public.
SPEAKER 09 :
I’m telling you that their view of it is that it’s an El Salvador citizen who was sent back to El Salvador, who was in the country illegally, who, according to some people in his long process, which does include an existing deportation order, believes that he has an affiliation with MS-13. As I said, there’s no version of this man’s life where he comes back. And let me say one more thing. The people that want him brought back need to understand something. If the president of El Salvador releases him, and we do facilitate his return, when he lands in this country, one of two things will happen. He will be arrested, and then he’ll either be sent back to El Salvador, where he is now, or some other country that I promise you you don’t want to go to. He’s not going to be allowed to come back and live in this country as though he is a U.S.
SPEAKER 06 :
citizen. That’s literally the definition of tyranny, right? So here’s what’s going to happen. We’re going to throw him in jail. No, there’s a thing called the rule of law and due process, which has not been followed in this case. And if I have a slightly optimistic take on this, I actually think this is going to come back to bite the Trump administration, because what’s going to happen is the next time this goes up the court system, they have absolutely zero credibility. to say, don’t worry, you can file a habeas petition, you can get your person back. The courts are not going to allow this to happen. And the idea that the Trump administration has the right of fiat to just decide to ship somebody off to another country, that is fundamentally opposed to everything a constitutional democracy is. They have the ability to deport people who have deportation orders.
SPEAKER 09 :
He has a process.
SPEAKER 08 :
He has a deportation order. Why did they make that argument? Withholding of his removal order. So he was in the country temporarily. Why did he have a withholding? Because an immigration judge ruled that. But why? What was the argument? Because he was fearful of a gang that hasn’t existed in El Salvador for four years.
SPEAKER 09 :
There’s more of that gang in Los Angeles than there is in El Salvador. That’s not for us to decide.
SPEAKER 10 :
That’s the immigration judge’s side. Wow. Great work, Christian. And look, let them double down. They may never win another election again.
SPEAKER 13 :

Mike Gallagher. Every day, Mike visits with Mark Davis. Morning host on 660 AM, The Answer in Dallas. Here’s today’s Eminem experience.
SPEAKER 10 :
Give me your update on Conclave because you texted me you were going to watch it last night, right? Yep.
SPEAKER 04 :
And the story is as fresh as today’s headlines. The Pope dies. There’s a lot of intrigue, a lot of sniping as to who his successor should be. And don’t you pretty well know that’s exactly how the Conclave is going to go? Or do you think that was dramatic license?
SPEAKER 10 :
Probably a little dramatic license, but look, these men are human. They’re in there, and they have personalities, and I’m sure they clash in different ideologies. Sure. Exactly.
SPEAKER 04 :
So I’m hooked like a trout. I mean, I just cannot wait to see what the payoff is, who’s going to be the new pope, how’s it going to go, what are the twists and turns. And then we get to some twists and turns, and here’s why I do not do spoilers. One involves a major event that’s really big, and it makes me think, what? This is from a book written in 2016. That seems like a contrivance thing, but okay, I’ll go along with it. And then there is a turn. There are some speeches given in the midst of this drama that causes the whole drama to turn and for the vote to go a different way. And it’s like that seemed really contrived. And then at the very, very, very end, the thing we have double secret cone of silence on. I think this is what repelled the most people. I have found a way to be a little bit forgiving about it because I don’t think it’s exactly the messaging that everybody instantly took it to. What’s the leash on a movie, Mike? You know that I could bring this up three years from now and talk about what that final twist is. And I’ll go, hey, I haven’t seen it yet. I’ll never listen to you again. So what’s, what’s, but I’m, but I’m intrigued by, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER 10 :
Or do you have to do this in person or something? Or, well, I don’t want to, we’re not going to give it away, but I’m just curious. It’s, it’s pretty jarring and you’re, you weren’t jarred by it. You weren’t bothered by it. No, no, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. What, which one do you mean? The big one at the end. Okay. The big reveal at the end. Well, yeah, but were you politically repelled? Did you find it to be the grotesque woke? There were like two. There are two moments in the last half hour that you could spin as woke. I think the vote going differently than you think it’s going to is more woke than the personal. Well, let people let people.
SPEAKER 10 :
People watch it. But the problem is people who see it are going to be frankly mad at us because in a way we probably should have warned them because they’re going to say I because that was my feeling. I thought I sat through this entire movie for that ending. Are you kidding me? I was really, really upset. Gotcha.
SPEAKER 04 :
I told people to do it. And honestly, I will still, when I say recommend it, I think just as a broadening experience, because it will take you right into the notion of what is going to be in the news in about a couple of weeks. And there are going to be some curveballs thrown at you. Everybody’s a big boy, big girl. You can either like it or not like it.
SPEAKER 10 :
Just understand, it is woke on an epic scale at the end.
SPEAKER 04 :
In fact, even along the way, even along the way, there are points that are made as people offer their candidacies and everybody’s prospects are weighed, where it’s clear that there’s a preference for the candidates who are like, okay with the gay marriage and okay with the Pope Francis political style candidates. But I’d rather have people see it. And go, I didn’t like the end. Then deny themselves what is really a pretty spectacular piece of filmmaking.
SPEAKER 10 :
Okay, go dive in and see it and just be forewarned. All right, let’s dive in. By the way, you tweeted something. You posted something on X that is so true. I could not believe the five on Fox News, which has become one of the highest rated shows on that network. Yep. didn’t even mention Pope Francis? No. Now, Mark, that’s not an accident. What do you think is their thinking behind that?
SPEAKER 04 :
I haven’t the slightest. And I did tweet that. And I did say that it’s unfathomable for a show whose entire point is, let’s talk about what’s breaking in the news. There is no bigger story in the world. And people were weird on X. They covered it in all their other shows. Wow, of course they did. It’s the biggest story in the world. But that must be what they’re thinking. No, that’s stupid. Of course not. That has to be their thinking. I don’t watch Will Kane. God love him. I don’t always see Bret Baier. on the five every night and for them to punt on the biggest story in the world where i totally want to hear what that panel has to say about it is inexplicable it’s so inexplicable somebody said maybe everybody needed easter monday off and they pre-taped it on friday i went back well you’re right well you’re right i went back and looked at everything and there and the first four segments were like stuff you could have done anytime but then they had trump at the easter egg roll
SPEAKER 10 :
No, no, they made a conscientious decision to avoid it, and I’m telling you, they must be thinking counter-programming. They have to say… No! What? Why are you saying no to that?
SPEAKER 04 :
Why are you saying no to that? What do you think is their thinking? You know what it is? I’ll tell you what, I can’t read minds. They didn’t notice the Pope died? No, no, no, you ready? You ready? Somebody, somebody, either on that set… And that is Judge Jeanine and Greg Gutfeld and Jessica Tarlow and Dana Perino and or management. But which is weird because they have covered it like a blanket. OK. Somebody didn’t want to do it. Somebody did not. Well, that’s my point. They prevailed. And that was stupid.
SPEAKER 10 :
But you’re pushing back. And I’m telling you, they didn’t want to do it because they said we’ve done it all day long. And our audience is tired of it.
SPEAKER 04 :
stop talking that’s insane it’s not that’s what they’re thinking well then what would the reason what would the reason be for not wanting to do it mark ask them i don’t know well i guarantee you because we’ve done it all day long there is no baloney every single freaking day that there’s a big story fox has quote done it all day long what is the last time that you can think where where the five would punt on the biggest story It’s in the world. All right. They’ve covered it all day long.
SPEAKER 10 :
So instead of getting animated at what is my perfectly reasonable explanation, why don’t you theorize why they didn’t want to do it, Mark? Well, what do you think? Well, take a shot at it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Take a theory. I have no idea. Theory. Hypothetical. There is no hypothetical. I don’t know. Well, of course there is. They got tired of talking about it all day long. Then the producer should have said, shut up. It’s the biggest story in the world. You’re doing it. That is the dumbest thing you’ve said in a week. No, it’s not.
SPEAKER 10 :
You’re arguing with yourself because, look, but I want to go with what you’re saying. Let me tell you why you’re so stupid. Let me tell you what’s so stupid about what you’re saying. You’re suggesting one of them is an anti-Catholic bigot, Mark.
SPEAKER 04 :
You’ve got some nefarious intent going on here.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, what would their reason be for not wanting to do it?
SPEAKER 04 :
No idea.
SPEAKER 10 :
No, you can’t bail on that. That’s a cop-out. I have no idea. You’ve got to have a theory.
SPEAKER 04 :
You’ve got to have a… Somebody didn’t want to do it. I can’t read minds. But all I do is reject the one scenario that you’re giving me, and that is they’ve covered it all day. I’ll make a phone call, and I’ll tell you tomorrow. Please do. I’ll get to the answer. You still got connections in that building.
SPEAKER 10 :
And if and when I find out that they said, look, we’ve had it all day long. We are a different kind of show. We’re a debate show. We got a lot with the Brego. And what do we debate?
SPEAKER 04 :
What do we talk about? What’s the debate about the Pope? If there is a… Should he have died? If there’s a school shooting at 3, it’s the first 30 minutes of the 5, as they just ask utilitarian questions to some reporter on the scene. But you could argue about a school shooting. You can debate a school shooting. There’s a Second Amendment issue. There’s nothing controversial about this papacy. What are you going to debate about the death of the Pope? The same stuff that I debated with people all flippin’ day yesterday and probably today. What did you debate about? The mixed legacy of Francis. The heart for service. The humility. The outreach that he brought up against the inclusion of woke politics. You don’t think Jesse Waters would have a thing or two or five or six or seven to say about the need for a Pope who is less woke?
SPEAKER 10 :
I mean, you are high. The weirdest things make you mad. The weirdest, I swear, the strangest things set you off.
