SPEAKER 20 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?

SPEAKER 15 :
Nope. It doesn’t even have to be the main character. It just needs to be a woman who is involved in the action in an action movie. That’s it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, I might revise my list a little bit.
SPEAKER 15 :
I was about to say it’s very broad. Now somebody will say I’m making a sexist comment.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, no. It’s a very broad topic.
SPEAKER 15 :
It’s a very broad topic. Say it that way. By the way, these are fun movies. These are a lot of fun. I really enjoy them.

SPEAKER 14 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 15 :
But there are a few exceptions.

Putting reason into your afternoon drive, this is John Rush.
SPEAKER 14 :
All right, we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush. Myself, Andy Pate, and Charlie Grimes, of course, our engineer. Richard, are you with us now as well?
SPEAKER 17 :
I am. I have two helpers, Joshua and Samuel, that are aiding me, but we are ready to roll.
SPEAKER 15 :
All right, Andy. I’m glad you have two helpers. We wanted to make sure the quality was kept up. There we go. All right. I’m going to start off with an obvious one. Here’s a few words from the bride in Kill Bill.
SPEAKER 22 :
I’ve killed a hell of a lot of people to get to this point. But I have only one more. The last one. The one I’m driving to right now. And when I arrive at my destination, I am going to kill Bill.
SPEAKER 15 :
Uma Thurman was great. I’m going to kill Bill. Was she terrific in those movies? I think so. Richard, did you see Kill Bill?
SPEAKER 17 :
I did. Well, I saw one. That’s Tarantino, right, Andy? Yeah, yeah. I’m not a huge Tarantino guy, just kind of the way he puts his movies together. But that one was good. He did a good job on that.
SPEAKER 15 :
The thing about Tarantino, because he likes to be arty, is that his movies do drag in between the action. But boy, when the action hits, it’s something. So there you go.
SPEAKER 17 :
You are up, sir. He does an exceptional job at that. Okay, another one that was kind of artsy, but in its own way, but that is, I think it’s Julianne, not Julianne Moore, maybe Julianne Moore, in Kingsman, Poppy.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, yeah. Oh, that’s a good one. She was good. Don’t have that on my list.
SPEAKER 17 :
She was pretty good. I mean, Kingsman, kind of a weird little, you know, feel, but it was good.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, it was a fun movie, I thought. Yeah, I’ll buy that. John, you’re up. Top of my list, Lucy. Lucy.
SPEAKER 15 :
Weird movie, but good. She does really good action movies. You know, she really does. She’s getting up there, but she’s got another one, by the way, coming up. Oh, really? The next Jurassic movie. Oh. Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, speaking of Jurassic. Okay. I don’t know how. I didn’t watch hardly any TV on vacation at all because I just normally don’t. Did you check out? I don’t know. I was at one point, I don’t know, waiting for the wife, doing something, whatever. So I flipped the channel on, and there’s a Jurassic Park one on. And I don’t know which one this is, but Vince Vaughn was in it. And I’m like, I don’t remember Vince Vaughn in Jurassic Park. What did I miss? He was? I don’t remember that. Richard? Richard?
SPEAKER 17 :
I don’t think he was in. Yes, he was. I watched it. It was number two, The Lost World.
SPEAKER 14 :
There you go. Really? Yes, and I did not remember. I mean, was it that bad? I don’t remember. I guess so.
SPEAKER 1 :
97.
SPEAKER 14 :
I don’t know about the cameraman.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah, I don’t know if he was a cameraman, or he was like the assistant.
SPEAKER 14 :
He was something, because he was in there when the dinosaurs were shaking the two-truck thing, or the truck and trailer that’s going over the cliff, and he’s in there, and the T-Rex is shaking it all apart. Anyways, side note, I don’t remember him being in Jurassic Park.
SPEAKER 15 :
I did not either.
SPEAKER 14 :
So there you go.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay. All right, up next, and this is just a little bit of Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad. Here we go.
SPEAKER 05 :
by which she’s just crazy what was that i should kill everyone and escape sorry the voices i’m kidding that’s not what they really said this is the deal she was yeah fabulous she made the movie yeah we talked about it earlier absolutely she did yep richard you’re up
SPEAKER 17 :
All right, you made me think of a deck, because if we’re going to say Jurassic, or Lucy one, we have to go Jurassic Park, which Laura Dern in the first one.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh.
SPEAKER 17 :
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, that would count.
SPEAKER 17 :
She was good. She was good. And then they kind of brought her back into the other one, but that was a good one.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah. That was one of the, I guess because it was one of the first ones we had seen and experienced and so on, but yeah, great movie, by the way. Great movie.
SPEAKER 15 :
Very intense.
SPEAKER 14 :
You think? Yeah. That first one especially was. Wow. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 15 :
But at least they gobble up a lawyer. That’s good.
SPEAKER 14 :
And Newman from Seinfeld. Yes.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yes. Great. Anyways. And Samuel L. Jackson, although they did not gobble him up.
SPEAKER 14 :
No, they did. Good point. Good point. Okay, I’m going to do one, and I hadn’t seen this movie. I still need to watch the rest of it. I watched about two-thirds of it on the airplane here. I don’t know, a trip or two back, but Bumblebee. Oh, yeah. I haven’t watched the rest of it, but so far, so good. I’m through about, I don’t know, two-thirds of it.
SPEAKER 15 :
And the girl in that was very good, wasn’t she?
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 15 :
And by the way, that is one of the best Transformers movies. I liked it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 15 :
I liked it, too. Okay, here’s an obvious one. Katniss Everdeen, The Hunger Games. Here we go.
SPEAKER 27 :
Oh, yeah. And so it was decreed that each year, the 12 districts of Pan Am… shall offer up in tribute one young man and woman between the ages of 12 and 18 to be trained in the art of survival and to be prepared to fight to the death.
SPEAKER 24 :
This is the time to show them everything. Make sure they remember you. I just keep wishing I could think of a way to show them that they don’t own me. If I’m gonna die, I wanna still be me.
SPEAKER 01 :
I just can’t afford to think like that.
SPEAKER 15 :
Anyway, they didn’t have a lot of lines with her. It was mostly showing what she’s doing with the arrows, but she was terrific. Good movie. Yep. J-Law was great in that movie. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
All right, Andy, I’m going to kind of go with one. I’m going to go for two, because we can’t go down to the series too much. But, Dad, you made me think of it with Bumblebee. I’m going to go with Transformers, because you had Megan Fox, and then you had Rosie, I think, Huntington, Whiteley, or I’m not sure. But you want to talk about a transition – of obviously they couldn’t get Megan Fox to kind of come back for the third movie, I think it was, right?
SPEAKER 15 :
Right.
SPEAKER 17 :
And so they sort of – but you want to talk about like a – they just didn’t really – usually there’s sort of like a weird – like they have to sort of introduce it. But there wasn’t even that, Andy. There was just a – you know, they kind of glossed over and Sam Witwicky just moved right on.
SPEAKER 15 :
I agree.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah. Good. No, that one, definitely. Now, which one was the worst Transformers? You and Dan talked about it way back when.
SPEAKER 15 :
Dark Side of the Moon was awful. They had, like, three that were just so breathtakingly bad. The Beast one was just… Was it not good?
SPEAKER 17 :
I haven’t watched that one yet.
SPEAKER 15 :
They had three different Transformers movies that were all down near zero level. Not bad. Under one star. Under one star, yeah. So it’s kind of hard.
SPEAKER 14 :
So not Bumblebee.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah. It just depends on which one you see in a worse mood. Bumblebee, no, I gave that three and a half stars, and I gave the latest one, Transformers 1, four stars.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 15 :
So they’ve had some good ones.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. Let’s see here for me. Let’s do Atomic Blonde.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah. That was good. Yeah. Okay. I know you’ll hate this, but I got to say it. Furiosa.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, jeez. It’s on my list.
SPEAKER 15 :
A Mad Max saga. Here we go.
SPEAKER 1 :
Terrible movie.
SPEAKER 13 :
However long it takes, I promise you’ll find your way home.
SPEAKER 14 :
I cannot watch this movie anymore.
SPEAKER 15 :
And that was actually the sequel with Anya Taylor-Joy, and she was terrific. She did a great job. Right up there with Charlize Theron. So there you go. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
There you go, Andy. All right, I’m going to go with one that is Well, the kids actually said it because they obviously liked it, which is Sonic. And the gal, Andy, who’s the wife of Mr. Donut Lord, you know, 3000 or whoever he is.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah. Does she do a lot? I forget.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah, they stop it, especially in the last one here with Shadow. Okay, yeah. Granted, there is a new one coming out, so you kind of play into it, but she’s in it. Plus, again, the kids wanted to mention Sonic, Andy.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, they got to mention Sonic. Way to go. Can’t deny that.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 15 :
He’d be a bad father if you denied that.
SPEAKER 14 :
How about… And I know it wasn’t a great movie, but it wasn’t… I mean, I think Andy probably thought it was worse than I did. I watched it. I wouldn’t watch it again, but Captain Marvel.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, you know, I didn’t hate it as much as a lot of the critics did, but I didn’t think it was very good.
SPEAKER 14 :
It wasn’t great, but it’s worth watching once.
SPEAKER 15 :
I found Captain Marvel to be a little below average.
SPEAKER 14 :
Much below average.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, well, no, much below would be the Marvels. Okay. They dropped off a cliff with that one. Okay, how about this? And as you well know, one of my favorite actresses is Emily Blunt. Let’s be honest. And here she is in Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise. Good movie.
SPEAKER 14 :
I watched it the other day.
SPEAKER 24 :
Again. Again.
SPEAKER 30 :
Again. Again.
SPEAKER 14 :
She keeps killing him every time. Yeah, this is a Groundhog Day theme.
SPEAKER 09 :
Just wait, wait. I think I’m okay.
SPEAKER 20 :
On your feet, maggot. Maggot. Maggot. I’m trying to be nice to you, maggot. Now move.
SPEAKER 31 :
You okay, Cage? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I’m good. I’m good. Your leg’s broken. No, I can still feel my toes. Come on.
SPEAKER 14 :
I had forgotten how many times he died. Oh, I know. Until watching that the other day. I hadn’t seen it forever, and I watched it the other day. But come on.
SPEAKER 15 :
Is she wonderful or what?
SPEAKER 14 :
The whole movie’s good.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, the whole movie’s great, of course. He’s always great, but she’s always great.
SPEAKER 14 :
Agree. Great movie.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Good one, Andy.
SPEAKER 17 :
Okay, go ahead. Richard, you were up. Gotcha. Okay, I can’t believe we haven’t said this one, and I’m not sure. So if I do a Bond movie, do I have to specify or can I just say the Bond?
SPEAKER 15 :
The Bond girls?
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah, the Bond girls. I mean, you had lots of different ones, right? You sort of had the helpers or his assistant people.
SPEAKER 15 :
It is hard to pick a best one for an action girl in a Bond movie. Which would be the best one? The Asian lady in that one Pierce Brosnan one was really good.
SPEAKER 17 :
Tomorrow Never Dies. Halle Berry wasn’t too bad. Oh, she was great. But it was a good story, I thought.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah. She had the classic scene coming up out of the water. I know. I’m a guy, okay? I’m a guy. No, you’re right. You’re right. Besides which, I’ve always loved Halle Berry. She’s terrific. We’ll go with her. We’ll go with Halle Berry. Who, by the way, another action movie, she played Storm in the X-Men, and she was great in that, too. Oh, Andy, way to go. Was that one of yours? Yes. Oh, I’m sorry. And he went out of turn. I’m so sorry.
SPEAKER 14 :
My turn? Go ahead, John. I’m in trouble. You guys just reminded me of, I think all of the Austin Powers had at least one female. Oh, yeah. As part of the repertoire of actors.
SPEAKER 15 :
They were great, too.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah. Am I correct? Wasn’t Halle Berry one of those also? Beyonce. Beyonce.
SPEAKER 17 :
No. No, no. Halle Berry wasn’t in. No, it was Beyonce.
SPEAKER 14 :
Beyonce. Sorry. Way to go, Dad. It’s been a while since I watched it. I’m sorry.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, and let’s face it, none of us have seen the third one more than once.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, that’s true.
SPEAKER 15 :
It wasn’t that good.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s true. Good point.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, how about a little Sandra Bullock here in Miss Congeniality? Here we go.
SPEAKER 12 :
Get ready.
SPEAKER 21 :
Guns!
SPEAKER 09 :
For the new face of the FBI.
SPEAKER 21 :
Of course he had a gun. This is Texas. Everybody has a gun. My florist has a gun.
SPEAKER 09 :
Miss Congeniality.
SPEAKER 20 :
What is the one thing our society needs?
SPEAKER 18 :
World peace. World peace. World peace. Harsher punishment for a parole violator, Stan. And world peace.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s pretty good.
SPEAKER 15 :
I thought that was a fun little movie. I enjoyed that. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Okay, let’s see. Okay, I don’t know.
SPEAKER 15 :
I know one you can’t use now.
SPEAKER 17 :
Sorry. I know you can use it. So this isn’t quite action-y, Andy, but my daughter’s here, so I have to go with it, which is Elsa. Because there’s some action parts in there, you know? I would say so, yes. And, Dad, I know you can’t say no because it’s your granddaughter, so I’m just taking advantage of you two.
SPEAKER 14 :
You got to go with it. Okay, I have one. I like it. Probably not an action movie, but I watched it on the plane. It’s been forever since I’ve seen it. Forgot how good the movie really is, and it’s a true story. And it’s only because of the female portion of the story that this horse went on to become the most famous racehorse of all time, Secretariat.
SPEAKER 1 :
Oh.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 14 :
And she was a hero because had it not been for her saving the family farm and doing everything she did to keep things rolling along, it never would have happened.
SPEAKER 15 :
Works for me.
SPEAKER 14 :
Great movie, by the way. I forgot how good that movie was.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay. Well, here’s a movie that I guarantee we always forget how good it was, but Alita Battle Angel. Here we go. That was on my list.
SPEAKER 23 :
I will take on anyone in this room. And if I win, you fight alongside me. This bitch broke my nose. Yes, I did. Heroes? All I see are junkyard punks, assorted cyber trash, and a bunch of drunken motorball burnouts too slow to play the game.
SPEAKER 15 :
And then she beats them all. Yeah, yeah. Good movie. Yeah. Surprisingly. Did Spielberg do that?
SPEAKER 1 :
I don’t remember.
SPEAKER 15 :
I thought he might have. I can’t remember. Okay, Richard, you’re up. Richard, did you see Alita Battle Angel?
SPEAKER 17 :
I never saw that one, Andy. That’s a good movie. It’s a fun movie.
SPEAKER 26 :
Yeah, it’s a good movie.
SPEAKER 17 :
Okay. I’ll take your word for it. I’m going to go with one that maybe you’re not going to think of, and that is Thor, but not for Natalie Portman. I’m going to go with Thor Ragnarok for the Valkyrie chick.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, yeah. Yeah, they were good.
SPEAKER 14 :
I agree.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 15 :
And Ragnarok, by the way, was very funny. That was a fun movie. Good one. It was. Go, John. Go.
SPEAKER 14 :
Quick and the Dead.
SPEAKER 15 :
The Quick and the Dead. Here we go.
SPEAKER 14 :
She saves the town.
SPEAKER 15 :
Here we go.
SPEAKER 20 :
You’re not fast enough for me. Today I am.
SPEAKER 14 :
Today I am. Today I am. Okay, speaking of Westerners, really quick, before we go to break, before we go to break, I was watching two guys the other day on a video, and they were talking about Tombstone. And Val Kilmer and his character in Tombstone. Fantastic. Talking about how you can take almost every single line Val Kilmer said in Tombstone and make it a one-liner. Yes. Almost every single thing he said you can pull out and it’s a one-liner. I know. He was so good. They’re all good.
SPEAKER 15 :
It was so good. And it wasn’t just the way they were written. It was his delivery.
SPEAKER 14 :
Everything. One of his best movies of all time.
SPEAKER 15 :
I believe it was, for me, it was his best performance ever. Now, he’s had so many, I know, but for me, that was his best ever.
SPEAKER 14 :
Because he was sick, played the part well.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, so good.
SPEAKER 14 :
I mean, everything about it, just solid, by the way.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Solid. All right, we’ll take a break. We’ll come back. Flesh Law coming up next. Whether you’re looking for criminal help, civil help, you name it, Kevin is always there to help you. Not afraid to go to court, 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 04 :
Here’s why you need personal injury attorney Kevin Flesch on your side. He understands the way the jury thinks. In the context of a personal injury case, you’ve been hurt by someone else’s negligence. The idea is that you’re going to try to recover so that you can get back to where you were just prior to that incident occurring. What that really means from a jurist’s perspective is that you’re going to be asking them to award you money. So when we talk about fairness, we’re talking about six people that you don’t know. Those six people view the evidence and make a unanimous decision that will decide what the fair value is. When you’re the one who’s hurt, you have a good idea of what you think it’s worth. The question is, can you persuade those other individuals whom you don’t know and were witnesses to believe that’s what the case is worth? Kevin Flesch understands the way the jury thinks. Call now for a free consultation, 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 14 :

And we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Myself, Andy Pate, Charlie Grimes, and, of course, Richard Rush joining us as well. Andy, your turn.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, an actress who redefined women in action movies, and she really did, was Sigourney Weaver as Ripley in Aliens.
SPEAKER 14 :
Very well said.
SPEAKER 25 :
I hope you’re right. I really do.
SPEAKER 30 :
Yeah, okay, right. Thank you, Ripley. We also have Ripley’s report on disk. I suggest you study it.
SPEAKER 25 :
Because just one of those things managed to wipe out my entire crew in less than 24 hours. And if the colonists have found that ship, then there’s no telling how many of them have been exposed. Do you understand?
SPEAKER 30 :
Anyway, we have it on disk, so you better look at it.
SPEAKER 15 :
They’re not listening to her. Guys, there could be hundreds of those things down on this planet where you’re going. Aliens was a war, and what a great movie. And she was spectacular in it. And her final battle with the Queen, wow, incredible. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
All right, Andy. We haven’t mentioned the most famous one, right? Wonder Woman, have we?
SPEAKER 15 :
No, we have not mentioned her. Here we go. Here we go.
SPEAKER 23 :
Who are you? I am Diana of Themyscira. Daughter of Hippolyta, in the name of all that is good, your wrath upon this world is over.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yep, that’s not gonna work. Please put the sword down.
SPEAKER 22 :
It doesn’t go with the outfit.
SPEAKER 15 :
At all. Wonder Woman was also a pretty funny movie. It was just a very, very good movie. I gave it four stars. I thought it was really good.
SPEAKER 14 :
You hated 1984, right?
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, yeah. But everybody alive hated 1984.
SPEAKER 14 :
I didn’t think it was that bad.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay. Except you. Except me.
SPEAKER 14 :
There we go.
SPEAKER 15 :
You’re the only one, man. One of us. Everybody else says it ruined a franchise.
SPEAKER 14 :
But John? I mean, it wasn’t their greatest movie, but I didn’t think it was that bad. You know what? You should buy up all the copies. There we go. I’d probably be the only one out there with them. There you go. Richard. You’re up? Richard.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, I’m up? Richard did Wonder Woman.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, Richard. Oh, that’s right. You played. Okay, gotcha, gotcha. Okay. I have one that came in from a listener, Helen Moran in Red.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, yeah. Helen Moran in Red was amazing. She was so good.
SPEAKER 14 :
Agree.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay. One of my favorites, of course, Kate Beckinsale, one of my heartthrobs until I got married, in Underworld. Here we go.
SPEAKER 23 :
You’re in the middle of a war that’s been raging for the better part of a thousand years. A blood feud between vampires and lycans.
SPEAKER 20 :
Werewolves. Now, a decision must be made.
SPEAKER 32 :
Why did you bring him here? You saved my life.
SPEAKER 20 :
Between an oath sworn centuries ago. Perhuman. He’s not a human at all. He’s a lycan. And a power that can’t be no such human.
SPEAKER 21 :
Greater than vengeance. You’ll be lucky if I can convince the consuls to spare your life. Absolution will be yours the moment you kill Michael.
SPEAKER 15 :
She was fantastic in Underworld. Have either of you seen Underworld? Am I the only one here?
SPEAKER 14 :
No, I’m not.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh.
SPEAKER 17 :
It’s been a minute, Andy, but I’m with you.
SPEAKER 15 :
It’s a classic. She was so good. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
All right, Andy. In honor of Kate Beckinsale, like you just did, I’m going to go with this route, which is Van Helsing. Yes! She was so good. I’ve never seen that. Dad, you’re missing. You have it, and we go through this every week.
SPEAKER 14 :
I know. We do go through this. You’ve got to watch it. I guess I’ll download it one of these days and watch it.
SPEAKER 17 :
It’s just a good action movie. I mean, it’s not like amazing acting. It’s not amazing storytelling. You’re not going to walk away thinking, like, this is the masterpiece of the century. But it’s good old-fashioned everything, right?
SPEAKER 15 :
It’s monster fun. Okay. It’s monster fun, and it’s just a really good movie. Hugh Jackman is the star, and Kate Beckinsale is in it. They’re terrific. I love it. Angelina Jolie, Laura Croft, Tomb Raider. Oh, she was terrific, wasn’t she?
SPEAKER 14 :
First one I think was still the best.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, totally, totally. I totally agree. Okay, here we go with Resident Evil.
SPEAKER 05 :
Now, an elite team has been sent in to stop it.
SPEAKER 08 :
Five hours ago, Rick, we went homicidal.
SPEAKER 05 :
Who’s the Red Queen?
SPEAKER 08 :
State-of-the-art artificial intelligence. The corporation’s keeping a few secrets down here.
SPEAKER 05 :
But they have only three hours left before it begins infecting and mutating the whole human race.
SPEAKER 08 :
Everyone stay calm.
SPEAKER 23 :
You have to get out.
SPEAKER 10 :
Don’t listen to anything she says. She’s a holographic representation of the Red Queen.
SPEAKER 23 :
She may be our only way out of here.
SPEAKER 15 :
That’s Mila Jovovich, and the first Resident Evil, when it came out, took the world by storm. People loved it, and they made a million of them, you know, but Mila Jovovich was wonderful in that role. Okay, Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Oh, let’s see here. Andy, oh, where’s my, what was she in? I can’t remember that. Okay, well, my kid said this, and he’s helping me right now. I’m going to go Spider-Man. And, of course, Mary Jane, which is Kirsten Dunst. Or Zendaya, right? I mean, they’re both really good.
SPEAKER 15 :
Or who? What? Oh, Zendaya.
SPEAKER 17 :
And the newest Zendaya, yeah.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, you know, I didn’t like the Zendaya one as much. I mean, she was okay, but some of the other characters I didn’t like much in that one. I really liked the one with Kirsten Dunst. She was my fave. She was pretty good. She was really good. All right. John, you’re up.
SPEAKER 14 :
Terminator 2, Judgment Day, Linda Hamilton.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, here we go.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. And here we are. Morning, Sarah.
SPEAKER 23 :
Good morning, Dr. Silverman. How’s the knee?
SPEAKER 08 :
Fine, Sarah. She stabbed me in the kneecap with my pen a few weeks ago. Repeated escape attempts.
SPEAKER 15 :
Just listen to her. She was just… She was fantastic. Linda Hamilton remade herself for that role. And, oh, was she awesome. Yeah. Just a great role. Yeah. Okay, another great role. Geez, I’m forgetting the actress’s name now. I’m sorry about this, but The Hunt. Here we go. And she was wonderful. There’s been a killing spree. You’ve got to come here right now. Oh!
SPEAKER 22 :
You actually believed we were hunting human beings for sport. But you are.
SPEAKER 09 :
We have an opportunity here to teach these people.
SPEAKER 16 :
These are not real people. They’re actors.
SPEAKER 09 :
I’m playing an Arab refugee, but I identify as white. I think that’s problematic too, in some way.
SPEAKER 22 :
You wanted it to be real, so you decided it was.
SPEAKER 14 :
Hilary Swank.
SPEAKER 15 :
Hilary Swank was the bad lady. The good one was Betty Gilpin. Betty Gilpin. And by the way, The Hunt, once again, was a movie where Trump supporters get hunted, but the movie is actually about hunting the liberals who hunted them.
SPEAKER 14 :
Interesting.
SPEAKER 15 :
And if you want to see a bunch of liberals get hunted down, well, that movie, you’re really going to enjoy it. All righty then. I’ve seen it twice. I loved it. Okay, Richard, go.
SPEAKER 17 :
All right, did we, I think, did we say Tomb Raider?
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes. Lara Croft.
SPEAKER 17 :
I thought you did. I was just making sure. Just was making sure. All right, let’s see here. Oh, Princess Leia, Andy. Yeah.
SPEAKER 15 :
Leia, she was very action-y. Take charge, lady. We missed it. I’m just saying, she was. Yeah, good one. Especially in the later ones, she took charge, right? Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah. Good one. Good one. John, go. And what was the actress’s name? Anybody? Anyone?
SPEAKER 15 :
Carrie Fisher. Carrie Fisher.
SPEAKER 14 :
There we go.
SPEAKER 15 :
Carrie Fisher was short. I just want to say that.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, you’re right.
SPEAKER 15 :
There was not a lot of her.
SPEAKER 14 :
All right, we’ll take calls in a moment. Mine is going to be Divergent, Chalene Woodley. Yeah. That was a good movie. The first one, again, way better than the second, as always. Yeah, the second one fell off. Yeah, it fell right off the old planet there. Yeah, it did. All right, let’s go to John and Cheyenne. Go ahead, John.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, I got a few of them. If you don’t mind if I mention them. Sure, go ahead. Yeah, the first one is Alita, Battle Angel.
SPEAKER 26 :
Yep, we got that one.
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, we did? Yeah, Andy got it. That’s a good one. How about Paycheck with Uma Thurman? Oh!
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, I forgot about that one.
SPEAKER 11 :
Nicely done, sir.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, good one.
SPEAKER 11 :
Two comedy action movies. First one is Hot Pursuit with Reese Witherspoon. Yep. That’s a good action comedy.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s with Thea Begar as well.
SPEAKER 11 :
We’re going to… Second action comedy is Keeping Up with the Joneses.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, I almost had that on my list, but I didn’t put it down, so good job.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, a Western is Raquel Welsh and Bandolero.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s one of Charlie’s that he wanted us to mention, so good job. Classic. Okay, and did you tell me… And One Million Years B.C., he said as well, for Raquel.
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, that’s a good one. That’s a good one, too, yeah. And anybody mention the Guardians of the Galaxy series?
SPEAKER 15 :
We did not. It’s on my list, but I had not mentioned it yet. She was wonderful.
SPEAKER 11 :
Sorry to steal your thunder there. No, that’s okay.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, thank you. John, thank you very much. Appreciate it. Donovan, you are next. Go ahead.
SPEAKER 16 :
Hey, John. Boris Leachman in Young Frankenstein and High Anxiety.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, I’m typing out here. Yeah, he’s typing. Good ones. I like Cloris Leachman. Boy, she was funny.
SPEAKER 16 :
And then there would be one other one that, of course, I was young then, but the woman that played Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
SPEAKER 15 :
Who won Best Supporting Actress for that role. I forget the name of the actress, but she was wonderful.
SPEAKER 16 :
She was wonderful. There was a little blurb on that I read.
SPEAKER 15 :
I don’t think that was Leachman.
SPEAKER 16 :
No, that wasn’t Leach. I can’t remember her name. But she always played that real uptight nurse in that movie.
SPEAKER 15 :
She was wonderful.
SPEAKER 16 :
The last day of shooting, she came out in broad panties and danced on top of the table. Charlie just got it for us. Louise Fletcher.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yes, yes. Wonderful, wonderful. There you go.
SPEAKER 16 :
I thought she was just gorgeous.
SPEAKER 15 :
All right, guys, love the show.
SPEAKER 14 :
Donovan, thank you very much, as always. We appreciate it. All right, Andy, take it away.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, how about Gina Davis in The Long Kiss Goodnight?
SPEAKER 30 :
Here we go. Charlie Baltimore’s alive, sir.
SPEAKER 02 :
Who are you? Name’s Charlie.
SPEAKER 18 :
The spy. Back when we first met, you were all like, oh boy, I burned the darn muffins. Now, you go into a bar, ten minutes later, sailors come running out. How about up with that? This fall.
SPEAKER 31 :
Honk if there’s any trouble.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yes, Miss Daisy, I be honking. If you have plans for a calm, quiet evening.
SPEAKER 23 :
Cover your ears. Hey, should we get a dog?
SPEAKER 28 :
It’s time to kiss them all.
SPEAKER 15 :
Good night. She and Samuel L. Jackson were really good together in that movie. I don’t know if you ever saw it, but it was good. Richard, you’re up. All right, first I have someone who wants to say something.
SPEAKER 31 :
Hi, Papa.
SPEAKER 14 :
Hey, buddy, how are you?
SPEAKER 31 :
Good.
SPEAKER 14 :
Good. Are you helping? He’s helping. All right. Good job.
SPEAKER 17 :
I’m going to go. He did not help on this one. Which is an Apple TV movie, Dad. I’m not sure if you’ve seen this one yet. Ghost with Anna de Armas and Chris Evans.
SPEAKER 14 :
I have not seen it. Is it good?
SPEAKER 17 :
I mean, it wasn’t great. You know, it kind of sounds like it looks like it was. I may watch it on my upcoming trip, but we’ll see.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. Bond girl, Charlie said. Yes, she is. Yes. Okay. So I have my next one because there’s quite a few that I’ll rattle off in here. So Oceans 8, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, and the list goes on. Yeah. Awkwafina.
SPEAKER 15 :
Awkwafina. I thought she made it.
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, that’s one of those movies where it wasn’t that great, but it’s still watchable.
SPEAKER 15 :
I’m not going to play a clip here, but I got to mention my Emily Blunt again with A Quiet Place.
SPEAKER 26 :
Oh, so good.
SPEAKER 15 :
Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
I’m not sure if that’s quite action anymore. Oh, come on.
SPEAKER 15 :
It was tense, but they were also on the run.
SPEAKER 14 :
She had a baby while the alien was after.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah, come on. Come on. Did we do Sandra Bullock in the net?
SPEAKER 14 :
No, it’s on my list. No, we did not. It’s on my list. There you go. Let’s see here. Oh, let’s see here. Jodie Foster, Panic Room.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Weird movie, but… Yeah, but I like her. I watched like a half an hour of that the other day just to where I was like, okay, I’ve seen enough. I’ll watch something else now.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, it’s not a two-timer.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, it’s a little slow at times. Get to the point, people. Let’s go.
SPEAKER 15 :
Here’s one I can only see once and two actresses, Grace Curry and Virginia Gardner in Fall. Here we go.
SPEAKER 23 :
I’m not sure how do we get down. I don’t have a signal.
SPEAKER 22 :
The water is down there in that bag.
SPEAKER 05 :
We have 50 feet of rope.
SPEAKER 25 :
I think I can drop myself lower.
SPEAKER 22 :
Can’t watch this movie.
SPEAKER 26 :
Okay, I’m going to jump onto the flag. Hunter, no. Hunter!
SPEAKER 23 :
Every hour that passes, the weaker we get. If anyone called 911, they’d be here by now. What is it that Dan used to say? If you’re scared of dying, don’t be afraid of it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, can’t watch it. I watched parts of it, and I’m like, yeah, I can’t do it.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, I know. That was hard for me, because you know me. I’m afraid of heights.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, I don’t like it.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, no thanks. Can’t do it. But it was a four-star movie. It was very good. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
All right. I’ll do another Angelina Jolie movie, which is Wanted, where they bend the bullet.
SPEAKER 26 :
Yep.
SPEAKER 17 :
Good one. Good one. Easy as I’ll get out, but not a bad little Friday night.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Red Sparrow, Jennifer Lawrence.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, okay. Well, tell you what, since we’re seeing with Angelina Jolie, here we go. Salt.
SPEAKER 32 :
Today, a Russian agent will travel to New York City to kill the president. This agent is K-12.
SPEAKER 22 :
The K-A program.
SPEAKER 32 :
name.
SPEAKER 21 :
You’re good. You can tell the rest of your story to one of my colleagues.
SPEAKER 32 :
The name of the agent is Evelyn Salt. My name is Evelyn Salt. Then you are a Russian spy.
SPEAKER 15 :
And from there, she’s on the run. That was good. I love Angelina Jolie. She’s terrific. Okay, Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Alright, let’s see here. Oh, you did Atomic Blonde, Andy, didn’t you?
SPEAKER 14 :
Yep.
SPEAKER 17 :
Kate Beckinsale Canary Black.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, yeah. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that movie. I’ll have to watch it.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah. I think it was good. Honestly, I was actually planning on watching it coming up here, but I heard it was good.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, it was pretty good. Go ahead, John.
SPEAKER 14 :
All right, let’s see if you guys can name the movie. Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore.
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, Charlie’s Angels.
SPEAKER 14 :
Charlie’s Angels. Good job.
SPEAKER 15 :
We did Florence Pugh earlier. Let’s use her again. Fighting With My Family. I mean, that was action in the ring, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And by the way, very good movie. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Oh, let’s see here. Okay, I’ve got one. Swordfish with Halle Berry through Jackman. One of my favorites.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. I hadn’t thought of that. That’s a good one.
SPEAKER 15 :
Go ahead, John.
SPEAKER 14 :
Um… Got to pick these out here. Charlie had requested that we try to get actress names along with this as we do this. So I’m doing my best to do that as we’re rolling along here. So Margot Robbie, Birds of Prey, which goes along with the suicide.
SPEAKER 15 :
Right, right, back to Harley Quinn. She was great. How about Michelle Dockery? And she was in a movie with Mark Wahlberg that just came out, Flight Risk, which is a better movie than the critics gave credit, and it did much better than they expected. So there you go. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
I’m going to go with Natalie Portman, Andy, in V for Vendetta.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
She did a good job. Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson. I know, it wasn’t that great of a movie, but…
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, how about a cartoon? Mulan.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh. Come on. Who plays Mulan?
SPEAKER 15 :
I don’t know who did the voice. It’s a cartoon. But she was great. By the way, Mulan is one of the funnest little Disney cartoons I’ve seen. It was terrific. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
There you go, Andy. All right. Oh, I can’t say that one because Charlie’s going to get me. I will go with The Kitchen, which is Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Adish, Elizabeth Moss.
SPEAKER 14 :
Good job. Okay. How about Trinity, Matrix, and that’s Carrie Ann Ross. Or Moss, I mean.
SPEAKER 15 :
I loved her in that. Wasn’t she fantastic?
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, and for being a co-character, pretty good. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Pretty solid.
SPEAKER 15 :
Let’s go back to Scarlett Johansson. Always great in action movies in The Avengers. There you go. Black Widow. We got a user there.
SPEAKER 17 :
Okay, Richard, you’re up. Jodie Foster, again, in Flight Plan.
SPEAKER 14 :
No, he just said that one. Or no, that’s a different one. It’s a different one. Same name. Flight Risk was mine. Flight Risk, Flight Plan. Very close.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well done.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. Now, this one we could probably, you’d have to pick which female actress played Catwoman, but there’s the movie itself and then, of course, other. That would be Halle Berry. Yeah, and then there’s others that were along the line with, you know, Batman and all of that, but yeah. Michelle Pfeiffer and so on, so yes.
SPEAKER 15 :
All right, well, let’s go back to Scarlett Johansson again in Ghost in the Shell, a remake of the Japanese cartoon movie. Very well done. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
All right, I’m going to go with one that you may not think of, Andy, and it’s just, again, I’m kind of going to the bottom of my barrel a little bit, which is Death Race, and it is Natalie Martinez. Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah. That’s an interesting movie.
SPEAKER 17 :
Jason Statham, yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, yeah. No, I agree. I agree. Let’s see here. Hitman’s wife or Hitman. I can’t talk. Hitman’s wife’s bodyguard. But I don’t know the actress. Somebody ought to help me with that one.
SPEAKER 15 :
Salma Hayek. Salma Hayek.
SPEAKER 14 :
There we go. Thank you.
SPEAKER 15 :
She’s great. Okay, this one you wouldn’t think of, but this is the ultimate action girl, Chloe Grace Moretz as Hit Girl in the movie Kick-Ass.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 15 :
And boy, was she action and killing. That’s all she did. Richard, you’re up.
SPEAKER 17 :
Double Jeopardy, Ashley Judd.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 17 :
Good job.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. Um… Hang on, I’m looking up the female character, Ava, and that was played by Jessica Chastain.
SPEAKER 15 :
I like Jessica Chastain. How about Charlize Theron again in The Italian Job? There was action in that.
SPEAKER 14 :
One more, Richard. This will be it for you.
SPEAKER 17 :
Yep, Richard. Oh, this is perfect. This is going to be it for me. I’m going to go with Saps and the Furious, and you’ve got Jordana Brewster, you’ve got Charlize Theron, you’ve got Michelle Rodriguez, lots of them.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 17 :
And a great action movie.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yep. Good one. G.I. Jane. And that was… Oh, why can’t I think of her name off the top of my head?
SPEAKER 15 :
She was married to Bruce Willis.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah. She was in the… Demi Moore.
SPEAKER 15 :
There you go.
SPEAKER 14 :

About a minute and a half or so, Andy, so rattle off. I don’t have that many left, but go ahead and rattle off a few for us if you would like.
SPEAKER 15 :
Okay, I’ve got some names. Sandra Bullock, of course, in Speed.
SPEAKER 14 :
Good one.
SPEAKER 15 :
Charlize Theron in Aeon Flux. Michelle Yao in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Felicity Jones in Rogue One. Mila Jovovich in Ultraviolet and The Fifth Element. You got Daisy Ridley in Star Wars, The Force Awakens. You got Daisy Ridley again in Cleaner, which came out recently. And young Lily Sullivan was phenomenal as Beth in Evil Dead Rise.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. I’ve got just a few here that I’ll rattle off. Luckily, we’ve got plenty of time. So The Killer, and I don’t know the names of these actresses, so my bad. I did not look those up ahead of time. The Killer, Ghosted, and you might know some of these, Peppermint, Jolt.
SPEAKER 15 :
Peppermint, Jennifer Garner.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, and Kidnapped.
SPEAKER 15 :
Kidnapped. I don’t know that one.
SPEAKER 14 :
And I didn’t look those up. I apologize. Oh, Jane Fonda, Barbarella. There you go.
SPEAKER 15 :
Oh, classic. Okay. And I don’t have the names in front of me. I do know Charlize Theron was in Prometheus. Sucker Punch. Don’t remember the actress. Haywire. Don’t remember the actress. The Descent. Don’t remember the actress. Sorry, guys.
SPEAKER 14 :
I know. Look them up.
SPEAKER 15 :
