The Washington Commanders and wide receiver Terry McLaurin agreed to a three-year, $96 million contract extension. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, McLaurin’s agents Buddy Baker and Tony Bonagura shared that the WR will receive a $30 million signing bonus in the deal.

McLaurin, 29, was entering the final year of the three-year, $68.3 million pact he signed in 2022. He is set to receive a base salary of $15.5 million in 2025. McLaurin missed mandatory minicamp and the first four days of training camp. He requested a trade in July, but is now tied to the team through 2028.

The pass catcher out of Ohio State totaled 82 catches for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns over 17 starts last season. He missed just three games since entering the league as a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and has not missed a start over the last four seasons; and made the Pro Bowl in two of the last three years. Over the first 97 starts of his NFL career, McLaurin totaled 460 catches for 6,379 yards and 38 scores.

The Commanders will host the New York Giants in their season opener Sept. 7 in Landover, Md.
