Taylor Swift’s engagement dominates headlines while Cracker Barrel backs off woke policies under pressure from Trump supporters. Mike Gallagher breaks down how pop culture and politics collide — and why the left panics every time Trump wins another cultural battle.

SPEAKER 03 :
I hate it when I come into work and I know something big has happened and I don’t understand it. I feel like I’m left out of the party. I feel like I’m the person not picked to play, you know, pickleball. I’m excited about pickleball, by the way. I mean, does this confirm that I’m officially a boomer? I just saw an article this morning when I was getting ready for work. They’re going to have this massive indoor pickleball facility near where I live. And I used to play tennis pretty well. I was a pretty good tennis player. I loved playing tennis. And, you know, the years go by. You slow down a little bit. Pickleball, I have never held a pickleball racket in my life. Is it like a wiffle ball? It’s like a plastic ball, right? I’ve never played pickleball. I don’t even know. I just hear that it might be right up my alley. So I’m kind of excited to check it out. I might join that club and become a star athlete. I’ll become the pickleball champion of Tampa Bay, Florida. You never know. So anyway, I hate it. Pickleball’s a thing. I haven’t really been involved in that. I come to work. Tracy is bouncing off the wall. She can’t stop talking about Taylor Swift getting married to, what’s his name, Travis Kelsey. News anchors are breaking down and crying on TV. People are posting on social media, grown men posting on social media, that they are emotionally… overwhelmed by the news that Taylor Swift is engaged. I know she’s big. I know she’s a big star. I’m not trying to sound obtuse when I say I wouldn’t know a Taylor Swift song if it bit me, but that’s just me. Okay. I know she’s big. She fills stadiums. The woman’s a billionaire. She’s a big deal. She’s probably a very nice young lady. You should hear Tracy babbling about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey getting engaged. She is going on like this is her niece, like she knows her. Oh, she’s giving money to cancer patients, and she’s a nice person, and she’s got a lot of songs. Because Tracy’s trying to explain to me why people are breaking down on social media. Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married, she posted. Oh! People are screaming. Now, what the heck reference that is? Is Taylor the English teacher? And Travis is the gym teacher? What the heck does that mean? So, look, I promise we’re not going to spend a whole lot of time on it. I just want to commiserate with you if you, like me, don’t get this. Because I don’t get it on any level. I don’t have any idea why people are, I mean, I know it’s a big pop culture moment. I appreciate that. Why would grown men weep? Now, you should have heard Tracy try to explain that. She’s got an answer. She can give me an explanation. It has something to do with the kind of songs that Taylor Swift sings. She sings songs about breakups. And Tracy’s looking at me like I’m crazy. You should have seen us. We’re in the hall and she’s saying, I’m cocking my head at her like she’s blowing a dog whistle at me. I’m like, she sings songs about breakups? So that causes grown men to start crying? When she announces she’s going to get married to the NFL star, what in the world are you talking about? Well, you just don’t know. You either know or you don’t know. You either get it or you don’t. And I admit, I don’t get it. If you do, you let me know. 800-655-MIKE. Incidentally, I very much resent the text message that greets me. First text message of the day on the MyPillow text line. Careful with that pickleball, Mike, writes Atlanta. My grandma broke her hip and wrist playing pickleball. I’m not going to break my wrist and my hip. I’m not 90. I’m not your grandma. I’m a youthful. I’m in my youthful 60s. I’m doing just fine. I got great things going on in my life. I’m fine. Do not bring me down. Do not insult me by saying I’m going to break my hip playing a round of pickleball. Now you’re making me mad. And I am mad about not understanding the significance of Taylor Swift getting engaged. What do you think? Five minutes on this, right, guys? Five minutes. 800-655-MIKE. We’re the Relief Factor Studios. Final Wednesday of the month. It’s Wednesday, August 27th. Welcome aboard. Glad you’re here. Maybe you can tell me why a grown man, and I saw like many, a grown man would cry at the prospect of a singer getting engaged. This is like the biggest story to hit the airwaves in years. And for the life of me, I don’t understand it. PhD weight loss has changed my life. And I’ve got a little secret for you. You know Big Pharma and semaglutide and the shots in the belly. Kilmar is our neighbor. You can’t have him trot.
SPEAKER 1 :
No! Kilmar is our neighbor. You can’t have him trot.
SPEAKER 02 :
In the ReliefFactor.com studios, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, that was quite the moment. Kilmar, the MS-13 gang member, is our neighbor. You can’t have him, Trump. Kilmar is a wife beater. You can’t have him, Trump. Yay, yay. It was the enthusiasm that really did me in. They really gave it their all, didn’t they? A bunch of boomers, a bunch of white liberal hippies sitting there with their pink vests. What’s with the pink vests? Is that the color that you wear when you honor MS-13 gang members? Pink vests? Good to know. Good to know. Here’s some news that’s good to know. Headline from Axios this morning. Here comes the cheapest Labor Day driving in years. The average U.S. gasoline price? On the Monday before Labor Day weekend, going down. Now, I know that around the country it might be up somewhere, and some people are saying we were here in Indiana, went up 10 cents. But overall, average gasoline prices will be lower than they have been in recent years. Hmm. Hmm. More good news. More good news. How about the good news from Cracker Barrel? I’m going to go eat there this weekend. I’m going to support Cracker Barrel. Want to know why I’m going to support Cracker Barrel? Because they did the right thing. They did a stupid thing. They decided to try to rebrand this beloved American institution. Ever have the chicken and dumplings at Cracker Barrel? Not exactly PhD friendly, but you can splurge a little bit and enjoy a good meal at Cracker Barrel. Once in a while. They’re dropping their new logo and returning to the Uncle Herschel old-timer design. The way Axios describes it, they’re making this move after criticism from some customers, including MAGA figures, who decried the switch as a woke gesture. The Lebanon, Tennessee-based chains announcement came hours after President Trump weighed in on the corporate culture war clash and called on Cracker Barrel to go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response. And that’s exactly what happened. Trump called on Cracker Barrel to go back to the old logo and admit their mistake and be successful. And that’s exactly what they did. They followed Trump’s advice. And evidently they even called the White House to thank President Trump for his input on the matter. Do you know how awful that is for Trump haters? Do you know how bad it is for Trump haters to be… To be dealing with the kind of influence that President Trump is exerting on the culture? I mean, look, I predict Cracker Barrel, go eat at Cracker Barrel. Support them. Don’t continue to harbor a grudge against them. And President Trump, in response, said, way to go, Cracker Barrel. You’re going to do great. Thanks for following my advice. This is a happy ending. This is not an unhappy story. This is a great outcome. Yeah, you had some woke, you know, female liberal with glasses, they always had the glasses on, that decided it would be a good idea to rebrand Cracker Barrel, of all places. Well, the proverbial ceiling caved in. The country said, no way. The president said, go back to the old logo, Cracker Barrel. And they did. And they admitted they made a mistake. I think we have to have a little bit more grace in our life. We have to exhibit grace more often and forgiveness. Look, they stumbled. The value of the company plummeted. People were boycotting Cracker Barrel. And they realized that they’ve infuriated their customers. They said, all right, we’re scrapping all of it, and we’re going back to the way it was. That’s a good thing. Here was Charlie last night, Charlie Kirk, on Fox News Channel with Laura Ingraham.
SPEAKER 01 :
President Trump, he runs both the Democrat Party because basically everything the Democrat Party says is just against Trump. So he gets to determine the entire agenda of the Democrat Party. And now he runs Cracker Barrel all from the Oval Office just on Truth Social. I’ll tell you what, it’s an amazing test case to show the similarities between the two, because both the Democrat Party and their attempted rebrand and Cracker Barrel, it shows that. When you market test in Brooklyn, you lose in Birmingham, Alabama. When you try to just always pander towards a small subset of elite opinion, of out-of-touch actors, and then you have contempt and bitterness for the very country that you either wish that they want to buy your products from or to vote from you. So there is this very interesting connective tissue here. And it’s not worth overthinking. By the way, you look at the ridiculous logo that Cracker Barrel thought was a good idea. Those are the same people… that thought that a bunch of people in Pennsylvania were going to come out in a lot of numbers for Kamala Harris. Like, oh, yeah, they’re going to be super excited for it. The big takeaway here, though, and I think this is important. is that the middle part of the country, they do not want to see their traditions and their customs and the things that they have come to love and appreciate taken from them. The Democrat Party has done that. So much of Trump’s base are former Democrats, and they became Trumplicans, if you will, Trump Republicans, because of the working class basis. The same thing with Cracker Barrel. And the reason why they saw such a huge response is they said, no, not again. You’re not going to take yet another institution, yet another restaurant, or… Uncle Herschel from us. We’ve had enough stolen from us. That’s why we love Trump and we want Cracker Barrel the way it should be.
SPEAKER 03 :
As usual, Charlie Kirk is spot on. He’s right. And when you try to think that you can focus group a bunch of Brooklynites or people on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and change something as iconic as Cracker Barrel, it backfires. But see, I really do believe that a big, heavy, heaping dose of grace is important here. We should appreciate what Cracker Barrel did. I don’t remember Bud Light backing down. I don’t remember Target backing down. I don’t remember these other big companies that tried to go woke, reverse their position so quickly. Look, they paid a heavy price because Americans boycotted them. But in Cracker Barrel’s case, they said, you know what? Thank you, Mr. President. You’re right. You are correct. We shouldn’t have done it. The Deputy White House Chief of Staff, Taylor Budowich… posted yesterday, So smart. Congratulations, Cracker Barrel and America. And I agree with Taylor. And I agree with Charlie. President Trump, once again, leads the way. The Trump haters cannot figure this out. The Trump phenomenon is so real, and the Trump haters, it makes their heads explode. It annoys them. It infuriates them. The man has profound influence on politics, on the culture. on the psyche of the American people. And he is breaking the people who are breakable. He’s forcing people to say they hate the military and the cops and safety. He’s forcing the left to say we don’t want safer cities. He’s forcing the left and the Democrats to say we don’t want a secure border. It is absolutely profound. And I say, go support Cracker Barrel. I’m going to go have dinner there this week. I’m going to start eating there more regularly because we ought to put our money where our mouth is. Now, there are people who are still frustrated. Oh, they’re still a little bit too woke. As long as the woke white liberal female CEO is still there, I’m mad at them. Don’t be mad at them. They did exactly what you demanded. They responded exactly the way President Trump suggested they do. They went back to the old way. They went back to the iconic logo. They went back to no more remodeling of the stores, making it look like an Ikea knockoff. They realized that they blew it. And when somebody makes a mistake and they say, you know what? I blew it. I’m sorry. I screwed up. I’m going to fix it. Thank you. When they do that, you ought to give them grace. You ought to say, good for you. And you ought to appreciate that. I mean, I’ve known people in my life. I’ve worked with people. They can never acknowledge they made a mistake. It’s not even capable. It’s as if they admit they made a mistake, that they are failing or that they’re weak or that they’re not as competent as they want to be. We all make mistakes. When you make a mistake, acknowledge it, fix it, and move on. That’s what Cracker Barrel did. Good for them. Good for them. I support strongly Cracker Barrel. Cracker Barrel, and I appreciate their reversal. I want to see if you do too. Let’s find out. Do you have the same take as I do, or are you still mad at him? Are you still going to boycott him? Are you still upset with Cracker Barrel even doing this in the first place? 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. Let’s talk a little bit about this astounding story. And to me, it is a big deal. It’s a big deal, not even so much about the Cracker Barrel story, but the influence that President Trump has on the country and the culture. That’s, to me, the biggest deal of all. And it’s a fact that the Trump haters, that the Democrats, that the rhinos, that the never-Trumpers, they can’t get out from under this. They can try, but they can’t escape it. Trump’s position as a cultural trendsetter in America is huge. And he’s the guy that got him to change it. When a president can get a company like Cracker Barrel to reverse course, that’s a very, very, very big deal. Every single day it’s a joy to remind you that portions of our show are sponsored by MyPillow. As you know, our friend Mike Lindell, big legal victory last week. SPEAKER 03 :
Gosh, there’s nothing but good news today. A lot of good news for a Wednesday. Welcome in. I am real happy today. A poll just came out showing Trump’s popularity continuing to rise. He’s up to about 53 to 55 percent in the AP poll. agreeing with his decision to send in the U.S. military and the National Guard to assist local police in large cities. Meanwhile, on the other side of the aisle, Democrats like Bill de Blasio in New York think that the Democrats will have a winning strategy if Democrats duplicate the socialist, communist radicalization policies of a guy like Zoran Mamdani in New York. That’s great. You guys keep going down that path, and we’ll see how the American people take that approach. Look, Americans don’t even like Cracker Barrel changing its logo. And you know what Cracker Barrel did? They reversed course. One of my favorite texters is Austin from Clearwater, Florida. And Austin was reflecting on my frustration at the way too many of us hold a grudge, too many of us don’t know how to take the win. President Trump himself urged Cracker Barrel to go back to their old logo and stop with all this nonsense with the, you know, remodeling and, you know, decharming the place. And you know what Cracker Barrel did? They listened. And they took his advice. Apparently, they even called the White House, talked to the White House deputy chief of staff and said, tell the president we appreciate his guidance on this. Uncle Herschel is back. And you know something? We’ve still got people on our side who want to hold a grudge against Cracker Barrel. Take the win. Appreciate the fact that a company got major backlash and said, whoops, you know what? We were wrong. We’re going to reverse course. We’re bringing back the old timer. We’re not going to change the stores. That’s a good thing. And I really believe that too many of us walk around just wanting to be mad at the world. So Austin and Clearwater writes, the whole part, the whole point, rather, of the protest is that Cracker Barrel is an iconic American brand. And it means something to us. What’s the point of it all if we still shun Cracker Barrel? People need to learn how to take the win. And look, are they perfect? Of course not. Are there still things they do policy-wise that fall short? Okay, perhaps. Probably every company does. But when a company comes along and says, we blew it, we were wrong, we’re going back to the way it was, take the win. Take the win. Stop carrying around a grudge. There are just so many people in a perpetual state of anxiety, of anger. And here’s the other thing that’s real important about Cracker Barrel’s fiasco. Charlie Gasparino wrote about this at the New York Post. Investors who are deciding where to put their money, who add corporate wokeness to their menu, That risks a big, big fail. Making woke an investing risk factor seems so obvious, he said that I hesitated to write the column. Recall Bud Light or Target. Wokeness is generally defined as subjecting the culture and business to left-wing dogma. And Charlie says… Companies keep going there. Corporate managers, it turns out, are a politically and socially tone-deaf bunch. They’re lousy at reading the mood of the country. That’s why shareholders must demand, he said, whether it’s at annual meetings or earnings calls or with testy phone calls to investor relations, that the C-suite extricate wokeness from corporate decision-making. The big victory over the Cracker Barrel fiasco is that wokeness is dying. Companies going woke, they realize… They realize it’s a big mistake. And look, we ought to support Cracker Barrel right now. Because part of the story here ought to be Cracker Barrel bouncing back. Apparently the last few days nobody was even going to the restaurants. I saw all this stuff online about waiters and waitresses saying nobody’s in the restaurant. Nobody’s coming. The value of the company had plummeted. They fell on their face. But you know what they did? They said, thank you, President Trump. You were right, and we were wrong. They said, thank you, American people. We shouldn’t be woke. And Charlie Gasparino, great column in the New York Post. We’ll post it for you at MikeOnline.com, so check it out. He said, he writes… The bottom line is, he says, as outlined in my book, Go Woke, Go Broke, the inside story of the radicalization of corporate America, waiting is often not an option. That’s what Bud Light tried to do. They waited it out, and they paid a heavy price. Cracker Barrel didn’t do it. Cracker Barrel said, nope, we’re pumping the brakes on this, and we’re not going to make that mistake. Charlie Gasparino says, my advice to Wall Street stock analysts and investors is to keep a Post-it note on your computer with this simple message. Go woke, go broke. Keep reminding yourself of that, he said, and start reminding corporate managers. Listen to this chief marketing officer. They all sound the same, these white liberal females saying, Sometimes males, but usually females. This is the chief marketing officer for Cracker Barrel, Sarah Moore, explaining their decision to rebrand. This is now before the decision to un-rebrand, okay? But this is what she sounded like before the you-know-what hit the fan.
SPEAKER 05 :
We have been very transparent about our transformation platform. And one of our strategies is really centered on that physical guest experience. And we’ve spent the last year testing and concepting various levels of remodels. All of these various levels have been rooted in our brand DNA. They’ve been rooted in guest feedback. And it’s all about evolution with intentionality. We’ve been very transparent about our goal of making our stores feel brighter and even more welcoming than they already are while maintaining that country hospitality and charm that we’re known for. So when it comes to the overall experience, what you you can rely on is. Items like our rocking chairs, our biscuits, our peg games, antiquities on the wall. None of that is going away. We’re just looking at ways to freshen up the experience so that we can open our door a bit wider for more guests. And when we think about what we’re trying to do, it really is, again, about listening to what the guests ask for. And examples of what the guests ask for are things like spaces that feel brighter. that feel less cluttered, more booth seating, more seating options, so our guests are more comfortable while they’re dining.
SPEAKER 03 :
And incidentally, Cracker Barrel needs to start with her. She ought to be the chief marketing officer for some far-left organization rather than Cracker Barrel. It’s Cracker Barrel. They don’t need to focus group and do diagrams and flow charts about why people like the clutter. It’s always the white liberal women. Every single time. So anyway, good for them. And again, it’s so fascinating, the people that never let it go. Look at Mike in Louisville. You want to reward Cracker Barrel for wanting to do the wrong thing in the first place? Coming back was from pressure, not from reflection. See, this is what too many of us do on our side. You have no grace, Mike. You’ve got no ability to say, okay, good for you, Cracker Barrel. You made a mistake. You blew it. You fixed it. You listened to President Trump. You listened to the American people. And you turned it around. That’s a good thing, Mike. Don’t continue to… browbeat a company that already paid a heavy price, and then they did the right thing. We ought to appreciate a company doing the right thing. And again, take the win. on what this means for wokeness, because other companies are paying close attention. A whole lot of businesses are watching how this thing all unfurled. I love it. I love every aspect of it. I’m going to Cracker Barrel. I’m going to go for dinner tonight. There’s a Cracker Barrel not far from where I live. I’m going to go buy a bunch of Cracker Barrel gift cards and give them out for Christmas presents this year. Let’s support a company that says we made a mistake. And we fixed it. Good for them. Way to go, Cracker Barrel. 800-655-MIKE. Let’s see if you agree with me or not. 17 past the hour. Welcome aboard. Final Wednesday of August. Wow, this year is flying by, isn’t it? 800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453. I hope you join us.
SPEAKER 02 :
Breaking now on the Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 03 :
There is some frightening news coming out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Some breaking news. Reports of a school shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis. And this is very, very… This is the early stages of this reporting. The FBI is aware of reports coming out of Minneapolis. The mayor there, Fry, has called this an act of horrific violence. But it is being described in a preliminary way as a school shooting at a Catholic school. I believe it’s the Annunciation Church. Catholic school, which is about a half a block from the Annunciation Church in Minneapolis off of Lindale and West 54th Street in Minneapolis. According to the FBI’s Dan Bongino, agents are en route to the scene. But again, we have reports of a of a. school shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. And as is the case with all of these school shootings, I always go to, my mind always goes to, well, what security precautions are in place at that school? Our people, this is a blue city. I’m sorry to bring politics into this. But you often see children exposed and vulnerable when they don’t have anybody, any kind of armed security to help them. I continually hear in my head at every school shooting in America, the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. The left hates that expression. I believe it was coined many years ago by Wayne LaPierre of the National Rifle Association. But it is unequivocally true. It is absolutely 100% true. The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. And I wonder if there were any good guys with guns at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. It’s Minneapolis, Minnesota, so not likely. And I think of all of the vulnerable children in cities that have huge draconian anti-gun policies. And I get so frustrated because instead of the recognition that we ought to have more armed people in our society than less, the left will inevitably… say that there should be less access to guns. They’ll take this shooting and they’ll say there should be less guns, not more. And every single time, over and over and over again, we have these shootings and people say, look, they had somebody armed. Those kids would have had a fighting chance. So still too early to tell how many injuries or possible fatalities. The mayor of Minneapolis described it as a horrific scene of violence. But again, some terrible news out of Minneapolis. And we’re going to check in here in a moment or two with Roger P. Shulman in the newsroom because the information is very sketchy. It’s very preliminary. For some reason, we’re not getting a flood of information yet from Minneapolis other than the announcement that there has been a shooting at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. And look, I don’t mind talking about this. Do you think I’m all wet on this? You know, I’ve got my lovable liberal cousin Paul. He and I got into a nice debate once about that phrase, the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. What are you going to do with a bad guy with a gun? Tickle him? Talk them out of it? try to persuade them to stop shooting. It’s the only way. And I absolutely wish I could understand exactly what steps could be taken. But there is no other answer. Evil is going to show up. Evil is going to invade Every corner of our lives, good needs to triumph over evil. And you know, in this case, what the good is? A good guy with a gun taking out a bad guy with a gun. And it happens over and over again. The governor of Minnesota, Waltz, posted on X, quote, I’ve been briefed on a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School. I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence. The mayor, Fry, wrote, I’m monitoring reports of horrific violence in South Minneapolis. ATF agents are responding to reports of an active shooter situation, and again, apparently a mass shooting at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis. We’re going to get as many details as we can for you, and we’ll get your reaction to all of it. And again, we’ve had this conversation too many times. There are obviously too many of these shootings. There should be none. But when somebody evil, when evil shows up, is there any other answer than a good guy with a gun stopping that evil? I’m all ears. Join me. 800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453.
SPEAKER 02 :
Mike Gallagher. Every day, Mike visits with Mark Davis, morning host on 660 AM, The Answer in Dallas. Here’s today’s Eminem experience.
SPEAKER 04 :
It’s not like Travis Kelsey is wearing MAGA hats, but he said it was an honor to go to the White House and et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. He is not, you know, bagged on Trump and, you know, like a whole lot of the other athletes have. She was a, she’s a big lib. I mean, not a big vocal all the time lib like Bruce Springsteen, but she, you know, endured. Doris Kamala, blah, blah, blah.
SPEAKER 03 :
But she’s not in your face about it. Correct.
SPEAKER 04 :
Because she’s smart. Because she is smart.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, she’s smart. Like Cracker Barrel got smart. Yes, they did.
SPEAKER 04 :
Isn’t that just the best? I can’t suppress my smile.
SPEAKER 03 :
Oh, I can’t either.
SPEAKER 04 :
And I’m surprised. I mentioned that Lisa and I were sitting there, and she said, I almost thank you for letting me finish the story I didn’t finish a minute ago. She turned to me and goes, look at her phone, and said, Cracker Barrel changed the logo back. I said, oh, honey. And she loves when I do this. Oh, honey, that might be fake news. Check it out. And sometimes she’ll check it out and it is fake news because it’s just somebody trolling. But this one was absolutely real. I just couldn’t believe they did it so fast.
SPEAKER 03 :
They called the White House. Cracker Barrel called the White House and said thank you. You know, the guy left out of this story is Trump. The mainstream media is covering this like, well, it was a revolt from the customers. Yes. It was Trump who said, take the logo and go back to the old logo. A few hours later, that’s what they did. They followed Trump’s advice. I mean, he’s sitting there going. I mean, this guy is sitting in the White House. He has this three and a half hour cabinet meeting yesterday. And they’re all just lining up and they’re just saying, thank you, Mr. President.
SPEAKER 01 :
Thank you.
SPEAKER 03 :
You’re the best. You’re awesome. You’re so handsome and strong. I mean. I love it. And his poll numbers are going up. He’s got the Democrats actually against lowering crime. I mean, that’s quite a feat. I mean, he baits them. His superpower, like I like to say, is making the other side do stupid things.
SPEAKER 04 :
Paints them into a corner to be pro-crime, pro-illegal immigration, pro-violence against law enforcement. We had a bomb threat against the Dallas ICE office yesterday. And why? Why? Democrat rhetoric.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, the rhetoric is at an all-time high, but they got nothing else. I saw Byron York wrote a piece that we carried over at Town Hall. Bagging on Trump is all they’re left with. They’ve got nothing. They’re coming up with stunts. They’re going to try to have a mini-Democrat convention now in anticipation of the real… Yeah, they’re trying to gin up some kind of artificial support for who? Gavin Newsom, Mr. Troll, Pritzker, Biden? Pete Buttigieg, they’re broken right now. They got nothing. And they better come up with, you know, somebody said this yesterday, they better come up with a better narrative than the one they’ve got quick where we’re against lowering crime rates. Did you see AP just had a new poll out? Trump popped up five points in the polls. I believe he’s like a 53% approval rating in AP. I believe that means it’s 20%. Easy. But people, who’s against lowering crime rates? Who’s against? Have you seen the carjacking rate in D.C.? It’s down 86%. Oh, that’s terrible, Mark.
SPEAKER 04 :
And we had another day without a murder, right? Were we at 12 days without a murder?
SPEAKER 03 :
We had 13 days, 12, 13 days without one single murder.
SPEAKER 04 :
And the average usually is about a murder every other day. Indeed. So this is a bad thing? Yes, it is, Mike. Please, let me help you understand that, too, Mike. It’s a terrible thing because it’s an occupation, because he’s a dictator, because it’s not about making people safer. It is about being authoritarian on the way toward a dictatorship. What he wants is a federalized police force in Washington for the next election he’s going to steal. Don’t you listen to MSNBC?
SPEAKER 03 :
What? Do you know what the left does believe? And I want to ask you this. Let me just put you on the spot. When you are in the presence of law enforcement, do you feel safer or less safe? I know that sounds like a stupid question. No, no, no.
SPEAKER 04 :
Instantly safer because you were talking about American cities yesterday. I’ll give you an example, and you’ll know it well, of being in an environment surrounded not just by – surrounded by law enforcement and military with huge long guns like maybe in the middle of a mall, and that would be Jerusalem. An admittedly really dangerous place. And I felt, well, I mean, it depends on what’s going on in the news. You’ve been there a bunch of times. I’ve been there once. And just knowing that there’s always a danger to being in Israel because it’s surrounded by countries that want to kill everybody, that those folks, the IDF people and having somebody with a massive rifle in line with me at McDonald’s at a mall. It was good guys with guns, good guys with guns.
SPEAKER 03 :
New York City post 9-11, and it’s still to this day, Penn Station, major, major commuter hubs in New York City, police with long guns walking around. They’ve got their long guns out. But see, here’s what’s important to know. To the left, that makes them uncomfortable. They don’t like that. They really don’t. And that’s an authentic feeling on their part. Of course. Because it’s a one-two punch. It’s police, which are bad, and guns, which are bad. That’s right. They don’t like any of it. They’d rather… It’s like the lady in Chicago who got her arm broken and got bruised and battered in a carjacking, and she said, I still don’t want the troops around here. And I got beat. I mean, that’s a mental illness, Mark. And I also believe… When somebody says… I feel less safe when there’s police around or when there’s men and women with weapons. You’re looking at a lefty who hates, like you said, they hate the cops, they hate the military, and they certainly hate guns.
SPEAKER 04 :
He’s born of two things. If seeing the police makes you recoil, either you’ve had a long history of having bad things happen with the police, which means you’ve probably done some bad things… Or you’re just swimming around in the rhetoric, in the leftist rhetoric that says that cops are bad, cops are racist, cops are evil, defund the police, that old tune.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, get ready. You want to talk about a cultural talk topic. Vanity Fair’s new boss reportedly wants to put First Lady Melania Trump on the cover. And there’s already a revolt going on. Unbelievable.
SPEAKER 04 :
You know, people paid attention to this during the era. I mean, how many magazines was Michelle Obama on? And that’s fine. Any first lady belongs on any fashion magazine. That’s fine. But the complete absence of Melania during Trump 1.0, one of the most beautiful, glamorous first ladies we’ve ever had. And none of these magazines reached out to her. The fact that they now might be starting to, I can feel the earth spinning out of its orbit.
SPEAKER 03 :
One editor told the Daily Mail, I will walk out the MFing door and half my staff will follow me. The editor said, we are not going to normalize this despot and his wife. We’re just not going to do it. We’re going to stand for what’s right. If I have to work bagging groceries at Trader Joe’s, I’ll do it. This is the editor at Vanity Fair telling the Daily Mail, if they put Melania on the cover… Half of the editorial staff will walk out, I guarantee it. Do it. Don’t let the door hit you.
SPEAKER 04 :
And the list grows. The list grows. Democratic Party now, anti-beauty. You know what? Which is kind of a thing. That’s part of the attack on Sidney Sweeney. They’re anti-beauty. And Sidney Sweeney is, I don’t care about whiteness, Sidney Sweeney is lovely. She’s not 400 pounds. She knows she is a woman, which is just a huge problem because all we have to have is intersectional trans people of color who weigh about 400 and don’t want to be fat shamed.
SPEAKER 03 :
I like it because it gives me a chance to be on the cover of GQ.
SPEAKER 04 :
My role as a supermodel might just happen after that. Update from the audience. Update from the audience. And it’s not like I went asking about this, but your story about the iPhone alarm that did not go off, which got you off the cruise ship late. 100% belief operator error. 100% that the phones don’t not ring when there was some button you had done, something you had muted.
SPEAKER 03 :
Might have been, but I’m telling you, I do it every day in my life. But now I got 19 alarms in the background. This is never going to happen to me again. It will never happen again. 6.30 a.m. in the Gallagher household. It sounds like NASA is launching a space shuttle.
SPEAKER 02 :
