We could also add, I care more about three police officers shot and killed in the line of duty in Pennsylvania yesterday than I do a multi-millionaire brat who got canceled by ABC. I care more about why Republicans can’t be unified in our grief and our anger and can’t even censure The despicable Elon Omar. Those are the things I care about today. Now, don’t worry, we’re going to cover it all. And there is a lot to stay up with. I know the Jimmy Kimmel story is a big deal. They’re lying about it intentionally. No, Donald Trump didn’t pressure ABC to fire Jimmy Kimmel. No, it wasn’t even the FCC commissioner. It’s a little thing called affiliates. If your affiliates bail on you, you’re done. I’ve got hundreds of radio stations that carry the Mike Gallagher show around the country. If about 100 of them said that what I said on air was so reprehensible that they’re not going to carry me anymore, my employer would probably say adios. Well, that’s what happened with Jimmy Kimmel. Nextar, which owns a bunch of ABC affiliates… I mean, it’s a little complicated. I want to be careful on the phrasing of how I word it because I know how the business works. They don’t own the ABC product. They own the affiliates that carry the ABC programming. Nexstar said, no, no, if classless Jimmy Kimmel won’t retract or apologize for lying about Charlie Kirk’s assassins, If he’s mocking President Trump in his grief, it’s a bridge too far for us. We’re not going to carry his program on our next star stations. Sinclair was coming up next. Kimmel was going to lose all the next star and Sinclair affiliates. ABC said, well, that’s not sustainable. You’re canceled. We’re putting you on ice. See you later, Jimmy Kimmel. That’s what happened. And people like Chuck Schumer and Brian Stelter over at CNN are more upset about Jimmy Kimmel losing his show than they are Charlie Kirk losing his life. This is how nuts they are. They are nuts. I want to spend a little bit of time on four Republicans. Corey Mills here in Florida, Jeff Hurd in Colorado, Tom McClintock in California, and Mike Flood in Nebraska. Those four Republicans in the House sided with Democrats in protecting Ilhan Omar from being censured. Somebody, anybody has to call this show and tell me just what in the hell is wrong with with those four Republicans. You tell me why they’d pick this hill to die on, politically. Explain to me how these four feckless Republicans would say that we’re going to stand with AOC and Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib and Jasmine Crockett. We’ll protect you, Ilhan. Yes, you said reprehensible things about Charlie Kirk after he was killed. Yes, you’re awful. Yes, you’re horrific. but oh, we’re not going to slap your wrist with a censure. No, no, no, no, we can’t do that. Free speech, don’t you know? Free speech. Do you know what a censure is? She wasn’t going to lose her position. She wasn’t going to be fined. Nobody was going to put her in jail. The House of Representatives was going to condemn officially what she said about Charlie bringing on his own death. And Corey Mills from Florida, Jeff Hurd from Colorado, Tom McClintock from California, and Mike Flood from Nebraska gave the Democrats the votes they needed to give her a pass. I don’t know why you’re surprised, California, that I would be critical of even somebody I admire like Pam Bondi for saying we’re going to target people for hate speech. That’s the government putting people in jail for their thoughts and their words. And obviously any conservative would object to that. In this case… For Tom McClintock to think that Congress doesn’t have a duty to censure somebody in their body who utters reprehensible remarks. What in the world do you think is a free speech debate about that? Doesn’t Congress have the right to censure anybody they want and take a vote? If somebody says something despicable, nobody’s firing her. Nobody’s locking her up. A censure is a formal expression by the body of condemnation. And obviously, Texter, you’re with your guy there, McClintock. I can tell the way you worded the text. Well, censure is not being overused. If you don’t censure a member of the U.S. Congress for mocking a slain conservative influencer, likely the most popular, prominent conservative influencer in America. I know that there was a big media explosion last night after it was announced that Jimmy Kimmel was essentially canceled from ABC. I don’t know about you, but I care more about Charlie Kirk being killed than I do a multimillionaire comic losing his show on a television network, knowing that the multimillionaire comic is going to wind up with another gig somewhere, but Charlie Kirk was taken from us. I care more about the three police officers in Pennsylvania who were murdered yesterday. Forgive me if I’m not particularly distraught about Jimmy Kimmel. Will Kane over at Fox News posted something on his ex-account that sums up pretty perfectly how normal people are reacting. Now, there’s not a normal reaction on the left. People from Chuck Schumer to pundits, social media folks. I mean, there was a big, big… eruption of rage and frustration and anger. I mean, here’s a little montage from TikTok.

They’re big mad. Big mad. They’re not handling it well. Chuck Schumer was raging on CNN last night. And it’s hard not to observe that Senator Schumer seemed way more upset about an ABC TV comedian losing his TV show than a 31-year-old husband and father being assassinated in broad daylight on a college campus in Utah. It’s pretty astounding. So Will Cain… wrote a pretty good analysis on his ex-account. I want to share it with you. He said, such ignorant hyperventilating about Jimmy Kimmel. This has nothing to do with the free press or free speech or First Amendment. Kimmel didn’t joke about Charlie Kirk. He spread a verifiable lie about half of America. And in response to that lie, that he refused to retract, incidentally, never apologized for it. According to media insiders, he’s not going to apologize ever for lying and claiming that the killer was MAGA. That was the lie that he could have easily retracted or he could have corrected or apologized for. He wouldn’t do it. And as a result, huge numbers of consumers were appalled. Will writes. Two large station owners, Nexstar and Sinclair, said no more. Not in our markets. His ratings already were in the toilet. I’m sure, like Stephen Colbert, he loses a lot of money for ABC. The FCC, which licenses and regulates the public airwaves, rightly looks into whether this serves the public interest. ABC… along with The View, a supposedly comedy program in which Kimmel, that not only ignores but denigrates half of America, platforms only the left, and the disgrace of its news division, fails the public interest. I don’t know, says Will Kane, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some semi-sane executive at Disney said enough of this bull crap. Enough! Enough! Will concludes by saying Jimmy Kimmel is free to speak his mind. We all know that. However, he has no right or guarantee to do so on ABC TV. This isn’t about comedy or free speech. It’s about consequences. Speech is free. Speech is not without consequences. Right now, how would you like to be the left looking around the Trump haters who watched the King of England whine and dine President Trump yesterday? Who see comics like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel canceled after their denigrating half of America night after night, hour after hour? Thousands and thousands of people will be flocking to State Farm Stadium this weekend to pay respects to Charlie and his family. We’ll be there as well. President Trump is speaking, Vice President Vance, many, many dignitaries. It’s going to be a real epic send-off. to this 31-year-old who was shot dead on a college campus in Utah. Over at Axios, Jim VandeHei has some advice for liberals. And I want to read some of this to you because it is true. This is where the left must be right now. They must feel completely lost at sea. They don’t know what happened. Many Democrats in America, he writes, for the first time, feel not merely powerless, but like targeted strangers in an occupied land. Axios says, many write to us wondering, what can we do beyond protesting government? If there were simple answers, Jim VandeHei writes, they wouldn’t keep asking the same question. A year ago, millions of MAGA voters would have voiced many of the same concerns the Democrats have today. So this feeling is only spreading. And then it goes on to this whole question and answer that apparently Ross Douthat at the New York Times wrote. Um… One of the things that Axios advises people to do is to take 15 minutes to listen to the New York Times columnist Ezra Klein. Because he has been a rare voice of sanity on the loony left. Ezra Klein maintained that Charlie Kirk knew how to do politics and do it well. He wanted debate. He brought his message to college kids. and high school kids. And there is nothing that can bring him back. But what can sustain him is for an energy that has been unleashed. And you know it, and I know it. We all feel it. There is an energy. There is something happening that we’ve never really experienced before. A reaction that says, look, we don’t care anymore. You can try to cancel. Cancel, it means nothing. When you’re killing us. When you’re shooting dead people that you don’t agree with. Canceling somebody from their job at ABC. Again, a wealthy guy who’s going to land on his feet somewhere else. Charlie Kirk was killed for his beliefs. And it’s pretty shocking to see Democrats express more concern about an ABC comic being canceled than Charlie Kirk being assassinated. And Tom wants to take me to task because he wants our side to be more unifying right now. He wants to talk about how to unify. And that is an important thing to try to tackle. So, Tom, hang in there. I first want to read to you. as the left melts down over Jimmy Kimmel being canceled by ABC, which, again, had nothing to do with Trump or the FCC, had to do with a bunch of affiliates, TV stations owned by Nexstar and Sinclair saying, no, he’s gone. We’re not airing him on our stations. And ABC just took a look at that. They read the tea leaves. They could read the room and say, well, sorry, Jimmy, you got to go. Your affiliates are bailing. in droves, just between Nexstar and Sinclair. There’s dozens and dozens of television stations under the ABC mantle. ABC only has about 200 stations around the country. So it was a business decision after he refused to correct or apologize for his lie. And it was a lie. He wasn’t opining. You don’t like Charlie Kirk? All right, stand up there on your unfunny ABC show and say you don’t like Charlie Kirk. Say you’re glad he’s dead, like many have done, which is pretty shocking, but if that’s how you feel, okay, say that. You can’t pretend that the killer was a Trump-supporting conservative. You can’t pretend that MAGA… was represented by what he did. You have to correct that. When he refused, stations said enough is enough. But before we go to Tom on the subject of unity, let’s take a look at all the people that have been canceled because of the left. Now they’re upset about Jimmy Kimmel. Finally, finally somebody on the left sees what it feels like. Roseanne Barr. She was fired by the same company, ABC and Disney, after her hit show completely canceled. It was one of the highest, most popular shows on ABC because of an offensive tweet. One tweet. Hundreds of cast and crew lost their jobs. Gina Carano, she was fired from The Mandalorian in 2021. for social media posts that didn’t fit the left’s politics. Her agency dropped her too, Megyn Kelly, fired by NBC. Her morning show canceled. After comments about Halloween costumes. Dave Chappelle. Netflix employees staged a walkout, demanded his comedy special be pulled. Joe Rogan. The left pressured Spotify to drop him. Running coordinated campaigns and advertiser boycotts over COVID discussions. Tucker Carlson fired from Fox News. Liberal activists bragged about their pressure on advertisers. And maybe that worked, I don’t know. Parler. The platform parlor, Apple, Google, Amazon, all colluded to wipe that entire platform off the Internet altogether. Tens of thousands of small creators and businesses lost their income overnight. J.K. Rowling, the Harry Potter author, blacklisted, attacked, pressured out of projects. Mike Lindell, our friend. And our customer, our partner, Mike Lindell, MyPillow pulled from major retailers, banned from all the home shopping networks, targeted with advertiser boycotts. Alex Jones was simultaneously banned in 2018 by YouTube, Facebook, Apple, Spotify. The patterns are clear. Public celebrations of people losing jobs, losing their business, two sets of rules, The left can lie all they want. The Russia hoax, the Covington kid smear, Jussie Smollett, and on and on. They can laugh about it, but the right gets destroyed. Accountability only ever goes one way. The left has spent years perfecting the art of cancel culture, destroying people’s jobs, nuking shows, wiping platforms off the Internet, and laughing while people’s lives were destroyed. But sure, Jimmy Kimmel lying about a political assassin? Oh, that’s totally fine. Can’t do that. Can’t do that to Jimmy. Well, there is a new energy that has been released in America. The game is changing. The game is changing. The rules are changing. I’m so anguished that Charlie Kirk died for this energy to be unleashed. I’m so horrified that I’m going to get on a plane later and go to Phoenix and honor Charlie’s widow and children and his parents and his sister. Thankfully, I’m going to be with a lot of colleagues. including our CEO and president, my boss, the vice president of the spoken word here at Salem, Kathleen Benzie, others who are going to be with us. I’m horrified that it came to, it was the killing of our friend and our colleague that led to this massive energy that’s leading to this game-changing moment. But the game-changing moment is here. Now, Tom, I really appreciate, I very much appreciate your patience, Tom, because I saw your topic on the screen, and I wanted to make sure you had some time to join us. So thank you very much for hanging in there with us, and I wanted to read that list of people who have been canceled. Dive in. Tell us what’s on your mind, Tom.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, let me state first that I would probably be considered a centrist left. And by that meaning, I’m kind of in the middle, go both sides, left and right a little bit, but more of a centrist. And because of that, I try to be a well-informed person as much as one can be. So I’ll listen to conservative radio, like pieces of your show, Scott Thompson. I listen to Dennis Prager. But I also try to listen to CNN and MSNBC and ABC, CBS News, all of the shows trying to get the piece here. And what bothers me the most, I guess, is that all sides seem to want to destroy the country more than united. And I was born in upstate New York. And I remember years ago, my social studies teacher, we were talking about the Iroquois Nation, if you’re familiar with that. These were these tribes up in western New York that joined together. And so he gave each of us a pencil. He said, break the pencil. And we did. Then he took six pencils and wound them together with a rubber band, and he said, now break them, and we couldn’t. And we learned a valuable lesson that united, we certainly become a better place.
SPEAKER 11 :
And, of course, we all would love the concept of unification. I’ve got to go back to what you said, though, if you don’t mind. I want to challenge something you said. All sides want to destroy America. Give me examples of conservatives, of MAGA, of Republicans wanting to destroy America.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, what you just said prior to bringing me on, you had a diatribe of all the things that you said the left were doing to destroy speech. Right. And this is what happens. And maybe it’s just a commercial thing. And I appreciate that with you. You’re on a commercial radio. You need to make money. You need to keep your audience.
SPEAKER 11 :
No, no, no. Come on. You’re doing such a good job. And I really want to have a good intellectual… Wait a minute. You didn’t even answer what I asked you. Give me an example. Instead of insulting me by saying that you think I’m presenting my heart on this show, wearing my heart on my sleeve, sharing with you my heartfelt beliefs and opinions, which you have every right to disagree with, but instead of trying to condescendingly say, well, I don’t understand the business at all. Let’s stick to the dialogue that you and I want to engage in. You said all sides are committed to destroying this country. Give me an example. That’s what you said. You said that. What do you mean by our… What side… What example do you have of conservatives wanting to destroy America, Tom? Hey, example, this is… Again, don’t…
SPEAKER 15 :

SPEAKER 11 :
I’m not trying to put you on the spot. Just give me an answer. Give me an example of the destructiveness of conservatism. What do you mean by that?
SPEAKER 15 :

You’re not going to quote Dennis Prager when he’s not here to defend himself. Tell me what conservatives are doing to destroy America, because I can give you lots of examples of liberals and leftists and Democrats destroying America if you’d like to hear them, but I’m just asking for you to give me examples of conservatives wanting to destroy America.
SPEAKER 15 :
Anytime they mention that they are the evil people, the wrong people, they are trying to destroy us. Like you said just before my talk here, to me, that’s etching about and that’s, you know, digging in the unification of the country.
SPEAKER 11 :
Charlie Kirk was killed. Why was Charlie Kirk killed, Tom? Do you know why Charlie Kirk was killed? You’ve covered the story. Why do you think he was killed? Okay.
SPEAKER 15 :
Well, I don’t know in the mind of the killer, but probably there was a grievance that this killer had and a disagreement, and he decided to take it out with a gun.
SPEAKER 11 :
And was the grievance and the disagreement with Charlie’s words, with what he believed, with his ideology, was that why the killer killed Charlie Kirk in your view?
SPEAKER 15 :
Because of what Charlie probably just just as if those two Democratic congressmen up in Minnesota.
SPEAKER 11 :
Do you know why? Do you know why? Do you want to know why? Do you want to know why they were killed in Minnesota? Do you know why they were killed? Tell me what you think. Do you know what the grievance was? Do you want to know what the grievance was of the killers of those two Democrats in Minnesota? The guy was mad that the Democrat member of the state legislature sided with Republicans on giving health care to illegals. That’s what motivated him. It was a leftist. It was another leftist. And then Luigi Mangione? You think he’s a conservative? Why do you think the UnitedHealthcare CEO was killed? From a guy on the left that the left is now celebrating. Tom, you’re such a nice guy. You’re wrong. You’re wrong. The violence is coming from the left, Tom. And you know it. You have to know it. The man who tried to kill Republican congressmen at the congressional baseball practice. The city’s burned down during the Summer of Love. The Waukesha Christmas Parade massacre. The Covenant school shooting in Nashville. The Butler, Pennsylvania. Tom, these are all people on the left.
SPEAKER 15 :
You know that. Can you name for me now three things that the left is correct about? Correct about? Yeah, that they have the right ideology. They have the correct thought process. Can you name three things that quote the left? And by the way, we haven’t even defined the left. Would I be on the left because I’m not MAGA?
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, you’d have to tell me what’s on the left. I have no idea. I just gave you all of these examples of political violence, and you pivoted. You didn’t even address that. Is there anything that I said about all of these acts of violence that you can disagree with? Every one of the examples that you gave and I gave came from people who have a leftist ideology, right?
SPEAKER 15 :
Yeah, but you see, you have a lot more information because you listen and you read more than I appreciate that. But you’re doing exactly what I’m saying is an issue on both sides.
SPEAKER 10 :
What’s the issue?
SPEAKER 11 :
That I’m reacting to point out violence from the left? What do you want us to do? Stick our head in the sand and act like it isn’t happening?
SPEAKER 15 :
Absolutely not. Well, that’s all I’m doing. Instead of demeaning you. You’re demeaning completely the other side, and you can’t answer three things you say.
SPEAKER 11 :
I’m not demeaning you. I’m demeaning people that celebrate acts of violence. Hey, Tom, last week a YouGov poll found that 25% of people who describe themselves as very liberal say it’s justified for citizens to murder other people to achieve political goals.
SPEAKER 1 :

That okay with you, Tom?
SPEAKER 15 :
Absolutely not. I’m wondering what it would be if we did the survey at another location that was mostly very far right. That’s the whole thing.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s what I’m saying. That’s a great point. That’s terrible. That’s a great point. So I want you to tell me when you’ve ever heard conservatives celebrate the murder of somebody on the left. Just give me one example. When have you ever heard conservatives, MAGA, anybody who calls themselves Republicans or a Trump supporter, when have you ever heard the right celebrate violence against people of the Democrat or liberal or leftist ideology? When has that ever happened, Tom?
SPEAKER 15 :
I’ve only seen it on clips that were cherry picked by the left to show me.
SPEAKER 11 :
Give me an example. One person, one prominent person has ever celebrated somebody on the left. We’ve heard Keith Olbermann yesterday said Charlie Kirk is rotting in hell. Rotting in hell. Ilhan Omar said that Charlie Kirk essentially brought it on himself. You’ve seen it. You’re looking around. You see people celebrating Charlie’s murder, Tom. When has anybody on the right ever done that about somebody on your side of the political spectrum?
SPEAKER 15 :
Wait, wait, just what you just said there, on my side. Your side?
SPEAKER 11 :
I just said I was a centrist. You and I obviously have a disagreement here, Tom, and I’m asking you, you’re defending, you’re calling me out because you say I’m not unifying. I’m asking you when somebody on your side, left of center… Democrat anybody anybody who’s ever been victimized in violence when have you ever heard conservatives lift that up or celebrate that in any way shape or form you want to know why you can’t answer because it hasn’t ever happened Tom it’s never happened we don’t celebrate violence we don’t celebrate violence
SPEAKER 15 :
But certainly people… And we won’t even go to January 6th, because that’s a whole other topic.
SPEAKER 11 :
Go to January 6th. Go to January 6th. I’ve condemned those people over and over and over again. When have you ever heard me say that they were right or they were justified? The 900 or 1,000 people that committed violence were reprehensible. I’ve said that over and over again. And guess what? A whole bunch of people on my side of the political spectrum have as well.
SPEAKER 15 :
On any of your shows, did you condemn Trump’s pardoning of all those people who were so violent?
SPEAKER 11 :
We talked about it ad nauseum. Tom, you did your best. You tried your best, and at the end of the day, I think we recognize exactly how you’re on shifting sands. You’re on thin ice, and you did your best. I appreciate your patience. At the end of the day, it’s very hard to unify with somebody who glorifies the murder of our friend and colleague, Charlie Kirk.
