SPEAKER 09 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 20 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 23 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 20 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did. Get a job first. You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 15 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 05 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 24 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by Cub Creek Heating and Air Conditioning.
SPEAKER 08 :
All right, we are back. I’m number two. Myself, of course, Charlie Grimes, our engineer, Andy Pate, Tanner Coleman with us. You guys are going to do NFL picks. Before you get going, though, so here’s what AI said about last night’s game. And that’s the only one I’m going to talk about because I’ll let you guys do the rest of the game. So this was Thursday Night Football. Seahawks at Cardinals. Seahawks defense has the edge, but if Arizona protects the football, the Cards could spring a Thursday night surprise, which they did not. They lost by three points.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yep. Seattle got it at the very end. Oh, but it’s close enough. A field goal at the end.
SPEAKER 08 :
Very, very close game.
SPEAKER 07 :
If you turned it on in the fourth quarter, it was a great game.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, it was. It was boring before that.
SPEAKER 04 :
But it was good then. That’s why it’s so hard to pick so many of these games. I know. I mean, one fumble, one whatever.
SPEAKER 08 :
You guys are on, so take it away, guys.
SPEAKER 04 :
Hit it, Charlie. All right, Tanner, let’s start out with the Minnesota Vikings. They are on the road at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Minnesota favored by two and a half. Now, Minnesota is just a much more talented team. However, Pittsburgh has Aaron Rodgers. Can Aaron Rodgers will his team to an upset?
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, this is like that Chargers-Chiefs game. The Vikings are away, but it’s in Dublin at 730 in the morning. I think the Steelers win purely because Carson Wentz is playing.
SPEAKER 04 :
I agree. You think the Steelers are going to beat the Vikings just because of wins?
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, I mean, the Steelers defense hasn’t lived up to expectations. I think this is the week they might do it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, well, we’ll see. I’m going to take the Vikings just because, and it’s nothing against Aaron Rodgers. I just don’t believe in his team. I don’t think they have enough talent. Next game, the Washington Commanders are on the road at the Falcons. Falcons favored by one and a half at home. Terry McLaurin is out for the Commanders. Is Daniels going to play?
SPEAKER 07 :
He’s out as well.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, he’s out as well. Will the Falcons just pound the rock?
SPEAKER 07 :
I mean, them losing 30-0 against the Panthers makes it hard for me to take the Falcons at all, so I’m still going to take the commies.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, I am going to go with the Falcons. Yes, I am. Because, I’m sorry, without both Jaden and Terry McLaurin, that’s pretty tough. Okay, next game is an easy one. The New Orleans Saints. They’re on the road at the Buffalo Bills. Bills favored by 15 and a half. Okay, here we go, Tanner. Tanner, can the NFL officially award New Orleans the top pick in the 2026 draft yet? I mean, is it too soon?
SPEAKER 07 :
Um, I think they’re right there. And yeah, I mean, there’s not a lot of teams that look as bad. Granted, they have been in some close games or just, you know, coming back from behind. So I don’t know about that 15 and a half point spread, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they doubled that.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, I mean, this could just be an absolute blowout. Okay, next game. The Cleveland Browns are on the road at the Lions. The Lions are favored by 10.5. Detroit’s offense is unstoppable again after failing in Week 1. Can the tough Browns defense slow them down?
SPEAKER 07 :
Everyone thought the Packers would run away with that game. They ended up losing. I still think the Lions will win, maybe not by 10.5, but it will be a good game for their Lions fans.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m going to take the Lions, too. I think they’ll bounce back. I think they’re going to take it to the Browns. Next game, the Panthers, who won big last week. They are on the road at the Patriots. Patriots are favored by 5.5 at home. Now, the Panthers have talent, and it exploded last week. Can they surprise the Patriots?
SPEAKER 07 :
Other than their first game, they almost came back on the Cardinals and then destroyed the Falcons. I just think the Patriots’ Drake May looks pretty good. I think they’re going to win. I don’t know about 5.5, though.
SPEAKER 04 :
I agree. I’m taking the Patriots next game. Your L.A. Chargers. They are favored by 6.5. They’re on the road at the New York Giants. Here are my questions. First of all, is 6.5 enough? Right. Shouldn’t Herbert have another big day? Is Hampton, Omarion Hampton, getting comfortable with the Chargers?
SPEAKER 07 :
Najee Harris is out for the year, so he has to be comfortable now. He scored last week, caught a few big passes. Jackson Dart’s first game, I don’t think it’s going to go well. I think the Chargers will win by at least 6.5.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, I agree. Although, I do think Dart is the right decision. Yeah. And by the way, what did I say to John from Cheyenne? If you’re listening right now, what did I say at the beginning of the year? I guessed week four would be the first game for Jackson Dart. We are now in week four. He is starting.
SPEAKER 07 :
What about Jameis?
SPEAKER 04 :
Nah. Okay, next game. Philadelphia Eagles favored by 3.5 on the road at the Buccaneers. This could be the game of the week. They’re both 3-0, but have the Buccaneers played anyone?
SPEAKER 07 :
Mike Evans is most likely not going to play. We’ll see. I think the Bucs are injured. The Eagles are still the Eagles. We saw what they did last week after they looked terrible. They just blew up out of nowhere on the Rams. I think the Eagles win. 3.5, I don’t know.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, I agree. I’ll take the Eagles. Next game, Tennessee Titans at the Houston Texans. Texans favored by 7.5. Both teams are 0-3. But if the Texans somehow lose this game with all that talent, is their coach on the hot seat?
SPEAKER 07 :
I don’t know what happened to them. They can’t seem to score. Granted that no tank Dell and they got two rookie receivers out there, Nico Collins, Nick Chubb, and Steve Joe mixing at running back. I think the Texans will win, but I don’t think they’re going to cover because for what the Titans are, Cam Ward doesn’t look awful.
SPEAKER 04 :
I agree. I agree. Okay, next game. The Colts are at the Rams. Rams are favored by 3.5. Now, the Colts have started out 3-0, and the Rams are 2-1. But the Rams almost beat Philly. Can the Colts’ offensive line hold up against that lightning Rams front? Is Daniel Jones for real? That’s another question. What if he wins this game? What if Daniel Jones wins this game against that Rams defense? Do we have to start taking him seriously?
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, I mean, we’ve seen this with Sam Darnold last year. I think the Rams are going to win, but the Colts look like a formidable team. I have them winning the AFC South.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, I mean, they’re looking really good. Okay, next game. The Jaguars, Jacksonville Jaguars, are on the road at the 49ers. Niners are favored by 3.5. Now, look, the Jags, they have an unimpressive 2-1 record. It’s unimpressive, though. They haven’t played anyone. Well, the Niners are 3-0. Is this the kind of upset that Trevor Lawrence needs to regain his status as a top 10 QB? I mean, does he need to go in and win this game and get an upset like this on the road for people to start taking him seriously again because nobody does?
SPEAKER 07 :
I 100% agree. The 49ers are without Nick Bosa for the year, so I think there’s a good chance for the Jags. But Brian Thomas hasn’t gotten going, nor has, what’s his name, the Colorado kid. Travis Hunter, I forgot because he’s so irrelevant. But I think the 49ers are going to win still just because they’re better coached.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, honestly, I would have Travis play in defense.
SPEAKER 07 :
I agree.
SPEAKER 04 :
That’s just me. But, you know, I love the guy either way, but I’d have him play in defense. We’ll see. Okay, I’ll take the Niners, too. Next game. Ooh, the Ravens. Okay, they’re favored by one and a half going in against the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, here’s the big thing. The loser of this game goes to one and three. Just how bad would that be?
SPEAKER 07 :
I think the Ravens, their defense hasn’t looked great, but their offense is more explosive than the Chiefs. Worthy might be coming back for this game, so I still think the Ravens are a better team. I also need the Chiefs to be 1-3 for my Chargers.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, so you’re going to take the Ravens. You know what? Golly, I don’t like either of these teams. Honestly, I think both these teams have a rotten defense. They’re just not good. I’ll take the Ravens as well. The Bears, they are on the road at the Raiders. Raiders are favored by one and a half. Should they be?
SPEAKER 07 :
I was kind of shocked by that since Geno Smith has looked terrible in their O-line. Genting can’t even find a hole, and when he does, he’s got to juke out three defenders to get five yards.
SPEAKER 04 :
He has nowhere to run. He looks great, but he has nowhere to run.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. I think the Bears just have more weapons, and they’re a little more sound on defense.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yep, I’m taking the Bears, too. Next game, my Packers are favored by six and a half on the road with the Cowboys. Okay, I’m just going to say Green Bay has a bad offensive line. They do. Right. Period. After getting destroyed by Cleveland’s defense last week, what must the Packers do to be taken seriously again? Because right now, they’re nothing. They’re done. And people have written them off. Stephen A. Smith has said they are a complete pretender. What do you think they have to do?
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, I think Micah’s going to have a great game. Cowboys are without CeeDee Lamb. It’s not like they have a pass rush once they let Micah go. I still think the Packers will win. Six and a half, we’ll see. I kind of think it’s either going to be a close game or Packers are going to win by a lot.
SPEAKER 04 :
I kind of think so, too. Next game. Yuck. I’m just going to say right away, yuck. The New York Jets are on the road. The Miami Dolphins. Dolphins, for whatever reason, are favored by two and a half. I guess because someone has to be. Can both these teams somehow come out of this game 0-4? I mean, who will stick with the Saints in the race for the top pick?
SPEAKER 07 :
0-1-3 is what I want from both teams. But, I mean, Tua just did maybe the dumbest thing he’s ever done in front of the media, going back and forth kind of with Cam Newton. And Cam Newton went to a Super Bowl, led a 15-1 team. So I wouldn’t be talking to him. He’s won playoff games. Tua has not. I think the Dolphins will win just because the Jets have Tyrod Taylor as QB. Yeah, that’s pretty ugly. Yeah. Jets have a lot of talent.
SPEAKER 04 :
This is going to be tough. I’m going to go with the Jets. And you’re taking the Dolphins?
SPEAKER 07 :
I’ll take the Dolphins. I don’t want to take either team.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, me either. Take them away. Next game, this one, why even have this game? The Bengals are here in Denver against the Broncos. Broncos were only favored by 7.5. That has to be higher now. After two airtight losses, will the Broncos utterly demolish a bad Cincy team with no Joe Burrow? I don’t know. I smell blowout here.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, I could see it. I don’t know. I mean, if you just give Jamar Chase the ball anywhere, he can make things happen. So I think there’s always a fighter’s chance, but I don’t see any way the Bengals win after last week’s performance.
SPEAKER 04 :
No, and how is Jamar going to get the ball when his quarterback is on his back? okay their quarterback they have no offensive line they have no running game they have no defense whatsoever now they have no quarterback what does that leave this has been cheerleaders i mean how are they going to compete with denver here in denver and that that d line of denver is will be coming i mean they might have eight sacks look i’m picking denver by something north of 20 i am i think that this is i think they win by at least 20.
SPEAKER 07 :
Who knows? Jake Browning had that one season where he almost took, I think did take him to the playoffs.
SPEAKER 04 :
So you never know.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
All right. But we’re both taking the Broncos. John, back to you.
SPEAKER 08 :
All right. And so you think the Broncos are actually going to win one, huh?
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, my.
SPEAKER 08 :
I don’t know. Can we?
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, first of all, right now Cincinnati, without Joe Burrow, is as bad as the Saints.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
They are.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. All right. Paul Lundberg coming up next, my insurance broker. And, yes, we all need insurance. Make sure you’re dialed in when it comes to your insurance. Talk to Paul today, 303-662-0789.

SPEAKER 08 :
All right, Kevin Flesch, if you’re looking for great legal representation, just have questions, by the way. Kevin is there for you. Call him today, 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 18 :
Here’s why you need personal injury attorney Kevin Flesch on your side. He understands the way the jury thinks. In the context of a personal injury case, you’ve been hurt by someone else’s negligence. The idea is that you’re going to try to recover so that you can get back to where you were just prior to that incident occurring. What that really means from a jurist’s perspective is that you’re going to be asking them to award you money. So when we talk about fairness, we’re talking about six people that you don’t know. Those six people view the evidence and make a unanimous decision that will decide what the fair value is. When you’re the one who’s hurt, you have a good idea of what you think it’s worth. The question is, can you persuade those other individuals whom you don’t know and were witnesses to believe that’s what the case is worth? Kevin Flesch understands the way the jury thinks. SPEAKER 08 :
All right, we are back. Rush to Reason, Debra’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. All right, movie rental the rest of this hour. Murder Mysteries. Andy, take it away.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, first of all, real quick question. Do you guys like murder mysteries?
SPEAKER 08 :
Yes, I do, actually.
SPEAKER 04 :
I do.
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s one of my favorite genres.
SPEAKER 04 :
Let me ask you this. Can I get totally sexist? Is that more of a guy kind of theme? I think women can really get into that, too. Some of the best murder mysteries are led by women. True. What do you think?
SPEAKER 07 :
There’s a weird stigma where girls like watching crime and murder mystery because… they’re shocked it would ever happen. But granted, I mean, most of the time it’d be a man murdering a woman. So it’s kind of weird that they’re into that, but I love it. Any crime related murder, serial killer type of thing. That’s right up my alley.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. All right. Well, let’s jump in. I think certainly one of the most popular of all time and one of the most impressive in a lot of ways, although I don’t like this movie, it’s too depressing for me. Fargo. Here we go.
SPEAKER 08 :
Fargo.
SPEAKER 01 :
I want you to tell me what these fellas look like. Well, the little guy, he was kind of funny looking. Can you be any more specific? He wasn’t circumcised.
SPEAKER 10 :
Jeez, that’s a good thing. Yeah. From the creators of Barton Fink. I’m cooperating here. And there’s no… And Raising Arizona. What do you fellas got yourself mixed up in? Oh, jeez.
SPEAKER 20 :
You’re there in 30 minutes where I find you, Jerry, and I shoot you, and I shoot your wife, and I shoot all your little children, and I shoot them all in the back of their little heads.
SPEAKER 17 :
You got it?
SPEAKER 20 :
You should shoot your other guy.
SPEAKER 10 :
Oh, geez. Fargo.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, that is Fargo. Obviously, she won Best Actress. I thought Fargo was very impressively good. Great movie.
SPEAKER 07 :
I loved it, yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 07 :
I mean, it’s the title of our topic, but Murder Mystery with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, I didn’t know. It wasn’t bad. I’ve got that.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, not terrible. I love Jennifer Aniston until she starts talking about politics.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, leave that away. Or leave that alone, I should say.
SPEAKER 04 :
You know, it’s kind of funny, too, because she’s very close to Adam Sandler, who, you know, he’s not very political, period, but he leans right.
SPEAKER 08 :
He leans right, doesn’t say much like he’s supposed to, and off he goes. Yep.
SPEAKER 04 :
And makes money. And he makes money.
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s kind of funny how that works, right? Yeah. John, you’re up. Surprisingly enough, that’s how that works. L.A. Confidential.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, good one. What a great movie.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yep.
SPEAKER 04 :
What a great movie.
SPEAKER 08 :
1997, by the way.
SPEAKER 04 :
So many good performances. The thing that really blew my mind was just how many good performances there were in that movie. It was just devastating to watch. Now, another movie that had some really good performances, and this was directed by Clint Eastwood. Here we go. Mystic River.
SPEAKER 09 :
like she was preparing to never see me again. You don’t think I’d have hurt her, do you? She isn’t hurt, Brendan. She’s dead.
SPEAKER 16 :
I loved her so much.
SPEAKER 09 :
I know in my soul I contributed to your death, but I don’t know how. I’m gonna find him before I’m pleased.
SPEAKER 20 :
I’m gonna find a man and I’m gonna kill him.
SPEAKER 03 :
You know what I was thinking about?
SPEAKER 20 :
A vampire. Maybe one day you wake up and you forget what it’s like to be human. Maybe then it’s okay.
SPEAKER 11 :
You’re not making any sense.
SPEAKER 15 :
Sometimes I think all of this is just a dream, you know? How about you tell us what really happened Saturday night, Mr. Boyle? And why is your wife acting like she’s afraid of you, huh?
SPEAKER 04 :
Anyway, it goes on. But so many great performances in that movie. And, yes, Sean Penn. Right. Tons of Libby’s, I understand. But they do a good job. So there you go, Mystic River. You are up.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, I would say Murder Mystery, too, but that’s just too easy. So I’m going to go with Glass Onion, Knives Out.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh. Knives Out. So that’s actually the sequel. Right. Glass Onion. So you’re not saying both.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. Just Glass Onion we’ll start with.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, Glass Onion. There you go. Roger Craig was in both, right?
SPEAKER 07 :
Daniel Craig, yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
Why did I say Roger Craig? I have no idea. Anyway, Roger Craig was a great running back for the San Francisco 49ers. Or the Cat Francisco 49ers. John, you’re up.
SPEAKER 08 :
Wind River. Have you seen that? Yeah. Have you, Andy?
SPEAKER 04 :
No.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s a lot. It’s a great movie. Jeremy Renner stars in it. I like Jeremy Renner. He’s basically the game warden, I guess you could say, or the park ranger game warden on Indian Reservation. I can’t believe you haven’t seen it, Andy. It’s a really good movie. Okay. Both you and Corey, I’m not joking, you would really enjoy it. It’s a really good movie.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. I like Jeremy Miller.
SPEAKER 08 :
And I won’t say any more because it’s one of those movies where you think you know who did it, but you don’t.
SPEAKER 04 :
Now, it’s about reservation. Is it a bunch of anti-white man? No, no, no. No, not at all. Woke stuff? Nothing like that?
SPEAKER 08 :
No, I don’t think they… No, it’s not that at all. I don’t remember any woke stuff, no. No, in fact… I’m not saying I wouldn’t watch that. No, at the end, you’re like, this really could happen?
SPEAKER 04 :
Right.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, it’s that kind of a movie. You’d like it. It really is a good movie.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. Well, one thing we always like to see in these killer movies is a great cop.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
Right. Somebody who really knows who’s just brilliant. He’s always a step ahead. And we have that in Scary Movie with Doofy. Here we go. Scary Movie.
SPEAKER 11 :
Hello, Cindy. Hi, Principal Squigman. Hey, Doofy.
SPEAKER 13 :
It’s Special Officer Doofy today, Cindy. Now, Cindy, Sheriff has some questions that he would like to ask you today.
SPEAKER 10 :
What is that? That god-awful smell.
SPEAKER 16 :
I don’t know.
SPEAKER 10 :
I got poopy. I’m sorry. Did you just say that you went poopy?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, it was good.
SPEAKER 10 :
Get him out of here.
SPEAKER 17 :
You should now go back to special ed.
SPEAKER 08 :
Maybe a change of underwear, son.
SPEAKER 04 :
Bye, Doofy. What movie is this? Scary movie.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, scary movie.
SPEAKER 04 :
Officer Doofy. And what that was was a play on the officer from Scream.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, gotcha.
SPEAKER 04 :
And so the officer in Scream was an idiot played by David Arquette.
SPEAKER 08 :
Gotcha.
SPEAKER 04 :
And so they decided to make a super idiot in Doofy.
SPEAKER 08 :
Gotcha.
SPEAKER 04 :
All right, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 07 :
I had never seen this movie and thought it might be kind of weird, but I watched it within the last year. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I loved it.
SPEAKER 08 :
I liked that movie.
SPEAKER 07 :
I loved it. Yeah, good movie.
SPEAKER 08 :
It doesn’t have great reviews, but I think it’s a good movie.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah. Rotten Tomatoes is 86, IMDb 7.8. Was that Daniel Craig as well? Yeah. I loved it. I did too.
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s not on my huge master list. Why not?
SPEAKER 07 :
Christopher Plummer’s in it as well. He’s great. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
John, you’re up. Okay, this one, you wouldn’t think of a murder mystery, but it is Dirty Harry.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
Because you don’t know who the killer is. Dirty Harry is trying to find the killer, actually.
SPEAKER 04 :
Totally.
SPEAKER 08 :
He’s running around trying to find him.
SPEAKER 04 :
It’s just, though, it’s more about him than the mystery, but I don’t care.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s more about him being the cop going after the bad guy, you know?
SPEAKER 04 :
He’s just such a… What a great character, by the way, Dirty Harry. Well, how many cops in the movies have been based on that template since then?
SPEAKER 08 :
Most. That tough cop who disrespects authority. Going against the woke.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, who’s anti-woke, disrespects authority, tough cop.
SPEAKER 08 :
Even in the 70s, he was going against the woke.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, he was great.
SPEAKER 08 :
All right, John and Cheyenne, you’re next.
SPEAKER 06 :
Hey, guys, John, you stole my Wind River. What a terrific movie. It’s a great movie. Oh, it also has Elizabeth Olsen in it. And you would never expect her to play such a great character. She was the FBI agent, John?
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
Great movie. She was terrific.
SPEAKER 08 :
That is, John, you and Tanner both know this. That’s one of those movies where if it’s on, you just keep watching it. Right. You know, you just stumble across it, and you just keep watching it. It’s that kind of a movie.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, I have another one that if it’s on, I’ll watch it over and over again, and that’s The Maltese Falcon. Oh. Bogey. Bogey as Sam Spade, the detective. What a great movie. Yep.
SPEAKER 04 :
Agreed.
SPEAKER 06 :
And, John, you said just the original Dirty Harry, but all the Dirty Harrys, you didn’t know who the killer was. That’s true.
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s true.
SPEAKER 06 :
So I will give them all. One of my favorites is the one where all the young actors are playing cops that are committed.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. What’s the one guy’s name? Megaforce.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, it had Robert Urich.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, but what’s the blonde guy’s name that was in all sorts of other movies at that same time? David Soule. Ah, there you go.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes. It also had Tim Matheson, who played Otter in Animal House, and a lot of other characters. That was one of the best ones, I thought.
SPEAKER 08 :
True.
SPEAKER 06 :
But, yeah, I’ll just throw with those two, and then I’ll just say somebody will send some names, but any Hitchcock murder mystery is always worth a watch.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, yeah. I agree. I agree.
SPEAKER 22 :
You guys have a great day.
SPEAKER 08 :
You too, John. Appreciate you. Joe, let’s squeeze you in. Go ahead, Joe.
SPEAKER 22 :
Red, you may not think of this one as a murder mystery either, but it is the first Jack Reacher movie with Tom Cruise that opens with five people being shot on the grenade. Good. Did the ex-Army guy really do it or not?
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, that’s a good one. No, that one counts. Yeah, that counts.
SPEAKER 22 :
I love that movie.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 22 :
I loved it.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s another one, if it’s on, you just keep watching.
SPEAKER 22 :
Yeah, every time. And Tom Cruise, I think, did a much better job of capturing the essence of the Jack Reacher character than Alan Richardson did. Yeah. Although he didn’t look the part, he just captured the essence of the man.
SPEAKER 08 :
He’s a good actor, as you know.
SPEAKER 22 :
Great. All right. That’s all I got.
SPEAKER 08 :
Good stuff, Joe. Appreciate it. All right, Andy, take it away.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. Let’s see here. Sorry. I was having a hard time getting there. Okay. Here we go. The usual suspects. Here we go.
SPEAKER 09 :
And these are not the usual suspects. Keaton. I’m a businessman. McManus. There’s nothing that can’t be done. Hockney.
SPEAKER 20 :
What, you got a team of monkeys working around the clock on this? Fenster.
SPEAKER 09 :
Flip you. Flip you for real. Verbal Kint. Roger, really? People say I talk too much. He doesn’t know what you want to know. I don’t think he does. Not exactly. But there’s a lot more to his story, believe me. In a world where nothing is what it seems. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled. He’s here. Was convincing the world. I know, he’s here. He didn’t exist. You’ve got to look beyond. the usual suspects.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, that was a very well-done movie. Did you ever see it, John?
SPEAKER 07 :
No, I haven’t either.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, you haven’t?
SPEAKER 07 :
It looks good. Good ratings.
SPEAKER 04 :
You know, Tanner, I think you’d like it. I really do. And John, I think you might too. A lot of good acting. Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 07 :
Thriller, crime, psychopath, I’m all over it. The Maltese Falcon, I was going to say that to show you how old I am. But let’s go with maybe my favorite psycho movie, Seven, with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. Okay, I got a clip. Here we go. Maybe.
SPEAKER 05 :
It’s dead. There are seven deadly sins. Gluttony.
SPEAKER 06 :
You’re going to come take a look at this!
SPEAKER 05 :
Greed.
SPEAKER 06 :
No one touches anything!
SPEAKER 05 :
Sloth, wrath, pride, lust, and envy. Seven. You can expect five more of these. The body was found on Tuesday morning.
SPEAKER 11 :
I hate this city.
SPEAKER 15 :
We’re going to get who did this. This will be the very definition of swift justice.
SPEAKER 05 :
There are two more bodies, two more victims. This guy’s methodical, exacting, and worst of all, patient. He’s laughing.
SPEAKER 04 :
You know, Seven was really good. Morgan Freeman, to me, it’s not one of his roles that most people think of as his greatest roles. I think it should be.
SPEAKER 07 :
I thought him and Brad were amazing, and the ending is unbelievable. I mean, it’s one of my favorite movies.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. John, you’re up. Hold on. Let me cross that one. And it’s Seven, but it’s spelled weird.
SPEAKER 04 :
S-E-7-E-N. Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
Really strange as far as that goes. That’s okay. Let’s do… How about The Vanishing, 1988?
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, wow. I have not seen it.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s a good movie, too.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, okay. We’ve got to go to one of John’s favorite actors, Steve Martin. Here we go. Dead men don’t wear plaid.
SPEAKER 08 :
Dead men don’t watch him.
SPEAKER 19 :
Steve Martin, Ham, Rigby Reardon in Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid.
SPEAKER 15 :
Will $200 be enough in advance, Mr. Reardon? 200, I’d shoot my grandmother. No criminal is too tough for him.
SPEAKER 06 :
No pain is too great.
SPEAKER 15 :
Where’d you learn that?
SPEAKER 19 :
At camp. No joke, too disgusting.
SPEAKER 15 :
Do I look like a dame?
SPEAKER 17 :
Not as much as I do.
SPEAKER 15 :
I haven’t turned on the charm yet. He’ll laugh in the face of danger. He’ll dace in the fange of laughter. I’m on an important case. I need your help. These people we’re dealing with are killers. Well, thanks for telling me. Say something like, no, no, Miles Oak, listen to me.
SPEAKER 04 :
That’s good enough. It was a lot of fun. By the way, he mixes in, it’s black and white, and he mixes in a lot of clips from old black and white movies, like with Bogart and other characters. Really good.
SPEAKER 08 :
Sure it is.
SPEAKER 04 :
I enjoy it. Dead men don’t wear plaid. Steve Martin.
SPEAKER 08 :
Doesn’t even look familiar to me. I can’t watch him. I’m sorry.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let’s go with Get Out.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, you’re right. That is a murder mystery. I had not thought of that. I always thought of it more in horror terms. But yeah, well done, sir. Well done.
SPEAKER 08 :
Only because this has come in from several listeners. Clue.
SPEAKER 04 :
Totally. Clue. That was a really good one. Okay, let’s go with one that you may not have expected. Minority Report. Good one, Andy.
SPEAKER 20 :
He set me up. He set me up.
SPEAKER 10 :
And DreamWorks Pictures.
SPEAKER 20 :
Who’s the victim? I’ve never heard of him, but I’m supposed to kill him in less than 36 hours. He’s coming here to get her.
SPEAKER 10 :
Tom Cruise.
SPEAKER 20 :
I need your help.
SPEAKER 22 :
You contain information. I need to know how to get at it.
SPEAKER 09 :
In a Steven Spielberg film. I have to know. I have to find out what happened in my life. You tell me, who was it that set this up?
SPEAKER 04 :
I don’t know.
SPEAKER 09 :
How about now?
SPEAKER 10 :
On June 21st.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, Minority Report, which I think is a very underrated movie. Nobody ever mentions it in the lexicon of great Tom Cruise movies. I think they should. What do you guys think?
SPEAKER 07 :
I’ve never seen it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, I think it’s really good. What do you think, John? It is.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s a good movie.
SPEAKER 04 :
I think you’d like it, Tanner. Give it a chance. Okay, you are up.
SPEAKER 07 :
Another one of my favorite movies. You can see the trend. I like Psycho-Pass for some reason, but Zodiac.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, yeah. Zodiac is good.
SPEAKER 07 :
Great cast, too.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, Jake Gyllenhaal. You got Robert Downey Jr. Mark Ruffalo. Mark Ruffalo. Yeah, really good. John, you’re up.
SPEAKER 08 :
Andy just reminded me of a movie that you don’t think of as a murder mystery because he’s on the run the whole time, but it is The Fugitive, Harrison Ford.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes. That’s on my list. Actually, that’s one of my favorite mysteries.
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s a great show.
SPEAKER 04 :
I loved it. Okay, one of the great murder mysteries of all time. Here we go. Who framed Roger Rabbit? I have never seen that. Booga Booga.
SPEAKER 10 :
Every moment they were together was a new adventure in trouble.
SPEAKER 14 :
Hide me, Eddie. Please.
SPEAKER 10 :
It’s a motion picture about friendship.
SPEAKER 14 :
Take it easy, Booga. Please, Eddie. Don’t tell me I’m making a big mistake.
SPEAKER 18 :
Love. Eddie.
SPEAKER 10 :
All right, I’m sorry I yanked your ears.
SPEAKER 14 :
All the time you yanked my ears?
SPEAKER 23 :
Marvin Ackman. A rabbit cacked him last night.
SPEAKER 11 :
Remember, you never saw me.
SPEAKER 23 :
Sex.
SPEAKER 11 :
I’d do anything for my husband, Mr. Valiant. Anything.
SPEAKER 04 :
Jessica Rabbit.
SPEAKER 08 :
I’ve never seen it. I’ve got to stop and watch it sometime. Is it really good?
SPEAKER 04 :
You know, it’s hit and miss. There are definitely a lot of good moments. It was very impressive what they were able to do at that time. Nowadays, of course, you mix cartoons and people all the time. But then it wasn’t. Yeah, back then it was hard.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay. There you go. Have you ever seen it, Tanner?
SPEAKER 07 :
No, and I don’t think I want to.
SPEAKER 08 :
I want to see it just for that.
SPEAKER 04 :
Jessica Rabbit basically was supposed to be the ideal woman ever, and it was just kind of funny. Anyway, okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let’s go with Red Dragon. Oh, yes. Anything with Anthony Hopkins especially playing on him being Hannibal Lecter, I love that.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yep. In fact, that’s going to be my next one. Go ahead, John.
SPEAKER 08 :
I’ve got one that just came in from a listener that I’ll use, The Bone Collector.
SPEAKER 04 :
Ooh, good one.
SPEAKER 08 :
Good job.
SPEAKER 04 :
Very good. Okay, here we go. And my next one was Silence of the Lambs.
SPEAKER 10 :
I’ll help you catch him, Gary. Believe me, you don’t want Hannibal Lecter inside your head. With the darkest of all minds.
SPEAKER 20 :
Just do your job and never forget what he is. Oh, he’s a monster. Pure psychopath. So rare to capture one alive.
SPEAKER 05 :
So close to the way you’re going to catch him. Do you realize that? Oh, Clarice, your problem is you need to get more fun out of life. You told me you don’t spook easily.
SPEAKER 12 :
You call this easy, sir?
SPEAKER 22 :
Fletcher’s missing hand and arm.
SPEAKER 10 :
Man, it’s a raging maniac. Who knows what he’ll do?
SPEAKER 1 :
Thank you, Clarice.
SPEAKER 08 :
Thank you. Hello, Clarice.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, my gosh. What an incredible performance. By the way, Jodie Foster was terrific, too, but he was so dominant.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right.
SPEAKER 04 :
Anthony Hopkins. Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let’s go with Righteous Kill with De Niro and Pacino. Who? Have you seen it?
SPEAKER 04 :
I have not.
SPEAKER 07 :
I have not. They are partners, and then they’re trying to find this murderer, and one of them finds out it’s the other one.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. Very cool. Okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
Along came a spider.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, so good. That’s good. That’s very good.
SPEAKER 08 :
All right. We have to take a break. Yeah, let’s do it. We’ll take a break. We’ll come back. We’ll keep going. Golden Eagle Financial coming up next. Al Smith did a great interview here just recently. Listen in. We’ll be right back. Find him by going to klzradio.com.
SPEAKER 21 :
TJ here with KLZ and Al Smith of Golden Eagle Financial. And Al, I have a question for you. I’ve been putting money away for a while in a savings account or maybe a couple of investment accounts. But what am I doing wrong and what can you do better than that?
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, I think a savings account is important because all the financial gurus, including myself, agree you should have three to six months savings that you have ready liquid access to. But retirement planning is a bit more long term and it’s a bit more strategic. We want to take a look at the sum of money you’ll need way into the future. And we want to look at how that money can last by providing you income for as long as you live.
SPEAKER 21 :
What kind of planning or strategy do you provide for folks with that that have a big savings but haven’t made that next step?
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, that’s a good question. If someone has a large amount in savings, one of the things I do is we have a conversation about their risk tolerance. Nobody’s comfortable losing money, but having money in the market over a long period of time is a mechanism to accumulate wealth. And so we talk about the different levels of risk and the different products that are available. And we don’t put everybody into one box, but I have an enormous assortment of financial products. And it’s not that there’s good ones or bad ones. It’s there are some that are more appropriate for some people, but not for others.
SPEAKER 21 :
And that sounds excellent. How can folks get in touch with you for that meeting?
SPEAKER 13 :
You can reach me at 303-744-1128. And if I’m not there, it goes to voicemail, but I return my voicemails promptly. And we could have a conversation in the office. If you live a considerable distance away, we can have a long phone conversation or a Zoom call, whichever you would prefer.
SPEAKER 21 :
And as always, you can find him at klzradio.com slash money. Al, thanks so much for joining us today.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, thank you, TJ. Thanks for the conversation.
SPEAKER 21 :
You bet.
SPEAKER 08 :
Live and local, back to Rush to Reason. And we are back. Rush to Reason, Debra’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. And, Andy, take it away.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, the next murder mystery, and it really was Johnny Depp in Sleepy Hollow.
SPEAKER 23 :
We have murders in New York without benefit of ghouls and goblins. You’re a long way from New York, Constable.
SPEAKER 02 :
We have many things to talk about, even in this backward place.
SPEAKER 23 :
Excuse my manner. I’m not used to… Female company?
SPEAKER 1 :
Murder!
SPEAKER 23 :
The horseman’s killed again! The assassin is a man of flesh and blood, and I will discover him.
SPEAKER 12 :
Are you so certain of everything?
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, that was really a surprisingly good movie, Sleepy Hollow. Obviously a supernatural murder thriller. You’re up, Tanner.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let’s go with The Commuter, Liam Neeson. Surprisingly better than you would think.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, it was. I was impressed by it. You know what? Yeah, that wasn’t bad. It was pretty good. A lot of his have been bad.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, him and Nick Cage, you never know what you’re going to get.
SPEAKER 04 :
No, you don’t. John, you’re up.
SPEAKER 08 :
No Way Out.
SPEAKER 04 :
No Way Out.
SPEAKER 08 :
No Way Out.
SPEAKER 04 :
That was actually pretty good. Okay, how about Happy Death Day? Here we go.
SPEAKER 07 :
The way I see it, you have unlimited amount of lives, unlimited opportunities to solve your own murder.
SPEAKER 12 :
So I’m supposed to keep dying until I figure out who my killer is?
SPEAKER 07 :
You want to live to see tomorrow, right? Whoever’s killing you knows it’s your birthday.
SPEAKER 12 :
Pretty much the entire school knows it.
SPEAKER 09 :
These are signs of major trauma. You should be dead.
SPEAKER 11 :
You relive the same day over and over again. Kind of start to see who you really are.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, and basically it’s Groundhog Day for murder on a campus. It was pretty good. It was very good, actually. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let’s go with Basic Instinct. Oh, good movie.
SPEAKER 08 :
sharon stone i’m blanking on the man uh douglas douglas michael douglas john you’re up that was a good movie made her famous right not one of the first ones that she ever did was she really she did that scene that everyone got upset about right but that was like her her initial you know big debut or whatever you want to say right right but it really got her going
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, and she did a lot. There you go.
SPEAKER 08 :
Game Night.
SPEAKER 04 :
Game Night.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s hilarious, by the way.
SPEAKER 04 :
That was hilarious.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s a good movie.
SPEAKER 04 :
And who stars in that again? Is it Jason Bateman?
SPEAKER 08 :
Bateman.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, yeah. I like him.
SPEAKER 08 :
I do, too.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, here’s one. If you want to see a bunch of great actors all surrounding Sylvester Stallone, Copland.
SPEAKER 15 :
Freddie’s a hell of a guy.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, he should call me. But now, he has uncovered something that could force him to choose between protecting his idols and upholding the law. Babbage isn’t dead. You know it and I know it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Do you have any idea how connected he is? It’s over. The case is closed. You butt heads with these friends of ours? You’re going to come at them head on? I offered you a chance to be a cop, and you blew it.
SPEAKER 04 :
It is intense, and it’s really good. It’s a slow burn, but it picks up toward the end, and it’s very good. Have you guys seen Copland at all?
SPEAKER 07 :
I have not.
SPEAKER 04 :
What did you think, Tanner?
SPEAKER 07 :
I liked it. Okay. You’re up. Let’s go with Spiderhead. I have not seen it. Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller. It was a little trippy, a little futuristic-like, but it was good. Okay. John?
SPEAKER 08 :
The Sixth Sense.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh. Yes.
SPEAKER 08 :
Now, is that murder? I see dead people.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. Oh, you’re right.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, what brought her back? Okay. Here’s one.
SPEAKER 08 :
I see dead people.
SPEAKER 04 :
I see dead people. Is that a Kendrick Lamar song?
SPEAKER 08 :
Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER 04 :
What a great performance, by the way. Okay, a few good men. Here we go. Oh.
SPEAKER 23 :
Good one. I think I’m entitled. You want answers. I want the truth. You can’t handle the truth. Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.
SPEAKER 04 :
Now, without the Santiago part, I say all of that every time my wife disagrees with me.
SPEAKER 08 :
You can’t handle the truth.
SPEAKER 04 :
You can’t handle the truth!
SPEAKER 08 :
What a movie. And Tom Cruise was young then. Oh, he was so good. Him and Demi Moore, I mean, they’re young.
SPEAKER 04 :
And they were terrific.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, great movie. That’s another one of those where if it’s on, you just keep watching it.
SPEAKER 04 :
But Nicholson, as the villain, was spectacular.
SPEAKER 08 :
Awesome.
SPEAKER 04 :
He really was.
SPEAKER 08 :
Good movie.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay, Tanner, you’re up. Bad Times at the El Royale.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER 07 :
I actually liked it. Didn’t get the best reviews. Yeah, why didn’t it? I don’t know.
SPEAKER 04 :
You never know. I mean, so many times I don’t understand the reviewers either. Go ahead, John.
SPEAKER 08 :
Gone, baby, gone.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, good one. Good one. Okay, how about Charade with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant? It’s a classic. Trust me.
SPEAKER 08 :
I’m surprised it’s not on my classic list. It’s not.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, it was good. It was good. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 07 :
Wrath of Man with Jason Statham. That was a good movie. Yeah, I liked it.
SPEAKER 04 :
I think it was an Amazon one. I don’t know.
SPEAKER 07 :
That was a good movie.
SPEAKER 04 :
Only thing is, a little long. They could have cut it a little bit, but yeah, I liked it. I like him.
SPEAKER 08 :
I love him.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, yeah. So do I. John?
SPEAKER 08 :
Let’s see here. I got to cross one off because Andy already did that one. Give me one second. How about… The Big Sleep. That’s an old one, 1946.
SPEAKER 04 :
Wow. Humphrey Bogart. I have not seen it.
SPEAKER 08 :
I figured John from Cheyenne would have picked something like that.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, he would. Okay, since I’m already on the Jack Nicholson train, we’ve got to go with Chinatown.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, that’s next. It was on my list next, yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, he’s terrific. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let’s go with, I think this counts, Money Monster. Don’t know it. George Clooney movie. He’s like an investment guy on radio or TV.
SPEAKER 04 :
What’s it called again?
SPEAKER 07 :
Money Monster.
SPEAKER 04 :
I never watch movies with liberals in them, so I haven’t seen a movie in 16 years. Sure, yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
Sure, Andy.
SPEAKER 04 :
John, you’re up.
SPEAKER 08 :
Internal Affairs.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, yeah. Good, good, good. Okay. The Little Things, because I can’t do a week without Denzel. I can’t do it. I’m not capable. Great movie.
SPEAKER 07 :
Tanner, you’re up. Jared Leto in there. Kiss the Girls, Morgan Freeman.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 07 :
Another one he’s in.
SPEAKER 04 :
He’s so good.
SPEAKER 07 :
John?
SPEAKER 08 :
The Nice Guys.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, yeah. Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling. Yeah, I enjoyed that. Okay, how about Identity with John Cusack? Boy, does that have a surprise ending.
SPEAKER 08 :
He’s another one I like.
SPEAKER 04 :
He is, yeah. He’s really good. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 08 :
Flaming liberal, but I still like him. Yes, he is. Let’s go with Gone Girl. I did that one, didn’t I? No. No, you did Baby. I did Gone, Baby, Gone. Gone Girl. That’s a good one, too.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, I liked it. No more movies with Gone. Sorry, we’re done.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 04 :
Go ahead, John. Blue Velvet.
SPEAKER 08 :
Blue Velvet.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, gosh. That’s a disgusting movie, but it’s good. It’s well made. John, I have to go with another one of your favorite actors, John Travolta in The General’s Daughter. There you go. Tanner, you’re up. John hates John Travolta. Just so you know.
SPEAKER 07 :
Murder on the Orient Express. I’ll just take both of them.
SPEAKER 04 :
Classic. There you go.
SPEAKER 08 :
Murder on the Orient. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
John, you’re up.
SPEAKER 08 :
Hang on. I’m typing.
SPEAKER 04 :
We’re going fast now.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, I’m doing the best I can.
SPEAKER 04 :
I know.
SPEAKER 08 :
Hold on. I’m trying to keep up with you guys. Let’s see. How about Cape Fear?
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, yeah. Is that De Niro?
SPEAKER 1 :
1991.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, I think so.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, okay. And let’s go with Young Sherlock Holmes. That’s a good one. It’s kind of silly and fun. I enjoyed it. Okay, Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 07 :
Midsommar.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah. Only seen it once. Still love it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Is it summer or sommer? Sommer. But it’s midsummer, yeah. Midsummer. That’s a rough watch.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 07 :
It’s creepy.
SPEAKER 04 :
You ever throw people off a cliff? Not yet.
SPEAKER 08 :
Now you can. Did you guys say Knives Out yet? You did Glass Onion, right?
SPEAKER 04 :
Right. So you can say Knives Out. Knives Out. Okay. There you go. Okay. Here’s one you probably haven’t seen. Brick. Brick.
SPEAKER 08 :
No, I don’t even know that movie.
SPEAKER 04 :
Rick? Yep. Tanner, you’re up.
SPEAKER 08 :
The Batman. The newest one.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
Does that count? Eh, I haven’t seen it.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, like some secretary or something dies and they don’t know who it is, but we all find out.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay, this is one I’m going to mention that I’ve never seen, but I want to watch it because I’ve heard it’s really good, but maybe it’s not Shutter Island.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, yeah. It’s a murder mystery, but… Doesn’t that have Leo? DiCaprio. Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
We were just talking about him.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, here’s one. It’s an obvious one. Scream. Scream is a murder mystery. Yeah, true.
SPEAKER 07 :
Canada or Europe? Lost Girls. Yep. Lost Girls? I don’t think I’ve seen it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Hey, at least it’s not Gone Girls. That’s true. No more Gone. Murder by Death. Murder by Death. That was funny. Here’s a classic. Gosford Park.
SPEAKER 08 :
I think that’s on my list. I’ve got to cross that off now.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, it’s classic.
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s on my list. The Killer. New Netflix movie.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
I don’t know that movie.
SPEAKER 07 :
It’s been out for like two years on Netflix.
SPEAKER 08 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 04 :
Don’t know it. Tell no one. Tell no one. Have you guys ever seen Miss Marple movies with Angela Lansbury? Yeah. Okay, The Mirror Cracked. It’s one of the classics. Angela Lansbury played such a great sleuth. She was wonderful. Okay, Tanner, you’re up. Cold Pursuit with Liam Neeson. True. Slow, but good. Okay, John.
SPEAKER 08 :
How about The Secret in Their Eyes?
SPEAKER 04 :
I have not seen it.
SPEAKER 1 :
2009.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oscar-winning mystery.
SPEAKER 04 :
John, you already said Clue, right?
SPEAKER 08 :
Yes, I did.
SPEAKER 04 :
Just making sure. Listeners did. Okay, I’m going to go with a spoof. No, no, no, no. I’m not going to go with that. I’m going to go with U.S. Marshals.
SPEAKER 08 :
Ooh, that’s a good one too, Andy.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
Ooh, I forgot about that.
SPEAKER 04 :
I love Tommy Lee Jones. I can’t get enough, so there you go.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let’s go with the new Russell Crowe, Unhinged. Oh, that’s such a good movie.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s such a good movie. Now, is it a murder mystery? Cause you kind of know who’s doing all the murdering.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah. That’s where, uh, he’s like attacking, he’s like attacking you. Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
But it’s still a good movie. That’s what I was telling you about to where they have a little road rage incident and he just goes off and it’s a good movie. It really is.
SPEAKER 04 :
Don’t we all go off after road rage? It’s the only time I get angry. It really goes off. Go ahead, John.
SPEAKER 08 :
Uh, let’s see here. You, did you do Sherlock Holmes? One of you already?
SPEAKER 07 :
He did young Sherlock Holmes.
SPEAKER 08 :
Let’s just do Sherlock Holmes then.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. Hound of the Baskervilles. That’s Sherlock Holmes.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yep.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, you can do that one. I’m going to do the reverse of Sherlock Holmes where he and Watson reverse roles, and that’s in Without a Clue. With Michael Caine, it’s a comedy. that basically says Watson was always the smart one.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, you’re up.
SPEAKER 07 :
I don’t think Taxi Driver would count as mystery. I don’t know that movie. With De Niro? Yeah, De Niro. It’s a cult classic. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it. We’ll say that doesn’t count. We’ve talked about Hannibal Lecter, but let’s just go with the movie called Hannibal.
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, that’s a good one. Yeah. That counts. All right. I’ll end this one, and we’ll come back after the break. Rear window, because that’s an old Hitchcock movie that John was even talking about.
SPEAKER 04 :
Great one.
SPEAKER 08 :

But after 18, there is typically no spouse or someone already approved to legally make those crucial decisions. Michael Bailey can help make short work of a general medical or financial power of attorney for your college goer in one easy appointment. He’s got the experience and knowledge to ensure that whatever happens, you can still be a dedicated parent to your kids.
