I’m blessed. I’m very blessed. Thank you so much for having me back.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, I appreciate it very much. Had a good conversation the other day, our conversation today, especially after what we’ve seen in New York. We haven’t talked since then, but you being a Cuban-American understand more than anyone, probably this has got to be one of the biggest mistakes a voter of New York City has ever made. Am I correct in saying that?
SPEAKER 12 :
Yes, without a doubt. And I think what’s even more terrifying is just the number of people that I’ve seen on social media that are, that are happy with it. Now, to be fair, I don’t think that anyone else thought that Andrew Cuomo was a, was a phenomenal choice. So, you know, they didn’t really have the pick of the litter, but the fact that there are so many Americans that are turning around being grateful for Zoran is, is really pretty terrifying to be honest with you.
SPEAKER 07 :
David, how can they look at the fact that rich people have already been leaving the New York, they’ve been losing their tax base that would pay for all the things that Mamdani wants. How can they be chanting, tax the rich, tax the rich, so they can drive more away? I don’t understand. How can you further embrace something that has failed?
SPEAKER 12 :
For the same reason that there were all kinds of people that wanted the Ayatollah to come into Iran because they thought that they were going to have a better lifestyle. And then the first thing the Ayatollah did was execute 30,000 people. You know, when you have people who are brainless and mindless that do not really understand the complexities of wanting to get out of their situation, they go for anything that sounds good. You know, actually, I believe it was Plato, I can’t remember if it was Plato or Aristotle, but they hated democracy. And they hated democracy not because they thought that it was unfair, but because ultimately it descended… into mob rule with charismatic leaders. Luckily, our founding fathers were so brilliant that they set up the constitutional republic that we have, avoiding the pitfalls of pretty much every other system of government that had existed. And, you know, the older I get, the more I respect the founding fathers and the more I admire them. That’s right. For not only their knowledge, but their wisdom. And what we have really is a crisis in the United States because we have people… who are so disillusioned with capitalism because they don’t understand how to really rise above it, that they have run to this. That’s at least my personal belief.
SPEAKER 14 :
You’re right. In fact, I always laugh and have even made fun of people whereby the left will say things to the effect of, Donald Trump, he’s going to be the death of democracy. And I think, yeah, hopefully. Because we don’t want it anyways. I mean, I get what they’re trying to say, and that’s not really their intention. But I have corrected guests in the past, David, whereby even Republican, you know, conservative guests, where they use the term democracy, I’m always quick to say, time out. First of all, words matter, and we don’t have one. So let’s not talk about it that way.
SPEAKER 12 :
Right. Now, there are obviously Democratic portions of our government. Correct. We have the Electoral College. Correct. You know, obviously, by majority within each state, our representatives therefore cast their votes. Correct. But, you know, it’s not it’s not as if elements of democracy do not exist in our society. But for the greater good of everybody, you know, we have a constitutional republic. Yep.
SPEAKER 07 :
I would like to ask all these voters in New York, honestly, what is the difference between mob rule and democracy?
SPEAKER 15 :
Hmm.
SPEAKER 07 :
I mean, is it just that you use a vote instead of using a gun? I mean, what is the actual difference? Because mob rule is where the majority gangs up on the minority and gets their way and takes from the minority. How is democracy different? I mean, didn’t you just vote yourself other people’s wealth?
SPEAKER 12 :
Good point. Yeah, I would say that’s absolutely, you know, that’s a very important point. really comparison that you’ve made. Um, and, and again, that’s why our founding fathers were so brilliant. Yeah. You know, there’s one thing that I can say about it. It’s, I’m very grateful that I grew up in the household that I grew up in because it wasn’t a democracy. It was certainly a, definitely, certainly a, a, a rules focused.
SPEAKER 14 :
I always told my kids, David, I don’t know about your household, but as a dad, I always told my kids, this isn’t a democracy. It’s not even a Republic. This is a dictatorship and you’re gonna do what I say. Yeah.
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, I heard that a lot from my dad. He often used to tell me, you know, I can, you know, don’t piss me off too much because I can always knock you out and make another one just like you.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, your dad and I get along really well because we kind of come from, I think we’re cut from the same cloth. Definitely, without a doubt.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, my dad said the same, and I’d say, okay, what am I supposed to do? He says, ask your mom.
SPEAKER 12 :
Ah, there we go.
SPEAKER 07 :
Good one.
SPEAKER 12 :
That’s a great one.
SPEAKER 07 :
Hey, David, how much did you experience or know of the communism that happened in Cuba?
SPEAKER 12 :
I never experienced it. I was born in the United States of America in 1991.
SPEAKER 07 :
But did you hear stories?
SPEAKER 12 :
Absolutely. So what I was going to say was my experience comes down to basically secondhand knowledge. From your dad, right? Well, not only from my father, but I was going to say from my grandparents. I have one set that is still alive, by the grace of God, and I have not only just from my grandfather, but also from my great-grandfather. Mm-hmm. You know, in his story, you know, you want to talk about something sad. My great grandfather left Spain, you know, from a small town where there were four houses. It was called Panera. He went to Cuba, lived in the general store’s attic of a basically, you know, next to a sugar plantation, worked his way up for 10 years, eventually became a multimillionaire. He was clearing $10,000 U.S. in 1951 per month.
SPEAKER 13 :
Wow.
SPEAKER 12 :
Wow. Yep. He was doing really, really, he had built himself up, had worked really, really hard. And then, you know, Castro came in and that’s all she wrote. So he, I certainly have, I certainly have those testimonies within my family, but not only that, just the Cuban exile community that that’s still alive in Miami. I know most of them now are obviously born in the United States. So they are children of, because obviously the older generations are dying, but, That doesn’t mean that there’s not a rich history and hatred toward socialism and communism. And actually, in our novel, we have two, three characters, actually, who explain the dangers of that. The first being Ernesto, the other one being Santiago, and the third one being Joaquin. And they give you different glimpses of how they experienced communism based on the year that they came over. Because in the early stages, it wasn’t full force. They had only just taken over the country. There was still a grasp to a degree or a power grab between the existing military and the former one. So it wasn’t quite as bad as it was 10 years later. So you get these different perspectives within the novel, but I hope that it serves as a deterrent and certainly an enlightenment tool to anyone who – would take the time to read it and want to understand a little bit more about the dangers of communism and socialism.

Hey, David, just so you know, a lot of people in New York and Seattle who just got their own Mamdani, those people apparently have not read your books. Let me ask you this. Looking forward… What does the future look like? Because you’ve described what happened in places like Cuba. What does the future look like in New York and Seattle? Great question.
SPEAKER 12 :
You know, it’s interesting. I’m curious to know if the powers that be allowed these things to happen just kind of to give people a dry run. You know, it’s a little difficult to predict what could happen. True. But we already know that Kathy Hochul, who’s as crazy as you can imagine. Yep. has already done a great job of limiting Zoran Mamdani. I believe, you know, and I know this is going out on a limb here, but I believe that Zoran, you know, in his misguided idealness or, you know, idealism, I should say, I think he was looking to make money. And I think that that’s why he ran for public office. I think he’s going to be seen as a darling of the Democrat Party. I think that’s going to break even more than it already is. And I believe that we’re going to see leaders like this. They’re going to get in power. They’re not going to be able to solve anything. And then everyone’s going to turn around and say, see, they can’t do it. You’ve got to vote for us. They can’t do it. And I think that’s why he’s being limited already.
SPEAKER 14 :
I can’t argue with that. In fact, to your point, it’s interesting that his own party, basically she’s come along and said, well, hang on here, pal. A lot of what you’ve promised you can’t deliver because that’s a check you can’t write.
SPEAKER 12 :
Right. And that’s what I think is the long-term plan overall. The Democrats, if they want to save their party, which is pretty much gone, they have to let these people burn out. I think the best thing for the Democrat Party would be to have AOC run in 2028, have her get destroyed, and then they have to rebuild. And I think that there are many of them within the party that are looking at it thinking, I can rebuild the party where I am at the lead, and I can do things this way. But what they’re doing is only killing their own approval rating. But you do have a lot of people in this country who flirt with the idea of socialism and communism because they don’t understand it. They think that socialism is what they have in Europe, and Europe doesn’t have that. Europe has an extremely capitalist society, but what it is is that it’s a closed society, and it is that way through the socialization of certain industries to provide basically a tradeoff. You’re never going to rise unless you’re the exception. You’re never going to rise socially or economically. But here are these things so you don’t revolt against us. By the way, we’re going to take your guns.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah.

And that’s what people haven’t understood.

Because that’s one thing that they cannot get around. The Mamdani’s can’t get around it, but nobody’s offering it. Nobody’s saying that. Look, what you are putting together, people run from everywhere it’s done.

True. Very good point, Andy. And again, at the end of the day, words matter. And that’s why I’m big on making sure that I have even, you know, at times conservative guests where they’ll use the term democracy. And I’m always quick to say, yeah, let’s use a different word there because that’s not what we have. Yeah.

Let me ask you this. Do you see the Democrats wising up and listening to Fetterman because he has become their voice of reason? Or do you see them basically doing what a lot of our people are trying to do and have the extremist primary out the electables?
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes. Yes. They can’t stand the guy. And I think in their world, Fetterman has been a huge disappointment. Some of that, you know, I don’t know with all of his strokes and things that he had. I don’t know whether he had some sort of an enlightenment through all of that.

His view on things or what? I have no idea, Andy, but he is not the same John Fetterman that was there even four years ago.

Well, he’s the new Joe Manchin, and I did not see that coming.

I did not either. In fact, we made fun of him when he was running because it’s like they elected this guy, basically a hobo, and they elected this guy. And, yeah, they did. Now, you talk about shock on my end, Andy, like you. Holy cow, has he been a pleasant surprise.

I mean, he is so far to our side, he could put an R next to his name in most cases.

But he is still a loyal Democrat. He still supports a lot of what they do. And he’s very popular. Remember, Joe Manchin was immensely popular in West Virginia. So here’s my question, John. Because it’s not just OGB moderate. You’ve got to have personality. Fetterman has his thing, right? The hoodie. Right. He’s tatted up. He’s got the hoodie. He’s a guy.

Which, by the way, is so rare in the Democrat Party anymore. All the guys are these metrosexuals. That’s a fact. Well, they are. They’re wusses. You’re right. No, you’re right. And I’ll be honest, at least at first blush, he seems too evangelical Christian, too much like me and you, to sell to the middle here in Colorado. I’ll be honest. He comes off that way. He comes off like too Jesus-y. which I like, but I mean, Colorado doesn’t. Colorado doesn’t like Jesus anymore. Used to, doesn’t anymore, okay. But he does have a presence. I mean, he has mobs of people following him, so he’s got the Trump effect, you know, in a smaller degree, obviously. And he is somebody that a lot of people really, really like, but I almost wonder if his followers aren’t going to drive people away by being just almost cult-like in their appreciation of him.
SPEAKER 14 :
And to your point, that could be – for those of you that are in that camp, be really careful because if it’s perceived that way or you’re that way, it’s going to be the end of Victor’s campaign. He’s not going to go very far at all. I hate to say that, but he won’t because – and it’s because of you, not him, that that happens.
SPEAKER 07 :
Oh, yeah, and by the way, I look at his supporters online. A lot of people hate them. I don’t. I find them to be very nice, pleasant people. Yeah, I don’t hate them at all. I enjoy them a lot. But you know what? Almost none of them offer any reasons. All they do is cheerlead, okay? Vote Victor Marks. Victor Marks for Colorado. Victor Marks knows the way. They can say his name really well, but they don’t do much else. They’re just cheerleaders, and they come off like bots. OK, and I’m saying, folks, you’re not really making him more attractive to the base. And I got to be honest, right now, he’s the only one who I see having a groundswell that could possibly make him competitive in the general race. I’m not saying that he’ll be the one, but right now he is. My question is this, John, is there any chance we could get somebody here in Colorado, one of our Republican candidates who can appeal to the everyday person? In a special way to where all those unaffiliated voters, or at least a good amount of them, are going to connect with this person.
SPEAKER 14 :
And I don’t know.
SPEAKER 07 :
A Fetterman. We need, you know, everybody says, well, the Democrats need their Trump. You know what? Trump wouldn’t sell here in Colorado. We need our Fetterman.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, and I don’t know. I mean, out of the 20 that are running right now, I don’t know that there’s one of them that really fits the description, Andy, of what you just said. And maybe the closest would be Victor, although, again, like you, my fear with Victor is he’s really churchy, and that’s not a bad thing, okay? I mean, I love Christians and church people and all that, but if you come across too churchy, to the masses in colorado they’re going to eat your lunch you’re not going to make it in colorado and and i by the way really quick there’s also a lot of mud that’s being slung at victor but unrightfully so i i don’t think victor has any weird ill will on some of the things he has done i mean he’s being accused of by the likes of darcy uh shanning how do you say her name i always get it wrong darcy shanning and i want to talk about that in the next segment if i can Yeah, because she’s slinging mud that, frankly, she can’t prove either. I mean, Victor’s being accused by people like her of stolen valor and really some things that are just very mean, I guess you would say, at the end of the day. If you can’t prove that, don’t say it. And these are people that are, I mean, Andy, I don’t know how to say it. These are crazy individuals that are out for blood, and they don’t want to see Victor get to base one, nonetheless a home run.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, and they are crazy. They’ve got VDS.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, Victor Derangement Syndrome. They do. Oh, they do. Absolutely, they do.

And it’s just kind of like, dudes. Okay, look. Go to your jets, Darcy. I don’t know this guy yet either. He hasn’t been vetted enough, so I don’t know if he’s any good or not. But I will say this. He’s the only one who has a presence right now that could have a groundswell that could win.

I can’t disagree with that.

Only if I were advising Victor right now, Victor Marks, I would say this. Do more Fetterman, okay? Less evangelical preacher. And I don’t mean deny Christ three times like Peter, okay? I’m not saying anybody who listens to me and you knows that we never deny Christ, okay? We’re very proud of our Christian faith. But, man, you are a guy. You’ve got this military, soft-spoken military feel to you. You do. You have the soft-spoken military kind of charisma, connection. You come off as a very real guy’s guy. Yeah, he’s got that look. Just be that.
SPEAKER 14 :
And he’s a handsome man. I mean, he’s got a very nice appearance to him. You know, not that you have to have that as a politician. Fetterman kind of proved that. But, you know, let’s face it. Does it help the Gavin Newsoms of the world? It absolutely does. Yes. Am I right? His appearance helps him greatly, doesn’t it?

Oh, absolutely. I mean, Newsom has very little else to offer.
SPEAKER 14 :
But he looks good. But he looks good. He looks good on camera, speaks well.

He looks good behind the podium.

And so let me – I don’t know exactly the order of these and how they work, but she responded in a post to Victor where Victor said, there’s a small group of individuals who claim to be Republicans, but they’re ill-informed research. I can’t read the rest because it’s hidden, blah, blah, blah. Darcy comes back and says – There’s zero reason to get behind this man. Those who do are supporting evil and its political stronghold on our state. As far as candidates, there are several in the race who aren’t politicians and some who are politicians and have voted well. I’m protecting my state and my kids. Victor’s people can carry out whatever smear campaign they wish. They already are. I am who I am, and my whole life is on the Internet. You can’t hurt me any harder. I would never have my children in any room next to Victor Marks. Colorado is in trouble. I will dig up much more on Victor, as will many others. Take back your sham candidate now before it gets worse for him and the rest of the state consequentially.” Here today on Schilling, whatever that is, he started feeling like Victor’s story didn’t add up. I don’t care what their name is, by the way. Donald Trump included. If somebody wants to be on the program, they reach out to me. We have them on. I’ve never reached out to a politician yet, nor will I. No. It’s just not my style. It’s not what I do.

No. Is he as dynamic as even Polis? Probably not quite. I hate to say this, but I think Polis is probably at times even a little bit more dynamic than Victor because Polis does have decent delivery when he wants to.

He can really deliver. I mean, he’s a wonderful speaker. I would put J.D. Vance up there as well. There are some who are really great. Do we have somebody in our state like that? No. But Victor Marks has such a story that he is a very compelling guy. I say play to that. And by the way, one last thing. Victor… I don’t know if you’re listening. I assume you’re not, you know, because he’s very busy right now. He’s campaigning. But, Victor, you right now have a lot of people attacking you and throwing out these attacks. I think it would really behoove you to, because I guarantee you’ve got, right now you’ve got consultants saying, don’t give them the oxygen of responding to them. No, no, Victor, right now you do. Right now, respond. Give fact-based answers to every one of these things. Cut them off at the knees and let their accusations die. Because this idea that at this point, eight months out, you can just avoid them or ignore them and try to, say, stay above it, that’s not going to work.

No, and for those of you that may be in his campaign, a lot of you I know are close to him and do listen to us and so on. I hear from some of you on a pretty routine basis, and I get a lot of text messages of people that actually like Victor and all of that, and that’s great. And I’m not taking anything away from that. But what I will say is, to Andy’s point, you guys are going to have to run, if you plan on winning, and this is for any of the candidates listening, by the way, you’ve got to run a really dynamic and tight campaign in Colorado or you don’t have a chance of winning.

I don’t care who that is. I can run down the list of the people that are trying to run right now, Andy, that are even going to try to get through the primary end of things. Something to close out with, which, by the way, I think every candidate should be paying attention to because this should be a huge topic on the campaign trail for any governor. It won’t happen on the Democrat side, by the way, because they don’t have a fix for this because they’re already over budget in the state, and they’re just trying to figure out how to spend more of your money, raise more taxes, and do that. But Denver commuters, this is in the Fox 31 here in Denver. Denver commuters waste more time and money in traffic than the rest of the U.S., That was a report that just came out. So Americans are no strangers to traffic. Texas A&M Transportation Institute’s latest urban mobility report shows congestion in U.S. cities is just getting worse. Denver isn’t exempt from the trend as the city saw 10% more traffic delays in 2024 than 2023, according to the report. In fact, Denver has some of the worst delay and congestion numbers of the cities included in the report. Again, more fodder if you’re on the gubernatorial trail right now, Andy.

Yeah, but John, look what they’re doing. They’re literally subtracting lanes. Right. Like, you know, cutting lanes off of Broadway and putting in bike paths.

You know, folks, you need more lanes. You need more lanes. Right now, we have out in Aurora, the city council. A Republican lost his seat to a Democrat, and he was a popular Republican. Good guy. You know why he lost his seat? The Democrat said, I’m going to get us more lanes. out here i’m gonna get us more lanes and also i guess maybe a grocery store we’re in an area where it’s ready for one but i’m gonna get us by the way you can’t really claim but hey who cares people believed him and they he won or they won she won whoever yeah exactly he she whatever people heard more lanes and immediately they they cloistered around her what you’re gonna get us more lanes right which by the way which by the way she can’t she has no control over that but hey whatever No, all she’s going to do, well, she is going to campaign for it. She’s going to push for it.

Yeah, she’ll petition for it as a council member, but you can’t claim that as a, that’s like Mamdami claiming he can give you free buses. No, he can’t.

What she says she’s going to do is she, you know, in their city planning, she is going to be calling for more lanes, more lanes, more lanes in city planning. Okay, can she deliver? No. Good for her. But notice that she went right to what the market wanted.

Yeah, right now, this report talks about how the average commuter in America loses about 63 hours a year sitting in traffic. In Colorado, though, here in Denver, we lose an average of 76 hours. That’s more than three days sitting in traffic in 2024. Denver ranks 17th for delays for commuters out of the top 101 urban areas in the U.S., number 17.
SPEAKER 07 :
John, have you ever seen an area grow as fast as the Front Range, especially the Denver Metro? No. which means that our tax base grew phenomenally over the last two decades and not plan ahead with lanes like this.
SPEAKER 14 :
We never have. No, since I’ve been a native of here, we, for the longest time, even had governors that said things like, if you don’t build it, they won’t come, which is the most idiotic thing you could ever say. It’s Colorado. They’re going to come regardless. And we, frankly, Andy, we didn’t plan ahead. I mean, think about this for a minute. I was talking about this the other day. This is something else I would be running on if I were campaigning for governor. We have a road called 470. Now, depending upon where you’re at on 470, it’s either C470 or it’s E470 or it’s a Northwest Parkway. But here’s the reality. That’s a lie. Because it’s not 470. It’s really a 270. Because it really only connects two places. A true 470 or a true 4 in a number for an interstate goes around the city. It’s a ring road, if you would. Right. Our signs lie because it’s not 470. It’s not completed yet. It probably never will without some heavy influence from the governor to get it from the superior Louisville area all the way back over to Golden. And you’ve got three basic cities and counties and so on that you have to roll through, two counties that you have to roll through. Actually, three.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, I don’t see. how they’re going to do that.
SPEAKER 14 :
Broomfield, Boulder, and Jeffco, you’ve got to roll through to actually make that happen, and you need some heavy influence from the governor’s office to be able to get that passed. There is some land set aside for lanes currently, so it’s not like that couldn’t happen, but every one of those counties fight it. The people in those counties fight it, and at the end of the day, it’s not going to happen unless we get somebody on the governorship side of things to push forward on it, and that’s one of the things I honestly would be running on, because while those particular areas, which, by the way, are probably not going to vote for Republican anyways, so you’re not losing any of those voters, you know, Boulder, Broomfield, and that West Jeffco area, it’s very heavy Democrat anyway, so you’re not going to lose any voters to talk about running that road and completing it. At the end of the day, I would be campaigning for that, because that would take off congestion all around the city and other areas, because it would then be completed, and right now it’s not.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, right now you have to take 76. Right. So if you’re coming down from the north, you’ve got to take 76 to branch over to cut over to 70 and still go way out to 470. And it’s a disaster. Yeah. Once again, John, it comes down to more lanes, fewer holes.
SPEAKER 14 :
Correct.
SPEAKER 07 :
Fewer potholes.
SPEAKER 14 :
And we could fill that one and you could finish building that out, which hasn’t even begun yet because, again, of the of the confrontation you have with the three counties I just mentioned. And somebody needs to come in, a governor, by the way, who has got some clout and sit down and put the right transportation board together to whereby you can bypass some of what’s going on with those particular counties and say, listen, we’re completing this like it or not.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah. You need somebody to be a Trump.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s exactly right. We’re going to complete this regardless of what you guys want.

We’re going to get it done. We’re doing this.

Now, by the way, that is one thing about Trump. Unfortunately, Trump overall doesn’t sell well in Colorado, but that’s because of the other aspects of his personality that just don’t sell here. OK, but the getter done thing sells here. People would love to see it, but they don’t see it. They don’t see it.

By the way, I just gave all of you that are on the campaign trail.

That’s an easy one.

One example, low-hanging fruit that you could talk about running on. Listen, I will do my very best. I can’t promise anything, but I’m going to do my very best to stop lying to you about 470 because it’s not 470. It’s currently 270 because we have two sections yet we need to complete. And until those are completed, it’s not 470.

Okay, really quick here. Let’s close on this. What are the most popular Republican positions that our candidates should be pushing? I think we’ve already hit roads and transportation. It’s an easy sell.

Safety needs to be another one. This whole idea that we’re number one for car theft and so on, that needs to change. People are tired of it.

Crime.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, crime. People are tired of worrying about my car’s parked outside. We’ll be there tomorrow morning. I’m going to leave my car at the airport. Will it be there when I get back? People are tired of that. That’s an easy one to run on as well.

Okay, another one. Homelessness.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, easy. People are sick of it. No more. They’re tired of it. We don’t want this in our backyard any longer.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, you’ve got three choices, okay? We are going to build the places where they can be housed, where they can go, but they are not going to be in front of that business anymore that you and your kids want to go to. They are going to be cared for if they wish. If they don’t wish, they’re going to be in jail.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 07 :
Or they’re going to be out of our state.
SPEAKER 14 :
And somebody just texted and said, but there’s other cities that are the same growth that we have had. Phoenix being an example, they have done just fine. Yeah. Yeah, we haven’t. That’s the whole point. That’s the point. And I would run on that. Listen, folks, we’ve got sister cities like Phoenix that have done very well with their growth and they’ve controlled things very well. And yes, it can get busy traffic wise, but nothing like Denver. The reality is here’s a report just saying that we are number X, 17 out of all of the states for the amount of congestion and time you spend behind the wheel wasting time.

John, we spent insane amounts of money on T-Rex to add one lane each way.

Ridiculous.

What, are you kidding me? That should be six lanes each way.

And an example of where they did it well and it worked, and I take it on a regular basis, is I-70. That whole rebuild process with the HOV lanes and so on and adding lanes and whatever, that one has worked out extremely well. Yes, it’s pay for play, but if you want to get home fast, pay your five bucks and go home.

Yeah, at least you’ve got an option.
SPEAKER 14 :
At least you have an option versus sitting in traffic. Absolutely. Now, there’s a lot of Republicans that don’t like what I just said, but that’s the way it works. That’s what we’re up against right now. It does open up things. It does help you get from A to B much faster at the end of the day. And again, I’m just giving gubernatorial candidates fodder, if you would. These are things that you can actually run on that the average person relates to.

Easily. Easily. Now, the other thing that’s a big one, and you need to have a plan for this. You can’t just talk about it, but you really need to have a plan. How are you going to lower health care costs in Colorado so at the end of the day people’s taxes can go down as well?

How can you do that? What about property tax? And lastly, the whole property tax end of things you need to talk about as well because that’s another big one that hits everybody at home. And by the way, and Andy and I have said this many, many times, as Christians even, stay away from abortion. Stay away from the whole transgender thing. That stuff’s going to fix itself anyways. Just stay out of it. If it comes up, talk about it, but it does need to be a part of your campaign.

Right. I have my – oh, I have strong views on that, but they’re not going to be your laws. Now, here’s what is going to be your laws. Let’s fix this.

Let’s talk about roads and bridges and the taxes that you’re paying for your property and the fact that our school districts are failing. We’ve got schools that are actually having to shut down because of lack of participation, but yet your taxes are going up in those areas. These are things we need to fix in Colorado. See, guys, this isn’t that hard. It isn’t. Why are the gubernatorial candidates not speaking like this?
