SPEAKER 23 :
This is The Dana Show. My name is Craig Collins filling in for the day. Thrilled to be with you. Lots of stuff to talk about on a holiday. And honestly, maybe at some point I’ll even share some of my favorite Martin Luther King Jr. quotes. It’s the real thing. I know that sounds cliche. Everybody does it or just something. I don’t know what it sounds like, but maybe we’ll do it because there’s some really interesting ones that seem to fly in the face of a lot of what people today seem to think, at least on a certain side of the political aisle. Martin Luther King actually stood for he stood for a whole lot of allowing everyone to feel like they could be part of something as opposed to telling half of society that they were horrible people, which is really what happens a lot of the time now or more than half of society. Anyway, before we get there, let’s do some other things. First, I’ll just say this. Football was really fun over the weekend. A lot of very good games, some not-so-great games, a lot of turnovers. I know this isn’t a sports show, and I’m not going to do that a lot, but you would think that by the time you get to the playoffs, that the teams who could control the ball and control the amount of turnovers that they give away would actually win a lot of games. And we just saw a turnover palooza. And a lot of those games and every team I was cheering for lost. Whoever I cheer for tonight in the National College Football Championship is probably also doomed. All right. Anyway, let’s get to real things. Mayor Fry, that’s the mayor out of Minneapolis, who’s a piece of crap to me, yet again got on television and said that there won’t be any calm until ice leaves, essentially continuing to say that. One side of this equation is the bad guys, and it’s the federal officers who have every right to do their job. Minneapolis wants that not to happen. It’s one of many places that seem like they want to do everything they can to circumvent the federal authority of our government. And that feels more and more like you’re dangling the carrot of go ahead and try to use the Insurrection Act, President Trump, and then we’ll complain about how much of a dictator you are, a sort of thing. But it seems like they’re trying to force that avenue with some of these discussions, with some of these reactions to things. Here’s Mayor Fry on CNN.
SPEAKER 14 :
These ICE agents leave the city. I’m telling you, you’re going to have calm in Minneapolis and you will continue to see the great comeback that we had been experiencing. Let us get back to that comeback. Let us live.
SPEAKER 23 :
Let us get back to rampant fraud, theft and all kinds of other terrible things happening in this sanctuary cities.
SPEAKER 14 :
Let us have businesses that are open and daycares where you don’t need to escort staff to and from.
SPEAKER 23 :
Let us live in a place where… Let’s have daycares where nobody goes and a whole bunch of money just goes.
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, I mean, look, in Minneapolis, we’ll stand up. If we have to sled down ice hills to get to a protest, we’ll do that. If we’ve got to make sure that people are escorted to the grocery store, you know, we’ll do that. truthfully, we want to get back to a place where we can just love on our city, do our daily activities, just like any other town.
SPEAKER 23 :
And make sure that we all say out loud together that we hate the president, we don’t want to listen to anything he does or says, and anyone that we feel can be tied to him. Look, I’ll say this because at some point we’re probably doing a deeper dive today into it, but it feels like Democrats are begging President Trump to use the Insurrection Act to allow military to behave like police in certain cities. More or less, that’s an oversimplification of what happens. But more or less, that’s what it is. It’s saying that you’re not doing the job. Usually in this situation, the city would be begging for help from the federal government because it’s not often that the city or the state or whatever leader they are is standing so much against the person in the White House. In every way, shape or form that they can. I will say it once for the cheap seats in the back. ICE has every legal right to do all the things they’re doing, including if someone gets hit by a car, defending yourself from being hit by a vehicle. That is a thing they have a legal right to do. And so as we continue to go down this rabbit hole of discussion, you can see it playing out. or at least you can tell what the hope is, what the agenda is for the Democratic Party, they want to push Trump into a corner where they believe he’ll do something that they can use against him politically in the midterm election. That’s all they want to do. They want to find an avenue to then call him a dictator again. I’ll remind everybody of something real quick before I play any more audio. The government stayed shut down for the longest time in the history of our country. The Democrats set the record after yelling time and again, whenever Republicans did it, that it was wrong and terrible. And part of the reason they did, at least most people believe the reason it stayed shut down for so long after no real win was going to happen for Democrats was because of the no Kings protest. They thought, hey, let’s wait until we get to the no kings protest so we can shape Trump as more of an autocratic ruler to our idiot supporters, and then we’ll go ahead and open the government as we hold it hostage ourselves. This is another version of the same thing. By the way, I did like this on Face the Nation. This is Kristi Noem with a back and forth with Margaret Brennan talking about the amount of people who’ve been illegally or the amount of illegal people who’ve been detained by ICE that actually are, in fact, criminals of other things. Yes, it’s a crime to come into this country illegally. That in and of itself makes these people criminals. But they’re doing other stuff. 70%. Is the number that the United States has provided the media outlets? We have proof that backs that number up. They don’t care. They’re going to say whatever they want to say. Here’s a back and forth from Face the Nation where someone tried to make up their own number and Kristi Noem was not having it.
SPEAKER 26 :
What’s the breakdown of the percentage of those who you have in custody who have actually committed a criminal offense versus just the civil infraction?
SPEAKER 06 :
Every single individual has committed a crime, but 70% of them have committed or have charges against them on violent crimes and crimes that they are charged with or have been convicted of that have come from other countries that are here illegally, first of all, and then they have committed a criminal act while they’ve been here or in their home countries as well. But it’s not 70%. Yes, it is. It absolutely is. You guys keep changing your percentage. You pick and choose what numbers you think work. But that is the facts, is that 70% of the people that we have detained have charges against them or have been convicted of charges. And they need to be brought to justice. And we’re going to keep doing that no matter how much you guys keep lying and don’t tell the public the truth. It absolutely is that these law enforcement officers are out there every day doing the work to protect the American people. And they will keep doing that because they believe in enforcing the law, which is exactly what.
SPEAKER 23 :
Here’s something I love. After that video, there’s a bunch of comments about it and some other things out there. And some people were asking, is Margaret Brennan stupid or does she just hate facts? And that happens to be the case so often now. People hate the idea of having a conversation about actual provable things. They don’t like that part. If you tell them that the ICE officer was hit by the car, a bunch of people will put their fingers in their ears and start yelling, and trying not to listen to you because how dare you? I try to give them some sort of facts. How dare you try to tell them some sort of actual thing that happened as part of the basis of a discussion about what happened after that moment. They don’t want to know about that. They don’t care. How dare you even try to be serious at all? Now, by the way, one of the first acts of the new governor of Virginia is to basically beg Trump to use the Insurrection Act. Abigail Spanberger’s first act as governor was to repeal Youngkin’s executive order that mandated state and local law enforcement cooperate with immigration enforcement. This is uniquely important, obviously, because immigration enforcement has every right to do the thing they’re doing and saying that you’re going to fight them, doing what Mayor Fry had also done when he said that he was expecting his police to fight ICE, or that’s what the people of Minneapolis were asking for, is that the police officers interact in a negative way with the federal officers, which is crazy, and they’re not going to actually do that. Nonetheless, all of these different discussion points are barreling us closer and closer to this crazy thing. And you know what? I’ll say one other thing about this before we take our first break. I think it’s really interesting. And I was watching a bunch of the talking head, mainstream news media, liberal media, whatever you want to call it, political shows over the weekend. But so many of them want to do a touchdown dance about the polls that say Americans don’t care about Greenland. I promise this is going to connect to the other topic. But there’s a lot out there right now. where people are trying to say Trump is overly focused on Greenland and wants to buy it or take it over, which I think more buy it is the approach he’d like to go, and the tariffs are part of that equation now. But nonetheless, a lot of mainstream media wants you to know that this means that Trump is failing the American people and failing his supporters simply because he’s thinking about Greenland. My response usually to that, well, yeah, I personally would love for us to not be talking so much about Greenland. I would love for Trump to put that on the back burner to a certain degree. At the same time, like you can do two things at once. I’ve said this before. You can try to better our economy. which is something I think Trump has been doing since he got into office, while also focusing on whether or not people are utilizing a place like Greenland to potentially put up versions of shop, you know, versions of China’s going to have some infrastructure here and there, maybe utilize sort of technology things or whatnot to potentially be a threat to us down the road. Russia is going to leverage its relationship somehow to, the way that they were doing with Venezuela. There’s things that could happen that we are trying to prevent. And I know Scott Besant, the Treasury Secretary, was on television talking about exactly that, how you’re trying to prevent something by being more proactive about But I don’t even really need to defend it because to be honest, it’s just so odd to watch media seem as though they’re celebrating a very, you know, I think hollow wind in talking about Trump’s focus on Greenland and not talk about the other stuff going on in society where in order to have the same opinion as many of their crazy liberal viewers, they have to just ignore facts. You have to ignore reality to say many of the things that the people on one side of the aisle are saying right now. So instead of that, you focus on whether or not it’s a good idea to talk about the safety of our country beyond the borders of our country. All right, we’ll take a break. A lot to get to, a lot of fun, I promise, on a holiday to be had. Craig Collins filling in on The Dana Show.

And now all of the news you would probably miss. It’s time for Dana’s quick five.
SPEAKER 23 :
That’s right. It’s time for a quick five on the Dana Show. D. Lash, Dana Lash Radio on X on Twitter. Great ways to stay connected to her. Aerobic exercise makes the brain younger. We just don’t know why. Scientists have shown time and again the value of doing some exercise, especially aerobic exercise, as I said, mostly because it helps you think. You think better. You’re younger in your brain is the way that they say it in the story. But I don’t know. You can say it any way you want. nonetheless what i find so funny about this is we just going to continue to raise our hands in the air and be like it does it we don’t know why we don’t really care i just go ahead and do some aerobic exercise and enjoy the sweet sweet benefits of it and that’s fine with me other things out there trump plans to use an executive order to keep the army navy game exclusive blocking any sort of playoff football from overlapping with it i think this is awesome I think this is awesome on a And at times, either of the two teams can be ranked inside the top 25. But mostly, it’s just a really nice, long-running tradition that matters in our country. The Army-Navy game is one of our greatest American traditions. That’s what Trump said on Truth Social. Unmatched patriotism, courage, and honor. It deserves to have its own day. I agree wholeheartedly, sir. And I’m glad that you actually care about something like that. These are things that I enjoy a lot when he talks about and then uses his authority to actually intervene in. in some way. More than 60% of Americans are using AI. This isn’t just at work. This is just in general. But six out of 10 adults have said that over the last year, they’ve used AI to do something, whether it’s just ask questions and figure things out or actually do maybe schoolwork or even work at your job. Here’s the other thing that’s weird about this. It’s caused people to want to have grandma hobbies. which is what they’re calling them, which is the exact opposite of using AI. Anyone who embraces technology also wants to find a way to get away from it as much as possible. And this could be anything. This is writing handwritten letters to people, handmade crafts like watercolors or origami. Knitting is becoming popular with some people, definitely not with me. Film, photography, listening to music on vinyl, all things that the young kids think they’re doing that’s original. That is the opposite of, say, the artificial intelligence stuff that is so prominent in our society now. And then finally, one last story that’s kind of crazy. A delivery drone, so nothing that involved a human, but just a drone, decided to stop on a train track while delivering, I think, Uber Eats food. This is in Miami, Florida. The drone eventually got destroyed by a train because that’s usually what happens when you have a thing just stop on a train track for no reason whatsoever. Yeah. But people are asking questions now. They’re wondering if the drone did this on purpose, if it just wanted to stop delivering Uber Eats food, or what else could be at play here. And I think there even is audio. I don’t know how valuable this audio is to play on the radio. But darn it, let’s go ahead and do it. Essentially, I think a dog is trying to bark and give the drone a heads up that it shouldn’t be in the way of the train track, and it doesn’t care, and it gets destroyed. The dog is fine, by the way. I don’t know why that audio sounds like the dog got hurt somehow, but if I play it again, there’s like a at the end of that for some odd reason, but it’s just a drone getting destroyed and a dog being like, ah, but no. Again, the dog is fine. I don’t know why that audio went viral the way it did. It makes it sound like something else happened. But nonetheless, yeah, the dog trying to help the robot. Nobody won in that fight. Well, the train, I guess, won in that fight because it’s going to win nine or ten times out of ten when doing that sort of thing. But this is why the robot uprising is largely exaggerated, I think, because every so often we’ll see a terrible thing happen where self-driving cars just stop in the middle of the road or an Uber Eats drone is just like, I’ve had enough. I’m done. Go ahead and take me now as far as the train goes. So that’s out there for you to see if you want to go watch the video, which is, in fact, better than the audio. All right. Quick break. A lot coming up. Craig Collins filling in on the Dana show.
SPEAKER 19 :
The folks who helped make the program possible, it is the folks over at Human, the company behind the Super Beats hard chews. They have their turmeric chews. If you have not checked these out, you definitely need to, and you can go to Sam’s Club and get your bag. By the way, the bags have changed a little bit. So they have… Some bold new packaging coming out. It’s an all red bag and it’s going to be for a period of time on the shelf with the old packaging. The old packaging is white with red lettering. This is a red bag. So it’s the same formula, the same product. It’s just in a new designed package. That’s it. And you can get it at Sam’s Club. Now, the turmeric that they use, it’s a standout form of turmeric. And it delivers the equivalent antioxidant support of what you would find in a much larger amount of standard turmeric extract. So the benefits are really convenient. And they use a clinically studied turmeric curcumin complex that helps solve the issue of absorbability. They use a highly absorbable form. So you can get the best benefits of this turmeric. It tastes like a lightly orange citrus flavor. It’s a chew. It’s a little bit smaller than a Starburst. Really chewy. Very easy to take. Very good. No additives. No added sugar at all either. You’re getting powerful antioxidant support in a format that fits effortlessly into your daily routine. So kick off the new year right and get your turmeric chews from the company Human at Sam’s Club. Go and get your turmeric chews. Remember, two different packagings out now. They’re going to all red. Pick your bag up today.

SPEAKER 23 :
That’s right. Check out the Dana Show podcast. Also, DLash, DanaLashRadio, and X on Twitter are great ways to stay connected to her and everything going on with this show. My name is Craig Collins, thrilled to be in with you for the day. Let’s do this. An investigation will now happen, a federal investigation, after the attack on a Christian church in Minneapolis. This is because people believe that the pastor was somehow working for ICE or something. I don’t know. But I have an update first on the ridiculousness of this story and the fact that there will actually be an investigation into it and how Tim Walz and others essentially are just letting their state completely fall apart and doing everything they can to circumvent the actual appropriate power of the federal government and not just the current president of the United States, but in this case, ICE agents and what they are allowed to do when removing people who are not legally allowed to be in this country. But here’s part of that audio.
SPEAKER 02 :
Talking about what happened at this church in St. Paul, this shows the degree to which these protests have expanded in Minneapolis, and this particular incident is now triggering a federal investigation. A group of protesters stormed and disrupted a Sunday church service because of one of the pastor’s possible connections to ICE. The US Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights announced there would be a federal probe over this, writing this, on x the civil rights division is investigating the potential violations of the federal face act by these people desecrating a house of worship and interfering with christian worshipers the white house meantime is considering a federal troop deployment to minnesota with 1500 troops now on standby president trump has raised the possibility of invoking the insurrection act if the violent protests there continue
SPEAKER 23 :
He actually has said both things. He said that he doesn’t intend to use it. And then he’s also raised the idea that it could be something that can be a catalyst to fixing the problem if need be. But again, how unsurprising in some way, at least this is my own opinion of this, that you have a demonstration that happens. Basically, a mob attacks a church because that is one of the enemies. The Christians, Catholics, church in general, it happens to be one of the bad guys, quote unquote, to the people that are so radically on one side of the political aisle. But beyond that, too, is the conversation about just how much encouragement Mayor Fry or Governor Walz or everyone has been giving the crazy protesters in Minnesota to keep doing what they’re doing. You have flashback after flashback if we want to play that game of either Walls himself or Fry essentially encouraging people to do terrible things. Walls, I think, said this weeks ago as he’s lost his mind and so many people have lost their mind about how important it is for the people in Minnesota to stand up. And Fry had said things about how local law enforcement was going to fight ICE, which made no sense. But here’s one of those clips.
SPEAKER 16 :
When things looked really bleak, it was Minnesota’s first that held that line for the nation on that July 3rd, 1863. And I think now we may be in that moment.
SPEAKER 23 :
It’s insane. Insane, the things that are being said right now by this man and by anyone else as far as any of those conversations go and what they think this compares to. Comparing it to the Battle of Gettysburg or anything else is just full-on nuts. It’s full-on crazy, and yet that’s how these people are behaving. And the reason this matters, at least the reason I’ll tell you this matters, is it encourages those who are in the street doing the crazy stuff, being morons, to think that they’re on the righteous side of the discussion. And they’re not. They’re far from it as far as a righteous conversation goes. They’re disrupting the legal operation of a federal agency and federal law enforcement that are just doing their job. And you know another crazy flashback that’s out there that’s been making the rounds a lot recently? It’s a CNN ride-along with ICE. This happened in, I think, 2016, and it shows how much more supportive media had been. And I know this went viral a few days ago, but it still seems to be valuable to talk about it now. But how much more supportive media had been to ICE until Trump was involved. And it’s just it’s crazy to think about how how much this discussion has changed, much because the politicians in charge think it’s going to help them win a midterm election more than anything else. But here I’ll play a little bit of this audio that went viral from 2016 and an ICE ride along with CNN, where CNN is saying things like ICE’s purpose is to focus on criminals and make communities safer. Attack one, guys.
SPEAKER 08 :
An immigration and customs enforcement team gears up for another long day, pursuing undocumented immigrants who have been convicted of crimes in the U.S. Police agents mistakenly arrest the target’s brother.
SPEAKER 03 :
In the process of talking to him in the vehicle, he then said, oh, no, I’m actually so-and-so. Who are you looking for is over here, this other address. He led us to that address, and we were able to actually arrest the individual.
SPEAKER 23 :
It’s great. You know what? I’ll stop right there because it’s now just going to be a bunch of on-the-scenes stuff. But they go on to even say in that audio that ICE’s purpose to focus on criminals and make communities safer and taking out the criminals who are on our streets is a good thing. CNN’s supportive of ICE just a short time ago. just a few years ago before president Trump was at all involved. Um, when people ask you what Trump derangement syndrome is, this is what that is. Uh, this is the kind of thing where you have people that are just crazy, uh, to a degree that, that hopefully not many of us get to, uh, that are anti anything and everything that they think falls in the orbit of one individual. I, even if it’s stuff that if you like, there’s all these Biden clips that I know you’ve probably at this point, uh, heard some of them. They go viral where a former Senator Biden disagrees with many of the things that President Biden did or whoever was in control, the auto pen did. Well, he was in office because of how radical that side has gotten. I want to play one other piece of audio. This is another discussion about ICE operations in Memphis and in Minneapolis. This was on Fox, too. And this was a senator talking about Bill Hagerty talking about some of the craziness and some of the obvious problems when you have a murder per capita of a certain amount in Memphis. And then you have people out there in politics screaming and yelling that somehow fixing this is is bad. But if you dramatically change some information or some data because you’re removing people who are here illegally that are also doing other bad things, you wind up having a valuable argument as to why you’re doing what you’re doing. If murder rates go down is the way I’m trying to say this, then you can point to that and be like, look, what we’re doing is a good thing. Only if media decides that they’re going to discuss this and not just willfully ignore it, which is what they’re doing now. Here we go.
SPEAKER 15 :
The contrast couldn’t be more stark, Maria. You see what happens when you’ve got a local mayor in Minneapolis, Tim Walz, governor of Minnesota, encouraging citizens to resist federal authorities, to not cooperate. And what you have is bedlam in the streets. You have citizens driving into ICE agents. You have non-citizens, people here illegally, trying to attack ICE agents. And you have somehow these protesters advocating for the illegal people here, the ones that are criminals. You heard Todd Lyons. You had a great interview with Todd earlier. The 70% of these people that they’re arresting are criminals. And now the job has become much more difficult in places like Minneapolis. Look at what happened in my home state of Memphis. I began working with the local mayor back in 2024. Governor Lee, a Republican, stepping up here in Tennessee, cooperating. Local leadership in Memphis cooperating. And what’s happened? We’ve arrested over 5,000 criminals on the streets of Memphis. Memphis had become, on a per capita basis, the murder capital of America in 2023. And that has changed dramatically. And it’s all because… Good!
SPEAKER 23 :
That’s a great thing, as I said again. These are the kind of things that we should talk about and we should point to. Actually, the amount of violent crime in our cities has gone down throughout the country. And what could that possibly be? What could the reason be? If I say it out loud, I’m racist. Because even if removing people who are here illegally, no matter who they are and what country they came from, winds up benefiting us in a lot of ways. Just saying that out loud means I have to hate somebody and I have to be calling somebody a criminal. The only people I’m actually saying are committing crimes are criminals. Oh, there we go. Criminals, people who are doing a bad stuff and being arrested for it and then being removed from our streets and making them safer. That is simply another fact that people refuse to acknowledge during this discussion. All right. One last thing. I’ll play this audio, too, and then we’ll take a break. This is Treasury Secretary Scott Besant having a conversation with mainstream media, meet the press, about Greenland, about NATO, about all of that, and pointing to the reasons why this isn’t a crazy, terrible, horrible idea that Trump has come up with. that there is a basis for needing to make sure that we’re protected from bad actors wielding power in places like Greenland and how much money we’ve spent to do that and how little money anyone else has spent to do that. This is a… Pretty good demonstration of how there is actually value to the conversation, even if a lot of Americans, I’ll admit, a lot of Americans don’t see it right now. A lot of Americans are focused on here at home, and they do not care so much about what’s going on beyond our country, even though some of these things would essentially protect us exactly the same as cleaning up the streets inside our country does. But here’s Besson.
SPEAKER 01 :
Let’s look back. Denmark has a terrible history with Greenlanders. There was forced sterilizations up until the 80s or the 90s. So all of a sudden, now that the U.S. has expressed an interest, there is this new interest. And again, the United States needs to be in control to prevent a war and that we do not want to get dragged into someone else’s war.
SPEAKER 09 :
Well, but this is about the United States relationship with its allies, NATO allies, again, reacting with alarm. Their warning that this move to annex Greenland could, in fact, destroy NATO. So let me just put this to you bluntly. Is Greenland or NATO more essential to the United States national security?
SPEAKER 23 :
Here’s what’s interesting about this question, by the way. A lot of people know what the answer should be and what the answer oftentimes is. And this is one of those moments where you actually hear what the answer should be. You hear the thing that most of us do know if you pay attention to stuff like this and how valuable something sounds, but then the reality of it isn’t actually as important as it sounds because of what we’re doing and because of how many people know that they need us a whole lot more than we need them.
SPEAKER 01 :
Quote, chris that’s obviously a false choice that you know that that’s that’s a maximum perspective of european leaders uh the european leaders will come around and they will understand that they need to be under the u.s security umbrella what what would happen in ukraine that if the u.s pulled its support out the whole thing would collapse that the u.s christian to be clear Since 1980, the U.S. has spent U.S. military spending versus NATO military spending. We have spent 22 trillion more dollars than the Europeans have. That we are peace through strength. And the Europeans now are only trying to play catch up. And that is only through President Trump. President Trump believes in NATO, but he does not believe in the American people being dragged in.
SPEAKER 23 :
Yeah. We also don’t believe in the American people paying all of the bill all the time, which is what we do everywhere. And we do in this situation. But again, I love the way that that said is it’s a false either or. But nonetheless, if push comes to shove, Europe’s going to cave because they need us a whole lot more than we need them. That is abundantly true. A quick break. A lot more. Craig Collins filling in on the Dana show.

SPEAKER 23 :
This is the Dana Show. My name is Craig Collins filling in. Thrilled to be with you. A bunch of stuff out there to talk about. TSA may start charging money to people to get through their security if you don’t bring along a real ID or a passport. 18 bucks is one of the fees that’s been thrown around. Also, 45 is, I think, the number that it could increase to as of next month. If you show up and you don’t have the right paperwork, according to the TSA, to get through security, this is insane. This is the kind of thing that will make travel even worse. Obviously, it’s already not great. And so to add another fee and to make it even crazier can only go poorly. It can’t possibly go well. And yet that is a real conversation being had by so many people. I do have a real ID. I have one because when I moved to Texas, it was already the thing you got. And so when we changed our ID over from Illinois to Texas, which I’m so happy, by the way, I’ll just throw this out there, that I moved from one state to the other. It is a tremendously good decision, and I highly, highly recommend people living in crazy, very liberal states like Illinois look at places like Texas and Florida as places you should probably move and live We almost lived in Florida, too, by the way. It was an either or for a bit there. And then it came down to just deciding to be where we are now instead of anywhere else. But I’ll tell you that it’s a great call and more people should make it. And I have a real ID accidentally because of that. But nonetheless, I do think this is a horrible decision of the TSA to start throwing a $45 bill in people’s faces because things are not going to go well. They’re going to go poorly yet again for all involved. And that’s the last thing we need, especially right now. Another thing out there I saw that I thought was interesting. Scientists are preparing to simulate human brains on supercomputers. Every time I do a story where I talk about how the AI thing is not happening as much as we thought it was, essentially, and I did a story earlier in the show where a delivery drone just stopped on train tracks and then got destroyed. Every so often you see the, okay, Terminator 2 isn’t going to happen. The robots aren’t uprising as much as we thought they were. Every time I see one of those, you also see a story like this, which is terrible and horrible. The last thing I want AI to do is to start to mimic the human brain and then maybe think it’s alive and then do other horrible things. We know this game. We know how this is played. So this really seems inappropriate to mess around more and more and hope that nothing bad happens. But that’s what this feels like to me. This feels like the next step in the inevitable. Yeah, we could have seen this coming and we didn’t as far as when the robots take over. Other things out there, just quickly before we take a break. I saw a story about a McDonald’s that rejected a, I think, wrestling team from being able to eat inside its restaurant. A video went viral. There’s all kinds of questions about why it happened and was racism or something involved. And without getting too in the weeds of that discussion… I just think it’s so interesting that right now you have viral story after viral story of this business will refuse service to these people, whether it’s ICE agents or whatever it might be. It’s so weird how society has devolved so much in such a, I don’t know if it’s a short amount of time or not, that more and more businesses are okay having a stance as crazy as this, as insane as, you know, we don’t serve you, you get out of here, you don’t belong as part of our group because of how different it was than just a few years ago when that would be the end of a business. And now more and more, at least franchise owners, if not the company that owns the entirety of the organization, are totally cool with political stances that make no sense or all kinds of stances that make no sense. Quick break. A lot more Craig Collins filling in on the Dana show.
SPEAKER 19 :
Burn a gun. This is what I’m talking about. You know, like you have local private property municipal restrictions that disarm you and they want to leave you to be nothing but a defenseless statistic for some predator that they are aiding and abetting by refusing to get these people off the streets. So what do you do to protect yourself when you’re told that you can’t carry your gun? I always carry and I really try to avoid places where I cannot bring my gun. It’s only when I absolutely have to go somewhere that I professional for a professional excursion that I can’t get out of. That’s the only time when I, you know, usually I try to arrange to have armed security, but not every and then I don’t go. But not everybody can do what I do. They can’t be like, oh, can you pay for my armed security if I can’t exercise my Second Amendment rights? You need to have an option to protect yourself. And this also goes for college kids who live alone, who walk to school, walk to campus. You know, I my kids have friends where they’re females and they have five o’clock classes. Sun sets at like six o’clock. They’re walking back to the car park at night. It’s dangerous. This is where you need a burner gun. Burner shoots chemical irritant projectiles that can deter threats from up to 50 feet away. They have different models. I’m not talking about any of them. The burner compact launcher is the one you need to look at. It’s CL for short. Roughly the size of an iPhone. Zero recoil. Easy target acquisition. And here’s the kicker. No permits. No background checks. You order the thing online and it sends right to your front door. Compared to a stun gun that’s got one or two rounds, the Burna gun, the Burna CL, has a 15-round shot capacity per cartridge. Give yourself a chance. Have a diverse weapons cache so that you are covered in any situation, every possibility is thought of. Visit Burna.com slash Dana. B-Y-R-N-A. Get your Burna CL, the compact launcher, today. This is the Dana show. Uh, my name is Craig Collins filling in a thrill to be with you. A D lash Dana lash radio on X on Twitter are great ways to stay connected to her at radio Craig C. And for some reason you want to help me get to a thousand followers on social media. And then I promised to start doing stuff. I have so few people on Twitter that I, or X, I do almost nothing there other than find news stories. But if that starts to grow for some reason, mostly because of filling shifts on the show, I promise I’ll do more things at some point. All right. I want to play a piece of audio real quick. And then we’re going to talk about poll numbers, which I don’t want to talk about, which I find tremendously stupid. And I’ll explain to you why I think polls are overrated in our society, especially in the world of politics. But first, this is this is more interesting to me. This is leaked audio of Caroline Levitt threatening CBS News. At least that’s the way that some are talking about it on social media. And I want you to hear what the threat is. Because to me, more important than any language… that might be exchanged between the White House press secretary and any press organization is the context of what they’re discussing and what the press secretary is asking for. It’s amazing to watch the left or watch people in media places shape this as anything other than transparency. I’ll explain why in a second, but first, and it might be somewhat hard to hear the audio because it’s leaked. It’s not necessarily being had where someone knows the microphone is directly in their face kind of thing. But here we go.
SPEAKER 03 :
Make sure you guys don’t cut the tape.
SPEAKER 07 :
Make sure the interview is out in full. Yeah, we’re doing it. He said if it’s not out in full, we’ll shoot your ass off.
SPEAKER 23 :
OK, hold on. I want to stop right there. So if you didn’t hear it, it says that if you don’t air an interview in full, if you don’t, you know, edit, if you do editing things that we don’t like and you don’t just play it from beginning to end, we’ll sue you, which Trump has had success doing. Now, a lot of people in certain places are saying, how dare this government threaten media and try to tell it what to do or how to do stuff. But think about the context of the discussion. The press secretary is asking a news outlet to play the entirety of an interview, not portions of it that might be suggestively edited. How can you possibly say that if someone sits down to do an interview with whatever the news organization is and then simply wants it played in full, that that is the opposite of what the American people deserve or should have? How can you say that this is actually fighting the transparency of news media? It’s insane to me. It’d be like telling someone that I don’t want the full video of something that happened. I only want portions of it that you get to, you know, curate for me because the full version is going to be too hard for my dumb brain to figure out. That’s essentially what they say again and again when they have these conversations, when they do this sort of stuff. If you want to sit down with the president, if he doesn’t answer questions the way you want him to, and then you want to edit the, you know, video to say and do things that it doesn’t say and do, you’re the dishonest people, not the other side. But there is actually pushback right now calling for the White House to stand down and stop doing things like threaten legal action if people misrepresent the positions of either side of the political aisle via news editing. It’s crazy. I don’t know how you can advocate for editing and feel like you’re actually the side that wants the truth to be out there. The best way to have the truth out there is to have no filter and we discuss among ourselves what we think is right and wrong. All right, I want to move on to another thing. I saw this over the weekend. CBS put a bunch of news polls out with YouGov saying all kinds of things. One of the biggest takeaways is the president is too focused on things beyond our country. You know, foreign things, whether it’s taking Greenland, for example. That’s one of the ones where most Americans agree that we don’t know why he’s talking about that or doing that. And I actually think there is reason behind it. But nonetheless, I digress. Piece after piece of this poll and how it was used on television seemed to indicate that the American people are looking for an America first policy that Trump ran on. They don’t think he’s providing right now. And more and more people are disapproving of the president than in the past. That is what all the poll data says. Here’s the problem with this stuff. And you know this, and I know this. By and large, most of these polls have always misrepresented how people feel about Trump as the president to begin with. It actually always undercuts where he really is with the American people. When they think that elections are going to be close, and then he wins the popular vote, and he wins all kinds of other things, I think it demonstrates how these polls often just simply get it wrong. And I don’t know if that’s the bias within the poll itself, if it’s just dishonest in certain ways, which many polls are, or if the truth is that people just say different things than how they actually feel. They get called on the phone, they get asked a question, they say something, and then in reality they feel totally different about it. So these polls are skewed for another reason. But I really think that none of this is going to matter. I know the midterm election is the focus here, and any of the political pundit people out there saying, Well, this causes me to be worried. This causes me to be concerned that I think that the Republicans are going to lose the midterm election because this poll number right here and this poll data. I don’t think it’s that simple. I think really what’s happening, by and large, is a desire for media to question the behavior of the president and for the conservative party to give in in some way, shape, or form, because I think that motivates its own people to just not show up and vote. I think that’s really the end goal, that the Democrats are going to show up and vote as they always do in mass numbers when they don’t have power and they’re going to try to flip the House or the Senate, as oftentimes we see. The person who’s in the office of president, whatever political party it is, very often you see the House or the Senate are both aflip because of it. This is a very common practice. And when you look at any of this poll data, the most interesting thing for me, the biggest takeaway is that Republicans are overwhelmingly supportive of President Trump, still 90 something percent. people support most of what’s happening, even support things happening that the rest of media or the rest of the crazy people out there don’t like or they don’t support or they hate in some shape or form. And so to me, I feel like the actual goal or the value in this discussion is continuing to highlight how many people are actually happy with the results of this president and the likelihood that I think the economy is going to a better place, that things will get better financially for many of us. I think that that would be good. I think that you need to this is my own opinion, find a way to motivate the side of the aisle that thinks they’re winning. And you don’t do that by giving in to the narrative of the left. And I think a lot of this does that. A lot of these discussion points do it because they just gloss over the fact that Republicans are still overwhelmingly happy with what’s going on. And that’s what you really need to keep power in the Senate, keep power in the House, keep power anywhere, is motivate a whole lot of people on the winning side of the aisle that you should go out and keep voting. that you shouldn’t take this one off or skip this one because things are good enough, because they could easily get better. And one last time, and I’ll just say this before I move on to anything else, when it comes to specifically the conversation about Greenland or Venezuela or any of these countries that are in our orbit, that are in our hemisphere, is the better way to say it, that could potentially cause a threat to us if we don’t do more to protect ourselves in one way or another. However that might be, disrupting the oil trade that exists between Venezuela and Russia and China was a good thing. Removing Maduro was a good thing. These are good things. And then also having a way to have a more significant influence in Greenland All of these things could matter and could wind up being part of the reason that, say, our economy gets better. Say that the oil trade industry does better and better throughout the funneling of some of these things through the United States. And I’m not saying that that’s the goal, that by and large, the whole reason you do this over here or do that over there is just because we want oil. But I’m not pretending it’s not a caveat that could have value within this discussion, which I think a lot of people do. But nonetheless, as all these pieces fall together and all the puzzle starts to play itself out, I wonder when you’re supposed to highlight that the roadmap or the, you know, end result of all this might actually look quite a bit better than people are saying it does. And that right now, a month after the holiday season, when a whole lot of Americans have a bunch of money on credit cards that they probably shouldn’t have spent, even though they wanted to treat their family well, that all of that is part of the reason that people are maybe more dissatisfied than, say, they’ll be in March, April, May, and then toward the actual end part of the midterm elections. when we actually get closer to it, people might be much more satisfied with the economy. We will see, but I just think these poll numbers are always so overinflated, overblown, and overdiscussed, and it’s sort of ridiculous, and especially when your side is winning. I think there’s a chance that there’s people that have more apathy than they should have, and that’s why we see things flip so often. All right, one last discussion, and then we’ll take a break. I just found this interesting. The guy who threatened to pipe bomb the vice president when he was at Disneyland, this happened over a year ago. He is obviously in quite a bit of trouble. The guy in Anaheim is now in the unhappiest place on earth, a federal prison, which I thought was funny. But a little piece of this story came out that people are probably going to miss. And I just thought it was interesting. The guy’s email, the dude who threatened to pipe bomb the vice president again, I got caught and is likely to be in jail for quite some time. Marco Antonio Agayo is the guy’s name, 22. His email is dumblittleboy28 at gmail.com. That’s the real pipe threat guy’s email address. dumblittleboy28 at gmail.com. He is, in fact, a dumb guy that is uniquely odd as an email address. And I just thought it was an interesting thing to point out that people are probably going to miss. This guy is a piece of crap who also seems to think of himself as lowly as the rest of us should think of him as he’s a dumb little boy. All right, quick break. A lot more. Craig Collins filling in on the Dana Show.
SPEAKER 24 :
And now, all of the news you would probably miss. It’s time for Dana’s Quick Five.
SPEAKER 23 :
That’s right. It’s time for a quick five on the Dana Show. Dean Lash, Dana Lash Radio on X on Twitter. Great ways to stay connected. First, IU will be playing Miami tonight in the college football national championship game. IU has a chance to be the first Indiana State team not named Notre Dame to win a national championship. and also a team that at one point was thought of correctly as the absolute worst team in that level of competition in NCAA football that is now potentially going to be an undefeated champion if they can take care of business against Miami, which will happen actually in Florida. That feels unfair, but it is what it is. Not supposed to be a home game just sort of happening that way. Other things out there that I saw that I thought was interesting. There is a story about a gun-toting robot that has repelled Russian troops for six weeks. This is something that the Ukrainian government might have leaked out. But a, quote, real Terminator-esque robot that hasn’t even taken a single bullet, but has prevented Vladimir Putin’s troops from invading a certain part of Ukraine, seems to be the kind of thing they need more of. There it was the third Army Corps secret weapon, according to some stories that have come out there. And it is just essentially what looks like a fancy camera and some Wi-Fi equipment attached to a machine gun that is doing a whole lot of good. And it actually was capable of rolling around. So it’s, you know, sort of drone-esque in how it moves around. But nonetheless, a robot that can just defend itself or defend an area, this is the type of thing you will see more and more and probably is happening more and more than we even know in the world of conflict throughout the world. A fat berg the size of four buses likely birthed, quote, poo balls that closed Sydney beaches. This is a story that when I read the headline, I wished I hadn’t read anything about this. And if you just had a bunch of questions based on the things I said into a microphone, I can help you. The Fatberg is a congealed system of fat, oil, grease, and other stuff that comes out of sewage that you don’t necessarily want. But it was close to some Sydney beaches in Australia. This feels like the kind of thing they don’t need at all there or anywhere. And then it broke apart into little pieces that people were describing as disgusting, smelling, looking poo balls. I’m a child. I’m a child for finding this funny. That is beyond gross. I would feel like any beach that had been shut down because of poo balls is the kind of place that I would never, ever go. And if I happen to be on vacation in that area when this occurred, it’s the kind of thing that I will tell people as I never, ever make a return trip plan for that area. But anyway, a giant fatberg broke up into pieces and is now being cleaned off of the beaches in parts of Sydney. Yay. This also feels like the kind of thing that happens on my vacation or on vacations for people who are just unlucky in these worlds, because this does absolutely seem to me to be the sort of thing that would be easy to, you know, not predict, but then have definitely ruined your five days off. All right. One other thing that I saw out there that I thought was interesting. An NFL player was not fined for some anti-Israel slogans that wound up being a part of the playoff games over the weekend. Here’s the reason I care about this story. I’m not going to name the player because I think they want some sort of publicity for what they did and the NFL’s decision not to fine them, which to me is uniquely stupid. I know you can figure out who it is. I don’t care. I don’t want to even name them. But the thing that matters so much to me is the NFL once again shows how weak it can be. It finds other people in other situations when the thing they’re doing or saying feels like it’s against the liberal version of narrative that they’re okay with. But when it’s this sort of thing, when it’s an anti-Israel slogan somewhere, they decide, ah, that’s fine. Let’s leave that guy alone. Let’s not fine anybody for this. Let’s go ahead and let them speak their mind, whatever their mind is. This is why these sports at times lose fans. Yes, the NFL is still abundantly popular here in this country, but this threatens that popularity every time you make a decision like this. Quick break. A lot more. Craig Collins filling in on the Dana Show.
SPEAKER 17 :
Brighten up your timely news consumption with a Dana Show podcast, where every update comes with a little dash of Not So Serious on YouTube, Apple, or wherever you get your podcasts.
SPEAKER 23 :
This is The Dana Show. My name is Craig Collins filling in. Thrilled to be with you. I’m going to talk about the texts. I don’t know if people who’ve been listening to the show thought, wow, Craig’s going a while without mentioning the texts heard around the world. These are alleged leaked texts between President Donald Trump and the leaders of Norway saying that the U.S. isn’t so worried about some things the way they should be, at least according to everyone that’s not us, and instead really would like to have Greenland. This is a simple paraphrasing of it. I’m going to play the Fox News report on it, too, as they reported on these leaked texts and what they mean. And here’s the thing. I want to promise something going into this topic. I do not defend the current president of the United States because I’m some Trump fanboy. And I don’t know why that matters to me that people know that. Not that I dislike a lot of the things Trump has done this time in office. I don’t. But this isn’t because of some weird loyalty that I feel like I have to have to the current president. But I often see where the logic is in the crazy or what a lot of mainstream media will represent as crazy. So I can’t help but wind up sounding defensive on a wide variety of these topics. And I kind of like that position, too. I’ll be honest about this because so few people do it. There’s not a whole lot of people out there that take this approach to some of these stories, especially not even the Fox News of the world and whatnot. But here here’s the way they reported on some texts that appear to be between our president and another world leader. And they seem to be upset about him not getting the Nobel Peace Prize. That’s the very easy version of discussing it. Here we go.
SPEAKER 05 :
We obtained some text messages between the president of Norway and President Trump on Sunday. The prime minister of Norway, excuse me, writes, Dear Mr. President, dear Donald, we believe we all should work to take this down and de-escalate. So much is happening around us where we need to stand together we are proposing a call with you later today now trump responds sort of with a jab here harris writes dear jonas considering your country decided not to give me the nobel peace prize for having stopped eight wars plus i no longer feel an obligation to think purely of peace although it will always be predominant but can now think about what is good and proper for the united states of america and he goes on to say the world is not secure of Greenland.
SPEAKER 23 :
And he signs it President DJT. By the way, they skipped a part in the middle there, which I could read you. I don’t know if it matters. But anyway, obviously this is being covered by most of media and liberal media exactly the way you think it is. That Trump is upset. He’s personally offended that he wasn’t given a Nobel Peace Prize. And for that reason and that reason alone, he wants to invade and take over Greenland. That’s the way they’re discussing it. Now, here’s what actually matters about this, at least to me. No matter how egregious or terrible or awful this tax exchange looks between another world leader and between our president to whoever out there is judging it, It’s actually just communication back and forth and leveraging of a position in order to try to get what you want. It’s not actually us invading Greenland. That part hasn’t happened yet. But if you pay attention to most liberal media, you’d think it had by the way that they discuss this and how terrible this is or whatever this might be. Now, I’ll say something else, and this is to demonstrate that I’m not just bending the knee for the sake of bending it. Does this mean that I think this was a good idea? No, I don’t think that. If I was someone advising the current president of the United States, and I saw him punching out this text message that he was going to fire off to another world leader, I might have asked him to spruce up the language a little bit differently. He probably wouldn’t have listened to me, but I might have gone that road. But nonetheless, I think that Trump wants the world to think that he is serious about his desire to take Greenland, so they give it to him. I think this is one of the art of the deal sort of things, however crazy it sounds. And actually, I’m going to use a ridiculous example, and I’m aware this is ridiculous, but I don’t care. I’m going to use it anyway to try to prove my point. My favorite part, I’m going to go to the world of television. My favorite part of lawyers on TV is how insane they sound. And Landman comes to mind just the other night, if anyone watched that show. But lawyers will barrel into rooms, say the most ridiculous stuff, threaten everybody, and walk out of the room and the character will have won something. People will be like, man, that was great. The thing you just did or the way you handled yourself was awesome. And I think that’s so interesting because that essentially lawyers can be celebrated for being the most insane person in the room because sometimes that toughness alone is what’s needed to win whatever the fight is and that everybody else will stand down if you seem like the craziest and angriest person in a room. I know this is just television. But I know that actually I’ve seen it happen in other places where lawyers have been asked to intervene in some sort of interaction between, say, businesses and whatnot. And the letters they send are incredibly strongly worded. They’re insane. The toughest person in the room oftentimes wins is one of these versions of thought that exists in our society. And I think this is Trump doing that. I don’t think he wanted this text to be all over media, although I also don’t think he really cared because now today a whole lot more media will be talking about whether or not the U.S. is serious about wanting Greenland and whether or not we think that Denmark is inefficient and being capable of protecting it from Russia and China and any sort of power that might harm us by being influential there. which of course they are, by the way. The other aspects of this that are true, and Trump’s not the first president to discuss this. Other presidents have thought that Greenland was a unique potential avenue for weakness for us and some bad actors in other parts of the world. So I just find it so fascinating that this will be the discussion and this is the way it will go. And again, I want to make sure my opinion on this or at least my position is is perfectly clear to everyone out there. I’m not saying this is the message I would send if I was the president. But again, if you’re going in the rules of being the craziest person in the room, sometimes get you what you want, especially when you’re also the most powerful person. and our country is the most powerful, people believing our president is willing to back his words with actions has benefited him multiple times. Whereas other leaders, you can think of Biden or anyone else, when they say the strongly worded thing, and everyone in the room knows that that’s not going to have any action following it, it’s just going to be words, they disregard it. Biden yells at Russia not to invade Ukraine. They do it anyway because they know that these are just simple words and nothing more. Sometimes you go even more in the direction of making the words as over the top as you can to try to demonstrate your willingness to do the other part. And actually, there’s one other thing interesting about this. Not necessarily connected, but at least a little bit to me. And this is some of the, I think, Axios reporting and others out there about the US standing down in some sort of strike against Iran. And one of the big reasons that that happened is that essentially Israel called us, Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister, called and said we can’t take whatever action militarily we were thinking about taking because Israel wasn’t ready to defend itself from the response attack that wouldn’t be aimed at us, it would be aimed at our ally. And for that reason, The U.S. is believed to have stood down when they actually had a plan in place last week. And there was a lot of moving parts that almost ended in a strike from the United States on, you know, people that Trump has threatened. Another country that Trump has threatened and said, stop shooting your protesters or we’re going to do something. I think that’s a really interesting caveat to that story, because some are going to say out there that Trump, you know, threatened and never intended to act. And others are going to say that, well, what actually happened was a convenient intervening by a, you know, other world leader that asked us to stand down, at least for now. So I think the biggest thing moving forward is to pay attention to that story and what inevitably happens. Will there eventually be some sort of military strike that the United States does as efficiently as the one we did to remove Maduro from Venezuela? I don’t know. But I will pay attention because those are the things that inevitably get you the stuff you want. And good or bad to many people here in this country, Trump very much wants control of Greenland and he thinks it’s good for us. And he’s not alone in thinking that a whole lot of other experts, other people, other world leaders, other American leaders have thought the exact same thing. He’s just someone who’s going about it quite a bit differently than others do. All right. One last thing that I want to discuss before. I take a break, and I just thought this was interesting. Governor Josh Shapiro has been putting crazier and crazier stuff out there. I’m not saying it’s not true. It’s just sort of ridiculous how crazy it is. In his new book that will be coming out about how he was vetted to potentially be the vice presidential candidate for Kamala Harris, he would have been a much better choice than ridiculous Governor Walz was, whose political career is now essentially over. But anyway, Shapiro said one of the things that happened was he was asked if he was a secret agent of the Israeli government by the Kamala Harris campaign. They were afraid that somehow, some way Shapiro, Josh Shapiro might actually be someone working for Israel and not necessarily for the United States. It’s crazy the way that happened. And it’s insane the way Shapiro said that he said, no, that’s not a thing. But these are the concerns that people had that inevitably made them choose Jazz Hands, Tampon Tim, and not actually Shapiro, who would have been a much more attractive candidate to many, many people in the middle, not the insane person they chose anyway. But I just think that’s amazing. And there’s been more and more of that. It’s been slowly leaking out how radical and ridiculous the Harris campaign was behind the scenes. And Shapiro is one of the people who’s leaking that stuff out because I think he’s trying to position himself as someone anti many things in his party as much as he is anti so many things on the opposing side of the aisle. But I just thought that was interesting that yet another piece of information that seems to show how ridiculous things got through that whole process, and how badly they did trying to vet one person as egregiously as they went, and then also allowing Tim Walz to be the person that gets the nomination or gets the role in running as the vice president, and then all that fraud comes out about him, fraud that people knew about for years, and essentially the end of his campaign. It shows how stupid… You know what? I’ll say it this way before I take a break. The politician, political strategist people actually are. They think they’re so smart. I listen to these people who talk about poll numbers and this data and that data all the time, and they think to themselves that they see things that no one else sees, and they can read the tea leaves of the American people better than anyone else can. And these are the morons that pick people like Tim Walz to be the vice presidential candidate and then have the craziness that’s occurred over the last year be the fallout of him getting a more high profile role in our society. These idiots know nothing. It feels kind of like when people talk about making a certain bet in sports or making a certain bet on Wall Street and how the experts know so much less than you think they know and are no real experts more so than anyone else is in guessing who’s going to win what. They have no idea. They’re all just throwing stuff on the wall and seeing what sticks. This feels like one of those cases where people probably backed by what they thought was a lot of incredible data made a horrible decision Not that I’m upset about that. I think that’s great for all involved, that they made as terrible of a decision as they did. But I just find it amusing. And it’s probably the beginning, excuse me, of a whole lot of this sort of stuff coming out. All right, quick break. A lot more. Craig Collins filling in on The Dana Show.
SPEAKER 24 :
It’s his life mission to make bad decisions. It’s time for Florida Man.
SPEAKER 23 :
Emus are native to Australia. They’re over six feet tall and they have talents. They have large giant claws they can attack you with. The emo wound up being captured by Florida deputies in the area. That’s got to stink to be a deputy who works in a place like Florida that occasionally gets a call like this. Like, hey, somebody let out their pet emu. Come again for me. What did you say? They let out an emu and it’s angry. and it’s in the street, and it’s doing terrible things. But they caught it, they brought it back home, and the emu is now safely back in its house with its owner that, for some reason, loves to have a large flightless bird in its backyard that just seems angry at the world. It reminds me of the tiny bird my wife and I got from the pet store that we had to return weeks after getting it because it hated us and attacked us constantly. We got a bird. We got a pet bird that my wife really wanted, and it was a horrible, horrible decision right before Christmas a couple years ago. And I still think about that occasionally, how much this bird hated us any time we let it out of its cage, and that that’s not the kind of thing I wanted in my home. Other Florida man stories, a TikTok challenge landed a guy in jail because he thought that he could spend the night in a Walmart. Apparently, this is a popular viral TikTok thing. So the Florida guy goes to Walmart, gets caught. They ask him why he’s trying to sleep there. And he goes, I don’t know, to get clicks, to get likes, to make people proud of me. I did not go the way he wanted. And that guy’s going to jail. And then finally, my favorite Florida men of the Florida stories that are out there today, a guy named Landon Morris. was caught doing donuts in a church parking lot. I have some of the ABC, or excuse me, this is NBC News, locally in Gulf Coast, Florida, in the Gulf Coast of Florida, that’s talking about this. So let’s go ahead and play on that.
SPEAKER 25 :
After he was caught doing donuts in a church parking lot, all to impress the girl he was with.
SPEAKER 11 :
The man’s Corvette tires were screeching at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Gulf Coast Boulevard in Englewood.
SPEAKER 23 :
Yeah, some immediate thoughts here. My first one is that if you’re driving around with a young woman who I guess admitted to the police that she asked him to do the donuts in his cool Corvette car and you pull into the parking lot of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Church, like that’s the place you’re going to impress her. And then you do the donuts there that you might have been able to pick another location. But it’s my favorite part of this story is that he’s doing the donuts there. A cop show up. There’s still smoke bellowing from the car. Things are crazy. And they’re like, hey, man, this isn’t legal. You’re not allowed to do this. By the way, one quick thought on this story. I know this isn’t actually in Miami, although it’s somewhat nearby the area from what I understand. It’s funny to think that a whole bunch of people from the Midwest are there to watch the national championship game. IU will be playing Miami tonight because part of me thinks this is someone from Indiana who did this. Donuts are wildly popular. in parts of the Midwest, especially when it snows and you can slide around in the vehicle. As somebody who at one point lived in Indiana myself, I know this firsthand. So part of me thinks it’s an IU fan that got arrested trying to impress somebody before the game and now they won’t be able to see it. None of the data supports that. I just think it anyway. Quick break. A lot more Craig Collins filling in on the Dana show. This is the Dana Show. My name is Craig Collins filling in for the day. Thrilled to be with you. A bunch of stuff out there to talk about. One of the biggest topics of conversation is probably the Insurrection Act and if the president should inevitably use it to allow federal law enforcement, in this case ICE, to do their legally allowed job. They are being disrupted again and again and again, mostly in Minnesota. But other places, it seems that politicians are trying to throw down the gauntlet and disrupt the activities of the federal government. Virginia comes to mind as one. Real quick, though, I want to play audio of a protest that… I believe is happening earlier today. It happened earlier today. Our radical anti-ice protesters stormed and took over a target in St. Paul. And then they started to sing things because these people wanted to be indoors at a target. And then I imagine hit the Starbucks occasionally. This is real. This is really if I didn’t make this with AI or something. This is the way they’re protesting in Minneapolis. I’m already good. I’m already good. When we get to the actual Insurrection Act, I think something really interesting is happening. I believe that people are setting traps for each other. That’s kind of how I see all this playing itself out. What I mean by that is I believe the president has been trying to set a trap for Democrats for a while now. And some of that trap is easy stuff. It’s stuff like showing how much better things can be in Washington, D.C. when you actually enforce laws and don’t pretend that laws don’t exist and don’t do horrible, terribly woke things like let people out of jail that probably should stay in jail. When liberal cities make bad decisions, bad things seem to happen in our society. And Trump cleaned it up. And then Democrats had to take the position that they were essentially pro-violence and crime. Because in order to defy Trump at any and all cost, he had to be that way. So I think this escalation between utilizing ICE and then actually potentially utilizing the military to allow ICE to do its job, all of it is designed by some on one side to be a trap, to show how much the other side doesn’t care at all about your safety about the a rightful application of federal law and yet the other side is using this is the same version of a trap and i want to make this as clear as i can to you i think what the left believes will happen is that because of all of their outright rejection of Trump and the authority that absolutely exists for the federal government and for these federal officers, that inevitably you’d have to use something like the Insurrection Act. There’s three sections to the act. Section 251, which I know I’m going to get in the weeds for a second on you, is the most typical way in which this act is used. That’s when a government or a statewide politician asks for help, that they need assistance, and the federal government sends an aid. And then essentially our military can act the same way that law enforcement does, something that they’re usually not allowed to do but can do in this instance. The other two sections, Section 252 and 253 of the Insurrection Act, they outline situations where our own government is fighting our federal government, essentially what we’re actually seeing. And in order for us to get to the place… where you’d have the legal authority to use the Insurrection Act and you wouldn’t lose some sort of court challenge to it. You have to have things like what’s happening in Virginia happen, where they reject any sort of legislation that says that they would cooperate with the federal government, which is what they’re doing now. or anything else that’s happening in the same orbit, in the same world, like what’s happening in Minnesota, where the mayor is asking his law enforcement to respond to ICE agents and fight them. That’s not something that I think law enforcement is one to do very often anywhere in the country, but it is the desire of the politicians that it happens. Walls even said, call 911 if you see an ICE agent somewhere around you, even if they’re not trying to arrest you. Just call 911 and try to get our police officers to respond to that situation, which is insane. But here’s what the left thinks they’re doing in creating that atmosphere. They think they’re furthering the narrative that Trump is a dictator. They would say that he uses some obscure act from years ago that’s not designed in the way that Trump is using it, even though Democrats have essentially pushed to the point where that’s the best way to protect ICE agents and to allow them to do their job would be to have more military capable of responding. I don’t think it’s what Trump wants. Let me say it that way, because that might not be clear. I think the president wants to live up to the offer to the American people to fix some of the things that are broken in our society. One of the most broken things, according to most Americans, just before the 2024 election was the lack of of a border and the amount of people who are here illegally that they call undocumented, whoever, but illegal immigrants illegally. that shouldn’t be in this country, that we’re getting all kinds of assistance that need to be removed from our country for a variety of reasons, not just because they’re dangerous, but essentially because they have no right to be here. That’s a big thing. A lot of people supported the president and his campaign to do that, and he is now doing the version that actually does fix the problem, not the version that claims you’re going to do stuff and then doesn’t actually do anything. And even though some poll numbers have seemed to say that some Americans think ICE has gone too far, although many of those Americans aren’t actually people who voted for Trump, it’s the people who hate Trump already that are just hating him more. But nonetheless, I think what’s interesting about all of this is essentially you have this world where Democrats are hoping more violence occurs. They seem happy about it. They seem happy to beg for it on the street while also claiming that they’re trying to tone down the atmosphere. They’re trying to cool things off, but they’re telling their own people to fight federal law enforcement, even if that law enforcement isn’t there for them. They want people in the street disrupting and doing crazy stuff or sitting inside a Target, which is just uniquely pathetic to me. And so I think that all of this continues to be this weird orbit or this weird atmosphere where if you can pay enough attention, where you can take enough steps out of whatever the most obvious things are that mainstream media is obsessing about and look at it a little bit deeper, you see how it’s essentially demonstrating how radical and crazy the left is and how little they actually want to protect their own people. They want to put people in harm’s way This is a question that Mayor Fry was asked several times by mainstream media outlets and said, no, of course I don’t want to do that. But they keep encouraging their people to be in harm’s way to potentially have more catalysts to, you know, essentially try to win an election. They’re basically begging you to put yourself in jeopardy so you might become a martyr to help them win a midterm election. It’s that disgusting. They care that little about their people and that much about political gamesmanship that this is occurring. And they blame all of it on Trump. Even though I do think the campaign promise of removing people who are here illegally is something a whole lot of Americans wanted a very short time ago. One last thing I do want to play. I find this interesting. even as media is telling you that a bunch of poll numbers out there are saying that Trump is doing worse and worse and people are no longer approving of him. Apparently, he has the Midas touch when it comes to people that he endorses. A 96% success rate in Republican primaries for people that Trump endorses Seems like a pretty good thing. This is according to CNN’s own poll guru saying, hey, if you look over here, you see another sign that people actually are approving of this president. At least people within the political party that got him in office in the first place.
SPEAKER 12 :
It’s a huge deal because President Trump is the kingmaker in Republican primaries. That’s why it’s such a big deal. Take a look here. Times Trump endorses one GOP primaries. This is congressional and gubernatorial. In 2020, it was 98%. In 2022, it was 95%. In 2024, it was 96%. President Trump has the magic touch when it comes to endorsing in Republican primaries. And when he doesn’t endorse you, you go, to quote the great movie Good Burger, into the grinder.
SPEAKER 23 :
I like that he quoted Goodburger there. That’s kind of interesting to me. But yeah, Trump yet again showing how his influence is uniquely powerful within the Republican Party, or at least CNN willingly admitting it. So I think that the stories about my death were absolutely exaggerated. It feels like it’s exactly the kind of thing—I know I butchered that quote— But anyway, it’s exactly the kind of thing right now that people should be talking about. My untimely demise were greatly exaggerated because any of this poll data saying that Trump isn’t still strong with his base is incredibly inaccurate and actually, I think, woefully misrepresenting what’s actually happening. But nonetheless, and to take it a step further, if the Insurrection Act is used anywhere in this country to allow federal law enforcement to keep doing their job, they have every legal right to do. I absolutely believe it’s because Democrats pushed for it and want that. They continue to try to shape Trump as a dictator because they think that’s the way that they can win an election. And that truly is disgusting. as far as a political strategy is concerned. At least it should be a disgusting if you see what I see. A quick break. A lot more Craig Collins filling in on The Dana Show.
SPEAKER 24 :
And now, all of the news you would probably miss. It’s time for Dana’s Quick Five.
SPEAKER 23 :
That’s right. It’s time for a quick five on the Dana Show. My name is Craig Collins filling in. Dean Lash, Dana Lash Radio on X on Twitter. Great ways to stay connected to her at Radio Craig C. If you want to see me occasionally tweet about the New York Yankees, among other things. Not the terrible politics that exist in the city of New York, just the baseball team that I’ve loved since I was a little kid. All right, let’s do some things. Americans say their energy levels are low. This is an unsurprising survey of 2000 adults. 206 p.m. is when it actually hits the worst as far as your low energy level goes right in the smack dab middle of your world. Well, I guess the tail end of your workday for most people. I thought this was interesting as far as what we thought we’d gain if we were given unlimited energy. A whole bunch of people said they’d just be making more money, mostly because they think they’d be doing more side hustles or maybe they would climb the ladder quicker if they had more energy. People also said they’d have better social lives. 34% of people said the reason that they’re not as socially active as they want to be is that they just have no energy for it. And then finally, 41% of people said their energy is sufficient most days, but they wind up still being exhausted at the end of the day, meaning they’re capable of nothing else. than what they’re already doing. A whole lot of people said it’s probably lack of sleep. That’s one of many things that’s causing this problem. And I think that that’s likely to be true because we can’t put our phones down. I am among the people who can’t do that. So this is someone who is admitting to the problem. Not just ridiculing everyone else for being part of the issue. A lot of us, I think, are getting less sleep than we should be getting every single day. And part of it is self-inflicted. No matter what time you get in bed, you’re maybe still scrolling on the phone more than you should be. All right. Other things out there that I saw. 38,000 gallons of bottled water was recalled for having a, quote, foreign substance in it. This is something that I think landed in several different states in the United States, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin. This is part of the reason that we should never have bottled water to begin with. and be drinking the bottled water is that people can make a horrible mistake like this. But mostly this was stuff bought at Meijer distribution or Meijer grocery stores, Meijer brand products that might be the issue here. The product lot code is 39222. Number three, if anybody listening in those places is worried they might’ve bought some contaminated water, a whole lot of it has been recalled. This is why kids in my generation just drank out of the hose. Nobody knew what the black stuff was that was coming out of the hose and nobody cared. This was definitely a better and easier time. Also, somewhat related, I think, to the mistake that is buying bottled water is the amount of Americans who still buy coffee every single day out in the world. Many reports are saying that as Americans are tightening their belt, finding more and more ways to try to save money, especially as things got rougher over the holiday, one thing people can’t seem to stop doing is buying coffee. Not all that long ago, we used to live in a place where all of us just made coffee at home. I don’t even drink coffee, which is why I feel like I’m immune to the entirety of this conversation. But I do find it funny that one of the easiest ways to potentially save money for yourself or anyone in your family is to just cut out these store-bought individual cups of coffee from the Dunkin’ Donuts or the Starbucks or what have you. That will be one way to absolutely kick up the numbers that you have in the bank account compared to what you have before. And many people can’t seem to break the pattern, according to a brand new study. And then one last thing, and I just thought this was funny, too. A somewhat obscure set of AI-powered eyeglasses or smart glasses have gone viral. They’re $299. They’re AI-powered eyewear products. I think is how they’re described. But the reason they went viral is part of their advertisement. So they’re designed to be live streaming glasses. Metra Livestream, I think, or Mentra Livestream is what they’re called. And in their ad, they said they’re perfect for live streaming on Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, and then they added an additional website that caught a lot of people’s attention. OnlyFans. This was part of their campaign. They’re like the best smart glasses to use on any of these platforms. A whole lot of people’s ears perked up or they paid more attention to when an adult website was mentioned in there, and they wondered why this pair of smart glasses was better at streaming to that service than other potential smart technology was, and why the brand would have worked with that website to try to develop something that seamlessly worked with it. Here’s the thing. No matter what you think of all the parts of the story I just put out there, it made a relatively unknown company go much more viral. So apparently the marketing strategy worked of mentioning something that people don’t expect you to mention when you’re talking about the value of your product and how easily it blends with all of the top social media platforms out there is boom. Look at this. All the adult entertainers can wear these smart glasses too. All right, quick break. A lot more. Craig Collins filling in on The Dana Show.
SPEAKER 17 :
Brighten up your timely news consumption with a Dana show podcast where every update comes with a little dash of not so serious on YouTube, Apple, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Dana show.
SPEAKER 23 :
My name is Greg Collins filling in. Thrilled to be with you. A bunch of stuff out there to talk about. The DOJ is probing protester groups and looking into whether or not the disruption at a church in Minneapolis was the work of people that definitely are doing other terrible things. And our society buyer, more or less. That’s how I’m going to paraphrase the story. If some of the radical protesters that are involved in the Black Lives Matter group in Minnesota are also doing some criminal and illegal things, that is what the DOJ is investigating. This is a good thing, I think, to look into the ties that these organizations have to other groups, where the money comes from, all of that kind of stuff, and also just disrupting Christian worship groups trying to worship God. It seems crazy. I will say this and remind people of it. Tim Walls, a while ago, the governor of Minnesota, said that it would likely be ICE that would raid churches and arrest people inside churches and break apart that sacred place. And that’s not at all what actually happened. Instead, people went into a church to protest the people inside the church and could face criminal charges because of it and because how that is supposed to be a protected space. Now, yeah, the people who did that are the radical left, not the people they claimed it was going to be. Another thing out there that’s a big story is the text messages that have been leaked between the prime minister of Norway and President Trump. Here’s what happened before I hit play on the audio where they discussed some of the context of the messages. The prime minister of Norway sent a text message, which is a weird way to communicate with our president, at least for this type of communication. Not weird in general, but weird to be an official version of, hey, we want to set up a meeting with you. Trump then responded back via text, and that text somehow got leaked all over the place. It went to a bunch of other European leaders and then went to a bunch of press. Probably the last time that President Trump will respond to a text from the prime minister of Norway. But nonetheless, I want to hit play on this because I do think something else incredibly important is playing out here. You’re getting to see an inside look at how frank, how blunt, how maybe, you know, extreme some versions of interactions are between world leaders, especially our president, and how the reality of actions would never match the words, but the words are designed to get you to not need the action to follow it. This is somehow how I think these things are done. People are probably incredibly blunt with each other, even if at the end of the day, the way diplomacy actually appears to work to the American people is quite a bit different. But here, nonetheless, I want to play on this and I want to talk about it. No, I’m not saying that if I were part of President Trump’s team, would I have recommended he text this way, but I don’t think he would have cared what I said, and I don’t think, at the end of the day, it matters anywhere near as much as mainstream media is going to tell you it matters, but here we go.
SPEAKER 05 :
We obtained some text messages between the President of Norway and President Trump on Sunday. The Prime Minister of Norway, excuse me, writes, Dear Mr. President, dear Donald, we believe we all should work to take this down and de-escalate. So much is happening around us where we need to stand together. We are proposing a call with you later today. Now, Trump responds sort of with a jab here. Harris writes, Dear Jonas, considering your country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped eight wars, plus I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. And he goes on to say the world is not secure unless we have complete and total control of Greenland.
SPEAKER 23 :
Yeah, so here’s the thing. And this is the thing that matters to me. This was a gotcha from jump, at least the way in which it’s being utilized by media and also potentially the way in which Denmark wanted to have a conversation with Trump. I wonder if there’s any other text messages that we haven’t seen that might show some version of conversation being similar to this version and not necessarily being as one-sided as this. But the other thing, and I’ll say this till I’m blue in the face, the craziest person in the room gets what they want very often. I’m not saying that I advocate for this type of behavior solely because it works. But it does work. That is a thing that often is true. And I’ll use an example I used earlier in the show. I love how they represent lawyers in television. A lot of times the way that lawyers get what they want when they’re brought into some sort of scene in some sort of room, and a lot of people might just assume this about the legal profession itself, is they’re the biggest, craziest bully in the room. They usually walk in, they yell and scream stuff at other people, threaten everybody, walk out and get what they want. That’s how media represents people who conduct law or at least defend people in the world of law in our society. And I think there’s a reason for that, because we do know how often that version of approach is effective. And President Trump wants something right now, and he’s certainly not being shy about how he wants it. And if this wasn’t leaked and if media didn’t get to react the way they did do it, it might have been an effective version of I’m not having a conversation. I’m looking for support for you to give me what I want. But nonetheless, I understand the criticism of it. I do. And I’m not someone who’s going to just side with anything and everything that this current president does because I’m a supporter of him, because I voted for the man. I do think it’s important to say that, hey, this might have been a spot where you could have swung and missed and you might have been able to do better. But at the same time, it’s not a big deal. And I don’t know how to say that differently. So I’m just going to say it that bluntly. This isn’t the end all be all of political news stories that some are going to make it out to be. The left has this desire, and I call it the left, but you know what? I’m going to take a second to define that better, and I don’t know if I need to. I imagine for a whole bunch of people who listen to this very fancy radio show, there’s no need to do it. I do notice sometimes, though, when I talk to people in my own orbit who are liberal, that they immediately turn out. When you say the left, when you say, you know, a phrase like that, like, how dare you try to group us into one group the way we group MAGA as all the same people. But so many people in media, so many people that are Trump derangement syndrome individuals are just so many people on the very extreme side of the political aisle that is liberal and liberal talking points right now. The message is clear. Do anything and everything you can to make Trump the absolute biggest villain society has ever seen. And it’s been that way for a while. This is not a new plan. This is not a new system. It’s just being taken to further and further extremes as that side continues to lose. And I kind of think the arrogance of people in general is part of what pushes that a certain direction. You’re someone who wakes up in the morning and you’re so mad that Trump won the last election. You can’t handle it. How dare the person that I wanted to win didn’t win, whoever it is. If it was actually Harris that a lot of these people wanted, my God. But nonetheless, you wake up, you’re upset, and then you go about your life trying to perpetuate the version of, I told you you were terrible people to vote for him. So anything and everything I see that I can warp one way, I will. And then there’s times where you don’t need to warp it, where it is what it is. Trump sent the text. I’m not pretending he didn’t. I don’t think it’s being misshaped in media in the aggressiveness of it. But I think there was an intention behind it. And I think I’ll say one last thing about this story, which might be big or not that big to a whole lot of people out there. If the opposite were true, and I hate these whataboutisms, but they’re usually the best way to ram home a point. If this were Biden, who I could never imagine sending anything like this to anyone, but if he sent a threatening text to some other world leader in a situation where media was absolutely agreeing with whatever the crazy thing is that liberals wanted, they’d praise him. Media, in some ways, has praised Tim Walz and Mayor Fry out of Minneapolis for the crazy stuff they’ve said about standing up against ICE and, you know, federal law enforcement. And it’s just insane to see and hear that, the way they’ve vilified… All the individuals who are trying to remove people that are illegally in this country, something they have every right to do. But it’s the same thing. And when Fry says out loud that you need to get in the way of ICE agents who are trying to do their job, disrupt them, yell, scream, and potentially be harmed because of it, that you’re doing a great service to society. And that the ICE agents themselves are these awful, horrible bad guys when that’s not remotely close to true. All of that continues to demonstrate this thing that you see very often, which is it doesn’t matter what the news is. It doesn’t matter what the truth is. It doesn’t matter what the facts are. What matters is what side of the equation these media outlets or these people are on as to how they’ll think and feel. And I promise I’m not defending Trump and the tweet for that exact same reason or that text, excuse me, for the exact same reason. that everything he does has to be okay. I’m saying that media will blow this way out of proportion compared to what it actually is because they desire to do that at all costs, at any cost, all the time. And I’ll say this one more time before we take a break and come back and have a little fun before we get out of here today. But the last thing I’ll say is that right now, The amount of people on the left who want Trump to escalate this fight with Minnesota, with Virginia, with any of the politicians who are trying to circumvent federal authority. The amount of people in liberal media and on the liberal side of politics that want to see him use the Insurrection Act so they can attack it is through the roof insane. It’s extreme. It’s a ridiculous amount of people. And the amount of people who were not happy I wouldn’t go so far as to say happy that someone died in the story about the ICE agent and the woman driving the car. But they were more than happy to use that story for political gain, for political value, and disregard simple aspects and facts of it is also through the roof. And it’s horrible. It’s horrible for our society that people essentially want to sacrifice you and I individuals in the street in some capacity, some way, shape or form, maybe not our actual lives, but some amount of our safety simply because it thinks they think it will win them a midterm election. It’s disgusting and it’s absolutely happening. The amount of people who are trying to ratchet up the tension and the differences between us is through the roof on the liberal side of the aisle. So when you talk about the left, that’s the side I’m talking about. The radical, anti-ICE, Antifa version of society right now that is doing more and more to tear us apart than to try any sort of form of having us… And I’m not going to go as cliche as come together, but at least be capable of talking to each other. That’s the thing that seems most shocking to me is how often they don’t even want the sides of the aisle talking and how bad they think that is, which is absolutely when bad things happen. All right, quick break. A little bit more coming up. Craig Collins filling in on The Dana Show.

SPEAKER 23 :
This is the Dana Show. My name is Craig Collins filling in. Thrilled to be with you on the holiday. Lots of stuff to talk about. Very little time left to do it. I do think it’s interesting to mention something that happened over the weekend that a whole lot of media won’t talk about at all. That 60 Minutes story that became news media fodder because it got spiked by the brand new chief. who, you know, for some reason is friendly with Trump, even though she’s absolutely a liberal herself. But anyway, the new chief of CBS News, the fact that that story actually did air over the weekend on Sunday, it was on television. Most, if not all of it, the way that it was originally created, wound up airing. I think the only aspect of it that might have changed was they made more attempts to talk to the Trump administration before airing a story about security and prisons in El Salvador. Here’s what’s so funny to me. A month ago, when this story became news media fodder, most people refused to talk about the idea that it would inevitably air. I think I was filling in on this show, and I said exactly that, that at some point in the future, this thing’s probably going to wind up being on television. Because that absolutely obliterates the narrative that Trump and his administration are wielding control of CBS and or news media and turning it into state media. Because the thing that they were creating with a push from the new person in charge to at least try harder to talk to this administration, still wound up coming out. In places where the government is actually in charge of news media, the thing never comes out. That’s the part that people never talk about. The thing that you were up in arms about because it got delayed by weeks is never seen ever. by the general public. And this definitely was. And this was a nothing burger and people will move on from it and forget about it and not care about it anymore. No one will discuss how our society is utterly different than the places they want to pretend it is simply because this thing inevitably existed. Another story out there that I thought was interesting, or at least another term that’s gone viral, it’s a Gen Z or young person term, chopple ganger. It’s a real thing. This is someone who is much uglier than whatever version of a person they resemble, whether it’s a celebrity or even just somebody you know that looks like somebody else you know. The word chopped or the phrase, the description often means that you’re bad looking. And so if you’re someone’s chapel ganger, you’re the ugly version of this other person. I found this to be a very amusing thing because there’s other ways to describe this. The Timo version of a celebrity or Timo version of a celebrity, I think, is another way that people say this. But oftentimes being compared to someone and saying that saying that you’re uglier than them is. It’s not quite the insult that people think it is. I’m going to use something ridiculous and I’m going to throw it out there and you don’t care. This is radio. You can’t even see me. So you can’t judge the authenticity of this. But I remember in college, people told me that I looked like Adam Levine, not as attractive as Adam Levine. I looked like an uglier version of Adam Levine. That’s something I definitely was told 20 years ago in my life. I always took that as a compliment, man. Anytime anyone compared me to someone that they thought was actually a really good-looking celebrity, I was like, ah, it’s fine. Even if you tell me I’m the bad-looking version of them. Because no part of me wants to walk around in society thinking I’m as good-looking as a famous celebrity. And so I think it’s funny that people would get offended by this or that they would even tell you that you need to be on the lookout for this because if a Gen Z person tells you you’re the chopple ganger of someone, it’s supposed to be an insult. I don’t see it that way at all, but that’s just me. Who knows? I think many people would be thrilled to be called the Choppelganger version of Dana Lash. They’d be like, hey, I’m the uglier version of Dana. That’s great. I take it. More power to me. And I’m sure she would probably find that amusing, too, because there’s got to be somebody out there that’s called that. I’m a dude, so it’s not me. who’s compared to her at all. But nonetheless, I think this is much more of a compliment than Gen Z thinks it is just because of how hilarious it would be to actually think that you look like these celebrities. So many people who think they have a celebrity doppelganger obviously have a really good sense or a really good set of personal confidence. They might be a tad bit of a narcissist, I would think, to think you actually look like these people. But anyway, it’s out there and I’ve informed you of the Dana Show helping out every single day. This is Craig Collins filling in. Talk to you next time.
