In this episode, we delve into the recent political pivot by former President Trump in response to mounting pressures from both sides of the aisle. Our discussion explores the reaction to his rhetoric adjustments, scrutinizing the impact and potential shifts in policy dynamics. With insights from political analysts, we take a closer look at whether these changes signify a deeper strategic recalibration.
SPEAKER 01 :
Yesterday’s Eminem experience featured Nostradamus Mike Gallagher talking about Trump’s ability to pivot, to just kind of look at this changing situation and just change things and adjust things. And I will tell you, this is a little bit of what I was talking about with the silver lining as well, that from the most horrible of circumstance comes an opportunity for him to take a look at some of the most brash rhetoric. I’m a big fan of brash rhetoric. and say, you know what, maybe there’s some things that need to be dialed back. Tell me how yesterday struck you.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, and he’s going to get a lot of flack for it. He’s getting a lot of flack already. There are a lot of social media warriors who are, you know, claiming that he caved, you know, that, you know, the left is— Hey, Mike, real quick, there’s a thing I did not hear the first 15 seconds.
SPEAKER 01 :
Let me set you back up there, and so neither did anybody else. So once again, how did yesterday strike you?
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, he’s going to get a lot of flack for it. He’s already getting a lot of flack for it. He’s getting a lot of pushback from some sharp-elbowed folks on our side who thinks he’s caving. People on the left are jumping up and down, mocking him, saying, you know, what do they call him? Taco Trump always chickens out. And as I said yesterday morning, I really do believe that. that there’s a need here for a pivot. And you got Governor Walz reaching out to Trump, so that’s a step in the right direction. You got Tom Holman meeting today with Jacob Fry and apparently Tim Walz. And I think it’s generally coming, I think everybody’s coming to the same conclusion that some of the rhetoric that came from the administration after the shooting was an unforced error, to quote Jonathan Turley. there’s no evidence that this guy was a domestic terrorist who was planning to massacre multiple federal agents. There’s just no evidence of that, apparently. Now, maybe, you know, if they had evidence, I think they’d present it. So it’s not really time to pile on. It is what it is. We’ve got to turn the page. And like you always say, let the game come to us. And right now, they’re going to pull back. They’re pulling the Border Patrol chief out of there. They’re going to scale back. Trump’s position is if they’ll only cooperate with us, we don’t need to have border patrol there. Fry is supposedly saying we understand the role of ICE. You know, now, I don’t know. I believe it when I see it. I mean, you know, we get all warm and fuzzy about John Fetterman, and now John Fetterman’s turning around saying they got to completely pull out of Minneapolis altogether.
SPEAKER 01 :
But I think that was pre-yesterday, and I don’t think he was on with Hannity last night. and said, look, and Hannity asked him, didn’t Biden lie for four years about the border being under control? He said, yes. He agreed, yeah. The Fed is also, not for one minute, going to shut down the government as ICE funding is held hostage. So… When the game changes, not to keep using war imagery, but when the enemy does something different, when the situation changes, you sometimes adjust your plan if things aren’t working as well as you’d like them to. That’s what he’s doing. So everybody on the left, enjoy your day. He’s not… surrendering his agenda item to make us safe from illegal immigration. And the critics on the right for whom it’s just not sharp elbowed enough. Guys, are you helping us? Is it a great idea to say things and do things that get us slammed in a mid-season, in a midterm election cycle? It’s not.
SPEAKER 02 :
So I have a new Gavin Newsom tweeted out about the Border Patrol chief being pulled out and he said, it’s working, guys. Keep it up. I mean, they’re going to spike the football and they’re going to take they’re going to act like and but but the frustrating part, Mark, is that there is some truth to mob rule winning. You know, we haven’t seen these kind of protests that have led to these deaths anywhere else in America. Even in, you know, rough Chicago and even in cities that are blue, blue, blue cities, we haven’t seen them. It was only Minneapolis. And that’s because and it’s already been revealed there’s this this shadowy network of organizers. And, you know, they’ve got this signal app stuff and, you know, they converge upon the these officers. And it is frustrating. I’m going to admit it’s very frustrating to see. what appears to be the mob winning this chapter.
SPEAKER 01 :
What’s the alternative? Because I know what you mean, and I feel you. So what’s the alternative for him to change nothing? Pedal to the metal. Pedal to the metal. Okay, what does that look like?
SPEAKER 02 :
It looks like it’s going to be a mess. You’re right, but that’s the alternative. The alternative is simple.
SPEAKER 01 :
Double down. How many more shootings would we get? How many more dead people would we have to navigate and have 15 angels dancing on the head of a pin and contorting ourselves like pretzels to make every shooting look perfect because we have to?
SPEAKER 02 :
And what really and what kills me is that these shootings are what they want. They want this. I’m convinced these Democrat leaders. Look, these are ghouls. There are so many demons on the other side. And I always come back to the battle of good versus evil. Have you heard about the nurse from Virginia named Melinda? Have you seen have you heard about her? It’s a young woman. Okay, there’s a young woman named Melinda. She’s a healthcare worker at VCU Health, proudly posting clips on her little TikTok account saying that we got to poison ICE agents. Hey, women, you find these ICE guys, meet them on Tinder, they’re out there, and then you spike their drinks. You give them, and then there’s a particular drug that she cited. She’s a nurse. She’s a nurse. And she’s posting these videos in her scrubs. I mean, here’s the thing that kills me about seeing these unhinged healthcare workers or teachers or doctors or lawyers. They’re proud of it, Mark. Yep. They don’t – imagine saying out loud, look, hi, I’m a nurse in Virginia, and I want you to get – and she says this – get syringes with needles and stick an ICE agent with a drug that paralyzes him and could likely kill him. Mm-hmm. And she’s smirking and she’s smiling. And it’s a series of videos. Now, she’s been completely exposed. Now she’s outed. Everybody knows who she is. They’re posting her nurse’s license online. They’re making demands. And she’s done. She’s finished. She might get prosecuted. I don’t know.
SPEAKER 01 :
But Mark… What was she thinking? I mean…
SPEAKER 02 :
What are any of them thinking?
SPEAKER 01 :
I know.
SPEAKER 02 :
What are any of them thinking? Because they’re posting this stuff for public consumption. I mean, it’s one thing if you’re such a demon that you’re thinking to yourself quietly, boy, I wish I could kill some of these cops. I don’t like cops. But to say, I’m going to take my camera and I’m going to put the camera on my face and I’m going to post it on my social media page. Yep. It shows you how demonic they are. Mark, how else do you describe this? They’re proud of their ghoulishness.
SPEAKER 01 :
Their terminology is perfect. Sixty seconds ago, you said another thing that had been a shared narrative of you and me, that the Democrat leadership wants this. They want the conflict. Yesterday, when you and I talked about giving them what they want, an idea that’s not really workable, but maybe you think we’ve taken a step toward that, taken all of ICE out, saying, okay, we’re going to give you what you want. We’re pulling out completely. Let the illegals have your state and see how that works out for you. and we said that waltz and fry would not take that offer because they do crave the conflict they do crave the writing and are willing to even endure and absorb the occasional shooting if it ramps up the chaos now if that’s true and i’ve kind of believed that too why did they seem to make a little bit of nice with trump yesterday well they also they also recognize something’s got to give i mean everybody knows something’s got to change the same path
SPEAKER 02 :
We can’t stay on this same path because you’re right. More people are going to get shot in the streets. I mean, they’re pragmatists, if nothing else. And I think they figure, okay, two shootings. That’s our pound of flesh. We got what we wanted. Now we’ll pivot along with Trump, and we’ll try to play nice a little bit and see how this goes. The whole thing is just a mess. We got time to fix it. We’ve got, you know, I’m looking at the midterms. Okay.
SPEAKER 01 :
I think it’s less of a mess in the days moving forward than it was for the last few days. Perhaps. I like less of a mess. Perhaps. I also am thoroughly confident that Trump is not buckled, that he’s not chickening out, that he’s not abandoning the notion of Trump. trying to get serious about Minnesota. I knew he would pivot.
SPEAKER 02 :
I knew he would pivot. I knew he would. Yesterday, that’s why I told you yesterday, I knew he would say, you know what, something’s got to change here. And I don’t think he’s real happy with Kristi Noem. I don’t think he’s real happy with her at all. And I’m not sure that she shouldn’t be. And I hate to throw her under the bus. I think she’s done a great job. You know, I’m not Pam Bondi. I’m not, I don’t know about you, not a fan. You know, I’m starting to just, the bloom is coming off the rose of some of these folks.
SPEAKER 01 :
So Bondi caught a lot of Epstein-related heat. What else? What else troubles you?
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, do something. Make arrests. I mean, they can’t even get Don Lemon arrested. Arrest somebody, you know? I mean, I appreciate that she likes to go on Fox News, but maybe instead of, do a little less TV time and do some action. How many people, make some arrests. I think people are screaming for that, clamoring for that, Mark. Don’t you?
SPEAKER 01 :
I am. And the first thing I thought was this would be for the antics at the church. And I would think that would be more of a local arrest. But aren’t we talking about federal charges of impeding the FASE Act, the Freedom of Access to Critic Entrances? It’s a federal law that they also violated and Don Lemon along with them. So, yeah.
SPEAKER 02 :
I mean, we’re just waiting. Look, all I know is my sacrifice this week has been enormous. With all the weather issues and everything, I have been sick as a dog since I got back from my vacation.
SPEAKER 01 :
How are you feeling? You doing all right?
SPEAKER 02 :
My allergies, not very good, but I did get advice yesterday after I told everybody my story about the neti pot. One of my kids told me about the neti pot, and I tried that. Mark, I had water squirting out of my eyes.
SPEAKER 01 :
Describe to everybody, you heat up a heated liquid, you pour it in one nostril.
SPEAKER 02 :
One nostril, and it’s supposed to go out the other. It’s supposed to. You’re supposed to. Where did it come out of you? It was coming out of places it shouldn’t have come out of. It was coming out of my ears. It was the stupidest thing. I’m moaning. I’m sick. And it’s all because of the stupid allergies that I got on the Disney Castaway Key Island last week. It was windy and there were trees. And when it’s wind and trees, that’s a formula for disaster for me. I have been sick in the bed for about four days. Yeah. And I thought, I can’t miss the show. There’s too much going on. So yesterday, so people told me yesterday about Navaj. Have you heard about Navaj?
SPEAKER 01 :
I’ve heard the commercial.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, that’s better. That’s like a suction thing that kind of automatically puts it up one nostril and comes out the other. You don’t have to worry about it. Because you should have seen me with the neti pot. I was waterboarding myself. I was waterboarding. I’ll talk.
SPEAKER 01 :
I’ll tell you. I was. I was.
SPEAKER 02 :
I’ll give you any secret you want to. I was. I was doing it to myself. And you should have seen the water was shooting out everywhere. I couldn’t get it to. And I felt like I was drowning. It was the stupidest thing. Because my kid said, Dad, you got these sinus things. Just try this neti pot. It’ll work.
SPEAKER 01 :
Lisa swears by it. Nope.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, tell her to try Navaj. Because that thing works.
SPEAKER 01 :
She loves it. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER 02 :
Oh, that works pretty good. Although it’s still a horrible sensation.
SPEAKER 01 :
I will tell you this. Yesterday, I drove around and had some stuff to do post-show. Listen to you. You sounded great. And you’re full of film and vigor today. It’s drugs.
SPEAKER 02 :
Mucinex. Mucinex. It’s drugs.
SPEAKER 01 :
Today’s show brought to you by Mucinex.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, now my new fear, did I ever tell you how years ago I got addicted to nasal spray? You know you can get addicted to nasal spray.
SPEAKER 01 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 02 :
And Afrin, years ago when I was doing local TV, I got a cold and I took it for too long. If you take it for too long, it can backfire. Yeah, well, your nose clogs up because it craves it, and you’ve got to go cold turkey. And I burst a blood vessel in my nose, had to go to the emergency room, it was bleeding all over the place. So I thought, well, Vicks Cynex Severe, which is the little spray bottle that I’m taking now. Right. I thought that would be better. Last night before I went to bed, I went to chat GPT. I said, can I get addicted to Vicks Sinex? Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. If you take more than four days. All the kids are getting it first one. So I’m a junkie. So I’m a junkie. And I got water coming out my ears from the neti pot.
SPEAKER 01 :
That’s my day. Before you’re in rehab and we have nothing but sub hosts. Nothing but them. And I’m here for you. I’m here for you.
SPEAKER 02 :
I love you. I’m willing to sacrifice.
SPEAKER 01 :
All right. I love you. Goodbye. See you. No matter how he’s feeling at 10 o’clock, he’s going to rock.
SPEAKER 1 :
752.
SPEAKER 01 :
