There’s a live look at, that looks like a beautiful shot of the harbor there in New York City on the Salem News Channel camera network. Check us out, snc.tv. Thanks for watching. It’s the fastest growing streaming TV over the top platform 24-7. Salem News Channel, your antidote to the mainstream media. Of course, we’re heard every day on AM 970. The answer in New York City where the mayor of New York… I kid you not. I’m going to tell you a quick story, and then we’ll take some calls, and then we’ll chat, and then we’ll kind of work through this stuff together. I’m going to tell you a story that you’re not going to believe about Zoran Mamdani. There was a police-involved shooting in New York, and this happens in cities and cities. Communities all over America where somebody has a knife or a weapon and they charge a police officer and they get shot. Happens all the time. You know, you’ve seen the body cam videos before, and it’s scary. I mean, just like that, in a split second, a police officer can be killed, stabbed to death or shot. And that happened in New York. Guy with a knife, apparently mentally disturbed. The guy charges the police officer, and as I understand it, stabbed the police officer. Tracy can help me with some of the details on this. But I believe stabbed the police officer. Police officer shoots the guy with the knife. Okay? Who do you think Zoran Mamdani visited in the hospital? I’m not kidding you. He visited the guy with the knife. He visited the guy who got shot trying to kill the police officer. You think I’ve flipped my lid, don’t you? That’s who Zoran Mamdani was worried about. And he’s making this big, now he’s making a pitch to the prosecutors in New York not to prosecute the guy because he’s mentally ill. I mean, now, honestly, to our New York audience, help me fill in the blanks for me on this story. Because admittedly, I’m not as well versed on this particular story as I’d like to be. Do me a favor. Did he visit the cop? I mean, do we know that he didn’t visit the police officer, but he did visit the guy with the knife? Can you call me and give me the answer to that question? I’m going to give you 60 seconds to get on board. We’ve got a couple open lines for you. 800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453. Is it true that in this police-related shooting where a man with a knife was charging a police officer with the NYPD and the police officer shot and injured the guy with the knife, is it true that Mamdani visited the guy with the knife? but didn’t visit the police officer. Can you confirm or deny, New York? 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. I’m looking for a New York caller who knows this story and can tell me if that’s true or not. I don’t want to believe it, but I do. It won’t surprise me. I do know that he absolutely visited the guy with the knife in the hospital. He bragged about it. said, I’m here to say hi to the guy with the knife. I’m right here. I’m with him. I want you to hear this. This is the mayor of New York. Again, you get the scenario, right? Guy with the knife, charges a cop, gets shot. Here’s the mayor of New York, Zoran Mamdani. And I visited Chavez in the hospital.
SPEAKER 10 :
And there is… No family should have to endure this kind of pain.
SPEAKER 04 :
Now, the mayor and I’ve got the story here, the incidents being investigated. by the Queens District Attorney’s Office, there are early indications that prosecutors were looking at seeking an indictment for attempted murder. Well, yeah. He tried to kill the cop. But Mamdani’s position is, this is just somebody who’s not mentally well. And we’ve got to just… appreciate that the police just always escalate situations we need social workers my gosh it kind of takes your breath away doesn’t it I mean it really does Mark’s in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Mark did did you when you first heard is this the first you’re hearing of this story Yeah. All right, so when I told you the mayor visited the guy with the knife in the hospital, did you believe me?
SPEAKER 05 :
I don’t know. He does weird things when he’s a mayor like that.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, indeed. Thank you, Mark. 800-655-MIKE. I have no idea. No idea. Again, if you’re in New York, I mean, look, here’s the headline. Body cam shows NYPD officer shooting man with knife as Mamdani calls for no criminal charges. 22-year-old Jabez Chakraborty charged at police officers with a large kitchen knife. Officers are heard attempting to de-escalate the situation, repeatedly ordering him to put the knife down. But he continued to lunge toward the officer. Mom Donnie, you just heard Mom Donnie. I went and visited the guy with the knife. Oh my goodness, my goodness, my goodness. Mike’s in Chicago, wants to weigh in on the Savannah Guthrie mother story. Hey Mike, how are you? Hello, Mike. How are you doing? You’re on the mic with Mike. There you go. Mike on the mic. There you go, Mike. Mike from Cicero, Illinois. Do you dislike Michael as much as I do? I hate it. I do, too. It sounds like my mother, and I don’t like it at all. I hate Michael. Don’t call me Michael. I hate Michael. I hate it. There’s a couple people in my life. I’ve never, ever had the nerve to correct my buddy Larry Elder. Larry Elder always calls me Michael, and I always want to say, Hey, Larry, we don’t call you Lawrence. It’s Mike. All right, so what’s up? What do you think about the Nancy Guthrie story? Give me your take.
SPEAKER 06 :
Do you think maybe they had someone do it themselves? The family?
SPEAKER 04 :
I don’t want to think that.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, everyone’s always… I mean, it could be. I know it’s a sad thing to say, but I mean, the world we’re living in nowadays…
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, the family’s always the first person that they look at. And, you know, there were reports. It was Ashley Banfield yesterday we shared with you that was reporting that the police were looking at the daughter and son-in-law. I don’t know. I mean, it’s kind of a bizarre story on many levels. Hard to figure out. Let’s pray for a miracle. It can happen. 800-655-MIKE. For years, I loved to break down the news, calling out Washington corruption, standing up for the values that make America strong. That means secure borders, limited government, economic freedom. Look, if you’re worried about what’s coming, and a lot of people are, you need to think about protecting yourself and your family with something real, something that can’t be printed out of thin air, something that doesn’t depend on corporate greed or government debt. That’s why I want to tell you about American Independence Gold. They’re a veteran-owned company that stands strong for patriots. We’ll be right back. The Mike Gallagher Show in the ReliefFactor.com studios.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m told that Chip on line two from Newark, New Jersey is mad at me and is accusing me of lying. I always find this a fascinating criticism of a show that a talk show host you disagree with. Because you can disagree all day long, but when you say somebody is lying, I take that seriously. Because, obviously, I never lie. I’ll never come in here and ever deceive you. If I make a mistake factually, I always correct it. So this ought to get interesting. I think he’s calling about the pretty shocking revelation that the mayor of the biggest city in New York… visited a guy in the hospital who charged at a police officer and attempted to kill a police officer with a knife. And the mayor visited the guy with a knife. But Chip in Newark says I’m saying something that is completely untrue. Hey, Chip, how are you? Hey, Mike, how you doing? I’m good. What did I’m saying that you got a problem with?
SPEAKER 05 :
Listen, first of all, Mike, I love you. Every morning I do my routes, I listen to you. I give you the truth.
SPEAKER 03 :
All right.
SPEAKER 05 :
Hey, listen, and I love the things that Donald Trump is doing. I’m just being honest.
SPEAKER 03 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 05 :
You know, I’m an African-American man. I’m a hardworking man.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, get to the good part. Get to the part you’re mad at me about.
SPEAKER 05 :
Okay, the good part is this. Did you see the video? Yes. When the police approached and they came in.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 05 :
Did you see the family member try her best to restrain him when he did have the knife?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 05 :
He did have a knife.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 05 :
But she tried her best to stop and hold him.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 05 :
So in that particular, why couldn’t they use a taser?
SPEAKER 04 :
Why couldn’t they use a taser?
SPEAKER 05 :
When they saw this woman trying to restrain him with their training, they are trained for situations like that. When you got another person involved, what if they were to shot her? She had nothing to do with it. She called them.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m so baffled.
SPEAKER 03 :
I’m so baffled. I mean, why don’t…
SPEAKER 04 :
Why don’t you use the argument, why don’t you use the argument, why didn’t they shoot him in the leg? Because that’s another one that people like to say.
SPEAKER 03 :
It doesn’t work that way.
SPEAKER 04 :
If you charge, if you charge, I don’t know, we had a really bad echo, and I don’t know what’s wrong with the phone line, Eric. Can you see if you can get his line fixed or whatever? Because I’m killing myself hearing myself back. Line two, see if you can get Chip better off. Chip’s argument is, well, why didn’t, when a guy comes charging at you with a knife, why don’t, his sister was trying to restrain him. It was trying to, why don’t you use a taser? Why don’t you clip him in the arm? Why don’t you shoot him in the ankle? Doesn’t work that way. If you charge somebody with a knife, Chip, you’re going to get shot. No two ways about it. And there’s nothing I said that is not factual. You may disagree with me. You may sit around and say, oh, the mean bully cop shot the guy because he just felt like it. But there’s nothing that was said that was false. Let’s see if we can get you back here and see if we’ve got a better connection. No, no. I’m back. Oh, way better. Way better. You were on speaker before? You must have been on speaker. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER 05 :
I apologize.
SPEAKER 04 :
That’s okay. I’m driving. That’s okay.
SPEAKER 05 :
I’m at work. I told you. I listen to you every morning while I’m at work.
SPEAKER 04 :
No, thank you. Thank you. But listen, let’s just be clear about something. I didn’t say anything false. You and I just disagree about a police response to somebody charging at him with a knife. You see a video of a guy charging a guy with a knife.
SPEAKER 01 :
Wait, wait, wait.
SPEAKER 04 :
Let me finish my point. Let me finish my point, and I promise I will not interrupt you. You see a guy charging a cop with a knife, and you see the sister or whatever trying to restrain him, and you think the cop should either take nonlethal force, use a taser or whatever, and I would say any time you charge an officer with a weapon, you’re going to get shot. Now, go ahead. You take over. But I didn’t say anything that’s false. We just disagree about a police response here, Chip. Okay.
SPEAKER 05 :
He has a knife, right? Yes, he did. And someone else in his family, not law enforcement, but his family member is trying to restrain him, like stop him from charging the police officer.
SPEAKER 03 :
I don’t understand. But wait a minute. Pardon me. Excuse me.
SPEAKER 05 :
What’s that got to do with it? We pay for training.
SPEAKER 03 :
What’s that got to do?
SPEAKER 05 :
They are trained for situations like that. He should not have shot him as many times as he did. I get it. Then you’re saying the police officer was stabbed and all the dirty above.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m trying not to interrupt him.
SPEAKER 05 :
I’m trying not to interrupt him. Yeah, Zoran Mondani did what he was supposed to do. He did what he was supposed to do. The family called for emotional distress. The man had issues.
SPEAKER 04 :
Dump, dump, both of you dump, dump, Brady, Eric. All right, I know you’re getting carried away. All right, now, hey, Chip, all right, now listen. You went on and on. Let me respond. You went on and on. I got you. We heard you. I got you, Mike. I’m doing my best. I’m trying to be the new me, the new and improved Mike, Mike 2.0, not interrupting somebody who’s yelling at me. Can you just explain one thing?
SPEAKER 05 :
I’m sorry.
SPEAKER 04 :
No, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER 03 :
I’m just a little excited. No, no. I’m sorry, man. I’m just a little excited. You’re fired up.
SPEAKER 04 :
You’re fired up. That’s okay. I love the passion. Can you explain one thing to me? You cursed a little bit, and we had to bleep you because you used the F word accidentally. I’ll curse a little bit, but we won’t have to bleep me. What in the hell does the family member trying to restrain him have to do with this? Can you explain that, Chip? No. Right. What’s that got to do with it?
SPEAKER 05 :
It has a whole lot to do with it. How? He’s not a threat.
SPEAKER 04 :
He’s not a threat because somebody’s trying to hold him back?
SPEAKER 05 :
He’s not a threat. He’s got a knife. He’s charging the cop. What’s wrong with you, Chip?
SPEAKER 03 :
You’re too smart for this.
SPEAKER 05 :
If somebody come out with a knife and I got training, I know what to do.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, you shoot him.
SPEAKER 05 :
I’m going to make him do the Harlem Shake. I’m going to hit him with the taser, and he’s going to do the Harlem Shake.
SPEAKER 04 :
Him and the knife going to fall. Here’s what I want you to do. You get what I’m saying? Here’s what I want you to do, Chip. If you charge a cop today in Newark with a knife, you’re going to get shot. Understand that. Of course.
SPEAKER 05 :
But that’s how we live it. Right. This is how we live it today. Cops, the first thing they do, they’re whipping out their pistols. Good. Good.
SPEAKER 04 :
It’s no need for them to even play the taser. Good. Let’s thin the population. You go charging somebody with a knife, you better get shot. You kidding me? I got an idea. How about you don’t charge a cop with a knife? How about that? You’re not supposed to. No. Oh, you’re not? Oh, good, good. Well, we’re making progress.
SPEAKER 05 :
No, I know. I agree with that. You’re not supposed to charge anyone with a knife. Good, good. But at the end of the day, the phone call came in for emotional support.
SPEAKER 04 :
Uh-huh. Oh, I know.
SPEAKER 05 :
He was mentally ill.
SPEAKER 04 :
Which is right.
SPEAKER 05 :
It wasn’t a call saying, listen, this dude is in here. He’s going nuts.
SPEAKER 04 :
I know.
SPEAKER 05 :
He’s talking about he’s going to kill people. He’s wilding out.
SPEAKER 04 :
I know. No, that wasn’t the call. I know.
SPEAKER 05 :
The call was for emotional support.
SPEAKER 04 :
I know, which is right up your boy Zoran Mamdani’s alley, isn’t it? He wants social workers to respond to people waving around a knife.
SPEAKER 05 :
Let me stop. I wasn’t a fan of the guy before him, and I damn sure not a fan of his.
SPEAKER 04 :
You better not, because the guy’s nuts, and you know it.
SPEAKER 05 :
But here’s the thing. I was just listening. No, I was listening to when you did the segment, and I’m like, wait a second. Somebody did try to restrain him when the officer should have saw that. Look, everybody’s texting me. Harlem Shake would have been better.
SPEAKER 04 :
They would have made him Harlem Shake. It would have been better. Yeah, well, guess what? Ain’t going to be a taser, pal. You go charge somebody. Look, do me a favor. They’re in Newark, in dangerous Newark, New Jersey. Don’t be charging a cop with a knife. I’m going to raise it.
SPEAKER 03 :
You know what they’re going to do to you? You know what they’re going to do?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, you better. So you better know. And you better mind your P’s and Q’s. You better not charge a cop with a knife because you’re no longer going to be with us. And I want to hear you another day call in and rant and rave about the family member. Oh, the family member tried to hold him back. But this, look, all kidding aside, and, you know, he’s a lot of fun. But this is a serious breakdown in the way lunatics on the left like Zoran Mamdani view policing. Mamdani is looking at this case and making this a test case of his whole idea that we need mental health professionals and social workers to diffuse a situation. And that’s what Chip’s trying to say. And Chip does agree with Zoran if he wants to say he doesn’t like Zoran. But that’s Mamdani’s position. Mamdani is saying, and this is what the mayor said at a news conference yesterday, in viewing the footage, it’s clear to me that what Jabez needs is mental health treatment, not criminal prosecution. A person experiencing a mental health episode does not always have to be served first or exclusively by a police officer. So Chip is going to argue, or is arguing, and Zoran Mamdani argues, that when somebody with a deadly weapon is experiencing a mental health episode, you call in Lily the social worker. Because Lily the social worker can sing Kumbaya, and blow some incense on him and talk him out of it. Lily, the social worker, is going to get her throat slit because Chip, the Chips of the world, lack the discernment to understand that you’ve got a dangerous man with a knife, mental health episode or not, the only person equipped to deal with that is a police officer. Period. There ain’t no social worker who’s going to be able to deal with a maniac trying to plunge a knife into people. But the touchy, feely, Zoran Mamdani, weak-kneed garbage is what’s going to run a city like New York right into the ground. Chip is right. Look at the video. Watch a guy… And it’s so simple for the chips of the world to sit there on their easy chair. Oh, the cops should have taken out the taser. Oh, the cops should have gotten out some pepper spray. Oh, the cops should have… He’s got a split second to defend his life. And he’s defending his life against a maniac who’s trying to kill him with a knife. And you wait and see. Because, again, prosecutors at the Queens District Attorney’s Office… are looking at attempted murder charges, you watch. At Mamdani’s urging, they’re just going to put the guy into the hospital and give him mental health treatment and call it a day. Because that’s how they roll on the left. The people, and God bless Chip. He’s a fun guy. I love him. I appreciate him listening every day. He doesn’t have a clue what police officers go through. He doesn’t have a clue, one, how a police officer has to make a split-second decision. Am I going to live or am I going to die? And the frustrating part is… Chip ain’t going to call a talk show and express any condolences for a police officer who gets stabbed to death. That’ll just be another day in the life of Newark, New Jersey. Chip’s not going to care about the cop. He only cares about the guy with the knife. And I’m certainly sorry if this guy has some mental health issues. The guy with the knife is a bad guy, mental health or not. And for the mayor of New York City to brag about going to visit the bad guy with the knife in the hospital tells you everything you need to know about Mamdani’s New York and the direction he’s taking the city. Let me take you in the direction of saving a bunch of money on your cell phone. Pure Talk is my cell phone company, my wireless company, an American wireless company that supports our veterans and invests in a U.S.-only customer service team. Look, Chip, I’ll even want to save you some money, Chip. You want a Pure Talk phone? What are you paying, Chip, for your cell phone bill there? $80, $90, $100 a month? You really want to fire up Chip in Newark? Did you see the clip that got revealed about an OJ Simpson juror? It was a documentary that somebody made called OJ Made in America. And one of the OJ Simpson jurors was a woman named Carrie Bess. You ready for this? Look, if you’re not fired up already today, if I don’t got your blood going, your heart pumping, this will fire you up. This lady, Carrie Bess… was interviewed and was asked about whether or not the jurors on the O.J. Simpson murder trial really thought that O.J. was guilty, that he did kill his ex-wife and Ron Goldman, but they found him not guilty as payback to the white man. Was it really just payback over money? Rodney King, the guy that was beaten by the white cops. Remember that? Listen to this clip. I wonder what Chip would say about O.J. Simpson juror Carrie Bess.
SPEAKER 08 :
Do you think that they’re members of the jury that voted to acquit O.J. because of Rodney King?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 08 :
You do? Yes. How many of you think felt that way?
SPEAKER 09 :
Oh, probably 90% of us.
SPEAKER 1 :
90%?
SPEAKER 09 :
Did you feel that way? Yes. That was payback?
SPEAKER 10 :
Uh-huh.
SPEAKER 09 :
You think that’s right?
SPEAKER 04 :
You can’t see her. She does a gesture at the end where he says, you think that’s right? And she just shrugs like, oh, well, it’s the way it is. It’s payback. It was payback to the white man. It was payback to white America. It was payback for Rodney King. We took a guy who brutally slaughtered his ex-wife and a waiter who was returning her glasses and And we found him not guilty, even though 90% of us knew he did it. You know this debate about what we call illegals? and how some people on the left are offended by the term illegal immigrant. It’s kind of wild to watch the left melt down over terms we use. Master bedroom. You know, you’re not allowed to say master bedroom anymore. I was talking to a real estate agent about a year or two ago. Oh, no, no, that’s verboten. I said, what do you mean? What’s wrong with master bedroom? Well, that denotes slavery. Master? Slave? Now it’s primary. A couple of weeks ago, that goofy Chris Cuomo claims that both Democrats and Republicans agree that the term illegals is offensive. And now we use the term undocumented. And everybody understands undocumented. No, we don’t. Illegal is illegal. So what’s the next word? How about the homeless? Are you offended by homeless? One school board member in California is.
SPEAKER 02 :
I have a lot to say, and I will speak plainly. and you may not like it. I am personally offended by what was presented on so many different levels. One thing I would like to see updated is the word homeless to unhoused. I’m not done.
SPEAKER 01 :
I just don’t want Mr. Berman for this to be on him. That’s the way our state of California, that’s the language that they use. That doesn’t mean that’s the language we have to use. I’m just making a statement.
SPEAKER 02 :
I just want to make sure that he’s not. I understand that. Okay. I recognize that you’re using the information that was given to you, that you researched, and I’m asking that it be updated. it is just because that’s the way that everybody else does it doesn’t mean that’s the way we need to do it. It’s a respectful term to speak about our community. I recognize that in this report that I think that something was said was there aren’t enough black students to have statistical significance.
SPEAKER 04 :
I turn it off. I can’t I can’t I can’t take any more of that. I can’t take any more. So there’s there’s a young woman. There’s a young happens to be a young black woman who’s a school board member somewhere in California. Bobbing her head, I am offended. I am personally offended. And I just wish somebody on the school board would have the guts to say, well, who cares? You’re personally offended. Here’s a stamp. Why don’t you write a letter and tell somebody about it? Does that date me or what? Homeless is now offensive? Unhoused. Isn’t that better? Now, that’s a school board member who’s in charge of curriculum, school districts, and very proud of herself. I mean, she looks very normal, nice-looking lady, got a nice outfit on there, got her glasses on there, her hair’s all done up right. Look at me. I am personally offended at what I just heard. What was that, lady? What did you hear? You called them homeless. We need to transition that to unhoused. Look, in a normal time, they’d have taken her away and put her in a rubber room. They would. They would have gotten a banana. They would have gotten one of those big butterfly nets and thrown it over her and taken her out of that room. And they’re doing this with language over and over again. Look at all the examples. California just texted me, don’t forget, can’t say pedophile anymore. It’s minor attracted people. The left is offended at the term pedophile. South Carolina points out you’re not allowed to say plantation blinds on windows anymore. And you know my rule comes down to one simple thing. These people are nuts. They are kooks, and they just seem to be getting louder and louder. I don’t know. Thankfully, there’s a pushback. There’s an absolute pushback. I’m back and forth on my condo. I’m going to sell my condo. I think I’m going to list it. I had a dream last night. My wife talked to me in a dream last night. I know. Do I need another vacation? But Denise came to me and said, you’ve got to sell the condo. And I know I need to sell it. I was probably asking too much initially, so I’m going to lower the price. I’m going to put the condo back up on the market, and hopefully somebody will come buy a beautiful condo. But we’ll see. But you think I’m going to call it the primary bedroom? Uh-uh. It’s the master bedroom. Because I’m the master of the house. Okay? You don’t like it? Stick it in your ear. And maybe if I sell the condo, I’ll have a little left over to spend on our cruise because it’s not that expensive. Look, it starts at $1,800.
