(Worthy News) – Israel’s military says it has struck more than 600 Hezbollah targets across Lebanon and eliminated roughly 200 terrorists since the Iranian-backed group joined the regional conflict last week.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Sunday that its Northern Command has conducted widespread operations by air, sea, and land, firing more than 820 munitions against Hezbollah infrastructure as part of the expanding regional campaign linked to Operation Roaring Lion.

Among those killed were several senior operatives, including Abu Hamza Rami, identified as Hezbollah’s Lebanese General Staff commander, roughly equivalent to a major general. The IDF said two colonel-level commanders and three battalion commanders were also eliminated during the strikes.

According to the military, the dead include 80 members of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force and about 70 artillery operatives responsible for launching rockets toward Israel. The Radwan unit has long been tasked with a potential cross-border invasion into Israel’s Galilee region.

In total, Israeli forces carried out 27 waves of strikes around Beirut, including five attacks in the Hezbollah-controlled Dahiyeh district. The Israeli Air Force has hit approximately 50 high-rise buildings in the area, where Hezbollah reportedly relocated weapons depots, command centers, and production facilities following the 2024 “Northern Arrows” operation.

During several of the strikes, secondary explosions were observed, indicating the presence of stored munitions and weapons production sites, the military said.

Israeli officials also reported a strike Sunday morning on an apartment inside the Ramada Inn in Beirut where senior commanders from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force were believed to be staying. Lebanese media said four people were killed in the strike, though their identities were not immediately confirmed.

The IDF’s Northern Command believes the campaign has severely disrupted Hezbollah’s operational coordination with Iran. Israeli officials said there now appears to be an “almost complete disconnect” between Hezbollah and Tehran during the current phase of fighting.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah has continued launching rockets and drones toward northern Israel. Several waves of rockets struck the region over the weekend, at times appearing to coincide with Iranian ballistic missile attacks. On Sunday morning, an Israeli Air Force helicopter intercepted a drone approaching the Israeli-Lebanese border.

Despite the escalation, the IDF said it has attempted to minimize civilian harm by issuing evacuation warnings to residents near Hezbollah infrastructure. Israeli military spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee urged civilians south of the Litani River to evacuate northward ahead of additional Israeli operations.

“Hezbollah’s terrorist activities are forcing the IDF to act against it forcefully in that area,” Adraee said in a statement. “For your safety, we urge you to evacuate your homes immediately.”

Lebanon’s health ministry claims Israeli strikes have killed 394 people during the past week, though the IDF says many of those killed were members of Hezbollah and other militant organizations.
