Redistricting chaos flips fast as court rulings and state maps spark a potential power shift in Congress, with big gains suddenly on the table. A controversial move tied to James Comey ignites debate over accountability, motive, and where the line gets crossed. Reactions spiral—from lawmakers melting down on the floor to everyday professionals risking everything with reckless posts. The bigger question keeps coming back: what drives people to torch their own careers just to make a political statement? Frustration, outrage, and disbelief collide as the conversation turns to whether this is strategy, emotion, or something deeper.

SPEAKER 13 :
From the wild world of D.C. politics to America’s culture clash, brace yourself for the reality check you’ve been waiting for. The one and only Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 07 :
Holy moly, what a day, huh? What a week. What news? Supreme Court decision which effectively eliminates race-based redistricting? Do you know what that means for the Republican Party? Look at Florida. The governor here, Ron DeSantis, takes about two days, wipes out all of Virginia’s gains. What a week! The Texas map was upheld in a court of law. Florida, of course, officially draws up a new map. The Supreme Court bans race-based congressional districts. Do you realize that with these developments, the Republicans can gain 22 seats in Congress? Gosh, what did I tell you about my lucky song? Huh? What did I tell you? Don’t play it, Eric. Do not play it. You play that song very judiciously because we need it for when we need to bring out the big weapon. My lucky song came through. Eric played it yesterday. It was part of rotation. It’s my lucky song. Whenever it plays, good things happen. Yesterday, a whole bunch of great things happened after we got out of this studio. We’ve got a lot of good things to embrace today. And, of course, James Comey, the disgraced former FBI director… who did that stupid stunt with the Kill Trump with the seashells on the beach. They indicted him. The Department of Justice is now pushing to seize the profits from the book that he was promoting when he pulled that stupid stunt. I mean, that’s what he was trying to do. He wanted to get attention. He wanted to fire people up. He wanted people to… to buy his book. Okay, excuse you. He wanted people to buy a book, buy his books, and look what happened. He gets arrested for 86-47, and everybody knows what he meant. Somebody texted me, a well-meaning person from Texas. Now, Mike, 86 means to get rid of the dishes. No, it doesn’t. 86, any cop, gangster, crime, law enforcement vernacular, everybody knows what it means to 86 someone. James Comey was America’s top cop. You don’t think he knows what the expression to 86 somebody is? Give me a break. And I’ve got to ask you, before we dive into all the X’s and O’s about the Supreme Court and the gerrymandering, of course the Democrats are losing their minds, which is hysterical because gerrymandering was great when they were doing it. Florida does it. It’s Jim Crow. Now they’re losing their minds. And they are losing their minds. There was some state representative or somebody on the floor of the Florida legislature yesterday. This is hysterical. This poor woman marching up and down the aisle. with a bullhorn. Her name is Angie Nixon. Angie Nixon was so exasperated, so frustrated, so mad that Florida’s Republican majority in two days erased the four-seat game that Virginia came up with. Here’s what she did on the floor, on the chamber floor yesterday in Tallahassee.
SPEAKER 10 :
of the Constitution. It is. It’s a violation of the Constitution.
SPEAKER 08 :
I’m out of order, but y’all are doing illegal… Representative Persons Mullica has waived close. The question now recurs on final passage of HB1D. The clerk will unlock the machine and the members will proceed to vote. Have all members voted? Have all members voted? The clerk… The clerk will lock the machine and announce the vote.
SPEAKER 12 :
83 yays, 28 nays, Mr. Speaker. So the bill passes. Read the next bill. None on the desk, Mr. Speaker.
SPEAKER 07 :
Now, look, I’ve got to give her some credit. She coordinated her bullhorn to her pantsuit. It was a bright pink outfit that she was wearing, and she had a bright pink pantsuit. So she made a fashion statement. Now, as the Democrats are melting down, I’ve got to ask you about American citizens melting down. There’s a United Airlines pilot named Matt Dogan. And he changed, this week, apparently, after the arrest of James Comey, he changed his cover photo on Facebook to the seashells spelling out 8647. Now United Airlines is reportedly investigating. He might lose his career. People are threatening to boycott United. People don’t want to fly on his planes. He’s a pilot! For United Airlines, I don’t know anything about him. I don’t know where he lives. I know it’s Matt, according to all the online reporting, his name is Matt Dogen, D-O-O-G-E-N. I have to ask you something. If you’re going to make such an incendiary move, I have to just say this. Are these people mentally unwell? who are willing to risk what is inevitably a decades-long career. You’re not a pilot for United Airlines overnight. He had to build that career. He had to spend, I’m sure, thousands of hours learning how to fly. And he likely just flushed it all down the toilet. Because you felt, as a pilot for United and a private citizen, admittedly, you felt a need to reinforce the threat against the man who’s been subjected to three assassination attempts? Seriously? I know I’ve asked you this question before. I’m going to ask it one more time. And I want to turn the phones over to you at 800-655-MIKE. 13 past the hour here in the Relief Factor Studios. It’s April the 30th. Man, is tomorrow May Day? It sure is. Tomorrow’s the first day of May. Wow! This year is already flying by. I want you to explain why the need… To publicly profess your hatred for a president you don’t like is worth throwing your career down the toilet. I want you to tell me how a United Airlines pilot would be willing to chuck it all. to say kill Trump on Facebook. You’ve got to help me with this. I need smart callers. So if you’re smart, call 800-655-MIKE. If you’re not smart, call 800-123-MIKE. But if you’re smart, call 800-655-6453. Give me your input. Give me your take on how a United Airlines pilot would be willing to post something Such an incendiary, awful, vile thing on Facebook. 800-655-MIKE. Hope you join us. This sounds crazy, but I found that I can make peach cobbler on my grill. Peaches, brown sugar, butter, oat cinnamon, all inside my MyGrilly basket. Close it up, flip it a few times, your backyard will smell like heaven. Food is juicy inside, perfectly done outside. Toss in veggies, protein, shrimp, steak, even desserts. Imagine raspberries and Nutella. Flip it, roll it, one and done. I love it. The MyGrilly is genius, perfect for busy families. I originally bought MyGrilly for veggies, but now I’m finding out I can grill everything, wings, shrimp, fries. I turned MyGrill into an outdoor oven, 100% stainless steel, and you can toss it into the dishwasher, so no cleanup. Now you don’t need to think about dinner. Matt, the MyGrilly guy, has the recipes ready for you, so you can just throw the grillie on the grill when you get home. Trust me, your grill is about to become your favorite kitchen appliance. Breaking now on the Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, the governor of Maine, Janet Mills, has dropped out of the race for U.S. Senate. Remember, she was going to run for Senate as a Democrat in her home state. She announced the move moments ago in a statement on X saying she failed to raise enough funds. to support her campaign. She wrote, while I have the drive, the passion, the commitment and the experience, and above all, the fight, I very simply do not have the one thing that political campaigns unfortunately require, the financial resources. Evidently, the dogs don’t like the food. in Maine. Janet Mills out as U.S. Senate candidate. Speaking of dogs, we love our dogs. We want to take care of our dogs. We want to make sure our dogs live the longest life possible. We want their skin to be perfect, their joints Their vitality, Rough Greens is America’s number one dog supplement for a reason. First of all, Dr. Black knew that it’s hard to change a dog’s food, the same one they’ve used for years. So Rough Greens is simply the supplement you sprinkle on top of the food. It’s packed with probiotics, enzymes, omega oils, and 20 live vitamins and minerals that support digestion, energy, and overall health from the inside out. It’s all natural. It’s made in the USA. Thousands of dogs all across the country are feeling younger, more energetic, and healthier than they have in years. I watched personally, saw firsthand the effects of Rough Greens and how great it works on a dog. My dear friend Joey and Peg had their dog, their cocker spaniel, Jesse, scratching through the middle of the night. Couldn’t figure out why. After two weeks of Rough Greens, no more scratching. Visit roughgreens.com. R-U-F-F. Now, Ruff is spelled R-U-F-F. RuffGreens.com. And I’ll get you a free Jumpstart trial bag. You just cover the shipping costs. Go to RuffGreens.com. R-U-F-F. RuffGreens.com. Enter the promo code MikeG. RuffGreens. So, great. Your dog will ask for it by name. I’m asking you, specifically, what leads a United Airlines pilot to post… 86-47 on his Facebook page, potentially destroying his entire career. These are important people. I mean, look, every time I see a pilot walk through the airport, I think, man, that’s somebody with a lot of responsibility. You’ve got the lives of thousands of people in the balance. You’re flying a 737, an MD-80, whatever you’re flying. And this guy, this pilot, Matt Dugan, changed his cover photo on Facebook to 8647, which, of course, I think normal people know what that means. So the question becomes, what leads an individual to risk it all just to express such hatred? I just wish I knew. I mean, here’s Jason in South Carolina. Mike, they are mentally ill. They can’t fathom that there are plenty of people out in the world that disagree with them. They think they can get away with everything. Is that what it is? Let’s start with Jody in Pennsylvania. Jody, you’re first up on the Mike Gallagher Show. How are you?
SPEAKER 11 :
Hi, Mike. I’m great. I’m great. I’m glad I got through.
SPEAKER 07 :
Me too.
SPEAKER 11 :
This guy did this because there are no repercussions to anything anymore. We have people in Congress saying that we’re at maximum warfare. They’re getting all stirred up, and they see nothing being done to the people that are in high government offices. So, of course, he thinks nothing is going to be done to him. I learned by the time I was in sixth grade, you don’t make a threat against the United States president or you’re going to get a visit.
SPEAKER 07 :
Exactly. But wait a minute. But let me gently push back here. Let me tell you why I think, of course, what you say is logical. On the other hand. If you’re on social media for five minutes, you see all these examples of people who are getting all kinds of consequences for stupid things that they’re doing, right? And it’s not like this pilot. In other words, don’t you think it crossed this pilot’s mind, maybe I’ll get in trouble for this? Do they not think this way? I don’t think he cares. He doesn’t care?
SPEAKER 11 :
I don’t think he cares. I don’t think so. Because, you know, at the point where you don’t care about a career like that, that you put thousands and thousands of hours into and invested years of your life, and you do something like that, he’s intelligent.
SPEAKER 07 :
Or he wouldn’t be flying a plane. Well, that’s what I mean. That’s my point. So if you say he doesn’t care, that tells me that he’s putting his hatred, his derangement, his rage ahead of, I mean, I’m sure he’s got a family. He’s got responsibilities. He’s got obligations. And he’s willing to flush it down the toilet just so you can say, oh, I hate Trump. I want him killed? I mean, post on Facebook, I disagree with this president. Okay, nobody’s going to bat an eye. 86-47? That’s what you’re going to do as a United Airlines pilot? It blows my mind. Blows my mind. And, you know, I also saw something last night. With all these big decisions coming out and all of this epic news that we’re digesting today, somebody pointed out, that all the Democrats have now are lies. All they can do is lie. They just can’t tell the truth about anything. They’re lying about yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling. U.S. Senator Mike Lee took to social media. He went on X and posted a very articulate explanation about just how the Democrats are lying to you about what the Supreme Court did yesterday.
SPEAKER 02 :
Look, what the Supreme Court did today was right. What the Supreme Court did today was to say that it’s not OK to engage in racial gerrymandering. Now, the government under the Constitution is not supposed to treat you differently based on your race. Almost never is that appropriate. There are very, very few circumstances where it is. And this is not one of those. And so there’s nothing surprising, nothing unconstitutional, nothing contrary to the text of the statute about this. The Supreme Court simply acknowledged what has long been the law, which is that with very few exceptions, not present here. The government can’t treat you differently based on your race. That’s not a problem. That’s the right outcome. It’s what the law requires, and it’s what the Constitution demands.
SPEAKER 07 :
Bingo. It’s that simple. But on the other side of the aisle, Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries aren’t taking it so well. He went from bragging about how Republicans are about to F-A-F-O to sounding like this yesterday.
SPEAKER 05 :
And now we’re at a point where affirmative action is gone. Diversity is gone. Equity gone. Inclusion gone. Racial tolerance gone. The Voting Rights Act largely gone. But guess what, extremists? We’re still here. And we’re not going anywhere. And we believe in this country. Not a perfect country.
SPEAKER 07 :
The best part is the muted reply, the three or four people applauding you. Glad to see the Democrats are handling this so well.
SPEAKER 03 :
Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 07 :
You don’t have a weight problem. You’ve got a body that’s in survival mode. No medication, crash diet, or app is going to fix that. Hey, look, the GLP-1 drugs are exploding in popularity, and for some they’re a useful tool, but they don’t address why your body started storing fat in the first place. At Ph.D. Weight Loss, they treat unwanted weight as a symptom, a signal that your metabolism, hormones, and stress response need attention. When those get corrected, the weight comes off naturally and it stays off. They’re not just helping you lose weight. They’re helping you increase health span and extend longevity. I lost 53 pounds on the program and I kept it off. Right now, call PHD Weight Loss. Mention my G. We’ll get you two free weeks in the program and they’ll pay for your food. That’s a $1,500 value completely free. Call 864-644-1900 and mention my G. 864-644-1900. Mention my G. Or go to MyPhDWeightLoss.com. MyPhDWeightLoss.com. No more guessing, no more short-term fixes, just a smarter way forward.
SPEAKER 1 :
Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 07 :
I can’t get over the Florida legislator running up and down the aisles of the chamber in Florida when they voted yesterday to redistrict. This is hysterical. The Republican redistricting map went through, but all Angie Nixon could do is grab a bullhorn. Now, to her credit, it’s a matching color. She has a bright pink pantsuit on. And she grabs a bright pink bullhorn. And as they were voting in the affirmative to pass this redistricting initiative, all hell broke loose.
SPEAKER 10 :
Our democracy, this is a violation of the Constitution. It is. It’s a violation of the Constitution. I’m out of order, but y’all are doing illegal things.
SPEAKER 08 :
Representative Persons Mullica has waived closed. The question now recurs on final passage of HB1D. The clerk will unlock the machine and the members will proceed to vote. Have all members voted? Have all members voted? The clerk will lock the machine and announce the vote.
SPEAKER 12 :
83 yays, 28 nays, Mr. Speaker. Show the bill passes. Read the next bill. None on the desk, Mr. Speaker.
SPEAKER 07 :
It’s kind of wild to see the Democrats melt down like this. I was hoping yesterday that Jessica Tarloff would be on The Five, but you know what’s weird? If you watch The Five on Fox News, they barely mentioned this epic story yesterday. It was the weirdest thing. All week long, Harold Ford has been trying to claim that there’s just as much violence that comes from the right as there is from the left. And, you know, there’s a lot of debate about the indictment of the former FBI director, James Comey, this week. President Trump yesterday laid out why it makes sense that the former FBI director, you know, the former top cop in America who knows exactly what 86-47 means. President Trump laid this out beautifully yesterday as to the significance of of what Comey tried to get away with.
SPEAKER 12 :
Your life or threatening your life with that?
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, if anybody knows anything about crime, they know 86, you know, it’s a mob term for kill him. You know, you ever see the movies? 86 and the mobster says to one of his wonderful associates, 86 and that means kill him. I think of it as a mob term. People think of it as something having to do with disappearing. But the mob uses that term to say when they want to kill somebody, they say, 86, the son of a gun. I’m trying to keep the language nice and clear. They don’t use that term, son of a gun. They use another term. But that’s a mob term for killing.
SPEAKER 07 :
You know, there’s a lot of talk about TDS, right, Trump Derangement Syndrome. Did you see the United Airlines pilot who now is under investigation because he put that term on the front of his Facebook page? 8647, a United Airlines pilot, a guy who’s responsible for the care and safety of, you know, thousands and thousands and thousands of passengers every year. And he’s a United Airlines pilot and proudly posts it on social media. And I’m telling you, I’m going to take it to my grave wondering how folks like this think there won’t be any accountability. You don’t think people are out there getting fired left and right, teachers, nurses? And they keep doing it. Some of them keep doing this crap. This guy could potentially be throwing away his entire career as an airline pilot due to his rage for a president that he doesn’t agree with. And of course, it’s more than that. He can’t just leave it at not agreeing with the president. He’s got to say, kill Trump. And I’m going to put it on my Facebook page. And enjoy it. Well, I hope it was worth it, because I think the guy’s in a lot of trouble now. Coming up, Georgia State Senator Greg Dolezal. Let’s see what George is going to do next after yesterday’s epic Supreme Court decision. Stay with us.
SPEAKER 03 :
Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 07 :
How are you feeling right now? Are you feeling optimistic? I mean, I know the problem with feeling optimistic is you just don’t want to get the rug pulled out from under you. But gosh, what a week. What a week we have had. It’s been pretty extraordinary. And when you stop and think about the best and the brightest on the other side, think about the quality of some of the candidates or the actual elected representatives in the House. And look, in the Senate for that matter, check out Maisie Hirono. You ever get a load of that lady? But some of these folks, this Rosa DeLauro or whatever her name is, the purple-haired lady who was absolutely, you know, had her clock cleaned by Lee Zeldin, the EPA administrator this week. How about Jasmine Crockett? She’s still around, I guess. Check out what she said about what she experienced as a member of the United States House of Representatives and a black woman. Now, you’re going to think this is satire that I’m making this clip up. This is an actual clip. Jasmine Crockett was a guest on the Sherry Shepard show, whatever that is.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m a black woman in America, so I mean, you know. I mean, some people are just like, oh, but you’re a congresswoman. I’m a black woman first. And so, you know, the level of disrespect that is continuously lobbed against us as black women, you know, for me, I’m like, wait a minute now. I am one of the 535 most powerful people in this country. And for some reason, you think we’re on the same level, but you’re going to disrespect me? Like, it’s not going to happen. It’s not going to happen. It’s not going to happen.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, I guess you told us you’re one of the most 535 most powerful people in America. You’re on a national TV show. I think it’s a national show. Is Sherri Shepherd that lady that was on Everybody Loves Raymond? I guess she’s got a talk show now. That’s the best and the brightest. That’s who we got. That’s who we’ve had. Speaking of TV and shows and all of that, a couple of quick pop culture references. Are you a pro wrestling fan? I just finished watching the four-part Hulk Hogan documentary. You know, I went out to his house and interviewed some people after he died because it isn’t too far from where our studios are situated in Tampa Bay. What a life and what a story he’s got. And I have to admit, there’s a lot of aspects of his life I didn’t know about with the wife. I think her name is Linda. Netflix did a four-part series on his life. What happened was a documentary film crew was given extraordinary access to Hulk Hogan and his family. And right up to just weeks before he died, he had a heart attack at age 71 in Clearwater, Florida. But his story about how he put the WWE on the map, his story about all of his trials and tribulations and a good guy and the bad guy and he’s the heel. Of course, pro wrestling is such an extraordinary American phenomenon. Anyway, it’s a great documentary if you’re looking for a little escapism. It’s a fantastic look into the world of the WWE and Hulk Hogan and that whole colorful cast of characters. I also saw the Michael Jackson biopic last night. Terrific movie. Real enjoyable. I know a lot of people, that won’t be your cup of tea, but gosh, that was so good. The kid who plays Michael Jackson, pretty amazing performer. And look, It’s hard. If you start discerning the personal lives of some of these big show business figures, you’re just going to go down a rabbit hole. Nobody could really dispute the impact that Michael Jackson’s legacy had on American culture and the story of this family from Gary, Indiana. Uh, and that became the Jackson five and the hard driving father and the kind hearted mother. Uh, and I saw it in IMAX and the seats were vibrating and everything was going on. It was, uh, it was pretty, pretty extraordinary stuff. So, uh, anyway, check it out. Um, uh, if you are, are, are so inclined, it’s a lot of good things to see. And obviously I’m tap dancing cause nobody’s telling me if we’ve got the guest or not. So I apologize.
SPEAKER 1 :
You could, I’m,
SPEAKER 07 :
I usually can fill with the best of them, but today the crew is a little bit deer in the headlights. So I have no idea if we’ve got the guest. I think we’re supposed to have the guest, but I don’t think we have the guest. So we’ll try to reschedule Senator Greg Dolezal at some point and give you the lowdown on what Georgia should be doing. And this guy’s a warrior. And this guy’s a rising star in the Republican Party. So we’ll check in with him as soon as we get all that put together. Incidentally, Mother’s Day, just around the corner. Want to make sure you know about the MyPillow MySlippers sale for Mom. As you know, MyPillow continues to be one of the most attacked companies ever. Our own government attacked them through Operation Arctic Frost. Recently, a woke company didn’t renew… MyPillow’s lease. For the best night’s sleep in the whole wide world, visit MyPillow.com. Promo code Mike G. Wow, what a week. By the way, one more thing about Florida. Let me give you Congressman Byron Donalds, who was another. I mentioned this Greg Dolezal and what a rising star and a guy to watch in the Republican Party. How about Byron Donalds? Check out his reaction yesterday to what happened in the state of Florida.
SPEAKER 06 :
Democrats have been doing this. They’ve been doing this for a long time. They tried to write four Republican members out of New York, and the only thing that stopped them was their court of appeals. So I don’t listen to Hakeem. He’s a fake tough guy. I’m not listening to Gavin. He’s a terrible governor, worse than the country. Governor DeSantis is doing the right thing. I fully support what he’s doing.
SPEAKER 13 :
Thank you, Congressman.
SPEAKER 07 :
It is pretty remarkable to see what Governor DeSantis was able to pull off. In two short days. Do you think that Republicans like John Thune seem to lack the spine because they want the Democrats to win? You know, a number of you have written me a note, a text or an email, suggesting that the truth behind the fecklessness, the unwillingness to fight, Look, nobody’s debating it’s time to nuke the filibuster. The only people who think we ought to keep the filibuster are country club Republicans who just don’t have the stomach for the battle. That’s all it is. And we know what Democrats are going to do with the filibuster. The part that I don’t understand, to the John Thunes of the world who are so afraid… of nuking the filibuster. What do you think the Democrats are going to do? Heck, they’re telling us. Here’s Hakeem Jeffries this week.
SPEAKER 05 :
Check this out on X. And so the guy’s falling apart. The MAGA majorities in Congress are falling apart. The Supreme Court is a disgrace. And Ben, in the new Congress, we’re going to have to do something about this Supreme Court. And let me be very clear. Everything is on the table. everything to deal with this corrupt MAGA majority that is issuing political opinions that are designed to bolster the prospects of the Republican Party, and we will not allow them to succeed.
SPEAKER 07 :
Maximum warfare all the time, right, Hakeem Jeffries? Well, you also said last week with the big Virginia win, FAFO. I guess now… Shoes on the other foot.

A Victory for the Constitution
