In this engaging episode of Rush to Reason, host John Rush delves into the vital role small business owners play in shaping policies and influencing political landscapes. Joined by Linda Hanson, founder of Prosperity 101, they discuss how businesses can leverage their voices to create an informed and engaged workforce, countering the effects of public education and instigating a new era of conscious voting.
SPEAKER 03 :
This is Rush to Reason. You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes. With your host, John Rush. My advice to you is to do what your parents did, get a job first. You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 18 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 04 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind? It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 05 :
All right, Hour 3, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Myself, Andy Pate, Charlie Grimes, of course, our engineer, Linda Hanson, joining us now. She is founder and president of Prosperity 101. She’s a political pundit, author, strategist, certified personal executive, and leadership coach. Linda, welcome.
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, thank you so much. It’s great to be with you.
SPEAKER 05 :
I appreciate it very much. I am a small business owner as well. And yes, I understand. And part of what we’re going to talk about today is how us, we small business owners, can influence not only policy, but I think a lot of that, what happened yesterday, you know, small business has an effect on that as well, Linda.
SPEAKER 12 :
Absolutely. And if business owners only knew the power that they have, not only in how they spend their money or how they do their business, what they provide, but in how they speak to their employees about these issues. This is, I would say, a hidden pocket of opportunity for people to really teach our citizenry about the basics of economics and civics and It’s been lost because public education hasn’t done it, and now we can see that employees are kind of the last stop, or employers are like the last stop for these employees who have been brainwashed in the public education system. So now we have to keep this momentum going. We can see America wants freedom and opportunity and things, but we have to keep this going. It can’t just end on Election Day, and I think it’s a new era. You were talking about it before. It’s a new era, and You know, we have to rise up and keep this momentum going. It’s up to us.
SPEAKER 10 :
Absolutely. Linda, is it really hard to mobilize small business owners to work together in that way? Because, number one, they are not a large corporation, and number two, they’re not a union. They’re not already organized into this huge team that can mobilize and reach a bunch of people. So how do you do it?
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, I would love to create a huge movement of this. So anybody listening, please join the movement. But, you know, it’s each one reach one. You know, we’ve talked a lot about how Turning Point or other groups have, you know, really helped get out the vote with relational organizing. Well, you know, relational organizing isn’t new. It’s just been done to a degree. bigger level now in this election than in many times. I mean, this is how we do it. You know, grassroots organizing is each one reach one. And I have been talking to employers and employees for many, many years and saying, if you just help these employees understand how these policies matter to your business and their paycheck, Not only will that create better communication in the workplace, so there’s better loyalty, engagement, and retention, but you have a more engaged citizen who can give a more informed vote when they go cast their ballots. I have, when I started Prosperity 101, I’ve been involved in politics for many, many years, and when I started Prosperity 101, it was because I heard business owners telling me that they would leave the state if a business-friendly governor wasn’t elected. I am confident that those listening, many of them have been like, oh, I can’t take it anymore, they’re going to put me out of business, right? Well, but their employees may not know that. They just think, oh, they drive the fancy car or whatever. They don’t understand the sacrifices. But if we help these employees to understand the basics of the economics and the freedom that this brings. This isn’t just about prosperity in terms of money. It’s about human flourishing and freedom.
SPEAKER 05 :
That’s right. I have a story along those lines. I coach businesses as well before I do my program, plus own my own, Linda, and I had a particular… A client the other day, we were having a conversation, and they happen to be employing somebody that has a green card. You know, they’re working their way to citizenship and so on. This is an individual from South America, not Mexico, but further south than that. And this is an individual that this employer thinks very highly of. They’re helping them, sponsoring, if you would, that whole process, and had a conversation, long conversation, about voting. And part of the conversation even went along the lines of, well, you know, why – Why would I vote? This is the employee asking the question. Why would I vote for a certain candidate? And what should I, as I get to the point where I’m a citizen and I can vote, what should I be looking for in said candidate? And on and on they went. And this whole conversation, which I’m guessing took probably more than an hour of employer to employee having this discussion about the very things even we’re talking about right now, huge. And I’m guessing that when this particular individual finally gets to be a citizen, they will understand a lot of the things that we’re talking about right now and will vote correctly because somebody took the time to instruct them on all these things.
SPEAKER 12 :
Exactly. One of my favorite stories about my work with Prosperity 101 is I was very, very involved in, you know, a lot of grassroots development over the years. And for those of you who I remember Herman Cain. I was his deputy chief of staff for his presidential campaign, and he was an advisor to this. But one of my favorite stories was I was doing a workshop in a business that had decided they would have Prosperity 101 Day in all of their facilities across the nation. So I was at one of the home offices, and I had union route drivers at 5 30 in the morning very cold dark morning they didn’t really want to be there and then i was uh talking with administrative staff at you know 10 30 a.m or whatever and i had trained their managers to go out around the country to you know have these conversations so i’m doing this conversation or this uh workshop uh with these union route drivers and One in particular comes into the room, and he looked burly and angry, and like he really hadn’t had enough coffee. I was a little intimidated, but I thought, okay, one plus God is a majority. I’m just going to pray here and say, Lord, I want that one, right? There we go. That’s right. And I just silently prayed, Lord, I want that one. And as we walked through the presentation, his body language absolutely opened up. He started to get curious. And at the Q&A, he raised his hand and said, so let me get this straight. If those policies you’re talking about up there make it hard for Jim over here to pay my paycheck and my benefits, Why do I want to vote for people who support those policies? To which I wanted to jump up and down, you know, and say, you got it. You got it. Ding, ding, ding.
SPEAKER 07 :
You’re getting it.
SPEAKER 12 :
You win.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, you win. And I have seen this happen again and again and again. And what happens is that the employees then become truly grateful for to the employers who really help them understand, you know, the facts of life, you know, in terms of business. And people, we have had this assembly line of education. Think about public education in America.
SPEAKER 05 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 12 :
People come through, it’s grade school, high school, you know, grade school, high school, You know, college, even preschool, they’re indoctrinated, they’re brainwashed, and, you know, they’re taught government to answer, right? That’s right. And then they get to college and they’re taught to protest and ask us to pay for their loans, and they get into the workplace and they have that same thing. That’s right. business owners are intimidated. They’ve been afraid that we’ve had this woke, canceling, you know, cancel culture, right? But it’s so empowering to speak truth. Truth is always empowering. And so I tell employers, look, you are the last stop. You are the last frontier for our nation because we have these people that are 20, 30, 40 years old. They’ve come up through the system. They are now in the workplace, and they don’t have a clue.
SPEAKER 07 :
You’re right.
SPEAKER 12 :
And I would say this election has started to wake some up, but they need grounding. They need a deeper understanding, and that’s my passion and calling, along with helping every election and working election integrity and doing campaigns. But this is my passion and calling to get employers engaged in helping people employees to understand. That’s why I have my podcast. I have an online course. I have a book. I’ll go speak anywhere. I want employers to be empowered and have the resources and tools they need to really start those conversations. Because really, I find once those conversations just start, the employer and the employee, they just You know, maybe they can start to talk just like regular people.
SPEAKER 05 :
Absolutely. Absolutely. Well, it’s been a joy having you, Linda. For sure, given that we speak very much the same language, as you can tell, we will definitely have you back. You’ll be a great guest of ours. And, number one, I appreciate what you’re doing. Thank you. Thank you for what you did with the election itself. That’s huge. We appreciate that. And to your point, Andy and I were talking about this, you know, really up until you coming on today. Yes, there was an awakening yesterday. A lot of male voters, blue collar male voters showed up yesterday. And those are the folks that you’re talking about. We need to reach.
SPEAKER 12 :
Absolutely. Absolutely. And if your listeners want to reach me for any reason, they can go to my website, prosperity101.com, prosperity101.com. And I’m just so grateful for the opportunity to speak with you and thankful for what you do to get truth out. And thank you.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, thank you. We will have you back. Linda, appreciate it very much. Thank you for coming on. And please let your booking folks know you are welcome here anytime. We appreciate it very much.
SPEAKER 12 :
All right. Thank you.
SPEAKER 05 :
Thank you, Linda. Appreciate it very much. Yep. She is spot on, Andy. Again, I had that same conversation with one of my clients the other day about that very topic. And I think what a lot of people don’t understand is these employees in this case, this is an immigrant that’s come here to the United States trying to make a better life for themselves. They’ve done it correctly. They’ve got a green card, all of that. They’re doing things in that manner. And yet are asking questions. Why does this work this way? Why do you do this? Why do you think this way? And so on. And for this employer to be able to sit down and say, well, this is why. And hopefully this, by the way, goes against what Democrats think, because they think every immigrant coming here is going to vote for them. I can tell you right now, this one won’t.
SPEAKER 10 :
Right. You know, let me give you just one example out of dozens of examples, corporate tax rates. A lot of times these they’re fairly new here. And all they hear from the Democrats is, hey, these companies can afford to pay a higher share. And that is going to be able to make them pay their fair share.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. And.
SPEAKER 10 :
You know, they never hear the other side. They don’t hear, okay, here’s how that’s damaging. Here’s how that’s going to change. That’s going to chase business away from the very country you’ve come to. That’s right. Okay. That’s a discussion you can have. And I got news for you. You’re going to win that one pretty easily.
SPEAKER 05 :
She just talked about how you can. It’s not that complicated. Flesh Law coming up next, by the way. If you need help when it comes to civil or criminal issues, give Kevin a call today, 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 20 :
Here’s why you need personal injury attorney Kevin Flesch on your side. He understands the way the jury thinks. In the context of a personal injury case, you’ve been hurt by someone else’s negligence. The idea is that you’re going to try to recover so that you can get back to where you were just prior to that incident occurring. What that really means from a jurist’s perspective is that you’re going to be asking them to award you money. So when we talk about fairness, we’re talking about six people that you don’t know. Those six people view the evidence and make a unanimous decision that will decide what the fair value is. When you’re the one who’s hurt, you have a good idea of what you think it’s worth. The question is, can you persuade those other individuals whom you don’t know and were witnesses to believe that’s what the case is worth? Kevin Flesch understands the way the jury thinks. Call now for a free consultation, 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 05 :

SPEAKER 05 :
This is Rush to Reason on KLZ 560. And we are back, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Myself, Andy Pate, Charlie Grimes, and Trump didn’t win on his own, by the way. Not only did it take a lot of you guys as voters to help him, and again, Colorado voters, did we help or not? Yes, just voting for whether he wins Colorado or not, just simple fact that he’s got more national votes still helps when it’s all said and done, so absolutely your vote still counts in that manner, and And, yeah, I know that he appreciates that as well. On the same token, there’s teams of individuals around every one of these campaigns that make them either work better or worse when it’s all said and done, Andy.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, and it was really amazing that Trump had such a diverse group that was working with him. And before we even get to the obvious ones like Elon and Joe Rogan, I want to take a look at Ron DeSantis. People have to remember Ron DeSantis made sure that we were facing Kamala instead of Gavin Newsom. Right. Because Ron DeSantis destroyed Gavin Newsom in a debate. That alone played a huge role in what happened last night. Not having to face somebody who is that well-spoken. Right. And don’t get me wrong, I understand all the warts of Gavin Newsom, but they had not been exposed like they were by Ron DeSantis. Once Ron did that, that was the end of Newsom.
SPEAKER 05 :
Probably the end of Newsom moving forward, period. They will start now looking at guys like, I hate to say this, but the Jared Polises and so on of the world. They’ll start doing some grooming along those lines. And remember with Polis, he’s done here in Colorado in 2026. They’ve got two years to groom him. Well, a year to groom him for 2028. Right.
SPEAKER 10 :
And they will.
SPEAKER 05 :
And they will.
SPEAKER 10 :
Okay, let’s take a look at a couple others really quick here. Joe Rogan. Talk to me. What kind of impact do you think his endorsement made in helping drive just a few more male votes on the big day?
SPEAKER 05 :
Very large. In fact, I said this on the podcast. Who would have thought? 20-plus years ago watching Fear Factor at night on TV, that that same guy would have an influence positively in the 2024 election. But he did. He did. Huge.
SPEAKER 10 :
And not just through the endorsement, but also sitting down with both Trump and Vance.
SPEAKER 05 :
Just having… that relationship and joe’s not typically a political guy but to have that conversation with he and musk and talking about some of the things that could happen in the future if things don’t go a particular way did that have an effect on male voters in general not just the young male voter but male voters in general absolutely oh yes Absolutely. It goes back to, by the way, before we go to John and Cheyenne, Andy goes back to I mentioned earlier the changes that I don’t think the Democrats really understand in media. They’re so used to TV because they own it. They think it’s the only way to communicate with the masses. They’re sorely wrong, by the way. They’re, as we proved yesterday, many other ways to communicate with the voter. And by the way, TV is dying. Yeah, it literally is dying.
SPEAKER 10 :
Although somebody who’s really succeeded on it is Dana White.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, but he succeeded on it in… Hang on. Dana does it through pay-per-view. I know. The majority of Dana’s is pay-per-view. A whole different kind of TV. Not mainstream media watch the news and absorb everything that way. No, you’re paying to see Dana and his conglomerate of MMA fighters and so on that are out there most weekends. John and Cheyenne, go ahead.
SPEAKER 08 :
Hey, guys. How are you today? Good. Doing great.
SPEAKER 10 :
Andy, you were blowing up your Facebook this morning. I was. I was so happy. I haven’t posted yet.
SPEAKER 05 :
I guess I should. Maybe one of these, you know, I will. I don’t know.
SPEAKER 10 :
I’m just so happy.
SPEAKER 08 :
So the best thing I read today about your state. was if the national popular vote compact would have went through, Trump would have gotten California and Colorado. Right. And how bad would the liberals in Colorado have melted down had that had happened?
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, that’d be a meltdown, and fortunately that isn’t passing. And if they were all smart and looking at that, they would say, yeah, we don’t want that.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, why would they want that?
SPEAKER 05 :
They own Colorado. Right, right. Yeah.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, they put it into effect in Colorado. I guess Polis signed it into law.
SPEAKER 05 :
Polis signed it. I can’t remember how many other states to sign on. I think it was 25. That’s why it doesn’t take effect until then. But, yes, we are signed on to that. Dumb.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, you think they might repeal it after this election?
SPEAKER 05 :
If they were smart, they would.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 05 :
If I were them, I would. I would run that in this next one if I were them.
SPEAKER 08 :
You know, the one winner I was talking to my wife about this is the – Senator, the new senator from Nevada, he gave everything, including his body, to his country, and yet he stepped back up and ran for Senate. Sam Brown. Did he win? I didn’t hear he won. Yeah. I just saw something that said he won.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, you did. I was watching it this morning, and it was still tight this morning. So good, John. That’s good news. I didn’t know that.
SPEAKER 08 :
I don’t know. Maybe the news report I saw hadn’t got him, but I know he’s up a couple of points.
SPEAKER 05 :
No, I just – he will win, it says. So, yeah, that’s awesome. Oh. Very good.
SPEAKER 10 :
Oh, we have a shot at 54 if that happens.
SPEAKER 05 :
That’s awesome.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, there’s a guy that people should look up to more than a lot of other people.
SPEAKER 05 :
Absolutely, John.
SPEAKER 08 :
Because, you know, he could have lived on what he had done, but no, he wanted to serve his country more. And you’ve got to give him a lot of respect for that.
SPEAKER 05 :
As of noon today, he was leading by 6,000 votes.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, and I saw something just a little bit ago, but you never know. They might find a box of ballots in a casino in Vegas and flip it. I kind of doubt it. Sorry. I kind of doubt it. But the best thing is that Kamala underperformed Biden in every county. I know.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, that goes back to what Andy and I were talking about yesterday and the fact that there just wasn’t any enthusiasm for her. None.
SPEAKER 10 :
Zilch. When all you’re selling is hate of the other candidate, then there’s no excitement for you.
SPEAKER 08 :
The other thing that annoyed me about her is she didn’t even call Trump to concede. And she was a sore loser and ran home to cry in her pillow last night and waited until 2 o’clock our time today to give a concession speech. 2.40 today.
SPEAKER 05 :
And she finally did call. She did finally call. But, yeah, to your point, John, she should have done that last night. They knew last night what was going on. She should have done it last night.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, but, you know, guys our age, that was a sore loser.
SPEAKER 05 :
I know.
SPEAKER 08 :
They don’t use that term anymore, but it’s there. So I was kind of proud of Colorado that you didn’t pass ranked choice voting.
SPEAKER 05 :
We did not.
SPEAKER 08 :
And I looked online, because I don’t know if you knew, Alaska had a ballot initiative to repeal their ranked choice voting. And I don’t know if it was finished, but the repeal was ahead. So they’re going to get rid of it. Good. Good. It’s a bad idea. And it’s confusing to boot.
SPEAKER 05 :
It’s a bad idea, so…
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, I agree, too.
SPEAKER 05 :
I’m going to run. I’m going to run, get another call in really quick. Appreciate you very much. I’ll have more time tomorrow. Never fear. Ken, go ahead.
SPEAKER 11 :
Hey there, guys. So I have a question about last night. But I start back at four years ago when I was watching TV. And then President or candidate Biden said something to the effect of that they had a great plan to steal the election. The next day, everybody said he didn’t really mean what he said. And then we saw where they found that truckload of ballots, you know, for Georgia. Well, so last night around nine o’clock Mountain Time, Kamala told all the swing state pollsters to go home and sleep and come back in the morning and finish counting. Why was that? Because we know they don’t go home then.
SPEAKER 05 :
I don’t know. To cheat.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, I mean.
SPEAKER 05 :
I mean, I have another answer other than that.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, I mean, that’s to cheat.
SPEAKER 11 :
See, that’s what I was wondering. Were they going to have truckloads of ballots show up last night? Was that the plan? And, you know, I just wondered.
SPEAKER 10 :
As it turned out, they would have needed a lot of trucks. Just saying.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, but she didn’t know that at 9 o’clock.
SPEAKER 10 :
Right. I agree.
SPEAKER 11 :
Do you understand? At 9 o’clock. And she said swing state people, pollsters, go home and rest. you know so anyway but then to address the guy that said well she should have uh conceded last night what they said today and i’m not kind of believer that uh she did the same thing as hillary since she doesn’t write speeches that uh she had no plans on losing so she didn’t know what to say and the same thing hillary did i agree with that yeah
SPEAKER 05 :
I would agree with that.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, but usually, if I may, guys, usually they do have a speech prepped either way. You’re supposed to. Right.
SPEAKER 11 :
They said she didn’t.
SPEAKER 10 :
I don’t think she did. Wow. Well, you’re supposed to.
SPEAKER 11 :
They said Hillary didn’t either. They said Hillary didn’t either. Of course, Hillary wouldn’t have spoke like a salad.
SPEAKER 05 :
No, I mean, you could have actually probably had Hillary do it off the cuff because she is smarter. You could not have had Kamala Harris do that off the cuff.
SPEAKER 10 :
Right. Well, you’ve got to keep in mind a concession speech is short. Right. Sweet. To the point. So it wouldn’t have been that hard. I would have thought her people would have had that ready for her, but maybe not.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, you know, I’m just thinking I’ve heard her talk. I wouldn’t have had her say anything last night. Not much. Just taped her mouth.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, she was nowhere to be found last night, and they had somebody else get up there and actually say, hey, everybody, go home. We are going to keep counting, blah, blah, blah. You saw the same thing that I saw. And I will tell you that maybe outside of the first hour, that was one of the most lackluster gatherings that you could see on camera of anything I’d seen in a long time, Ken.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, I can totally go.
SPEAKER 05 :
There was no air in that room whatsoever. Somebody sucked it all out.
SPEAKER 11 :
Did you also notice, though, like states like Georgia where the AG said they knew way before they called it that it was going to Trump because he was further ahead than there were more votes left.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right.
SPEAKER 11 :
It counts. but they wouldn’t call it. I mean, it was a strange night.
SPEAKER 05 :
That’s pretty normal. I mean, honestly, that wasn’t a whole lot different than 2016, actually. I mean, as far as the two go, it was very mirroring of 2016, including a lot of the commentary on the newscast, not Fox News, but some of the others, because, you know, Rachel Madcow, she had no idea what was going on last night.
SPEAKER 11 :
Now, I do agree with the one statement that I heard today. It was funny, though. And that is he can do more good now than he could have if he had won four years ago. Because he has so many rich people.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, there’s more people definitely on Trump’s side now than there was four years ago, i.e. Elon, i.e. RFK Jr., i.e. Tulsi Gabbard. I mean, all the Democrats did for the last four years is run people off.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, and also when you look at Elon and Rogan alone, you now have semi-control of the airwaves. Which he didn’t have before. That’s right.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right, right, right. Yeah, and in addition to that, if it had been four years ago, he already had his stupid cabinet. They got to go and get lost.
SPEAKER 05 :
So now he gets to build new— And we’re going to talk more about that, and we’re going to get into depth on that. Ken, I’m going to let you go. We’ve got Scott Garlis coming up. No, I’ll let you go, but we’re going to get in depth on the cabinet end of things on Tuesday. This one will be better. Yeah, Andy and I will kind of dive into some of that. There’s already some folks picked where they’ll end up in the cabinet. Of course, nobody knows, but there’s— A two-month advance, maybe three advance on the cabinet from where he was in 2016.
SPEAKER 10 :
Easy.
SPEAKER 05 :
Or 2017, I guess I could say.
SPEAKER 10 :
Agreed.
SPEAKER 05 :
Huge difference. So we’ll be back. We’ll talk to Scott Garlis here in a moment, find out what Wall Street thinks of all of this, because I think stocks are way up in light of last night. Hi-Fi Plumbing is next. Don’t forget they do electrical now as well. 877-WE-HIGH-5.
SPEAKER 20 :
The day after Thanksgiving is the busiest plumbing day of the year. Don’t let your home get stopped up. Just call High Five. During the holidays, your plumbing works overtime. Visitors and guests, big meals, we don’t need to tell you. And when your main line gets clogged, your floor and sink drains can back up, causing flooding. And even if it hasn’t gotten to the point of backing up yet, you still have a big problem that gets bigger every day. It’s recommended that you have a plumbing inspection early, and an inspection from High Five can be scheduled as soon as the same day. For a limited time, they’ll give you an additional $35 off a drain cleaning just for being a KLZ listener. So find out more about what High Five Plumbing, Electrical, Heating, and Cooling can do for you this holiday season by clicking their link on the klzradio.com advertisers page.

SPEAKER 04 :
Now, back to Rush to Reason, presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 05 :
All right, we’ll get Scott on here in just a moment, find out what’s going on on Wall Street. Andy, you were just tracking, though, that last caller, Ken, talking about what’s going on, or John, I guess, was talking about what’s going on in Nevada. Yeah. And that might actually turn out.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, we might have a chance. I mean, we’ve been losing some others. We lost Michigan. We lost Wisconsin. I’m talking for the Senate. But in Sam Brown right now, he does have a, I believe, 6,000 vote lead. Right. But only 86% of the expected vote has come in. But what matters is which counties have not come in. And the one that has not come in the most is Nye County, like Bill Nye the science guy. And only 55% has come in there. But what has come in, he has won almost three quarters of that vote, which means it’s a very Republican county that still has a lot to come in. He could win.
SPEAKER 05 :
Gotcha. Okay. Scott Garlis joining us now. Scott, how are you, sir? Hey, John. I’m well. How are you? Good. Is Wall Street celebrating today or are they down in the dumps?
SPEAKER 09 :
uh wall street was definitely celebrating today okay i i saw they were kind of starting to celebrate early last night even uh yeah it kind of you know it was interesting i was up till about one o’clock me too yeah that’s when i went to bed and um they got back up at like 5 15 and it was right around that time that they wound up calling in trump’s favor um but yeah you you could see that The predicted markets, a couple of these other betting markets, really the spread started to widen out big time. And I think when I went to bed, I was counting all the states that were leaning in Trump’s favor, put him around 308 on the electoral college number.
SPEAKER 05 :
Right.
SPEAKER 09 :
So that would be, you know, I think we’re still stuck at 277 right now.
SPEAKER 05 :
I haven’t looked. Andy, do you know?
SPEAKER 10 :
No. Oh, no.
SPEAKER 05 :
It’s higher now, right?
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, Trump’s over 300 now.
SPEAKER 09 :
Oh, he’s over $300 now.
SPEAKER 10 :
Okay, yeah. $295 officially, but he’s going to go over $300. Go ahead.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. So that’s when the market started to look at things very differently. You know, today, in particular, you had small caps really took off. The Russell 2000 index or the We can look at the Russell 2000 ETF, closed up about 6%.
SPEAKER 05 :
Is that because the market feels like Trump will come in, rates are going to drop probably tomorrow, these particular entities will get a little bit of a bump from the Trump administration, that’ll help them out, is that why?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, so Russell 2000, why people like to refer to that is because that is an index comprised of small cap companies. Sure. If you look at the revenue makeup of all the members of the Russell 2000 Index and where the bulk of their revenues come from, about 75% of those revenues come from inside the United States. Versus if you look at the broader S&P 500, they get like 45% of their revenues from overseas. So if you want to think about the U.S., you think about the Russell 2000. And that’s why, you know, look, the S&P 500 rallied 2.5% today, which is huge. But for the Russell 2000 to go up 6%, that’s massive. And that’s saying Wall Street saying, hey, look, we think Trump is really going to enact policies that are going to help companies based at home.
SPEAKER 05 :
Okay. All right. Now, other things that happened on Wall Street, well, hang on, let me back up. Other things that happened last night outside of Wall Street is the crypto sides of things. Immediately, as Trump started to do better and better, jumped, I think Bitcoin went up like 7,000 last night, if I’m not mistaken.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, that’s off the top of my head. I’m not, hang on a second, I can look, but yes, that’s, That sounds about right. It’s because they look at Trump as being more pro-crypto. You know, actually, if you take it a step further, they look at Trump, Wall Street looks at Trump as being less regulatory. And he’s going to back off on companies. And, you know, they’re not going to have regulators in crypto’s face all the time trying to say this out of the other thing or saying, gee, people are making a lot of money off this. This isn’t fair to people that aren’t invested. I have to stop this from happening. It’s more the Trump administration has looked at as sort of letting industry do what it can do versus well, if you make money, you must be a bad guy. We have to put the brakes on whatever you’re doing.
SPEAKER 05 :
Gotcha. Okay. Now, going back to the election last night and some of the betting odds, you mentioned that a moment ago, and this is a question for you and Andy as well. As I was listening last night, and you’re looking at the betting odds, and those things are coming in and really coming in strong for Trump, more so than what even some of the calls are on individual electoral votes and so on. I mean… How often are those guys wrong? Because last night they were spot on.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. You know, it’s a relatively new phenomenon, the last couple of election cycles. So for me to say how often they’re right or wrong, I couldn’t give you an exact number, but I think it’s like what’s the one real clear politics, their betting gauge has been pretty accurate.
SPEAKER 05 :
Okay. Andy, your thoughts on that? I mean, do these guys have a lot of data they’re sucking in to come up with that or what?
SPEAKER 10 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 05 :
Okay. Meaning they’re fairly accurate. They’re very accurate. Because there’s money on the line.
SPEAKER 09 :
Oh, yes. Okay. What I will tell you is where I really saw it get interesting was when I was watching NBC News, and there was a point last night in the coverage around like 10 o’clock, 10, 15, my time-ish. They all of a sudden went really south. on, uh, on Kamala’s chances of winning. And you can just, you could see the betting markets all of a sudden that you, the, the column of betting odds went way down and Trump shot up to like 90%. And they just, they just knew when these guys were drilling down on these individual counties and they were starting to show how Trump was really outperforming what he did against Biden last time. And Harris was underperforming Biden. And then they were showing how there was even a shot at that point at Trump taking Virginia. I think that’s when the betting markets are like, he’s going to really win.
SPEAKER 05 :
Okay. Specific question, and this because of Elon Musk’s involvement with the campaign. He’s now going to be an advisor to the president in regards to spending and things along those lines. Okay. and then he’s also getting ready to put online, which maybe most people don’t know, but he’s getting ready to put on one of the largest AI, uh, server, uh, buildings that you can come up with. I mean, he’s doing things right now. Scott, no one else is doing is now a good time to buy Twitter slash X stock, given it’s only $13 a share.
SPEAKER 09 :
Can, uh, you know, I haven’t looked at that. Is it, is it still a publicly traded company? I thought it was, um,
SPEAKER 05 :
I haven’t looked at that one in a long time. You would know better than I. I thought it was still publicly traded, because I didn’t think it had taken it private yet, but I could be wrong on that.
SPEAKER 09 :
I don’t see TWTR as a publicly traded stock anymore.
SPEAKER 05 :
So he took that offer right now?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, but again, I could be wrong. But yeah, I don’t see, I’m looking, and I’m looking, I could be, there could have been a i’m even typing the name twitter i don’t i don’t see anything if i if i type in x uh that’s united states steel yeah i have to type in x twitter to get x twitter stock is what i do x twitter uh it’s x and i don’t know what the i don’t i guess i should look and see what the ticker symbol even is well regardless i mean if you can’t buy you can’t buy it doesn’t make any difference at that point yeah no no no it’s but i mean if you can and i just don’t know the symbol um Yeah, I would think it’s a decent investment.
SPEAKER 05 :
And I guess the other question would be, if it is off and it comes back on, would that be a good time to look at it, knowing everything Elon’s doing right now?
SPEAKER 09 :
No, it would not. Because if it was off and they refiled and did a new public offering, the demand is probably going to be so crazy hot, I would think, on the initial public offer, that the thing is going to go gangbusters.
SPEAKER 05 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 09 :
I would wait for it to go public. It’s no guarantee, but it usually happens. Like they take off the first couple days, there’s a big reset, and they drop. And then you step in and buy, and they go. Like that happened to Facebook when they initially went public. And now Facebook is, I mean, this thing’s gone.
SPEAKER 05 :
So in 20, he did, and I did just read, it’s not public yet. He did take it private, and you know him. He will take it public again at some point.
SPEAKER 09 :
Oh, my goodness, yes. I mean, why not cash in?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, as you know, he most likely will. And then, again, with the AI end of things he’s got coming on, which, you know, ultimately, not to get off on a side note, but, you know, his ultimate goal is to make Twitter do a lot more than just posting what you feel right now.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, completely. I think it’s like Grok is one of the, or Grok is maybe the name of it. That’s the AI, yes. Yeah, yeah. And so, yeah, just with all the data they have and all the information they have, definitely wants to make it easier to use. And I get it. I mean, look at Palantir put up some really good numbers. I believe it was a couple days ago when the stock shot up 13%. It was all AI-driven. I know we’ve talked about NVIDIA a bit in the past. We talked about the summer when it was maybe $100, and this thing’s at $145 right now. It’s going to new all-time highs if it’s not right there. Yeah, just all the positives we’re hearing in earnings, AI is definitely a driver.
SPEAKER 05 :
What else do you see with the things that now Trump will come in and do in regards to, you know, and we don’t know exactly. He hasn’t said he’s not president yet. He won’t be inaugurated until January, of course. But when it comes to tariffs and things along those lines, is there any particular sectors people should be looking at? Is there any great deals along those lines? And again, we don’t know exactly what he’s going to tariff, but you and I both know he is going to do things to try to move things back to the U.S.,
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, you know, I wouldn’t want to be invested in solar stocks right now.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, I was hearing they were plummeting.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, because of their exposure to China. Right. So what you’re going to see is you’re going to see Lighthizer is going to come back in in some capacity up front, and they’re going to go after China right away because China never lived up to the phase one trade agreement that they signed, was it 2019? Right. I would think steel companies in the U.S., they’re probably going to see prices go up because they’re going to jack tariffs up on steel companies over in China to stop them from dumping. Tesla, that took off today.
SPEAKER 05 :
I saw that.
SPEAKER 09 :
You’re probably going to see huge tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right.
SPEAKER 09 :
Europe has a problem right now where China has literally been dumping electric vehicles into their ports where they can’t get other goods in there because there aren’t any delivery vehicles scheduled to take these electric vehicles out of the ports.
SPEAKER 05 :
Right, and they’re full.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, it’s the worst kind of dumping in the world.
SPEAKER 05 :
I’ve seen that. Okay, but before I let you go, oil. That’s always a big deal. It affects a lot of things globally. It’s up a tad right now, although it’s been fluctuating even since the news of the election last night. Where do you see it headed?
SPEAKER 09 :
uh you know i think oil is going to go sideways to down a little bit but i think what’s going to happen is trump is going to what he said is he’s going to unleash american energy yep and he’s going to get oil companies here producing more natural gas producing more i think for those companies it’s going to be really good because that they’re going to they’re going to be allowed to sell more make more money um Ultimately, if he can get the American economy really going like some of these bets are being made, eventually oil should start to pick up again and improve margins in that industry. So that could be another great industry. One other industry I would point out is the banking industry, the large caps like J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley. With Trump coming into office, we’re going to see Lena Kahn go away. Right now, half of the S&P 500 is has some sort of DOJ or FTC investigation against them, that’s going to stop and we’re going to see M&A activity pick back up. So those banks are going to make big fees on those deals.
SPEAKER 05 :
All right. Good to know. Scott, as always, I appreciate it. What’s the best way folks find you?
SPEAKER 09 :

SPEAKER 20 :
Veteran Windows and Doors challenge you to ask every window and door salesperson about the ratings of their windows and doors. Owner Dave Bancroft knows other window and door companies are trained only to sell, not on whether their windows are even engineered for your home. Dave has an app where he can show you the exact door the other company showed you, but Dave will also include the correct efficiency ratings and codes necessary for your home. The other companies’ doors often don’t meet code, energy-efficient ratings, or give you crucial tax credits on your products. Also, Veterans installation methods are far stricter than other companies. They do more flashing, sealing, and installation than is required to ensure your windows and doors are going to work the way they’re supposed to. And Veteran now offers financing. Get 40% off and free installation when working with Veteran windows and doors by going to klzradio.com.

Right. Every Friday I do movie reviews. I’ve been saying for two, three years, go woke, go broke, light year, strange world, things like this. People, the market is moving that way. They’re tired of wokeness. And the tip of that iceberg spoke last night.

Tariffs, Truckers, and Tragedy: Politics Meets the Road
