SPEAKER 03 :
It’s the Kim Munson Show, analyzing the most important stories.
SPEAKER 14 :
I find that it takes work to get your brain around these ideas, and it takes work to engage in these conversations.
SPEAKER 03 :
The latest in politics and world affairs.
SPEAKER 14 :
With what is happening down at the Statehouse, I used to think that it was above my pay grade to read the legislation, and it’s not.
SPEAKER 03 :
Today’s current opinions and ideas.
SPEAKER 14 :
I see big danger in as much as we will be giving an unelected bureaucrat the power to make rules about what we inject into our bodies.
SPEAKER 03 :
Is it freedom or is it force? Let’s have a conversation.
SPEAKER 14 :
Indeed, let’s have a conversation. And welcome to the Kim Munson Show. Thank you so much for joining us. You’re each treasured, you’re valued, you have purpose. Today, strive for excellence, take care of your heart, your soul, your mind, and your body. My friends, we were made for this moment. And thank you to the team I get to work with. That’s producer Joe, Luke, Rachel, Zach, Echo, Charlie, Mike, and all the Crawford Broadcasting team. And I just want to get through that because you have a new look today. Right, Joe?
SPEAKER 20 :
I’m looking a little bit different.
SPEAKER 14 :
And thanks for all your great work. Joe, you and I, for next week, so ideally what we like to do for the team is to have some respite. And so we do prerecords typically for Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, Easter week, and the Fourth of July. What we’re going to do for next week is we have some beautiful evergreen shows that we’re going to host. You know, spiff them up a little bit. And that’s what we’ll broadcast next week. But there’s some just golden nuggets in those shows that we selected. Producer Joe.
SPEAKER 20 :
Yeah, I remember them from one year or last year when I first was doing all of this. It was they were really, really great shows.
SPEAKER 14 :
And so we will be doing that next week. I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week. Advent is a week from Sunday. It’s just hard to believe. My father, which passed away last year on December 1st, he would always say, time waits on no one. And he wasn’t kidding. But we’ve got a great show planned for you. I want to say thank you to the Harris family for their gold sponsorship of the show. We greatly appreciate that. Check out the website. That’s Kim Munson, M-O-N-S-O-N.com. Sign up for our weekly email newsletters. You’ll get first look at our upcoming guests as well as our most recent essays. You can email me at Kim at KimMunson.com. The text line is 720-605-0647. Thank you to all of you who support us. We’re an independent voice. We are exercising our right of freedom of speech here. You can hear the show on all the KLC 560 platforms. And we’ve got a big broadcast reach north into Wyoming, south into New Mexico, east into Kansas and Nebraska, and west up into the mountains. And our platforms are KLC 560 AM. KLZ 100.7 FM, the KLZ website, so you can listen anywhere in the world, and the KLZ app. We do post the summaries of the show with a podcast embedded in it on the website. If you just click on that image, you will be able to find it. And once that happens, those podcasts are also on Spotify and iTunes. We look at these issues by searching for truth and clarity, by looking at these issues through this lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. Something’s a good idea, you shouldn’t have to force people to do it. And it’s never compassionate to take other people’s stuff. whether or not it’s their rights, their property, freedom, livelihood, opportunity, or lives via force. And force could be a weapon, policy, unpredictable and excessive taxation, fear, coercion, government-induced inflation, the World Economic Forum and their agenda, the globalist elites, the United Nations, Colorado State Legislature, this Colorado governor, he wants to take away your car, World Health Organization, land use codes, zoning regulations, and force fees. Producer Joe, now that I’ve got through that, it’s time for break, right? Right. But remember, my friends, if something’s a good idea, then you should not have to use force to implement it. And on the show, we want to focus on the issues and the people pushing them, but we don’t want to get into this eighth grade girl fight. I didn’t like eighth grade. Eighth grade was not that much fun with all those girls, and so I don’t want to do that in politics either. Very pleased to have in studio with me Dennis Haynes, and he is the president of Liberty Toastmasters North, and today is Liberty Toastmasters Day. It’s great to have you here, Dennis.
SPEAKER 18 :
Thanks, Kim. It’s an honor to be on your show. Thank you for having me.
SPEAKER 14 :
You’re an old hat at this now.
SPEAKER 18 :
I guess so. This is my third time.
SPEAKER 14 :
And that’s one of the perks of being president, is that you get to come in and co-host the show. And I actually know that there are people that kind of re-up for being president after they’ve, you know, maybe taken a hiatus because they, a lot of things, but just this little perk, I think they like that too.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah. Yeah. It’s great. When Bob volunteered, Vaughn told me that I was going to be the next president, I was very nervous. I said, are you sure you want me to do that? I have two kids, young kids at home, very busy job. I manage 70 some people. I was nervous, but then I thought about why I was in Toastmasters. I’m there to build my leadership skills, build my public speaking skills. I want to be a better leader, and why not take on the role of president?
SPEAKER 14 :
And thank you for doing that. So you’re the president of Liberty Toastmasters North. I’m a member of Liberty Toastmasters Denver, and we just had our Gosh, 15th anniversary, if you can believe that. And Brad Beck, who’s a regular guest on the show, and he does host the show sometimes for me as a guest host and also an author for us. He was one of the co-founders. And I really tell him that I credit Liberty Toastmasters with helping me get my voice back because I’d crashed and burned in front of about 1,000 people and lost my confidence. But one of the things I did want to mention that it really served me well, particularly when I was on city council, is the evaluation component. And I’ve got to think with you, managing 70 people, I think we think about Toastmasters and speaking. But this evaluation component of evaluating speeches, it’s been just golden, I think. And I’ve got to think that’s been good for you. Oh my gosh, yeah.
SPEAKER 18 :
The feedback is huge. I ask for it in real life outside of Toastmasters all the time. But in Toastmasters, I mean, it’s going to happen regardless. And you have a general evaluator who’s evaluating the overall meeting and how well it runs. You have your grammarian who’s watching everybody’s filler words and looking for really good quotes or powerful statements or words that people are using. So it’s not just the speech evaluations. You have a timer timing everybody’s speeches. You have to stay on time, which is good practice because it’s very hard to stay on time. It is. Especially if you go off the cuff and start rambling, which I tend to do.
SPEAKER 14 :
And that’s another interesting point is the timing. Because when I was on city council, I was at a luncheon, and they said that each city council person could have a couple of minutes to speak. And I had this great story that I wanted to share. I thought it was a great story. But I went over my time. And what I realized is, once people realize that she’s starting to go over her time, they start to not pay attention. Because in a way, it’s like you haven’t kept the deal. And that was a really important lesson for me. And I heard, I’ll just put a national speaker, a woman, was down at the Broadmoor, and she gave an excellent speech to begin with. But then she went over. And so the hook, the moderator stood up. You know, that’s always kind of the key when you start to see the moderator stand up and come over. That’s really the message that it’s time to wrap it up. Dennis, I kid you not. She went on for another 30 minutes.
SPEAKER 20 :
Oh, my gosh.
SPEAKER 14 :
And I… I’m really not interested in watching her much anymore because she didn’t keep the deal. And I think that’s why timing is so important. And also, if you’re going to make public comments at city council, school board, down at the state house, many times they’ll only give you two to three minutes. And you think that’s not a long time. But as I’ve said to Brad Beck, in a country western song, there’s a lot that can happen in two to three minutes. And so Liberty Toastmasters can help you make that happen, too.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yes, for sure.
SPEAKER 14 :
So I’m going to get right into this, though. Our word of the day is moot, M-O-O-T. And number one, definition could be subject to debate, arguable or unsettled. Number two, of no practical importance, irrelevant. And then number three, not presenting an open legal question as a result of the occurrence of some event definitely resolving the issue or the absence of a genuine case or controversy. And somebody sent me a meme regarding Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy and Trump. said that they’re going to be cutting the waste in Washington. And I would say these people are moot, if you will. That would be somewhat irrelevant. And anyway, they said that they could start with 535 people that haven’t been getting anything done in Washington for quite some time. Then it had a picture of Congress. That’s awesome.
SPEAKER 18 :
I’ve heard they’re going to publicly post those lists as well, like rating those.
SPEAKER 14 :
Can you imagine? And I guess they’re going to do a podcast.
SPEAKER 18 :
Oh, wow. That’s the first I’ve heard of that. I’m learning more about this.
SPEAKER 14 :
Speaking of that, have you seen this? First of all, I love this. Trump has come up with the Trump Bible. So that is for sale right now. And it is the Bible, but it’s also got, I guess, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. And then last night, I heard that he is selling Trump watches online. and then I heard he’s selling Trump sneakers. I’m like, oh my gosh, this guy is something else. It just, it gets my funny bone. I think it’s hysterical. That’s awesome. But it could be, it could be a really great gift. I have a number of Bibles, so I kind of think everybody does, but I think a lot of people don’t have a Bible. So this could be a really interesting Christmas gift. And he and Lee Greenwood, I guess, have partnered up on this. So I’m He’s just, he’s quite the marketer, isn’t he? So you’re… Perfect example of capitalism, right? Exactly, which is what we’re, well done. That’s what we’re going to be talking about. But again, try to use this in a sentence today, moot, M-O-O-T. And because we’re talking about capitalism, I thought I’d go to Adam Smith for our quote of the day. He was born in 1723. He died in 1790. He was a Scottish economist and philosopher who was a pioneer in the thinking of political economy and a key figure during the Scottish Enlightenment. Seen by some as the father of economics or the father of capitalism, he wrote two classic works, The Theory of Moral Sentiments and An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. which then became abbreviated to The Wealth of Nations. It’s considered his magnum opus and the first modern work that treats economics as a comprehensive system and an academic discipline. Smith refuses to explain the distribution of wealth and power in terms of God’s will and instead appeals to natural, political, social, economic, legal, environmental issues and technical factors and the interactions among them. And among other economic theories, the work introduced Smith’s idea of absolute advantage. And this is very famous. He said, it is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their self-interest. So that’s Adam Smith. And this day in history, I pulled just a few things. I thought this was super interesting. 164 B.C., again, today, a long time ago during the Maccabean Revolt, Judas Maccabeus recaptures Jerusalem and rededicates the second temple commemorated since as the Jewish Festival of Hanukkah. In 1654, Richard Johnson, a free black, was granted 550 acres in Virginia. 1789, North Carolina ratifies the Constitution and becomes the 12th U.S. state. 1818, Russia’s Tsar Alexander petitions for a Jewish state in Palestine. All those years ago. Let’s see here. Oh, this one. 1963, U.S. President John F. Kennedy flies to Texas, and he is assassinated the next day. So that’s our This Day in History. And it is so important that we have our independent voices out there, and that happens because of our sponsors. And, of course, the Roger Mangan State Farm Insurance Team also. is a great sponsor of the show. They carry my home and auto insurance. He is the president of Liberty Toastmasters North. And we’ll be talking with our buddies here in the third and fourth segment about capitalism. Dennis.
SPEAKER 18 :
Thanks for having me, Kim. It’s an honor to be here.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s always great. And this is your third time.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, seasoned vet now.
SPEAKER 14 :
I tell you what, as I mentioned, I had lost my voice because I had crashed and burned in front of a bunch of people. And so the first time I sat behind this microphone, I could hardly get my name out. So I’m doing better than that today, at least. So I’m getting my name out.
SPEAKER 18 :
You’re like an expert now. Yeah. That’s why I joined Toastmasters, the same thing. I think I said it maybe the first time you had me on. The very first day I got the job I currently have is a manager of R&D technicians. I stood up in front of 150 to 200 people and I… Could hardly get words out. I had a piece of paper in my hand.
SPEAKER 06 :
Was it shaking?
SPEAKER 18 :
I didn’t have a lectern. It was shaking. People could visibly see it shaking. I think I said um and ah 13 or 14 times. I had one day to prep for the meeting, so that didn’t help, but I just didn’t realize how… much work i needed for on public speaking until i got in that situation of standing in front of a bunch of people that i had never seen myself standing in front of in the past because i’ve been with the company for about 11 years before i do you knew all these people oh i’m all yeah but then to stand up in front of them it’s difficult there’s a whole different whole different view
SPEAKER 14 :
And the other thing about this, though, Dennis, is and Brad has said that there are people that they decide that they want to run for office. And so they’ve declared their candidacy and they’re saying, hey, could you help me be a better communicator? And Brad is always great about stepping forward and helping people. But my friends, you have we have to realize that improving yourself doesn’t just happen like that. It takes discipline. It takes time. And so that’s why I really recommend that people, if you’re thinking about running for office or helping a candidate, join Toastmasters now. Don’t wait until you have to get up in front of people as a candidate. And I really wish people would do that. The left, they have training sessions for their candidates. We don’t have big funders that come in and do that. But we’ve got all of these little grassroots things that you can do. And Liberty Toastmasters is one of them, Dennis.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, I could not recommend that more. Be proactive. If you have any aspirations of moving up in your career or running a business, whatever it is, if you think you’re going to have to get up in front of people and talk or sell something or present. you should be building those skills now because it’s very embarrassing when you get up in front of a large crowd of your peers or direct reports, whatever it is, and feel like you failed.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, and I think we’ve all, I think, have crashed and burned. But the key is, is, okay, you know, get back on that horse, figure out how I can be better. And Liberty Toastmasters, I would recommend that. Liberty Toastmasters, Denver meets the first and third Saturdays, 10 o’clock at the Independence Institute. And Liberty North meets in Longmont.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, we meet on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at 425 South Bowen Street, suite number one in Longmont, Colorado. That’s the Boulder County Republican building. If you want to improve your public speaking and leadership skills, we have liberty-themed meetings. We talk about liberty, freedom, individual rights. If you want to talk about that stuff and build those skills, come join us as a guest. We’d be honored to have you.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, I love that. The other thing, Dennis, we don’t always agree on everything.
SPEAKER 18 :
Oh, no. That’s one message as a president. Every meeting, especially if we have guests in the room, I don’t really need to say it to the established members, but if we have guests in the room, I always make sure to tell them, hey, as this meeting goes, you’ll realize that a lot of people in this room are right-leaning. A lot of people are Republicans or Libertarians. You don’t have to be. We’re going to respect whatever view or perspective you have, and you’re going to be critiqued on how you say whatever you’re saying, not what you’re saying.
SPEAKER 14 :
Although with Liberty Denver, many times we’ll go for lunch afterwards, and then that is what I kind of— That’s where the banner starts, yep. Yeah, that’s where it’s, well, I maybe see that a little bit differently than you do, so— So again, we’ll talk more with our colleagues here in a moment. I wanted to bring up this headline, which I find very troubling, my friends. And this is from The Hill. And it says that Republicans fume as GOP absences help Democrats move judicial nominees. Now, the radical activists that have taken over the Democrat Party realize how important the judiciary is. And that is a place that we need to be fighting. We need to be there. And so this article goes on to say, Senate Republicans aired frustrations Tuesday after Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and other party members skipped votes on Monday, greasing the skids for Democrat-backed judicial nominees to be green-lighted as part… of a final push to fill the bench with lifetime appointees before President-elect Trump takes office. Republicans attempted to slow down an effort by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to advance more than a dozen judicial nominees Monday, hoping to prevent Democrats from completing one of their priorities before they cede power at year’s end. However, they were unable to stop them as a handful of GOP members did not show up to the Capitol for votes, which stretched until close to midnight. Headlining that group were Vance and Senator Marco Rubio, President-elect Trump’s choice to lead the State Department, which was an angered GOP members during their weekly Tuesday policy luncheon. I can see why. I totally agree. If we don’t show up, here we lose, said Senator Tom Tillis, Republican from North Carolina, who was visibly frustrated by the lack of attendance and spoke out at lunch. I don’t care what the reasons were. We have fewer than 15 scheduled legislative days. You have to show up, period. End of story. There’s nothing more important. Dennis, I have to say I totally agree.
SPEAKER 18 :
That’s insane to me that our elected representatives aren’t representing us. If you’re not there, you’re not representing the people that voted for you.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, and so that is unfortunate because these are battles. We have to be in each and every one of these battles. And then next, we had Lauren Fix on earlier in the week. You know her. She’s CarSmarts now, and she and I talked all these years about the – the freedom of mobility and what we see with the World Economic Forum and the globalist elites is they want the minions us to live in apartments and drive around or ride around on trains and buses and bicycles and walk and I like to walk but I can’t walk for this and They want to take away our freedom of mobility. And Dennis, I’ve got to think in your business, that would be a real problem, wouldn’t it?
SPEAKER 18 :
It’d be a huge problem. Just getting to work would be a problem. 28 miles… I guess I’d get in shape. I’d probably show up to work pretty late every day.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, just think of the commute time. So freedom of mobility is under attack. And this is, again, from CBS News from yesterday. It says Governor Jared Polis announces Colorado Transportation Vision 2035. to reduce emissions. Of course, they’re always couching it within all of this. And it says he has this plan to expand transportation options. What that means is options that they want, they will be taking away some of your options. And it’s called the Colorado Transportation Vision 2035. And its aim, Polis says, is to reduce emissions and expand transportation options in the state, including walking and biking. He also said it would focus on building more housing near train and bus stops. That’s not the proper role of government. And then he said, today we embark on a new vision to reduce Colorado’s emissions from transportation resources. with more convenient, uh-uh, more affordable, uh-uh, more safe transportation, uh-uh. In fact, I saw driving over here, it was dark out, and I saw a lone bicyclist along the Cherry Creek Dam, And I thought, you know what? I wouldn’t want to be riding my bicycle around at this particular point in time in the day. And, of course, they’re saying this is to protect Coloradans, to give us clean air, and reduce traffic pollution. So it’s this bold and comprehensive vision, outlines goals and proven strategies, mm-mm, to increase affordable transportation options, mm-mm, expand transit services, that’s what they want to do, reduce pollution. We’ve done really great on that. And then… It says save Coloradans time and money to help us progress toward our climate goals. My friends, we are going to be on this. I can’t wait to talk to Randall O’Toole about this and also Lauren Fix. And Joe, you and I have talked about it, how important freedom of mobility is for people to be able to have job, you know, employment options and, you know, where they want to go when they want to go. And this is something we’ve got to fight.
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, and I just got done with car troubles and like just recognizing that without a car, I wouldn’t be able to get to work. So I wouldn’t be able to pay for my home. And I mean, with a car, worst case scenario, you can at least sleep in your car for a couple of nights while you’re trying to figure something out. You don’t have that if they take all the vehicles.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s a really good point. And that’s why, my friends, check out our documentary, A Climate Conversation. It’s Walt Johnson’s project. He financed it. He wanted to have just a Socratic conversation about this whole climate thing. And then we have added on, to complement this, amazing podcasts. In fact… We had one with a Nobel laureate, scientists, experts. And so check all that out. And that is at aclimateconversation.com. And I’m blessed to have amazing sponsors. And one of those great sponsors and a dear, dear friend is Karen Levine with REMAX Alliance.

We search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. If something’s a good idea, you shouldn’t have to force people to do it. In studio with me is Dennis Haynes. He is the president of Liberty Toastmasters North. It’s Liberty Toastmasters Day. And what is our subject?
SPEAKER 18 :
Our subject today is capitalism. Oh, hold on.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s capitalism and… The key to prosperity and progress.
SPEAKER 18 :
Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
There we go. I know I gave you too many pieces of paper over there. And so you want to set this up for us then with our next guest?
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, so we’ll start with Rick Rome. Rick, do you want to give us your thoughts on capitalism and how it’s the key to America’s success?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, I’m a toastmaster, so I would love to share my thoughts on the topic. I like to think of capitalism in somewhat of a biblical context. The book of Exodus, it’s the land of milk and honey. You know, it’s a wonderful thought. Our friends on the left would have us believe, however, that it’s the land of soy milk and saccharin, artificial sweeteners. And the reason being is that they look at it in the context of strictly financial terms. And when we’re doing that, we miss the fundamental point of the value that capitalism brings. I’ll give you an example. We’ve all done those corporate surveys where they’re doing this employee satisfaction. And with a few obvious exceptions, there’s always the money in compensation is coming in third, fourth, fifth, in terms of what it is that satisfies an employee and wants them to retain and stay in that place. And there’s a good reason for that. The first one, is that the market rate is effectively determining what the value of that good or service is. So that’s something that’s going to be leveling across the board, and it opens the playing field for these companies that understand this to be able to bring that value added, that commitment to excellence to their place of business, that type of business they have, and they can attract the greatest employees. When I look at… When we look at this sort of ranking in the marketplace, the way the employers look at these numbers, if they’re a good employer, they understand what it is I just said. If they’re one of these companies that embraces DEI, doesn’t quite understand the human relationship that they’re dealing with in the context of their staffs, they’ll spout these phrases like work-life balance the same way a stripper spouts for a lap dance. It’s a meaningless gesture that’s intended to take something from you of greater value than what you’re offering in return. And I’m not talking about money. I’m talking about dignity. And that’s what the employees are looking at when they respond to these things. Where is their dignity in work? And this capitalist vision of being able to have dignity in work is something that – People really respond well to. For some people, it could be the people they’re working with. It could be the location of the business. For instance, I’m able to go home for lunch. It’s a wonderful benefit that this business offers me because I’m close enough to do so. In other situations, it’s that autonomy of an employee to have that commitment to excellence. So when we’re looking at this from this concept of how capitalism does bring prosperity, a good capitalist society, a good capitalist business creates that environment where people can rise to the occasion and be the best employee, the best whatever it is that drives and inspires and motivates them that they can be. That’s the key to prosperity in my mind.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well done, Rick Rome. And I love the fact that you’re bringing up the dignity of work. And it’s been attributed, I think, to Abraham Lincoln that government should not, we should not give to people what they could go ahead and earn themselves. And so thank you. I think that is so important. And I think one other thing, Rick, I think one of the most compassionate things that one man can give to another, is through their creativity and innovation, creating jobs. And I think giving a job to another individual with that dignity of work is one of the beautiful things of capitalism.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, Kim, someone told me once long ago that I have a job not because I need a job, but because they need something done.
SPEAKER 14 :
I love that. Thanks, Rick Rome. Okay, Dennis.
SPEAKER 18 :
All right, next we have Greg Morrissey. Greg, you want to give us your thoughts on capitalism? It’s key to being the success of prosperity in America.
SPEAKER 10 :
I think the most important thing about capitalism is you have freedom. You can go out there, look for a place to work, look for a place to grow and do your best and earn your capital and earn your living where you’re going to live. And when you go through that whole process, you earn respect. You earn respect. People look at you and you can make a difference. And people live from that. They want to know how you did that. What did you do that? How could I learn to do that for me to be a better person? And to me, a capitalist society like we have here is freedom. But that freedom is not given, it’s earned. You have to get out there and do it. And when you get out there and do it, you become the person you’re supposed to be. You can influence those people around you by doing the best work you can. You can invest in the stock market. You can start your own business. Be the best you can be. Don’t be someone’s robot like the government’s trying to make us be. You can make a difference in people’s lives. It’s a tremendous opportunity for people. And people should realize that. It should be taught how to in schools. Like I’ve been involved with some of the school districts here and how they teach the kids how the banking system works, how to balance a checkbook, how to get the whole thing set up. Know all that before you start working. Know all that, have some little, get in there and make a few mistakes in your bank account, that type of stuff before you get a job. When they’re still teenagers, learn those very important lessons then and then be prepared to go out there. It’s not easy, but it’s the best part for you to grow. Get out there and compete and be the best you can be.
SPEAKER 14 :
And when you do that, Greg Morrissey, certainly we all have ups and downs in our lives. But if you stay true to just what you’ve described here, it will work out if you just stay on it. Because with freedom, the sky’s the limit for people. And I think that’s why… I’m so grateful that President Trump was elected because I felt that many opportunities would go away under a DEI, you know, diversity, equity, and inclusion. And we want to reclaim this vision, Greg Morrissey, of America that all men are created equal with these rights from God of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. And that pursuit of happiness is capitalism, I think.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yes. and be in a part of that society, communicate for the society, and keep society free. Get out there and do your best.
SPEAKER 14 :
I love that, Greg Morrissey. Thank you.
SPEAKER 10 :
You’re welcome. Take care.
SPEAKER 18 :
Okay, Dennis. All right, next we got Bennett Rutledge. Bennett, you want to give us your thoughts on capitalism and it being the key to success and prosperity in America?
SPEAKER 07 :
In America? In the world. Okay. about over in the old world. I’d like to mention that this capitalism has been around since the pre-Columbian times. That the Olmecs and the Mayans had trade routes that swapped obsidian, metals, specialty agricultural products and even without quote civilization unquote the tribes of North America would trade among themselves and as with all freedoms there’s risk there’s always going to be some clown around who thinks it’s going to be easier to grab wealth from someone else than to create the wealth for themselves and trade that good or service to someone, to a willing buyer as a willing seller. So part of the overhead may be to hire people with weapons to guard the goods as they move around the continent. So you need to have some appetite for risk if you’re going to be free to do that.
SPEAKER 14 :
So, Bennett, one of the beautiful things, though, about America is that our society is based on the Constitution, law and order to prevent chaos, and to prevent what you’ve indicated is having to protect your stuff with hiring people with weapons. And so I think that makes America somewhat unique, Bennett.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, yes. If it was really that way all the way, I’d agree. The thing is that the people with weapons that we currently have hired have also been given license by the courts to lie to us, even about what the law is, which makes the notion of ignorance of the law is no excuse a cruel joke. And so I don’t say, I say we do not actually have free market transactions going on.
SPEAKER 14 :
Interesting. Well, yeah, there’s a lot of coercion. Bennett Rutledge, first of all, thank you. And this is one of these things that when we go to lunch afterwards, I want to sit next to Bennett so that we can have more of a discussion on this, Bennett, because you always are very thought-provoking. Thank you.
SPEAKER 06 :
Thanks, Bennett.
SPEAKER 14 :
And thank you, ma’am. Bye. Okay. You know, when he said weapon, I was thinking about people hiring people with weapons. But I realize we do have a police force. And I think that probably is what somebody might be alluding to. that so we’re going to continue these discussions they are so so important and they come to you because of our sponsors one of those is Lorne Levy for everything mortgages and he can help you in 49 of the 50 states just not New York and he can help you with a new mortgage a second mortgage or a reverse mortgage

And welcome back to The Kim Munson Show. Be sure and check out our website. That is KimMunson.com. Sign up for our weekly email newsletter. You can email me at Kim at KimMunson.com as well. Thank you to all of you who support us. We’re an independent voice and we search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. Something’s a good idea. You should not have to force people to do it. And I wanted to mention the two nonprofits that I totally just highlight on the show on a regular basis. One is the USMC Memorial Foundation, and they are raising money for the remodel of the Marine Memorial, which is out at 6th and Colfax. And one of the things that you can do, and this is a great Christmas gift, is to buy a brick that will be on one of their pathways of service. And you’ll receive a beautiful certificate for that. And you can get more information about that by going to usmcmemorialfoundation.org. And then also the Center for American Values, which is located in Pueblo. And Pueblo is known as the home of heroes because there were four Medal of Honor recipients that grew up in Pueblo, Colorado. And a working steel town. Andrew Dix, who’s a Medal of Honor recipient, and Brad Padula are the co-founders of the center. And they have these beautiful portraits of valor. of over 160 of our Medal of Honor recipients and their quotes. And so I would recommend that you put that on your bucket list to get that done before the end of the year to visit the Center for American Values in Pueblo. There’s a lot of great restaurants around there as well. And I would highly recommend that. Dennis Haynes is in studio with me. He is the president of Liberty Toastmasters North. And we’re talking about capitalism. Thanks, Kim.
SPEAKER 18 :
We’re going to go on. Next will be Dave Walden. Yeah, Dave Walden is going to give us his thoughts on capitalism. Looking forward to hearing it. What do you got to say about that, Dave?
SPEAKER 09 :
Hey, good morning, guys. Again, if you’re doing a great job, I’ll just tell you that straight up.
SPEAKER 18 :
Oh, thank you.
SPEAKER 09 :
Hey, bottom line is, on the one hand, understanding capitalism is really easy and straightforward. Capitalism is simply… what you get when you leave people alone it’s the economy that arises just automatically on the other hand it’s not just an economic system because absent government coercion it represents a moral system as well in an economy not governed by government coercions you get what you deserve not necessarily what you want expect or certainly are able to compel that’s because it is voluntary choice is the precondition for the very concept of morality and when you if you don’t have the ability to choose as you do in in capitalism morality becomes a meaningless concept now capitalism, a moral system, not just an economy. That’s because over the long run this capitalist system, if it is free, rewards efficiency, insight, discipline, rationality, inventiveness, energy, the honest value and truths in play by freely providing to others the best that you are able to conceive and bring into existence. And they, of course, do the same for you. Conversely, it punishes waste, error, foolishness, impetuousness, laziness, arrogance, and dishonesty. The attempt to con or compel your fellows into giving you something for nothing. That is why capitalism is virtuous. All other isms, such as socialism or fascism, are in fact evil, because socialism and fascism replace the moral virtues that arise from choice, and replace them with the results of compulsion, compulsion destroying the moral values revealed by choice. Therefore, socialism and fascism, irrespective of whatever descriptive adjective people now routinely insert in front of them, such as democratic socialism or national socialism, which is in fact what the Nazis called their fascism, are simply different pews of the same immoral church, as are all other isms save capitalism, which because it is governed by choice is the only moral system. And that’s basically my view of capitalism. It’s not just an economy. It’s a moral system.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well done, Dave Walden. Thank you. I’m going to be ruminating on that all day, I think, Dennis Haynes. That was a great message, Dave.
SPEAKER 18 :
Thank you.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah. And who’s our next guest?
SPEAKER 18 :
Our next guest will be Marshall Dawson. Looking forward to what you had to say, Marshall. What do you have to say about capitalism and it being the key to prosperity?
SPEAKER 11 :
Hey, Dennis. Good morning, Kim, and Am I to understand you actually put me after Dave Walden? He liked me. That guy is fantastic.
SPEAKER 14 :
It was fantastic. You know what, Marshall? I thought the same thing. I’m glad I’m not following Dave Walden, but Marshall is, and he’ll do well, I know.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, thanks. One of the most influential talks that I heard about capitalism began with the entomology of it. Capital is based on a Latin word, kaput. that’s also where we get the term cattle. And if you think about the modern phrase of head of cattle, that really kind of has the same roots as capitalism. So many people think that capitalism is simply money. Is that true? Well, I think that if capitalism is based on the head, That means that it’s based on your ability to create, your ability to be creative, your ability to marshal forces to bring about an idea or an innovation. So it’s the ability to do something new. It’s finding ways of doing something more efficiently. It’s maybe a disruptive technology that will change how we live our lives. And so how does a capitalist or how does a company know that their product or that their idea is good or that it’s valid? Well, it’s simply because the people determine that it is worth more than the money in their pocket, and they will voluntarily exchange that money for that good or service. In other words, it’s really the ability to sell and to make a profit that is a measure of a capitalist’s creativity, and thereby it’s the capitalist who takes the risk there. Which leads me to the new DOGE program. And I’m so optimistic about this. If they are successful, there will be a huge amount of manpower, of brainpower that’s available, that’s newly available for productivity versus obstruction. You know, many times the government is also involved in regulatory capture or sometimes even graft. You know, wouldn’t it be great to get rid of that? Well, some of these people will go out and be capitalists. Maybe they’ll start a business with some of their former coworkers. Maybe they’ll work for another company who is actually being creative. So if Vivek and if Elon Musk, backed by Trump, are successful, I think that we are really poised for development of great new productivity of products and services. Not to mention, we can get our government back to being able to protect rights as opposed to being an impediment to freedom.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s very hopeful. And Marshall, I want to say thank you for stepping forward to run for Congress as well. I know that you’ve just met a lot of great people. You’ve worked really hard. And I want to say thank you for running.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, thank you, Marshall. Well, I appreciate it. Yeah, it was a tremendous amount of fun. And you’re right. You get to meet some great people across the district when you do that.
SPEAKER 14 :
So now that you’re a pro at this, we’ll have to talk about in two years, Marshall Dawson.
SPEAKER 11 :
We’ll be talking about something.
SPEAKER 14 :
Marshall Dawson, thank you so much.
SPEAKER 11 :
All right. Thanks. See you all.
SPEAKER 14 :
So Dennis Haynes, this came in on the text line. And let me get to it. It says, two biggest things that need to be taught in high school is compound interest. Yes. The rule of 72. Is that it? No, I’m drawing a blank on that. We need to know that. But I’m interjecting that. And number two, how to make extra payments on your home, pay it off in half the time, and save hundreds of thousands of dollars. Says, obviously, banks do not want you to know about that. But yes, we need to be teaching our kids this, Dennis.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yes. Yeah. And and my wife and I make sure we we do that with our kids. We we already have them earning money through sometimes through chores or or. good behavior whatever it is but we’re teaching them the value of money they’re buying their own toys at times sometimes we still buy them yeah without without them using their own money obviously but they’re they’re earning money and they’re learning the value of it and how you have to work hard for it and and it goes right in line with what we’re talking about today capitalism and if you don’t mind i have a few or do i have a minute you do but let’s uh producer joe wants to jump in here and then yes i want to get over here to your wrap-up
SPEAKER 20 :
I had one more thing to add to that unit price. So how much does each individual product in that package cost and how do you decipher which is actually the cheaper product across them? That one’s a big one that I’d really like to teach.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay. I like that as well. Okay. And this just came in as well. And it says, I think this is from Jenny. She said, it is a moral virtue. And then this is by John Deere. He said, I will never put my name on a product that does not have in it the best that is in me. And that was John Deere who founded the John Deere company. John Deere has gone through leadership that had wanted to move towards a woke John Deere. And I think they’re reclaiming that. I’m hoping that’s the case. So Dennis Haynes, wrap this up for us.
SPEAKER 18 :
Okay. I just had a few notes on capitalism. These may be moot points after hearing some of our guest speakers from Toastmasters today. But I have written down that it’s a driving force behind America’s success. It fosters innovation. A lot of people talked about that entrepreneurship, individual ambition. It empowers people to turn ideas into reality. And somebody else mentioned it earlier. I can’t remember who, but it creates opportunity for all, you know, it creates jobs and it helps all of America, all of us live more comfortable, better lives. One other thing I was thinking about last night when I was thinking about this subject, I’ve had so many people over the years tell me that they can’t believe so-and-so makes so much money and why do they need that much of a salary? And I always remind them, you don’t know how much hard work and effort and long hours and risk that person took to get to where they’re at. You have no idea. And they probably earn that more than you think. And then I always ask them, I say, what’s stopping you from having the same success? I’ve actually said that to people at work, people at friends, family. What’s stopping you from having that same kind of success? What’s really stopping you? And when you ask that, people usually don’t have a very good answer because in all reality, the only thing stopping you is yourself.
SPEAKER 14 :
Wow. you talk about a nugget to think about today. And to that point, you can look at somebody who is successful, and we’re talking about from capitalism, creativity, innovation, working hard, and you can look at them and say, with envy, gosh, I don’t, as you just described, or you can look at them and you can say, if they did it, I can do it.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, absolutely. What’s stopping you, seriously?
SPEAKER 14 :
I love that.
SPEAKER 18 :
If you are being stopped, it’s because you made bad decisions.
SPEAKER 14 :
And you can always change those decisions.
SPEAKER 18 :
It’s never too late. It may take longer to get there. It may be harder. You may not be able to go down certain paths, but there’s still things you can do. You can still start your own business. Nothing’s stopping you from doing that. You may not be able to get a security clearance if you have a criminal record. So maybe you can’t go in certain industries, but… There’s still stuff you can do.
SPEAKER 14 :
And America is the place of second chances. Yes. That’s for sure. Dennis, this has just been great having you here in studio. Thank you. It doesn’t go by fast.
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, it flies by. Five to seven minute speeches, they just fly by. You just snap your fingers and they’re gone. You do all that prep work and, yep, it’s gone.
SPEAKER 14 :
And people can get more information by going to Toastmasters International, put in Liberty Toastmasters, and they can get information about both of our clubs. So thanks for being here. Yeah, thanks for having me. So in two months, you’ll be back, right?
SPEAKER 18 :
Yep, I’ll be back. Awesome. Even more seasoned.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, you’re doing great. And our quote for the end of the show is from Adam Smith. He said, It is unjust that the whole of society should contribute towards an expense of which the benefit is confined to a part of the society. And so today, be grateful, read great books, think good thoughts, listen to beautiful music, communicate, listen well, live honestly and authentically, strive for high ideals, and like Superman, stand for truth, justice, and the American way. My friends, you are not alone. God bless you. God bless America. Stay tuned for hour number two. Freedom.
SPEAKER 05 :
We will fight for the right to live in freedom.
SPEAKER 17 :
It’s the Kim Munson Show, analyzing the most important stories.
SPEAKER 14 :
I find that it takes work to get your brain around these ideas and it takes work to engage in these conversations.
SPEAKER 03 :
The latest in politics and world affairs.
SPEAKER 14 :
With what is happening down at the statehouse, I used to think that it was above my pay grade to read the legislation. And it’s not.
Indeed, let’s have a conversation and welcome to our number two of the Kim Munson Show. Thank you so much for joining us. You’re each treasured, you’re valued, you have purpose. Today, strive for excellence. Take care of your heart, your soul, your mind and your body. My friends, we were made for this moment in history. And I get to work with an amazing team. That’s producer Joe, Luke, Rachel, Zach, Echo, Charlie, Mike. and all the people here at Crawford Broadcasting. Check out our website. That is kimmunson, M-O-N-S-O-N.com. Sign up for our weekly email newsletters. You’ll get first look at our upcoming guests as well as our most recent essays. You can email me at kim at kimmunson.com. I do want to hear from you. featured guest uh in this hour and uh boy i i so appreciate her apparently there’s um some out out there someplace uh some people are trying to kick around some new legislation in 2025 that would limit vaccine exemptions for kids going to school and possibly charter schools. So I’ve got to find out about this. So Pam Long is going to be on here in just a few moments. Let’s see here. Our quote of the day. I chose this from Adam Smith, who was born in 1723, died in 1790, and he was the author of The Wealth of Nations. And he said this. He said, it is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. So if the butcher and the brewer and the baker provide a product that you find value in, then you’re going to trade your hard-earned dollars for what they are providing. And if they strive for excellence, do a good job, are efficient at it, then they will make a profit, which is not bad, which means that then they can go out and invest or buy other things. And you can see how… That invisible hand that Adam Smith had referred to, how that can work. And that is one of the beautiful things about America being founded on property rights because inherent in capitalism is also property rights. So let’s see. That is our quote again. One more time. It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. Our word of the day is moot. That’s M-O-O-T-E. and number one it could be subject to debate arguable or unsettled number two of no practical importance or irrelevant as in a moot point and then number three not presenting an open legal question as a result of the occurrence of some event definitively resolving the issue or the absence of a genuine case or controversy. And you do see that in the legal system. And that’s why I’m very concerned about some of these Republicans not being in the Senate for these votes on these judicial nominees by Joe Biden. Joe Biden, the old Biden-Harris administration, whoever’s running things there. And you can see that they’re going to put the pedal to the metal on these agendas. And a couple of other headlines that I want to mention. So this is the one that I mentioned was from The Hill. And Unfortunately, J.D. Vance and Marco Rubio missed their votes on this. And I know they’re busy. I know they’re busy. But this is pretty important that they be there for these votes on these judicial nominees. So that’s number one. I just saw this come across the wire. And that is, this is from CNN. And I guess that was last night. It says the Biden administration is trying to throw a Hail Mary to save the Colorado River before Trump takes over. They want to control the water is what they want to do. And it goes on to say the Biden administration is swimming against the current to get seven Western states to agree to divvy up the Colorado River’s water in a way that would protect the river basin and the West’s largest single water source. and do it before President-elect Donald Trump takes office, according to a source familiar with the negotiations. It’s a Hail Mary to save the lifeblood of the West on President Joe Biden’s watch, he says, to create a sustainable plan. Whenever you see the word sustainable, Danger, danger, my friends. And to provide drinking water for tens of millions of people, irrigate America’s crops, empower homes and industry in the years to come. So hopefully they’re not going to get that done within the next two months. And regarding this water compact, I would really like California to figure out a way to desalinate all that water that’s on their western border, if you will, And if they did that, then they would not have as much of a demand for the water that’s coming down the Colorado. And so I like to have them all come together and come up with some solutions, some creativity and innovation on this versus what they’re going to want to do is to try to control the water because if you control the water, you control the people. If you control the food, you control the people. If you control the fuel, you control the people. If you control the mobility, transportation mobility, you control the people. and the list goes on and on and on this was another thing that i just could not believe i saw this last night and that is that biden awards the medal of freedom which is the highest award that i think a civilian can get in america to the former planned parenthood cecile richards Apparently, this award was not on the calendar, so the press did not know that it was going to happen. They did it behind closed doors, and they did not televise it. And so this goes on. This is from ABC News. Hold on here just a second. It has a picture. It says President Joe Biden on Wednesday awarded the Presidential Medal of Honor to former Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards at a private ceremony. And I did not realize this, that Richards was the daughter of the late Texas Governor Ann Richards. And they call it a reproductive health care organization. Their business is abortions. And she led Planned Parenthood for 12 years. And so under her watch, there were millions of little babies that lost their lives because of that. And I cannot believe that in a private ceremony that she was awarded the medal for of freedom by Joe Biden. So my friends, we’re going to have to really keep an eye on what’s happening here with Biden on the way out. He says there’s going to be a peaceful transfer of power, which I hope that it is, but it looks like they’re going to try to leave as much damage out there as possible. The other thing is this thing over in Russia and Ukraine. It looks like he’s trying to start World War III and leave that for Donald Trump as well. But I’ve got to think that Trump has had conversations with Zelensky and Putin. And so we’ll see what happens. But I think we actually are in kind of a dangerous time with these next two months on what’s going to happen. So stay tuned. on all of that let’s see uh hooters restaurants has been a sponsor of both the kim munson show and uh america’s veteran stories for over six years and come this january one i will be starting my seventh year in solo broadcasting so i thank all of you for all of your support in making all of that happen but Hooters Restaurants has five locations Loveland, Aurora, Lone Tree, Westminster and Colorado Springs and great great place to get together for lunch Monday through Friday they have great specials and of course to get together and watch the games out there and we’re getting into football bowl season and I know that everybody’s excited about the Broncos and And so be sure and check out my website, how I got to know them. They have new offices, and I need to get over there and see their new offices. And they carry my home and auto. And I can sleep a little bit better at night knowing that my insurance coverage is with the Roger Mangan State Farm Insurance team.
SPEAKER 02 :

SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, my gosh. We really do. Pam? Sam, you’re just doing such amazing work, and I don’t know if you were listening in the first hour, but we have this lead-in where I said something about that we could have some bureaucrat in the future that would basically dictate what we would have to put into our bodies. And that quote is from kind of when I first started to know you, when we were having all this vaccine legislation before COVID. And I realized at that point, this legislation that was being passed down there was danger, danger. And that’s really how you and I kind of got to know each other.
SPEAKER 21 :
And that’s right. I mean, the same tactics are being used today in 2024 as we go into the next session in 2025. And what we’ll talk about today is how these very subtle, long term, incremental reduction of rights lead to the really draconian policies, especially with vaccine exemptions in Colorado.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, and we are at the tip of the spear on this. So where should we start?
SPEAKER 21 :
Well, let’s start with there was an article in the Coloradoan in October 2024. And the name of the article is vaccination rates at some local schools concern state and county health officials. And what this article, if we take it apart step by step, is it’s presenting you with a problem that doesn’t exist. So I want to show you where the deceit is in this article. So first of all, this is a Fort Collins publication in a Democratic stronghold with a completely Democratic local government. If you’ve read any of my other articles, you already know that the Larimer County Commissioners, their Board of Health, and their state representatives, I mean, I’m just going to be blunt, they’re just pharma shills. But nevertheless, the reason why you should care about Larimer County elected officials is because they will sponsor statewide legislation under false pretenses, which will affect your right to exempt your children from one or more vaccines. So those are the players. Let’s get into some of the tactics quoted in this article, because I predict in 2025 in our legislative session, you will see a bill trying to restrict exemptions at our charter schools.
SPEAKER 14 :
Does that sound like a plan, Kim? Let’s get into it. And yes, I’m glad we’re shedding light on this now. So and this is charter schools, not public schools. So explain that to us.
SPEAKER 21 :
Okay, so why charter schools, not public schools?
SPEAKER 14 :
Because public schools- Well, a charter school is a public school. I need to make that distinction. It is a public school, but it’s where parents have a lot more control over their school. Yes.
SPEAKER 21 :
Yes, so let’s go some of these. So most of these articles are written by pharma ghostwriters and there’s an agenda they want to sell vaccines and they want 100% compliance. So the first tactic they use is a very deceitful data data span. They’ll quote things like four in 10 students at one charter school, you know, or one in three students at another charter school have not received the required vaccinations for their age, according to our state health department. what historically has happened this is a tired tactic is that many parents delay the mmr vaccine in kindergarten to first grade because the cdc recommends that vaccine between the ages of four and six so a kindergarten student is five years old so even if a parent delayed that vaccine to first grade, they are still in compliance. So this is one vaccine, one small cohort of students. But these pharma lobbyists who ghostwrite these talking points for media and for these bill sponsors would like you to think that we have a huge problem. Four in 10 are unvaccinated completely. One in three students at this school are unvaccinated. I would like to tell you the fact check is 93.7% of our students 3K through 12th grade students have had the MMR vaccine. That is the hard and fast reality.
SPEAKER 14 :
And, you know, I’ve seen this as well regarding freedom of mobility. When I was on city council, I was still learning all of this. But the move to try to put people into trains, they were trying to talk about the effectiveness of trains. This was being presented by one of the staff members, and they were talking about the number of boardings on the train to try to – touted that there was a lot of people that were using the trains but they counted them as boardings that was whenever you got on the train and I said well but don’t they there’s a round trip so it’s really half that number and they said well some people might not take the train home so that’s why we use the boardings but I would say that it was because they wanted to inflate the numbers
SPEAKER 21 :
Absolutely. You have to know how to read the data, and we’re here to help you. It’s another tactic that is this weaponization of the word outbreak. Okay, so here’s a quote from the article. There’s a huge concern to medical professionals and public health officials who fear a localized outbreak of measles, polio, hepatitis B, or other highly contagious diseases. Okay, first of all, the CDC defines an outbreak as an illness, it can be contagious or non-contagious, which affects 7% of a population. This is the threshold which would justify some type of investigation to limit the spread of a virus, bacteria, or a toxin. But we hyper-focus on viruses because there’s a cure, there’s a drug for it, right? It’s very profitable. So a school with 1,000 students would need 70 students afflicted by an illness to declare an outbreak. But what we have seen over the past 10 years in this state is you could have one case of anything, confirmed or unconfirmed, we don’t even know their vaccination status, and we declare an outbreak, right? We want to drum up that fear in the media that will drive that draconian legislation. So a few cases of measles or pertussis is not an outbreak by CDC definitions. In vaccines, they have varying rates of effectiveness. They do not prevent 100% cases of any viruses, nor do they eradicate all strains of every virus. So in other words, getting vaccinated for one strain of a virus. does not protect everyone from every strain of the virus. But nevertheless, you will see this in media and these articles and subsequent articles that come out before session to stir up this, you know, the fear of an outbreak and then blame the unvaccinated, even if these cases are in vaccinated students.
SPEAKER 14 :
That’s so interesting. And Pam, well, thinking about that, I had a friend recently that told me that she just recently had COVID. She said, this is the fifth time I’ve had COVID, and I had gotten the vaccine five times. And I was speechless. I couldn’t say anything. I’m just going to interject that there. I think that’s kind of relevant. Yeah.
SPEAKER 21 :
Well, and that leads us right into efficacy and safety, right? So there’s a thing called priming or enhanced immune antibody enhancement, where mRNA vaccines, 20 years of research have shown, even leading up to COVID vaccine, including COVID vaccine, that they enhance your immunity. chances of getting a more complicated reaction illness after you’ve been exposed to the wild strain of the virus. That’s antibody enhancement. It’s a paradoxical term, but it’s not good for you. So there’s this false belief in 100% vaccine efficacy and safety. So let me read another quote, and they always pull in a pediatrician, a spokesperson for, like, Children’s Hospital. The quote from this article is, every single hospitalization and death, every child that’s affected by vaccine-preventable disease is a tragedy because these outbreaks, these diseases, the consequences of these diseases, they’re preventable, said Dr. David Higgins, a pediatrician. I want to focus on that word vaccine preventable disease because public health uses that term to sell vaccines and draconian legislation. The intent behind this term is to imply that all these alleged outbreaks, which are not truly outbreaks by definition, could be 100% eradicated by vaccine when this is patently false. This term is used to convey that students should not have the right to exempt from vaccines because the vaccines are being portrayed as 100% effective with zero adverse reactions. Again, this is false. In reality, the risk benefit analysis of every vaccine for parents should include the risk of a temporary mild illness, not a disease, compared to the risk of an adverse reaction which causes chronic autoimmune disease or disability. So parents can access the federal vaccine injury data at open VAERS.com. VAERS is Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, and the user-friendly version is at open VAERS.com. So vaccines have risks, high risk. And that needs to be a part of the equation. They are not 100 percent effective.
SPEAKER 14 :
And Pam Long, all these different links that you’re talking about, we’re going to publish this particular article in this Sunday’s newsletter. But you include the links to all of this. So it’s easy for people to do the additional research on this, Pam.
SPEAKER 21 :
Yes, and the link is included in the article that will go out Sunday. And there’s also a denial of vaccine failure, right? So here’s another quote from the article. Larimer County officials are particularly concerned about a recent uptake in reported cases of pertussis, which is whooping cough, a spokesperson, Corey Wilford, for Larimer County Department of Health. Well, this is a really, truly an embarrassing statement from Larimer County Department of Health and Environment because the CDC has reported for many years. that immunity to pertussis following the Tdap vaccine wanes after a few years or less for many people. In other words, the vaccine does not protect people from pertussis long term. And yet the Larimer County officials in this Democratic stronghold with this pharma agenda, they’re either pretending that these pertussis cases are a mystery or the unvaccinated are to blame when in actuality, the quote goes on to say, The pertussis cases have occurred among both unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals. So they’re admitting that the vaccine is ineffective.
SPEAKER 14 :
Wow, that is so interesting. I’m going to date myself, Pam Long, but I actually did not get the measles vaccine or the chickenpox vaccine or the mumps vaccine. I had all those childhood illnesses. And, and again, I’m going to date, date myself. I, I, I got my, when I got my tonsils out, they let me keep them. And I actually had them in a jar and I took them to school for show and tell. Could you imagine that happening now?
SPEAKER 21 :
Kim, that is so special is the word I will use. But I would say thank you for bringing it up because there is now research. We’re in 2024, and many people haven’t read up on the current research. There’s a lot of research that says those childhood illnesses, and if you believe in intelligent design, this makes sense, they protect us. They’re a temporary mild illness that actually protect us from certain cancers and other diseases later in life. Wow.
SPEAKER 14 :
I did not know that. OK, Pam Long, we’re going to continue this discussion regarding this potential legislation in 2025 that may be presented to reduce the charter school vaccine exemptions. And speaking of 2025 and this legislature legislature, I want to give a shout out to my fellow students. Colorado Union of Taxpayers board members, because we are going to be ramping up to watch all this legislation and take positions on legislation regarding your pocketbook. And this group is Steve Dorman, Greg Golianski, Russ Haas, Bill Hamill. Carl Honaker, Rob Knuth, John Nelson, Joseph O’Loughlin, Wendy Warner, Marty Nielsen, Rami Johnson, and Mary Jansen. When you see these folks, say thank you because they have saved you a lot or trying to save you a lot of money. And also a shout out to Natalie Minton, who’s with the Tabor Foundation. uh she stepped up and ran for jefferson county commissioner and uh she was really trying to fight these uh detabering of arapahoe county and jefferson county and rtd and somehow so somehow colorado said oh no no no new governmental entities you can keep all that excess revenue and she worked really hard on that so Again, that’s another thing that we work at the Colorado Union of Taxpayers to do is to protect Tabor as well. And these are such important discussions, and they come to you because of our sponsors. And so pleased to have Lavaca Meat Company as a sponsor. It’s a great protein source. A great gift for Christmas or Hanukkah would be to purchase a brick that will be on one of their pathways of service to honor your loved one’s military service. You’ll receive a beautiful certificate. As I mentioned in the first hour, my father passed on a year ago in December. He was an Air Force veteran, and I purchased a brick and received the certificate, and it was one of the most cherished gifts I’d ever given to my father. So don’t delay. Check that out at usmcmemorialfoundation.org. Talking with Pam Long, and I’m glad that she’s on this because while we think that the legislature begins the first part of January, all of these PBIs, these politicians, bureaucrats, and interested parties are in meetings creating all this legislation. as we speak. And I’m glad that you have your ear to the ground about a possible piece of legislation in 2025 to limit charter school vaccine exemptions, Pam Long. So what about, you know, some of this other stuff like herd immunity? What about that?
SPEAKER 21 :
So quoted from the article that we’re discussing today from the Colorado, it says overall 92.1% of students in K through 12 schools in Colorado were up to date on vaccinations for 2023-24 school year. Wow, that’s great, 92.1%, right? That’s what you and I are thinking. However, you don’t understand how these lobbyists work. Long-term and in previous legislation, they had decided that We need 95% in every vaccine at every school in school mandated legislation in 2020 in SB 163. That schools will report their vaccination rates to the state health department. It would be posted publicly on a what I call it. They call it dashboard. I call a shaming board. And then they’re they’re they’re basically coerced into compliance to get up to 95 percent, whatever they need to do, if that means, you know, removing students from a school to get up to 95%, that would be okay in their eyes. So public health aims to create this perception that we have a vaccine compliance crisis and that we are below the needed rate at 95%. Herd immunity actually was established at 60% of the middle-aged population with naturally acquired immunity. Think about that normal bell curve where you have 60% of your middle-aged people in the middle, and then you have the two tails, which would be our infants and our elderly. And this herd immunity was established at 60% of the population had natural immunity. That was enough to protect our elderly and infants and the susceptible. But these lobbyists have now promoted this idea in media that we need 95% of people vaccinated. And vaccine-induced antibodies is very different than naturally acquired immunity, which is stronger and longer lasting. So if this 95% metric were true, then we would be having real outbreaks defined by the CDC because most adults have not received a booster in decades for these childhood vaccines that children receive today, up to 75 doses now on the CDCs. recommendations for children from birth to 18 years old, which is insanity. And I want parents to know that exemption rights were established in 1978 at the same time that vaccine recommendations were implemented for our public schools. And these pharma ghostwriters and these articles will imply that any school below 95% compliance is putting the herd at risk. And this is a strategy, and I want people to see it for what it is.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, Pam Long, I don’t know where I put it now. I brought it in to, I was over at the grocery store, and you know how you get your receipt, and then sometimes it generates all these little different coupons as well. And this coupon for the grocery store was get 10% off your groceries for every vaccine you get. I couldn’t believe it.
SPEAKER 21 :
We are shameless in this country with our marketing and sale of vaccines, and it is like no other drug, no other product because one, it has no liability in the United States. Since 1986, you cannot sue the provider of vaccine. You cannot sue the manufacturer of the vaccine. And in my eyes, that says danger, danger, red flag. There are no longer incentives to keep these products safe if you cannot sue the manufacturer or the provider. They can just shamelessly It’s almost like NASCAR at your grocery store in pharmacy where the pharmacist is wearing a shirt with his pharma sponsors on it that says it’s a blue T-shirt that says, get your free vaccines. There’s like a tent over the cart corral that says, get your free vaccines. I know. And the coupons, there’s PA announcements, get your sexually transmitted disease vaccine at the grocery store today while you’re shopping with your children. You don’t want to hear that. It is so shameless. And it’s in our commercials on TV. which no other country allows direct marketing from pharmaceutical companies to the public because these commercials do not include all the risks and side effects and contraindications. It is shameless, and people should recognize it, but we’re so indoctrinated into it that we don’t even know this is not normal in other countries.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, and just think of it. So in the first hour, Pam, we talked about capitalism. And that is where a product or service is created that people freely decide that they want to trade their hard-earned dollars for that. And that’s where we should be with this whole vaccine thing. And that is that people would have all the information. They could do their research on it and they would determine yes or no, whether or not they wanted to get a vaccine. But this is where this is cronyism. When you look at this whole vaccine thing with with PBIs, politicians, bureaucrats and interested parties and big business, big government like each other, because big government then comes in and coerce people to. have a product. And of course we’re seeing that you can get these vaccines for free. Well, there’s no free lunch. Who’s paying for that? We’re all paying for that. And this is not capitalism. This is cronyism.
SPEAKER 21 :
Kim, I love your first hour on capitalism, and the best analogy I could come up with for vaccines, because oftentimes we treat vaccines like they’re a different category and that you’ll hear state representatives on the Democratic Party justify, it’s okay to take away your rights for personal choice in your medical decisions because you’re putting people at risk if you’re not vaccinated. And they’ll use the analogy of a car seat. We mandate car seats, and so we should be able to mandate vaccines. Well, the data on car seat injuries is very low, right? There’s very low risk in a car seat. The data on vaccine injury is very high and unpredictable. We don’t know who will react. These are very big decisions for parents and for adults. And the analogy I thought of in your first show was car maintenance. Car vehicles have a very high risk of fatality on the road. They go at high speeds. If you do not properly maintain your windshield, your tires, your brakes, On your vehicle, you could kill yourself or other people on the roads that we drive on. And we all choose every day where we will drive, when we will drive. We participate in the highway system, right? But we would be outraged. People would be burning couches in the streets if the government said, well, you know, because driving is risky, we are now going to create a car registry system where you will be tracked with their compliance on your vehicle maintenance. And that we have mandatory car maintenance every month, every year, and that you must comply. And if you don’t, then you don’t get to go to public school or keep your job. People would riot. But we have a vaccine registry where we track your compliance. No one’s rioting. And what if we had government mandates for replacing parts on your car every year? Right now you have discretion to say my vehicles have good tread and, you know, the tires have good tread and I’m going to keep them for a while longer. And I am not going to buy more tires for my car at this point. But what if the government had you on a mandatory schedule and said, no, every six months you need to buy tires. These tires for your car for health and safety, because if you don’t, it’s putting people at risk, right? People would be riding in the streets if we mandated vehicle parts and we had people in car maintenance registries. People have no issue with vaccine registries, tracking your compliance in mandatory boosters up to 72 doses over the lifespan.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, and that’s where you and I met was, and we’ll get into this in a little bit, was this legislation here in Colorado regarding vaccine mandates. And again, at that point when I realized that they were going to give the power. to some interested party or bureaucrat to dictate what I might have to put in my body sometime in the future, that is danger, danger, Pam Long. And so this is really important to be out ahead of this thing that’s gonna probably be in this 2025 state legislature.
SPEAKER 21 :
And they’re already using all the tired tactics of, you know, they’re pulling out an outlier school that allegedly has only 55 to 60% compliance with the vaccine schedule when we know that our charter schools, by the official data, have 77 to 84% vaccine compliance. But this is a strategy. Pull one school out with a lowball number and tell us we have a problem with charter schools when in reality, in all the times they have done this before, that school hasn’t turned in their vaccination records. Like the parents haven’t turned in the records and the school hasn’t turned it into this state. And when the administration gets caught up after the back to school, you know, documentation process and registration, oh, they’re fine, right? These are the strategies that our charter schools need to know. They’re coming for you. You need to be organized and ready to defend your right, your parental rights and your right to exemption.
SPEAKER 14 :
Super important. And Pam, I just want to make that I was just thinking about what about all these people that came across the southern border illegally? They did not check their vaccine status. And apparently we don’t know where a lot of them are, but they surely they surely know about our vaccine status. I find that troubling.
SPEAKER 21 :
We do have millions of illegal immigrants coming across our borders, and that is a huge danger to our society and to our economy. However, when we talk about disease and we talk about vaccines, I might differ from a lot of people in that As far as people who have immigrated here legally, I can say that often they’re vaccinated again. They are vaccinated before they get to the border and then they’re not given documentation for it and then forced to revaccinate to go to access anything in our society. And I don’t think that’s right either. And when you look at the historical data, which I have at our border, in the last decade, in the legal immigration process, We have seen one case of tuberculosis, which was a border patrol officer, not actually an immigrant. So they are not – our legal immigration process is not – the data doesn’t show that they’re bringing in disease. And I would also say anecdotally, when you have ever looked and watched documentaries on that process that it takes to get – through our border system with a backpack through the jungle, that is a very physically challenging task that if you had any health issues, you would not be able to make that journey.
SPEAKER 14 :
Okay, interesting. Very interesting. So Pam Long’s going to stay on the line. And we’ve got a whole bunch of text messages coming in. And we want to finish up just highlighting some of the things that will be in this particular article. And I did want to mention the Center for American Values located in Pueblo, Colorado. Pueblo is known as the home of heroes because four Medal of Honor recipients grew up there. Pam Long, that’s unbelievable, four Medal of Honor recipients from the same town.
SPEAKER 21 :
It’s so special to Colorado.
SPEAKER 14 :
It is. And I would recommend that people put it on their bucket list to go down and visit the Center for American Values in Pueblo. And you can get more information by going to AmericanValueCenter.org. That’s AmericanValueCenter.org. And I’m blessed to work with amazing people as our sponsors. And text me. We’re going to try to get through these text messages as well. That number is 720-605-0647. Pam Long is on the line and she is a director. of the Children’s Health Defense Military Chapter. She is a graduate of West Point, an Army veteran of the Medical Service Corps. She served as a medical intelligence officer for the NATO Stabilization Forces. And we will be rolling out her piece regarding this potential legislation in 2025 that would try to reduce charter school vaccine exemptions. So let’s talk about this, Pam Long, homeschooling and charter schools and what you think might be coming down the pike here in 2025.
SPEAKER 21 :
Well, what we really need to know for our charter school parents need to know is that the reason why our homeschoolers have successfully protected both, there’s two components to this, both their exemption rights and the privacy of those decisions where you don’t have the nanny state collecting your exemptions, collecting your data, and then manipulating all that and using coercion tactics. to, like, you can’t go to school if you don’t comply with our, you know, the hoops we want you to jump through. The reason why homeschools have been successful in protecting their rights in Colorado are, number one, they had a full-time legislative liaison with CHEC, which are the Christian Home Educators of Colorado. Shout out to Carolyn Martin. Give her a phone call. She will help you. I will help you. And they also had the legal defense of HSLDA, which is a homeschool legal defense association where where homeschoolers pay a small fee every year. I think I paid maybe $40 a year. I could be wrong. It was very affordable, where if I ever had a problem with government intruding in my home school, that HSLDA would represent me. And HSLDA, I have been a personal witness to these meetings, has defended homeschoolers at our state capitol with these Pharma shills, lobbyists, state legislators, and Governor Polis, the Democratic supermajority in Colorado, and defended their rights successfully many times over the last decade. So I would say charter schools, the formula to success is be aware the legislation is coming. Don’t get caught off guard. Get yourself a legislative liaison or some people consulting with you and how this plays out. and a legal defense team that says this is unconstitutional and we will challenge it in court. You better withdraw this bill.
SPEAKER 14 :
So we’re going to have to organize on this for sure. And so we’re going to stay on this. But let’s talk a little bit about RFK Jr. because you are with the Children’s Health Defense and Governor Polis. Governor Polis did like a 180. I guess he’s thinking about trying to run for president or something. Yeah.
SPEAKER 21 :
so uh tell me about that i talked about outliers earlier but the biggest outlier is governor polis wow this has been like just the funnest ride in the last week with the nomination of robert f kennedy jr to the secretary of health and human services which by the way controls more money than any other department in our federal government which To him being the health star, has been appointed health star, to me is very exciting. But then you have Governor Polis tweeting out. Let me read his tweet. I’m excited by the news that the president-elect will appoint RFK Jr. to HHHGov. He helped us defeat vaccine mandates in Colorado in 2019 and will help make America healthy again by shaking up HHS and FDA. I hope he leans into personal choice. on vaccines rather than bans, which I think are terrible, just like mandates. But what I’m most optimistic about is taking on Big Pharma and the corporate ag oligarchy to improve our health, end quote. This is insanity. Like, I have never seen more public backlash from both sides to Governor Polis tweeting anything. I think in one day he racked up 6,500 negative conference people calling for him to resign for a recall. And so. To get serious, generally I like to see support for RFK Jr. for Health, which trended with 6,500,000 celebratory tweets for removing toxins from our food, our water, our medicine. However, Governor Polis is a total hypocrite. He signed SB 2163, which drastically changed to reduce access to vaccine exemptions. Hundreds of people left the state and public school after that. And then he mandated, he thinks mandates are terrible now, but he mandated the experimental EU COVID vaccine for healthcare workers resulting in 5,290 healthcare workers not giving personal choice that Polis allegedly supports now and being fired. And an unknown number, maybe thousands who left, who just quit or retired to avoid sanctions during the COVID pandemic.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes, so hypocritical. But set this up for me. So that was House Bill or Senate Bill 2163. But then RFK Jr. had come to testify against a vaccine bill as well. And that was a different bill, right? Polis confuses. He referenced 2019.
SPEAKER 21 :
2019, we the people showed up in mass and timed out HB 19-1263. I might not have the number. There was a bill in 19 as well, 1163 maybe, or 11, the number’s all set.
SPEAKER 14 :
Let me see if I can find it for you.
SPEAKER 21 :
It’s 1113, maybe. There was a bill, and RFK did call and talk to Governor Polis and express his concerns, but that bill never made it to Polis’ desk because we the people shut it down. But then in 2020, during the pandemic, in the most… insane, restricted, probably unconstitutional process, hearing on a Sunday so pastors couldn’t testify, testimony limited to 90 minutes, thousands of people outside protesting, not able to even enter the people’s house. That bill, SB 163, you were there, you remember? Yep, I was there. RFK came and spoke. They gave RFK two minutes. He flew in from California to speak. They gave him two minutes. you know over his face because of mass candidates which muffled his voice it was so disgraceful and it’s all full circle now because polis works for rfk now so okay now question this is from leanne can kennedy do anything about the no liability by vaccine makers That would require legislation, federal legislation. It was the liability was taken away from manufacturers in 1986 under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986. That would require federal legislation.
SPEAKER 14 :
OK, next one. This is from Mary said Polis put man. Well, Colorado put we have mandatory winter tires on I-70 now and I think chains as well. On semis.
SPEAKER 21 :
So there they are. We the people need to, you know, like maybe maybe in the future, if we don’t keep an eye on what is reasonable and, you know, cost benefit and risk versus, you know, potential safety mechanisms, we could all be in vehicle registries maintaining our cars as well.
SPEAKER 14 :
And yes, all these little incremental things. And I really think Colorado’s at the tip of the spear on this. Pam, first of all, we will be rolling this out this weekend. So be sure and be signed up for our email newsletter. And we have a minute. How do you want to wrap this up?
SPEAKER 21 :
Charter schools, organize, consult with people who have been down this road before. And now, like Kim said, is the time. These bills are written over Thanksgiving and Christmas when people are asleep and celebrating. And then they show up in January and they don’t know what hit them.
SPEAKER 14 :
That is absolutely correct. And I would also recommend that people join the Colorado Union of Taxpayers. That is coloradotaxpayer.org is the website. It’s only $25 per year. And you will get the emails that we send to the representatives, senators, and the governor regarding the proposed or the legislation that is scheduled for hearing for each week. Pam Long, thank you for the amazing work that you do. And I’m so excited that we’ll publish this this weekend. Thank you for all you do, Kim. And one other thing, one of our listeners said, tell people to watch the study sessions. That would be for your city council and also your school districts, your county commissioners, all that. The study sessions is where all the stuff is that you’re going to find out about it. Typically, the meetings now then are just the rubber stamp. And our quote for the end of the show is from Adam Smith. He said, it is unjust that the whole of society should contribute towards an expense of which the benefit is confined to a part of the society. So, my friends, today be grateful. Read great books. Think good thoughts. Listen to beautiful music. Communicate and listen well. Live honestly and authentically. Strive for high ideals. And like Superman, stand for truth, justice, and the American way. My friends, you are not alone. God bless you, and God bless America.
