And I chose that because of the bill of the day that we’ll be chatting about here in just a little bit. But convert is an intransitive verb. It’s to change something into another form, substance, state, or product to transform. This is from the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, 5th edition. Their suggestion is convert water into ice. Number two, to change something from one use function or purpose to another to adapt to a new or different purpose. So convert a forest into farmland. Or number three, to persuade or induce to adopt a particular religion, faith, or belief. Their suggestion is convert pagans to Christianity. And so that is our word of the day. It’s C-O-N-V-E-R-T. And our quote of the day is from Teddy Roosevelt. And Teddy Roosevelt was born in 1858. He died in 1919. He was known as Teddy or TRS Theodore Roosevelt Jr. He was the 26th president of the United States. He was previously involved in New York politics, including serving as the 33rd governor for two years. And he was the 25th vice president under President William McKinley for six months in 1901. And he assumed the presidency after McKinley’s assassination. And he emerged as a leader of the Republican Party in And he was a driving force for antitrust, but he also became very involved in progressive era policies. And I really need to learn a lot more about his life. He’s got some great quotes and some that I’m concerned about, but this is a very important one. And we are pre-recording all the shows for… next week for Holy Week so that the team can take a little bit of a rest, but we’ll still be working diligently. But that 6 a.m. hit is something that I like to give the team a little bit of a break on. And so we had a conversation with Bill Fetterer and have already recorded his show to talk about Sharia law. And there is no way that Sharia law… And the the American idea, the U.S. Constitution could be in the same place. And so anyone that is coming here to push Sharia law needs to be deported. And I would say that’s either. Well, anybody that comes here. and is a criminal in their country, they definitely need to go. If they come here to hurt us, and that really is what we see with Sharia law, they need to be deported. If, in fact, they have come here to live off of the American taxpayer, they need to go. And… And so those are really some of the big reasons. And I know that all these people, the people that have come here illegally did break the law to come here. And I think that we have to start at a, have a starting place. And there are those that have come here to hurt us. So this is what Teddy Roosevelt said. He said, there can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else isn’t an American at all. We have room, but for one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty, and that is the loyalty to the American people. So when we’re seeing those that are, for example, flying the pride flag, and that is an allegiance to something other than being an American. And so as Teddy Roosevelt said, there can be no divided allegiance here. And our country is definitely under extreme attack from an ideological standpoint. And that is why we talk about these issues on such a regular basis, because they are so important. And I want to mention the two nonprofits that I highlight on a regular basis on the show. And Roger, let’s talk about homeowners insurance. That is something that is really important.

Yeah, there’s a lot. I mean, when you think about it, your home is your refuge after a long day’s work. It’s the hub of everything that really matters in your life for the most part, and you relax with your family. So you need to have that homeowners policy with a company you trust and you have a relationship with. And that’s what we seek at the Mangan Agency. You know, when you look at a house, A house is a home, but at the same time, you take for granted the coverages that you think you may have. So let’s highlight some of the coverages that are obvious to most people. For example, windstorm and hail. That’s a covered loss. Fire or lightning. Theft. Smoke damage. Vandalism. Freezing of the plumbing. The weight of ice and snow or sleet on your roof. And you also have your possessions covered as well. You have liability coverage. And, of course, the house itself is critical. Most homeowners policies, let’s say we insure you for $500,000, there’s an endorsement attached to the policy automatically. It gives you another 20%, so another $100,000 in this case. So your $500,000 house is insured for $600,000. And the reason for that endorsement is if a storm occurs, a catastrophic loss occurs, then prices go up on everything, roofing materials, et cetera. So you’re given extra coverage for those types of events. But I would really suggest that you stay informed because even though we have inflation guard in your policy, that 500 next year might be 520. The year after that might be 550. It’s going to go up automatically, but it may not be going up fast enough in Colorado with the increased costs and inflation and everything else that’s hitting the contractors in the state of Colorado. And one of the things I really think you should be aware of is you might, you should also have, in addition to liability coverage on your home, and that is so important, it’s automatic in most policies today. So it’s 300,000 with us when we quote it, someone falls, on your property or your dog bites somebody, that’s your liability coverage. There’s no deductible associated with that. I had an event years ago where two skiers were going down the hill. They collided with one another. One got injured and the other one was okay. We got a call out of my office. This is back in the late 80s. We got a call from one of the people in the ski accident that was injured saying they got hit. Ironically, the other person was also insured by me, by my agency. So we had two people. I mean, you’re covered. If you hurt someone or you actually killed someone on a ski slope, your homeowner’s policy is going to protect you. And that’s worldwide, not just in the state of Colorado. Anywhere in the U.S. or anywhere in the world. So some other things we should talk about would be If you don’t have an umbrella liability policy, which today they’re getting pretty expensive because there are a lot of claims, but you can add an endorsement to your little old homeowner’s policy called personal injury, which would really create additional coverages for you at a very nominal cost, maybe $60 a year, to actually embed in your homeowner’s policy something somewhat like an umbrella policy. However, it doesn’t replace an umbrella. The umbrella liability policy for a million dollars is so important to protect your assets from exposures, especially in automobile crashes. And there isn’t a night that goes by or a day I don’t hear lawyers trying to get you to drive a lawsuit to their firm. So I think we’ve got an overabundance of attorneys who want to make some money representing you in a lawsuit. Some of them are very ethical, and some of them aren’t so.

And with that, our bill of the day. is when I was going through this, I didn’t think that the team was going to take a position on it, but they are because it really is a boon for trial attorneys. And that’s House Bill 26-1322. And we will be preparing our email to go out to legislators and the governor a little bit later this morning, that is the Colorado Union of Taxpayers, If you want to receive that as well so that you can be informed on what’s going on, join us. The team is Steve Dorman, Greg Golanski, Russ Haas, Bill Hamill, Rob Canoes, John Nelson, Whitney Warner. Marty Nielsen, Ramey Johnson, Mary Jansen, Dave Evans, Corey Onazorg, Paula Beard, and Ray Beard. And the bill that I’m talking about is House Bill 26-1322. And it’s titled Civil Actions for Conversion Therapy Survivors. And at this particular point in time, the prime sponsors on this are Representative Alex Valdez, Representative Karen McCormick, Senator Lisa Cutter, and Senator Kyle Mullica. And at this point, I’m not seeing any other sponsors, so it’ll be interesting to see if the rest of the Democrats come in on this. There’s no Republicans on this. These are all Democrats. This will be heard Wednesday in the House Judiciary Committee at 1.30, and that is in the Old State Library. And this is the bill summary. It says the bill establishes a cause of action for claims of injury caused by sexual orientation or gender identity change efforts against a mental health professional and allows the cause of action to be commenced at any time whatsoever. without limitation. The bill applies to a cause of action brought against a licensed mental health professional who conducted the efforts, an individual or entity that hired, supervised or otherwise exercised authority over the mental health professional and a person who negligently hired, supervised or retained a licensed mental health professional to engage in the efforts. The bill permits the injured individual or the individual’s personal representative or a state if the individual is deceased to be awarded economic, non-economic, and exemplary damages and sets forth the manner in which causation may be established to show a connection between the efforts the individual underwent and the harm the individual suffers. The bill states what an expert witness may address in the expert’s testimony regarding the efforts the individual underwent and the harm the individual suffered. And first of all, this is a trial attorney’s dream. But this is much more serious than just that. Because what this means is, at least this is my take on it, if you have a child that because of all the indoctrination regarding the LGBTQ plus agenda, uh, is questioning their gender and you as a parent are trying to find a mental health professional to push back on all of this indoctrination that your child has, um, gone through that the mental health professional, uh, could be, um, that the mental professional is at risk of economic, non-economic and exemplary damages. And this could be at any time without limitation. So this will take away the option for parents to be able to have their child talk to a mental health professional about all of this indoctrination that is coming at them like a freight train. And I’ve mentioned it before, when I went to caucus, it was at a local high school. And there was no American flag in the room. But up on the wall, there was a big LGBTQ plus flag. And on it, there were the big words, Allie. And I thought, I wonder what that means exactly. And what this means is, is that this would be anybody that is straight, that is allowed with this particular agenda. And this is from AI. It says, the Pride Alley flag represents Represents individuals who are heterosexual and cisgender, but actively support and advocate for the rights of the LGBTQ plus community. And it features a black and white striped background with a rainbow colored A in the center. This particular one had actually all the pride flag and then the words Allie on that. So this is the pressure that our kids are getting in school that to align with this or to become and it causes them to question their gender. So here we’ve got with our public dollars. And this is not supposed to be happening, at least my understanding from the Trump administration, that we need to be shutting down these federal dollars going to these school districts that are not coming down on this. But the point is, is our kids are just being hammered each and every day. Just think about this. Going into class every day, seeing that flag, seeing the words Allie. And instead of focusing on really important issues, it’s focusing on pushing this agenda. And so moving them back over here, our kids are being totally hammered. or attempted to indoctrinate them on a daily basis. So your child finally says, hey, I’m capitulating. I’m wondering about my gender. And there will be no options for you to find help, at least here in Colorado. And so this agenda of coming after our children on such a regular basis is, is really concerning to me. And so this is House Bill 1322. It will be heard in committee on Wednesday. I’m sure that we will choose this as one of our bills that we will put onto Cut Engaged, which that is another thing that I’d highly recommend that you use. And that is you can go to coloradotaxpayer.org. And we have them in the order that we have placed them in Cut Engage. So the most recent ones will be at the top. And we’ll have those there probably by early afternoon. And you can make your voice heard. And you can add in commentary. If you don’t put in any commentary, it’ll just send cuts commentary. But you can also add in your commentary. And last week, there were five bills that And I was able to have my voice heard within basically, I think it was four minutes and seven seconds. And I know that we’re all busy. Many of you may not be able to testify in committee on Wednesday afternoon, but this is a way that you’ll be able to have your voice heard. And you can do that by going to colorado.org. taxpayer.org and then just click on the Cut Engaged tab. And it really is important that we start to do this. And I can see many of you are really starting to utilize this tool. You don’t have to be a member to use it, but we really would appreciate you joining us. The next thing, Minnesota is crazy. So this is from the Washington Examiner. It says the next Minnesota scam comes wrapped in green. And this… It goes on to say, it says the Minnesota legislature is at it again. This time is trying to turn another progressive talking point into a permanent cash machine at the expense of consumers. The newly introduced Greenhouse Gas Pollution Superfund Act would impose retroactive penalties on energy producers for emissions stretching back decades. Branded as climate accountability, the bill is just a new attack on affordable energy and a fresh stream of money for progressive elites. And the story is by, let’s give you the Jason Isaac. And it says the bill’s authors, Democrat State Senator Ann Johnson-Stewart and Democrat State Representative Athena Hollins, make no secret of what they want. They stated that passage might have to wait until the Democrats control both chambers. That candor is refreshing, if only because it strips away the pretense. This is not about responsible governance. It’s about power, redistribution, and another backdoor tax masquerading as climate virtue. Under the proposal, any company that operated in Minnesota and allegedly contributed a billion metric tons of carbon since 1995 would owe new fees. Those payments, collected decades after lawful activity, would bankroll a grab bag of government… projects, and payouts. Proponents talk about sewer upgrades and drainage fixes, but anyone who’s watched the state spending knows how that story ends. And this is, again, once more, is an attack upon everyday people who are just trying to live their lives. This will make their energy costs go through the roof and And ultimately what this will lead to is probably, well, let’s just think about it. People will not be able to afford their energy bills. Of course, then you’ll see the government will say, well, we will have government assistance, which is on a needs-based program. which means that the everyday middle class people who’s just trying to make it and not live off the government will be squeezed once again. And another comment on this says Minnesota Democrats are simply trying to reload their Somali fraud coffers by imposing a retroactive tax on energy producers. And the marketing says climate resilience. The record says slush fund. And elections really do have consequences. And that’s why we are really looking at this is a big week for talking about election integrity, because if we don’t have free, fair, honest and transparent elections, we do not have our country. Well, you write extensively, and people can find this at gregwalcher.com. And that’s W-A-L-C-H-E-R, gregwalcher.com. And you recently published this piece, March 18th, Look What They’ve Done to Her Song. And it’s an extremely interesting piece. So tell us about it.
SPEAKER 07 :
You know, former administrators are always upset about changes that their successors make. She was the appointed head of the Bureau of Land Management in the Biden administration, and she’s mad that some of her policy decisions have been reversed by the current administration. So she wrote a column that I thought was just rich, claiming that the new crowd is destroying the rangelands and tearing up the public lands and just making it seem apocalyptic, which she’s really upset about. Tracy Stone Manning is her name. What she’s really upset about is one policy that she tried to push the envelope on, which is completely illegal, and that is leasing public lands to organizations that will use them for nothing at all, which is not a part of the law. The Bureau of Land Management governing statutes specify leases of those lands for very specific purposes, and they are named in the law. So that’s why they have grazing leases and leases for oil and gas and coal and other minerals and for various other purposes all specified in the law. Leasing those lands for no purpose is not part of the law. And so it’s a battle she was never going to win. But she did it anyway, and she was in the process. She issued six leases in Montana to an organization whose purpose was to rid the range of cattle and replaced them with wild buffalo. But wild buffalo, of course, are not livestock, which livestock grazing is one of the specified legal purposes. So she gave gate grazing leases to an organization that got rid of cattle on 600,000 acres in Montana, replaced them with a few head of bison, which the courts ultimately ruled are wildlife and not livestock, So it’s a battle she lost in the courts anyway, but when the new administration just simply repealed the policy and went back to issuing grazing leases for grazing as intended, she’s very angry. So she wrote an op-ed piece that was printed all over the country, and I just sort of felt the need to respond by reminding people she’s protesting too much, as they say. She’s very upset that she didn’t get away with something that she was never going to get away with anyway.

Greg Walcher, there is this agenda by the radical activists that have taken over the Democrat Party that seems to want to keep humans off of the land, off of public land. It seems that there’s an agenda that they would prefer that… People live in apartments on a transit line. I can see it as I’m looking at all of this legislation here in Colorado as the president of CUT, because basically I take a gander at each of the bills that are scheduled for hearing each week, and I see this agenda that really, I think, is anti-human. What’s your thoughts on that?
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, yeah, and there are people out there who think The human beings in general are just kind of icky, and the planet would be better off without us. But it’s as unrealistic as an agenda can be. There are people on the earth, whether they like it or not. There’s 300 million of us in the United States, 6 million of us in Colorado, and we’re not going to leave. So they should just deal with that. But instead, you get these weird organizations like this group in Montana that was trying to establish what they call the Buffalo Commons. Their goal is to rid the great plains of people and towns, and especially cattle and livestock, and replace it with the wild herds of buffalo as if it were the early 19th century. It’s never going to happen. It’s completely unrealistic. But to bend public policy in the direction that Congress never intended is just flatly illegal. And so it’s a policy that needed to get repealed, and it’s been repealed. And so people who just dislike it. It’s not just people. There is also this sort of ongoing battle against beef and trying to rid the world of cattle. It’s incredibly radical. The climate change movement has been telling people that livestock were the worst contributor to methane gas on the planet, and yet… For the first 40 years of the climate change movement, none of its leaders ever suggested banning cows. And yet there is a radical fringe out there that does exactly want to do that. And they can advocate for it all they want. They can try to convince the public. They can try to convince Congress. But until they do that, they’re not going to prevail in that battle. And so for one rogue administrator to simply decide on her own that she’s going to do that, Well, she has found out that even directors of BLM have to obey the law.
SPEAKER 16 :
What a novel idea. What I find so ironic, Greg Walcher, is this war on beef, this war on cattle, which beef is a great protein source in our diets. It’s a very dense protein source and it’s very healthy for us. And so under the guise of that the cows emit methane, which they do, then she’s saying that we’d like to have buffalo herds, but wouldn’t buffalo herds emit methane as well?
SPEAKER 07 :
Absolutely, at least as much as cattle. People emit methane too. We also breathe carbon dioxide all the time, which… which, as you know, some of those folks were convinced that that’s a pollutant as well. So, you know, maybe they think the world would be better off if all the people and all the animals were just gone and would quit breathing, you know, while bears and lions emit methane as well. So the whole thing is kind of unrealistic as far as I’m concerned, but for someone to use what little megaphone they have, I guess, as a former director of BLM, to trash the current administration by trying to accuse them of destroying the public lands. It’s a red herring. It’s a misdirection of the worst kind.
SPEAKER 16 :
Okay. The other thing is, is people can make public comment on these different rules. And I found this interesting. It says when proposed, this is in your article, the plan attracted 215,000 official comments from groups, businesses, local and state governments, and others across the West, almost all objecting to it. That’s pretty significant to have those that many comments on that.
SPEAKER 07 :
It is. It’s unusual. It’s not unheard of because governments frequently propose policies that would alter the economy in a very significant way. And you talked about the health benefits of beef. It’s also a massively important part of the economy. It’s a multi-billion dollar industry all over the West. And the American economy is largely dependent on particular industries. And livestock is a key one of those industries. So So, yeah, it attracted over 200,000 comments, which is unusual in the NEPA process at the federal level. And they completely ignored the fact that the vast majority of them were opposed to it. Many of them, hundreds of them, in fact, were local governments where those shouldn’t even be treated just as one comment because all of the local government represent thousands of people. But they completely ignored the comments because it was an agenda that was already in place and that Tracy Stone Manning was already prepared to implement and she didn’t care what everybody else thought.
SPEAKER 16 :
Wow. And the article is so clever because you title it, Look What They’ve Done to Her Song. And you said the new seekers are best remembered for wanting to buy the world a Coke and their classic hit, I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing. But a year earlier, they found their first hit of the charts with another standard, Look What They’ve Done to My Song. featuring a sad lyric, it’s the only thing I can do half right and it’s turning out all wrong. And so that was a great hook as I was looking at your different articles on that. And then Greg Walcher, just a quick comment before we go to break and then we’ll come back and talk about another one of your pieces. But I came across this headline. This is from the Washington Examiner. that Minnesota is proposing, a couple of Democrats, a Greenhouse Gas Pollution Superfund Act, which would impose retroactive penalties on energy producers for emissions stretching back decades. This will make energy so expensive that I think that people will not be able to, some people will not be able to afford it. And I think it’s really an assault upon democracy. the everyday middle class in Minnesota, but you could see progressives trying to do this in other states as well. What’s your thoughts on this?
SPEAKER 07 :
You know, it’s a great explanation actually of how little understood the free enterprise system is by so many people out there who somehow think that you can punish oil companies because they don’t like oil companies without realizing that they’re punishing consumers when they do that. You can’t make This is the simple way to think of capitalism in my mind. You can’t make money any way other than by selling something that somebody else needs and wants and is willing to pay for. You can’t force people to buy something they don’t want. So I can only make money if I’m providing something that the public wants. So when you go after a big company like that, you’re going after their customers. And that is part of the agenda, of course. Some of these crowd is opposed to energy of any kind. It’s oil and gas at the moment. It was coal a few years ago. It’ll be wind and solar after that. They are opposed to the use of any energy by anyone, anytime, anyplace.

And again, it gets back to, I think, that it’s anti-human. And actually, I think humans are pretty neat people, Greg Walcher. So we’re going to continue the conversation with Greg Walcher. And Greg, this next piece that you’ve written is quite interesting, and it is Greenpeace Judge Might Just Beat the Dutch. And you said your father had a saying, or your grandfather had a saying about beat the Dutch. So tell us about that to begin with.
SPEAKER 07 :
It was something he used to say that I thought was funny when I was a kid. He’d say, well, if that doesn’t just beat the Dutch… It turns out that that was actually a fairly common expression when he was growing up in the 1890s because beating the Dutch was a thing back in the 17th and 18th centuries when England and France and Holland were competing to colonize the rest of the world. It was hard to get ahead of the Dutch. They founded the first public… public corporation in the world, the Dutch East India Company, and colonized a lot of the world, including what’s now New York. And so apparently in England, it was kind of a thing to be able to beat the Dutch at anything was extraordinary. And so that’s where the expression came from. We used to think it was funny when we were kids.
SPEAKER 16 :
Okay. And it was your grandfather. So tell us about what happened with this Greenpeace and the judge.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, you know, it’s kind of similar to the topic we were talking about earlier in the sense that you have this radical organization, in this case, Earth First, that funded and organized and supplied and trained the protesters who delayed and stopped the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline for several years. And you remember on TV, the protesters at the site, they rounded up A couple of Indian tribes paid them to be there. Actually, they weren’t even the tribes that were from that area. But nevertheless, they created a massive disruption in the construction of a really important energy pipeline that went on for quite some time, cost the company that was trying to build it $7.5 billion. But what that really means, of course, is that they cost their customers an awful lot of money for a pipeline that ultimately got built anyway. And after it was finally all said and done, The company’s CEO said, what these people did is wrong, and they’re going to pay for it, and he sued them. And they were, they meaning Greenpeace USA and their parent organization, Greenpeace International, which is headquartered in the Netherlands, and they were found guilty in a court of law. And a jury awarded $699 million in damages that Greenpeace has to pay. And ever since then, of course, Greenpeace has been saying we can’t pay. In fact, Greenpeace USA has been saying it would literally put us out of business. It’s money we don’t have. The judge cut the award in half to $350 million. But he said last week that he’s prepared to order, to sign the order, finally making them pay. And Greenpeace is saying we’ll go out of business over it. And lots of people are saying, well, maybe you should have thought of that before you did this. But it was interesting in the trial. They tried to claim that they had nothing to do with it. emails surfaced from the CEO of Greenpeace USA bragging at the time about the huge amount of support they were giving to the protesters. And it was found that they had supplied them and trained them and funded them and supplied them with the materials they needed to chain themselves to the equipment and all of that. So their response was to go and appeal it to a court in the Netherlands, literally a Dutch court, because of some European Union rule that says you can take cases to court in Europe to appeal the findings in other countries elsewhere if you think they were unfair. So my point about it is American courts couldn’t care less what some Dutch court thinks, but that’s what Greenpeace is banking on to get them out of having to pay these damages.
SPEAKER 16 :
What do you think the timeframe is on this? I am learning that the legal system can be really drawn out and on different appeals. And I imagine Greenpeace is going to want to, I guess maybe they can’t draw it out any longer if they’re appealing to this court in the Netherlands. So what’s the timeframe on this?
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, they’re also at the same time appealing it to the Supreme Court of North Dakota, which is where the case is. and they may try some series of legal maneuvers in this country beyond that as well because the North Dakota Supreme Court is highly unlikely to overturn the trial court and the jury. So I don’t know. I wouldn’t venture a guess on how it will eventually come out, but I will say it’s likely that it will be caught up in appeals and so on for several years. So I guess it will be a while before we find out how it eventually is resolved. But I just… I think it’s time. In fact, I think it’s past time with some of these protests that often turn violent and that frequently cost people all sorts of damages. I think it’s time that the legal system start looking at the people who are paying for it and organizing it rather than just the protesters on the ground. I mean, they can arrest protesters who were there. But somebody paid him to be there. And I think it’s long past time that we start looking at who’s doing that and going after them.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, I think so, too. And ultimately what happened, you said in your article here, that the delay of the project cost the pipeline owners an estimated $7.5 billion. So the judgment against Greenpeace does not even come close to the costs that ultimately, as you say, and these costs… go to the consumers. We, you know, we the people. And when we look at the cost of our electrical or electric bill, our power bill, it’s pretty significant here in Colorado. And it’s all because of all of these policies.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, yeah, in Colorado, our electric bills have gone up 40% since the state first started this road towards uh 100 renewables and zero emissions and so on that’s still state policy here by the way that we’re still expecting zero emissions in colorado by the year 2050 and the public utilities commission has had several chances to to take a new look at that and refuses to do it so it’s still still part of what the requirement is here and to expect that consumers aren’t going to pay for that is to expect what will never happen it’s a pure fantasy So, yeah, 40% just in the years since 2015, and the prices will just continue to go up and up and up. I don’t know how ordinary people are going to be able to afford to live in Colorado. It’s already, I don’t know if you saw the latest Common Sense Institute study, but Colorado is already down at the position of 43 on the list of affordability among states in America. So the 42 places you could move to are cheaper to live in than Colorado now. It’s because of policies like this.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, and I call them PBIs, politicians, bureaucrats, and interested parties. When they talk about affordability and how they’re going to address it, many times it seems to be another government program. Well, somebody has to pay for that government program, which that means more money is taken out of everyday people’s pocket, which means it is making life less affordable for them. And we’re seeing the effects of this big time here in Colorado. I know you would.
SPEAKER 07 :
I know with PBI that you would say politicians, bureaucrats, and imbeciles, but that would be redundant.
SPEAKER 16 :

I hope people will be thinking about what it takes to power a prosperous society, and that is the use of natural resources. Our challenge as people who care about conservation is to use resources wisely and responsibly and sustainably and in a way that our grandkids will be proud of. That doesn’t include not using them at all. There’s a terrible confusion out there about what conservation means. It doesn’t mean build a wall around all public resources and stop people from doing anything. It means using the resources for the benefit of the people who are alive today and using them responsibly enough that they’ll still be there for future generations. That’s what conservation is.

Number three, to persuade or induce to adopt a particular religion, faith, or belief. and it could be convert pagans to Christianity. And these definitions are from the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, 5th edition. And I chose the word because of the bill of the day that we will be talking about. And we’ll get to that here in just a moment. Our quote of the day is from Teddy Roosevelt. And he was born in 1858. He died in 1919. He was our 26th president. And he was a leader in the Republican Party, but he became a driving force For antitrust and progressive era policies, I need to learn more. There’s some quotes that I just love from him, but I am concerned about this progressive thing because there were some very bad amendments to the Constitution that really assaulted freedom during this progressive era. But he said this, which I do agree with. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty, and that is a loyalty to the American people. And I based that because of this particular bill that will be heard on wednesday afternoon uh in um i think it’s the house judiciary uh and this is house bill 1322 and uh jenny has uh texted me she said we we need to take back the language and that is not to use the word gender but to use sex So this is the AI summary for this. And this is titled Civil Actions for Conversion Therapy Survivors. So I’m going to do my best to take Ginny’s advice. And this is the AI summary. that we have from Bill Track 50. It says, the bill establishes a new legal pathway for individuals harmed by sexual orientation identity change efforts, which are defined as any practice by a licensed mental health professional which is a professional holding on valid license at the time of the efforts that aims to direct a patient toward a predetermined sexual orientation or identity outcome, including efforts to change these identities or reduce attractions. The bill allows individuals who suffered injury from such efforts to file a civil lawsuit for damages, and importantly, these lawsuits can be filed at any time without a statute of limitations, acknowledging that the psychological harm from these efforts may not be recognized until much later in life. The bill applies to licensed mental health professionals who conduct these efforts, as well as individuals or entities who hired, supervised, or negligently retained such professionals, provided they knew or should have known about the harmful practices. Interesting. It says survivors can seek economic, non-economic, and exemplary damages. And the bill outlines how causation can be established, allowing for expert testimony on the harmful effects, yada, yada, yada. So they did include in this the safety clause. And what that means is that in Colorado, legislation can actually be put to the voters to say whether or not they approve it, except if there is a safety clause on it. The safety clause is there for if there’s an immediate emergency. There’s no immediate emergency here, but this means that we cannot review this particular piece of legislation. And the sponsor list on this… is Representative Karen McCormick, Democrat. Let’s see, Alex Valdez, Democrat. Lisa Cutter, who’s a Senator, Democrat. And Kyle Mullica, who’s a Democrat. At this point in time, there’s no other Democrats that have their name on the bill. And we’ll have to watch this to see what will happen with this. I do think that CUT, our Colorado Union of Taxpayers, will be taking a position on this, particularly because this is a trial attorney’s dream. Now, there has been legislation, I think it was Scott Bottoms who had a piece of legislation that would allow those that had been harmed because of this indoctrination regarding the LGBTQ plus agenda and in teaching our kids to question whether or not they’re a boy or a girl, that there had been some legislation that would have allowed… You know what it was? Because I testified on it. It… said that any medical professional that had transitioned a child, whether or not psychologically, or excuse me, pharmaceutically, well, pharmaceutically or surgically, that they would be held liable. and that legislation was defeated in committee on that. So our children are really under attack here in Colorado, and that’s why we have got to continue to shed light on this. This bill number is House Bill 1322, and it will be heard, let’s see here, this Wednesday, 1.30, and I think it’s the House Judiciary, but I’ll make sure that I can get that for you. He’s a former U.S. Army Captain of Military Intelligence and an Afghanistan veteran, and he has great analytical skills, which were honed on the battlefield. And in electoral forecasting, he has a new book out, The American War on Election Corruption, The Crusade to Restore Trust in Voting. Seth Keschel, welcome to the show.

Good morning, Kim. How are you? Thank you for having me on.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, it is good to have you. And I have watched you from afar on much of this election integrity stuff that is happening in our country. And quite frankly, Seth, if we don’t have free, fair, honest and transparent elections, we don’t have a country. And I think we have an illusion of elections at this particular point in time. And we’ve got to do something about it. So walk us through your book. This is a very important book.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, fewer or more qualified to make the statement that you just made than those living in Colorado. I must start off by saying that.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 08 :
Colorado, of course, is mail-in voting, universal mail-in voting, automatic voter registration, and, of course, anywhere where there’s There’s mail-in voting in mass. You have ballot harvesting, even though Colorado claims to have laws against ballot harvesting, limits on that. So the American war on election corruption does throw some dirt Colorado’s way. It focuses on most states in our country, especially those that are choked out with what I consider to be election laws that rig elections. So the man who wrote the foreword to my book, Newt Gingrich, I asked him to write it because I wanted this to have the widest possible appeal to the standard Republican audience, which is going to make it go into the mainstream of the electorate in a year where we’re talking, again, extensively about election reform. So Newt says elections are not stolen. They’re rigged. And looking at the laws of the various states for the past 10 years, I 100% agree with his assessment. Starting in 2000, you had states running mail-in ballot elections. Now, that would be just Oregon at the time. And then after Oregon, you had a few more states, Washington, Colorado, and Utah moved to all-male elections. But because of the changes put in place during the 2020 election cycle with COVID and the advent of automatic voter registration, we are now operating our elections under a completely new set of terms that people were not used to even eight years ago.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, and Colorado, I think, is at the tip of the spear on all of these things that they’re pushing. And my volunteer gig, Seth, is I’m president of the Colorado Union of Taxpayers, which is an all-volunteer group that has been watching legislation for over 50 years and taking positions on this. And so what this means is, is on Friday afternoon, I go through our, we’ve got a great program that we use called Bill Track 50, and it posts all of the bills that will be scheduled for hearing for the next week. And I thought this was timely with you being on the show. Senate Bill 119 is sneaking through and it’s called Authorized Local Electronic Ballot Return. And the sponsors on this are all Democrats, Kyle Mullica, Michael Carter, and Megan Lukens. And it’s this camel’s nose under the tent because the bill authorizes special districts and municipalities in Colorado to conduct elections using electronic ballot return, which allows voters to submit their marked ballots electronically through a, I have this in air quotes, secure system. So this is under the radar. We thought mail-in voting was bad. I see that this is really bad. Seth, what’s your thoughts?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, anything that’s going to make a state like that that already has an extreme amount of ballots returned because of what mail-in balloting does is a mistake. And it’s not the first state that I’ve seen try to do things like this. You have other states like Washington State, for instance, is now starting to get into a number of things they have never had, including not just speaking about elections. They just passed the first ever income tax in Washington State. But they also have allowed for, starting with their reservations, Native American reservations, online voting. So if we start there, who else for that extent? Two college kids living away from their homes. So you have this slippery slope effect. You also have had in the last four years efforts in Utah to allow people to vote by email. by online means with an app called Votes using blockchain, which of course I don’t trust this based on the statistics that I research. So if we are getting further and further away from the core way that people have always held elections, which is primitive means, showing up, writing or circling or bubbling in a choice and handing it in to be counted at the precinct level, then we are definitely getting away from the intent of one man, one vote.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, I think we’ve got to get something done to make sure that we have free, fair, honest, and transparent elections before this 2026 midterm. But time is running out. What do you think, Seth? Are we going to get it done?
SPEAKER 08 :
I don’t think that we’re going to have… midterms this year that are what we wish they would be. Now, that doesn’t mean that some states won’t run better elections based on changes that they’ve made locally. Florida fixed most of their issues in 2022 with Senate Bill 524. Relative to other states, Florida does a good job controlling the cheat with mail-in balloting because the governor signed a bill that forces people to request a ballot and verify their address and that they want the ballot sent, not an automatic balloting mailing system. So that is important, but to think that the way that people are opposing the SAVE Act, the longer this goes now, it would have to really get shoved through quick for any of these changes to go into effect. I think that the best play is for the states that have legislative control with the Republican Party to pass laws like Florida’s to control the mail-in balloting, but really something has to be done about voter registration. The corruption of voter registration is the single biggest tell of which party that state may support.
SPEAKER 16 :
Now, states have constitutionally, I think it is right that they they conduct the elections. But yet, because there are federal offices that are voted on and that does affect everyone throughout the country. then the federal government does have, I think, needs to take some action to assure that these elections are free, fair, honest, and transparent. But I know that there are many that push back because the states are supposed to administer these elections. What would you say to that, Seth Keschel?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, the states that are running corrupt elections do rely on the elections clause to draft the laws that they put in the books. Now, in 2020, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, his office filed a suit called Texas v. Pennsylvania. which alleged that the miscarriage of election laws in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin disenfranchised Texas’s 38 electors. And that was an equal protections case that went to the Supreme Court. And unfortunately for America, who deserved to have the 2020 election heard out right away, the case was punted by the Supreme Court for lack of standing. Supposedly, Texas was not allowed to challenge at that level. So that’s been a major problem, the judicial corruption. even with the president of the United States himself seen as not having standing in court, which is just unbelievable to me. But I think that you have now come to a point in which the federal government has no choice but to override the corrupt election laws of states that aren’t running things above board. And that is where we have to come in and figure out how to make an even playing field for voter registration. Automatic voter registration is particularly troublesome. 18 out of 20 states in 2020 went to Joe Biden under automatic voter registration. 243 electoral votes to nine. Then you go to 2024, Trump did marginally better, and of course still lost them big, more than three to one in the Electoral College. But in states or electoral votes not under automatic voter registration, Trump won 248 to five. So voter registration is the foundation of our corruption. It’s a really good reason why your Secretary of State, Senator Griswold, won’t comply with the DOJ’s demands for voter rolls. And it is, until it is fixed, we cannot really expect to have anything more than quasi-elections.
SPEAKER 16 :
So it’s an illusion of an election. I see really two things that are challenges, Seth. One is this voter registration, mail-in ballots. We have such a challenge with that. We do need to get that cleaned up, but we also have to engage in the battle of ideas because if people are voting for communism, for example, with what’s happening in New York. We’re seeing other candidates that ran as moderates. I think it’s Spensberger, the governor of Virginia. They’re running as moderates, but when they’re getting into office, they are really ruling. They’re not representing the people. They are ruling with an iron fist. And there are those that do vote for that. So we’ve got to also engage in the battle of ideas together. so that people understand what has made America such a great place for everyday people to thrive and prosper. And of course, our education system has been indoctrinating kids on things other than those important foundational principles of our country. And so we’ve got really twofold. We’ve got to clean up the voter registration, the elections, but we also have to engage in the battle of ideas so that people understand who they’re voting for and what the outcomes would be if those people are elected.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, part of this is on the voters for suspecting that any moderate Democrat is going to be moderate. Virginia’s gubernatorial race was going to be a mess from the beginning. 12 out of 13 governor’s races in Virginia since 1977 have gone to the party that wasn’t in the White House. So that was a real issue for the GOP. Another one is that the administration, the Trump administration, is busy slashing federal jobs as promised. All the people like to complain online, but Trump went in there and is squashing federal jobs and the consequences. The center of the electorate that lives in Northern Virginia now becomes the center left of the electorate, and you have this blue wave in the making. But everyone knew what Abigail Spanberger was about. Going in there with her phony moderate views. But this is the warning for all. And Colorado and Virginia share a lot in common here in the last 20 years. They both turned blue for Obama in 2008. You have a Republican stronghold that’s turned into not just a blue state, but a nasty dominant blue state in which the Democrats that get in completely tyrannize the rest of the geographic state, which 90% of both states geographically are basically red states. So you have a common denominator there, and that is, unfortunately, she’s been there. She would have won anyway. I don’t think she would have won by 15 points with election laws that were like they were 10 years ago.

Seth Keschel, you mentioned Colorado. I feel that we’re at the tip of the spear on all this election stuff. challenges that we have. We typically like to talk about Jenna Griswold, who is the Secretary of State. But as I’ve connected dots out here, I see that there are Republicans that are not that interested in getting these elections cleaned up. And so this is a bipartisan issue, if you will, although we like to blame the Democrats a lot. I see it as a bipartisan issue in many states.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, unfortunately for us, the Republicans that don’t want to fix elections, some of them buy the false narrative that if we complain about elections, then we’re going to be viewed as sore losers and people will then organically vote against us. There’s a number of states in which the reasons the results go against Republicans is because the election laws are corrupt. Pennsylvania is a perfect example. Pennsylvania’s Trump numbers, raw vote numbers in 2020 and 2024, suggest margins much higher. Well, Trump, of course, lost Pennsylvania in 2020 by a point. won it by almost two points in 2024. But I think that Trump’s 2024 vote performance aligns more with a winning margin of at least seven points, which would put Pennsylvania right around where Ohio was in 2016 and 2020. But as things are now with no excuse mail-in balloting and seven weeks of early vote and ballot harvesting, you have a state now that remains competitive. Colorado, of course, Now, one thing that people don’t realize about the damage done by elections there, there was a Biden plus 13 and a half margin in 2020 in a state that I think maybe should have gone to him by about six points. And down ballot, the referendum to reintroduce gray wolves to the wild only passed by 1.8 points. So you have a lot of damage going on in states and down-ballot measures that overwhelm or overrule the will of the people that, of course, don’t want wolves reintroduced into rural Colorado. So the Republicans who are ignoring the issues with elections are whistling past a graveyard, and that is an unfortunate thing. Even in big-time blue states like California, the cheat is designed to ensure dominance but also to make sure that nobody gets close enough to think it’s worth putting money in. Because whenever Democrats get within single digits in Texas, they start putting money in the state left and right. So there’s multiple reasons why we have the laws crafted the way we have them.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, Seth Keschel, the midterms are right around the corner. And if the Democrats take either the House or Senate or both, then the agenda that Trump has been putting in place to get government back into its proper role, we had talked with Greg Walcher in the first hour, and that is the former head of, let me get the exact article here, I don’t know if it’s BLM, and it was Tracy Stone Manning. She ran the Bureau of Land Management. And one of the things that she’d been attempting to do just by the stroke of a pen was basically to take away grazing rights for beef producers. And she was giving leases to different organizations that had no intention of having beef or cattle graze on that land, but wanted to give it to bison. And so these policies that have been put in place really hurt everyday people. And Trump has been working closely diligently to try to get a lot of this stuff rolled back. If the midterms go to the Democrats in either house or both, all this stops. And so we’re at a really critical time in our country, Seth Keschel.
SPEAKER 08 :
I’m not so concerned about the Senate going to Democrats. Of course, people in betting markets will throw money at anything that they think could be potentially profitable to take a flyer on things. You have four key races in the Senate right now called the core four. You have two Republican-held seats in North Carolina and Maine, which I would consider of the four core four races. or maybe of the two red seats, I should say, that North Carolina is the one that would be most likely to flip. But I would say that’s probably a 50-50 proposition now. The polls really aren’t far apart, which I could care less about polls. But North Carolina has a minor Florida effect going on with voter registration. Then you have Maine, where Susan Collins always seems to win. She ran almost 40 points to the right of Obama in Maine in 2008 to win on the same ticket. Then you have two blue seats right now, one being vacated in Michigan, which, by the way, is the biggest tell that Gretchen Whitmer is running in 28 for president because she’s not running for Senate. And then you have Georgia, John Ossoff defending his seat. So even if Democrats win all four of those, which is unlikely… then they would only have 49 seats. So I’m not seeing where they’re going to get two more. People are really doing a lot of fear-mongering right now, and it’s counterproductive. But the House, yes, the House is likely to flip because that’s what history tells us. 20 out of 23 midterms since 1934 go against the president’s party in the House. The average loss of seats is 27. Now, that won’t happen either. The ceiling and floor for both parties is not very high and not very low, respectively. So I would suspect that whoever wins the House will probably have 220 to 229 House seats. Now, if Virginia and Colorado manage to redistrict, then it is almost impossible for Republicans to hold the House this year.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, won’t they start impeachment processes and try to just stop everything that Trump is doing then?
SPEAKER 08 :
Yes, the Democrat House will impeach Trump many times. What people fail to account for is that this will only turn people against Democrats in the long run. People get really obsessed with the short term, but in the long run, everybody that’s complaining about Iran, complaining about gas prices, complaining about Epstein, people are going to remember exactly what the other side is about because they’re not going to be able to get him convicted in the Senate with a Republican majority. If Trump were to be convicted in the Senate ever, it would have been after J6, and that didn’t happen either. So a lot of the fear-mongering on our side needs to stop and become more focused on practical solutions like getting involved at the precinct level, at the county level. We need people to fill leadership spots throughout the Republican Party and start getting things back on track because we have one very powerful figurehead leading the party but not enough people on the bench.
SPEAKER 16 :
Here in Colorado, I think a lot of Republicans are disenfranchised because there’s been a lot of infighting. How would you address that, Seth Keschel?
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, Colorado is not unique with that. There’s infighting in every Republican faction that I’ve visited over the last six years. And it’s usually divided in urban, suburban versus rural factions. The grassroots tends to have convictions and courage to speak out against things that aren’t right, but unfortunately often lacks political skill and know-how. But then you have the more establishment members or the more professional Republicans who have connections, the ability to fundraise, and some know how but lack the convictions to fight. Nobody can really seem to figure out how to fight in Colorado, which landmass-wise is a very rural state. But a lot of Republicans run in Colorado like it’s Wyoming, and two-thirds of the vote comes out of six counties. in Metro Denver. So it is also possible that right now in Colorado, it’s extremely difficult to get a foothold as Republicans because the state in Denver is so far to the left socially. And with the election corruption, it’s hard to figure out where to even begin. Even good candidates are getting annihilated in Colorado now by 10 points.
SPEAKER 16 :
It’s daunting what you’re saying about this beautiful state that we love. It is getting run into the ground, though, Seth. Denver used to be known as the queen city of the plains here. And it was a beautiful city. It is now dirty. It’s dangerous. And I’ve got to think that people… They’ve got to connect the dots to these elections and these people that are down at the statehouse. And that’s why we do the show is because we want to help people get their brain around these issues. But what you’re saying, it makes me very sad for Colorado at this particular point in time, but we can’t give up. I think that’s the thing is we cannot give up, Seth.
SPEAKER 08 :
No, you definitely can’t. People have to figure out how to reassemble the map of what a red Colorado looks like. Because Denver County has been a problem for Republicans even when Colorado was a red state. Trump made marginal improvements in Jefferson and Arapahoe counties. Also minor improvements in Denver, but not so much because of vote gains, but the other side not harvesting as many ballots as they did in 2020. But while you’re not looking… The Democrats are busy making inroads into your red counties that you need in the event of a red Colorado or to have closer margins like El Paso County. Trump’s margins in El Paso County were down in 2024 to the lowest margins he’s had in all three runs that he’s had. So even Colorado Springs is starting to bloat with urban growth and transplants that are no longer allowing 20-plus point margins to happen there.
SPEAKER 16 :
Okay, and one of the foundational things to bring this back is the mail-in ballots, though, are a significant challenge, and we’ve got to get this cleaned up. As our listeners know, we raised money for two different lawsuits that are working their way through the legal system. We did that in 2024. One, we funded a lawsuit through the… Gosh, I’m drawing a blank now. I’ll have to… And one was with Peter Berninger with Wisconsin Center for Election Justice. And the other is with… I am having a brain… Brain movement on that. Somebody can help me on that. And anyway, we filed those two election lawsuits because we do not have free, fair, honest and transparent elections here in Colorado. How would you like to wrap this up, Seth Keschel?
SPEAKER 08 :
Knowledge is power. The reason I wrote the book was to appeal to folks who don’t know what to believe about elections, to make it very simple about how elections are corrupted and how they’ve changed over the years, not just the last 10 years, but really even the last two centuries. This goes way back. So for people who are not believers that elections can be rigged or that people would go so far as to rig out elections… then the book is for you. So it is, you know, the Democrats have put in a system that is uniquely designed to work for them. So we have, you know, this would be like somebody challenging you to a race, see who gets somewhere first, and then you find out it’s not just going to be any race, we’re going to be swimming, and then you find out that you’re going to be swimming against Michael Phelps. That is mail-in balloting with Democrats who are able to drop tons of ballots into dormitories, apartments, and projects, and then have enough crew to go pick them up. And Republicans, of course, are chasing one and two ballots at ranches and estates all spread throughout geographic expanse that they cannot make up. So without proper views on why we have the deliberations going on with elections in our country, then it’s hard to get everybody on the same sheet of music for what fair elections look like that will allow Colorado to become more competitive in the future.
SPEAKER 16 :

So you said that there should be a sharp separation of church and state in Iran. So walk us through this, Colonel Rutledge.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, yes, there’s a parallel. That whole region for several hundred years was dominated by the Ottoman Empire. And the Ottoman Empire actually came along long after the Persian Empire um, country and Persian legacy was there so that the majority of the people there are Persian and they are not, uh, um, people who are necessarily, uh, uh, agreeable with the political arrangements or the, um, the religious things. And the problem is the people don’t have any freedom and the women have next to none. And this experience last week, um, with the hanging of three young men was shown all around the world to show what happens with Sharia law, which is a part of the Islamic philosophy and teachings in all of the Islamic countries. So that I felt, and I called the White House and sent a follow-on correspondence about two weeks ago when the president was talking about the importance of the new leadership And I stated emphatically, I said, the new leadership must not be a cleric. He must declare an exact separation between any kind of religious faith and political actions. And I used the best example, which was Turkey, because it’s so close to there, and because Turkey was also a part of the Ottoman Empire. At the end of World War II, no, World War I, I’m sorry, they became the Turkish Republic for the geographic area they have now. And they elected a man who was a great leader and who had been an effective general during the war. And his name was Kemal Ataturk. And Kemal wanted to make a complete break between religion and politics. So he moved the capital from Istanbul down to the central part of the state at Ankara. And he made it emphatically clear that By doing this, he’s trying to make the break with the traditional Ottoman Empire philosophy and domination by religious groups for hundreds of years. And Ataturk’s actions were so effective that even today he is held in high esteem. When one of our ambassadors, or from any country, goes to Ankara to the capital. The first thing they do is they go up to the tomb of Ataturk to pay respects to him. And I use this only as an example to show what can be done if people have a desire to do it. And if you have a strong leader who, in this case, his background was the military, but he was also very good in the political field. But above all, he was a Turkish national leader. And that’s where his allegiance was. And I’ve been in Turkey many times. And I’ve been both to where his tomb is and also to Istanbul. And when I’ve talked with the Turks, they’ve been very proud of their country and proud of how they have kept this separation between church and state there. And it’s given them the freedoms which they have there. And they tolerate that. any kind of religion there. They don’t control it. However, of course, probably a larger percentage of the people there have a Muslim background. But this is different than Iran. In Iran, most of the people there draw their background from Persia. And they still, many, many of them still call themselves Persians. I had a gentleman who worked for me when I was in Germany. He was on my staff, and he was from there. He was living in Germany, like we call a green card person here, who is still a Turkish national, but he had permission to work in Germany. And when this situation happened in 1978, and our president told the Shah that he was no longer going to be supporting the Shah’s dynasty and that the Shah should evacuate. This scholar was Turkish. He said he felt that there’s pending anarchy in his country, which came to pass. So I just want to be sure the president views this as one of his key items, that there must be a complete separation.
SPEAKER 16 :
And you had said the composition of the Iranian population is largely Persian. And in your notes, you said that this heritage predates the prophet Muhammad.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes, it does. And, you know, in the Bible, there’s so many parts in there, especially in the Old Testament. Well, that’s where it would be located. And it talks so frequently about Islamic… I’m sorry, about the Jewish… families and Jewish nation, really, being exiled from where they are now and from Jerusalem and going into what was truly Persia there. And then we know the Persians and the Greeks had great battles and things years and years before the birth of Christ. So there’s so much depth in history there. But the key thing is that that the majority of the people there are not Islamic. And the majority of the people there don’t consider that they are more a part of, like the Arabians, because they are not. In other words, they are not an Arabian sect per se. Maybe 30% of them are. But that doesn’t warrant what’s been going on there since 1978.
SPEAKER 16 :
Okay, and we had talked about this on the show, that you actually… talked with the general that delivered the message from President Carter to the Shah, where President Carter said that he would no longer have the protection of America. And that’s what then precipitated Iran getting to this point where it’s being ruled with an iron fist by Muslim clerics. We’ve got a minute left. How would you like to button this up, Colonel Rutledge?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, the general who took the message He did this in private, just like some other things that have not been written down, but they’re verbal. He was summoned to the White House. Carter talked to him personally and said, now you go and personally talk to the Shah. So that they did not want documentation from the political standpoint. But factually, people later found out about it. But I learned this specific information by talking directly to General Heiser at a NATO gathering in 1978. And I learned also that General Heiser is from Paonia, Colorado.
