It could be a statement that seems to contradict itself but may nonetheless be true, number one. Number two, a person, thing, or situation that exhibits inexplicable or contradictory aspects. Or number three, a statement that is self-contradictory or logically untenable, though based on a valid deduction from acceptable premises. So, and your piece is the paradox of freedom.

And the paradox freedom is the more freedom we have, the more discipline and self-restraint we need to exhibit.
SPEAKER 19 :
I think that you are channeling, I don’t think you’ve ever met Ben Martin, but he had gone through Leadership Program of the Rockies, I think like back in 2009. I think he went through with Brad Beck, and I may not have their years right, but you went through Leadership Program of the Rockies, and Kane, you did as well. Yes, ma’am, class of 2023. 2023, and what class were you? 2018, the toughest class ever. the toughest class. I was 2012. And in 2016, I did get the, was awarded the Leader in Action Award, which was a pretty big deal. Did I ever tell you? So with that, when they called, I said, and so they said, you’ll have five minutes down at the event down at the Broadmoor to speak after we give you the award. And so I said, well, I’d like to tell the story about Hooters. And so I did. and how it’s such a freedom story. And then at the end, I asked if we could have up on the, well, so I was on city council. There were PBIs that didn’t want to, and one of the things that we did was we would award the liquor licenses. And that’s important for restaurants, right, Kane? Yes, ma’am. To have a liquor license. Yes, ma’am. And there was a standing room only saying that they didn’t want to have city council award this liquor license. The location where they were at had had a liquor license. It was zoned as a restaurant. It was a no brainer. So anyway, long story short, it took a couple of weeks, and it was a lot of publicity. And so a few months later, the head of the Colorado Restaurant Association called and said, Kim, the owners of the restaurant, Brian, would like to have you be the guest of honor and cut the ribbon for the new Hooters restaurant. And I thought, wow. Okay. And so that’s what I did. So I have this picture of me cutting the ribbon with the owner, Brian, and his two sons, and then the beautiful Hooters girls lined up. So I said, okay, at the end of my speech, I’d like to say, and this is what freedom looks like. And so we put that up on the big screen when I was awarded that award.
SPEAKER 04 :
Absolutely. That’s awesome.
SPEAKER 19 :
And actually, Tommy Lahren, conservative national host, she was there and she actually did a whole piece on her national radio show about that. She said freedom can be interesting, but this is what freedom looks like.
SPEAKER 04 :
And not everyone has to like it.
SPEAKER 19 :
No, but we have to stand for freedom. Yes, ma’am. And so the free market, what the case I was making to these people is if you don’t want to go there, don’t go there, you know? And so I think that’s important.
SPEAKER 04 :
And delicious food, by the way.
SPEAKER 19 :
Yeah, they have great. Do you ever get their fish and chips?

I had the fish and chips, and that fish taco is amazing. That’s what Kurt Gerwitz likes. It is. Absolutely. And it’s huge. Yeah, he likes it.

All the garbage. There you go. But yeah, I’ll pop on one of the stories as I’m, you know, because we live out east. It’s, you know, usually at least 45 minutes to an hour. I’ll listen to a story. Yeah. And they really, really inspire me.
SPEAKER 19 :
I know. And each story is so unique. And so we’re really excited about dusting those off. And Joe is working his magic on all those because he said, Kim, there’s a little bit of audio that’s a little challenging. So he’s working his magic on that. so let’s get into our quote of the day and as as you know on friday i am pulling these quotes from the medal of honor quote book from the center for american values and be sure and check out their website that’s americanvaluecenter.org they’ve got a lot happening in september they’re located in pueblo and i find these also so inspiring and this is from This is Joseph Bob Carey, United States Navy Medal of Honor recipient, born 1943. He did serve as a governor and senator from Nebraska as a Democrat. These are actions that were taken on March 14, 1969. And so, Alan, why don’t you kick off the citation?
SPEAKER 03 :
for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while serving as a SEAL team leader during action against enemy aggressors, Viet Cong forces. Acting in response to reliable intelligence, Lieutenant Junior Grade Carey led his SEAL team on a mission to capture important members of the enemy’s area political cadre known to be located on an island in the Bay of Nha Trang. In order to surprise the enemy, he and his team scaled a 350-foot sheer cliff to place themselves above the ledge on which the enemy was located. Splitting his team into two elements and coordinating both, Lieutenant Carey led his men in the treacherous downward descent to the enemy’s camp. Just as they neared the end of their descent, intense enemy fire was directed at them, and Lieutenant Carey received massive injuries from a grenade which exploded at his feet and threw him backward on the jagged rocks.
SPEAKER 19 :
Although bleeding profusely and suffering great pain, he displayed outstanding courage and presence of mind in immediately directing his elements fire into the heart of the enemy camp. Utilizing his radio man, Lieutenant Carey called in a second elements fire support, which caught the confused Viet Cong in a devastating crossfire. After successfully suppressing the enemy’s fire, and although immobilized by his multiple wounds, he continued to maintain calm, superlative control as he ordered his team to secure and defend an extraction site. Lieutenant Kerry resolutely directed his men, despite his near-conscious state, until he was eventually evacuated by helicopter. The havoc brought to the enemy by this very successful mission cannot be overestimated. The enemy soldiers who were captured provided critical intelligence to the Allied effort. Lieutenant Carey’s courageous and inspiring leadership, valiant fighting spirit, and tenacious devotion to duty in the faces of almost overwhelming opposition sustain and enhance the finest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service. And he said this, Your character is built one decision and choice at a time. And what you build will determine whether or not you find happiness. And I think that’s a very appropriate quote, Alan.
SPEAKER 03 :
Absolutely. And it’s it’s so interesting, too, because it’s whenever we read these these amazing stories of valor, you just realize they just chose to make the best decision they could in the moment. And that’s what made them courageous was they despite everything, they still said, well, what’s the next best thing that I can do?
SPEAKER 19 :
And, Cain, we are in an ideological battle right now. Yes, ma’am. I think that we are in our ideological Normandy. We’re taking the beach. You’re one of those leaders, for sure, with founding Task Force Freedom Northern Colorado. But we are in an ideological Normandy. We are… needing to scale this wall every day, and that’s why we have to train. And that is why, to Ben Williams, to get rid of all the garbage out there and search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through this lens of freedom versus force.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, I think it’s important for us to understand that our country had has been taken over. And the process is with our president trying to take it back. And I think we’re going to… In fact, I know we’re going to be successful, but these marxicoms, my word I phrased, have been… That’s taken over our country decades ago. Decades. We’ve just been silent. I mean, I don’t want to thank COVID for it, but man, after COVID, people started to wake up and really see what our government is. And so we need to have courage and we have to be willing to suffer. Hate that part, but there’s always suffering before success. Well, look at this citation. Yes, ma’am. And we have to embrace the suffering and be okay with it to make that sacrifice in order for us to get our country back.
SPEAKER 19 :
And we have a responsibility, Cain, to pass on to the next generation what has been passed on to us. And going back to, I believe we’re in the third founding of our country, the first founding. The founders stepped forward and put their lives on the line. to pass on liberty, the responsible exercise of freedom. Yes, ma’am. And that’s what we’re doing here. So it’s great to have you in studio, Cain. Great to have you in studio, Alan, and Ben as well. We’ve taken it for granted to be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I can feel late summer, fall right now, so it’s going to start to get a little cooler. So what should people do?

Yeah, isn’t it crazy that summer has gone by already?
SPEAKER 19 :
It’s crazy.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah. Well, so obviously we’re going to be turning on our furnaces before long. You know, I used to just, I love the fall weather, but I used to just cringe when it was time to turn on the furnace because I would start coughing, sneezing, I’d have itchy eyes. So I’d change the filter, you know, we’d call somebody out to clean the ducts and it’d help a little bit, but not great. I mean, I still knew like, wow, something is really off here. So yeah, with the air quality being what it was, I would set the furnace as low as we could stand it
SPEAKER 19 :
Really?
SPEAKER 08 :
Slept with the window open.
SPEAKER 1 :
Huh.
SPEAKER 08 :
I tell you what, man, keeping the furnace set low, that’s the secret to a long, happy marriage. No, that didn’t go so good. But so, you know, it’s interesting. Forced air furnaces are relatively new in the history of humanity. You know, in the 1930s is kind of when this came around. And they first started putting filters in furnaces to prevent fires from the dust buildup. Before forced air furnaces, apparently people set chunks of charcoal around the house to help purify the air. But they didn’t have too many service calls. Yeah, I’m sure. Okay, so let’s get a little bit technical. And people hang with me. This is going to get good.
SPEAKER 19 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
But I’m going to talk about the really cool aspects of furnace filters here, okay?
SPEAKER 19 :
I was hoping we’d get to that.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah. Kim is on the edge of her seat. So people say, man, what’s the best kind of furnace filter? What should I use? Honestly, the brand is not so important. Now there’s people who say, oh, no, this is… But really, it’s kind of like a… Buy an oil filter for your car. There’s a lot out there. A lot of them do a really good job. The whole idea is that you don’t want to restrict the air flow so bad that you can’t have air coming out of your vent. But you also want to trap what’s in the air, right? So filters have a MERV rating. M-E-R-V. This is a test question. MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Rating Value. So that indicates the efficiency of the filter in trapping dust, particulates, pollen, that kind of stuff. So typical residential furnace filters range from a MERV 7 to 13. The higher the number, the more restrictive the openings are in the filter. So, Kim, if you have a furnace fan trying to suck air through a MERV 13 that’s trapping every single little microparticle, you suppose the fan’s having to work harder?
SPEAKER 19 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 08 :
You nailed that. Girl, if you ever get tired of radio, Ben’s plumbing, heating, cooling has a job waiting for you. All right. So I want to talk about electronic air filters. You know, the standard filter is just you go down to the store, you buy it, and it does say MERV whatever on there, MERV 789, something like that. But electronic air filters kind of take this up a notch. So they have three stages. There’s a passive air filter, just like the typical filter you would put on your furnace. It’s kind of like a screen. It stops the chunks in the air like pet fur and dust bunnies, things like that. The second stage creates an electrical charge as the air passes through it. And this charge causes the particulates to stick to the third stage. So this is an electronic filter. It ionizes the air. And then the third stage is usually some type of a honeycomb structure that allows the air to pass through it freely because it’s polarized in the opposite of the second stage that collects the particulates like pollen, dust mites, and even odors. All right, you hanging with me so far? Yes, sir. So this type of system still needs to be rinsed off occasionally, but it does a much better job because it allows the air to flow freely.
SPEAKER 19 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
So again, there’s a lot of brands. We personally like AccuClean, but there’s a lot of good ones out there. So whatever you decide to use, you have a free choice.
SPEAKER 19 :
Love that.
SPEAKER 08 :
Keep your filtration system clean and working because you only have one set of lungs. Now, let’s talk about our personal filters. Okay. There’s constantly mental and emotional dust bunnies trying to clog up our mind. When I was in the first grade, they showed us a movie about how the pollution was causing the earth to get colder, and we were all going to freeze to death. My first stage filter caught that lie, and I wasn’t concerned. And Kim, you know, yesterday you quoted Michelangelo, do not fret for God did not create us to abandon us. I believed that and I wasn’t bothered by that propaganda. But some of my friends were really scared and they got really depressed thinking we’re all gonna freeze to death. So we get nonsense thrown at us all the time and this isn’t anything new. The decline of whale oil in the mid 1800s was going to be the end of civilization. We were all supposed to starve to death in the 90s because the earth was overpopulated and we couldn’t produce enough food. there’s always some kind of a doomsday scenario being thrown at us. Kim reminds us every day to read good books and listen to good music. It’s so important to keep our minds at peace and not be overwhelmed with the mantra of the day. But Kim also brings us a ton of information every day that can be overwhelming. She’s kind of our modern-day Sybil Ludington, who rode, by the way, 40 miles, twice the distance of Paul Revere, through a brutal rainstorm, She didn’t have any help or coordination from anyone else. She fought off a highwayman, also known as a thief. She avoided British soldiers and alerted the militia, who were the local farmers, that the British were raiding their supplies and burning the town of Danbury. So, what would happen if those people didn’t respond to the message that Sybil Ludington brought in the middle of the night? But more importantly for us as listeners, what will happen if we as individuals don’t respond to the message that our Sybil Luddington, aka Kim Monson, brings to us? We can’t do everything, but we can all do one or two things. So I want to encourage you, go to the school board meetings and electrify the air by taking a stand for no more porn in our school libraries. Go to the city and county commissioner’s meetings and use that second and third stage of your cultural air purifier. Electrify Jefferson County by asking why they want to shut down a tax-paying French bakery when the county is facing $30 million in budget cuts from the general fund. But they seem to be okay with homeless encampments and windows being shut out of businesses. Ask Arapahoe County why they think it’s okay to make 15,824,590 changes to the cast ballot record on February 20th at 926 a.m. Donate good, wholesome books to your local school library. So guys, we can all do something. Let’s respond to the call. Please pray for Kim and pray for your community.

I’m very excited, too. I was I was pretty happy to get that call from from Mark, the president of Constitution Week. And yeah, we talked about it for a little bit that night and and got things coordinated. And yeah, I think they just sent it out yesterday or the day before that the final schedule. So it’s very exciting. It’s a great lineup of folks. And, you know, I stand amongst giants for sure with with some of the speakers that week.
SPEAKER 19 :
Definitely. And so have you decided exactly what you’re going to talk about?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, it’ll be old book, new ideas, what the Federalist Papers teach us about the Constitution in life.
SPEAKER 19 :
And that is Friday night, 5 o’clock at the Community Center, right? Yes, ma’am. Okay, I’ll be up there for that. And then I am emceeing the next day. And it’s so fun. It’s such a taste of Americana. They have a parade and flag the… Fire engines have a flag at the end of the street. And the keynote on Saturday is Jonathan Turley, who is a nationally known scholar from Georgetown. But that’s going to be great. I’m very excited about that.

I’m pretty excited, too, and it’ll actually be a full week of Constitution because I’ll have to buzz over on Saturday. I’m seeing the Blessings of Liberty event again for the northern Colorado folks up in Windsor. So if you can’t get enough Constitution, stop by pretty much everywhere in Colorado right now.

Well, and Constitution Day is September 17th, and that was in 1787. when I guess they signed the Constitution that they had to ratify it. What I find so interesting, Alan, is James Madison is known as the father of the Constitution. And when I was back in Virginia, we were we went to his his estate and I standing in the room with all the books And I’m thinking, oh, my gosh, just if all they could talk. And but with that, there were many of the states that said we don’t want to ratify without a bill of rights. Now, my understanding is Alexander Hamilton didn’t think we needed a bill of rights because he felt that the Constitution constricted the government. Well, ha ha.
SPEAKER 03 :
Right. And Madison himself actually didn’t want it. Oh, really? He initially was very against the Bill of Rights and slowly through the process of talking through it, he actually did change his mind, which is very fascinating because our good friend, Dr. Cranawitter, has the same argument and he makes the same argument madison does is if they’re not enumerated in the constitution then the federal government cannot restrict that right and that was madison’s original point was we have constrained the federal government so much that we don’t need a bill of rights in fact the worry was if we enumerate ten of these rights people will think that you only have ten rights that the federal government cannot infringe on and he said no no no actually we have all of the rights So we don’t need it. It’s unnecessary. It’s redundant to then come in and say the federal government cannot go after these rights. And then slowly through the discourse, he actually changed his mind and said, hey, actually, this might be a really good idea. So he’s one of those very fascinating. It’s OK to change your mind when you are thoughtful about it, when you actually put in the work and have these great discussions with very civically educated folks.
SPEAKER 19 :
Well, my understanding, Alan, is that a number of the states did not want to ratify. And Madison said, you ratify and we’ll do a Bill of Rights. What politician would you ever trust to keep their word these days? Is that correct? Do I…
SPEAKER 03 :
It is. And well, the other half of that is and the reason why the Federalist Papers is so fascinating. And Jefferson called it the number one book about the Constitution. In fact, he even though him and Hamilton fought very, very often and very often. meanly I guess is the best way of saying it when Madison establishes college he actually had the Federalist Papers as one of the things that they taught because the Federalist Papers was actually to convince the public to ratify the Constitution so it was written in 1787 and it was written really for a New York newspaper, because New York was one of the last holdouts that didn’t want to ratify the Constitution. And Madison, Hamilton, and Jay contributed a couple. They were really writing the Federalist Papers to say, this is why the Constitution is a good idea. This is why you should get on board. This is why we need to ratify it. So it’s a very long, not only what the Constitution is, but why and how they got there, and then why it’s a good idea compared to the articles of that we had before.
SPEAKER 04 :
If I can add, if you don’t honor the Constitution, then it means nothing. Because the Marxicoms are writing policies and laws that are antithetical to our Constitution, that are antithetical to the Bill of Rights. And what is the consequence? There is none, other than to vote them out of office. And they continue to do it over and over again. I mean, look at Colorado and our Second Amendment bill. I’m fairly certain that over time, all of those laws will be thrown out. But there’s a process we have to go through. In the meantime, people can’t get guns, or they have to pay a ton of money just to get licensed to get a gun. We live in a society where our politicians don’t respect the rule of law, and they don’t respect our Constitution. And they don’t respect us. And they 100% don’t respect us. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER 19 :
and so question for you because i was on city council and we take an oath to uphold the constitution and there are those that say the constitution is for the federal government and certainly they gave a lot of of decision making it goes over to the state’s local government and I’ve always thought no matter whether or not it’s a federal law or if it’s an ordinance here at city council, it always has to cut the muster of the vision of the declaration and our constitution. But there are those that say, no, that the founders wanted it to be a petri dish of all these different states so that they can compete in this battle of ideas. But I really think, Alan, that that. Our electeds need to have that constitution, whether or not they’re on city council or at the federal government. So what would you say to people on that?
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, and maybe this is a good segue into the article as well. The paradox of freedom is you’re exactly right. They did envision and plan on states having a massive amount of plenary power that wasn’t enumerated in the Constitution. And basically they said, hey, if it doesn’t violate the Constitution, if it doesn’t violate the purpose of the federal government. So, for instance, they said, OK, like, listen, states. we gave this right of the federal government to protect its borders, right? So since we gave that right to the federal government, it’s not on you to do that. Since we gave the right of establishing treaties to the federal government, we don’t want states going out and saying, okay, Brazil, we want to make a treaty with you as Georgia. You know, that’s the point of the federal government. So the constitution said, okay, the things that we have given the federal government to do, the purposes that we’ve given it, States obviously can’t encroach upon those, but they did give a massive amount of rights to the states. And point positive, actually, many of the 13 states had an establishment, had a state religion that was endorsed by the state well after the Constitution was signed because they said, okay, the federal government cannot endorse one specific religion, right? But they didn’t constrain the states to that same standard. So many states, well after the Constitution was signed, actually had state religions in their state constitutions. But that comes back to the point of my article is just because a state or a person or an organization can do something doesn’t necessarily make it a good idea, right? And the example I brought up to kind of introduce the topic was, as you well know with toddlers, when you give them the freedom to make a choice, sometimes it can get pretty dangerous, right? When you ask your five-year-old with no constraints, no boundaries, and you say, what do you want for dinner? You get a lot of interesting choices, right? A lot of times with us, it’s, well, you also need to pick a meat. You also need to pick a vegetable, right? Because they will give ice cream, sprinkles, brownies. Oh, I think we had donuts this morning, so I just want donuts for dinner. You asked me what I wanted, so that’s what I want, right? Well, where should we go? Well, let’s go to the moon this afternoon, right? You get this freedom of answers, and Sadly, it’s one of those that we can kind of laugh and joke about it with toddlers and say, oh, they don’t really know how to use their freedom well because they don’t restrain themselves and discipline themselves to good choices. But then we sit here and we talk about politics and we talk about what other people are doing with our money, for instance. When they’re kind of exhibiting that toddler-like behavior at the state house, when they say, now that I have other people’s money, how am I going to spend it? We see that same lack of self-restraint from our politicians. And really, you look at it and you say, well, is this kind of mirroring us as a people? Are we really surprised that when we as individuals are at a point in time that we have the most amount of personal debt ever on record, individuals have accrued the most debt ever on record, are we really surprised that our national debt is mirroring that? That our national debt has also increased to levels beyond record and really beyond comprehension? No, not really, because since we as individuals, the the foundational bedrock of society and governance, if we as individuals are not showing restraint, can we really be surprised that our politicians are not showing restraint either? And so it’s. The point being that we need to build from the ground up, that we as an individual need to say, just because I can do something doesn’t mean it’s wise and prudent to do so. We have the ability to come on air and say whatever we want. We could sit here and we could rant and rave about some bad service or some driver that cut us off. But is that really a wise thing to do in this show? No, you know, we’re not educating. We’re not furthering the dialogue. We’re not adding to the discourse, just ranting and raving just because I can come on air and do that doesn’t mean it’s a, a wise and prudent decision. And so I need to restrain myself and say, maybe I should add to the public discourse. Maybe I should control what I’m saying and not abuse that freedom that I’ve been given. Um, Like Dwight Eisenhower said in the whole impetus of this article, his quote was, freedom has been defined as the opportunity for self-discipline. And that’s really what this kind of boils down to is we’re given this wide array of choices. And the more freedom we’re given, the more choices we have, but the more need to actually have a virtuous self and discipline ourselves and restrain ourselves to the actual wise and prudent choice.
SPEAKER 19 :
So, Ellen, I think we’ll keep this as a cliffhanger. What has happened is we’ve gotten to a society where we have not restrained ourselves. And, Cain, I’m sure you’re going to speak to that as well. When there are no boundaries, when we start to redefine words, we thought that – and I talked a bit about that earlier this week – It’s no surprise that we get to a point where we’re now on a redefinition of man and woman and what that means exactly. I can’t wait. It’s awesome. But let’s talk about your piece that we’re rolling out this weekend, The Paradox of Freedom. What else should we know about that?
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, and like we had talked about before, you have what an individual will do and how that reflects up towards our government. But between the government and the individual are really these groups, right? And groups is pretty loosely defined. That can be our businesses, our churches, our HOAs, our municipal, our state governments. Really these groups that bind us together, that give us a society at large, right? And we see this mirroring effect of what individuals do into the groups, right? So if individuals care more about being keyboard warriors and ranting and raving online in these semi-anonymous posts, well, it’s no surprise then that these groups also kind of mirror that, that they then encourage… We have encouraged our media groups, for instance, to care more about… Getting popularity over truth. And that really is a reflection on us as individuals caring more about getting our opinion out there without first filtering it through the lens of just because I can say this, should I say it? And it’s no surprise then that we see our media start to just follow the sways of where our society is going. And when you have a non-virtuous society, we should not be surprised that our media then starts to mirror that. But we also have this interesting irony in that when groups begin to abdicate their responsibility, when they aren’t disciplined enough to actually take action, we then see the federal government step into that vacuum. So, for instance, when we see our churches start to abdicate taking care of the poor, the widows, the orphans, the homeless, it’s no surprise that we then see our federal government step into that vacuum. And it’s something we’ve talked about many times on air, how absolutely necessary and how that’s not the proper role of government. But then again… We shouldn’t be surprised. This is something, when I was talking about this last night with my wife, she said, oh, this is absolutely what Alexis de Tocqueville warned. He warned that if we abdicate, if we become so individualistic that there actually might be this vacuum where the federal government says you are so cared, you have so much ego about yourself that you are not actually being disciplined enough to care about your community and your neighbors. that the federal government will step in and start to take over that responsibility. So we really have ourselves to blame for that lack of discipline, for that lack of action. And so when we see these groups, these businesses, not exhibit this disciplined behavior, we then see how the federal government does, and as many things with the federal government, it’s not done well. And so we as a society lose out on those benefits of the societal groups abdicating their responsibility. And then we also see kind of the last main point, just to kind of tie this button in, is when we lack the discipline as businesses, as individuals, we see the formation of bureaucratic groups. And the point I brought up was the EPA. And as an environmental engineer, we actually studied this quite a bit because the EPA has a lot to do with your job as an environmental engineer. But the impetus of the EPA actually happened because people were not restraining their behavior. We had businesses, we had people dumping their trash and polluting the river to the point to where the Cuyahoga River burned. the entire river burned for days. And it became a federal government intervention because absolutely, rivers cross state lines. The state governments weren’t telling people to play by the rules. We saw the tragedy of the commons in full effect because people were not restraining what they could do. They absolutely had the right at that time to dump things wherever, but it wasn’t the right idea. It wasn’t a wise idea. It wasn’t a good idea to do that to your fellow neighbors. There’s river burns for days and days and days. And now we get the influx of the federal government creating the EPA to say, hey, you are messing things up for your neighbors down the line. You are not making wise, restrained, virtuous choices. So now we need to step in and help out because you are negatively impacting other people’s rights now. And so it’s that lack of virtue. We can see how actually now it is the federal government’s job to step in and say, play by the rules, quit impacting the rights of other people. But as many things with the federal government, things that maybe needed to be temporary became permanent. And we saw the size and scope of the federal government expand, which all could have been prevented if individuals, businesses would have exhibited that virtue and would have restrained what they could do to what should they do.
SPEAKER 19 :
And then what happens is these bureaucracies that are unelected and unaccountable then see a little bit of power, and then it gets out of hand. And so then we get, of course, to the Chevron decision. at the Supreme Court, and all that could have been prevented if we had been responsible citizens.
SPEAKER 03 :
Absolutely.
SPEAKER 19 :

So I thought paradox would be a great word. And it is spelled P-A-R-A-D-O-X. It could be a statement that seems to contradict itself but may nonetheless be true. Number two, a person, thing, or situation that exhibits inexplicable and contradictory aspects. Number three, a statement that is self-contradictory or logically untenable, though based on a valid deduction from acceptable premises. And I think it should be easy for people to use the word paradox in a sentence today.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, I have one. Okay, let’s hear it. Yeah, 35 years ago, a paradox removed my appendix. Yes, touchdown. Sorry, I’m sorry. I have a hard time. My wife’s going to be mad at me. How’d that go, Joe? What do you think?

Yes, they have. In fact, this is not new. What they did with the Negro population in the 60s is exactly what they did to the gays and lesbians and what they did to the Democrat Party. They took it over. They’re Marxist communists. They don’t like me. They don’t like me because I’m a Negro and I speak the truth. They don’t like you because you’re white. They don’t like you because you’re a woman. They despise white men. And they say it, and nobody pushes back. They say it to the public in a public forum. What is it? Too stale, too male, too pale. Or toxic masculinity. They do not like men. They want you to be soft and feminine so that they can control. They want to destroy the lion, right, Ben? Destroy the lion, and then they can control the country.

So I was talking with someone about So somebody they knew was dating somebody. And I said, so what is he like? Is he a Tim Walls man, or is he a man, Tim Walls? Explains a lot right there, right?

And it’s unfortunate because a Tim Walls will not defend his own wife, his child. Or his state. I talked about Denver, I’m not Denver, Boulder, the fire guy that burned all those people over in Boulder a few months ago. There was no lion that stood up to fight him. A lion should have shown up and said, I’m going to get burned so these innocent men and women don’t get harmed. Now, not that there wasn’t any courageous people, because there were people helping the injured while the guy was still burning people. So there was still courage. So in Windsor Charter Academy, there’s a, I think he’s a senior, but he’s transitioning into a girl, a woman, and they… The principal and the high school, what is it called, director of high school education have decided that he gets to go into the girls’ bathrooms. No. He gets to go in their lockers. And their solution is these girls, well, you can go to the nurse’s bathroom. Well, how about if he goes to the nurse’s bathroom? Why not? Why is his rights greater than those? other girls. Or you know what? If you’re so into it, build a transgender bathroom just for these people. Put your money where your mouth is and build a separate bathroom for these people so they’re comfortable. So we’re not infringing on the rights of us regular Americans. I’m going to call out some names. Mrs. Mancina, the director of high school education. Ms. I’m not saying that right. Assistant principals. What’s wrong with you? Why is this okay? He’s not a girl. Are you saying he’s a girl? Can he menstruate? Can he lactate? Will he suffer from menopause? No. What is wrong with you? This is going to follow you for the rest of your life. You’re harming children. You’re harming this boy pretending to be a girl and you’re acknowledging his mental illness. Shame on you. Shame on you, Windsor Charter Academy. Shame on you, RE4. You people are sick and you’re gonna suffer the consequences. We have a transgender that killed two children. In Minneapolis this week. In Minneapolis, shot 13, 14. Why is it? Here’s the comparison. American Negroes are some of the most violent people in the country. Why is that? Remove the family, remove the fathers. These transgenders, the last six mass shootings, have been a transgender. Why is that? The common denominator is they’re both victims. They’re victims with the Democrat Party. You get to become a victim, means you get to kill people, you get to be violent. They’re both victims. They both get holidays. The transgenders get a whole month. The American Negroes, they get the entire month of February, they get rewarded for their bad behavior. They never do anything. The Marxicoms, the Democrats never do anything to correct it.

Well, and this is also why you say so often that we are at a crossroads, a political ideological crossroads. Because when you don’t, you know, the founders believed that there was truth and it could be discovered. That maybe we didn’t know the whole truth, but we could eventually get there. We could eventually reason our way there. Whereas with this marxicom progressive ideology, there is no truth. Truth can be relative. And when you adopt that mindset, it is no wonder that they can believe these horrible ideas. When they believe more in emotion than reason, that’s how you can tell a person, yeah, if you believe that you’re a different gender, then it’s absolutely true. Whereas on our ideology, we believe truth. No, there is truth, we can discover it, we can reason through it, and this is why we are not going to call a him a her. But when you see this conflict of ideas, it really comes down to this principle of, do you believe that there is an absolute truth and that it can be discovered and reasoned? And one side says no, and the other side says yes.

And the problem we have with that is that we have these educated, what did you call them, Kim?

And when you study it, you should be able to say, maybe we should stop teaching that.

Well, and I need to do nihilism as a word of the day. I’ve struggled with the definition of that. What is that exactly?

Well, it’s a lot of there is no God, right? It’s saying that we are all just accidents. And so when you lose God or even, you know, as Plato said, the fascinating thing about Plato is he could reason himself to a being higher than us. He said the great mover, right? He said there’s something that had to get this all started. So when you say that there’s no force greater than you, when we are the ultimate force or we are the same level as the trees and the birds and the animals that run on the ground, what do you truly have to live for? And so when you lose God, when you lose a reason and a being, you’re going to be depressed because, you know, as I think many in this room believe, God wrote himself onto our hearts. And so there’s this craving, there’s this ache to always have a God. So when you fill that God with yourself, you’re going to be depressed because you’re not perfect. And everybody knows that they’re not perfect, even the ones that want to say that they are. and and the politicians and the you know we talked about hollywood before the show too just how the these popular people just are are so depressed and live these lives that are so filled well they filled themselves they filled that hole with themselves and so they’re depressed and they’re not given any hope anything to aspire to higher than themselves and that’s depressing

You can no longer be silent. Let me say this. At some point, our president is going to have the money follow the kids. When that takes place, the whole game changes. Until then, you have to show up and fight. You have to tell that teacher who’s giving your kid a book that shows a little girl giving fellatio to an adult male. But the damage, there’s damage that’s already done. My father always said, be careful what you listen to, what you read. And they know what they’re doing. This is grooming kids for something else. They know what they’re doing. That’s why they are fighting so hard to keep these books in schools.

And when you say the damage is already done, it is. We have a generation or two of kids that are going to grow up with this. They’re not going to know why their brain is misconstrued or their brain is marbled or jumbled. They’re not going to know. They’re going to just have this.

But with Christ, everyone is redeemable. Yes. And so we need to make sure that people have that message of hope. You were talking about, well, we were talking about truth. Yes. And so I was reading Genesis the other day, and right off the bat, it’s man and it’s woman. So this jumbling of man and woman is a direct assault upon the creator, the creation, the whole thing.

Well, and with that, I think it was Thomas Sowell said there’s one thing that cuts across racial barriers and everything. He said, if you want to avoid poverty, there’s three things you need to do. He said, if you have a mother and a father that are present in your life. than if you graduate high school, and if you wait to have kids until you are married, statistically, you will be above the poverty line. You said those are the three? Yeah, those three things cut across racial, income, any sort of barrier. You have your parents at home, you get your GED, and you wait to have kids until you’re married, you will be above the poverty line. And that’s one of the scary things is, but the more dependent we have people on the government role, the more powerful government is.

Well, but we’re destroying the minds of these children. So what are they going to do? They’re going to be on the government dole. They won’t be able to do anything else. I was talking to my wife last night and she goes, she has a friend that her daughter’s 22 years old, doesn’t work, doesn’t do anything. And she was telling her, why are you paying for a cell phone? Make her get a job. Adults are doing this to their own kids. What is our future if we don’t? I love the fact that I grew up in a time where you didn’t wear a helmet when you rode your bike.

You did not. You jumped. In fact, there’s a little girl going on her cul-de-sac and her mom’s running next to her. She can ride her bike. I’ve been watching her for weeks. Train wheels came off, she could ride. But the mom stayed right there with her. I’m like, let her fall.

Let that baby fall, man. But again, that’s usually the father’s side, right? I mean, Jordan Peterson talks about this a lot. And when you lose the impact of the fathers, I mean, I can see myself with this too. My wife is very caring and protecting. She has this maternal instinct. Yes. And Jordan Peterson calls it the all-consuming mother. You can get to a point to where you’re shielding your child so much from life that they can’t learn to go out into it. And when you lose the presence of the father, when I sit there and, I mean, just the other day at the park, my little two-year-old missed a step. Didn’t realize there was a little ditch and kind of fell for it. And I go, good job, man. Like, dust it off. And Keelan’s like, oh, no, he almost hit his head. And it’s just this difference. It’s the yin and the yang of fathers and mothers. And when you lose that paternal instinct of saying, no, you know what? Push yourself. Go out into the world. Get a couple of skinned knees. It goes back to the suffering.

Too many in the black community, if that’s a real thing, have failed, 100% failed. Now, were we encouraged? Yeah, but we still had a choice. We still had a choice to tell that woman back in the 60s to tell your wife or girlfriend, no, no, no, you’re not going to take that government money. I’m going to stay in this house and raise my kids. Where many, many, not just black women, many, many women go, Bubba, you got to go, man, because I can get $200 a month from each one of these kids and I got 10 of them. It’s horrible. LBJ, thank you very much. I don’t think it was a good president. I think it was horrible.

Can I throw in something real quick regarding divorce? Yes. I just want to give a word of encouragement to the men out there who find themselves in this horrible situation. I just want to tell you, be a man, fulfill your responsibilities, live a righteous life of integrity, and know that in time the truth will come out. Oh, man.

I went through a divorce, by the way, 15 years ago. And you almost brought me to tears. Because it is horrible. It was necessary, but it’s a horrible pain you go through. And I was going to hang in until my youngest daughter was out of high school. And it didn’t work that way. And it’s still painful to this day. but you still have to be responsible for your seed. You still have to make the effort to take care of your seed. The reason why the black community is the way it is, there is no father. There’s no father figures. It doesn’t have to necessarily be the dad for that child. For me, it was television. I was a fan of Bonanza, Little House on the, not Little House on the Prairie, Bonanza, I just drew a blank. I have told these school board members in northern Colorado, I’m going to put you in jail for the pornography that you’re giving to kids. It’s a violation of federal law. I’m in the process of writing a letter to President Trump. I’m going to copy. Dan Bongino, Kash Patel, Pam Bondi, Lauren Boebert, and then Kennedy, Senator Kennedy from Louisiana. Yeah. I’m going to copy them. Here’s the law. Can we start putting these people in jail? Can you at least make a statement to them that if you continue this, we are going to pursue it? Just like marijuana is federally, it’s illegal. to possess, to sell. It’s illegal. The only reason why they can do it here in Colorado is because the federal government has said, okay, we’re just going to let them slide. But the law is there. It’s illegal. These pornographic books are… Illegal. Illegal. And we can’t let it slide. And we cannot let it slide. It is harming babies. Well, and we’re kind of circling this idea of we need a virtuous society, right? When we talk about these dads that want to be in their life, they need to exercise their right to self-assertion. You can’t just sit back and not assert yourself when it’s necessary. We also kind of circled the topic of self-reliance, right? Like, don’t rely on your government. to teach your kids, to feed you. And that’s coming all the way back to what you asked. What about these parents that can’t not put their kids into public school, right? What are they supposed to do? Well, you have to be self-reliant. You have to realize it is your right and responsibility as a parent to educate your kid. And that may mean that you have to exert that right after school and before school and to countermand a lot of these horrible, nihilistic, progressive, marxist ideas by saying, no, no, no, I’m responsible for teaching my kid just because they have to go to public school because I can’t afford a private school doesn’t mean that I have to abdicate my responsibility to teach my kid. It’s difficult. It’s going to be hard, but it is your right as the parent to be self-reliant, to teach your own kids that same self-reliance.

If a man walks up to your child in the mall and he punches your little girl in the face, what are you going to do? I’m fairly certain that that man is going to go to the hospital. What is the difference between that man in the mall punching your kid in the face and these school board members providing your children with porn? Now, I’m not saying go out and punch the school board members in the face. I’m saying you should be angry.

He said, and the issue is, is that now all of these PBIs trying to control us, they say, we want you to live where you work and not commute because they want to get us out of our cars and they don’t want us to have homeownership. So here, EFWLA is doing just that. The property’s zoned commercial. All they need is a variance to say they can live there, but Jefferson County is just being power-hungry on it. That’s awesome, bro. Well, you know, it’s demonstrated by the fact that one of the Poudre High School counselors was arrested. She was arrested for sexual assault on minors. And so you know it was serious because the bond was $500,000. So that’s what’s going on in our school district from our counselors. How many children did this counselor affect?

Because there’s a lot of kids that we don’t know. The other thing is that’s another reason why to say no to these school districts when they’re asking for more money, Wyatt.

Most definitely. I mean, I’m fighting the… Property tax right now. My money is used for these perverts, sodomites, and deviants.

So with that, thank you, Wyatt. This came in on the text line. Question for you. Because we were talking about, you said protect your seed as men, even if there’s divorce. The question is, what do you say if the men file for divorce against the wife? What do you say?

So from there, it’s societal, right? It’s demanding, hey, you are the father. You need to show up. So even when the man wants to divorce the wife, it’s like don’t. And don’t abdicate your responsibility as a man. And you see this so often of men that just say, you know what? It was an accident. I don’t really want to be around. I’ll throw as much money as I want towards you. And it’s like, no, you’re not a man. You’re a little boy. Because you are abdicating your responsibility as the father to be in this child’s life. And so that’s what we as a society need to hold and say. Because right now, as a society, we don’t. Right.
SPEAKER 04 :
The number of men that tell their girlfriend, yeah, I’m going to take you up to that clinic in Fort Collins so you can get that baby taken care of. Because I don’t want to be a dad. I think that happens more often than not. Where the man… has advocated his responsibility to protect that child. Where when the woman says, and I would love to talk to the churches and the pastors, change the culture, raise these young men. You should be speaking to young men. If you get that child, that woman pregnant, it is your responsibility to tell that girl, that woman, I’m going to take care of you for nine months. Don’t kill my baby. Please don’t kill my baby. I’ll take care of you for nine months. If you don’t want the baby after that, give me my baby. I will raise this child. This is my seed. We should be teaching young men to be in control and to take care of their responsibilities. There used to be a time if you got a woman pregnant, shotgun wedding, you’re getting married. You’re getting married today.
SPEAKER 19 :
I know some people had a long marriage and five children. And she said it took nine months for the last four. The first one was premature.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, but this also goes back to self-restraint, right? We have this freedom in our society to have sex as much and as often as we want. But just because we have the freedom to do that doesn’t make it a good idea. And that’s the irony of some of God’s quote unquote rules that he has in the Bible. It’s like, no, this is just a good idea. He knows the pain and heartache that can happen. when you have children outside of wedlock. Not to say that it always will lead to pain and heartache, but more often than not, the generalization is it can lead to a lot of negative things. It can lead to men leaving. It can lead to a lot of pain and heartache. And so these ideas may be good, and it’s difficult to lead that disciplined life and to say, I have the freedom to do something, but it doesn’t make it a good idea.
SPEAKER 04 :
It’s the government overreach, government involvement, where a woman gets pregnant and the government says, we’re going to give you money. It’s been happening for decades and decades.
SPEAKER 19 :
And that was LBJ. You referenced LBJ.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, to 10, 15 kids. Not 15 kids. They have a ton of kids, and they know that someone’s going to take care of them.
SPEAKER 19 :
But they don’t really take care of them. It’s a subsistence. It is a subsistence.
SPEAKER 04 :
Wouldn’t you say? It’s a surviving survival funding. It’s not living. You’re getting enough money to eat and you don’t die and starve. My girlfriend at the time got pregnant when I was 19 years old. Had the baby. I’m like, oh boy, we’re not doing that again. It took us 10 years. We got married and had another kid 10 years later. I’m like, no, no, no, we’re not doing that. If I was of the mindset of those in that community, I would still be popping out babies. Because I know that the government overreach is going to come in and they’re going to take care of them. If they have to suffer when you have five kids and there’s nobody coming, maybe the church, you’ll stop having so many babies. Or you’ll learn how to live with that source of income that you have. Which is, I know people were really poor. They ate sugar sandwiches for dinner. But it’s the responsibility of the man. Our country is the way it has been because men have failed.
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s right. Okay, go ahead. And you know what? Here’s something where we as people in society can really have an influence. So many guys, you know, you grew up in a messed up family and you feel like you’re just winging it. You are out there on an island all by yourself. And I want to encourage the older guys who have been there, done that. Come alongside a young guy who you see who is struggling and say, hey, can we get together? Let’s go to Hooters and have some wings or whatever, right? Let’s just get together and talk and just get in this guy’s life. How’s it going, man? And if a guy feels safe, he will start to open up. And this isn’t a one and done. Get together. Hey, can we get together next week? Next month? And follow up and walk alongside him through this struggle because so many guys are desperately looking for some kind of leadership.

I think we have life experiences because of the time in which we grew up that we can share those stories and that person can see. Oh, this is not that bad.
