SPEAKER 15 :
He’s the happy conservative warrior. From the Relief Factor Studios, here’s Mike Geller.
SPEAKER 13 :
Like I say, it’s hard not to be happy here in Grapevine, Texas, at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. And speaking of broadcasters, I thought it would be nice. I’d extend the gesture to Chris Stegall, who’s the new morning host on the Salem Radio Network and Salem News Channel. Now, I was a big advocate for Chris. Thank you. I’m proud of him, and I got to visit last night with Chris and his wonderful wife. Phil Boyce said, hey, have you done Chris’s show yet, Mike? I said, what, no, he hasn’t asked. He said he hasn’t asked.
SPEAKER 11 :
Here’s what we know. If I invited you, you’d say, I don’t get up at that hour. I’m very busy. That’s what we know. You need your beauty rest, Mike Gallagher. You’ve got the mud mask and the whole thing. Very busy schedule. Good morning, Mike.
SPEAKER 13 :
Hello. Great to see you, Chris. And since we’re both here at the same booth, Incidentally, furiously wiping it down with Clorox wipeys. That’s what I heard. Eric Metaxas was the walking dead yesterday.
SPEAKER 11 :
He’s sick as a dog.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yeah, but he’s sitting here. Of course. So I said, fumigate the whole set, burn the chair.
SPEAKER 11 :
There’s zero chance we get out of this thing not sick.
SPEAKER 13 :
No way. I’ll have the nanovirus, the norovirus. I’ll have COVID. I’ll have, because I’m a little bit of a hypochondriac.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, and the thing is, you know, now in the post-COVID world, that’s all anybody talks about. And I’m always, the delineation mark is the mask. Do you go as far as wearing a mask or not?
SPEAKER 12 :
Not me, no.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay. Well, there are people that wear them, you know, through the airport now and somewhere in here. Yeah.
SPEAKER 13 :
Why? But then I always want to give them grace because I think, well, maybe they’re compromised, maybe they’re sick, maybe they’re fighting cancer. But when I see, I love it when I see like a 35-year-old couple, they’re wearing matching Lululemon jogging suits, and they’ve got their Louis Vuitton bags, and they’re on the plane in first class, and they’ve got their masks on. It’s insane. You know who they are. You know who they voted for.
SPEAKER 11 :
It is so good to see you. You know, when I greeted you and you pulled up, You said I was asking you your flight from Tampa to get here to Dallas, and I had to correct you.
SPEAKER 13 :
You said you flew over the Gulf of Mexico. Mike, you’re going to get audited. President Trump is not going to be happy with me. Look, he’s doing a lot. He got the asteroid stopped yesterday. He’s doing a lot of stuff. I mean, I hope you saw the asteroid now. It’s not going to hit Earth in 2032. That’s MAGA. I mean, it’s Donald Trump.
SPEAKER 11 :
It’s Elon Musk. Isn’t it amazing that the guy is having as much fun? I mean, when you really quantify what’s happened to him in the last year, I mean, yes, he won, and that’s all great, but he was nearly killed. His home was raided.
SPEAKER 13 :
Twice, yep.
SPEAKER 11 :
Twice, almost killed.
SPEAKER 13 :
And he’s still dead. I’m kind of like joking around and having fun with this. Well, you and I were at the White House last week, and the atmosphere there is one of determination, and they’re very, very focused like lasers, but they’re kind of giddy. They’re happy. Really? I mean, Dr. Gorka, you said, is he drunk? I said, no, he’s just happy. Seeing a happy, jovial Zeb Gorka is a little unusual.
SPEAKER 11 :
And for the stuff that he sees. I mean, he sees some pretty dark stuff every day in these reports. I’ve never seen a man more happy seeing some really alarming stuff.
SPEAKER 13 :
He’s getting the bad guys. All right, so this is Chris DeGaulle, who’s our new morning host. And, of course, he’s been the pride and joy of Philadelphia. Your radio career includes stints in Kansas City, Philly. I got to know you on the Alaska cruise that we did last year, and we just had a beautiful vacation. Yeah, we did. And I just kept telling my bosses, this guy’s the real deal, and I’m so proud and pleased and happy that you wound up taking the Hugh Hewitt slot because Hugh moved to Afternoons to take Gorka’s slot. So I want to ask you, Chris, you’re a journeyman. You’ve been at this a long time for a relatively young guy. How’s the national stint been going? What’s your perspective after the first few weeks at the helm?
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, I know this about your show more than any other that I listen to. I know how much you value your audience calling in and giving you their perspective. And I think what is so powerful about it is literally every corner of the country you can hear from people. I mean, our first week when I heard a call from Seattle and then I get another call from your neck of the woods and another call from up in the northeast and here in Texas. It’s that’s real perspective that I still maintain as much as the media landscape will always shift. Right? There’s nothing like what we do here in Talk Radio and the ability to real-time talk with an audience in real-time, pick up the phone and call us and tell us what’s going on on the ground in their backyard. It’s a perspective. You can’t get it on TV. You can’t get it anywhere else.
SPEAKER 13 :
We had lunch yesterday with Mark Davis’ listeners. He got eight people here in the Dallas area to donate to his Food for the Poor campaign. That’s awesome. And to have lunch with Mark and Mike. And Mark and I do this segment every day on his show at 735. And… These were eight of the most delightful, loving, wonderful, patriotic people, all in about their 40s, 50s, 60s. And Mark said, I said to Mark, isn’t it crazy what a great group this is? He said, Mike, that’s our audience. Yes. That’s the audience of Salem. That’s the audience of Chris DeGaulle. That’s the audience of all of us. These are wonderful people. And I’m sorry to knock music radio, but you don’t find listeners like that in other formats. Yes.
SPEAKER 11 :
No, and it’s so smart. So smart. You know, oftentimes pretty accomplished people. But the perspective, I mean, we talked to a guy, I think, in Tampa who called us yesterday. He was on his way to a bricklaying job. These are people that do real work. And so when you talk about these federal government workers who are whining and bellyaching, not that they don’t all do work. Some of them are great. But… Talking to people, real people going to work every day, you get the appreciation for what’s going on outside. The Beltway media were fed all the time. Beltway media is telling us that everyone’s head’s on fire because federal workers are being forced to be accountable. I know. It’s like the rest of the country does not see it that way, Mike.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, the rest of the country looks at these people like they’re nuts. That’s right. I mean, if you got from any of us had our bosses say, can you tell us what you did last week? Five bullet points. Yeah. We wouldn’t melt down. We’d respond to the email.
SPEAKER 11 :
I told Eddie, I was at a brief lunch yesterday. Santrella, the guy that runs the whole show here for Salem, I’m sitting next to him. And I said to Eddie, can you imagine if Dave Santrella said, I’d like to know five things you did yesterday. And I said, I don’t report to you. I report to my direct supervisor.
SPEAKER 13 :
Right. And then tell him that you’re infuriated that he would even ask.
SPEAKER 11 :
That was the lady on CNN. Remember, did you see her?
SPEAKER 13 :
She said, I’m infuriated. This is outrageous. Don’t they know who I am? It’s like, no, Dave would have the right to ask me if he wants what I did yesterday. And meanwhile, the press is melting down over the White House being, you know, controlled in terms of what who gets access. This White House Correspondents Association. has been obliterated. And of all people, Jackie Heinrich, the reporter from Fox News, lashing out against what Trump and Caroline Leavitt are doing.
SPEAKER 11 :
Both Fox and Newsmax are trying to push back. There’s this thing, this bowing at the altar of the Associated Press, because that’s just the way it is. The Associated Press is the gold standard. They’re the granddaddy of media. Says who? I know, says who?
SPEAKER 13 :
Where’s that written down? And incidentally, Jackie Heinrich is a board member of the White House Correspondents Association. And there you go. So there’s the answer, I guess. Chris DeGaulle, I couldn’t be happier for you doing mornings on many of our stations around the country. And thank you, by the way, for showing me up by not wearing the headphones, the clunky headphones for our hit. So Carrie Pahagian will write an email about how, see, why can’t Mike wear? But see, here’s the thing. You’ve got two of the IFBs in your ears. That’s right. You told me that. When you asked me first about this transition from headphones to TV for Salem News Channel, and we call them IFBs. That’s right. These are these fitted, ghastly things that go inside your ear.
SPEAKER 11 :
I hate them, actually, yeah.
SPEAKER 13 :
It’s like a worm brain. It’s like Bobby Kennedy. That’s right. It’s the worst. It’s awful. But when it’s loud in a room, I can’t hear from one ear. Well, you solved that because you’ve got two of them.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yep. I ordered a split deal where I can plug in both ears. Was that hard to do? No. I mean, I have to hear. I’ve always been, you know, voice. And so now we do the TV thing where the people look and they say, don’t wear the headphones. So I said, can we make two? And the people said, yeah, we can make two.
SPEAKER 13 :
There he is kissing up to the bosses. That’s what he does. And I can happily say to my boss, one of the things I did last week, I had Chris DeGaulle on my show. Tomorrow we shall see if Mike Gallagher will make an appearance on the Chris DeGaulle show.
SPEAKER 11 :
Being on Mike Gallagher’s show is like doing five things. So I’ve done my five things for the day. All the boxes are checked. That’s right. That’s right. Keep fighting the good fight, my friend. Come back and see me in the morning if you dare get up.
SPEAKER 13 :
I’ll be up. I’ll be up. I’ll see you. Keep it up, Chris. Thanks, Mike. The great Chris DeGaulle. Check him out. Join his Harumph Society. It’s fantastic. Google it. The Harumph Society. Be part of the Chris DeGaulle Club. His world. It’s the coolest thing. I’ll tell you about it on the other side of the break about Harumph. And we’ve got to talk about the latest from Whale Psychiatrist, my favorite site to follow on X, because Whale Psychiatrist, whoever he or she is, chronicles a day in the life of the Trump administration. Welcome into Texas, day two of the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. The Mike Gallagher Show here in the Relief Factor Studios, coming up.
SPEAKER 01 :
I guess you’ll do.
SPEAKER 04 :
Third-rate romance, lore and rhyme.
SPEAKER 13 :
Ph.D. weight loss has changed my life, and I’ve got a little secret for you. You know Big Pharma and semaglutide and the shots in the belly. You’ve seen the story recently about the study that shows that a lot of people that are getting this are going blind. You don’t want to do this. You want a program to lose weight that’s centered around science and nutrition, a proven roadmap that has helped over 8,000 clients lose weight and keep it off, like me. I lost 53 pounds a few years ago, and I’ve kept it off. I know what to eat and when. I know how to quiet any of the cravings I might get and finally release that unhealthy belly fat that I carried along for so long. Make the phone call that can change your life in the way it changed mine. It’s called PhD Weight Loss. PhD Weight Loss, Dr. Ashley Lucas’ program is brilliant. And how do I know? Well, 53 pounds later, here I am. 864-644-1900 is their number. Call and schedule your consultation. You can do this program from anywhere in America. Call 864-644-1900, 864-644-1900, or visit MyPhDWeightLoss.com.
SPEAKER 14 :
Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 13 :
Continuing, looks like we got the glitches worked out. The hamsters are running on the wheels, and we’re good to go on this busy, busy day at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. It’s so funny how everything is reliant, and of course, naturally, Eric, I don’t have any computer for my OneNote. I’ve got no OneNote at all here, so you’re going to have to sort of walk me through what we’ve got going with OneNote because everything collapsed Internet-wise. We’re also on the lookout for Yael Eckstein from the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. And – I love, incidentally, the hat that just came in to the White House. And do you want a Trump was right about everything hat? It just came in. Check this out. Cut. Number three. Here’s President Trump celebrating a new red hat in the Oval Office.
SPEAKER 03 :
Here, give me this here. Give me all of them. Look. See that? Trump was right about everything. Just came in. Somebody sent, I said, this was sent in by a fan. I said, I think we should make some of them, right? But we were, pretty much. You want one? Are you allowed to take one? Because he’ll consider it. I know him well. He’s sort of a stiff. Brian, you’re not a stiff. He’s sort of a stiff guy. He’ll take other things, but not a free hand. Always say yes to the president. Always say yes to the president. Would anybody like one?
SPEAKER 13 :
I need one of those. I need a Trump was right about everything hat because the man has been right about everything, including the difficult, definitely delicate situation in the Middle East. And we’re going to be joined live here. It’s a live show, you know, so we’re good to go here at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. It’s not a… that we’re going back to Israel in October as guests of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. And I will, on my dying day, remember getting to have lunch in Israel with Yael Eckstein. She is the president and CEO. of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. You see her on television all the time. You hear her voice frequently. She’s a passionate defender of those who are innocent and in need and suffering. And the IFCJ has done so much good. And Yael Eckstein, I heard you were going to be here. And we’ve got Internet things blowing up all over the place. I said, well, let’s get her over. And here you are.
SPEAKER 06 :
It’s like magic. How are you? Great to see you again. I’m so happy to be sitting next to you here in Texas.
SPEAKER 13 :
I’m in Texas. I mean, one day we have lunch in Jerusalem, and here we are in great, fine Texas.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s when in modern technology you say, praise God for those good things. I could meet Mike Gallagher all across the world.
SPEAKER 13 :
But when it doesn’t work, you hold your breath. Well, welcome to Texas.
SPEAKER 06 :
Thank you. I’m happy to be here.
SPEAKER 13 :
And you guys are playing a very, very key role with the National Religious Broadcasters Convention, aren’t you?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, this is everything the fellowship stands for. We stand for bridging Jews and Christians. We stand for connecting America and Israel. We need each other now more than ever. So when I come to Texas and I’m in a room with thousands, tens of thousands of Christians and Jews who are standing together in shared values, in prayer, in hope, in understanding, I say, how good and pleasant it is when brethren dwell together in peace. That’s the best verse I can think
SPEAKER 13 :
It’s fun to walk through the lobby and you see men with yarmulkes and you see guys and women with Bibles and King James Bibles.
SPEAKER 01 :
Right.
SPEAKER 13 :
And that’s really the spirit of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Can I ask you a personal question that I’ve never asked you in all the times that we’ve visited with each other? Do you ever get pushback for that partnership? Because for many people, certainly people who are very dogmatic in their beliefs, I think about our dear friend Dennis Prager. Yes. Dennis often is described as the best friend Christians ever had. And, of course, Dennis is a practicing Jew who is now recovering from a terrible, terrible accident. And we continue to pray for Dennis and his recovery. Do you get criticized for the International Fellowship? Did your dad? Do you hear some negativity?
SPEAKER 06 :
So when my dad started the fellowship 40 years ago, Rabbi Echiel Eckstein of Blessed Memory, he got a lot of pushback from Jews and Christians. Because I think whenever you’re trying to change the path of history, you’re going to get pushback because people have fears. Today, where the fellowship has come to… Maybe it’s just my eyes that are rose-colored that I see everything. But we have so much appreciation and support wherever we look, from the Israeli government to the American government to the Christian community to the Jewish community. This is what is needed now more than ever. Unity, brotherhood, to focus on what brings us together more than what separates us. And so what I see surrounding me is more support than I could have ever imagined. And I look up at the heavens and I say, thank you, God. Thank you for putting me here.
SPEAKER 13 :
And I need your positivity. Let me tell you why. Our hearts are collectively broken over the Bibas family. We are mourning this horrific, horrific catastrophe. And this is hard not to get into almost a rage over witnessing this. The celebration by the Palestinian people of those little babies in those black coffins. The cheering. I watched a video last night before I went to bed. Yarden Bibas at his family’s gravesite saying, I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you all. Shiri, guard me. so I don’t sink into darkness. That is so heartbreaking and so hard to imagine what this poor man is going through. He sacrificed himself so that his wife and children would live, and those barbarians, of course, butchered that family. They murdered them. They tortured them, likely, and it’s been reported that these babies were killed by the terrorists’ own hands. Yael, I don’t know how you even come to the table with people like this. I hear a lot of people say, you’ve got to turn Gaza into a parking lot. Now, I don’t know that’s pragmatic. I don’t know that’s practical. And my heart breaks for Palestinian children, too. I mean, this is a humanity issue. But how do you reconcile with people who are committed to the destruction of the Jewish people? How do you reconcile with people who celebrate… Little babies being brutally murdered. I’m at a loss for this, Yael. Can you give us some clarity on this and where we go from here?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, I think the same group that’s holding Israel hostage is holding those innocent Palestinian children hostage. It goes back to Hamas. And I look at the scriptures when I have no words and no thoughts, and I don’t know where to go from here. I look at the scriptures, and I love focusing on the positivity. I love focusing on the love your neighbor like yourself and all the other… commandments that God gives us to bring more life and love and hope into the world. But there’s a verse that has been coming front of mind to me lately, and it’s, Lovers of the Lord despise evil. And God tells us, I did create Amalek. There is Amalek in the world. I did create wicked Haman. There are Hamans in the world. And don’t turn the other cheek when it comes to someone that wants to kill you and your children. Don’t ignore it. Don’t ignore it.
SPEAKER 13 :
You can’t turn a blind eye to it.
SPEAKER 06 :
You can’t ignore it.
SPEAKER 13 :
I also think often of the scriptural verse, and I have this in my heart as we prepare to go back to Israel in October, thanks to your hospitality. Those who bless Israel, I will bless. Those who curse Israel, I will curse. That is scriptural, that’s biblical, and that’s what all of us remember. I had lunch yesterday with some listeners here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and we were talking about going to Israel, and all of them collectively said, I would give anything to go back to the Holy Land. So I’m excited because what the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews provides is life-saving materials to those who are suffering so much. And once again, our show and our listeners are incredibly generous.
SPEAKER 06 :
Wow. We have been able to save so many lives because of your listeners. We’ve placed bomb shelters. We’ve brought food packages. And actually, I’m here at the NRB with the baby Kfir Bibas, his little elephant, his pink elephant. In all the pictures, he’s holding his favorite elephant. And the fellowship has been there with the Bibas family and all the families of the hostages, supporting them from day one and telling them, Christians and Jews in America love you around the world, stand with you. And so before I left, they gave me his pink elephant. I have it here downstairs. Oh, my goodness. And they said, please bring this to Texas. I have it here. I could even bring it up.
SPEAKER 13 :
Oh, my goodness. You have it with you? Wow, look at this.
SPEAKER 06 :
This is baby Kfirs. Oh. This is what he was holding for the first nine months of his life until the Hamas terrorists kidnapped him. Wow. And his family said to me, bring it to America and make sure they never forget. Yeah. Make sure they never forget.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, we’re never going to forget. We’re going to keep the Bibas family in our hearts. We’re going to thank you for letting me hold this beautiful little pink elephant, that little baby boy who, you know, if you’re spiritual, if you’re a believer, you know that these children are with their mother in heaven. They suffered an unspeakable, terrible loss. and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is there to help that family and so many others. So be ready for when we go in October. I want you to help us support the IFCJ, and you have. You’ve helped build bomb shelters. We did the show last time I went, thanks to your hospitality. We were there. And we got to tour through the kibbutz that was the first place that was attacked. We saw the bomb shelters. And those bomb shelters are godsends because people can huddle when the rockets start flying and take refuge in these bomb shelters. I heard so many stories about people on the streets thanking us for the IFCJ because of what you guys provide.
SPEAKER 06 :
It doesn’t theoretically save lives. It saves lives practically every single day. I remember going and visiting a school where the fellowship, together with your supporters, helped place a bomb shelter outside the school right at the bus stop. And the day before, there was a rocket attack where they had to get off the school bus and go straight into the shelter. And the children told me… If we wouldn’t have had that shelter there, we wouldn’t have anywhere to go. And instead, they were in the shelter. And you know what they were doing as they were in the shelter and there were rockets exploding overhead? They were singing songs of praise.
SPEAKER 13 :
Wow. Well, look, you’re going to have an opportunity to help. And then I asked the IFCJ, since I’m going anyway in October, would you guys bless us by giving an okay to bringing along some listeners? And we’re going to have 100 slots, so probably 50 couples. It’s going to be a relatively small intimate group because over the years, Dennis Prager and I have taken trips to Israel with our listeners, 500, 600 people at a time. This is only 100, and that’s all we’ve got, 100 slots. And when they’re gone, they’re gone. So here’s what I want you to do. If you’re interested in coming with us to Israel in October… All you have to do is text the keyword Israel to our text line, which is 800-655-MIKE, and we’ll send you back a link where you can sign up and you’ll be notified when we put the finishing touches on this trip. It’s a little complicated. We’ve got some logistics to work out. I would say that. But it’s doable. And it’s safe. And it is safe.
SPEAKER 06 :
We are only taking you there if it’s safe.
SPEAKER 13 :
We won’t go if it’s not safe, but believe me, we would never put anybody in any kind of harm’s way. But if you’re interested, it’s a trip that will change your life because Yael Eckstein, president and CEO of the IFCJ, going to Israel absolutely changes one’s life.
SPEAKER 06 :
I always say, Mike, anyone who gets to step foot on that land is luckier than Moses. Moses got to see the land, and now your listeners have the opportunity to walk there.
SPEAKER 13 :
I love that. Can I quote you? Sure. I’m going to steal that from you. I’ll use that from now on. So text the keyword Israel to 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. And we’ll send you back the link. You sign up. There’s no obligation yet, but you’ll be notified once we put the finishing touches on it, which should be by Friday. I hope you know that seeing you, first of all, is a blessing, but then to get to hold baby Bebos’ little favorite toy. Changes my life. So thank you. We are so blessed to be with you today in Texas. Yeah. And the next time maybe I see you will be in the Holy Land.
SPEAKER 06 :
Next time in Jerusalem. Thank you for everything you do, Mike, and all of your listeners who are tapping into truth and passion and faith and a love for America, a love for Israel. You are a leader that so many people look up to and with good reason.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, I’m going to watch you and Glenn Beck, who’s a friend of mine and a colleague, and I love Glenn, and we have so many fellow broadcasters who partner with the IFCJ. I’ll be in the audience. I don’t want you to – don’t do a shout-out or anything. No, no, don’t forget it. I’ll just be the schlub in the back of the room, but I’ll be cheering you on because it’s going to be kind of a fireside chat they’re calling it, right? And Glenn is a great friend of Israel.
SPEAKER 06 :
He’s just an amazing person overall. He sure is. And a friend of Israel.
SPEAKER 13 :
We love Glenn and we love you. So I’ll see you at the fireside chat this afternoon.
SPEAKER 06 :
Looking forward.
SPEAKER 13 :
And I’ll see you again in Israel. And for more information, you can go to ifcj.org if you want to help. I know you have a lot of donors and a lot of supporters who regularly give. Yes. And we can use your support. So ifcj.org. Frankly, it’s one of my favorite organizations on the planet. Safe travels. Keep fighting the good fight, ILX team.
SPEAKER 06 :
God bless you, my friend. Thank you so much.
SPEAKER 13 :
We’ll see you soon, and we’ll see you at the Fireside Challenge. Got a studio audience. A nice applause. Nobody clapped for me. That was for you.
SPEAKER 05 :
No, no, no. That was for you.
SPEAKER 13 :
It was for Yael Eckstein. I mean, I walk in all the day and wait for somebody to clap. Nobody claps. I’m clapping for you. I’m clapping for you. Thank you, Yael. God bless you. SPEAKER 14 :
Mike Gallagher.
SPEAKER 13 :
I love these memes on social media that say how it starts or how it started and how it finished. Last night, I see Axios, which is an Inside the Beltway publication. I read it every day. Mike Allen. I mean, he’s a journalist. These are left-leaning folks. But as I looked in the evening, Axios, one big thing. GOP shaky on big vote. This is last night now, how it started. House Speaker Mike Johnson is once again grappling with right-wing defectors ahead of a key budget vote. Several GOP lawmakers said they remain opposed to the opposition. But that was yesterday. That’s how it started, right? Here’s how it finished. Axios was forced to report this morning. Mike Johnson escapes stalemate with stunning 13-minute reversal. With the help of President Trump, Speaker Johnson muscled a budget package through the House, a win he claimed will give him momentum to pass Trump’s full America First agenda, not just parts of it. This is so big. Johnson’s, here’s what Axios says, and I love that they’ve got to lick their wounds. They have to admit, well, yeah, we blew it. We were rooting against America. We were rooting against MAGA. We were rooting against Trump. We were rooting against Mike Johnson. And now they’ve got to go back and say, Mike Johnson produces stunning victory. Johnson’s dream of one big, beautiful bill will live another day. but so will the reality of his razor-thin House GOP majority. That’s all they can count on. All they can count on are defector Republicans who don’t want to… Play ball. They want to caucus with the Democrats. Listen to Jasmine Crockett. This woman is the gift that keeps on giving. Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett confidently predicted that the budget bill would fail thanks to squishy Republicans who are going to line up. With Democrats. Now, we have to bleep this because she’s such trash, she can’t talk to reporters without dropping the F-bomb left and right. This is a congresswoman, U.S. congresswoman from Dallas, Texas. So here she is yesterday confidently announcing that this budget bill will not pass, that MAGA is going down, that Trump’s going to lose. I give you the real Rhodes Scholar of the Congress. She’s right up there with Hank Johnson. And incidentally, that doozy. We got a new clip from Congressman Hank Johnson, the pride and joy of Georgia. Oh, boy. Here’s Jasmine Crockett yesterday.
SPEAKER 07 :
So long as we stand strong and not one Democrat falters, let me tell you, there are going to be Republicans that don’t want to vote for this and they can’t lose more than one vote. So, so long as we stand together and so long as we’re here and the Republicans, they’re dysfunctional. They can’t get this done by themselves.
SPEAKER 13 :
Oh, really? How dysfunctional are the Republicans? Sorry, lady, you lose. The Republicans were unified, except for Thomas Massey. Thomas Massey is the rogue. He goes rogue again. The guy from Kentucky. And I like the guy. I like… He stands on principle every time. I’m not going to condemn Thomas Massey, except for the fact that he doesn’t appreciate the value of Republicans being unified. Because we’ll win… the agenda policy, the policies, as long as we’re unified. But okay, Thomas Massey voted no. Everybody else voted yes. Rand Paul, all the other malcontents, they were right there. And we win. Hank Johnson. I’ve got to give you the latest Hank Johnson. Again, some of these folks in Congress are gifts that keep on giving. Hank Johnson, well, this is the clip from this week, Christian. And do you guys have it? We’ve got to go to the archives, too. Eric, pull the one out of the archives because I want to share with you how smart Hank Johnson is. Can you imagine sitting next to this guy? He’s dumber than a box of rocks.
SPEAKER 10 :
My fear is that I don’t.
SPEAKER 13 :
No, no, not that one.
SPEAKER 09 :
The one from this week. For President Trump. willfully failed or refused to comply with a court ruling, they could be held in contempt of court theoretically, but it would be up to the U.S. Marshals Service, which is a part of the Justice Department, to be the enforcement arm for the federal courts. Is that correct?
SPEAKER 13 :
So he wants the marshals to arrest Donald Trump. Now, this is how bad he is. This is the guy who once thought Guam could tip over because it was an island. Listen to this.
SPEAKER 10 :
My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.
SPEAKER 02 :
We don’t anticipate that.
SPEAKER 13 :
Now, that was the best thing. Part of that clip was the admiral in stunned silence and then saying, uh, we don’t anticipate that because islands don’t float, you big dummy.
SPEAKER 02 :

SPEAKER 15 :
He’s the happy conservative warrior. From the Relief Factor Studios, here’s Mike Gellerick.
SPEAKER 13 :
I don’t like criticizing a fellow Republican like Ron DeSantis. I swear I don’t. People were mad at me who were DeSantis fans because I was a Trump guy. Now Ron DeSantis has evidently miffed that Congressman Byron Donalds is running for governor of Florida because apparently, I think, Governor DeSantis wants his wife… So it’s going to lead to a little bit of a showdown. Last night on Fox News Channel, Congressman Byron Donalds announced officially he’s running for governor of Florida.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, look, Sean, after a lot of prayer, a lot of thoughts with my family and my friends, I’m here to announce my candidacy to be the next governor of the great state of Florida. And, Sean, we have a wonderful state. I got to Florida when I was 17 years old off of a Greyhound bus with just a trunk full of clothes. And over the rest of my time in Florida, I built a family, I built a career, 17 years in financial services. I joined the Tea Party movement, was in the conservative movement. I was able to serve four years in the state legislature, four years in Congress. And I think now is the time to now take the mantle and lead our state into the future. We have a great governor. Granda Sanchez has done a tremendous job for our state. But now the job is to keep the best state in the country as the best state in the country. And so that’s going to be the mission at hand. And I’m excited to announce my candidacy with you tonight.
SPEAKER 13 :
You go, it’s official. Now, again, this gets tricky because Ron DeSantis, I think, wants his wife to run, which is going to cause some Republican, as the New Yorkers put it, agita. Let’s welcome a guy who never suffers from any agita. He’s calm, cool, and collected. He’s our veteran newsman, Roger P. Shulman, our newsman in the Mike Gallagher Show newsroom who joins us. Roger, come in.
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, it’s going to be interesting. The governor does want his wife to run. He says the polls show she would have a much better chance of winning. However, the president says his polls show Donald’s would be a good choice and would have a better chance of winning.
SPEAKER 13 :
And to be clear, Trump is endorsing Byron Donald’s, right?
SPEAKER 01 :
Very enthusiastically. He said on social media, run, run, Brian, run. He is totally behind him. And this man is a great fellow. I mean, he grew up with a single mom in Brooklyn, New York. He came here, as you just heard, to Florida on a Greyhound bus, graduated from Florida State University, BA in finance and marketing, worked in marketing, banking, all kinds of things. He’s been a congressman for four years. Before that, a state representative. Totally on Trump’s bandwagon. Everything Trump supports, he supports himself. And we know exactly where he’s coming from. He’s got a wife, three kids, has his activism in his church, works with kids with basketball and football, all-around good guy, no scandals. And Governor DeSantis is not for this. Governor DeSantis is very critical of people in Congress, which Donald is in, and he definitely wants his wife to run, although she hasn’t officially announced anything. Donald’s has officially announced as of last night on Fox News, so it’s going to be interesting to see what happens here in the state of Florida in our Republican politics.
SPEAKER 13 :
Okay, you said something a moment ago, and I don’t want to fact-check you, but are you telling me that Governor DeSantis believes that his wife Casey would have a better chance of being elected governor of the state of Florida than Congressman Byron Donalds? Did he actually say that?
SPEAKER 01 :
He did. He said it at a news conference, I believe it was in Tampa, that she would have a better chance of winning. He thinks she has more name recognition, which may be true at this point, but not for long with the enthusiastic endorsement of the president. Mr. Donalds has a very enthusiastic endorsement, totally unqualified. I mean, not unqualified, totally uninhibited endorsement. Support by the president. The president’s going to campaign. Yeah, unrestrained. And it looks like it’s going to be quite a battle because Casey DeSantis is well known, but she hasn’t done much speaking. publicly, a few events, but not that many.
SPEAKER 13 :
But, Roger, forgive me. I don’t mean to – you know I love you. She’s well-known? How well-known is Casey DeSantis? I mean, I know she’s the first lady of Florida, and she does appearances with her husband, but like you said, she’s not front and center, right? Or has she been? Am I missing something? Look, you’ve got to bear with me here. I’m struggling with this because I’ll be just – I’m going to put it out on the table, and I want to put you on the spot. You’re a newsman. You’re a veteran. You’re a professional. Her running for president is the kookiest thing I think I’ve ever – I mean for governor – is the nuttiest thing I’ve ever heard. I get that Governor DeSantis loves his wife. I get that his wife loves her husband. That is the nuttiest problem. When you’ve got a guy the quality of Byron Donalds, he’s as good as it gets. You’re right. He’s got a solid track record. Americans love Byron Donalds. I mean, this guy is the real deal. I can’t even believe anybody would consider it a competition between Byron Donalds and Casey DeSantis.
SPEAKER 01 :
I disagree with you somewhat. Casey DeSantis is not totally unknown and… She has the backing of a very popular governor. Governor DeSantis does have a lot of clout in this state. Sure. But so does the president. Yeah, I know. I flip a coin and see what happens. Well, I’ll tell you what’s going to happen.
SPEAKER 13 :
I’ll tell you what’s going to happen. It’s going to be a mess. You’ve got a mess on your hands. Florida’s going to get real messy, isn’t it? Because what you’re setting up for here, what we have to be ready for, I guess, is a battle between…
SPEAKER 01 :
ronda santos and donald trump right over over the next governor that’s exactly what it is and then we’ve got don’t forget the uh democrats are running people too they’ve got a a bunch of folks who are making noises about running so it’s not a one-sided thing we could have some uh democrat come up and become popular although i find that doubtful because of uh DeSantis, excellent record in handling things, and the Republican side seems to be very strong in this state at the moment, particularly with the winning of the president.
SPEAKER 13 :
All right. Roger P. Shulman in the Mike Gallagher Show newsroom. Thank you, sir. We’re in Grapevine, Texas, here at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention, and I’ve got to turn this over to you, especially to Floridians. If you know Florida politics, if you know Byron Donalds, if you know Donald Trump, if you know Ron DeSantis, if you know of Casey DeSantis – I’m seeing this story unfold thinking this is one of the nuttiest things I’ve ever seen. This is one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen. Casey DeSantis running for governor and Byron Donalds throws his hat in the ring and Ron DeSantis thinks his wife has a better chance of winning than Congressman Byron Donalds. Am I missing something here? Because I feel like I’m flat out in an episode of The Twilight Zone. So let me turn to my Florida audience or look anywhere in the country. Weigh in on this. If it’s between Casey DeSantis or Byron Donalds to be governor of one of our most important states, I don’t even think it’s a close call. This is kind of a joke, isn’t it? Casey DeSantis for governor? Really? Are we done with family members passing the torch, Bush Sr. to Bush Jr.? ? Bill to Hillary. I know there’s rumors about Don Jr., but I don’t know if that’s even a reality, if Don Jr. is going to pick up the mantle from his dad. But let’s dive into this. Help me sort this out. We’ll throw our phone lines open. Here on the Mike Gallagher Show for a Wednesday at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Grapevine, Texas. Our number is 800-655-MIKE. Join us. Call or text 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. Nice to know somebody loves me.
SPEAKER 15 :
Mike Gallagher. Every day, Mike visits with Mark Davis, morning host on 660 AM, The Answer in Dallas. Here’s today’s Eminem experience.
SPEAKER 13 :
Look, I admit, when I put promotions together, they don’t always turn out so well. So memo to self, I want Mark Davis to be the new head of all my promotional activities.
SPEAKER 12 :
You know who the magic is? This is through that piece of glass right there. Rhonda coordinated all this. Absolutely. Looked for people. Hey, on the text line, got $1,000. Come do lunch with Mark and Mike. And we had takers within 10 minutes.
SPEAKER 13 :
In 10 minutes, it sold out. Now, here’s the thing about this group of people. I almost got emotional at the end of the lunch when you and I were taking pictures with them, and I said, Mark, isn’t this an incredibly special group of people? And you said to me, of course it is. It’s our audience. You’re so right. I think of all the years that I do the Alaska cruises and the Israel trips and the Mark and Mike events in Grapevine and the things that we get to do when we get to press the flesh with These wonderful, patriotic, God-fearing, freedom-loving people are our audience. That’s who we are. And you said that, and it hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday. I was thinking about this. Our audience is so unique and so special and so different from any other audience out there. Not to knock people who listen to country music. Not to knock people who like rock and roll. Not to like people who like classical or jazz. like to listen to the history of the tsetse fly over on npr i mean people who are news talk aficionados who are plugged in who are aware who are largely right of center they love border security and law rule of law and and they are largely trump folks and conservatives and rock ribbed americans mark it was one of the most delightful experiences i’ve had in years so thank Thank you, Rhonda, and thank you, Mark, and thank you to these lovely people, including the lady who drove all the way from Waco.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yes, Kim interrupted her career in event planning to come up and spend time with us. But I have a story elsewhere on the table. First of all, George, our transplanted New Yorker. Love George. I sat next to George. It’s funny. I decided I’d get there in about a quarter till. And everybody was there before noon. These folks are like mega punctual. So I was glad I was there. And you were moments behind that.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, I was only moments behind that because it only takes three hours to get off the Gaylord property. The Uber only takes two hours and 37 minutes to drive from the door to the. OK, so that’s why I was a little late. We’ve established exactly right.
SPEAKER 12 :
So George said, hey, here’s what I’m going to do. When Mike gets here, I’m going to tell him that I figured out by calling up restaurants and seeing who has a round table, I figured out who it was, and I crashed the party. I said, go ahead and do it, do it, do it. They were humorous. They were funny.
SPEAKER 01 :
They were glorious.
SPEAKER 12 :
So here’s the thing before we get to stuff going on in the news. So there we are. We meet everybody. It’s fantastic. It’s great. And that was a moment when I looked at them and we said, isn’t this great? But generally speaking, any eight people that we could have picked would have been emblematic of the kind of wonderful folks that listen to us. And we’re just so grateful. And we’re always thinking of you. We always, I mean, we’re in rooms with screens and our coworkers, but we’re always thinking of all of you. And that gave us a moment for that. But here’s the thing. You ready? Yeah. What would you say would be the likelihood? of me running into anybody who was at that lunch somewhere else seven hours later. Seven? Well, either they’re stalking you or you’re stalking them. Nope. We live close together. What? Yep. Kent and Melinda live pretty close to us, and we actually talked about a restaurant. We were still talking about area restaurants. Right, right. And so Lisa and I were on the patio at one of those area restaurants, and Lisa said, Is that the couple that… And I said, how would you know? How would you recognize them visually? Exactly. Well, we had talked about it. She saw Melinda. Melinda saw her, saw like the back of my head. Before you know it, they pop out on the patio, and it was Kent and Melinda. And I said, are you guys… And the reason we were there is because we had kind of put it in my head. I was kind of in the mood. I was Mexican, so I’m always in the mood. And I said to Kent, are you guys here because we talked about it? He said, no, we’re just here all the time. And it was shocking that we had never run into them, and the odds are that we would. And so we did. But their daughter and her two kids, after we ate, we were about 30 minutes ahead of them, we just sat around and shot the bull with them. Nice. Just incredible. It’s crazy.
SPEAKER 13 :
What a blessing to meet these people. It sure was. Isn’t it funny how you can run into people? Years and years ago, there was a guy named Frank Raphael. You may remember him from ABC. He was an executive with ABC.
SPEAKER 12 :
He gave me my first little national weekend show on ABC circa 1996.
SPEAKER 13 :
So Frank had a summer home in Saratoga Springs, New York. When I worked in Albany at WGY, he heard me. And when he knew there was an opening at what was then the biggest talk station in America, WABC, he recommended me to Phil Boyce and Mitch Dolan and the crew there. So I often think about Frank because if it were not for his recommendation, I may not have had the path that I’ve had. Well, let me tell you something. I ran into Frank over the next 10 years probably a dozen times on the streets of New York. Think about that. It was creepy. In Manhattan. I would run into him on 6th Avenue, 7th Avenue, 8th Avenue. And there was Frank, and it was like, well, hey, Frank. And finally, at one point, I said, am I stalking you or are you stalking me? So it’s kind of weird how that kind of stuff happens. All right, well, anyhow, thanks again. Great day. Here we go, day two of the NRB here at the beautiful Gaylord. I follow an account on X called Whale Psychiatrist.
SPEAKER 12 :
I did not have that on my bingo card when I woke up this morning.
SPEAKER 13 :
Everybody should follow Whale Psychiatrist because Whale Psychiatrist, whoever it is, puts a daily compilation of what the Trump administration has accomplished today. Okay? And every night when I settle in, I tend to look at Whale Psychiatrist. The list from just yesterday. From just yesterday. Okay? The White House is now determining who will be part of the White House press corps rather than the White House Press, the White House Correspondents Association. The meltdown from the fake news media is glorious. State Department tightens visa restrictions on Cuba. Doug Collins finds two billion dollars of waste from the V.A., Trump DOJ arrests and charges multiple members of an extensive illegal alien smuggling operation. The Washington Times reports that Kash Patel is investigating Comey’s FBI’s infiltration of Trump’s campaign in 2016. There’s a deal with Zelensky on mineral rights, but Trump says they’re still negotiating. Trump revokes security clearances for employees at law firms who work with that vicious Jack Smith. Trump signs an executive order to restore transparency pricing on health care. He signs an executive order to protect the U.S. copper industry. Speaker Johnson wrangles the cats and gets the House version of the budget passed after they said he wasn’t going to get the House version of the budget passed. That was just yesterday.
SPEAKER 12 :
And I’m sure I’m leaving ten things out. Precisely right. I’ve just discovered Whale Psychiatrist, who also lends some pithy commentary. The New York Times has a Michelle Goldberg piece. The headline is, Trump’s new deputy FBI director has it out for the, quote, scumbag commie libs. Of course, a Dan Bongino quote. Right. And somebody posted that and said, you voted for this. And there’s Whale Psychiatrist in all caps. Yes, I did.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yes, I did. It’s a great account to follow, if not for just the daily compilation of all the things that are happening every day. I’ve got to ask you a question. I know you and I are somewhat reluctant to pull the curtain back and talk about other media folks. Look, we’ve got our own skillets to fry over here, but I have to talk about Rachel Maddow and MSNBC. Now, they fired Joy Reid and a whole bunch of others, and there’s a big shakeup there. Rachel Maddow spent about 10 minutes ripping her employer for being racist. Call her racist, yeah. Now, I have to ask you a question. She’s making $20 million a year to do a Monday night show. She only does one night a week.
SPEAKER 12 :
She’s going back to one night a week. Does the show still bear her name? Is it like Rachel fill-in people for TV? I don’t know how that, I don’t watch them. I don’t spend. a lot of time watching MSNBC.
SPEAKER 13 :
I’d rather listen to the history of the tsetse fly than watch MSNBC. But seriously, how does Comcast, NBC, the parent company, allow her to get away with that? If you and I decided to go on a rant for 10 minutes and rip Salem, and have some ax to grind and we would tear into our bosses as being a bunch of filthy racists who hate black women, who are, it’s wrong to fire Saint Joy. I mean, like she’s some kind of pillar of virtue. How do people like Rachel Maddow get away with what they get away with?
SPEAKER 12 :
There’s only one, it involves mind reading, which I know nobody can do, but you sort of project and think what the motivation might be. And that is it might actually, in a way, since MSNBC decided to can Joy Reid, that in a weird reverse psychology way, it helps their brand to allow the white woman to go on a race-tinged rant about Joy’s dismissal, thus earning for the network some sort of sideways brownie points. So there you go. That’s my clumsy attempt.
SPEAKER 13 :
That’s not clumsy. Because honestly, I’ve been pulling my hair out. I’d fire her yesterday. I’d call her in and say, okay, Rachel, you know what? Or by the way, Rachel, if you’re so livid about it, quit in solidarity. Why don’t you walk off? You don’t want to forfeit your $20 million.
SPEAKER 12 :
Don’t take our dirty money.
SPEAKER 13 :
Yeah, we don’t want to burden you, Rachel, with the $20 million we’re paying you for one night a week. Hey, maybe I’m just jealous of her. I’ve got to hand it to her. She’s figured something out. And I am so relieved today, Mark. I learned that scientists have finally given the all clear to Earth from that newly discovered asteroid. Asteroid 2024 YR4. It was as high as a 3% chance of striking some part of the Earth in what year?
SPEAKER 12 :
I don’t know.
SPEAKER 13 :
What, 2032?
SPEAKER 12 :
Or 2032.
SPEAKER 13 :
But let me tell you something. This is my unnatural, irrational fear. Do you have an irrational fear of anything? Is there something in your life like snakes?
SPEAKER 12 :
A phobia? Listen, snakes aren’t a phobia. A snake can kill you. A phobia is an irrational fear. I don’t know. I’ll work on it and get back to you. What is your irrational fear?
SPEAKER 13 :
Asteroid. An asteroid hit. I can visualize turning on the news or coming into work and hearing that an asteroid is headed for Florida. It’s several movies.
SPEAKER 12 :
It’s headed for St. Petersburg.
SPEAKER 13 :
Right on the bay. It’s going to hit Tampa Bay and it’s going to obliterate. But I can see it. I can feel it.
SPEAKER 12 :
I’ve got this.
SPEAKER 13 :
We’ve read stories.
SPEAKER 12 :
It keeps me up at night. I mean, I think about it all the time. One of two things is true. Because when I was sitting there thinking of the 3% chance of the asteroid hitting the Earth… Yeah. That means there’s a 97% chance that it doesn’t. So it’s like you just shouldn’t worry, right? It’s three out of 100. It’s infinitesimal. But I’m going to hand you a bowl of M&Ms, 100 M&Ms. Three of them are poison, will kill you if you eat them. You going to eat out of the bowl of M&Ms? Never in a million years. No, because my stupid luck, I’d get the poison M&M. That’s right. So that three out of 100 is either a ridiculously infinitesimal, doesn’t matter, or it’s something to really keep you up at night. Right.
SPEAKER 13 :
And what keeps me up at night, I travel a lot. I can hop on an airplane. If an asteroid’s going to wipe out half the planet, where are you going to go? Australia? Go to the other side? We’ll all live on Mars. But according to Aaron in Southlake, incidentally, on the final text for the day, Trump saved us from the asteroid. It was Trump.
SPEAKER 12 :
Trump did it. It was a big, beautiful asteroid. It’s going to go hit some other planet. Are you tired of winning yet? I am not. I never get tired of winning. Me either. I never get tired of you either, buddy. So great to see you. Thanks again for yesterday. It was wonderful. You betcha. Mike, ready to go from the Gaylord today for a Wednesday right as soon as we’re done. 10 a.m. right here on 660 AM. The answer. Mark Davis right back.
