Welcome to the America’s Veterans Stories podcast. Kim Monson is your host. WWII and Korean War Veteran Kim Kimball joined the Navy on his seventeenth birthday in 1944. Growing up in Oklahoma, Kimball had not traveled very far from his native state. He took a three day train ride to San Diego to Boot Camp and remembers seeing the Pacific Ocean for the first time. Kimball eventually became a radio operator on the aircraft carrier USS Hornet. Kim Kimball recently passed on.
