In this episode, Mike Deller explores the unexpected drama during the Allstate Sugar Bowl following the tragedy on Bourbon Street. Delving into the CEO’s misguided public statement, he raises the question of whether seemingly powerful figures are truly as insightful as we assume. As the nation grapples with this jarring incident, Mike shifts focus to another pressing subject: the growing discord within the Republican Party as they approach Trump’s inauguration. Join the discussion as he examines the challenges of maintaining unity in a party known for its stark divisions.
He’s the happy conservative warrior. From the Relief Factor Studios, here’s Mike Deller.
SPEAKER 11 :
I never, ever lose sight of the fact that I’m so lucky to get to do this for a living. There’s a lot of neat things about my job. And when you become a talk show host with a national presence, you learn some things. And one of the things I’ve learned over the years is that people you would expect to would be smart aren’t all that smart. In other words, people that are in big positions of prominence and responsibility are often, pardon me, jackasses. They’re just dummies. You wouldn’t really even want to work with them. Allstate is a huge insurance company. Big, big, big conglomerate. They sponsored The Sugar Bowl, which was delayed nearly 24 hours because of the terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Now, I’d like to believe that the CEO of Allstate, a guy by the name of Tom Wilson, is a smart guy. You’d think that, right? And yet, they aired a commercial saying, that was so pathetic and so out of touch and tone deaf that my theory is correct that a lot of people you would think should be smart aren’t smart at all. Welcome in. We’ve got a lot to cover today. We’ve got a day of reckoning for Mike Johnson. I want to cover that. I’m real worried about it. Look, Thomas Massey is going on TV saying he doesn’t care if they cut all his fingers off one by one. He’s never going to vote for Mike Johnson. He gets a couple more. We have another Kevin McCarthy coup. We have another revolt. if there’s not a speaker by Inauguration Day, Trump can’t get certified as President of the United States, which would be just a delicious dish to serve to the Democrats. And that’s about the last thing we want. Look, I’m not going to shut down the pushback against Mike Johnson. I understand it. I really do. These sharp-elbowed conservatives in the House need to be listened to. I don’t want to ignore them. However, can we be unified for a couple of weeks? Can we get through Trump’s inauguration, please? So we’ll get to that in a little bit. Feel free to join me if you want to weigh in on that. Maybe you’ve got some strong opinions and you think, you know, Mike Johnson ought to be ousted after they ousted Kevin McCarthy. Because Republicans are nothing if not dysfunctional. How about being unified the way the Democrats typically are? And let’s get some stuff done. Together. Just a thought. But before we get to that, let’s go back to the Sugar Bowl. Here’s the CEO. of Allstate, Tom Wilson. You got a guy in New Orleans who mowed down and killed, I guess the number now is back to 14. I thought it was 15, now it’s down to 14. But a number of people were killed by this terrorist, no other way to describe him, on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. So they delayed the game. They played it yesterday at 4 p.m. Eastern. Here’s the spot that ran the from the Allstate Sugar Bowl CEO, Tom Wilson.
SPEAKER 01 :
Welcome to the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Wednesday, tragedy struck the New Orleans community. Our prayers are with the victims and their families. We also need to be stronger together by overcoming an addiction to divisiveness and negativity. Join Allstate working in local communities all across America to amplify the positive, increase trust, and accept people’s imperfections and differences. Together, we win.
SPEAKER 11 :
breath away. That’s what he thought would be a good message. Imagine a bunch of executives at Allstate. They’ve got, I’m sure, an ad agency. They’ve got teams of people. Hey, Tom, why don’t you get on TV and say, we have to be stronger by overcoming an addiction to divisiveness and negativity. As if to say… Let’s not be too rough on the guy that mowed everybody down and got killed by the cops. Let’s not be addicted to the negativity of, oh, I don’t know, a guy slaughtering a bunch of people on Bourbon Street. We’ve got to look at both sides of this. Because some of us normal people, who I think are fairly smart, would say there’s a lot of negativity over a terrorist destroying lives. by going 100 miles an hour down Bourbon Street. Oh, yeah, there’s a lot of negativity there, Tom. Oh, yeah, there’s some divisiveness going on here. That guy wants to destroy, wanted to kill as many people as he could. I’d say he’s pretty divisive. And this dummy thought it was a good idea to go on TV and do a whataboutism regarding the terrorist attack in New Orleans. Unbelievable. I mean, again, it’s incomprehensible. And I guess it confirms what my friend Mark Davis told me was the reason that FBI nose ring lady came out and said this isn’t a terrorist attack, because I didn’t understand it. And Mark said people like her, and I guess people like Allstate CEO Tom Wilson, are worried, are afraid of offending our enemies. They don’t want to make people too angry at the guy who killed all the people on Bourbon Street. And we don’t want to call a terrorist a terrorist because it might result in Islamophobia. And that’s divisive. And that’s negativity. And we can’t afford that. So that’s what the all-state CEO thought was going to be a good idea. Look, I’m not an all-state policyholder. I wouldn’t be if I were. And I’ll bet you they’ll lose a lot of business over it. Let’s get your take on it. It’s Friday, January the 3rd. I think it’s still okay to say Happy New Year. We’re in the Relief Factor studios. This is what DEI does to people. This is the brainwashing of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This is why ABC anchors stopped wearing American flag pins on their lapels after 9-11. They don’t want to offend the bad guys. They don’t want to upset the enemies of the United States of America. And it’s beyond disgusting. Let’s see if you agree or not. Let’s find out. Let’s put your voice front and center here in the Relief Factor Studios. 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. Call or text. However you get here, get here because we’re waiting for you.

SPEAKER 11 :
I’m a simple guy. I just want unity for a few more weeks until we can get President Trump inaugurated and back in the Oval Office. Never underestimate unity. the Republicans’ ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. We had a triumphant victory just a couple of short months ago. November 5th was a game changer in a big way. And now a few Republicans threaten to upend the actual certification of Donald Trump. Bottom line is Donald Trump wants Mike Johnson in place as Speaker of the House. And from where I sit, that should be good enough for us. Trump’s the guy who won. Trump’s the guy who defied all the odds. He got shot. He got arrested. He got convicted. They raided his home. And what did he do? Hopped up on a garbage truck. He served fries for McDonald’s. And against all odds, managed to defeat the machine, the beast. Because the beast was all in for Kamala Harris. Think about what this country would be like right now. What you and I would be feeling. if after these terror attacks and open borders and people getting burned alive on subways, if we were about to inaugurate Kamala Harris. Let that sink in. And while he had a convincing, epic victory, they put all they could into her. And we have perhaps the opportunity to be unified in victory. Instead, we got some… Sharp-elbowed, red-meat conservatives like Thomas Massey, the congressman from Kentucky, saying, I don’t care what you do to me, I’m never voting today for Mike Johnson. Here he was last night with Matt Gaetz on Matt’s new show on One America News.
SPEAKER 02 :
If Chip Roy were asked to serve as chairman of the Rules Committee, would that be enough to get your vote for Mike Johnson?
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, no. You can pull all my fingernails out. You can shove bamboo up in them. You can start cutting off my fingers. I am not voting for Mike Johnson tomorrow. And you can take that to the bank.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, I hope he’s the only one. I really do. Mike Johnson thinks he might be the only one. Here’s what Speaker Johnson said last night on Fox Business Network.
SPEAKER 08 :
We’ll have maybe one no vote, I think. I think we get it done on the first round. I’m certainly hopeful for that because, as we noted, we’ve got to stick together. We’ll be operating with the smallest margin in U.S. history for much of the first hundred days of the Congress and perhaps longer into the year. So it necessitates that every single Republican, as diverse as our caucus is, can put aside their personal preferences every day and work together for the team. And I think everybody understands clearly the mandate that we have, the importance of the moment, And I think they’re going to come and get along.
SPEAKER 11 :
You know, I’m a big believer in making sure we let every voice be heard. I like a lot of things that Rand Paul represents. I appreciate Massey’s renegade spirit. I love the warrior instincts of Marjorie Taylor Greene. I love the leadership of Jim Jordan. I mean, I like these guys. But we have an opportunity here to blow this. and hand the speakership over to Hakeem Jeffries. You understand, procedurally, that’s what could happen. We might just hand the speakership over to Hakeem Jeffries because we can’t get our act together, and the Democrats are, you know, circling the wagons. Now, Democrats, according to Axios today, are pushing back against a proposed change to House rules that would allow only Republicans to force a vote on removing the Speaker. Because the Democrats, they want to do Mike Johnson in every bit as much as Thomas Massey does. The Democrats want this turmoil. And again, for the record, Donald Trump wants Mike Johnson to stay put. Give me your take on all of it. 800-655-MIKE. Welcome aboard. It’s Friday, January 3rd. I think we can have one more day worth of Happy New Year’s to each other, right? got into a big kerfluffle with my pal Mark Davis, because he goes around apparently posting Xmas on social media, and somebody called him out for it, and Mark said, well, now technically that’s correct. That’s not really, that’s not sacrilegious. I was like stunned. I think we ought to keep Christ in Christmas every chance we get. We should never miss an opportunity to say Christmas, not Xmas. But evidently, there’s some historical significance to Xmas. From the Roman gladiators, I have no idea. Beats the heck out of me. For me, Xmas is rather offensive. But apparently not to my pal, Mark. But in the meantime, Mark and I are in agreement that we ought to have at least three more weeks of unity. Can we just have a few more weeks of unity? Can we act like we won on November the 5th? And can we do what the Democrats would surely do, and that is be unified? I mean, you’ve got to have Mike Johnson in place to certify Trump’s presidency. You want to take up a battle over Mike Johnson after Trump is inaugurated? Okay, let’s have that conversation. Just not now. Not in the days leading up to the inauguration. I get that a lot of you like chaos. I kind of do, too. The status quo needs to be interrupted. I get it. But how about we be unified just a few short weeks away? 800-655-MIKE. Call or text. Join us here on a Friday, January 3rd episode of The Mike Gallagher Show.

SPEAKER 11 :
Text message from Nebraska. Mike, the voters from Kentucky need to straighten out that sharp elbowed, quote, you can cut off my fingers, congressman. Chuck in Michigan. I authorize Trump to use a cattle prod to get Thomas. It’s not just Thomas Massey. Chip Roy. Victoria Sparce. From Indiana, I love her. Andy Harris, MD. Andy Biggs. I like Congressman Biggs from Arizona. He hosted me once at the border on one of the many border visits we made. You still got some that are on the fence. Ralph Norman, South Carolina. Eli Crane. Hey, guys, how about we play nice for three more weeks? Can you just give us three weeks? That’s it. Let’s get Trump inaugurated, okay? We don’t need this kind of nightmare on our hands. And it would be a nightmare. You know, I’ve got a theory about people who think it’s a good idea for Thomas Massey and maybe Chip Roy and others to hold out. And we can only afford to lose two. You like the chaos. And there’s nothing wrong with a little chaos. It’s been business as usual for too long. Well, you delivered the chaos candidate, Donald Trump. He’s going to knock heads. He’s going to be large and in charge. And he wants, incidentally, Mike Johnson, which, again, I don’t know about you, good enough for me. Here’s Chicago. Kevin, Happy New Year, Mike. Welcome back. Thomas Massey is 2025’s Liz Cheney. This is the worst time ever. for him to pull something like this. There should not be any division in the Republican Party right now. Massey needs to set his priorities and settle his differences with Mike Johnson and the Republican Party after the certification of our next president of the United States. Kevin, you’re spot on. You want to challenge Mike Johnson because he’s cozying up to the Democrats and authorizing too much spending and you don’t like his agenda? Now’s not the time. Now’s not the time. Jay’s in Colorado. Hey, Jay, Happy New Year. How are you?
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m good. Hey, Mike, I think maybe some of these might be holdover never Trumpers who don’t want them in.
SPEAKER 11 :
I don’t know. I had a guy who called me and challenged me on it, and then in the middle of the conversation he said, you guys electing your dear leader. And I thought, well, that’s a sign. I think that maybe he’s a never-Trumper. Maybe these are people that just don’t like Trump, and they don’t want Trump to be successful. And a lot of these folks are clever. Many of these folks, you’re right, they kind of appear to be something they’re not. Nate’s in Chicago. Nate, welcome aboard.
SPEAKER 04 :
Hey, my point is this. Every time we try to do anything, the Democrats fall in line and vote 100 percent against us. We have to figure out a way that we’ve got to make a plan to figure out what to do when they do that. And I got an idea. OK, sure. Give these guys give these guys, you know, 13. 13 congressmen that agree that they’ll revisit this whole thing in 90 days. And then if Chip Roy or whoever it is feel uncomfortable, then they can revote. But it’s going to take nine, not two this time.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, I mean, I just keep thinking of the Ronald Reagan line about letting, what is it, Eric, I always get the phrase messed up. Don’t let. Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. We’re not going to get everything we want. A lot of people don’t want any compromise. A lot of people despise compromise. They absolutely do. They don’t want to play ball. They view the other side as the mortal enemy of the Republican Party. And they absolutely will not play ball with them. And look, I also understand that because they don’t like to play ball with us either. But it feels like there’s a new era. Have you noticed how different things feel this time with Trump about to take office? You know, all these big inauguration donations that he’s getting from unlikely places like Facebook and Meta, CEOs of companies. I’ve even seen a number of Democrats who have been vicious to Trump over the years. act like they’re going to give him a chance. It’s different this time. We don’t need to present this kind of chaos on the eve of the inauguration. Susan, Sacramento, California. Hi, Sue. Welcome back. Happy New Year.
SPEAKER 09 :
Happy New Year, Mike. I just called Thomas Massey’s office and the young man picked up and I told him, I want you to take this message. We need to unite together. Otherwise, a house which is on desert, it is not going to win. Therefore, please, please, I plea prayerfully. for him to vote, and I pray God to sway his vote.
SPEAKER 11 :
Amen. Look, I agree. I hope maybe Thomas Massey… Look, Thomas Massey is often the lone no vote on everything. He’s a renegade. He’s a rebel. It’s who he is. And there’s a… And incidentally, There should be a place for him. He should not be ignored or shot down all the time or avoided. Listen to his arguments. It’s like Rand Paul. Rand Paul has a strong libertarian streak, probably more so than I do or many of you. But you know what? Some of these folks that are playing games, they’re doing it at the expense of the Trump mandate. Trump has a mandate. There’s no question about it. Now, I’m really intrigued by how Brian Glenn will receive all of this. And I’ve gotten to know Brian over the years. Really good guy. He has spent several years in the Dallas area working with us at Salem. He covered the 2020 campaign, 2024. He’s got a great relationship with Marjorie Taylor Greene. And Brian’s a smart guy. He’s now with Real America’s Voice. He covers the White House and Capitol Hill. And he actually asked me to be on his show. He was filling in for somebody yesterday afternoon, and he said, could you come on my show? And I said, I would, but I’ve got a dentist appointment. However, why don’t you come on my show? And let’s chat. I saw him at the RNC, and we’ve hung out a little bit together, and I want to get him on the show. And Brian is real plugged in to that warrior world. And I love what I call the warrior world, the warrior spirit, the fighters like Marjorie Taylor Greene, like Jim Jordan. like Massey, like Randall. That’s okay. So we’ll see what Brian has to, what his take on it all is, and we’ll see what he thinks about some of the disastrous responses we’ve seen to the terrorist attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas. Welcome in. Great to have you here on a Friday. Nice short week for us here. Back to real normal on Monday, but in the meantime, join us. 800-655-MIKE. The Mike Gallagher Show.
SPEAKER 06 :
So you can start to feel the green shoots of optimism. And so when I look ahead to what he’s going to do at the inaugural and what he could do in the first hundred days of his administration, I hope he senses that from the American people, hits the ground running, and strikes the optimistic notes because I think people are tired of having weak leadership that has taken us off in the wrong direction. He has a real opportunity here to do something amazing, and I hope he does it.
SPEAKER 10 :
In the ReliefFactor.com studios, here’s Mike.
SPEAKER 11 :
A lot of great TV voices in unlikely places like CNN. That’s Scott Jennings, of course. Another terrific voice over at Real America’s Voice is Brian Glenn, Washington, D.C. correspondent, who joins us after I rudely had to go to the dentist rather than be a guest with him yesterday afternoon. I hope you forgive me, Brian.
SPEAKER 12 :
I do, and that is probably the single worst place I’d ever want to visit as well, so I know you’re a good man for going.
SPEAKER 11 :
It was rough. I mean, it was a cleaning, and I’m surprised I’m not in an intensive care unit right now. I mean, I would do anything, but the dentist, ugh, one of my least favorite places to go. So I would have much rather been with you on Real America’s Voice. Hey, Brian, let’s dive in. I mean, I’m looking at the headline here over it. For what it’s worth, Newsweek, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson faces an uphill battle as Republican divisions threaten to derail his bid for the speakership. Look, for me, it’s pretty black and white for me. Let’s get through the inauguration. Let’s get the president in office. And then we can have a battle like this. Now’s not the time. But what’s the Brian Glenn takeaway on this turmoil on Capitol Hill?
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, you and I went to the same school of thought here on this. I don’t want any drama as we go into this inauguration. I’m just checking for my sources, and I’ve been trying to stay on top of what is the tone there on Capitol Hill as we sit right now. Massey, as we know, he’s a hard no. He’s a hard no on this. He’s definitely not going to sway. But here are some other people that we can keep an eye on because they do vote, Mike, as you know, alphabetically. So here’s some other potential no’s on this, even though I think most of these guys are a yes. You have Biggs, Boebert, Burleson, Burchett, Cloud, Hyde, Crane, and Harris on this list. Now, what’s interesting is is that the Masseys of the world and the Chip Roy of the world, they were DeSantis advocates from day one. So they’ve never really been on Team Trump. Now, Mike, as you know, when President Trump put out his cabinet nominations and said, hey, these are my selected ones, please, to the Senate, please confirm these and move forward, I thought to myself, if this is the team that president trump wants who is it anybody else to decide that they have a better uh idea in that well i’m still using that same train of thought on the speaker of the house if president trump has been a very outspoken on on speaker johnson he says hey this is my guy i want congress to put in charge of the house then so that it needs to happen but unfortunately mike we do have an internal fight within our party. And I’m with you on this opening statement. Now is not the time for this. We’ve got the Senate. We’ve got the presidency. We have majority in the House. Need be, it’s not as large as we want. But let’s get things done, Mike. And let’s pick these battles a little bit later down the road.
SPEAKER 11 :
Amen. I mean, you want to wake up in a cold sweat, just visualize the words, Speaker of the House Hakeem Jeffries. I mean, what a nightmare that would be. Look, I think it was summed up best as I look at these, what I call sharp-elbowed Republicans, and there’s a bunch of them, many of whom I like. I think it’s summed up best by a lady named Marjorie Taylor Greene. You’ve probably heard of her. I like what she said. Let me quote. She said, quote, You’ve seen me fight against him at times, but you want to know something else? Here’s what I recognize. For the past four years, all of you, and myself included, have put blood, sweat, and tears into electing President Trump. Let’s put aside our pride. Let’s put aside our egos. And let’s put aside the infighting. It’s time to come together as Republicans, and it’s time to do whatever it takes to make sure that we deliver the mandate that the American people told us to do. That’s why I’m excited today. She said this was yesterday. I’m excited tomorrow. I cannot wait to get started. I’ll be voting for Mike Johnson. I will be looking ahead in complete hopefulness and working as hard as possible. MTG is absolutely right, as usual. Let me get your take. You’ve got the connections and the sources. Is it only going to be one no vote? Is he going to is Mike Johnson going to survive today? What do you think is going to happen?
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, just I think he does survive. And I do think he survives on the first ballot. Tom Emmer, the majority left Speaker Johnson’s office just moments ago and said, hey, he feels very confident that Johnson will be elected on first ballot because there’s no one else has really been that outspoken about voting against Johnson other than Massey. Now look to your opening statement as well. I love brands out there that are really, that are always fighting. I love fighters in Congress. That’s what we like about some of the names you just mentioned. But it comes a time when we got to pretty much lay down the gloves and say, look, I will put any petty grievances aside and I will do what’s best for the party. And I do think that’s what the majority of those that initially were going to vote for Speaker Johnson before President Trump formally endorsed him for Speaker. That’s important. I think as soon as Trump formally endorsed Mike Johnson, that pretty much protected him to winning this one more time, Mike.
SPEAKER 11 :
We’re visiting with Brian Glenn from Real America’s Voice. I want to go back to something you said about people who were DeSantis supporters. You know, as a talk show host, and I take a lot of calls, I’ve gotten pretty good at fleshing out the trolls. When I get somebody who says, now I voted for Donald Trump, but… Or I’m a Trump voter, but, and I’m like, uh-oh, the alarm starts going off in my head, and eventually they expose themselves as a never-Trumper. They don’t like Trump. They don’t like his agenda. They don’t like his personality. They don’t like his tweets and all of that. I have a hunch, when you go through the list, you’re so right. A lot of these folks in Congress aren’t exactly, you know, MAGA Trump Republicans. That could be the problem.
SPEAKER 12 :
yeah the the vote they had a couple weeks ago and i can’t remember exactly what the issue was it escapes me right now but 38 of them were never trumpers from the very beginning so it is very lopsided but i think they need to understand that on november 5th you and i witnessed the biggest mandate this country has ever handed uh to the american people and it was a victory for conservatism it was a victory for the trump agenda. We want the popular vote. We want the electoral vote. We want it all. So if anyone had any hesitation from getting behind what would be considered a Trump mandate or the Trump plan, the Make America Great Again plan, they need to rethink that strategy, Mike, because you and I both know a guy named Elon Musk. And he’s already said he would love to primary anyone who is not in lockstep with the America First agenda. And let’s see if the speaker race today reveals someone who might be included on that primary list two years from now.
SPEAKER 11 :
Let’s pivot for just a moment. I can’t think of a more unpopular political figure to our side, at least, than Liz Cheney. Yesterday, Biden rewarded this disgraced ex-Wyoming congresswoman with one of the nation’s highest civilian honors. He also gave… this award, this top award, the Presidential Citizens Medal, to Representative Bennie Thompson, her cohort on this January 6th Select Committee. He’s the guy, incidentally, who wanted to strip Trump of his Secret Service protection in order to get him killed. This is a guy who actually said, well, if you’re a convicted felon, you don’t get Secret Service protection. Brian, What do you make of Biden’s ceremony yesterday? Is this Biden making the decision, or do you think he’s getting his marching orders from elsewhere? There’s a lot of theories about this. In fact, the body language between Biden and Cheney on stage, a lot of people said, look, this was not even Biden’s idea. What’s your takeaway on it?
SPEAKER 12 :
I think you may agree with that. I think this is what someone’s forcing him to do. They want to create as much chaos and controversy as they walk their way out of this administration. That is the same J6 committee, and it was a sham of a trial. It was a Hollywood-produced trial that they deleted so much evidence that came out online. in support of what conservatives were saying about January 6th. They didn’t want to hear any of that. Matter of fact, they left it out. They deleted that evidence as well. This was just another mark on the Biden administration. Look, they’re trying to burn down the House of Cards on the way out. I mean, all the pardons that he has done, the money transfers to Iran to fund terrorist organizations on his way out, that if they could turn around and obviously use that money, weapons against us, This is the most radical regime we’ve ever seen in the White House, and I just pray to God the next 17 days or so that we can have some peace and some civility as we make our way to a Trump administration on January 20th.
SPEAKER 11 :
Brian Glenn, great to catch up with you. Keep fighting the good fight. We appreciate and enjoy your work very, very much, and we’ll see you, I’m sure, in Washington, D.C., where we’re headed for the inauguration in a couple of weeks.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yes, sir. Look forward to seeing you, Mike. Thanks for having me on.
SPEAKER 11 :
Thanks, Brian. Appreciate it. Brian Glenn joining us from Real America’s Voice 17 before the hour. More coming. Yeah, this headline over at The Federalist sums it up perfectly. Liz Cheney should be criminally investigated for her corruption, not rewarded. This is a parting gift from Joe Biden. But I hope it stops at the award. I just hope he doesn’t give her a preemptive pardon because I think she’s going to be facing a reckoning. We’ll see what you think about that and a whole lot more coming up. Mike Gallagher. Every day, Mike visits with Mark Davis, morning host on 660 AM, The Answer in Dallas. Here’s today’s Eminem experience.
SPEAKER 11 :
You do this thing where you get into the weeds and people are going to immediately rush to your defense. Oh, it’s true. It comes from the 16th century, the Catholic Church. Can’t have that accuracy. Can’t have that. I get it. It’s not accuracy. What’s accurate? I don’t know that we ever anticipated watching Christ get stripped out of Christmas.
SPEAKER 13 :
Or going to Home Depot and seeing holiday trees.
SPEAKER 11 :
What?
SPEAKER 13 :
Listen, you and I were warriors locked in arms.
SPEAKER 11 :
I know. And we always will be. And stay in the fight.
SPEAKER 13 :
I would ask you this. What is an example? Find me. Here’s homework. Find me an example of anybody who you think in their use of that abbreviation is being dismissive toward Christmas. I mean, just find it.
SPEAKER 11 :
It’s a total straw man. Find it.
SPEAKER 13 :
You won’t find it.
SPEAKER 11 :
You won’t find it. It’s a tempest in a teapot. Let me speak, Chatty Cathy. I don’t think you’re intentionally being dismissive of Christmas. You’re as fine a Christian man as I know. You’re you’re inadvertently stripping out what Christmas means. Xmas may have some historical significance, but in the culture we’re in today that that and look, it’s getting better. I mean, this I think I think Trump has brought Merry Christmas back.
SPEAKER 13 :
You know, 27 things to talk about. I’m going to make a buddy out of you again. If your point is and it’s a good point. even as historically accurate as I always am, if your point is don’t ever miss an opportunity, even if it’s very easy, don’t ever miss an opportunity to type C-H-R-I-S-T. Don’t ever miss an opportunity.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s right. And look, and I’ll stipulate, you’re probably right, you know, historically or whatever, but that’s so, you know, kind of, I don’t know. Arcane. Arcane. I don’t know. Let’s just agree that Merry Christmas is back. It’s great to celebrate the season. And we forget. And like you said, any chance you get. Now, let’s get down to business. First of all, with Granny Clampett there in New Orleans. And you know that her big thing when she’s not… standing there not even acknowledging that she knew they had sidewalk barriers available in new orleans this is how incompetent she is but her big thing she teaches dei to fellow officers that’s her big thing i mean that this is what happened these this is a product of diversity equity and inclusion you know you mentioned that the fbi’s assistant guy that they brought in he’s right out of central casting they took one look at nose ring and they said get her out of there I mean, and put in the guy, the big, burly, bald guy that can talk like an FBI agent. Period. Oh, yeah, yeah. We found multiple devices. Yeah, I mean, my goodness. And the nose ring. I mean, and the nose ring gets to me only because somebody sent me. I had an FBI agent, an active FBI agent send me their policy. They prohibit it. So what do they do? Wave it for her because they don’t want to make the young woman mad? It would be racist. Don’t be racist. Don’t be racist. So it just frustrates the heck out of me. Every time something like this happens, you know what cities do? They start putting up, like, barricades everywhere. They start putting up. And, you know, you can’t prevent evildoers from committing acts of evil, I think.
SPEAKER 13 :
Bush 43 used this about terrorism. He said, we have to be successful in stopping it 100% of the time. All they have to do is be successful once.
SPEAKER 11 :
And the one time they get through, then we say, oh, it’s a massive failure on our part. Except I think this one kind of was. Well, especially because there’s reporting that there were already briefings a year or two ago that Bourbon Street was particularly vulnerable.
SPEAKER 13 :
And you know what the thing was on the calendar, the glowing thing on the calendar they were looking at at the Superdome coming up in a couple of months? Super Bowl. Next month, Super Bowl. It’s like, but somehow the same number of people in the same stadium yesterday did not warrant a beefing up of security in time for that, which is also attached to what’s that little holiday? Oh, yeah. New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, yeah. And look, there’s also reporting now that Axios is reporting on concerns about the inauguration. There’s a part of me that wishes Trump did the inauguration inside somewhere, safe.
SPEAKER 13 :
Don’t the terrorists win?
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, we already changed the date of the Sugar Bowl. I mean, you know, like you said. And by the way, the timing, I know you were frustrated by why they played it yesterday at 4 Eastern, 3 Central. I think it wasn’t because of the second game. There was another game last night.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, yeah, which is stupid because you had to have Duke and Ole Miss. How about you make everybody in Jacksonville move their schedules rather than people who are coming to a game with a national impact? Okay, so the inauguration will be on the west front of the Capitol. I’d say that’s a deeply, deeply secure area. Every rooftop, unlike Butler, PA, I don’t think anybody’s going to take Trump out as his hand is on the Bible. Funny, funny. And you know what? Can Monday, can you and I talk about Jimmy Carter? Because I’m going to spend some time, which we did not get a chance to do. He passed away while we were both away. A legacy of a man of much personal virtue, wrong virtually every policy, and both can be true at the same time. Anyway, though, Carter, I believe, was the first to get out of the limo and walk Pennsylvania Avenue. And everybody went, what? wow, man of the people, that’s awesome. I said that, and I just finished voting against him in my first election ever. I think Trump did it in 2017, right? He did it. Okay, so I’m here to tell you, Pennsylvania Avenue locked down hard. I would love to think there is no way anybody can squeeze off a shot at Trump or Melania walking that mile and a half of Pennsylvania Avenue, but are we confident enough to… We are not. So, no, let’s not move the inauguration indoors. No, but don’t be walking down Pennsylvania. See, I want him. I want it to be the most Trumpian thing in the world to walk it again. Walk it again.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, I don’t want to put anything bad out of the universe. I know. Let me end with a cool story about the intimacy of what we do. So I’m in L.A., and I’m flying back after visiting with Dennis in the hospital, and I’m in the lounge at LAX. And a guy comes up to me. I’m sitting there minding my own business. I talk to the people working in the lounge a little bit. And a guy comes up to me and says, pardon me, I don’t mean to bother you, but are you Mike Gallagher? I said, yeah, hi, how are you? And he goes, I knew it was you. And it was the coolest thing. He said, I had no idea what you looked like. I’ve never seen you before. I recognized your voice. Mm-hmm. And I thought, that’s like the third or fourth time. Has that ever happened to you before? All the time. You bet. That’s the strangest thing to me. I don’t think I’d recognize anybody by their voice. Just their voice? Sure, unless it’s somebody you listen to on the radio every day. Well, and he did. Well, anyhow, so we talked for 15 minutes. Great guy. Nice guy. He’s off to Cabo, you know, with his fiance. And I asked him in the course of the conversation, what do you do? He goes, I work in the film business. I thought, well, sure, it’s Hollywood, Los Angeles, whatever he works at. So then I get back to that five minutes into the conversation. Mark, he is the co-chairman and co-founder of one of the biggest movie studios in the world. Wow. I almost – and like a schoolboy, I’m like Googling him after the – That’s wonderful. It was the coolest thing, and I was telling Hewitt about it a couple weeks ago. He says, yeah, you forget that, like, famous people do listen to us. Absolutely. He told the story of Clint Eastwood being a fan of Hugh’s, you know, and so it’s the way. Kelsey Grammer I met once said, oh, Mike, I listen to you. It’s neat to neat, but this guy is like a big deal. So anyway, it’s kind of neat. It’s a sidebar that he’s famous in the movie industry, but what I think is really special is that somebody can recognize you by your voice. Absolutely. We just forget how intimate our medium is and how people relate. And of course, now with Salem News Channel, our faces are plastered everywhere.
SPEAKER 13 :
I was going to say, how does somebody not know what you look like? He didn’t.
SPEAKER 11 :
He said I’ve never everywhere. He was in L.A. And, you know, it’s though it was the funniest story because he said, I’ve never I’ve never seen you before. OK, well, great. And but that was just the coolest thing. I just wanted to share a little bit of that with you.
SPEAKER 10 :

SPEAKER 03 :
I don’t really like working. I’m going to need a priority parking space. I only work remotely. How are your safe spaces? Can I bring my dog to work? Will your company protect me against microaggressions? You’re triggering me. Is this interview almost over?
SPEAKER 07 :
You don’t run a daycare. You run a business. So why use high-priced recruitment agencies who charge you up to 40% of an employee’s first-year salary? So they’re focused on getting you the costly talent, not the best fit. Which means you get more of this.
SPEAKER 03 :
What’s your policy on paying employees to attend protests? I demand eight weeks of vacation. I need at least 12 weeks of paid vacation. I’m going to need a lot of mental health days. Do you have a game room? My pronouns are Zs and Zs.
SPEAKER 07 :
Isn’t it time you hired grown-ups? Call RedBalloon.Work and skip those high-priced recruitment agencies. Call 833-880-0600 for a free consultation. That’s 833-880-0600 for a free consultation.
