I think it’s being positioned by President Trump as part of a tariff sort of negotiation, and I trust his instincts, but frankly, we don’t want Canada to be the 51st state, do we? But we don’t have a grudge with the Canadian people, do we? How about the premier of Canada saying what he said yesterday? I saw this clip. I said to myself, this can’t be. Can you imagine Trump standing outside the White House and saying, you know what? I want to hurt the people of Canada. I want to inflict pain upon the people of Argentina. I mean, I know that’s what Trump critics think his policies invariably will do. But if he came out and said it, he just said, I want to hurt as many Canadians as I can, the worldwide outcry would be epic, right? So what does the world say about the premier of Ford, premier of Canada, Mr. Ford saying this.

But I can assure you one thing. We’re going to make sure that we inflict as much pain as possible to the American people without inflicting pain on the Canadian population.

That’s the premier of Canada, Ontario Premier Doug Ford. And I don’t know what he’s the premier of. I don’t know what kind of guy. I don’t know anything about Canada. I know their health care system is a disaster. I hear story after story of people waiting three years to get in for a kidney transplant. It’s a nightmare. I’ve been inundated with horror stories about the socialized medicine they have up in Canada. That’s really the only negative thing I know about Canada. I got nothing bad to say about Canada. But really? Ontario Premier Doug Ford? You want to inflict as much pain as possible on Americans because you’re mad at Trump? Look, even if we have a civil disagreement over Trump’s policies, which is plausible, we can all debate it. I don’t care. Now leaders in Canada are openly rooting to hurt us, the American people? Do I need to rethink my apathy about Canada? Do we have Canadians who can speak to this? Give me your reaction. And again, I don’t know. Is he the premier of Ontario or the premier of Canada? What is a premier? I don’t even know what the heck they do over there. Is he a potentate? Is he a poobah? Is he a king, premier, emperor? I don’t know. I don’t particularly care. Again, I don’t want to hate Canada. And I won’t make the mistake that he wants to make. This was the clip I saw last night on social media that said, if you hear 30 seconds of the Bret Baier, Elon Musk, Doge team interview, hear this. For you, what’s the most astonishing thing you’ve found out in this process?

The sheer amount of waste and fraud in the government. It is astonishing. It’s mind-blowing. We routinely encounter wastes of a billion dollars or more. Casually. You know, for example, the simple survey that was literally a 10-question survey that you could do with SurveyMonkey cost you about $10,000. The government was being charged almost a billion dollars for that. For just a survey? A billion dollars for a simple online survey, do you like the national park? And then there appeared to be no feedback loop for what would be done with that survey. So the survey would just go into nothing.

So we, the taxpayers, paid a billion dollars for a survey that asked if you like national parks. And then they didn’t do anything with the results of the survey. This is what Doge and his team is uncovering. You okay with that? Hey, Democrats, you want your taxpayer money going to something like that? Is the battle between government of decades and decades of buildup and business, which you guys are, is that like a train hitting each other? I mean, it seems like it’s pretty disruptive.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, this is a revolution. And I think it might be the biggest revolution in government since the original revolution. But at the end of the day, America is going to be in much better shape. America will be solvent. The critical programs that people depend upon will work. And it’s going to be a fantastic future. But are we going to get a lot of complaints along the way? Absolutely. One of the things I learned at PayPal was, you know who complains the loudest and with the most amount of fake righteous indignation? The fraudsters. It’s a tell. There’s some NGOs that are crazy, like the $2 billion to Stacey Abrams NGO that basically didn’t exist and suddenly gets $2 billion awarded from the federal government. She says, why? And there are many such cases like that.
SPEAKER 08 :
I think that most people, common sense-wise, would say the fraud’s got to end. They’re concerned about the 94-year-old mother who skips a check or somehow doesn’t get what she’s supposed to get.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. And what we’re trying to say is actually that the 94-year-old grandmother is actually, as a result of Judge Doge’s work, going to get her check. She’s not going to be robbed by fraudsters like she’s getting robbed today. And the solvency of the federal government will ensure that she continues to receive those Social Security checks, that Medicare continues to work, without which we’re all doomed. The reason we’re doing this is because if we don’t do it, America is going to go insolvent. We’re going to go bankrupt. And nobody’s going to get anything.
SPEAKER 08 :
Why are you guys all doing it? I mean, you can pipe up, but you don’t have to be here, right? I mean, you don’t have to be doing this.
SPEAKER 12 :
I have four, blessed with four beautiful children, my wife and I. But we have a real fiscal crisis. And this is not sustainable. And what’s worse, back to my children and everyone else’s children, is we are burdening them with that debt. And it’s only going to grow.
SPEAKER 08 :
Steve, there’s not a lot of hierarchy here. You guys are kind of all approaching it in different ways. You know, silos, but with the same kind of goal. Right. I mean, this is really Silicon Valley private sector colliding with government.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, exactly. And we’re headed in a bad path. But the chance of success exists. And just the one that just is in my head right now, which is a fairly mundane one, but I think is very illustrative, is credit cards. There are, in the federal government, around 4.6 million credit cards for around 2.3 to 2.4 million employees. This doesn’t make sense. And so one of the things all of the teams have worked on is we’ve worked with the agencies and said… Do you need all of these credit cards? Are they being used? Can you tell us physically where they are? I hope they’re getting frequent flyers. Actually, on a different note, the rewards program the federal government has is actually not very good. That’s a whole other… It’s a negotiation. Yeah, exactly. But so far, the teams have worked together, and they’ve reduced it from 4.6 million to 4.3 million. So… We’re taking it easy.
SPEAKER 07 :
But clearly there should not be more credit cards than there are people.
SPEAKER 08 :
Joe, middle-level employees, are they seeing a benefit to being empowered by taking out bureaucracy?
SPEAKER 09 :
Absolutely. I mean, I think what you’re seeing is taking the best of Silicon Valley in the business world and bringing it into the government. We’re bringing the best practices and the best methodologies. And people are inspired, especially on the retirement process, which I can speak to. They’ve been trying to modernize and get off of paper since early 2000s, very unsuccessfully. Every attempt has gone over budget and been canceled because it hasn’t been successful. And so, you know, I showed up and I feel like I’m here because it’s an interesting problem. We can use design to solve it and good engineering and really create a better experience for everybody.
SPEAKER 07 :
We’re talking about elementary financial controls that are necessary for any company to function. So, like, if the federal government… If a commercial company operated the way the federal government does, then it would immediately go bankrupt. It would be delisted. The officers would be arrested. The changes we’re putting in place will enable the federal government to pass an audit. It will enable taxpayers to know where the money is going and know that their hard-earned tax dollars are being spent well. The ways that the government has defrauded is that the computer systems don’t talk to each other. So if the computer systems don’t talk to each other, then you can… you can exploit that gap and exploit that gap to take advantage. For example, there were over $300 million of small business administration loans that has been given out to people under the age of 11.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, actually, to add to this, $300 million under the age of 11 and over $300 million to over the age of 120.
SPEAKER 07 :
Definitely… Small business loans, correct? Yes. The oldest American is 114. So it’s safe to say if their age is 115 or above, they’re fake. Or they should be in the Guinness Book of World Records. And we should not be giving out loans to babies. So the… The youngest recipient of a small business administration loan is a nine-month-old, which is a very, very cautious baby we’re talking about here. So obviously it was just fraudulent. And they do terrible things. They actually will see that a kid’s been born. They will steal that kid’s social security number and then take out a loan and leave that kid with a bad credit rating. There was literally a baby. The terrible things are being done, is what we’re saying.
SPEAKER 08 :
We’re stopping these terrible things. And you can stop it? We are stopping it.
SPEAKER 06 :
The reason this is happening is because the two systems are not talking to each other. And so you don’t know at the Small Business Administration that you’re giving a loan to a nine-month-old, which happened in one case, because you’re not cross-referencing that with the Social Security Administration data that has birthdates. So that very, very simple fix… Yes. Eliminates tremendous fraud. And there are multiple systems across the government where the systems are not speaking with one another. And if you just solve that simple problem, you would solve a huge amount of fraud.
SPEAKER 07 :
Are you surprised? One of the key tricks that the fraudsters pull is that they will use the fact that someone is marked as live, just that social security number is marked as live in social security, and then get disability and unemployment insurance. for a dead person because the databases don’t talk to each other all they got was from social security is like is this person alive yes they’re not they’re not alive it’s falsely marked person’s falsely marked as alive social security uh but they didn’t but but that was a fraudster can now get unemployment and disability from a dead person This is happening all the time at scale.
SPEAKER 08 :
Are you surprised at some of the legal efforts and some of the judges that have weighed in? There’s about eight or ten now of these cases that are at least temporary holds. They’re being challenged by the DOJ. Are you surprised by that pushback?
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, the D.C. circuit is notorious for having a very far-left bias. And when you look at the people close to some of these judges, where are they working? Oh, they’re working at these NGOs. Oh, they’re the ones getting this money. Does that seem like a system that lacks corruption? It sounds like corruption to me.
SPEAKER 08 :
Last thing, do you guys all see this as a patriotic duty? Is that really what this is about?
SPEAKER 05 :
It’s essential. I do, 100%. I was running five businesses in Houston, and I left that. I left great people to do this. And my wonderful wife said, go for it. And here I am. But I feel like this is me giving back to the country.
SPEAKER 07 :
If we don’t do this, we’re sunk. Unless this exercise is successful, the ship of America will sink. That’s why we’re doing it.

Yesterday, heart guitarist Nancy Wilson says, it’s more embarrassing to be an American now than during the Vietnam War. Now, this was news to me that it was embarrassing to be an American during the Vietnam War. You could feel however you wanted to feel. Did even the hippies, maybe some did, Say they were. ashamed to be an american they just said we shouldn’t be over there you know fighting and dying a half a world away a point that seems to have some logic these days so i i don’t know and so my first thought was okay free speech absolutely and i will never be necessarily one of the shut up and sing people everybody can weigh in however they want i did however suggest that maybe people might want to rethink their thoughts about the 14th of june at texas trust cu theater in Grand Prairie, or maybe they will not see you in the form of Anne and Nancy Wilson. They might want to adjust their concert plans accordingly.

Well, I mean, I’m with you. I think all voices should have a seat at the table, and they do, but I don’t want to pay for it. And that takes me to the wild testimony yesterday from the head of NPR and PBS. Wowza. Wowza, wowza, wowza. I mean, some of these folks, your guy there locally, the Brandon Gil. Brandon Gil, just here.

I’ll play this in the next hour. It is two and a half hours of takedown. And it’s surgically precise. He doesn’t bludgeon her. He’s not mean to her. He asks her questions. You know, do you believe X, Y, Z? Oh, I don’t really think so. Well, then why did you tweet this in 2020? Brings the receipts. It was awesome.
SPEAKER 13 :
I mean, it was point by point where she first she refuted what he was saying. And he says, well, wait a minute. This is what you said when you tweeted this out. Well, I didn’t say that. Well, this is what you said when you tweeted this out. It’s unbelievable. And look, I know they do good work over there. But when you’ve got I think they said 87 members of their newsroom and not a single registered Republican.
SPEAKER 14 :
Not one show devoted to the conservative viewpoint. They got they got podcasts. They got documentaries. You know, they’re a huge empire. And, you know, yeah.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, I mean, look, Representative Fallin went through it all. I mean, they they they branded NPR, branded the Hunter Biden laptop story a waste of time. Let’s check this out. Fallin was asking the NPR CEO, how many how many times did you interview Adam Schiff about the Russia collusion hoax? Excellent. She said, I don’t know. Fallon had the receipts 25 times, 25. Then he said, how many times did NPR interview Chairman Comer about the Biden impeachment inquiry and the Biden family’s illegitimate business dealings? I don’t know, she said. Zero times. Zero times. Look, there’s no question. We don’t even have to play this game. We know NPR is a biased organization. We know PBS is a biased organization. I’m not against biased organizations. Some would call you and me biased. They better. well that’s proudly partisan we’re not doing our job if we’re not however we don’t expect the taxpayers to fund us we’re not we don’t have our handout and we don’t expect any portion of what we do funded by taxpayers so that’s the problem and last night president trump uh he he went off on on truth social and he said defund npr and pbs now he He clearly saw this testimony, and as I thought he would. I mean, I watched it. I thought, oh, my gosh. This isn’t going to go over well with the boss. He saw it, and he said he went through the roof. And he’s right. And I would love for your – you’ve got a lot of – look, Dallas has a great local PBS station, right? Isn’t it?
SPEAKER 14 :
KERA. And by the way, here’s the thing. They’re still going to be there locally.

They’re not going anywhere.

Let’s talk talk shows. Chris Boyd doing Think in the middle of the day. She is awesome. And Terry Gross, Fresh Air, one of the best interviews around this American life. One of the best podcasts and things that you can do. Before I found out Rick Steves was a communist. That’s an incredible travel show. But here’s the thing. People got money. Sheryl Crow’s got garage full of Teslas. She used to. They will absolutely be able to survive. I’ll send them $30 a year to keep the shows that I like.
SPEAKER 13 :
The system will work. Here’s what makes me crazy about these guys. There’s all this, and like I said, I would love to ask the pointy-headed intellectuals of Dallas-Fort Worth, why should taxpayers fund any portion at all of what they do? See, we’re lifelong broadcasters, so we know how this works. I’m a little unique in terms of what I focus on. I’m big on the business side of what I do. I look every morning at a spreadsheet. The first thing I do when I walk out the door, how’s my budget? What have I done in March? Am I hitting my numbers? Because I learned a long time ago from one of my earlier bosses and my mentors. Greg Anderson, frankly, who’s my dear, dear mentor and friend who’s retired and happy with his beautiful wife, Linda. Greg taught me, look, Mike, as a host, you hit your budget, ratings will come and go, but you hit your budget, you’ll be fine. And I learned that decades ago, and I’m almost obsessed about it. So I work hard. I started the Mike Gallagher Show nationally as an entrepreneur with my business partner, a great guy out of Pennsylvania, John Dame. We formed Dame Gallagher Networks, and we started this show before it got picked up by Salem. Anyway, I love the business side of things. I know how wrong it is for NPR or PBS to be funded by the taxpayer.
SPEAKER 14 :
taxpayers that’s all this is about mark that’s all this comes down to and i don’t think you could make a legitimate argument as to why taxpayers should fund one penny of npr but here’s a funny as as the artsy fartsy guy that you are and that i often am give me give you a little wrinkle because the reason and it’s very important that everybody knows that mike and i would be saying the exact same thing i hope we would i trust we would if npr were cranking out conservative stuff
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, I’m saying that about us. I’m saying that about you and me, of course.
SPEAKER 14 :
There’s proof that you’re absolutely consistent on this and that NPR and PBS’s liberalism is the second most egregious thing. And it’s not even egregious at all. They got free speech, but it shouldn’t be taxpayer funded. Now, is there a sliver of room for public funding of like a symphony in a town? An opera company in a town No I’m going to say yes and here’s why If there is an argument for a sliver of a penny to something that a community simply would not have. If there’s a city where the marketplace just goes, we don’t like opera, then they won’t have an opera. And no 14-year-old girl or boy will see an opera in their town or a symphony in their town. A symphony.

Bologna. We’ve got too many problems in this country with crime, with infrastructure. We’ve got issues that are too pressing. Let me finish my point. We’ve got too many problems and too many people suffering where we’re devoting taxpayer money to an opera in a community that might not normally have an opera so a kid can go see an opera.

Then get a group of philanthropists and arts-loving people like you and me and put together fundraising and put together efforts that will raise the funds necessary to deliver an opera to a community that might be underserved. The taxpayer funding part is gone. And I’m a guy that loves the arts. I don’t want taxpayers. We’ve got too many pressing things we’ve got to pay for, Mark.
SPEAKER 14 :
I think what I want to do is let’s have 10 years of doge, you know, and get to where we’re not wasting as much. And maybe a sliver of a bank and put a symphony in an inner city so a kid can learn how to play the oboe.
SPEAKER 13 :
And by the way, in the same subject, look at what’s going on with this Snow White thing. My Lord. This thing is getting, to quote Senator John Kennedy, this is less popular than chlamydia. I mean, this movie is tanking. Well, the producer, one of the producers of the film is a guy named Mark Platt. Now, Mark Platt is a big time, and I know about him because he produced Wicked. Boy, wouldn’t you like to have that investment? I mean, he produced the Broadway show. He produced the movies. He’s a big-time Hollywood producer. He’s got a couple of acting kids. Ben Platt, who I’ve seen in Dear Evan Hansen. He’s a talented kid. His brother is a guy named Jonah Platt.
SPEAKER 14 :
I think that’s another son.
SPEAKER 13 :
It is. It’s one of the sons of Mark Platt. Yeah, yeah, I’m sorry. I get kind of confusing, but he’s one of the sons of this big-time producer. So it’s been reported that the producer had to fly to L.A. to scold Rachel Ziegler, who’s playing Snow White, and say, pipe down on all your Trump-hating politics. Knock it off. You’re going to hurt the movie. So somebody heard about that and wrote directly to Jonah Platt, the producer’s son, and said, your dad flew, excuse me, it was from L.A. to New York. Your dad flew to New York City to reprimand a young actress? Any words on this, Jonah? Because that’s creepy as hell and uncalled for. People have the right to free speech. No. No? Shame on your father. Now, by the way, part of her free speech is it’s been revealed she’s been posting F.U. Trump. Great. that she literally says F you until she reposts something from Trump says F you. Well, Jonah Platt responded. The son of the Snow White producer gave a response.
SPEAKER 14 :
Everybody stop what you’re doing right now as Mike shares Jonah Platt’s response to the notion that the producer dad should not go, quote unquote, scold a young actress. The floor is yours.
SPEAKER 13 :
And I quote, quote, you really want to do this? Yeah. My dad, the producer of enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to fly across the country to reprimand his 20 year old employee for for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for. This is called adult responsibility and accountability. And her actions clearly hurt the film’s box office. Free speech does not mean you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions. Tens of thousands of people worked on that film, and she hijacked the conversation for her own immature desires at the risk of all the colleagues and crew and blue-collar workers who depend on that movie to be successful. Narcissism, he concludes, is not something to be coddled or encouraged. Thank you, Jonah Flatwood. That’s how it’s done.
SPEAKER 14 :

I tell you what, honestly, because I know. I don’t know. I mean, she’s repulsive. Yes, because she deserves it. But in a weird way, it almost aggrandizes her. She’d wear it like a badge of honor. I don’t know.

There’s a part of me that just wants her to keep doing it because it just ruins their brand.
SPEAKER 14 :
The censure will only energize her further, which is why I’m going to come down with a yes on the censure. I think you helped me with this with Al Green shaking his big old cane at Trump. Of course he deserved to be censured. Well, that was different. I mean, of course it’s different.
SPEAKER 13 :
Well, he disrupted a proceeding. She’s just an obnoxious, nasty lady. I mean, making fun of a guy with a disability? Are you kidding? But do you get censured for that? No, but disrupting an official proceeding? Of course you should.
SPEAKER 14 :
