Hour 1 opens with John Rush setting a hard-truth tone before diving into what he says is one of the clearest economic signals he’s seen heading into 2026. Drawing from firsthand experience at the Barrett-Jackson auto auction in Scottsdale, John asks a provocative question: What does massive spending on non-essential luxury items say about the real state of the economy? With record crowds, high-dollar purchases, and disposable income flowing freely, he challenges the constant crash narratives and warns listeners not to confuse debt concerns with an imminent collapse. The hour then pivots sharply to the controversial Minnesota ICE shooting.
SPEAKER 09 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 13 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 06 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 13 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did. Get a job, sir.
SPEAKER 10 :
You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 08 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 10 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by Cub Creek Heating and Air Conditioning.
SPEAKER 09 :
Okay, Monday edition, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Thank you all for listening. Hope you had a great weekend. Made it through the cold snap that we had, and we’ll talk about the Bronco game a little bit later. And, of course, we’ll talk about what’s going on in Minnesota here in a moment. Prior to that, question of the day. Today, what ancient library symbolized lost classical knowledge? What ancient library symbolized lost classical knowledge? And there’s no way I would ever know this answer because… I’m just not into that thing. So those of you that are, though, answer that question on our Facebook page. Okay. I always talk about how, you know, what do I learn on vacation and so on. Not that last week was a vacation. I was working for the most part going to the Bear Jackson auction, and I do that on the media sides of things. And it’s very informative, let me just say that. And you learn a lot and see a lot of different things, and it keeps you up to date on – cars and prices and what’s happening in that world and so on i’ll talk more about that on on drive radio of course on saturday for those of you that are really you know really really into that but for though for just a general listener here’s the one thing that auction sort of always symbolizes for me and i it’s fairly accurate i’ve i’ve gone you know numerous times now and what i’ve learned is the year ahead And what’s going to happen, economically speaking, has a lot to do with how the money flows at that auction. Now, it’s not just that auction. There’s others as well. But is the money flowing or not? And I will tell you that at this past week’s auction, Barrett Jackson in Phoenix, Scottsdale, I should say, was the money flowing? Yeah. Yeah. Any of you that watched any of the auction online but know exactly what I’m talking about there, yep, the money was flowing. Now, not only was the money flowing in regards to buying of cars and so on and really pushing even some cars, in my opinion, up over what probably their actual value is. Now, value is what somebody’s willing to pay. I get that. Although at auctions, some things can get pushed up just because there’s two people or in some cases three or four people going against each other and it’s every man for himself. Yes, it’s typically guys. Rarely do you see a woman get involved in that sort of thing, but it can happen. But guys are really big on that. And that’s why auctions make some of the money that they do and why people take their belongings there because they know what I just said happens. Point being, the money was flowing. And, again, stupid prices for some vehicles. Now, not only was the money flowing there, but it’s an expensive thing to get into. General admission tickets, I think, are somewhere around $80 or so. You can do larger passes than that and VIP packages and so on. And here’s what I will tell you. Every area, including the VIP areas and so on, jammed full. I mean, to the point where Saturday evening you couldn’t hardly walk from one place to another because there were so many people. and I don’t know if it set record attendance, I’m guessing it probably did. Again, being there that you know, being there in the past, like I have, it’s it’s just amazing to me, the amount of people that they can pack in that thing. And again, a lot of them are buyers, a lot of people are lucky lose. And there’s every walk of life there. Some probably are doing good to, to put gas in their car and pay the admission fee and show up. And then there’s, you know, billionaires, you know, spending millions of dollars on cars. that probably flew in in their private jet to the Scottsdale airport. And I’m not exaggerating in what I’m saying. It’s a phenomena to see. And just as a side note, if you ever get a chance to go, car person or not, it’s worth the price of admission just to see everything I just said. Now, on top of that, once you’re there, you’re eating and having a soft drink or whatever, I mean, nothing’s cheap, right? Nothing’s cheap. I mean, everything there that you’re doing, it’s like going to any other type of a sporting event, if you would, where normally a $3, $4 hot dog is $12 or whatever. I mean, it just gets out of control. But the people line up to buy this stuff. So my point with… I look at a lot of that at the beginning of the year and determine, you know, what’s going to happen economically throughout the rest of the year. And I think it correlates to a certain degree. And if that does correlate, then you’re going to see a decent 2026, economically speaking, just because of what I saw this past week. Now, do I have any actual factual evidence of that? I don’t know if it’s actual factual evidence and data, but when you’re there and you can just sort of feel the buzz and the money that’s flowing out, and there is a gob of money there. And I’ve said this before. especially to a lot of you that listen to me that are somewhat on the naysaying sides of things, thinking the sky is going to fall tomorrow because the economy is going to crash and, you know, on and on we go. I’ll just tell you guys straight up. If you’re in that crowd, you’re wrong. Nothing’s crashing. I can tell you that right now. Nothing. Nothing. Do I have concerns about what we as a country do, our debt and things along those lines? Absolutely. Absolutely, I do. But do we have an economy anywhere as close to crashing? Not even close, folks. Not even close. So, again, the reason why I just said what I said is I get text messages and things from people that really worry about where are we headed and where’s this cliff that we’re going to fall off of and when’s it going to happen and on and on we go. Here’s the reality. Not in the immediate future. Maybe way out in the distance, but not in the immediate future. And what you need to do to believe what I just said is go travel around and do some of the things that I just did and see for yourself how that works, and you’ll understand what I’m talking about. because it’s not like anything else you’ve seen. Now, some of you that are big folk in ranching and cattle and horses and all of that that just went to the stock show, which I think broke attendance records as well, if I’m not mistaken, you could attest to the same thing there. So my point is, What’s 2026 going to look like? I’ve said it with Scott Garlis. I’ll continue to say it. Once the Fed chair changes out, once Jerome Powell is gone and we have a new Fed chair, watch out. The economy is going to blow up is my prediction, and I don’t think I’m wrong in saying that. And it’ll even be greater than it has been. That’s my prediction. We’ll see what ends up happening, but that’s my guess. And my wife just texted me. I think the auction brought in $195 million. For cars, folks. For cars. But keep in mind, a lot of those cars sell for $50,000, $60,000. There are some cars there you can buy for $20,000. There are some cars you can buy for $10,000. There’s also cars there that are in the millions and everything in between. And by the way, for some of you that think that that’s a low number based upon some of the sales that you may have seen on television, remember all of the charity sales where they may bring even a million bucks or so to charity, those aren’t counted in that. Those are on top, and they do quite a few. I think there’s almost one a day, if not one per day, that they do for charity where somebody has agreed to donate a car. General Motors donated a new Corvette ZR1X, for example, to a charity, and it was auctioned off for, I think, $2.3 million, and all that money goes to that charity. And General Motors, of course, is going to get the tax write-off for that. But that’s how that works. So some of the – when you guys hear that number and think, oh, it has to be bigger than that, the charity number my wife just said was $5.85 million.
SPEAKER 1 :
$5.85.
SPEAKER 09 :
So, again, all of that doesn’t even include – or that’s not included in the $195, basically $200 million that was sold. That’s not included in that figure. So – And by the way, that’s just cars that were sold. That doesn’t count price of admission, concessions and everything else. I mean, it’s a big deal. Point being, it was extremely busy. How does that handle things, you know, moving into the future? And, you know, what does all that look like? And we were talking about this when I was there with some other folks. Remember, these things that are getting bought and sold, by the way, at this auction are not necessities. There’s not one single car at that auction that you would consider a necessity. Everything there is somebody’s toy or luxury item that they have bought in addition to whatever else they drive on a daily basis. That’s just how it works. So that’s another thing to kind of keep in perspective is this is really, at the end of the day, disposable income for a lot of individuals that go there to basically, quote-unquote, buy a toy. And at the end of the day, you know, figure out how to get that thing home and maybe they’ll auction off on down there. Maybe they’re a collector. Bottom line, point being, these are not necessities. These aren’t even people buying homes and things like that, you know, where you need a roof over your head. No, these are items that, frankly, I’ll be straight up honest, no one needs. So that’s my point with the economy and all of that and how that kind of dovetails in. And we’ll talk more about that, of course, as the week goes on. I’ll talk more about the auction itself and some specific vehicles and things that went through on Saturday’s Drive Radio. But I’m going to get into Minnesota here in just one moment. Roof Savers of Colorado coming up next, though. Don’t forget Dave Hart. And even on days like today where right now it’s 43 degrees. So we’ll get the snow off of the roofs. We’ll get things warmed up just a tad. And guess what? SPEAKER 06 :
God. Country. Reason. Now back to John Rush.
SPEAKER 09 :
Okay, we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Thanks for tuning in. And I had several of you text in, honestly, thanking me for that last segment in regards to how that dovetails back into the economy and so on. And, yeah, just as some of you that might have come in late to that particular topic, that was the Barrett-Jackson auto auction. It is, I would say, because I don’t think I’m wrong in this, there’s some other large auctions that maybe are a little bit more hooty-tooty than – Barrett-Jackson. But Barrett-Jackson, when it comes to just straight car auction, it is the biggest. It’s the biggest, the baddest. Yes, there’s Mecham. Yes, there’s some other even Barrett-Jackson auctions across the country throughout the year. But the Scottsdale auction in January for Barrett-Jackson is, in my opinion, the top dog. Everybody else tries to do what they do there, and some come close. It’s not that all the other auctions are bad, but that’s the auction that I went to, again, as part of not only this show but Drive Radio as well. All right. As I was gone, something always blows up, it seems like, when I’m gone. We’ve even got some guests that are going to join us a little bit later to talk about some of the things going on in Minnesota. But unless you live under a rock, you probably saw the situation in Minnesota where the armed man, I think they’ve determined at this point he was armed, and I’ll talk a lot about this in a moment. But the armed man that was shot by ICE in Minnesota, and it has, you know, generated a flurry of opinions from the left and the right and even some folks probably more in the middle. And, you know, where do I stand in all of this? I’m going to give you all of my opinions. That’s all they are. I don’t have any factual evidence right now to back up anything that I’m going to say other than it’s just my opinion of where things are in that particular end of things. Now, all that being said, some of you are going to say, well, did you watch the video? Did you see what really happened? Here’s my problem with this particular incident. Unless Charlie has seen something that I haven’t, I haven’t seen one good solid video yet that really shows what actually exactly happened. There’s a bunch of choppy cell phone video that cuts in and out, and whoever’s doing the video can’t keep the video on the scene. It’s bouncing all over the place. You can’t really determine exactly what’s happening and who did what. And was something said? Was there other things that happened even out of frame that we can’t tell? What happened prior to this particular incident where the video starts with somebody’s cell phone? Those are things I can’t see. And by the way, I’ve seen some of the other great big news organizations, CNN, New York Times and others, break this down and accuse ICE of this, that and the other. And I’m going to get into this, give you my opinion in just one moment. But here’s my problem with them breaking down these videos. The videos suck. I’m just being straight up honest. They stink. There is no solid video to break down to really determine what’s going on and who’s at fault. That’s my problem. Now, I’ve seen some of the other videos prior to this, Rene Good, for example, where that one had enough views and enough angles where you could pretty much tell what was going on there. That was an easy judgment call for me. This one, I’ll be straight up honest, folks. I don’t know. I can’t tell. I don’t know what happened prior to this incident. And you really can’t hardly tell with the incident itself what’s really going on because, again, whoever was doing the filming was a moron. And kept moving things. It’s like, keep it in frame, pal. How hard is this? But they didn’t. So again, these big news organizations that are running around talking about the analysis of the video, you know what? A kindergartner can analyze this video because it’s not much and it’s not very good. It’s actually awful. So with that being said… Here’s my thoughts on all this. I’ll start on the individual side that was killed first. Never a good thing when someone dies, by the way. It’s always tragic. I don’t care what side of the aisle they’re on. I don’t care what their beliefs are. I don’t care what their background is. I don’t care if they think like me, don’t think like me. Anytime there’s a loss of life, it’s a bad thing. I said that with Renee Good. I’ll say that in this particular situation. Never good when there’s a loss of life, period. Now, with all of that getting out of the way, and I’ll get into the Second Amendment part of this as well. I might have to do that the next segment after this. But let me just talk about my feelings on this particular gentleman to begin with. And I’ve said this before, and I’ll continue to say it. Why are you there? Why are you there? And some of you on the left are going to come back and say, well, they’re protesting ICE, and what’s going on? And it’s their right to protest and so on. I get that. Why, though? what are you going to accomplish? And by the way, what I’m saying right now, I have said to our side, and I’ll continue to say it. When you do a protest, even us on the right, you go down to the state capitol, you hold up your signs, you stand on the steps, what do you really accomplish at the end of the day by doing that? Nothing. Nothing. Do you bring awareness to a topic? Maybe. Do most people care? No. Does it change a politician’s mind? Never. In fact, it might make it worse. So at the end of the day, what do you really accomplish by protesting besides nothing? And in fact, maybe even agitating the other side to the point where the outcome’s even worse than it would have been if you wouldn’t have started it at all. And that’s my problem with the protesters in Minnesota right now is I get your right to protest. I get your right of free assembly. I understand free speech and all of that. I get it. I do. I get it. And as I’ve always said, there’s a time and place for everything. Is this the time and the place in Minnesota? I would strongly say no, it is not. Because here’s the other thing. What are you protesting? The fact that ICE is rounding up a bunch of illegal immigrants that shouldn’t be here in the first place and have probably committed crimes and that’s who they’re targeting first and that’s who they’re rounding up and deporting? That’s a bad thing? It’s your fault, Minnesota. You created sanctuary cities all across your state. That’s on you. Tim Walsh, that’s on you. And I’ve said that before, and I’ll keep saying it. Again, is it good when somebody loses a life? No, it is not. And I have to go back and ask the question in this case, what are you doing here? Now, I’ll get into the gun part of things, but I have to break this up into several parts because there’s several facets of this. In my opinion, several things going on here, and I’ll give you opinions on each. So in this case, I’m just talking about the person being there. Why is he there? And then on top of that, why are you in the middle of a scuffle? What did you say? What did you do? What’s your real intention of being there? That’s the question I have, and I get it. You can be there, protest, but here’s the key. It’s peacefully protest. There’s nothing that allows you to antagonize and start fights and other things. That’s not how this works. And yet that’s what the left is doing in Minnesota. Literally, this is out of the Saul Alinsky playbook. How do you create chaos? What do you do to the people? And that’s what they’re doing in Minnesota. And people are dumb enough to buy into that. In this case, this gentleman did. Now, I think his parents are here in Colorado. If you’re listening, I’m sorry for your loss. But I just have to ask a straight-up question. Why is your son there in the first place? Why? Because here’s the simple fact of the matter. Had he not been, he’d still be alive today. So why are you there? What are you going to accomplish by being there? As I’ve said many times on air, the way my dad raised me is when things like this happen, you go the other direction. Why would you want to be in the middle of that? And to me, common sense says, I don’t want to be. I am going to go the other direction. I don’t need to be where trouble is. There’s enough trouble there already. I don’t need to be there. So why are you there? I asked the same question about Rene Good. Why are you there? Again, I’m going to talk about the guns, the extra magazines and so on here in a moment with this particular gentleman. There’s big debate even among conservatives right now on the Second Amendment, his right to do so. I’ll get into that and I’ll cover that next. And I’ll do the ICE agent end of things, agents plural at the end. But the first question I always have, when something like this happened, the first thing I thought of when I saw this news and I had to look some of this up while I was actually at the auction, I heard the news and so on. And here’s the other thing. This is just how things work, unfortunately, for the folks in Minnesota and unfortunately for this gentleman that died. I can tell you this much. Did that make big news at the auction and were people running around talking about it? No. No. I’m sorry to say, outside of Minnesota, no one cares. And again, I feel bad for this particular individual and his family because they’re going to be affected by his decisions, and they’re dumb decisions. I’ll say it straight up, dumb decisions. Now, I know others are going to come back and say he should have his right to do whatever he wants to. We live in America. It should be peaceful. He should not have to worry about anything along these lines, so on and so forth. Well, you know what? I don’t have to worry about any of that ever because I don’t go. That’s my answer. I never have any fear of any of this for my safety or whatever, because guess what? I’m going the other direction. I’m not going to be involved in that. And my advice to anybody that wants to stay safe is go the other direction. Why are you there? Now, I’m going to come back and talk about him having a gun next, because to me, that even changes things up more than what it would otherwise. And there’s now some Antifa knuckleheads out there calling for a lot of individuals. It’s funny. The Antifa guy calling for everybody to raise up arms against ICE can’t own one. What does that tell you? What a bozo this guy is. Literally, what a bozo. He wants everybody else to raise up arms against ICE, but he’s got felonies, so he can’t own one because he’s a real stellar individual, upstanding citizen, mind you. So this is, and I’m going to remind everybody. parents of this individual included, this is all of the left’s doing. It’s on purpose. This is exactly what they want. And I’ve said it a million times. If I’ve said it once, they don’t care about people and who get injured or killed at the end of the day. As long as their cause is moved forward, that’s all they care about. They don’t care about people at all. Never have, never will. Those of you that are on the left, mark my words on that. They don’t care about you one bit. You could be like this gentleman and die for the cause, and guess what? They don’t care. In fact, they’ll just jump on that and go to the next cause and walk all over your dead body in doing so because they don’t care. That I do know for a fact. So that’s the one thing that I want our side to remember in all of what’s going on right now is this is by design from the left. They are purposely doing these things, which I’ll talk about ICE in a few minutes. But this is by design. This is exactly what they’re doing. They’re getting what they want. And in some ways, we’re helping to feed that, which, again, I’ll talk about that here in a few minutes. All right. We have got a brand new sponsor joining us. And some of you are really going to enjoy the fact that This particular gentleman has now joined us. Mike Jansen is his name. And it’s a plumbing company, which we have needed now for quite some time. It’s Plumberoos, based off of a kangaroo. It’s got a kangaroo logo. Plumberoos, and it’s P-L-U-M-B-E-R-O-O-S, plumberoos.com. And I talked to the owner the other day, and they don’t run anybody on commission. Everything is done on a straight up and up basis. They come into your home, look at what’s needed. There is a trip charge, of course, which a lot of these individuals, these companies have to do. But in this case, if you get work done, they apply that trip charge towards whatever the work is. that’s going to be needed. So it’s a great plumbing company. I’ve done an interview with them. Great individuals. You’re going to hear them on with us on air on a one-on-one basis in the not-too-distant future. I think even next Monday, he’s going to join me, Mike will. But great company. If you’re looking for plumbing, you’ve got any needs at all along those lines, all licensed, ready to go, all of that, several different trucks. They can run into the entire metro area, basically from Castle Rock all the way up towards the North Denver, end of things, Thornton, and so on. So if you need anything plumbing-wise, they’re the place to call 720-219-3908.
SPEAKER 04 :

All right, and if you’re looking for a great doctor that thinks like us and wants to take care of you and your health, look no further than Dr. Scott, 303-663-6990.
SPEAKER 07 :
What if you could get over 110 lab biomarkers tested, just like Dr. Mark Hyman advertises, but for a fraction of the cost and with a doctor who actually explains the results? At Castle Rock Regenerative Health, Dr. Scott Faulkner has recreated this powerful biomarker test panel at a substantial savings. We have a special price for both men and women. Just $689. That’s a savings of over $2,500 over the standard price. And here’s the difference. With Hyman, you get numbers on a page. With Castle Rock Regenerative Health, you get Dr. Faulkner and his team walking you through every result, showing what’s off and creating a personalized plan to fix it. What’s even better, you don’t even have to be a concierge patient to get this pricing. This is open to everyone. Think about it. Most people’s deductible is higher than this special price. And your regular doctor, if he could get approved by your insurance, would never order this many tests, let alone know what to do with them. Call 303-663-6990 today or visit CastleRockRegenerativeHealth.com. That’s 303-669-6990. Take control of your health at Castle Rock Regenerative Health.

SPEAKER 06 :
The best export we have is common sense. You’re listening to Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 09 :
All right, and we are back. talking about how, you know, he shouldn’t be criticized for bringing a gun here. Well, not so fast. And yes, I’m a huge, you know, Second Amendment believer. Absolutely. Absolutely. Now, me personally, and I get it, I’m different. I mean, personally, I wouldn’t be there, period. You wouldn’t catch me anywhere near something like this going on. I’m going completely the other direction. If I know there’s something going on like this, even anywhere close to a city, I’m not there. I’m not going to be anywhere to be found. All that being said, now you have to ask the question, okay, why is he bringing a gun and extra magazines to a protest? What’s his plan? Now, there’s folks on the left talking about how ICE planted the gun and so on. Folks, I don’t believe that at all. I’m not saying ICE is perfect here. I’ll talk about that in my next segment, but I don’t believe that. And I also don’t believe this guy’s completely innocent. His folks will make it sound like he’s a choir boy. He’s not. Trust me, he’s not. He’s there to agitate, was loaded up, gunned up, if you would, to do the same thing. And now you’ve got to start asking the question, what was his real motives in being there, and who is he really at the end of the day? Some of this we’ll keep finding. Charlie’s always quick to remind me that, you know, we can’t say a lot about certain things until more stuff unfolds, and trust me, it will. And I don’t know where this story’s going to go. I will say this, and I think I’m going to be pretty accurate in this, this guy was no choir boy. This guy was no quote-unquote peaceful protester there just to lend a hand to the other protesters. Yeah, no, you’re not going to sell me on that one either. He’s not that. What was his ulterior motive? Folks, I don’t know. He’s dead. We’ll never know. Now, some of his friends and others that are close to him, you might find some of this out as time goes by. But right now, we don’t know. What I do know is I wouldn’t, in this case, even if I was going to attend something like this, would I be caught dead with a gun in a loaded magazine? No, I wouldn’t. No, I wouldn’t. It’s almost like, what are you trying to prove here? What’s the whole end goal here with what you’re doing? And I, again, I don’t know in this particular context. Pretty? Is that his name? Alex Pretty? Am I saying the last name correctly, Charlie? I think so. Pretty? I mean, I don’t know what Alex’s real motives were here, but I can tell you this much. Even the way Alex was dressed, which, by the way, is a lot different than the picture the press is floating around as to, you know, his choir boy image. He didn’t look like a choir boy at this event. I’ll tell you that again. No one’s talked about that even on our side. Look at how he’s dressed. Was he dressed for your typical, you know, did he look like a typical protester? No, he did not. Not at all. And this is where I’ll be careful. I’m going to come back and talk about ICE in a moment, and I’ll be careful because I don’t know all of the inner workings and what was going on here and what they may have known about this individual prior to this event. And I’m always quick to make sure I say that, you know, cover my bases here because I don’t know. Somebody also just texted me. A good friend said he was wearing a holster as well. Yeah, this is somebody that’s handled a weapon prior. I mean, again, he’s not a choir. By the way, I’m not saying because you own a gun and you have a holster that you’re not a choir boy. But the news and his folks are making it seem like this guy wouldn’t hurt a flea. Not so fast. Not true. Not true. So I want to make sure that I’m very clear on that, that, you know, what was this particular person’s motive? I think it’s safe to say to disrupt. You wouldn’t be at the protest in the first place if you weren’t there to disrupt. Now, beyond the disruption, given the fact you’re carrying a gun and two magazines, what’s the ultimate goal here? Could be more than disrupting. I don’t know. I don’t know. Now, do we know all of his real motives? I doubt you could say that, and this is where I struggle a little bit even with Kristi Noem. I mean, can you know all of his motives this soon? I highly doubt it. Now, again, to give a little bit of grace, I’m not inside of DHS. I’m not inside of ICE. I don’t know the things that they know. They probably have profiles on a lot of these individuals that go to these particular events. I’m sure this isn’t the first event he’s ever been to, and I’m sure there’s the ability for them to see who they’re up against. But let’s not forget that. So those that are out there that are really quick to judge ICE— Let’s remember that they have lots of information, Department of Homeland Security does on a lot of different individuals, would be bad guys, quote unquote, that may very well show up to this type of an event and keep your – I’m sure they have – Daily discussions on, you know, look for these types of individuals. They’re the ones that are not only here to agitate, but they could be very well armed and so on and so forth. And, again, I’m not inside of, again, DHS or ICE. I don’t know these things to be exactly true. But you have to assume that what I just said is most likely the way it works. And those of you that may have experience with this, maybe you’re an ex-agent or something, maybe you could fill me in on this. But, you know, any business – Any business where you’ve got something that’s at high stakes, you have meetings. You go over things. I mean, I used to have meetings. We were just fixing cars, and we had meetings. What’s our day going to look like? How are we going to strategize this day? What things need to go out first? What should we be looking for? Blah, blah, blah. I mean, every business that’s running efficiently does those things. It’s how we get things done. So I’ve got to believe ICE is no different. They’re having a little get-together in the mornings talking about what the day might look like and who they might be on alert for, and this particular person could very well be targeting them for various reasons and so on and so forth. You have to believe they have those conversations, folks. This is something, by the way, that’s not mentioned in the press because they don’t want you to know this. They want to keep that out because if this particular person, if Alex ends up being one of those, well, then that kills their narrative. as just being some innocent bystander that got killed. Now, I’m going to go as far as to say this. I don’t think he was an innocent bystander. Should he have been killed? I’ll talk about that when I come back this next segment. But I don’t know his background. I don’t know what ICE knew about him or Department of Homeland Security. I don’t know what they knew about him. I don’t know what threat he posed being at this particular event. And I’m always quick to remind everybody, don’t listen to his family. I’m sorry, don’t listen to his family. They don’t know him. They think they do, but they don’t. You know, there’s a lot of things like this to where, you know, in this case, a son can hide all sorts of things from what mom and dad might think. And yeah, mom and dad, you know, always, always, always, mom and dad always going to think that your kid’s a choir boy. When in fact, they might be the devil incarnate. So don’t ever listen to the family on this. Oh, he was a good boy. Really? You’ll hear a mom say that when the guy’s on death row because he was trafficking kids or he was dealing drugs or doing whatever. Oh, he was a good boy. He just went astray. Okay, no. Sorry, he’s not a good boy. So I’m always quick to remind everybody, don’t listen to the family at all. Zilch. To me, anytime family speaks, that’s going in one ear and out the other. I don’t listen to anything that’s said by family because they’re clueless. They don’t have the foggiest idea what’s going on. They think they do, but they always look at things with rose-colored glasses, so don’t rely on the family. But here’s what happens. That’s what the press focuses on. Oh, let’s go get an interview with the family, find out what his background’s like. That’s really going to tell you anything. You’re going to hear the best of the best of the best doing that. And that’s what’s happened. If you go out there and look at any news stories along these lines, that’s exactly what you’re going to see. Some of the first headlines you might read in an article are what I just said. I’m surprised some of the headlines don’t read, choir boys shot by ICE. I’m being mean, I know, when I say that, but trust me, some of the headlines ought to just say that. That’s how bad they are. You know, choir boys shot by ICE. No, sorry folks, not even close to being a choir boy. Not even, and then got to back up to, why is he there with a gun with two magazines on top of that? What’s his real intention? What kind of a battle is he planning on getting into is my point. So I’m going to come back now and talk about ICE, and some of you may or may not like my feelings on this end of things. Some of you probably don’t like what I’ve said up to this point. Doesn’t matter. It’s my opinion. I’m entitled to it. And I’m not a journalist. I’m a commentator. I didn’t do any journalistic stuff on this other than try to watch as much video as I could. And like I said earlier in the last segment, the video stinks. There isn’t any good video on this to determine who’s right or who’s wrong. I’m going to tell you that straight up. There is no good video. It’s all garbage. So until there’s a better video that I can look at, this one’s really tough because the video that I’ve seen so far is absolutely awful. So what will now happen is there’ll be more background run on him. What was he really there for? What’s he known to have done in the past? What’s his beliefs, et cetera? Those are some of the things that folks are now, I guarantee you, right now digging into. Cub Creek Heating and Air Conditioning. Cold weekend we just had. SPEAKER 06 :
Now back to Rush to Reason on KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 09 :
All right, some of you texting in also reminding me to remind others that, yeah, remember, these are all Antifa-organized protests. They definitely are. I’ve said that. I’ll continue to say that. This is coming right out of the left’s playbook. I believe even over the weekend or late last week, there was an ICE agent that had some sort of a confrontation, and his finger was bitten off. Yeah, I mean, giving ICE some credit here, they’re dealing with some very bad people. And like I said a moment ago, guarantee there’s some of these people that are on lists. Really watch out for so-and-so if they’re here. Watch your back sort of a thing. And I don’t want those guys’ jobs. I’ll just tell you that straight up. I don’t want their job. And I also, I’ll be the first to say that I blame a lot of this on Tim Walz, state of Minnesota, and a lot of these cities that allow this stuff to happen in the first place. Tim Walz could have had all this shut down from day one, but he’s a coward as well. And he’s a Marxist. He’s a coward and a Marxist at the same time, and he hides behind all sorts of things, but that guy is a total doofus. Total doofus. Total tool used by the left. Now, As far as this whole scenario goes and this situation and what the ICE agents did and so on, again, I wish there was better video that I could see exactly what happened so I could make a better determination of did ICE make a mistake? Did they fire too soon? Should they have waited longer? Where was the gun? Did he have access to the gun? Was his hands on the gun? These are things in the video, by the way, you can’t see, folks. We have no idea. So anybody out there quick to judge ICE on this, be careful because you can’t see everything. Now, again, would I have done what these guys did? Folks, I’m not them. I can’t say. I’m not there feeling like my life is threatened, and I’m not the person who has their life on the line. So anybody out there, by the way, that would say a direct answer is an idiot, and they’re lying because you don’t know because you’re not there. You don’t know because you’re not there. Now, again, there’ll be all sorts of investigations upon this. And did ICE overreact? Was there other things that could have been done and so on? And, folks, I don’t know. I really don’t know. I do know that I believe the first shot fired was some freshman. ICE agent, and that’s a question mark. I’ll be the first to say that’s a question mark. And again, these are things that I’ve read and heard. Don’t know all of this for a fact. I don’t have the full report. These are things I’m sure we’ll learn as time goes by. But were there mistakes made by ICE? Folks, I don’t know. I really don’t. I, as an agent, probably would have handled these things differently, but it’s hard for me to say that given the fact, you know, it’s probably not right for me to say that given the fact that I’m not them and I’m not there at that time. Bob, you’re next.
SPEAKER 11 :
Hey, John. This isn’t United States ice, but it’s the other way around. I lived on the Canadian border in my early years, and there was From New York State to Ontario, there was four entrances, and then there was one in Vermont, and I’ve been through the one in Montana. And when the Canadian immigrant customs, they’d see a Colorado plate, I always got pulled over and searched.
SPEAKER 09 :
Hmm.
SPEAKER 11 :
And they thought, oh, well, Colorado, they’re bringing firearms.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, firearms are pot.
SPEAKER 11 :
Canada’s a wilderness. Like, what are they worried about?
SPEAKER 03 :
Right.
SPEAKER 11 :
Bringing a firearm into their country, and they think I’m going to shoot a moose? But coming back across from Canada into the U.S., they just ask you if you bought anything in Canada that you should be paying tax on, and that was about it.
SPEAKER 1 :
Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER 11 :
But into Canada, every time they saw a Colorado plate, you were going to get pulled over and searched.
SPEAKER 09 :
Interesting.
SPEAKER 11 :
So, you know, these guys are doing what they’re paid to do. It’s called, you know, ICE for a reason.
SPEAKER 09 :
Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 09 :
And, you know. And by the way, for all of the dodo heads out there, Bob, and I’m probably using that term too nicely, but for all the dodo heads that are out there that want to eliminate ICE, I mean, these are people that have absolutely no clue how a country works, Bob. I mean, basically what you’re saying is you’re going to eliminate ICE, meaning we’re not going to enforce any of our immigration laws and or border control and or anything along those lines whatsoever. In other words, we’re just going to let everything be willy-nilly. I mean, Bob, these are people that are complete morons.
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, I know. I know.
SPEAKER 09 :
I know. I mean, you can’t say that. I mean, I get where they’re coming from, and I get, in some cases, their frustration. But I also go back to, in this case, they’ve created their own frustration because they’re the ones that are interfering and causing the ruckus. If they weren’t there doing that, it wouldn’t be a big deal.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, it’s just, you know, I hope Minnesota… I hope the worst for them. I hope all the businesses up there, people leave, the businesses shut down, and they’ll learn their lessons. But, you know…
SPEAKER 09 :
We’ll see. Time will tell. No, Bob, appreciate it very much. No, thank you for the words and the reminder. And yeah, folks, again, the other thing I’m always quick to caution everybody on is there’s reports out there that there’s no-knock raids of this and that, and ICE is doing this and ICE is doing that, and they’re overreaching and they’re not doing what they’re supposed to. Folks, these are liberal news agencies giving you that information. I wouldn’t believe any of that. Now, I’m not saying that isn’t happening. I don’t know for sure. If it is or it isn’t, what I’m saying is I’m not going to believe any liberal news organization giving me that information because those guys would just want you to believe that stuff. Whether it really happens or not, that’s what they want you to believe. And they’re going to create and drum up things that aren’t real because that’s what they do. That’s what the left does, folks. They’re very well known for that. That’s what they’ll do. And for them, I guess fortunately for them, they’ve got the news media in their back pocket. We don’t. Now, all that being said, I’m going to close this with ice. Man of life, you’ve got to be on your best behavior, on your guard at all times, because they of all should know what I just said. All of the cards in the deck are stacked against them. Every single one. They don’t have a single card going in their favor. It’s literally stacked against them. So as agents that are going out every morning, you would think that they would recognize some of that and think twice about some of the decisions that they make. Now, the shooting with Renee Good, 1,000% justified. Can’t say anything else about that. That ship sailed. Done deal. This one, I need more facts. Again, I’m not giving anybody a pass here. Alex, the gentleman that was killed himself, not giving him a pass either. Don’t know what he was there for. Don’t know what his intentions were. Don’t know his history. We’re going to learn more about that in the days ahead, I’m sure. And I can tell you this. There was no way that guy was a choir boy. Not even close. There were even comments, somebody texted in that there was even comments from his parents that basically said, you know, I’m not sure you really should go out there. And if you do, you know, be really careful. In other words, they probably knew he was going to get into trouble by going in the first place. And yet they’re going to tell you that he’s a choir boy. So my point with ICE, and if I were in charge of ICE, I’m not, but if I were, I would be briefing those guys every single morning on the fact that you have a label on your head already. Be very, very careful in what you do because everything you do is being scrutinized to the point where the press will lie about what you’re doing. So be careful. Now, I get it. Some of you are going to come back and say, well, then how do you win, John? How do you win? By being better than them. That’s how you win, by being better than them. And by the way, we can do that on our side. We are better than them. We have to prove it on an ongoing basis. Paul Lundberger coming up next. Live and local, back to Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 09 :
All right, we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. About 30 seconds left, and again, several of you texting in about what’s going on in Minnesota, and another text message I got a moment ago is just, you know, why do good people stay up there? Folks, that I can’t answer. They’re home, I guess. Maybe they’ve got businesses. I don’t know. I can’t answer that. I don’t know that I could. given everything that’s gone on, even with businesses and so on. I think I’d have to have a really serious second thought about, you know, why are you there? But at the end of the day, yeah, not a good situation. Hopefully the Trump administration and Holman being there now will help relieve some of this, and we’ll see what happens moving forward. Another two hours coming your way. Don’t go anywhere. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560.
