No, best week of the year because next week is Thanksgiving. There’s pretty much college football on all week. You know, you’ve got random action games and stuff happening. But you really only have like two full off days, right? Because we have Monday night football. Then we have Tuesday, Wednesday kind of off, but there’s still some college football and stuff going on. Then you’ve got Thursday. Then you’ve got Friday, which has got NFL games plus college games. Saturday, which is like rivalry weekend in college football. Then you have Sunday. Dave Taub, he is the special teams coordinator for the Chiefs, and he really strongly disagrees with Donald Trump. On the new kickoff rules, the way they do the kickoff now versus previous years, Trump says it sucks.

And that he says this— He trumps right. It’s no good. It’s a terrible idea. And Talb says he doesn’t have any idea what he’s talking about. And I’m going to disagree with Talb on two things. First of all, I love the old kickoffs. I thought they were way better. But secondly— Mr. Taub, I think you’re not understanding. Donald Trump is like the rest of us. He’s part of the market. He’s saying this isn’t fun to watch. And isn’t that what the market is supposed to say? Richard, what do you think?

Yeah, well, it is, Andy, and I will agree with Mr. Trump in the regards, or in President Trump, I should say, in regards to, it is, I don’t like it, although, Andy, in the NFL’s defense, It has forced more returns, and it’s forced a more exciting play with regards to the kickoff. I think you’ve already had four kickoff returns for touchdowns.

But you already had more returns when they kicked off from the 30th.

Remember that? Yeah, but Andy, again, in today’s day and age, with the safety, I mean, Andy, if we’re being honest, I think you should go back to, you know, I think the quarterbacks are protected too much these days. However, you can’t change that rule because, let’s be honest, the quarterbacks are what drive the ratings.

It’ll be interesting. Yeah, Andy, the Steelers are, well, they’re sort of what Rodgers has been the past few years, right, Andy? Kind of up and down, left, right, whatever it is. Although I don’t think he’s the problem this year, surprising in saying that. No, he’s been good. Yeah, he’s less of a concern, in my opinion, than maybe the other, I guess the defense and some of the others. I don’t think they do, Andy. I think that the Bears, they’re really rolling right now. Ben Johnson’s got Caleb Williams playing well at this point in time. I think he’s doing really well. And so I think that the Steelers are reeling. I think it’ll be a close game, Andy. But the Bears are at home, right? Yeah. Your windy city, who knows what weather it’s going to be up there in Chicago. I’ll go with the Bears at home.

I’ll take the Bears as well. Okay, next game, the Patriots are favored by six at the lowly Bengals. Is New England the only AFC team on Denver’s level at all? I mean, is the AFC finished? I mean, is it all Denver and nobody else? Or could New England possibly threaten them?
SPEAKER 16 :
I would love to say yes, Andy, but I would love to say that Denver is. I think that England’s good. I think that they’re a young team. I think Drake may. He has some, I guess, lows that are coming up, depending on what teams he plays, because they have been playing the last play schedule. However, that’s probably not this week, Andy, right? I think that the Bengals, even if Joe Burrow is able to come back next week, man, I just, which, by the way, Andy, we talked about this last week. I don’t know how if you’re the Bengals, you put Burrow back in there behind that line. I mean, again, Burrow should ask for a trade, go someplace else, whatever it might be. That dude is just not – I would not do it if I were him. Granted, I think he’s a competitor, and so he probably will.

I think Burrow should – forget trade. He should cross the border into any other city and beg for asylum.
SPEAKER 16 :
You know, Andy, he should be in the Browns maybe better than this. Well, then they were probably getting carried away. But yeah, I mean, that poor guy’s going to put himself out for it. So Flacco’s going to play. I think that they kind of already ruled that to be the case. And I think the Patriots are just on one. Now, I will say this, Andy. Drake May, he hasn’t quite played in a lot of elements yet, and so I don’t know what the forecast is going to be in Nasty Old Group Natty. That could be the kind of, I guess, equalizer, but I’m going to go with the Patriots.

Okay, let’s zip through a bunch of these really quick. They’re pretty easy. Giants are on the road to the Lions. Lions favored by 10. After falling apart against Philly, can the Lions fix their issues and blow out New York?

I don’t know if – did you hear of Jackson-Darcy playing, Andy? Who cares? Who cares? Seriously. Fair enough. Yeah, the Lions need to get back on track, although I think they’re a flawed team for a variety – mainly injuries, Andy. Yeah. G.C. LaPorta’s out for the rest of the year now. That’s what it is. It’s injuries. It’s injuries. But yeah, the Giants just aren’t very good. So I’ll go with the Giants. Okay, next game.

Next game, the Vikings are at my Packers. Packers favored by six for some reason. Remember when these two teams mattered?

Neither do I. Well, Andy, unfortunately for you, your Packers still do matter because I still think they’ll sneak into the… I still do think that they’ll sneak into the playoffs there. The Vikings, Andy, are a match in the sense that I think JJ McCarthy is, well, sort of what a lot of us maybe thought he was. And as Walt would say, I think he needs to meditate a little bit more in figuring out how to not throw the ball to the other team. But I digress. Yeah, I think your Packers will win mainly, Andy, because the Vikings just aren’t very good.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, this is just two bad teams going nowhere. I’ll take the Packers. They’re the home team. Next game, the Seahawks, 13.5 favorites over the Titans. After losing in a great game against the Rams, the Seahawks look to keep pace. What do you think?
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, Andy, although Sam Darnold looked a little bit more human than he has been, I think that will be an interesting thing to watch the rest of the year as he plays against better teams. But the Titans are not one of them, Andy.

No, they’re terrible.

They are not cut out for that. So, yeah, I’m going to go, like you said, we probably don’t have to spend too much time. There’s the Titans. I feel for them. I know they’ve got to get a new coach at the end of the year. They’re competing for that first overall pick again.

Richard, let me ask you, has any team ever been so opposite the name of their team? The Titans. Exactly.

Maybe the Giants, Andy, because the Giants aren’t very good. That’s a good point.

They should play each other. The Giants and the Titans playing, that’d be good. Okay, we’ll take the Seahawks next game. The Colts are at the Chiefs. Chiefs favored by three and a half. Okay, why does Vegas keep favoring this average KC team?

Well, because they see what I see, Andy, which is they are just slightly off this year. And I think that No team wants to see them put it together because – I’ll just say it, Andy. Based on how I think the season may finish, the Chiefs may get in as the seventh seed. The Broncos potentially end up as the two seed. You’re then playing Kansas City for the third time at home, and you don’t want that. Even though this past week, yes, you got them, and it was a great game, and you figured it out. Andy, the Chiefs are just – they’re like – In all those movies you watch and review, right, the villain’s not dead until you see him dead, right? You know, it’s like the villain that keeps climbing back up out of the abyss. Okay, you know, I…

Oh, yeah, I think they’re done. I think there are a bunch of teams that are far too good for them. I think the next time the Broncos play them, they beat them worse.

Andy, I disagree there because we play them on Christmas Day, short week. I doubt that’s going to happen. I think, again, until they have no chance, 0% chance to make the playoffs, they have been eliminated. The thinking witch is going to exist, and the witch is Patrick Mahomes. So I will be taking the Chiefs over the Colts. Also, Andy, because I don’t think the Colts, are that good. I think they will be coming back to reality. I think this is a close game, but I think the Chiefs get it.

I’m not in love with either team. I’m going to take the Colts, just because I like them more than the Chiefs. But honestly, I think the AFC, there’s only two teams. And really, there’s only one team, and that’s Denver, and one possible team, New England, we’ll see. The next game is the Jets are at the Ravens. It’s 13.5 points spread. It’s another blowout. Can we just call this one Ravens?
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, Andy, the Jets. Well, okay, here’s a question. Do the Ravens cover or do the Jets keep it close? I’ll say they cover. They blow them out. Oh, wow. And the Ravens, Andy, have possibly the easiest remaining schedule, and so they should end up winning the AFC North. However, Andy, not a team I’m very scared of in the playoffs.
SPEAKER 14 :
I’ll just say that. No, not at all. Not with that defense. Are you kidding me? The next team, the Browns are at the Raiders. Raiders are favored by four. Okay, here we go. Two college teams get to play a pro game. I think that’s pretty fun. Will some fans get to play, too?
SPEAKER 16 :
Andy, does Shador, with a full week of practice with the ones, have a better showing than he did last week? Yes.
SPEAKER 14 :
I think he has a better showing. I don’t know if it matters. I mean, these are two garbage teams.
SPEAKER 16 :
I think it does because the Raiders are awful. Oh, they are. And if you’re going to be making your first start, this is the week to be making it because the Raiders are just terrible. And the Browns should go in there. And with that defense, Andy, which, by the way, I will say this, Miles Garrett should win defensive player of the year. Well, if only because of what he goes through being on that team. Well, he has to play defense against his own defense. But he is just – he’s on an insane tear right now, Andy. Yep, I agree. And I don’t care what the Browns record is. That guy is just so outlandishly good that they should. But, yeah, honestly, the only reason – I’m going to say Cleveland here, Andy, because – No, I am too. Cleveland’s defense is really, really good, and the Raiders are just not very good.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, that’s just it. Cleveland has at least half the side of the ball. The Raiders have none. I’m taking rounds. Okay, here we go. The Jaguars are favored by three at the Cardinals. Now, with only 11 TDs and eight interceptions, can we finally call Trevor Lawrence a complete bust? I’m not saying he’s not a good enough starting quarterback. He is. But he was the number one pick. So, I think, given that, I think he’s a bust. A complete bust, Andy? Well, for being the number one pick. Because, let’s face it, I think he is doomed to being a middle-of-the-road starting quarterback. Not bad, but just middle-of-the-road.
SPEAKER 16 :
I mean, come on, 11 touchdowns, 8 interceptions. Is that because of him or the coaching, the team, and stuff that’s around him? No, that’s fair. That’s fair.
SPEAKER 14 :
He’s not in a good situation. I agree.

He’s not. So, Andy, for example, if you were to put Trevor Lawrence in Minnesota with Kevin O’Connell, who I think is a really good offensive coach, I actually think they get the same out of him that they got Sam Darnold. I think Trevor Lawrence is Sam Darnold. Let me put it that way.

I think if Trevor Lawrence were the quarterback for the Broncos, they might be undefeated. And I’m not ripping on your quarterback. I think he’s terrific. I just think he’s very young still and learning the ropes.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, and I think, Andy, to your point, I think that Bo Nix has his ceiling. I think Trevor Lawrence has a higher ceiling but a lower floor. And obviously you’re seeing that. So with that thing, Andy, the Cardinals are a disaster. I think they’re going to clean house at least that cornerback, maybe not necessarily a coach. just because that team’s not very good. But yeah, the Jags should win here, Andy, and really shouldn’t be close.

Yeah, I agree. Don’t be surprised if some of the Cardinals fans get in the game. Okay, here we go. The Eagles are favored by three and a half of the Cowboys, only three and a half. Have the Eagles added enough to their defense to be a threat again in the NFC?

They’re really good, Andy, but I’m going to go back to the Cowboys, and obviously we played their offense. The Cowboys have pissed up a little bit i guess surprisingly at the deadline they they got you know they reinforced their defensive line a little bit there which i guess kudos um not enough to make the playoff any but i’m gonna go with the upset here i’m gonna go with the cowboys at home only because i just again i’m not a believer in the eagles andy i just think that they’re a team lacking and they’re just not there for me yet no i agree but i i’m going with the eagles because of the cowboys defense

Yeah, they’re just picking the home team. I’m going to go with you, the Falcons, but I hate both teams. They’re just terrible. Next game, the Buccaneers, who are really sliding. They’re on the road at the Rams, who are favored by seven. If the Rams win big, are they the NFC leader?

I think they should be the NFC leader no matter what, Andy. And I actually think the Buccaneers should be talked about more. I just think they’ve had a really difficult schedule and they’ve had kind of this middle section that has been difficult. They finished the year. I think they’ll finish the year a lot better. But the Rams are just really good. Matthew Stafford is having arguably, again, we talked about this last week. MVP. I mean, that dude’s like almost 50, it feels like. Arguably one of the greatest seasons of his career. So with that being said, Sunday night football, whatever it is, the Rams are going to win this one. And it may be a blowout. I think Baker may keep it close for a little bit, Andy. But the Rams will win.

Yeah, I think the Rams win, and I’ll say this. I think the Rams are the team. If there was one team I think could give the Broncos a really good game, I would say it’s the Rams. Next game, last game. The Panthers are on the road to the Niners. Now, the Niners are favored by seven, but with Tampa about to lose again, the Panthers are actually playing for a playoff spot. Could they upset San Fran?

They could, Andy. I don’t know if they do, because Purdy’s back again. Yeah. But the Niners… I think they will eventually come back to kind of reality with their injuries and everything else. But the Panthers are just kind of a young, feisty team. I’m going to take the Niners here, Andy. I don’t know if they cover just because I think that, again, the Panthers are that type of a team. They’re going to play you tough. Whether they fully get there or not, I think that remains to be seen, and they’re probably a year away. But I think this is a tough game, but the Niners get it at home.

I was just thinking today, Al, how do people find happiness in their retirement? You must have some pretty neat stories about the way that people have gone into retirement. What are some of those?

Well, I do. We can’t squeeze them into this short time, but one of the things I have found is that people who find their purpose in retirement experience a much more fulfilling and happy retirement, a way to give back. It might be volunteering. It might be going on mission trips. It might be tutoring children, things of that nature.

What are some ways that people can prepare for that, Al? How do people get ready for that retirement when they’re earlier on before they approach that?
SPEAKER 32 :
Well, I think what people need to do is think in terms of what they really enjoy doing. A gentleman I had on my show a week or so ago has been heavily involved in Gideon’s International, where he gives away Bibles to not only hotels, which is what they’re thought of, but also to high school students and so forth. So by getting involved in these things before retirement, it is a smooth transition then going into retirement. because then you can devote more time to what it is you love.
