Join Andy Pate as he fills in for John Rush on this episode of Rush to Reason, where the team is buzzing with excitement over the Thanksgiving week festivities. Joined by Tanner Cole and Richard Rush, the episode delves into America’s love for Thanksgiving football, indulging in the week’s great games, and perhaps some turkey. From the history of watching football at Thanksgiving and how it became a staple in American culture to personal anecdotes about family traditions, there’s a rich tapestry of stories and laughter.
SPEAKER 04 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 08 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 14 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 08 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did.
SPEAKER 09 :
Get a job, sir. You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 13 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life. That there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 04 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 07 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush, presented by Cub Creek Heating and Air Conditioning.
SPEAKER 21 :
Actually, it’s Andy Pate, party of choice.
SPEAKER 11 :
And welcome to our number two here on Rush to Reason, KLZ 560. I’m Andy Pate filling in for John Rush, joined by Tanner Cole. And on the line, we’ve got somebody who is even more man than you, Tanner. More man than you. That is Richard Rush. Richard, how you doing, sir?
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, I am well, Andy. It is, like we talked about on Friday, the greatest week, I think, of the year. Maybe second to the NFL draft, Andy, because I know you and I enjoy that one. But just in pure football and food indulgence, what’s more American than this week?
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, I agree. This week is wonderful. I’m going to go with the NFL draft because that’s the one week when everyone’s a winner. Okay, I do like that. But, Richard, what are your plans for Thanksgiving? Doing the turkey?
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, Andy, doing the turkey and honestly just laying low and watching lots of football. I finally got the boys on the football train, and so they are all about it, so we should have it on nonstop in the house. Andy, here’s a little story for you. Yeah. My wife, before we got married, her and her family, they would watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade, and then they would watch the dog show.
SPEAKER 1 :
Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, when I kind of came along, I realized that the dog show was on and I was like, what’s going on here? There’s no football. We had the dog shows on. I’m like, but it’s a dog show. They’re just dogs. And so we had some discussions and finally we just realized that football’s better, Andy. Did you inform them that they are being un-American?
SPEAKER 11 :
Because I would have.
SPEAKER 14 :
Andy, I inform them they were being un-American, they were being unloving of the Lord our God because he created football and we should respect his creations. And yes, dogs are too. But you know, that’s beside the point, Andy.
SPEAKER 12 :
No, that’s totally reasonable.
SPEAKER 14 :
I’m just saying. That’s totally reasonable. One day a year do we get the back-to-back-to-back special that is Thanksgiving week in football.
SPEAKER 11 :
Exactly.
SPEAKER 14 :
For the NFL especially.
SPEAKER 11 :
And that’s when you look at your wife and say, why do you hate God? He made this.
SPEAKER 14 :
He made this for you. That’s why I tell my father, I’m like, I don’t know why you just don’t love the Lord more because you would be watching football more often.
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, okay, I’ll tell you what. We have a lot of games, so we’ve got to pile through them. It’s going to take a couple segments. Are you ready, Richard?
SPEAKER 14 :
Let’s roll, Andy. You have to do it.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, here we go. We’re going to start off with my team. The Green Bay Packers are on the road at the Detroit Lions. Detroit is favored by three. Now we’ve got two banged up Jekyll and Hyde teams. Who shows up?
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, Andy, this is I feel like I feel like I’m going to go with more of a history one on this one. And what I mean by that is I’m going to lean Lions only because the Lions on Thanksgiving, obviously, have played on Thanksgiving for forever. But they’ve been terrible on Thanksgiving. Right, Andy? Like, that’s just the Lions M.O. is. They don’t play well in, let’s say, Barry Sanders or whatever it is. But in this case, Andy, I actually think it’s a good game. The NFL’s done a phenomenal job. You give a divisional game, a storied matchup as the Packers and the Lions. And like you said, Andy, this year, two teams that are banged up and don’t know which way is up half the time, it feels like. And so I’m going to go with the Lions here, Andy, but obviously this is your team. Are you going to jump back on the bandwagon with them after a good performance against those Vikings?
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, honestly, no. I’m going to pick the Lions. This is one where, look, they’re both Jekyll and Hyde. I’m going to take the home team. It’s that simple. I don’t trust either of these teams.
SPEAKER 14 :
Do you think it’s a high scoring or low scoring, Andy?
SPEAKER 11 :
I think it’s going to be medium, but either team could win by 20. These two teams, man, I got no idea. In fact, I think all the players on both these teams go home and their wives don’t know them every week. They have no idea. Who are you?
SPEAKER 14 :
Andy, outside of the team that played, one of the teams that played last night in the Rams, I don’t know in the NFL this year if we know what these teams are or who these teams are.
SPEAKER 11 :
I agree. I agree. Okay, really quick. Tanner, who do you pick?
SPEAKER 18 :
All I know is Jameer Gibbs might be the best player in football, so I’m taking the Lions.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, here we go. Let’s go to the next game, the Chiefs. They are favored by three and a half. They’re on the road with the Cowboys. Both teams had big comebacks on Sunday. By the way, Richard, you called those Cowboys. Way to go. Who keeps their momentum going in this game?
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, Andy, I’m going to go with Hart. and head in this one, mainly hard because I can’t picture Kansas City that many weeks in a row. I’m going to go with the Cowboys here, Andy. I think both overtime games for both of those teams, which will be fascinating to watch. And side note, Andy, and I know we’ve got two segments to get through all these, but the NFL could not have asked for a better afternoon game, could they, right?
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s a good one.
SPEAKER 14 :
The Cowboys, who are kind of resurgent, not all the way, but they’re exciting at least. And the Chiefs, who you know Taylor Swift’s going to be there, they’re just a ratings bonanza. And I don’t think the NFL could have scripted it. Andy, we may hit 50 million people watching just that game.
SPEAKER 11 :
Just so you know, with the latest news that came in, Tennessee Titans are asking Taylor if she’ll suit up for them. They feel she might help them out. Yeah, I’m just saying. They’re so terrible. Go ahead.
SPEAKER 14 :
But, yes, I’m going to go. I’m with you. So I think it will be an exciting game. Honestly, again, I saw what you can do. Although the Cowboys defense decided to show up last night against the NF Eagles offense. Yeah. You know, I’m going to take the home team here, Andy. Okay. How about them Cowboys? I think the Cowboys could get up for Thanksgiving games at times. Yeah, so we’ll see. But I could very well see the Chiefs kind of regaining their footing. But we’ll see.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, Tanner, who do you take?
SPEAKER 18 :
It was the first weekend in two decades with four overtime games, which was pretty cool to see. I’m going to take the Chiefs just because I think they’re better coached, better quarterback, better defense.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, I’ll take the Chiefs too. Next game, Bengals, who actually played hard this last week against New England. Good for them. They’re playing at the Ravens. Ravens favored by seven. Okay, the Bengals were tougher than expected against New England, Richard. Can they surprise the Ravens?
SPEAKER 14 :
You know, Andy, I think they can because I think the Ravens, again, we’re going to talk about Jekyll and Hyde teams, Andy. That team, again, I think they’re going to run the table. We’ll see here. But they are just so all over the place. I mean, I don’t trust that team. They struggled this past weekend with, again, I forgot who they played, but they struggled this past weekend. So, Andy, I’m going to go with, I’m actually going to go with the upset here because I’m putting my faith and hopes in Joe Burrow. Granted, I know that this could go terribly wrong. And I think the Ravens have as good of a likelihood of beating them by 10 to 14 as they do of the Bengals winning. But I’m going to just go because I like Joey B and I don’t like the Ravens. So I’ll go with the Bengals on the road here and Joey Burrows returns. Okay, Tanner.
SPEAKER 18 :
Is he for sure playing, Richard? Pretty sure.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, they basically held him out yesterday so he could play this week.
SPEAKER 18 :
I don’t even know why you’d put them in, just because they only have three wins. However, I agree. I don’t think the Ravens are that explosive. The Bengals stay in enough games. With Joe Burrow back, I think there’s a good chance. I’m going to take the Ravens, but I don’t think it’ll be seven points.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, I’m going to take the Ravens as well, but I don’t like either team in this one. So, next game. Hey, we’ve got two 8-3 teams. The Chicago Bears are on the road at the Eagles. Eagles, after that… dud they put out, are actually favored by seven. Should the Eagles be favored by this much, Richard? Where’s the offense? Richard, really quick. Richard, I’m sorry. I’ve got to interrupt. To win by seven, don’t you have to score at least seven points?
SPEAKER 14 :
Andy, here’s a question for you.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 14 :
Are we seeing in that coaching, in that playing, are we seeing just a fracture of a locker room with the Eagles? Because that team just does not look like any of them are on the same page. I don’t care if you’re a coach or a player.
SPEAKER 11 :
I’m going to say it’s coaching leading to the fracture. I think they are a terribly coached team, and I think they’re fracturing because of it. That’s what I think.
SPEAKER 14 :
They just looked terrible. Andy, I’m going to just kind of keep going with the upsets here, and maybe you’ll go with me. While I think the Eagles have a better shot of winning, I’m just going to go with maybe a 3-10 chance that the Bears will, and I’ll take the Bears here because I like what I’ve seen from the Bears. They showed some resilience this past week. We’ll see what the weather’s like there in Philadelphia. A Friday game, kind of a funky time where not a lot of these players are used to it. And I just don’t trust the Eagles and the Bears team to have a little bit of a mojo right now. So I’ll go with the Bears. Okay, Tanner, go.
SPEAKER 18 :
I like the Bears as well. I don’t know if they’ll win, but six and a half, seven points is definitely too big. Bears have won four straight. Grant, some of them have been a little shaky, but they find a way to win. Caleb Willem seems to be a real deal.
SPEAKER 11 :
I actually think the Bears are the better team, but I’m going to pick the Eagles because I think they were so humiliated. A lot of times coming off a humiliation, you play better the next game. I’m betting on that. Okay, guys, we’ve got a lot of games. We’ve got to speed her up here. Here we go. The 49ers are favored by six at the Browns. Richard, can she do her? Keep a good thing going.
SPEAKER 14 :
I think he keeps it close, Andy. Cleveland’s defense is gnarly. And, yeah, Shador looked – well, I mean, he didn’t look great, but I also don’t think he looked as bad as Dylan Gabriel, so there’s that. True. I’m going to go with the Niners here, Andy. As much as I like Shador, and I actually think he’ll play well against them, I just think that the Niners are a more complete team than the Browns, but I think it’ll be a closer game than most people think. I agree. Tanner?
SPEAKER 18 :
I am taking the Niners, even though some of their best players are out. Watching that Browns game was hard to watch. I know Shador had a couple great plays, but I’m still going to take the Niners.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, we’re all taking the Niners. Next game, Jaguars favored by 6.5 over the Titans. Could the Titans pull an upset? The Jags just don’t look that good, Richard.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, Andy, again, Jekyll and Hyde, man, those Jaguars, I mean, they figured it out, but it took them a while this past week. So, yeah, Andy, I guess I’m going to go – I can’t stick in this team just because I can’t pick the Titans. I just can’t do it. I’ll go with the Jaguars and, again, Andy, mainly it’s because the Titans are just not very good. While I think Cam Ward has showed promise this year, the Titans just overall aren’t a very good team.
SPEAKER 11 :
I will pick Jekyll and Hyde against Hyde and Hyde, and I will also take the Jaguars. Go ahead, Tanner.
SPEAKER 18 :
I’ll take the Jags as well. Trevor Lawrence is just not that great, but they find a way to win 7-4 somehow.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, let’s fly through these next two. The Texans are on the road at the Colts, who are favored by 3.5. After getting run over by KC down the stretch, are the Colts about to implode, Richard?
SPEAKER 14 :
I don’t know about implode, Andy. The Colts are a different team at home than they are on the road. But I like the way the Texans’ defense is playing, Andy. I don’t know what the spread is. I’m going to go with the Texans here on the road. It may be coming in as an upset, the Colts, I think, just because I like the Texans’ makeup right now, and I think C.J. Stroud may be back. We’ll see.
SPEAKER 18 :
Tanner. The Texans still play the Colts last game of the season this year, so this is a big game. The Texans can win. They’re only a game behind in the division. I just think the Colts are still too good, so I’m going to take the Colts.
SPEAKER 11 :
And I’ll take the Colts. Next game, the Saints are on the road at the Dolphins, who are favored by six. Can Miami keep building momentum against the lowly Saints? Richard.
SPEAKER 14 :
I think they can because the Saints are just awful. There’s no other way to say it. They are not very good. I’ll go the Dolphins here, especially at home.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, Tanner. Let’s do one more game before break. Here we go. The Falcons are favored by 2.5 on the road at the Jets. Do the Jets still have a shot at the top pick?
SPEAKER 14 :
No, because I think they’re going to be too competitive and too good, Andy. I still think the Titans are on the way to that one. They’re on the clock. Yeah, I think they’re getting closer. But I’m going to go with the Jets here. I don’t know. Maybe we’ll just throw one at the dartboard. Okay, Tanner, go.
SPEAKER 18 :
Tyrod Taylor threw for 222. That’s more than I feel like Fields had all year, it seems. I do think the Jets will keep it competitive. I don’t know. I just think the Falcons have too many weapons on both sides of the ball to lose.
SPEAKER 11 :
All right, I’m going to take the Falcons as well. Let’s take a break right now. We’ll be right back here doing NFL picks. Up next is Paul Lundberger. He is an insurance agent you can trust for great prices from nine different options. Call Paul at 303-662-0789.

What if you could get over 110 lab biomarkers tested, just like Dr. Mark Hyman advertises, but for a fraction of the cost, and with a doctor who actually explains the results? At Castle Rock Regenerative Health, Dr. Scott Faulkner has recreated this powerful biomarker test panel at a substantial savings. For the month of November, we have a special price for both men and women. just $689. That’s a savings of over $2,500 over the standard price. And here’s the difference. With Hyman, you get numbers on a page. With Castle Rock Regenerative Health, you get Dr. Faulkner and his team walking you through every result, showing what’s off and creating a personalized plan to fix it. What’s even better, you don’t even have to be a concierge patient to get this pricing. This is open to everyone. Think about it. Most people’s deductible is higher than this special price. And your regular doctor, if he could get approved by your insurance, would never order this many tests, let alone know what to do with them. Call 303-663-6990 today or visit CastleRockRegenerativeHealth.com. That’s 303-669-6990. Take control of your health at Castle Rock Regenerative Health.
SPEAKER 18 :
Were you concerned about potentially being dropped by your insurance? And how did RoofMax ease those concerns?
SPEAKER 05 :
I was kind of concerned that my insurance company that I had previously was going to either cancel me or increase my premium. When Dave came over and he said, Gil, he said, your roof looks good. I will give you a bid. And he said, I can give you a warranty of five years. And I said, whoa, that’s great.
SPEAKER 18 :
Would you recommend RoofMax to friends, family, or neighbors? And why?
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, because they were very prompt in getting the job done. They were very efficient in the time, maybe three days to four days max to get everything, paperwork, come and inspect my roof and complete the job. The price was very good. I was very impressed with the appearance of our roof after it was completed. So yes, absolutely, I would recommend RoofMax and especially Dave Hart.
SPEAKER 11 :
work with roof savers today by going to klz radio.com putting reason into your afternoon drive this is john rush and welcome back to rush reason denver’s afternoon rush klz 560 okay going back to nfl picks we gotta fly here richard The Cardinals are at the Buccaneers. Bucs are favored by 2.5. Both teams in collapse. Who falls faster on Sunday?
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, Andy, with this one, I don’t think Baker’s going to play. So the question is, can Teddy Bridgewater eke one out? And I just don’t think the Cardinals are good. Granted, they had an exciting matchup this past week against the Jags. I’m going to go with the Bucs here, Andy. I just think, again, I like their team as a whole, and I think Teddy Bridgewater can kind of pull them out one, which I hope they do because they still have a chance to win that division, and they should, but they can’t falter much down the stretch. Okay, Tanner.
SPEAKER 18 :
I agree. Both teams probably with an old backup quarterback. The Bucs still have so much talent. If they could just get all their receivers playing, they’d be great, but it doesn’t happen.
SPEAKER 11 :
I’ll take the Bucs as well. The only thing is we all know no one’s going to watch that game. Next game, the Rams are favored by 10 at the Panthers. Will the NFC’s best team shut down Carolina’s playoff buzz?
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, will they shut it down? Well, I still think they’ve got a shot in again because that division is so bad, as we just kind of talked about.
SPEAKER 12 :
Right.
SPEAKER 14 :
The Rams are just so good. I’m going to say the Rams will win just because I think they’re really, really good right now. And again, I think they’re the class of the NFL. I know you’ll say my Broncos, but we’ll hold off on that.
SPEAKER 11 :
No, I actually think the Broncos are second to the Rams. I agree.
SPEAKER 14 :
They are just so good right now, and Stafford is playing really well. Now, Graham, and why the NFL is great, because everything comes down to one game, right? If you don’t have a good game, then it doesn’t matter what you did to get there. But in this case, I’ll go with the Rams.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, Tanner.
SPEAKER 18 :
I’m going to the Rams as well. They looked unbelievable last night. I thought Devontae Adams maybe had lost a step in New York, but he’s still that guy.
SPEAKER 11 :
He’s still got it. I’m going to take the Rams as well. The Vikings, boy, they looked awful yesterday. They’re on the road at the Seahawks. Seahawks favored by 8.5. Is this game already over before it starts, Richard?
SPEAKER 14 :
Andy, that spread should probably be as bad as J.J. McCarthy is. I don’t even know who the— the backup for the Vikings is and and while I think that the Seahawks are coming back to earth a little bit and granted Jackson Smith and Jigba is having a insane year as as me and that guy’s just playing ridiculously well well yeah this is over I still don’t necessarily believe in the Seahawks to go very far just because of Sam Darnold but yeah he shouldn’t have any issues with this one I agree go ahead Tanner
SPEAKER 18 :
The line’s already gone up another two points to ten and a half. The Vikings’ backup since Wentz is out is Max Brosmer, and I’ve never heard of him, so I think it’s going to be some easy work for Seattle as long as they don’t turn the ball over.
SPEAKER 11 :
I agree. Okay, next game, the Bills are favored by four at the Steelers. Whose season is about to collapse, Richard?
SPEAKER 14 :
I just think that the Bills are too… too good and want it too much, Andy? Is that a way to say it? Because I just don’t know if I can trust the Steelers. Granted, they did come back and play well. Rodgers not playing or obviously being hurt doesn’t really matter. I just don’t know, Andy. So I’ll go with the Bills. Don’t trust the Bills, right? Let’s not get a twisted here. I don’t trust them to do much, but I just think that they’re a better team this week. I agree. Tanner?
SPEAKER 18 :
I love the Bills, but I just see that Super Bowl window closing ever so much every week. I’m still going to take them, but that should be a good game.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, I’ll take the Bills, but they both are done. Next game, the Raiders are on the road at your Chargers, Tanner. Chargers favored by 9.5. Can the Chargers legally rest all 53 players? What do you think, Richard? Can they do that legally?
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, they should, Andy, because the Raiders are just awful. And Tanner should love this because, honestly, Justin Herbert should play the first half and then they should fit him because he’s the only chance for them. And, I mean, they need to win this game. And, man, Andy, the Raiders just fired Chip Kelly and fired their defensive coordinator or their special teams coach. I don’t know. They’re just firing everyone left and right. It would not shock me if Pete Carroll kind of voluntarily walked away after the news here, Andy. Raiders are just terrible. So, yeah, Chargers get a gift here.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, I went to McDonald’s before I got here, and a Raiders cheerleader made my food. It was really wonderful. Tanner, what do you think? How quick is this game over?
SPEAKER 18 :
We’re not good with big spreads, i.e. the Titans game. We’re going to win, but I don’t know about 10 points. It’s tough to watch the Raiders, and I love Chenty, so he’s the only life they have there.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, we’re all taking the Chargers. Really quick here. The Broncos, Richard, are favored by 6.5 over the Commanders. Is that like per quarter? I mean, are they kidding? The Commanders are horrible. They’re awful. You’re going to hit their quarterback so many times.
SPEAKER 14 :
look that’s the broncos they’re not going to have they’re not going to have their quarterback right too because i think jayden’s out another week and again that’s another one doesn’t matter similar to you know who do we talk about the other day anywhere i think that they should um basically they shouldn’t even play jayden the rest of the season i guess we’ll bro we talked about the bagels I don’t think the Bengals should play Burrow the rest of the season. I don’t think the Commanders should. You’re not going anywhere, even if he comes back and plays good, and he for sure is not going to come back against this Broncos defense, even if he was healthy, in my opinion. I’m going to take the Broncos, Andy. They should be good. They have two games these next two weeks between the Commanders. and the Raiders, and they should be to 11-2 here by the time we all talk again.
SPEAKER 11 :
They will be, and Tanner, go.
SPEAKER 18 :
Marcus Mariota was at the Oregon versus USC football game this weekend. He should stay up there and not come down for the game.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, I agree. Okay, I’ll take the Broncos, obviously. Let’s finish this up. The Giants, who are pesky, but they never win. They always find a team to lose. They’re on the road at the Patriots. Patriots favored by 7.5. Richard, does anyone find more ways to lose than the Giants?
SPEAKER 14 :
The Raiders. Oh, that’s right.
SPEAKER 11 :
My bad.
SPEAKER 14 :
But outside of that, they don’t. And, yeah, the Patriots, again, benefit of a last-place schedule. But then again, all you can play is the people that are in front of you. So in the Patriots’ defense, there you go. I will be curious how they handle Max Crosby because their stud left tackle, Will Campbell, is now out for at least the next several weeks. But I think they should still pull it out, Andy. Obviously, Patriots buy a lot.
SPEAKER 11 :
I agree. Tanner?
SPEAKER 18 :
Yeah, I think Patriots as well, but that Jameis touchdown this weekend was so fun to watch. Catching that pass, shrugging off the defender. I mean, that was unbelievable. I loved it.
SPEAKER 11 :
It is cool. Okay, I will take the Patriots as well. Gentlemen, thank you so much. Richard, thanks for joining us. Thanks, guys. See you. You bet. Have a good one. And Tanner, thank you so much. Of course. And you have a great Thanksgiving. And on the other side of the break, we’re going to have Jersey Joe. Up next is veteran windows and doors. You know, a great front door. Putting reason into your afternoon drive.
SPEAKER 11 :
This is John Rush. And welcome back to Rush to Reason. Denver’s Afternoon Rush. KLZ 560. Andy Pate filling in for John Rush. And on the line right now, we’ve got Jersey Joe. Joe, how are you this week? I’m just fine. Andy, yourself? I’m doing well, sir. You ready for Thanksgiving? I sure am. How about you and your lovely wife? Oh, we are very… I’m actually going to try to smoke a large turkey. So this should be interesting. I expect I will fail.
SPEAKER 06 :
What are you going to smoke it in?
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, it’s an electric smoker. Never mind. It’s embarrassing. It’s embarrassing, folks. I’m not a real man.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, at least you’re not going to set the house on fire by trying to dunk it in a, you’re not trying to deep fry it in a 30-gallon pot full of hot boiling oil.
SPEAKER 11 :
I don’t think so, no. Although I’ve done it twice, and one time it came out fantastic, and the other time it wasn’t. And after that, I’m just like, you know what? This is too hit or miss. I’m not talented enough. No more.
SPEAKER 06 :
And plus, you’re risking burning the house down.
SPEAKER 11 :
Exactly. All right, sir. What do you got for me today?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, first of all, I’d like to start off with a quote. You know, it’s often said the difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Republicans want everybody to have an equal opportunity. Democrats want everybody to have an equal outcome. They want to redistribute wealth. And one of my favorite economists, Thomas Sowell, I saw this quote for the first time. He says, equality of rights does not mean equality of results. I can have all the equal treatment in the world on a golf course, and I will not finish within shouting distance of Tiger Woods.
SPEAKER 1 :
That’s true.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, that kind of sums it up. That’s a great quote. Yeah. I can have all the equal treatment in the world on a golf course, but I will not finish within shouting distance of Tiger Woods.
SPEAKER 11 :
And yet the opposite mentality just took over New York.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes. Redistribution, housing, we’re going to freeze your rents. Everybody’s going to get to ride the buses for free. We’re going to raise the tax on the rich to redistribute the wealth.
SPEAKER 11 :
Do you think he’s going to back off on any of that now that he had that talk with Trump?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, he already has to because the governor of New York came out and said, no, you don’t control the buses. That’s the Metropolitan Transit Authority, which is a state agency, and we can’t afford to make the buses free. Right. By the way, what is interesting, she knew that a month ago. Oh, yeah. But she waited until after the election to come out and say basically Mr. Mamdami is basically lying through his teeth about free buses. Yeah. She could have told the people that a month before the election. She waited until five days after to tell the people that no – he can’t deliver what he’s promising you. He has no authority to deliver that.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, she let him promise his way into office, and then she brought reality. That’s great. That’s real honest. Do Democrats ever not lie?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, when they’re asleep.
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, thank you. Thank you.
SPEAKER 06 :
Speaking of Democrats lying, let’s talk about Jasmine Crockett. Now, by the way, I don’t know if you know the whole story, but it came out last week that during a 2019 congressional hearing, And they had Michael Cohen, Trump’s lawyer, on the stand. One of the congressional Democrats, I’m trying to remember her name, she was actually texting real time with the Jeffrey Epstein who was feeding her questions saying, ask him this, ask him that. So here she is being fed questions by Jeffrey Epstein to ask Michael Cohen and other witnesses on the stand. Well, that came out. Most people didn’t hear about it because, of course, the mainstream media didn’t cover it. Well, this was a big scam that made the Democrats look very, very bad. I think her name was Plaskin or something. So Jasmine Crockett came out. She’s fighting back. Well, yeah. Well, look at all these prominent Republicans who took campaign donations from Jeffrey Epstein. And she rattled off a bunch of names, including a current cabinet member. And she was right.
SPEAKER 11 :
A bunch of them got donations from Jeffrey Epstein. Right. But let’s play who.
SPEAKER 06 :
But she was so quick to try to paint them with a black brush. Can we play the clip of what she was, what they found out and what they confronted her with after she made those accusations? Yeah.
SPEAKER 19 :
EPA Lee Zeldin is now pushing back after Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett said that he and others took money from someone named Jeffrey Epstein. Crockett making the comment Tuesday on Capitol Hill. The National News Desk, Jeff Harris joining us. So Zeldin, who is a cabinet member, Jeff, was among several high profile Republicans Crockett mentioned. Tell us more.
SPEAKER 04 :
So on Capitol Hill earlier this week, Crockett accused Zeldin, Mitt Romney and George Bush, among some others, of taking donations from someone named Jeffrey Epstein. Following some backlash, she then defended the comments, saying she never said that it was that Jeffrey Epstein. Crockett made the comment Tuesday night while defending Delegate Stacey Plaskett, who is facing censure by the House after text messages revealed Epstein coached her through questioning back in 2019 of President Trump’s then-fixer Michael Cohen during an oversight committee hearing. Take a look at both clips. The first is Crockett making the claims. The second, her response while speaking with CNN.
SPEAKER 20 :
Folks who also took money from somebody named Jeffrey Epstein, as I had my team dig in very quickly. Mitt Romney, the NRCC, Lee Zeldin. So my team, what they did is they Googled. And that is specifically why I said, hey, Jeffrey Epstein, unlike Republicans, I at least don’t go out and just tell lies.
SPEAKER 04 :
Now on X, Zeldin responding to Crockett, writing in part that the Jeffrey Epstein who donated to his past campaign was a physician and there is no relation. Others who were also named, including the daughter of John McCain, responded as well, writing on X that her father never met Jeffrey Epstein, let alone took any money from him. The Epstein Crockett is referring to is a completely different person.
SPEAKER 11 :
OK, so, Joe, she is basically alleging that it is a sin for Republicans to take money from anyone named Jeffrey Epstein. And yet this this representative Plaskin was literally being coached by the real Jeffrey Epstein. in in her hearings this is ridiculous and she’s trying to say well i said a jeffrey epstein then why did you say it if you said they got money from a jeffrey epstein yeah why why’d you bring it up yeah how on earth is it a problem to get money from a jeffrey epstein by the way if you go there if you google jeffrey epstein uh there’s literally dozens that this one this particular one is a doctor run along and by the way and some of the donations
SPEAKER 06 :
We’re in the last 24 months. Now, Jeffrey Epstein’s been dead for five years, so you don’t think her staff say, oh, here’s a donation to Lee Zeldin in 2024. It must have been the Jeffrey Epstein who died in 2020.
SPEAKER 11 :
Does this Dr. Jeffrey Epstein have an island? I’m sorry, what? Does he have an island? No, he has no island. He has no private. Okay, just check him. Okay. All right. She is an imbecile. She is an imbecile. Look, don’t get me wrong. I can understand. You know, maybe you’re rushed. And your team has put together this quick, you know, they put together this quick research. But here’s the thing. If you’re not for sure, for sure. And you have to say a Jeffrey Epstein, don’t say it.
SPEAKER 06 :
Don’t say it. Yeah, it was making no point. Yeah, it was clearly an overt attempt to smear Republicans, you know, by implication. And it was baseless, absolutely baseless. So, you know, talk about dirty politics. As long as they’re doing stupid Democrat quotes. Yeah. Governor of Massachusetts, some of her people, you know, it gets cold in Massachusetts. I don’t know if you know that. Yeah, I’ve heard. It gets cold in Massachusetts. I didn’t realize that it was the job of the federal government to make sure that the people in Massachusetts didn’t get cold when they went to bed at night. But the governor of Massachusetts wants Trump to, quote, do his damn job. Can we play this quote?
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, here we go. One second. And this is the governor. And some new charges are filed in the feeding our future fraud scheme.
SPEAKER 17 :
A 77th defendant has been indicted.
SPEAKER 11 :
Wrong one.
SPEAKER 17 :
Our bill color live in front of the federal courthouse in Minneapolis this morning with more on the latest charges. Good morning, Bill.
SPEAKER 25 :
Good morning. In fact, five years after federal investigators first uncovered the scheme to siphon… Looking for the right car at the right price?
SPEAKER 11 :
We are having technical issues. Sorry about that, Joe. It happens. Charlie, do we have the one that Joe was talking about with the Massachusetts? Okay, hang on. Okay, hang on just a moment here. Sorry about that. By the way, Joe, what is the other one so we’ll know what’s coming?
SPEAKER 06 :
Minnesota or Wisconsin? Which one of those upper Midwest states are you from?
SPEAKER 11 :
I am from Wisconsin.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay. We’ve got two. What you just heard, by the way, there has been massive, hundreds of millions of dollars of fraud taking place in the Minneapolis-St. Paul. Most people don’t know this, but under this temporary protective status, the federal government flew in and settled 80,000 Somalians in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. You know, most are here legally, Minneapolis-St. Paul, temporary protected status. But it turned out that it’s been a hotbed of massive fraud, both for housing, food assistance program. And we’re not talking a million here. We’re talking hundreds of millions of dollars, some of which, now, many people may not have heard of a terrorist, an ISIS terrorist organization called al-Shabaab, which is based in Somalia. Yeah. a good portion of this money, of this taxpayer dollars, is being funneled right back to the al-Shabaab terrorist group in Somalia by those Somalian residents in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. So I don’t know if you want to go to that next or you want to go to the governor of Massachusetts next.
SPEAKER 11 :
I’m looking at Charlie. Heating assistance? Yeah, yeah, it is on heating assistance. Go ahead, Charlie. Heating assistance. Here we go.
SPEAKER 10 :
assistance funding is given to those in need every november but this year the federal government put the money on hold due to the shutdown earlier this month 22 news state house reporter olivia ray has how this could affect western massachusetts families and the governor’s calls for reinstatement and are you still there during the government shutdown let’s just hear it out like low income heating assistance were on hold well now what she’s basically saying is that um
SPEAKER 06 :
Apparently, there are people who are – there is a federal program called LEAP, you know, heating. Anyway, the government shutdown had some of those LEAP funds frozen, and she’s now complaining that our people are freezing in their homes. President Trump, do your damn job. Well, I always thought it was the ethical and moral responsibility of the state legislature and the governor to make sure that residents of their state were – properly fed and properly sheltered and weren’t freezing in their homes. Why isn’t it her job to make sure that those people
SPEAKER 11 :
have money you know money to heat their homes with well because blame trump you know it really blows my mind that the second trump gets into office the democrats will find anything even something that’s totally in their neck of the woods to blame trump they blame trump for absolutely everything you know um how many times did we have people in california complaining when the fires were raging out of control right and they were having all these empty empty reservoirs empty reservoirs and who’d they want to blame Trump. Yeah, it doesn’t make any sense. These people, it’s like run your state, run your area. Look, if you’re incompetent, you’re incompetent. By the way, I don’t entirely blame them either. Look, all of us have to maybe see after ourselves a little bit. I understand there are people in need and we have to be there for them. But to try to throw everything on whoever your political opponent is every single time, it’s just weak, Joe.
SPEAKER 06 :
Incredibly weak. By the way, I have some stats on those Somalia fraud in Minneapolis. With the blessing of the Obama of the Biden administration, the state of Minnesota went to the Biden administration. Hey, we’d like to use some of our Medicaid money to fund something called a housing stabilization service where we would provide funding for people who were either homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. So we can augment, you know, to make sure they don’t lose their home or get put out on the street. The Biden administration said, sure, how much are we talking about? They said 2.4 million per year, which is a rounding error when you look at the, and this is with Medicaid, and the federal government picks up 80% of Medicaid. Okay. Biden administration said, sure, yeah, 2.6 million. You know, it’s a rounding error. Go ahead. Well, guess what? 2.6 million quickly turned into $104 million, 50 times more. the original state estimate and federal investigators get involved. They estimate that 90% of that 104 million was fraud. Wow. 90% of the 104 million. Again, it was supposed to be a $2.6 million. And how many years was this?
SPEAKER 11 :
When did this happen?
SPEAKER 06 :
Uh, it started in, um, it started in 2021. Okay. And, um, and, uh, they ended it last year, but now they’re going back and, and, you know, uncovering all the bodies. And then the same thing with the Feed the Children program. Feed the Children program is $250 million. They had these little Somalia storefronts claiming that they were feeding 1,000 children a day. Can you imagine? You have a little store smaller than a 7-Eleven, and you’re claiming that you’re feeding 1,000 children a day, and you’re billing the state $1 million a month out of your— Out of your 2,400 square foot little storefront.
SPEAKER 11 :
And you think a lot of this money actually went to support terrorists?
SPEAKER 06 :
Al-Shabaab, yes. Federal investigators have found the wire transfers, not all, not even half, but that a significant portion was the words they used, was going to Al-Shabaab terrorist groups back in Somalia.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, Joe, really quick before we go to break. Will anything happen to these people? I assume that Bondi is bringing charges.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes, people are being arrested left and right. But the point is how incompetent. Remember, Medicaid is a state-administered program. How incompetent was Governor Tim Walz and his staff that this went on for years? How can you say, well, here’s a program we thought was going to cost $2.6 million. Now, year one, it’s costing $30. Year two, it’s costing $50.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, but are you sure that he didn’t know? You’ve got to keep in mind, Tim Walz has no problem with money going to terrorists. Tim Walz has no problem with money going to any left-wing organization and being misused in any way.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, he was either a knowing, you know, a knowing accomplice or a moron. And when you’re the governor of the state, which is worse?
SPEAKER 11 :
Well, it’s a draw. And by the way, in his case, I think it’s both. I just don’t know which one he was in this circumstance. Look, the guy is a horrendous governor. Okay, he’s an absolutely incompetent governor, but he’s also a bad guy, Joe. This guy loves watching money go to bad things. He doesn’t care. He doesn’t care at all. All right. Let’s take a break. We inform you. Now, back to Rush to Reason. And welcome back to Rush to Reason. Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Andy Pate filling in for John Rush. We’ve got Jersey Joe on the line. Joe, what do you got for us?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, I want to play a clip of General Jack Kane, and I’ll tell you who he is in a minute. But before we get this little background… Last week, a bunch of Democrats got the former military, military background, put together a 30-second spot, which they paid to have run in every major, telling soldiers, you are under no obligation to follow illegal orders, and you have an obligation to obey illegal orders. Well, obviously, they’re trying to take us about Trump. He’s blowing up the narco-terrorist boats in the Caribbean. Yeah. By the way, just to go back, you know the Marine Corps national anthem from the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli? Do you know what Tripoli refers to?
SPEAKER 11 :
I forget. Go ahead.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s when the Libyan pirates were seizing U.S. merchant ships and holding the crew hostage for ransom. Thomas Jefferson said, screw that, and sent in the Marines to whoop some Libyan butt. Well, that’s good. Yeah. So that was the first instance of a president using military force to deal with terrorists. And then, of course, you had Obama. When he sent the SEAL Team 6 to assassinate Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, did Osama bin Laden get due process? Was he tried and convicted in a U.S. court? No, he was not, Joe. And when Obama sent that missile into Syria to wipe out that training camp, Did those people get a trial?
SPEAKER 11 :
No, they did not. And by the way, with Trump taking out all these boats, the intel is available to Congress. OK, the intel has been made available to Congress. What are they complaining about? Look, if you want to go into the intel and say, oh, this intel is not good enough. We believe that this was a bad strike. Then say so. And they can’t. Those six Congress people who did this, who put out this film basically telling military members do not, you know, do not. comply with illegal orders. Okay, well, what are the illegal orders? Give us an answer.
SPEAKER 06 :
And that’s what and let me General Jackie, he’s retired, but he’s a guest commentator on Fox News occasionally. So Fox News asked General Kane to give his keen rather perspective on that Democrat video. So can we play that video of General Keene? Here we go.
SPEAKER 17 :
Another issue we’re tracking closely. Over the weekend, Democratic Senator Alyssa Slotkin said she essentially stands by the PR video she put out with some of her Democratic colleagues telling service members that if they feel military orders from the commander in chief are illegal, her words, they don’t have to follow them. Take a listen to what she said yesterday.
SPEAKER 16 :
Do you believe President Trump has issued any illegal orders?
SPEAKER 15 :
To my knowledge, I am not aware of things that are illegal, but certainly there are some legal gymnastics that are going on with these Caribbean strikes.
SPEAKER 16 :
Couldn’t you have done a video saying just what you just said, if you are asked to do something?
SPEAKER 15 :
For us, it was just a statement widely, right? We say very quickly and very, to all the folks who come to us, this is the process, go to your JAG officer, ask them for explanation, for top cover, for their view on things.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay, let’s Yeah, and I understand that that was slack. And it wasn’t keen. But here’s the big thing.
SPEAKER 17 :
Keen follows her but that they are the arbiters of what military commands are legal and which are not legal, isn’t there?
SPEAKER 01 :
Yeah, I mean, this is pretty outrageous. I don’t have a frame of reference for it whatsoever. These are irresponsible, reckless political leaders. And I normally don’t go after political leaders in our country, but they deserve it now. They’re absolutely undermining the military chain of command. And who do they think our soldiers are? They’re insulting. THE INTELLIGENCE OF OUR SOLDIERS AND THEIR MORAL COMMITMENT TO SERVE THE NATION BY MAKING THESE OUTRAGEOUS STATEMENTS. AND THEN WHEN PRESSED BY A JOURNALIST, NAME ONE ILLEGAL ORDER THAT YOU THINK HAS BEEN ISSUED, THEY CAN’T FIND THAT. THERE IS NONE. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF DOING THIS? WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH? THE LAST TIME THE UNITED STATES DECLARED WAR, WE’VE ONLY DECLARED WAR FIVE TIMES IN THE HISTORY OF THE NATION. The last time was World War II, and presidents have acted since that time, given the powers they have authorized, to take action against those who they believe are presenting a security risk to the United States of America. These politicians should stand down and deal with the events in front of them as opposed to undermining the chain of command. If they want to criticize President Trump’s policy decisions, certainly that’s up for grabs. I have done some of that here. But to do something like this, it’s disgraceful. And they insult the officers that they’re holding, to be quite frank about it.
SPEAKER 17 :
And by asking them to take on that risk.
SPEAKER 1 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 11 :
General, thank you for coming on today. Okay, Joe, I mean, this is ridiculous. These six senators, what they’re telling the military members is, hey, you can take it upon yourself to decide if you think an order is illegal. And therefore, and then you can just disobey it.
SPEAKER 06 :
Unbelievable. And what was missed at the beginning of the clip, the CNN interviewer asked one of those, Slotkin, I think, Give us an example of an illegal order that’s been issued. She had nothing. She had nothing. So.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah. How can you hear you have no examples of illegal orders that Trump has given. Right. And then you want to tell all the military members, hey, you can disobey your commander in chief if you think it’s illegal. We got 30 seconds left, sir. What do you think?
SPEAKER 06 :
30 seconds. Let’s see. How about the guy in Chicago with 49 prior arrests, bought some gasoline, went into a New York, Chicago subway, poured it on a woman and set a woman on fire?
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah, we were talking about that in hour one. 49 previous arrests, and this guy, the mayor, doesn’t want anything done to him.
SPEAKER 06 :
It’s ridiculous. Well, he thinks arresting criminals is racist. Yeah. I played a quote on the show last week with John. that arresting criminals and putting them in jail is racist.
SPEAKER 11 :
All I can say is this, and I’ll close with this, Joe. I ain’t moving to Chicago. You and me both. It is just sick there. Okay, thank you so much, Jersey Joe. We’ll talk to you next week. You take care, and have a happy Thanksgiving. Hey, have a happy Thanksgiving. Folks, that’s it for our number two. In our three, everyone’s demanding unity in the GOP, but is that all we need? Eli Bremer joins me to talk unity, team players, and what’s next for Colorado. Until then, keep it right here on Rush to Reason, KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 23 :
I’m a rich guy.
