Join us on this episode of Rush to Reason as we dive into a pivotal moment in American history—the night General George Washington crossed the Delaware River. Our guest Richard Battle takes us through the daring maneuver that altered the course of the War of Independence, giving insight into the dire situations faced and how leadership was redefined with grit and determination. Discover how Washington’s resilience against all odds became a beacon of hope and set the foundation for what we recognize as true leadership.
SPEAKER 13 :
This is Rush to Reason. You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes. With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 09 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did.
SPEAKER 08 :
Get a job first. You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 11 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 09 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 15 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 16 :
All right, we are back, and this is our last show of the year with Richard Battle. Doesn’t mean we won’t be back in 2025, but Richard, this is our last show together for 2024.
SPEAKER 04 :
Good afternoon, John. Yes, yes it is, and we’re glad to be with you. And where did the year go, by the way? Well, it’s evaporated. We have a good year to look forward to, thankfully.
SPEAKER 16 :
Amen. The night that changed our history. Let’s talk about it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and we celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas, the birth of our Lord and Savior, but Christmas night and the day after Christmas is in my opinion, was probably the most important day in our history. And without it, we’d probably still be British citizens, because that’s the night that Washington crossed the Delaware and attacked Trenton the day after Christmas.
SPEAKER 16 :
Interesting. So tell us more about the story. Some of us have heard it, some of us maybe remember it, maybe don’t. Give us a little recap of it, if you would.
SPEAKER 04 :
And the more I think about it, the more incredible it was because Washington had lost every battle he led the troops. They had used the fog to escape Brooklyn. They were driven out of Manhattan. They were driven out of New York into New Jersey. They were chased out of New Jersey across the Delaware into Pennsylvania. The Continental Congress fled Philadelphia and went to Baltimore. And so as they came up toward the end of the year, half of his troops’ enlistments were up at the start of the year. They didn’t have enough food. They didn’t have enough supplies. And normally in those days, armies didn’t fight much in the wintertime. They’d hunker down and camp and wait for spring. But Washington knew that if he waited, that the army would disintegrate and there would be no more independence movement. And so he was forced on watching that happen. or attacking and trying to make a difference.
SPEAKER 16 :
Interesting. So he knew that, number one, the odds were really stacked against him, and yet he proceeded anyways.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, and I believe his individual character, his persistence, his leading by example, those type of things made the difference, which is why he was so revered by people today for so long after independence because they recognized without his leadership an example that the war would have been lost and they would have never had independence, which we’ve been given.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, he knew what true leadership was. He didn’t use the people that were around him. He actually helped those people around him, right?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, and their password that night and motto for that attack was victory or death. They knew that everything was on the line. and they went despite the conditions with the snow, the ice, and the river. It was a very difficult task that went on all night long. They lost people freezing to death, but they knew the gamble was necessary because there was no other choice.
SPEAKER 16 :
And in the end, that paid off, right?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, they attacked the Hessian outpost in Trenton the day after Christmas, and the Hessians were mercenary soldiers for the British. and they caught them kind of sleeping off the Christmas night party, if you will, and we lost nobody, and they killed the commander, Colonel Rawl, and several of the Hessians, and took several prisoners, and took cannons and weapons and other things, and then to show it wasn’t a fluke, within the week, they attacked Princeton and won a victory there as well before retreating back into Pennsylvania for their winter camp, but The amazing thing was never after that was the morale as low as it was before that event, and so it reinvigorated the populace about the independence movement and the war.
SPEAKER 16 :
I mean, literally, not exaggerating, it changed the war.
SPEAKER 04 :
Absolutely, which changed our lives. Right. And that’s the thing. That is so important because people reenlisted. They had new people come join the Army. They had people donate supplies and help them. It just reinvigorated everybody’s attitude. And we’ve heard the expression, it’s always darkest before the dawn. And this is a great example of that.
SPEAKER 16 :
Now, given all of what he accomplished, and we’ve talked about this in the past, and he became really a great president, not just the first president, but a great president, in fact, so great that they wanted to make him king. He could have stayed in that position probably for as long as he wanted to, but in the end, his goal and his desire was, A, to be a true leader and understand what was best for the country.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, and let me back up one second and then comment on that. Remember, after this night, despite its victory, it took seven more years to secure the military victory and the peace. And so they had to continue for seven more years the commitment and dedication. But you’re right. He was a servant leader before that term existed, except in the Bible. And he didn’t seek office. He didn’t seek to be the commander-in-chief of the army. He didn’t seek the presidency. And he recognized that for the country to survive long term, it required fresh turnover of leadership. and development of more leaders not staying in office 50 years like some of our current leaders.
SPEAKER 16 :
And I’m not exaggerating when I say at the time the people really would have made him king. I know that’s what they had left, and he knew it was best for the country, and it’s amazing that people will ask for something that they already ran away from or fought over, if you would. I mean, that part to me is a little bit amazing, Richard. But in turn, he was such a great leader that the people had that much trust in him that they would have made him king.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, and I think that shows that they recognize that he wasn’t in it for himself. He put everyone else first and himself last, and that’s why they trusted him, whereas today we see leaders in different areas who put themselves first, and you cannot trust them at all.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, they do what’s best for them, not necessarily the organization, or depending upon what they’re leading, the state, or in regards to different politicians, or it could be the country. I mean, Richard, we could go down the list there. The reality is, typically, and I know there’s some exceptions to this, but typically, they’re looking out for their own good, not the good of others.
SPEAKER 04 :
That’s absolutely correct, and we see it in Congress now on both sides of the aisle too often, where the temptation to enrich oneself is so great that honest people succumb to it because they see other people doing it and think they have to as well.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, and along those lines, not to get way off track, but it goes with what we’re talking about. You know, I had a question the other day. Why do a lot of those individuals you just mentioned enter with, you know, not a lot of net worth when it’s all said and done? In fact, in some cases, they may have spent everything they had to even get into office and they really have nothing, but yet they come out millionaires. Why is that, Richard? Yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, because their ethics level is too low.
SPEAKER 16 :
That’s the simple answer. I can’t disagree with that. They’re willing to do things they wouldn’t have done otherwise.
SPEAKER 04 :
That’s exactly right. One of the things I discovered in writing The Americans Who Made America the 18th Century volume and studying the founder so much was that they set aside their personal ambitions and desires and came together, wrote the Declaration of fought the war, wrote the Constitution, and then once that was all done, then they all started pursuing their separate interests again. But for that period of about 15 years or so, they put aside their interests and just focused on politics. creating the country.
SPEAKER 16 :
And I think that was so amazing and providential. Agreed. Very, very amazing. Richard, how do folks find more of this? You’ve got lots of books. Folks even right now still looking for maybe a last-minute Christmas gift. You’ve got things right on the website, don’t you?
SPEAKER 04 :

SPEAKER 07 :
American Stonehenge by Mike Goldstein is more than just a children’s book. It’s a way to connect with the children in your life and encourage them to read to you and for themselves. When Mike Goldstein started writing American Stonehenge, he went after a specific problem. Children today don’t think for themselves, and test scores nationwide show that. American Stonehenge is gorgeously put together, so it’ll draw their attention. It’s filled with action, the prose flows as smooth as sand through an hourglass, and it’s historically accurate from the stories and the illustrations. But it’s also a portal to quality time with children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. It’s a way to connect with them while tacitly teaching them the importance of critical thought and giving them a break from scrolling in their free time. Find American Stonehenge on klzradio.com and bring your family together this holiday season.
SPEAKER 10 :
Putting reason into your afternoon drive, this is John Rush.
SPEAKER 16 :
All right, a couple of things I want to talk about before we have Sunny Kutcher on from Young Americans Against Socialism. We’re going to talk a little bit about the continuing resolution bill that’s going through right now with her. But before that, one thing I just want to add from 3 o’clock where we were talking about Norbert. And we were talking about just electromagnetic radiation and so on and different things along those lines. And I had a few questions from folks and actually had some interesting stories from some of you texting in as well. In other words, sort of validating some of what Norbert was talking about as well. Now, I don’t know all of the… idiosyncrasies when it comes to your cell phone and different devices in your home and your wi-fi and so on i will do more research on that what i do know and what i can tell you though personal experience with this that cell towers in general but especially now with 5g and i have a a direct story related to this whereby if you get near one in other words up on the same level so say for example there’s a cell tower and there’s a roof nearby I know for a fact that you are not supposed to get on that roof or anyone is supposed to get on that roof without calling that particular cell tower provider first and telling them when you’re going to be on it. And they power things down, quote unquote. You can then go do whatever it is you need to do on the roof and then they power things back up. So that alone. should say some things that correlate with what Norbert was talking about earlier. So when you combine that with we know from the radio end of things that we can’t have people work on our towers, for example, without powering those down first. In fact, they won’t. before that happens. They want you to prove that it’s even happened before they do. I know in the cell phone, you know, the cell tower industry, those workers, it’s the same thing. They will not just jump up there without knowing some of these things have happened on the front side. So when you look at the worker aspect of this and they know some of these things, you sort of have to now start thinking in the way that Norbert was talking about in three o’clock. If you didn’t listen to health and wellness, please do. He was talking about electromagnetic radiation and so on and some of the things that are caused from it. And then you look at some of the health things that we as a society now go through. And I fully understand, and we talk about this a lot, that some of our health issues, especially Americans, comes from what we eat. lack of nutrients, all sorts of things along those lines. But then you have to wonder, OK, if you do all of that and then combine some of these other things with it, it sort of is a recipe for disaster. So, again, I’ll do more research on that. And some of you that have been texting in, thank you, by the way, for some of the stories that you have shared, because they’re really in a lot of ways validating what Norbert was saying. So thank you, by the way, for those stories. All right. One other topic I want to get to. And a text message, and very nice, going back and forth with somebody on the transgender topic. And we got into a topic talking about the bathroom end of things and the use of. And this particular individual thought that my comments and Andy’s yesterday were a little bit transphobic when we were talking about transgenders and some things yesterday. And we were talking about that in relation to the Democrats losing the culture. Losing society, if you would. Americans. And that particular topic was brought up. And so I got some text messages along those lines. And number one, I am not transphobic. I explained yesterday full well, and I will stand by this, that I feel like anyone that feels they’re in the wrong body… has some mental things going on that they definitely need some help with. And I’m being as kind as I possibly can because I would be kind to anyone that has a mental issue that they need to be dealt with because they’re not thinking straight and my heart goes out to them. So I am by no means trying to beat these individuals up. Where my problem lies is really the medical community, because they would rather butcher these people than give them the help they need. And I’ve interviewed people over the years, one gentleman in particular that was, we were, I think, one of the first shows that he was ever on. He’s become very well known, where he actually became a woman. He’s a man. He became a woman, then realized after about 10 years that, yeah, this isn’t the way this is supposed to be. came back to being a man again and now goes around the world talking about all of that and all of the negative repercussions of doing what he did. So I’ve interviewed people along those lines as well. So I’m not saying some of the things that I say just off the cuff. I have literal proof from individuals that have been through these things and talk about the way the medical community works and literally the – blood-sucking, revenue-seeking butchers. Yes, that’s what I’m calling these doctors on that side because that’s what they are. They’re nothing more than money-hungry butchers trying to profit off of these individuals. I don’t care what anybody says otherwise. That’s the truth. They know what they’re doing is wrong, and they don’t care. Literally, they don’t. There’s interviews that have been done. Matt Walsh has done some of those interviews with some of these particular individuals. And as soon as they get caught with what I just said, they become very defensive and try to figure out a way to defend themselves, and it’s indefensible. Especially when it comes to kids that are minors and under, teenagers and under. I guess if you’re 30 years old and want to do this, more power to you. But even then… We really should be looking at how do we help you mentally speaking first, and then we’ll look at the physical aspects of this second. But we got onto a topic, this particular texter and I, talking about bathrooms and what’s fair and what’s not fair. Now, the first thing I did as well, which, again, I don’t think most people realize this, it isn’t common knowledge, but I looked up what’s the ratio of transgender men versus women. And a transgender man is a woman that has become a man, and a transgender woman is a man that has become a woman. And it’s of no surprise, by the way, at least it wasn’t to me, that the ratio of men wanting to be a woman versus women wanting to be a man is almost four to one. It’s three to four to one. Men wanting to become women versus women wanting to become men. Now, my theory on that is, and I’m sorry, but this is my theory. Men enjoy being around women. the way God made us. We’re sight-oriented individuals. Newsflash. It’s how we’re made. And by the way, this happens with a lot of different species, not just the humankind, whereby one is much more attractive than the other. It’s just the way it is. So in our case, you ladies are much more attractive than we are, period. Case closed. Again, the way we’re made. So my feeling on transgendered women is that these are guys that want to hang around women that frankly probably can’t otherwise, and so they do this to be able to hang around more women. I’m just being blunt. That’s my belief. So the whole bathroom thing becomes an issue because when these dudes – that are trying to become women and in a lot of cases haven’t even gone through all of what needs to be done to become one. In other words, they still stand up to pee. Sorry to be blunt, but they do. And they head into the women’s restroom where there’s little girls and others there. It’s very uncomfortable for those individuals, and I don’t blame them. It is uncomfortable. Now, I was asked the question of, well, is it uncomfortable for you when a woman walks in? We’re men. Honestly, it really isn’t that uncomfortable for us because we’re men. We don’t care. Literally, we don’t care. We can stand in front of a urinal, hide what we need to, do what we need to do, and we don’t really care who’s around. We’re used to it, by the way. It’s what we do. And again, I’m not trying to be gross and graphic, but that’s just how men are. So it’s not the same in a men’s restroom when a woman walks in as it is in a woman’s restroom when a man walks in. It’s completely different. Am I right, Charlie? It’s completely different, folks. Now, I don’t think either are correct. even a woman going into the men’s, but I’ve been to – there’s always that funny situation where I’ve been at ball games where a woman has to use the restroom and can’t hold any longer, and the woman’s line is out the door, out the stadium, per se, and the men’s line is super short, so she’ll jump over, use the men’s restroom, and out the door she goes, and most men could care less. But again, we’re different. We don’t care like the other side does, and I don’t blame them. So I just wanted to explain that. I had a little bit of conversation back and forth. All very nice, by the way. It wasn’t antagonistic and didn’t – I enjoyed the conversation, I should say. There was nothing there that I didn’t enjoy. And you guys all know me. I explain myself very well in my position, but I wanted to do it on air today as well. Bruce Simmons is next. He is our reverse mortgage professor, by the way. SPEAKER 16 :
And we are back. Sunny Kutcher joining us now from Young Americans Against Socialism. Sunny, welcome. How are you?
SPEAKER 14 :
I’m doing well. Thanks for having me.
SPEAKER 16 :
Merry Christmas to you and all of your folks there as well. I know this is the last time we’ll talk here in 2024, so I want to wish you guys, before I forget, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
SPEAKER 14 :
Absolutely. Happy New Year, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, all the things. We’re so grateful for your show and just want everyone to know Make sure to take this time to celebrate with your family filled with the gratitude and the blessings of liberty of this country.
SPEAKER 16 :
Amen. Appreciate that. All right, speaking of, because this goes along with what you just said a moment ago about blessings, liberty, and where we’re at and so on, and that is the continuing resolution bill that’s trying to make its way through Congress right now, which is so bloated, which always happens. These guys stick more pet projects into these things. You just sent me an ex-post that just went out from Vivek, Ramazwami a moment ago, and the reality is this thing is full of a bunch of garbage.
SPEAKER 14 :
Oh, it’s jam-packed, and we are not securing the blessings of liberty with this continuing resolution. They are absolutely securing their $70,000 increase for next term. This bill shows the incessant spending, the lack of accountability, the government overreach, the lack of transparency. This will lead our country towards irreparable harm. And we know that this is not what the people voted for. And this is not what the people want. This is not where their intention lies for the country. And I do believe it’s important that everyone takes the responsibility to voice your own opinion. And you can go to house.gov. You can find your representative’s contact information there and let them know what you think about it.
SPEAKER 16 :
Absolutely. And for example, folks, these are things that Vivek have noticed. He actually read the 1,500-plus page bill. His point also is why is this stuff always rushed? They’ve known since September this thing needs to get done. Why are we doing it right now? Well, they do it right now because then it is rushed. Nobody reads it. They just pass it. And off we go. And in this particular bill, there’s $8 billion, by the way, to replace the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which, by the way, should be handled by the insurance companies of the companies involved in that particular accident. There’s no reason why any taxpayer should be on the hook for that. We’ve got disaster relief for $100 billion. We’ve got the farm bill renewing for another $130 billion. We’ve got stimulus for farmers of $10 billion. It goes on and on and on, Sonny.
SPEAKER 14 :
Absolutely. And we know that injecting billions and billions of dollars into the agricultural industry is not going to help them. It’s putting a Band-Aid on something and it doesn’t get to the root of the problem, which is manufacturing, bringing companies back into the country, et cetera, et cetera, which is what the people know and what they believe will be accomplished in the next administration. The ones that really concerned me were, of course, the pay raise, the 40 percent increase, which ironically, I heard a a segment of Senator Durbin discussing the continuing resolution, and he said he hadn’t heard about the pay increase, which I just somehow don’t believe.
SPEAKER 16 :
How do you not hear about that?
SPEAKER 14 :
Right, I think he’s the number two Democrat in the Senate, so that’s confusing.
SPEAKER 16 :
His people wrote it in. How would he not know?
SPEAKER 14 :
Absolutely, and I read somewhere it would take seven, eight-hour days in order to read and understand the bill. So, of course, this is just part of the course. It’s extremely… disappointing and sickening, honestly, of Speaker Johnson to, you know, call this a I think he called it a conservative calling card, you know, conservative. I’m not sure the exact words he used, but oh, this is the beacon of strength for the conservative led Congress, you know, Republican led Congress. And that’s just absolutely outrageous. I mean, they have an expansion of their federal health benefits, which they can also they’re able to opt out of the Affordable Care Act, which I thought that was so great. But I guess government representatives don’t want it. and also a new stadium in Washington, D.C., as well as an extension of the Global Engagement Center, which was helping and abetting censorship via social media companies.
SPEAKER 16 :
Again, way more pork than is needed. Vivek said it well. If you guys are really serious about Doge and us getting serious about trimming things back and really cutting budgets and really making America great again, financially speaking, you need to put your money where your mouth is. And so far they haven’t.
SPEAKER 14 :
Absolutely. And this is indefensible information. Any representative who’s going to support this and just outright lie to our faces that this is, you know, a successful bill for the country, that this is going to lead us into prosperity. They absolutely need to be checked and their constituents need to let them know what they think because they do work for us. And this is not securing our blessings of liberty that the forefathers wrote into our Constitution. In fact, this is a complete infringement because we are allowed to have transparency. These people work for us, and I don’t support a 40% increase in their pay.
SPEAKER 16 :
I don’t either. In fact, I would like to see a 40% decrease in their pay. I’d go as far as to say, Sonny, you can go do it on a volunteer basis. That would change a lot of folks that actually go to Washington if you had to go there for a two-year term voluntarily speaking versus getting paid. Nice sum of money, by the way, is where it’s at right now. The reality is I think they make $140,000 as we speak. So the reality is they get a nice little paycheck for doing that, and that doesn’t count all the other perks they get on top of that. So I’d be one to say, listen, how about let’s give you guys – No pay. Let’s get everything back on track. Let’s get our deficit down. Let’s get some things back where that needs to be. Then we’ll talk about pay and even some increases. But until then, you guys are going to get a pay cut. You’re not doing your jobs right.
SPEAKER 14 :
A pay cut? Let’s see a bill up for a term limit. Let’s see a bill to ban insider trading or investigate the insider trading that goes on in our government. And listen, I mean, the earmarking thing goes on. This has been happening since the modern corruption of our government. And I actually did some research into this. And in 2011, the Republican-controlled House actually established a moratorium on earmarks. They adopted a rule that prohibited earmark requests. The Senate also agreed to this, but they did not file an official rule. Shocker. But so why does it continue? uh… because bates of course allowed work around for themselves which you know the list goes on other than researching there’s too many things even went to tell you how they get around that but uh… that moratorium with only on formal request through congress to say hey i want packing specifically towards that but they’re now they can get the court at the top of the bill that they always have they also use different terms like congressionally directed spending and then in twenty twenty one of course they started with this very new world order socialist globalist-sounding phrase, community projects funding. So all this really did was just make our representatives more secretive about how much more money they’re laundering and don’t want us to know about.
SPEAKER 16 :
It’s interesting that we’ve got the two leaders of Doge. posting today all day long, literally being very critical of any lawmaker that would actually vote for this bill. In fact, Elon Musk himself said, if you vote for this bill, it’s criminal. In other words, this is the opposite of what we need to be doing. And it’s about high time, Sonny, that some other people besides some of us core Republicans are trying to call, you know, basically calling these folks on the carpet. It’s about time we had other loud voices like Vivek and Musk calling these guys out.
SPEAKER 14 :
we are so happy to see it because these are the voices that, you know, can amplify to millions of people. The fact that this is, you know, do not pass this bill is trending on X. This is, a major major pushback in fact i think 30 house republicans are saying that they absolutely do not support it which of course that’s the only words we need to see action right but uh to hear that you know at least we have some people in our corner that is a huge seismic shift from you know just a couple years ago uh so we are 30 vote no it doesn’t pass we already know that so that’s an easy one at that point it’s not going to pass if 30 of them vote no well yes of course Well, no, of course. I’m saying I just want to see the proof. I do, too. I want to see what really happened.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, and the other thing I want to see is them stick to that by saying, OK, unless we get a bill that is for the necessities only until we can actually get a full budget going here in 2025, reality is unless you send us something back that is the bare minimum of what we need, we’re not passing it. That’s the message that needs to be sent by these 30.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yes, and this is just a complete myth, and I’m hoping that they’re going to speak very broadly about what they think should be happening, including we need line item bills. That’s right. That’s another thing. That’s right. So it says that at least 65 cents, this bill or proposal adds at least 65 cents of new spending for every dollar of continued discretionary spending.
SPEAKER 16 :
And we wonder where inflation comes from. Here’s your answer.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right. It baffles the minds that people don’t understand when you put billions of dollars into the economy. it actually makes things worse.
SPEAKER 16 :
It makes it worse, not better. But again, Sonny, these guys, gals, are politicians. They’re trying to get whatever they can for their particular constituents. They feel like if they do that, that will get them reelected. But then when you start seeing things like you’re talking about where certain things are trending on social media that basically say don’t vote for this bill, they should be really careful on what they think along those lines because what they think might actually be good is probably not.
SPEAKER 14 :
I mean, and additionally, for small businesses, this just destroys small businesses. I mean, I you know, that’s why we are really making an effort to highlight made in America, small businesses, you know, with our campaign. It’s called Made in America on our Instagram. Young Americans Against Socialism, of course. So you can check it out there. But this is why we go into so much detail about how government sees things. the means of production and go into, you know, government control. Obviously, we’re not seeing that the way it is in America, just because of just truly, truly, it would never happen. I think we’re seeing like a workaround. And so that’s why we go into so much education about these topics, because people need to understand that the government will take a mile if you give them an inch. So please check out our resources, Intro to Socialism. We want to share America’s foundational values. These are not the values that America was founded on, and we need to really prioritize, like we’ve been saying, line items, cutting back spending, government efficiency, all these things. So it’s really great to see people speaking out about this and truly making pushback and impact on that pushback. So
SPEAKER 16 :
That’s awesome. No, really quick, talk about your new website, the way it looks and what’s going on there and so on.
SPEAKER 14 :
Absolutely. We’re so excited. We just launched our new website, same website, yaas.org, Y-A-A-S.org. Educate Freedom is our premier content platform. It looks incredible. And we’re so grateful for your support. If you are inclined to take advantage of a year-end tax deduction, I will let you know, just to call back from this proposal here, every 60 cents of each dollar that is given to Young Americans Against Socialism goes directly to telling stories of survivors who have fled communism, who help us teach young Americans to embrace the values of freedom and opportunity and economic independence.

SPEAKER 16 :
All right, and I was sent a text message on pay. $174,000 I was off. I don’t know where I got – I don’t remember the $140,000. I read so many things all day long and different things. Thank you for the correction. I appreciate that very much. And, yeah, again, I already spoke what I wanted to say on that earlier, and lots of things need to change. But this whole continuing resolution and what they’re asking for, it, again – They need it. Like Vivek says, they need to put their money where their mouth is. If they really want to clean things up and they claim they do, they claim that they like Doge and what it’s going to be doing. Well, they’re not acting like it right now, plain and simple. So we’ll see where this goes. We’ll see if things actually change. get shut down i highly doubt that will happen although it never hurts when it does because as we all know there’s far too many government workers in the first place if you ask me so speaking of all of that joe sent me something that i might come back and talk about next hour but here in colorado we all complain about our roads and so on and i understand c dot and rtd Two different things. CDOT does all of the roads. RTD does the regional transportation in the districts that have allowed them, voted for them to do that. Not all cities on the front range do. I understand that. CDOT covers the entire state. On the same token, RTD’s footprint is very small compared to CDOT’s, and yet RTD has a larger budget. And they have had for years, by the way. Unfortunately for RTD, while our state population continues to increase, ridership continues to decrease. And in 2024, RTD is reporting that only 5% Of its total revenue, 5% came from fares. meaning 95% comes from the RTD tax they collect on the retail end of things when you buy something, or it’s funded through the general fund, or it’s a line item coming out of the general fund that our legislatures here in Colorado approve, one of the two. And we do approve additional monies to them out of what we do budgetarily speaking in Colorado. So, by the way, on top of that, Joe sent me this, even though ridership is down, Their spending from 2021 to now 2025 going into next year went from $630 million to $1 billion. So ridership is down, and yet the budget isn’t quite doubled. Well, it’s gone up 65%. So reality is it’s a huge increase. In where it’s been. Rider expense. So per rider is the way they look at this. They know how many riders they have throughout the year. Charlie used to be one of those and isn’t much anymore, but used to be. So the cost of one rider right now is $17.49. That’s up, by the way, from 1685 in 2020. Currently… A three-hour pass to ride anything transit-wise here in the Denver area, in the RTD districts, is $2.75. Cost per rider, $17.49, and we’re going to collect $2.75, meaning all of you that are listening that pay taxes and buy things at retail stores and so on are subsidizing the rest of that when somebody gets on and rides the train or the bus. And just so you all know, as I said a moment ago, that’s dropping anyways. So you’re subsidizing, by the way, less and less people But your dollars are still subsidizing what’s going on in the workings of the empty trains, the empty buses, and so on. My point is, your dollars are still hard at work, even though nobody’s riding. Imagine that. We’ll be back. Hour 3 is next. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 1 :
I’m a rich guy.
