HR3 Rush To Reason February 18, 2025 by John Rush
SPEAKER 16 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 11 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes. With your host, John Rush. My advice to you is to do what your parents did.
SPEAKER 16 :
Get a job first. You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 10 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 11 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?
SPEAKER 15 :
It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 14 :
All right, we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. I talked earlier about – it’s myself and Andy, by the way. I talked earlier about Phil Weiser and the fact that he’s our attorney general, which, by the way, the guy’s never tried a case in court to my knowledge. I don’t think even to this day he has, but he’s still our AG. Imagine that. He’ll be governor. And if we don’t do things right on our side, he will be. Now, keep in mind, he’s also an AG that has joined multi-state suits over Trump. This was yesterday. Over Trump’s administrational cuts to the NIH, the National Institute of Health Affairs. funding. And basically, he’s mad because Trump and Doge went in and cut a lot of different funding, which again, as we talked about with Jordan earlier, they’re looking at a lot of different things and areas and so on where they may bring some things back depending upon what it was, or they may combine certain organizations and so on. We’ll see when it’s all said and done. But bottom line, we all know that NIH has done a lot of very malicious things when it comes to the health of Americans. And I mean, when I say malicious, I’m using that word on purpose.
SPEAKER 03 :
They move money to the Wuhan labs. Correct. Okay. Look, I mean, it’s very fertile territory. If our side had any strategizing whatsoever, if we cared about anything other than purges and, you know, opting out and all this kind of stuff, if we actually cared about defeating Democrats, we would be looking at this and saying, wait a minute. Wait a minute. You support the people who move money to the Wuhan lab? Right. That’s what you support?
SPEAKER 14 :
You’re kidding. And partially because, you know, what Phil’s looking at in a lot of these states that have sued over is because there’s a certain amount of funding, keep in mind, that comes into Colorado. From the NIH, it comes to some of our universities and so on. And I don’t know exactly what that’s funded or funding. You have to go through and actually look at some of the audits to determine exactly what’s happening at, you know, CU, at Anschutz, at some of the other places to determine exactly what’s happening. And again, there’s all sorts of fear porn in this. You’re going to hear all sorts of things about if we don’t get this funding, people’s lives are at danger. People will die, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. It’s just rhetoric is all it is.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, look, here’s the big problem that he has. Doge is going to come up with details. They’re going to come up with bad stuff that that money was used on, okay? And it’s going to look very bad for any candidate who wants to align himself with that. If we had a candidate who was ready, who could go after him and say, all he would have to do is grab Doge’s notes and go to work.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yep. Absolutely. Speaking of Doge, Weiser is also one of those governors that is suing, you know, that is in a lawsuit that’s basically suing, one of the AGs, that is suing to make sure that Doge doesn’t have the access that it now has. Again, as I asked yesterday, Phil, what are you trying to hide? What are you protecting? Yeah, what are you hiding, Phil? What are you worried about, Phil?
SPEAKER 03 :
Basically, you want auditors not to have the access to audit? Absolutely.
SPEAKER 14 :
Basically, that’s what Phil is saying. Oh, that makes you perfectly honest, Phil. He’s another one that’s also pushing back against birthright citizenship and that ban. So we just keep rattling these off is what our Colorado AG is doing, which again, to Andy’s point and what I said earlier, if we had a leadership in Colorado and the Colorado GOP, we would already be having announcements. This is one area where I’m all for having our caller to GOP put some announcements out supporting Trump and Doge and criticizing what Weiser is doing in these particular situations.
SPEAKER 03 :
They should be targeting Weiser right now. They should have a bullseye on his head, politically speaking, folks. Yes. That’s what they should have right now, and they should be going after him. But no, I’m sure they’re just talking about election integrity and stop the steal.
SPEAKER 14 :
No, no, no, Andy. No. If you said many, many times, it’s even worse than that. Instead of going after Weiser for the things I’m mentioning, we’re going after fellow Republicans through the likes of Rhino Watch. Right. And we’ve even hired an attorney to be on staff, if you would, at the Colorado GOP. Anti-corruption committee. To actually go after these same individuals.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. The Anti-Corruption Committee, we have an attorney, Matt Arnold, and they’re going to be going after who? Republicans. They’re not going after Phil Weiser. They’re not going to do one thing about Phil Weiser. They’re not going to say anything about Phil Weiser. Where right now, they should be looking ahead and saying, look, this guy’s almost certainly going to be the candidate. Start hitting him. That’s right. No, they’re not going to do that. They’re going to go after their own. They’re going to attack Jeff Crank, which they are actively doing. They’re going to attack Jeff Hurd, which they are actively doing. They’re going to attack Lauren Boebert, which they are actively doing. Not only is the state party doing that on their own, but they’re doing it through Rhinowatch, like you said. This is where they’re putting all their efforts. They want to divide their way to success. It is unbelievable, John.
SPEAKER 14 :
And again, these are things, in my opinion, folks, this is very, very low-hanging fruit when it comes to things that we should be doing as a party. But again, this is my disappointment. This is my frustration with our party leadership here in Colorado. I haven’t heard a single peep.
SPEAKER 03 :
regarding what doge is doing and what our own ag in colorado is doing against not only doge but the trump administration to boot john i can guarantee you in 49 smarter states okay here’s what the gop is doing in all the other 49 states they’re just sitting there waiting for doge to put out things that relate to their state right okay because doge is going to find this kind of graft going on in all 50 states correct but we’re not going to do anything with it here
SPEAKER 14 :
Which, again, folks, this is low-hanging fruit. There’s no reason why, as a party, we are not attacking some of these individuals, i.e. Hickenlooper, who’s going to be running for his Senate seat again, i.e. Weiser, who’s going to be running for Polis’ seat. And I’ve got some things to talk about with Polis, which, by the way, could be used by our own GOP in these same lines. I’ll talk about that as soon as we come back. We’ll shift gears and go there. Don’t go anywhere. Flesh Law is coming up next, 3.03 p.m. 806-8886. Civil, criminal, you name it. And by the way, unlike Phil Weiser, Kevin has been to court, likes going to court, and will defend you at all costs. 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 04 :
Here’s why you need personal injury attorney Kevin Flesch on your side. He understands the way the jury thinks. In the context of a personal injury case, you’ve been hurt by someone else’s negligence. The idea is that you’re going to try to recover so that you can get back to where you were just prior to that incident occurring. What that really means from a jurist’s perspective is that you’re going to be asking them to award you money. So when we talk about fairness, we’re talking about six people that you don’t know. Those six people view the evidence and make a unanimous decision that will decide what the fair value is. When you’re the one who’s hurt, you have a good idea of what you think it’s worth. The question is, can you persuade those other individuals whom you don’t know and were witnesses to believe that’s what the case is worth? Kevin Flesch understands the way the jury thinks. Call now for a free consultation, 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 14 :

SPEAKER 14 :
All right, myself and Andy, Charlie Grimes as well. And as I said earlier, I’m going to talk about Governor Polis now, which, again, knowing that Weiser is most likely going to be the Dems pick. I could be wrong. Somebody else might surface up as a Democrat and do fairly well, although I highly doubt it.
SPEAKER 03 :
I’m just not impressed. I don’t think our Secretary of State is going to make it.
SPEAKER 14 :
No, she’s another low IQ individual. Sorry.
SPEAKER 03 :
She’s just not very bright. She’s not super smart.
SPEAKER 14 :
Look, he’s smarter. He is.
SPEAKER 03 :
He’s going to be there.
SPEAKER 14 :
He’s smarter. She’s not. So sorry. Just is what it is. Is what it is. Funny enough, he’s kind of a middle aged white guy. But anyways, whatever. Yeah, whatever works. So this particular topic, even though it’s Governor Polis. It’s still the party mantra, I think, when it’s all said and done. And it’s their marching orders. And you could easily take some of what Polis is saying right now and target that. Again, do some things as a party right now, newsletters, announcements, things like that, getting geared up for the next round of elections in 2026, because they’re not as far away as you all think. They’ll be here before you know it. So there was a 9 News article today talking about the Trump administration directs states to stop spending money for EV charger infrastructure. So I’m not going to read the whole article to you, but here’s some quotes from Polis. The Trump administration is attacking the freedom to move. Including the freedom to drive and putting their own agendas above what Americans and the market are demanding. Okay, so that one alone, that one sentence. Yeah. If I was GOP chair, I could put out a rebuttal to that that would literally tear that to pieces. Right. But instead, we’re worried about infighting and calling rhinos rhinos and we’re on the rhino watch and this, that, and the other.
SPEAKER 03 :
Our state party is spending all of its time stacking reorg meetings.
SPEAKER 14 :
And by the way, the way I would combat this is, by the way, I would show an ICE vehicle in the newsletter, packed up, ready to go, families inside of it, and they’ve got the ability to travel coast-to-coast Easily with our current infrastructure. No problem. In other words, people in this country have no problem with the ability to move about. It’s a matter of what you’re choosing to drive. Right. And furthermore, it should not be up. And this is I’m an EV owner. OK, by the way, I think I can talk about this better than most because of that. I don’t think it’s anybody else’s responsibility tax-wise to put in the infrastructure necessary for me to drive coast to coast in my EV. That is up to the market to be able to justify the costs and the installation of EV stations coast to coast, just like anything else we’ve done in the past, just like gas stations have popped up over the years in this country. Why should taxpayers be on the hook for making that happen?
SPEAKER 03 :
Exactly. When did gas stations get made by the government? They didn’t. Okay. So if they didn’t make gas stations, why did they have to make this kind of fuel? Right? Why did they have to make charging stations?
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, he goes on to say, Coloradans want more charging stations to support the many electric vehicles they are choosing to buy and drive across our state. Well, keep in mind, even in Colorado… While Colorado is one of the larger states in regards to EV purchases, they still don’t come even close to what the predictions were going to be in this state for us buying them and acquiring them. And they’re not even close to what the ICE market is in this state. John, their inventory is backing up on car lots. Correct.
SPEAKER 03 :
They’re not moving.
SPEAKER 14 :
Now, this, he goes on to say, and I did the math on this, so I’ll get to that in a moment. Colorado has granted more than $33.6 million in congressionally approved NEVI funds to add 364 new fast-charging ports at 61 sites through the DCFC Plaza’s grant program. Polis office said in a news release that the Polis administration… has contracted for two rounds of projects and announced awards for a third in late december many of these projects will start construction this spring two nevi funded sites have opened to date with numerous more sites anticipating to open in 2025 so i did the math And I looked up how many actual ports you get at a fast charge station. Keep in mind, fast charge means DC, meaning you can charge an EV vehicle in 10 to 15 minutes. It’s direct charge because all EVs have a direct charge, a DC battery. They don’t have an AC. Sorry, direct current, not direct charge. The DC is direct current charging. So we are literally, as taxpayers… We’re spending $92,000 on a fast charge station, meaning that each port, because of how many ports come through an actual fast charge station, we’re on average between $25,000 to $30,000 a port. That’s what it’s costing us as taxpayers. Yeah. In other words, folks, this isn’t cheap. You’re paying for this. And on top of all of this, so far there’s been no means of protection when it comes to these stations because they get broken, they get damaged, the cords get stolen because of the copper that’s inside and so on. It’s not like a regular gas pump hose.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, the bottom line is… Your governor is spending a big bunch of money for charging stations for cars that are generally owned by wealthy people while you have homeless people all over the streets. Correct. Okay? That’s how he’s using the money. Correct. You’ve got a massive homeless problem here in Colorado. You’ve got a huge problem with, by the way, car theft here in Colorado. Right? You don’t have enough cops. They’re not out there. We just don’t have what we need. So you’ve got a lot of cars getting stolen. You’ve got homeless people all over the place. You’ve got a big drug problem. But what’s he spending money on? Okay. electric carports for rich people.
SPEAKER 14 :
Somebody just said one of the problems we have with this whole charging station thing is that Americans are grossly ignorant, and those on the left believe that oil companies own the gas stations. Yeah, well, and that they’re also subsidized. Yeah, no, they’re not subsidized. Nope. They’re not owned by the oil companies. Now, there are some stations in some states where the oil company may have a lease on that station or something along those lines.
SPEAKER 01 :
Exxon stations.
SPEAKER 14 :
In some cases, they might own the station outright, although keep in mind that was done with their own R&D profits and so on. They didn’t expect government or a taxpayer to actually fund that station. They did that on their own. Most stations, though, across the country are independently owned and operated. They may hang the sign. And keep in mind, folks, you remember the industry I’ve come from, so I do know a little bit about how these things work. So in most cases… the operator has agreed with a contract to buy said fuel from that particular supplier oil company they’ll hang the signs there’s some incentives to actually do that i’m not getting all the details of how that works but there’s some incentives to you know be exxon or chevron or shell or whatever the case may be and it’s all done internally and there’s there’s some fights sometimes on who wants that particular corner and what kind of incentives will the oil company give that operator to put their sign there instead of somebody else and It’s just the way the world works.
SPEAKER 03 :
Which is good, by the way. They’re competing, and the operator benefits.
SPEAKER 14 :
It works very well. Bottom line is, no, the oil company doesn’t own that. An owner-operator does, and sometimes it’s a single owner-operator. Sometimes it’s an owner-operator that might have several locations across town. Sometimes some guys might join forces, and they might own a dozen or more stations around town. Bottom line, though, thank you for stating this as a texter. Bottom line is, folks on the left believe the oil companies own these. They do not in most cases.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, number one, they don’t own them. And number two, John, are your tax dollars paying for that? No. No! They are not. Okay.
SPEAKER 14 :
At a time when we have shortages of money in our budget. Let me answer it this way. In some cases, are my tax dollars paying for that? Well, directly, no. No. Now, does every business, gas stations, because this is what you always hear from the left, so I’ll say it correctly. Every business… By the way, it doesn’t matter who owns it.
SPEAKER 03 :
Has right off.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right, left, whatever. They all have depreciable assets.
SPEAKER 03 :
Obviously. That’s just business.
SPEAKER 14 :
So when you have that gas station and you upgrade your pumps or your tanks or the nozzle or whatever, yes, there’s things that you’re doing as an operator that you get deductions for. And by the way, our tax code, for all of you that maybe don’t know this on the left, the tax code is written in such a way that it encourages economic growth for certain types of deductions that actually make the economy move forward. Yeah, but that’s not… Polis taking a bunch of tax dollars and just building things. No, that’s not taking congressional dollars. Right. Which, by the way, they’re not congressional dollars. There are dollars.
SPEAKER 03 :
There are dollars. It’s all tax dollars. Look, he is taking congressional dollars. He’s taking this money and putting it into charging stations for primarily wealthier people’s cars. Yep.
SPEAKER 14 :
mid to upper level uh you know income people’s cars and by the way when we have needs elsewhere that’s not the market we’ve already proven that it is not the market again i live and breathe and eat and sleep and drink and grew up in that world and i will just tell you from all the coaching and other things i do yes there are some ev owners and yes i’m encouraging even some of my shops to learn how to work on some of them because the market’s getting big enough that it behooves them to do so but by and large You know, Colorado is still an ICE-operated state. Internal combustion engine, gas or diesel, it’s still that type of driving we have in this state. Oh, overwhelmingly. Oh, probably. I’d have to look it up. I think last I checked, Colorado has about an 8% or so saturation rate. I’d have to double-check. Some of you know what that rate is. Which is very high. Please let me know. But, yeah, it is as the state goes.
SPEAKER 03 :
But, you know, and here’s the thing. We’ve got to keep in mind, it’s very high at a little over 8%, right? But that’s at a time… That’s high as far as the national average goes, yes. That’s at a time when nationally, and it’s going to hit here, it’s hitting here too, electric car sales, EV sales are plummeting.
SPEAKER 14 :
So vehicle sales have reached about 25% in Colorado, but that doesn’t mean that’s all… So be careful when you read these stats, by the way. Those are sales… You have to realize that the average fleet’s about 13 years old. So just because one year you had 25% sales doesn’t mean that 25% of the fleet is EV. So be careful when you read some of these because the press will try to mislead you in these things. Right. making it seem like there’s more of them on the road than there is. There are not. That’s my point. All right, I’ll look up some more of those stats and bring those back to you in a moment so some of you actually have those and can talk about those around the water cooler. Safe boxes, by the way, great new sponsor of ours. I’ve talked about them here since yesterday, and it’s a safety deposit box. It’s a location that has all of them there. It’s highly secure, and you can store more there than what you would at your normal bank. And by the way… In a lot of cases, banks are doing away with these. Anyways, they start at $15 a month, 303-771-8000.

High Five Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electric can install a tankless water heater as soon as today. Tankless water heaters are preferred to tank heaters because they heat the water as you use it, meaning you’ll never run out of hot water again. Tankless water heaters also save you money on energy costs because you’re not constantly heating up that big tank. And because they are so efficient, you will save more money in the long run. High Five customers also enjoy tankless heaters because they take up less physical space in your utility closet or laundry room. These tankless heaters can even add to your home’s resale value. SPEAKER 14 :
All right. I did the math. Found a vehicle registration counts by state. Now, this is 2023, so these numbers will be a little bit off for 2024, although not much. In fact, I’m going to be gracious. I’m going to be gracious to the EV owners and Governor Polis. Because I looked up how many registered EVs we have in 2024, but I don’t have total registrations for gasoline and diesel vehicles. So I’m being very kind here, Andy. Okay. There’s roughly 156,000 EVs registered in Colorado. That doesn’t count plug-in hybrids and hybrid vehicles itself. This is just strictly EVs, so plug-in EVs. But the total of gasoline and diesel engines combined, diesel engine vehicles combined, is about 4.7 million. So if you do the math on that, EVs in Colorado make up about 3% is all of the vehicles that are on the road. So Governor Polis is basically telling Trump… that he is against the movement of people. Remember the quote that I read you? I’m going to go back and read that again so you all can hear this. The Trump administration is attacking, this is a quote from Governor Polis, is attacking the freedom to move, including the freedom to drive, and putting their own agenda above what Americans and the market are demanding. So you tell me, everybody listening, those of you even on the left, How is a 3% market share in Colorado and Trump now shutting down funding for those 3% of the individuals driving EVs? Who are wealthier on average. Correct. Either way. It doesn’t even matter on that. I don’t even care on that. Just saying. Well, Democrats care. In general, though. How is it that Trump is shutting down the freedom to move when it’s only 3% of the population, which, by the way, I don’t even know these stats because most people don’t ask, but how many of them actually have other cars to drive besides an EV like myself? So then it’s like, okay, well, wait a minute. You don’t even count because you can get in something else and drive if you’d like to. You don’t have to drive your EV. You can go drive your F-250 if you want to. So at the end of the day, my point is that number, that 156 on EV only drivers where they have nothing else to drive is probably even a fraction of that 156 K. So Polis’s antics, which is all they are, they’re talking points, antics and saying that Donald Trump and his administration is attacking the freedom to move. is a blatant lie of course and we as a colorado gop should be putting out bulletins on this informing everybody by the way of what i just said and the stats i just gave all of you and yet we’re not right so when you’re at the water cooler tomorrow or you’re talking to a family member or whatever, and they start having this conversation about, well, yeah, Trump’s trying to shut down all of this EV expansion as far as all of the charge stations and that go. You can give those same numbers I just gave you. And by the way, Colorado is one of the leading states. Let me go back to this chart. Colorado is one of the leading states For registered vehicles. California is the biggest, of course. $1,256,000 is what California has. And Florida, I believe, is the next biggest. And then we’re right in line right after that. So we’re like number three or four when it comes to EV owners in the country.
SPEAKER 03 :
Right. And Trump is saying, we don’t want the taxpayer footing the bill for that 3%. How is that keeping people from moving?
SPEAKER 14 :
And somebody quickly could do the math because I can’t do this in my head that quickly. There’s roughly in the United States about 250,000 or sorry, 250 million registered vehicles. So 250 million registered vehicles. Total EVs in the United States of America in 2023, but I’m using 2023 ICE numbers as well. And by the way, 2024 wasn’t a great year for EVs, but without being said, there’s only 3.5 million EVs. So there’s 250 million ICE vehicles on the road, and there’s 3.5 million EVs is all. It is, again, folks, a fraction of total drivership that’s out there, and yet you’ve got folks on the left, like Governor Polis, whining about Donald Trump cutting off funding, which we should be doing anyways. I was never a fan of it from the get-go. The whole transportation gouge on the American public, which is exactly what it was. It was an inflation act is what it really was when it was all said and done. The reality is paying for charge stations to the tunes of billions upon billions of dollars Coast to coast for a very small percentage of the population of drivers. Right. To subsidize your preferred little group. Correct.
SPEAKER 03 :
And you know what? Governor Polis, that’s what you’re all about. You want government to subsidize all your preferred little groups. And this is just the latest one.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yep. Folks, again, these are things hate to hound on our own party here, but these are the things in our state when a governor polis and we’ve got a governor’s race coming up in two years, when we’ve got him coming out and saying absolute flat out lies. In fact, here’s let me go one step further with our own Colorado GOP. Instead of, which the chair should be doing this, but let’s say the chair is not very good on camera. Okay? Not everybody is. I’m not great on camera. I’m good on radio. I’m not good on camera. Don’t know why. I just don’t like it. Okay? So I’m not good on camera. So don’t ask me to be on TV. It’s not my thing. Don’t want to be.
SPEAKER 03 :
I don’t even look at you while we’re doing the show.
SPEAKER 14 :
Thank you. So point being, and follow me here, as a party, we’re paying high-priced lawyers to defend stupid lawsuits. Okay? We have hired a basically anti-Rhino attorney. I don’t know what his salary is going to be. I haven’t seen the FEC reports yet, but I will find out on that. We would be better off to have hired a media person that the minute something like this happens, they can go to every single news station, hold a press conference, say, you know what? We’re going to respond to what Governor Polis said about Trump yesterday on blah, blah, blah. And we want to hold a press conference. Everybody come down to the GOP headquarters because we’re going to chat. Yeah.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, you know, the Michigan Republican Party does that.
SPEAKER 14 :
They’re light on their feet. Boom. They got a statement. We should be doing that here. Yeah. But folks, again, please hear me when I say this. Even all of you that are against me and you think that I’m so anti-Dave, which I am. Because of what we’re talking about right now. I’m anti-Dave because he doesn’t lead the party. He’s got his own agenda. He’s only worried about Dave. He’s not worried about the average, everyday Republican and or Coloradan, for that matter, that’s in the state of Colorado. He’s only worried about his own little circle. And honestly, at the end of the day, he’s not even worried about them. He’s only worried about him. And I’m proving it by the things I’m stating today, folks. I’m proving it. So if any of you out there think I’m wrong, prove it. Show me where I’m wrong. Text me. Email me. Give me the documents. Show me where I’m actually wrong, because everything I just said is what our party should be doing right now. And we’re not. And by the way, I can tell you from all of the money… that we have spent on frivolous lawsuits, defending frivolous things, employing other attorneys and so on, you could have paid this media person, oh, 150 to 200K a year to do what I’m talking about very easily. Meaning we could have a pretty good paid media person to do this stuff. Yeah. So don’t let the, well, we don’t have any money for that fool you, because that’s the other thing you’ll hear coming out of this leadership.
SPEAKER 03 :
Oh, my gosh. We can’t afford that. Look at all the money they spent just avoiding a vote. Thank you.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s upwards of $100,000. So, again, those of you that maybe don’t like my rhetoric when it comes to these things, please listen to the things that I am saying in this regard and how we combat the left, which we’re not doing at all. And I have to ask the question, why? Why? Hugo, I know you listen to me. Why, Hugo? Raymond, I know you listen as well. Why? Why are we not doing these things, guys? Why not? Ann is another one. I can go down the list.
SPEAKER 03 :
Because that has nothing to do with getting rhinos.
SPEAKER 14 :
Why are we not doing these things?
SPEAKER 03 :
Because it has nothing to do with hunting rhinos. It has nothing to do with feeding their rage.
SPEAKER 14 :
It’s a bunch of BS, and you guys know it, by the way. Yeah. I’m calling you all out. It’s a bunch of BS. None of you are thinking even the way that I just said we should be doing as a party. And I have to ask the question, why not? Why not? Why are we not doing this, folks? Right. I’ll leave it at that. We’ll come right back. Ridgeline Auto Brokers. SPEAKER 11 :
It’s time to leave your safe space. This is Rush to Reason on KLZ 560.
SPEAKER 14 :
All right, we are back. Last segment that we’ve got here on Rush to Reason. Myself, Andy Pate. Appreciate you all joining us, by the way, today. The text messages have come in as well. And I know, I really rail at times on our own party here in Colorado and what we’re not doing to move the football forward. But folks, I don’t know any other way to bring awareness to this. And unless I can get awareness into the right areas and the right individuals, I don’t see some of these things changing. And we will continue to lose the battle that we have going on in Colorado. And believe me, our freedom… And what we do here in Colorado, in my opinion, matters. The amount of property tax that you guys are paying matters. Your Tabor refund matters. The budget crisis, which they call it that in Colorado, which, by the way, it’s not, matters. Education in Colorado matters. Gun control in Colorado and what they keep running there matters. I can go down the list, Andy.
SPEAKER 03 :
How about winning four House seats this time around? They matter, Andy. Which the state party did nothing to help. Look, all four of those candidates have come out and said they didn’t help. They’re divisive.
SPEAKER 14 :
No, in fact, if anything, they hurt them. They did hurt them. That’s the issue. They would have won better. They hurt them. So, yes, folks, this is near and dear to me because I want to see us start moving the football forward. And as I’ve said a hundred times on the show, I said it even when Dave wasn’t chairman, I hate losing. Yeah. Ask anybody that knows me. I hate losing. And we lose far too much here in Colorado as a party. And frankly, folks, the frustrating part for me is there’s no reason for it. It’d be one thing if we had everything going in the right direction, the machine was working great, and all of a sudden we just lose because of whatever. But that’s not the case, folks.
SPEAKER 03 :
John, we’re obviously going to lose a fair amount because of the incredible influx of blue state voters over the last couple decades. Absolutely. I understand. We’re in a blue state.
SPEAKER 14 :
I get that, too, Andy.
SPEAKER 03 :
I get how it became blue. I understand that. What I don’t understand is… is a state party leadership that literally campaigns against its own candidates, that literally launches websites called Rhino Watch that attack their own people.
SPEAKER 14 :
You know why? Because in their eyes, you and I don’t, and those people don’t pass the purity test. Right. That’s why. That’s why. That’s really what it boils down to. By the way, for those of you listening, it’s a purity test that Christ himself couldn’t pass. Well, and it’s also… Let me explain. Oh, go ahead. Let me explain. It’s a purity test that Jesus Christ himself, our Lord and Savior, if he was here on earth right now, could not pass their purity test. And here’s why. Because Christ associates with everyone. Christ makes friends with everyone. Christ will go to dinner with anyone. Christ did all sorts of things that the hardcore Pharisees accused him of being a heretic over, and basically they hung him on the cross for it, by the way, when it was all said and done. I hate to say this, our own GOP party today would do the same thing to him all over again. They probably would. Because he doesn’t pass their purity test. No. Am I right, Andy?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. Yeah, and the thing that really gets me is when you really get down to their purity test, and not the one that they put out. They didn’t even care about that. Trump wouldn’t have made it on there. Their main purity test has nothing to do with any of your values, your priorities, your beliefs, your… It doesn’t matter. Pick a topic. What it all has to do with is your loyalty. Right. Right. Okay, how loyal are you to Dave Williams? How loyal are you to, you know, Matt Gaetz? How loyal are you to, of course, the biggie, Donald Trump? And it’s just like, you know, and here you and I, they call us a rhino. Folks, you want to know why we get called rhinos? Because while John and I look at Donald Trump and say, yeah, we’re loving every day of this. Yeah, go baby, go MAGA. We also say he’s a lousy debater. And we would overhaul entitlements. So we don’t actually agree with Trump 100%. That, to them, makes us traitors.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right. Traitors. Correct. Correct.
SPEAKER 03 :
Because at times we’ve actually said, you know what? Yeah, Trump’s a phenomenal president, but we had some other candidates who would win bigger. And they would. Okay? There have been times when other candidates would win bigger. Sorry, the polls showed it.
SPEAKER 14 :
Right. But they don’t care. With all that being said, he is. We’re still behind him. We want to see everything happen that he’s doing moving forward. We’re very much in favor of the things that he’s doing right now. Does that mean that I’m always 100% in favor of the things he does and how he does it? I said this on the podcast last week. I would not, if I was Donald Trump, for example… I would not have come out after the plane crash that soon and have blamed that on DEI. You’ve got people whose families have, you know, somebody just passed away in the family. Yeah, it was a bad move. I would not be pointing blame at that point in time on DEI. Now, there’s a lot of you hardcore righties that would say, oh, no, John, that’s exactly the right time to do it. Yeah, no, it’s pretty insensitive, actually.
SPEAKER 03 :
John, let me tell you this. Grading someone’s conservatism by the level of their loyalty to a person, that’s a religion.
SPEAKER 14 :
That is not a political movement. Well, and that’s where I go back to using Christ as the example. Other than his own heavenly father, was Christ that way at all, Andy? Did he pay homage to Caesar or anybody along those lines whatsoever? Nope. Any one particular person, even?
SPEAKER 11 :
No.
SPEAKER 14 :
Did he eat with the tax collectors, which, by the way, were the most evil of evil at the time? Yeah. Did he hang out with prostitutes? Yep. Did he do all sorts of things that the higher-end folks, you know, the more pious—they weren’t Christians then, but the more pious Jews at that time—did he do things they didn’t like? Yes. And did they crucify him over it?
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, they served him up. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 :
The Romans crucified him, but they served him up, right? Right, right. In fact, they had a choice. And I’m not trying to get all spiritual on you guys, but they had a choice at one point. Do you want Christ or do you want Barabbas? Which one do you want? Barabbas. Thank you, Andy. Yeah, yeah. So at the end of the day, didn’t they really put him on the cross themselves? I mean, I know we all did. Our sins did. I get that. But in essence, they contributed greatly.
SPEAKER 03 :
You know, I took a lot of heat today on Facebook because I talked about the Davidians, how they’ve taken over the party. And people are like, oh, man, you’re equating us to a Waco cult and all this. Yeah. Look. And? Well, I don’t know that they’re going to start drinking strange punch.
SPEAKER 14 :
Time out. Some would, Andy. I’ve talked to some of these people.
SPEAKER 03 :
Some would. Look, John, these folks who support Dave, okay? They literally grade your conservatism not on your policies that you believe, right? Not on your beliefs, but rather on your loyalties to one person or another, right? That is a religion that is not a political movement. Number two, they are absolutely incapable of defending Dave in debate. The second you come and say, okay, well, he did this and this and this and this, and what do you do? They can’t defend any of it. They run away and hide, right?
SPEAKER 14 :
All of what I’ve said today, Andy.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, this is what cult members do. Correct. Cult members do that.
SPEAKER 14 :
Every one of them should be listening to the things I said today in regards to some of the things that happened lately with Weiser and, by the way, Griswold, even the snafu she had during the election and the ballots and different things along those lines, or the leaks, I should say, on the BIOS numbers and everything. You know, password numbers and so on, or the passwords themselves, I should say. Polis and what he just said. Again, if we were more worried about communicating as a party and holding press conferences and things along those lines, instead of hiring attorneys out the wazoo, three, mind you, or let’s see, a firm, a single individual, and now one on staff.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, but cult members don’t care about strategies like that.
SPEAKER 14 :
By the way, we have to be the most lawyered-up GOP party in the country. It’s all lawyers. Unbelievable. They spent all their money on lawyers. Unbelievable.
SPEAKER 03 :
Which, by the way, they were not spending it on candidates. Okay? I’m telling you what, man. I don’t know. I… What does it do to you, John, when you look at Trump? He’s just doing great. He’s doing awesome. Hitting home runs every day, every day. It’s fantastic. You know that the red wave, he is not only raising the popularity of himself, he’s raising the popularity of the GOP, and he is crushing the popularity of the Democrats right now. They’re at their lowest point. OK, their unfavorability. They’re at a negative 26 right now. I’ve never seen a party hit that. OK, they are hated and they’re going to be more hated as Elon starts leaking more and more stuff that they’ve been doing with our money. OK, and you see Trump doing this and just riding this incredible red wave. And then you look here. And you look at our priorities here.
SPEAKER 14 :
What does it do to you? Frustration. I think you could see today even just my frustration level is at an absolute all-time high with not only our state and our state party, but the Democrats, what they’re doing to the state, reading these things about Polis today, and the fact that he’s flat-out lying to the public, and a certain amount of those people will listen to him and understand, or will listen and believe that, partially because… We’re not countering it at all, Andy. We have no voice in this state whatsoever to counter that. None.
SPEAKER 05 :
Zero.
SPEAKER 14 :
Zilch. Yeah. And it’s a shame because we have the resources. We have the money. We have the ability. There’s no reason why we’re not. We’re just so, I hate to say it this way, so inbred right now that we can’t see beyond that. I don’t know how this, I don’t know how to say it. I’m at a loss of words. This is a dire note.
SPEAKER 03 :
We need to be more upbeat.
SPEAKER 14 :
I would love to be. Okay, let’s talk about Golden Eagle and your future finances, which, yes, those need to be upbeat. You need to stay on top of them. SPEAKER 11 :
We don’t yell at you. We inform you. Now, back to Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 14 :
All right. I also had a little fun in my own neighborhood over in the Arvada area and did a post today on some things regarding a development that is trying to get put through. And so I might talk about that a little bit more tomorrow. One of you actually must be a part of that group and saw it and were commenting. So I may talk about that a little bit more tomorrow. Just as a side note. I will always be the property rights owner’s advocate, no matter what the rest of the neighborhood and people around think, because I believe in personal property rights. If you take those away from folks in America, we’ve lost. Yep. I agree. If you let the masses, if you let the democracy rule and the majority rule and don’t allow people their own property rights and what they want to do on it, in this case, it’s a commercial property that’s been zoned that way for about 40 years. If you take that away, shame on you. Agreed. So we’ll talk more about that tomorrow. Guys, have a great night. Be safe out there. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560.
