In this compelling episode, John Rush dives deep into the education system’s flaws, outlining how the Department of Education has overburdened local school districts with endless data collection that provides little value. Listen in as John and his guest articulate their concerns about the rising costs per student and the alarming literacy rates plaguing the nation. The episode rivetingly captures the societal and educational struggles of our times while reflecting on personal childhood experiences that shaped resilience and self-sufficiency.
SPEAKER 07 :
This is Rush to Reason.
SPEAKER 08 :
You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out because you’re scared. And you’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Let me break this down for you. Life is scary. Get used to it. There are no magical fixes.
SPEAKER 07 :
With your host, John Rush.
SPEAKER 08 :
My advice to you is to do what your parents did. Get a job, Turk. You haven’t made everybody equal. You’ve made them the same, and there’s a big difference.
SPEAKER 18 :
Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. It is this feeling that has brought you to me.
SPEAKER 04 :
Are you crazy? Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind? It’s Rush to Reason with your host, John Rush. Presented by High Five Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 06 :
All right, we are back. Hour three, Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Joe, what’s going on, sir?
SPEAKER 09 :
John, I want to talk about the Department of Education and the cost it imposes on local school districts. But before that, did you ever take down that video of you crying that you posted after Trump lost the Biden campaign?
SPEAKER 06 :
Me crying? You mean cheering?
SPEAKER 09 :
No, no. In 2020, when Trump lost.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, yeah. Yeah, I was. Yeah. Well, no, I just sucked it up and came in and did my thing the next day, as you know.
SPEAKER 09 :
John, I mean, there are literally dozens of people. I know. Taking videos of themselves, weeping tearfully and posting them on social media.
SPEAKER 06 :
Joe, really quick. You’ll love this since you since you just brought that up. Got a good friend of mine. that I consult with that said his oldest daughter goes to see you and got home, told a few stories about some of the other students talking about the results of the election. He says, I can’t believe the story she told me. One girl told her friend that she hopes that the people that voted for Trump will die in a car crash. One of the teachers sent an email to the students saying that he was going to take two weeks off to process what just happened. Joe, this is absolutely ridiculous.
SPEAKER 09 :
Right. And you heard the story about the principal sent a letter home to parents that if you’re second in that, this was like high school. If your kid is too distraught by the results, they can stay home.
SPEAKER 05 :
Unbelievable.
SPEAKER 09 :
And if they come to school, we’ll have counselors available to help them deal with the anxiety.
SPEAKER 06 :
Suck it up, folks. We did the same thing in 2020.
SPEAKER 09 :
Just suck it up. And there’s so much anger. You know, my sister sent me a study. that goes back a couple of years of somebody wearing a Trump MAGA hat walking into a crowd of liberals. And they damn near attacked him, did everything but throw rocks and beat him with sticks. And then conversely, they had the same person put on a Biden T-shirt and walk into a crowd of conservatives, and people were polite, you know, and nobody – cursed at him, swore at him. So it’s, it’s amazing.
SPEAKER 06 :
But they’re the side of tolerance, Joe.
SPEAKER 09 :
But it’s the conservatives who are accepting. Brian, you want to wear your Biden shirt?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, we don’t care, Joe. I mean, you know, we just sort of look at it like, well, okay, if you want to be a knucklehead, go for it.
SPEAKER 09 :
You want to be a knucklehead, go for it. Anyway, reason I called is first hour, you talk about Department of Education. I don’t think people understand the real cost. And about a week ago, I sent you a study about how the inflation-adjusted cost per student per year has tripled. And here’s part of the reason, I believe. The Department of Education has become a machine that feeds itself on reports and data that they demand and extract from the local. There are over 100,000 K-12 schools in this country. And if you figure an average of five schools per school district, that’s 20,000 school districts. And those 20,000 school districts every month have to extract, compile, collate, and transmit data to the U.S. Department of Education, not only monthly, but quarterly summaries and annual summaries. And, John, most of it, there’s no value added. You know, sending the, by the way, and I guarantee you those, and if you were to print, it’s all electronic, but I guarantee you, if you were to print those reports out, John, every month, you know, if you took 20,000 reports eight pages thick. What would that be, 10, 12 feet high? Nobody’s reading that.
SPEAKER 05 :
No, no one.
SPEAKER 09 :
But they have it on file. If they ever need to research something, they say, well, we have the data. We can go back and look at it. But nobody’s reading it. But I’ve got a niece who’s in a school in New Jersey, and she tells me there are people both in her local school and at the district school office, they do nothing but generate reports. Wow. Think about this, John. If you’ve got 20,000 school districts each month sending just 10 pages of data to the Federal Department of Education, 20,000 times 10 pages is 200,000 pages of data being compiled and transmitted to the Federal Department every month, not every year. Every month. 200,000 pages.
SPEAKER 06 :
And it was established under Carter, correct? Under Carter, absolutely. Established under Carter. We’ve had it since then. And the reality for all of you listening that are on the other side of the aisle that believe that department should exist, Joe, are our test scores higher today because of it?
SPEAKER 09 :
No, test scores are actually lower. And I sent you something earlier today about U.S. literacy rates. I don’t know if you had a chance to read that.
SPEAKER 06 :
I did. I’m trying to get a guest on next week to talk about that very report, Joe, and the fact that the Department of Education just needs to expand it, put it back on the state level, because all we’re doing is wasting money.
SPEAKER 09 :
Right. And let me just – I know you’re going to talk about it next week and day, but here’s just some highlights. More than half the adults in this country have reading literacy problems. below a 6th grade level. Amazing. 21% of Americans 18 and older are functionally illiterate. Can you imagine almost a quarter of the people in this country are functionally illiterate?
SPEAKER 06 :
That is… I mean, Joe… I’m speechless in a way, because when you say that, and I don’t consider myself to be, I’m not a highly educated man. I made it to high school, you know, through high school, barely, Joe. And at the end of the day, what you’re telling me, I just have a hard time grasping. Because a high school education should make you literate.
SPEAKER 09 :
It should. But, you know, today, John, we promote people. You look at Chicago, you know, nobody gets held back in Chicago. They just promote them up and out. I don’t have the statistic at my fingertips, but there was some enormous percentage of the people that get a high school diploma in Chicago can’t read or do simple math at eighth grade level.
SPEAKER 06 :
Amazing. Again, Joe, I have a hard time wrapping my head around that because those were things, and again, I don’t consider myself to be highly intelligent by any stretch of the imagination, but those are things I could do by the time I got out of probably the fourth grade.
SPEAKER 09 :
John, I was going to say the same thing because I was reading here about – I was thinking back to my fourth grade. I remember I was in elementary school. I was probably in – John, I was 10, 12 years old. And I remember taking books home from the library to read.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right. Joe, I could do all of the basic things that I’m guessing some high school seniors can’t do I was doing in third and fourth grade.
SPEAKER 1 :
Yep.
SPEAKER 06 :
And I’m not exaggerating. I mean, I could do long division. I could do long multiplication. I could do math problems. I mean, I wasn’t doing algebra in third or fourth grade. But as far as figuring basic things out so that you could survive in life, I mean, Joe, I had a paper route at nine that I had to figure my own checkbook, write a check to the paper company, Boulder Daily Camera, and then go collect it once a month so I could get paid.
SPEAKER 09 :
John, you and me both. I had a paper route seven days a week. Newark Star-Ledger, I was living and grew up in North Jersey. Newark Star-Ledger, I was delivering papers seven days a week, including in the snow at 6 a.m. on Sunday morning.
SPEAKER 06 :
Back then, the daily camera had to be delivered in the evenings by 6 and in the mornings on Saturdays and Sundays by 6 a.m. So 6 p.m. during the week. 6 a.m. on the weekend, so you’d get home from school, you’d get your bundle, you’d put your inserts in. If it was a night like tonight where we have snow in Colorado, Joe, you had to put it inside of the wrapper, if you would. You had to put all your stuff in it. You had to buy all of your own supplies, by the way. They didn’t give you any of that. And you hustled out your papers on the handlebar of your bicycle, and it didn’t matter if it was snowing, you delivered them.
SPEAKER 09 :
And if it was snowing too deep for your bike, you went out with a big canvas bag over your shoulder.
SPEAKER 06 :
Correct.
SPEAKER 09 :
And you walked it. And you walked it. And you can only carry about 14, 15 papers at a time. That’s right. So you carry 14 or 15 out, came back to the house, got another 14 or 15. Correct. And you’re trudging through the snow in the dark.
SPEAKER 06 :
And if you’re really lucky and your mom felt sorry for you, she might drive you. But that was on rare occasions.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, my mother wasn’t going to get up at 6 a.m. on a snowy Sunday morning to drive my paper route.
SPEAKER 06 :
The only relief I got, Joe, and because we went to church as a family back then, and the only relief I got was on Sunday mornings, my dad would drive me one day a week because we went to church right after. So I got a relief on Sundays.
SPEAKER 09 :
You got a relief on Sundays. Let me give you one more statistic. You know what state has the lowest literacy rate in the country? with 23% of their population having little to no proficiency in reading skills?
SPEAKER 06 :
Let me think for a minute. California?
SPEAKER 09 :
California.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, man, I got that one right. And I didn’t read your report, and I guessed and got that right.
SPEAKER 09 :
Most liberals would like to tell you that it’s New Orleans or Mississippi.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right, right.
SPEAKER 09 :
No, no. It’s California. It has the highest illiteracy rate in the entire country. Amazing.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, I’m going to do my best to get this guest on because he’s a part of some administrations and most likely will be a part of Trump’s. That’s the talks. I’m going to do my best to get him on.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. John, it just blew me away. I knew it was getting bad when I did that other analysis last week about how much we’re spending the – And again, this isn’t comparing 1970 dollars to 2000. This is comparing inflation dollars to dollars.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah. Dollars to dollars.
SPEAKER 09 :
Wow. We have tripled the spending per student and no results. Well, less than no results. I would be happy with no results, John.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, because our education level back then was better than today. Better than today, absolutely. Wow, amazing. So that’s where we are. Joe, as always, I appreciate it. You’re welcome, John. Thank you, man. Have a great night. And, yes, I will do my very best to get that guest on. I reached out to them today. I actually got a request to have them come on, and I reached back out, and I’ll do my best to make sure we can get them dialed in for next week to dovetail into what Joe just talked about. Veteran windows and doors. And I’ll tell you what, 35% off windows and doors is the starting deal. Find out what Dave can do for you specifically. Just go to klzradio.com.
SPEAKER 17 :
Veteran Windows and Doors challenge you to ask every window and door salesperson about the ratings of their windows and doors. Owner Dave Bancroft knows other window and door companies are trained only to sell, not on whether their windows are even engineered for your home. Dave has an app where he can show you the exact door the other company showed you, but Dave will also include the correct efficiency ratings and codes necessary for your home. The other companies’ doors often don’t meet code, energy-efficient ratings, or give you crucial tax credits on your products. Also, Veterans installation methods are far stricter than other companies. They do more flashing, sealing, and installation than is required to ensure your windows and doors are going to work the way they’re supposed to. And Veteran now offers financing. Get 40% off and free installation when working with Veteran windows and doors by going to klzradio.com.
SPEAKER 06 :

SPEAKER 06 :
This is Rush to Reason on KLZ 560. All right, we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. Okay, I played The View the day after, and I thought, okay, I’ll start with that. And then somebody, great listener, by the way, somebody that’s a great friend also, because I don’t watch Gutfeld. I even pronounced his name wrong earlier, which tells you I don’t watch him. Charlie had to correct me. I don’t watch a lot of TV, period. You guys know that. And I don’t watch a lot of talk-type TV. I don’t know why. Probably because it’s what I do here. It’s the same reason a lot of you would be shocked at this. I don’t watch automotive shows. I’ll watch racing, things like that, but I don’t watch the, you know, do-it-yourselfer or the, you know, let’s get this car fixed, the garage… I mean, I don’t even know the name of some of these shows. The Garage Squad and, you know, Gas Monkey Garage and so on and so forth. I don’t watch any of those. And again, some of you might find that shocking, but I just… I don’t because… It’s what I’ve done for years. Number one, I don’t want to rehash things I did. And then my problem is I pick apart everything they do. Because most of those car shows especially are so outlandish, they couldn’t do what they do in the amount of time they do. And if they did, it would be an awful build. And by the way, a lot of them are. It’s like the home fix-up shows. They go in and do the house flip, and then they come back in several weeks later and actually fix everything that they did in the flip because it’s garbage. These car builds aren’t any different. I’m not at SEMA right now. Normally I am. With the election and knowing how big it was going to be and so on, I made a decision not to go. I was actually still contemplating maybe going even last week. You can ask my wife. I’m talking about it. And finally just made an executive decision at the end. Do I miss not being there? Yes, I’ve told my wife several times I wish I had just gone. But this was important. And being here and doing what we’re doing right now is important. And it was a big election. And it could easily be one of the biggest in our lifetime. So I felt like I needed to be here. But even at SEMA, I’ll go and I’ll look at some of the builds at SEMA, and I just pick things apart because it’s like this is wrong, that’s wrong, that’s wrong. And that’s why I don’t watch the program. So I don’t watch a lot of talk TV, and I don’t listen to other talk shows. Sorry, I know some of you that are out there listen to me, which I’m thankful for. Thank you. If you’re another talk show host in town, thank you for listening. I do appreciate that. I mean that sincerely. I will say, though, I don’t listen to you. I’m sorry. And I’m not trying to say that in a mean or rude way. I just don’t have other things I’m doing. Same thing at night. When I go home, frankly, I’ve done enough talking throughout the day. I’ve coached. I’ve talked to other businesses. I’ve prepped for this show. I’ve done this show. And frankly, in some cases, I talk to people on the way home. I’ve got a coaching call tonight on my way home. And when I get home, I’m done. I will watch something that’s mindless if I watch anything at all. Sometimes I don’t watch anything. It just depends. My wife and I, we actually like going out some evenings, and we go and we’ll play trivia and do different things and so on, and it gets my mind completely off of what I’ve done for the day. So that’s my life. You guys pretty well know me. I’m an open book. And so when it comes to Gutfeld, I don’t watch these things. So I think I can combine breaks. I’ll get going on Gutfeld. It’s only a five-minute clip, and I probably won’t chime in because there’s nothing to chime in about. There is some words because Gutfeld has a different style than I have. And it’s late night, but they’re bleeped out, so you won’t hear what he says, but he’s not my style. Now, a lot of you love him. I’ve got family members that love him. I’m not, but I want to play this just because I think it is pretty fitting, and it’s the opposite of the view the day after. So without further ado, here we go. You live by the hoaxes.
SPEAKER 20 :
So it’s true, Kamala Harris got shellacked like a hardwood floor on this old house. And instead of an evening concession speech, she avoided her supporters like Hunter Biden dodging child support. For the first time, she wasn’t laughing. Although you gotta admit, this is pretty hilarious. Watch.
SPEAKER 19 :
Are there any places where Kamala Harris overperformed from where Biden did?
SPEAKER 09 :
So we can show you that as well. We just bring that out here. Harris overperforming 2020.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, I have to describe this because you can’t see this because it’s this video. The map is blank. There’s nothing on it. That’s what makes it so funny is this guy’s saying, you know, show us. And he does. And this is CNN. And there’s literally nothing on the map. There you go.
SPEAKER 19 :
So let this go away and see if there’s anything on the east side there. Literally nothing? Literally nothing. Literally not one counter? By 3% or more. Ah!
SPEAKER 20 :
This is called a mandate. He won the popular vote by over 5 million. That can’t be explained away. The Dems can’t give their usual excuses with more butt, butt, butts than a Kardashian family reunion. And so there will be changes. Shoplifters may actually have to pay for stuff. Migrant gangs might have to get a new realtor. And Jimmy Kimmel will probably be institutionalized. But there’s a larger question. Did Trump do this by the strength of his personality alone? Or has America changed and Trump’s just the first to call it like it is? I mean, he did that with the media, the same collection of hacks who told us fairy tales about how close this was all going to be and how abortion would send the evil orange man packing and how the polls were going to be honest this time. Turns out they had the accuracy of Stevie Wonder playing Jenga. Truth is… so cheap the truth is musk and joe rogan and a few other podcasts did more to get the word out on this election than all the legacy media combined it’s amazing tells you one thing legacy media is dead i said that yesterday by the way i only hope i only hope that if brian stelter jumps from a window it’s from the first floor so we won’t crush dozens of pedestrians But there’s another group that’s over, too. It’s Hollywood. All the virtue signaling from the Anistons and the Cloonies. It didn’t mean a thing. All that Botox must have paralyzed their brains into believing it matters what they think. Sorry. Sorry, douchebags. You’re just hairless circus bears here to entertain us. The other message, identity politics is dead, D-E-I-D-O-A. Enough with- Enough with dividing Americans into absurd categories that only matter to self-obsessed people with more pronouns than friends. The truth is Americans of all stripes want the same things, prosperity, safety, a president who doesn’t smell like an outhouse. It’s why Trump won record numbers of Hispanics and black voters. But he also won a whole bunch of different people. What else could appeal to both black men and Amish voters? Well, that list is Trump and common sense and fat asses.
SPEAKER 05 :
He’s chewing a donkey, by the way.
SPEAKER 20 :
Now, Trump didn’t do this alone. Talk about unsung heroes. Scott Pressler drove his jalopy into the ground, getting out the vote to flip Pennsylvania. That’s right, a gay man who helped convince the Amish to put down their butter churners and get to the polls and vote for Trump. That’s a movie Hollywood should make, but they won’t. They won’t.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, I’m going to stop for just a moment, because before I forget, I’ve got to slip this in. There is some talk out there. I don’t know how true this is. I think every little bit helped, truthfully. But supposedly, and I have not been able to verify this, there were some raids in some Amish communities for absurd reasons, sort of like the squirrel situation that we talked about on Monday. And supposedly the Amish weren’t happy and did come out in droves in Pennsylvania and voted. So that’s probably not far off of truth, by the way, of what Gutfeld just said.
SPEAKER 20 :
J.D. Vance, who Russ Belters recognized as one of their own. Barron Trump, all eight feet, 11 inches of him, who advised his dad on podcasts. And of course, Muskin Rogan, whose dedication to the free exchange of ideas scares the hell out of liars who only talk in sound bites. And don’t forget Peanut the Squirrel, who did not die in vain. But perhaps the biggest, oh, thank you. But perhaps the biggest unsung hero, Kamala Harris. She was Trump’s secret weapon, proving that you cannot win by identity alone. You need ideas, a vision of a better life, brains. You can’t just tell us how deplorable we are, laugh like a lunatic, and then rush home to make sure Doug’s not tapping the nanny again like a keg of Bud Light. Because whether you like Trump’s policies or not, at least he had some. So will the media learn anything from this? Will the Dems? Of course not. Expect to be told how sexist and racist you are for the next four years. But it won’t work, because by now our collective skin is tougher than a $2 steak. After all, the opposition called Trump a fascist and a Nazi. They shot him. They told us he was a threat to democracy. The coastal elite in the Obamas, Clintons, and Bidens told us no decent person would vote for him. And yet he caused a landslide bigger than the cast of The View on a snowboarding trip. That’s why last night’s reckoning signals something bigger even than Trump. You can see it in the faces of those who voted for him and those who didn’t. The American people went from wanting to deciding, and that decision is now reflected in the calm that you sense right now. We may not get this country back on its feet tomorrow, but we’re well on our way.
SPEAKER 06 :
All right, there you go. And no, as you can tell, he and I are vastly different in our approach, but there’s not much there that I can disagree with. Probably wouldn’t present it in that same way. I wouldn’t. You guys know me. But I can’t argue with anything that he talked about. And as I said, one of the things that he did mention that I’ve not been able to verify, but probably is a piece of the puzzle of everything that happened was that Amish story that he talked about. And I’m sure more of that will come out in the days and weeks ahead. Conrad, you’re next. Go ahead.
SPEAKER 11 :
To start off with, John, congratulations to you and for all the work that you’ve done and we’ve all done to make this wonderful event happen. Thank you. We’ve been praying and we’ve been working. I tell you what, buddy, I haven’t felt this good in four years, and you can know exactly.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, no, I mean, honestly, and I told a few people this, Conrad, as I was driving home Tuesday night and really hoping that we’d have a solid outcome on our side, I had no idea it would be that bad. big of an outcome on our side, but I will tell you, Conrad, honestly, I was dreading doing a show for more years with her as president, because I don’t know how I would have done that. That would have been awful.
SPEAKER 11 :
I don’t know how any of us could have gone on that way. I mean, I just have to put one thing… Listen to that cackling.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah. Thank you for me. I mean, a lot of people can just tune that out. They don’t have to pay any attention. You know, they wouldn’t have to, you know, watch the State of the Union addresses and all the different press conferences and briefings and so on. And, yeah, most people, you can just tune that out, which, by the way, a lot of folks will do with Donald Trump. I, on the other hand, Conrad, it’s my job. You have to do those things. There’s homework, if you would. You have to watch the State of the Unions. I watched all the ones with Biden, even though I didn’t want to. Now, I will tell you this. It was a lot easier to stomach him than her.
SPEAKER 11 :
Absolutely. But, you know, like you said, that’s your job. I just I never whenever there’s a Democrat in there, I just I just can’t stand it. I get so mad. I want to throw something through the TV set.
SPEAKER 06 :
But Conrad, for me personally, would have made it far worse than any of the other Democrats I’ve had to watch, including Obama.
SPEAKER 11 :
Absolutely. I can’t disagree with one bit of what you said, but in light of what you’re playing Gutfeld there, he just cracks me up. He is pretty funny.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, I will admit he’s pretty funny. That little bit right there is pretty funny. If you’re not laughing at that, you’re a lefty.
SPEAKER 11 :
Exactly. Speaking in long lines of humor, how’d you like that little Sopranos thing, that text?
SPEAKER 06 :
They’re all, I mean, I have had so many things sent to me, Conrad, little clips and bits and so on. Absolutely hilarious.
SPEAKER 11 :
Yeah. That one, one of my buddies that lives up here in Evergreen sent that to me, and I just love this, because, you know, I love all those Mafia movies and Godfather and The Sopranos and all that, you know?
SPEAKER 05 :
I do, too. So…
SPEAKER 11 :
My wife’s half Sicilian, so that adds to it.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, there you go. Awesome. No, it was a good night, and it’s been a good two days after Conrad, and it’ll just continue to get better. And, you know, yes, Donald Trump won. He’s not my savior, and even he has said that. But we need people here on Earth that will do the things that we need to as a country moving forward. And I think what really happened on Tuesday night is, you know, this country’s not over yet.
SPEAKER 11 :
Absolutely. God gave us a second chance.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 11 :
We are going to keep the house, too, right?
SPEAKER 06 :
You know, it’s looking more and more like that, and we’ll continue to watch it. It’s not a done deal, but it’s looking better, yes.
SPEAKER 11 :
Okay. Yeah, and then I wish that Gabe Evans could have won, but I mean, I don’t know if that’s been decided yet either.
SPEAKER 06 :
I don’t think it’s decided yet. I think, I don’t know, it’s within 2,000 votes right now. Most likely, Conrad, as you know, it’s not over because there’ll be a recount, as you know. If that’s close, automatically there’s a recount. Nobody even pays. It just gets recounted.
SPEAKER 11 :
That’s what needs to be done. God bless you again.
SPEAKER 06 :
Thank you, Conrad. I appreciate that very much. Thank you, man. No, and I appreciate Conrad and his vote of confidence. I hope we and our show played a little part of what happened Tuesday night, although Colorado doesn’t really have much say when it comes to the Electoral College and so on. But by the popular vote, every little vote counts. counts, I believe. And so, yeah, in that light, yes, I hope we did make some difference. And then, you know, we’ve got states that we broadcast into that do vote red. And I do think we make a difference in and we make a difference even on some of the local issues and things that happen in Colorado. I honestly wish we made a bigger difference because I don’t like how blue our state is. But all we can do is keep working at it and keep chipping away at things one day at a time. Hi-5 Plumbing is next. Speaking of chipping away at things, if you’ve got issues with your home, whether it be electrical, whether it be plumbing, Hi-5 is the place to call. 877-WE-HI-5.
SPEAKER 17 :
You’ve got to get your electrical system checked out before the holidays, and right now you can call Hi-5 for that, too. Hi-5 has sourced some of the best talent in Denver electricians to bring you their new electrical division so they can handle any job, big or small. Because a small problem like flickering lights will become a much bigger problem if it’s ignored. You want to identify those safety issues and outage potentials before they happen. And Hi-5 can help you do that. When you schedule an electrical inspection, Hi-5 can come out the same day in most cases and check all your outlets, switches, and panels to make sure you’re safe to party through another season. And just like High Five Plumbing, all their electrical techs are licensed and insured, so you can be sure you’re getting your electrical fixed the right way. Get in touch with High Five to schedule your electrical inspection today by clicking their link on the klzradio.com advertisers page.

SPEAKER 04 :
Now, back to Rush to Reason, presented by Hi-5 Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, where every call ends with a high five.
SPEAKER 06 :
All right, and we are back. Rush to Reason, Denver’s Afternoon Rush, KLZ 560. And Conrad, in his kindness, talking about our program and hopefully what we did to maybe make some difference. Folks, I give all the credit back to you guys. I just come and speak for a lot of you. You guys send me a ton. of different things throughout the day and the week and the month. I can’t use every single thing that gets sent, but I do use a lot of what you send. And even while I’m on air, you guys will help with different things that come up that I may know very little about. For example, so point being, thank all of you. Conrad, it’s not me. It’s all of you guys as listeners in the community that we have that really deserve the credit for making the difference because collectively, you guys make a big difference in what goes on in the four or five states, seven states, I believe, that we cover in our signal. So thank all of you. It’s not me. I’m just the mouthpiece for you. It really is all of you that are doing the lion’s share of the work. So thank you, by the way. Now, somebody, going back to what I just said, On the Amish thing, sent me the guy’s name. Thank you, by the way. It’s the Amish man. His name is Miller. So I did look up Mr. Miller. And yes, he has been in a battle with the government. Amos Miller is his name. He got in trouble because he was selling raw milk. Big deal. Now, I’ve never done a health and wellness segment on raw milk. I have family members, including a wife, that has their own opinions on raw milk, and they’re not like what the FDA says. So I will probably do a little research on raw milk, because I know very little about it. I do know that for generations, folks growing up on the farm, my own… Mother and grandmother and on and on we can go seemed to do just fine from the milk they drank as kids, and it came right from the cow and somehow survived. I don’t know how, but they did. And I will do more research on that because I don’t know much about it. Now, I do know that the way that in the videos that I have seen and what happened with Mr. Miller and his selling of milk was like the squirrel, totally government overreach, totally the wrong way to handle anything. And everything I’ve read so far, and I haven’t spent a ton of time, but on the surface what I’ve read is it caused a huge disruption in the Amish community. To the point where, yeah, I think the Amish came out and did some things that they probably wouldn’t normally do, politically speaking. Because that’s not what they do. They’re usually that community where you leave us alone and we’ll leave you alone and we’ll sell you our wares and our goods and so on and life is good. Leave us alone and we’re good. You guys have seen even some movies and documentaries. And yes, there is one program I will admit to watching back in the day on a regular basis. It was called the Amish Mafia. And yes, I watched it. And I learned a little bit about, now I know it’s TV. And it’s probably not super accurate as to what actually happens in the Amish community. But I did watch, and you learn a little bit about different things that are happening in those communities by watching. And I’ve known some people that have lived around the Amish communities and so on, and the Mennonites, and how a lot of that work. And I’ll be the first to say, nothing against those folks. If that’s what they want to do in their world, fine. More power to you. I have no issues. Now, I also know that there are stories that in some cases there can be some things going on in those communities that’s not kosher, not correct. Again, I can’t point fingers because I don’t know. I think you could probably say that about every community, including the Christian community. There’s a big deal happening with one of the megachurches right now with a particular pastor by the name of Morris. And so, folks, I can go down the line of different things that happen in each community, and I’m not going to point fingers. Nobody’s above sin, I guess, is the best way to say that. But in the case of what Gutfeld said about the Amish community and all of what happened there, I don’t think he’s that far off. Another example of government overreach. As I said on Monday, day before the election, did Peanut the squirrel have any influence upon the outcome of the election? I don’t know, folks. I do know this, that doesn’t bode well for the left when you’ve got a guy you’re running against talking about less government and the fact that there’s too much government overreach because he’s been the victim of and he’s been attacked by the Justice Department and the New York District Attorney and, and, and, and, and. And he’s the guy running that we’re going to fix this. And then you’ve got Peanut the Squirrel last weekend that’s euthanized. because somebody owned him for seven years that shouldn’t have. And then you have stories like this in the Amish community, and then you wonder, you guys on the left, you wonder why you lost. As a side note, I hear from the left a lot. I’ll get nasty text messages, even emails about, you know, all I do is lie, lie, lie, and everything I say on air is a big fat lie, and, you know, I should just go do, I should die. I get those kind of text messages and emails, yes. Some of you wouldn’t believe some of the things that I get that I don’t ever really talk about because I just kind of write it off to these are mental cases on the left. What’s interesting, since Tuesday, I haven’t heard a peep. Not one email or text message from the left. Where are all you guys? Did you die? Are you in your cry room? Your safe space? What’s happened? Are you not able to face reality that we won and your side lost and the country spoke and you’re on the losing side? I mean, I normally, even on Thursdays, there’s one particular lefty that every time Dr. Kelly is on, I hear from. And for the most part, likes what we’ve been talking about on Thursdays, although we’ll challenge different things from time to time. But where are you? Why haven’t I heard a single thing from anybody on the left since, frankly, even prior to the election? I mean, like last Wednesday, Thursday, I stopped hearing from the left. It’s not because they’re not listening. Those of you that are out there saying, well, they just don’t listen anymore. They turned you off. No, they didn’t. Trust me. No, they didn’t. They still listen. In fact, some of them listen on the weekends because I talk about things that aren’t political on the weekends. Cars and fixing up your house and different things like that. So I know they’re listening. Trust me. But those of you that are on the left, am I just not hearing from you because you don’t know how to admit you lost or what? And I’m not gloating. Folks, I’ve not done that at all since we won Tuesday night. I’ve not gloated at all. All Andy and I really did yesterday was just talk about it’s a great day. It’s fun to win. I like winning. Ask my family. We played trivia last night. I hate losing. I’m one of those guys that I just don’t like losing. It’s not in my DNA. I do everything I possibly can to win. And sometimes even when we’re playing games, if I have to cheat, I will. I’ll be the first to admit it. I hate losing. From the time I played Monopoly with my brothers and sister from the time I was a little kid, I liked winning. And I still do. So yes, I like being on the winning team. Nothing wrong with that, by the way. But where are all of you on the left? I haven’t heard a peep since we won. In fact, some of you, I even remember saying, well, you know, we’ll see on November the 5th how things turn out. I got a couple of minutes before a break. Go ahead, Ken.
SPEAKER 10 :
So I’m curious about something. You know, you just… about the educational system in California. I don’t know if that’s where Kamala came from. But what would you guess, and I’m not trying to be overly sarcastic, her
SPEAKER 06 :
communication level is maybe eighth grade in our normal current public school system uh on on on the normal everyday speaking level you’re probably correct only it’s probably lower than that now to give her credit she’s coachable uh you know they’ve given her a lot of acting coaching and you know Voice inflection. When do you say this? When do you say that? How do you say it? What crowd do you say it to? So to her credit, Ken, she is teachable because she does do things well when there’s a teleprompter in front of her.
SPEAKER 10 :
OK, so let’s look at that stuff. I’ve told people I don’t feel overly excited that we beat an eighth grader. OK, but now she has like 60 million people. that think they understand her. And that’s where my problem is far more than her.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, and remember, Ken, remember what Andy and I have said all along. It’s not necessarily that. Keep in mind that there is a ton, still is, and you’re going to see this in the next four years, there’s a ton of hatred for Donald Trump. So don’t look at it as support for Kamala Harris. It’s more hatred for Donald Trump.
SPEAKER 10 :
Can I add something to that, my opinion? Yes. I don’t totally agree because of the people I talk to that since I grew up in the South, I grew up where there was a lot of welfare, you know, back when welfare was a big thing.
SPEAKER 05 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 10 :
And I’m going to tell you, there are millions that I believe that vote their wallet. So they always come up with an excuse to vote Democrat. They’ll say, yeah, I’m a Christian, but I have to vote Democrat because. And I’m saying that it is a convenient excuse to say, I don’t like Trump. And I ask him, why don’t you like Trump? Well, I just don’t like him.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right. Right. And by the way, I’ve had some of those same conversations, Ken, with the same answer. It’s literally, why don’t you like him? I just don’t like him. I don’t like the way he says such and such. I mean, there’s never a direct answer.
SPEAKER 10 :
But, you know, that was why growing up, and you’re a little bit younger than me, but growing up, why people voted Democrat, because of the promises, the dollars, the free dollars.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, which our founding fathers predicted, if we can ever vote ourselves in raises, we’ll never stop.
SPEAKER 10 :
So that’s my opinion, that a good portion of the $60 million… voted for her because of their wallet.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s my opinion. I can’t argue that. Ken, I’ll let you go. I’ve got a break. No, I can’t argue that, Ken. I don’t think you’re wrong. I think it probably dovetails into one versus the other. They know that Donald Trump will do things that will take some of that away, so they hate him for that reason. Plus, they also know that, yes, they’re voting with their wallet and some of the handouts that will be coming their way that will be dismissed and go away under the likes of Donald Trump and his administration. Flesch Laws next. Civil criminal. We’ve got the answer. That’s Kevin Flesch, 303-806-8886.
SPEAKER 17 :
Here’s why you need personal injury attorney Kevin Flesch on your side. He understands the way the jury thinks. In the context of a personal injury case, you’ve been hurt by someone else’s negligence. The idea is that you’re going to try to recover so that you can get back to where you were just prior to that incident occurring. What that really means from a jurist’s perspective is that you’re going to be asking them to award you money. So when we talk about fairness, we’re talking about six people that you don’t know. Those six people view the evidence and make a unanimous decision that will decide what the fair value is. When you’re the one who’s hurt, you have a good idea of what you think it’s worth. The question is, can you persuade those other individuals whom you don’t know and were witnesses to believe that’s what the case is worth? Kevin Flesch understands the way the jury thinks. Call now for a free consultation. 303-806-8886
