A day before the 2024 presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and President Donald Trump (moderated by ABC News’ David Muir and Linsey Davis), the Harris-Walz campaign finally put policies on its campaign website. The Sekulow team discusses the lack of transparency by VP Harris, what to expect from the debate, the latest election polls, the ACLJ’s legal work – and much more.
0:07
we got breaking news the Harris campaign releases a critical document ahead of the debate with President
0:13
Trump keeping you informed and engaged now more than ever this is
0:20
seculo we want to hear from you share and post your comments or call 1 1800
0:26
684 3110 and now your host Logan seculo welcome
0:33
to seculo this is Logan seculo your host today we got will Haynes joining us executive producer in studio as well and
0:38
we’re going be taking your calls at800 684 3110 hope you all had a great weekend but we’re back here on a Monday
0:45
and what broke of course was a big document dump if you will but what is that document of course it is finally
0:51
for the first time in the Harris campaign guess what’s now on her website that’s right there is a small but
0:59
prevalent button that now says issues that’s right if you want to actually learn what this
1:04
presidential candidate is about you now kind of sort of can if you go to her
1:09
website click on issues a new way forward build an opportunity Ecom
1:15
economy and lower cost for families and then about a paragraph and a half that honestly though I have no proof of this
1:21
and though it’s unlikely to be true uh it all feels very much like it was written by AI it has sort of the I’d say
1:29
the marks of AI or the marks of maybe someone who’s been in politics for so long that they appear to their AI
1:35
appearing is how how it is and that is currently what’s going on in our system and sadly if you go down and break
1:41
through most of these you’re not going to learn a whole lot it’s just there to there because of course we are just what
1:47
a day away day and a half away day away from the first I guess you’d say it
1:53
technically the second presidential debate of the year but of course the first time we will see President Donald
1:59
Trump versus Vice President kamla Harris and is going to be a epic week I’m sure
2:04
you are all engaged on it I want to hear from you your thoughts how do you feel that the Harris Administration or
2:11
Administration the Harris campaign finally put up their issue site and of course again we can break down some of
2:17
it will but a lot of it is just very generic that’s right and as you mentioned it felt like it was written by
2:24
AI or maybe a staffer uh who is very good with the word salad St stle of
2:30
speaking that vice president Harris is there’s not a lot of detail here not a lot of meat a lot of uh platitudes and
2:37
things that sound great but there’s no real policy provisions of how they would
2:43
implement this as a Administration for instance like the keep America safe
2:48
secure and prosperous section there’s a tab that just says invest in America sources of strength okay what are those
2:55
well vice president Harris will make sure America not China wins the competition for the the 21st century and
3:01
that we strengthen not abdicate our Global Leadership so once again there’s more that follows that it says we’re
3:08
going to in uh invest in the competitive advantages that America uh has that make
3:14
us the strongest Nation on earth like workers Innovation industry but what about our energy one of my favorites is
3:20
just take on Bad actors and bring down costs she’s really offended by some of the streaming films that are coming out
3:27
the director streaming very she’s upset with the new Star Wars she’s like you know the best of the best
3:33
should be doing Star Wars not this I wish that was honestly if that was in the policy you know I’m not saying I’m I
3:38
would change my vote but at least we’d be talking about the same things we’d be having the same conversations phone lines are open for you right now I want
3:44
to hear from you 1 1800 684 3110 that’s 1800 684 3110 I want to say as we are
3:52
sort of just like kind of kicking off this month is a weird one CU you had the holiday then we’re back uh I want to
3:58
thank everyone who’s been an aclj champion someone that has decided to give on a monthly basis I’m going to encourage you if you’re not an aclj
4:03
Champion all it essentially is is a recurring donation some really critical work right now and as the election near we are seeing the attacks on
4:10
conservatives and attacks on Christians really amp up we’re going to talk about one of those coming up in a couple segments with CC high as we’re seeing
4:17
sort of a a really push against uh Christians and bible studies that are happening right now we’re involved in
4:22
that where Bible studies won’t be allowed to use even terms like Bible in certain areas I know that sounds crazy
4:28
but we’re also working on a lot of new projects protecting obviously you’ve heard about our pro life work we’re
4:33
talking with Walmart right now to make sure we’re protecting people’s religious freedom rights that is happening it’s going to require some considerable
4:39
resources but a great way to do it is just to become an aclj champion at any level that’s you know $5 a month or or
4:45
$500 a month whatever it is you decide to give you can do it set it again you can cancel it any time all donations are
4:51
tax deductible do it today make a monthly recurring gift and become an aclj champion at aclj.org
4:57
Champions or scan the QR code on your screen be right back in just a
5:02
minute you have described vice president kamla Harris as a progressive she has
5:07
previously supported Medicare for all now uh she does not she’s previously supported a ban on fracking now she does
5:14
not these Senator are ideas that you have campaigned on do you think that she
5:20
is abandoning her Progressive ideals no I don’t think she’s abandoning
5:25
her ideals I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is
5:31
right in order to win the election saying the quiet part out loud and again the polls that you mentioned earlier
5:36
actually confirm that voters recognize this and that voters do not believe that she has changed her Progressive values
5:42
at all as you mentioned more than half think that she is far too liberal for their liking in the Senate she showed up
5:48
in 2017 I served with her for years 100% of the time she voted hard left her
5:54
voting record is to the left of Bernie and it’s to the left of Elizabeth Warren I serve with Bernie and Elizabeth it is
5:59
not easy to get to their left there ain’t much space there Senator Sanders is saying what the Harris campaign
6:04
doesn’t want the American people to know and that is Kamala Harris is a typical career politician who lies to get
6:11
elected and uh she is trying to run away from her record over the past four years but she can’t because it is the Harris
6:18
Biden Administration kamla Harris cast a tiebreaking vote to create inflation kamla Harris is the Border Zar she has
6:25
allowed an invasion of more than 20 million illegals into this country he used the word ideals she used the word
6:31
values and when she used that word values in that interview that she did for 16 minutes that was a wink and a nod
6:38
To the Left Flank that was what I just said Don’t listen to what I say watch
6:43
what I do we were also told by this team that they were going to be the uniters that they were going to bring things
6:49
back to normal their normal is chaos their normal is a bad economy their
6:54
normal is crime their normal is an open border their normal are World War War
7:00
we’ve seen it [Music]
7:08
now welcome back to secula we are going to be taking your calls 1800 684 3110
7:14
1800 684 3110 as we break down that finally released issues page for the
7:20
Harris campaign and what you’ll finally actually look is that you have a pretty I don’t want to say a moderate point of
7:26
view but kind of a nothing point of view for a lot of these a very benign non-controversial even I went to
7:32
the most controversial sections You’ think abortion rights those kind of things they’re not as hardcore as maybe
7:38
she is uh been on the record before or maybe been on the record in some of her uh her even her campaign stops and this
7:45
will raise some eyebrows and they even brought this up to uh the good Senator Bernie Sanders that’s right so uh
7:53
Kristen Welker at NBC News had Senator Bernie Sanders on Meet the Press over
7:58
the weekend on Sunday show and asked him about kind of the shift in the public
8:04
facing uh Persona and opinions and ideals of Vice President Harris because
8:11
that’s one of the main criticisms she’s gotten about how far left she was as a senator and even running for president
8:18
in 2020 with the fracking ban the Medicare for all and things that she has since backtracked on and even famously
8:25
did so and was pushed a little bit by Dana Bash in the CNN interview but those positions have changed but she
8:32
said her values have not so Kristen Welker decided to ask about it and here was Bernie Sanders response let’s go
8:39
ahead and play bite one she has previously supported Medicare for all
8:44
now uh she does not she’s previously supported a ban on fracking now she does not these Senator are ideas that you
8:52
have campaigned on do you think that she is abandoning her Progressive
8:58
ideals no I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals I think she’s trying to be
9:03
pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election uh my
9:09
own view is is slightly different I I think that in America today there are a
9:14
lot of people rural people working class people who no longer believe that the
9:19
United States Congress and government represents their interests to dominated by Big Money interests okay that was
9:26
obviously from Bernie Sanders what did he say no I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and of course you know what
9:33
good for Bernie Sanders for saying the quiet part out loud doing what she thinks is right in order to win the
9:39
election okay it doesn’t matter about what you actually believe it doesn’t matter what your ideals are it doesn’t
9:45
matter actually what your topics are on your issues page what matters is making sure you get the votes to win and then
9:50
do whatever you want which is what we’ve heard from politicians by the way for Generations at this point which is just
9:56
plate your base try to get people engaged if if you feel too radical on one side or the other go out in the
10:02
middle you know lie to the American people we’re used to that what we have with Bernie Sanders actually I’m saying yeah that’s what she’s doing she’s going
10:08
in there and lying to the American people so what you should probably be looking at is the history of of KLA
10:13
Harris as a politician and the policies that she held dear and advocated for and voted for in the Senate and say that’s
10:21
probably the record that would happen in the White House not what she says on the campaign Trail not what she says in
10:27
interviews where she says she’s changed her position or now she’s going to fund a border wall or maybe she wants to
10:33
eliminate tax on tips all the things that she’s plagiarizing from the Trump campaign maybe the real kamla Harris is
10:40
the one that was a prosecutor that was a attorney general that was a US senator
10:47
and vice president maybe when she’s asked the question about hey would you support an embargo of arms on Israel and
10:54
she says no of course not Israel has the right to defend herself and and will stand strongly is she just saying what
11:02
she feels like she needs to say to get elected because that’s what Bernie Sanders seems to think and maybe things
11:08
like Medicare for all so a complete single-payer Health Care system by the federal government uh oh I don’t believe
11:15
that anymore what Bernie Sanders says maybe she does but she’s just saying what it takes to get elected Bernie
11:21
Sanders is a very honest man you can’t say anything bad about his honesty uh
11:27
maybe just hise with exactly policies his policies You can vly disagree with
11:33
but he always tells the truth and is a straight shooter I think that’s why he appealed to so many apolitical people in
11:41
in 2020 that were like well maybe I’m not a socialist but at least he’s telling his truth well and he even tried
11:48
to run again in 2020 against I remember with him and trump it almost appealed to the same person not dissimilar than an
11:54
RFK in Trump which is they didn’t line up very well on a lot of the issues but they almost lined up on or Tulsi you
12:00
could say lined up on the idea of just telling people at least what they think not necessarily what the party is making
12:07
them think and there’s something refreshing about that to the American people that are so sick and tired of
12:12
lies and covering up uh who you really are as a politician just in order to get
12:18
elected I think Israel is the big one that you can really see it because you can see the sway you can see where they
12:23
feel the public is at any given moment so you could see a a Harris Administration saying yes of course
12:30
we’re going to be pro Israel day one but then six months if they feel like the the social media sphere has shifted for
12:37
them they may move the target they may move where it is we’ve seen that now even look at the way on her issues page
12:43
they talk about Israel a lot of it sure does talk about we got to make sure Gaza the war on Gaza and we got to protect
12:49
the Palestinian people but it’s pretty strong on language towards Israel we’ve seen her do that now recently that is
12:54
not the case uh 6 months ago a year ago but what I feel like they did was their polling probably said the far Fringe
13:01
left of the anti-israel movement is not the prevailing even though they may be the loudest voice they’re not the
13:07
prevailing voice and we saw that even over the weekend CNN had Dana Bash was out and she got an event where you know
13:13
people are screaming in their in her face saying that she’s like a warmongering Israel supporter most
13:19
American people see that and they’re not siding with the protester right that’s not how they feel uh Mark Ruffalo the
13:25
actor The Incredible Hulk he put out a statement saying um that the American that was killed the hostage that was
13:31
killed would not would still be alive if it wasn’t for Netanyahu and for the United States involvement in Israel he
13:36
had to then apologize take that down and start and start labeling Hamas a terrorist organization right when you
13:42
get Mark Ruffalo who is maybe the most hardcore liberal to the point where uh
13:47
he’s like one of the few that I’m a fan of of his work and it makes it even much it makes it harder and harder for me to
13:53
even like be able to separate because he gets so nasty uh he did that and had to even back off why cuz here’s career was
14:00
probably in Jeopardy because most people didn’t feel that way even if you are a a Democrat even if you are more on the
14:06
left you’re not going oh yeah blame the hostages murder on uh the American
14:13
people or on Israel and I think the Harris Administration or the Harris uh campaign here has already figured out
14:20
how to play that Nuance is that they are letting the the principal candidate KLA
14:25
Harris be strong in favor of Israel which is not something that you could historically say is the case for her
14:32
they’re letting her be the face of that but then you have Tim Walls doing the Michigan interview on public radio last
14:38
week where he used the opportunity of the Gaza War and the October 7th attack
14:45
to say now is the time we leverage our power against Israel to make them go
14:51
towards a two-state solution this is nothing about getting rid of Hamas and saying it needs to be different
14:56
leadership and he he also said once again he said and the people speaking
15:01
out in Michigan he was speaking to a Michigan audience are speaking out for the right reasons the people that are
15:08
celebrating Hamas calling for uh an embargo of arms against Israel calling
15:13
for from the river to the seat the destruction of Israel carrying Hamas Flags they’re speaking out for the right
15:19
reasons so you see from the same campaign the principal and secondary candidate of this campaign have two
15:27
vastly different views on the way that this should go I think it gives them a way to play to the
15:33
middle and potentially be able to Pivot in 6 months time when the Winds of
15:38
Change were to sway a little bit should they be elected and I think that’s a
15:43
very dangerous situation if you’re an Israel supporter if you’re a conservative when you see things like
15:48
that happen but also clever strategy put the issue page up today so it takes away
15:55
a debate prep line from the Trump campaign where they say you won’t even
16:00
tell the American people what your policies are I hope his answer to that is you put it up yesterday like I do
16:07
hope that’s the thing which is like almost worse sometimes I feel like the Harris Administration or the the vice
16:13
president Harris has done this over and over again which is like I’m not going to go to the Border because people are telling me to go to the Border uh I’m
16:19
not going to do an interview because they’re trying to pressure me to like and then you finally do it and almost feels like this awkwardness right it’s
16:26
like we’re not going to put up a policy page well we should probably do it before the debate when before the debate I don’t know the day before it mean only
16:32
could be worse if it was put up an hour before because president Trump can now I still think you that and say you waited
16:39
until a day before a very well advertised moment you’ve now been running for what at this point getting
16:45
close to two two months yeah getting close to two months we know your policies you were the vice you are the
16:51
current sitting vice president uh give us a call what do you think about this 1 1800 684
16:57
3110 1800 684 3110 and next segment we’re going to be joined by CC Hils
17:02
we’re talking about some of the AC LJ’s work to take on censorship that’s happening in really wild levels you’re
17:07
going to want to see and hear this so if you’re watching right now stay tuned we only take a very short break but in that break I’m going to encourage you to go
17:14
to aclj.org and become a champion over 21,000 of you are aclj champions that
17:19
may sound like a lot we have a gigantic operation here everybody there’s dozens of people working just on this show each
17:25
and every morning so all day they start in the morning work all day until the show goes on and then they got to start
17:30
over do it again that’s just our media team and of course we have our incredible legal team you’re going to hear from in the next segment you’re hear from one lawyer in a cast of of of
17:38
hundreds really with our whole network of lawyers that are out there we can’t do that without your support become an aclj member right now which is what we
17:45
call aclj Champions be a champion of life liberty Freedom you’re going to
17:50
hear all about the work we’re doing coming up in the next segment then we’re going to be taking your calls because we want to hear from you and Rick reyell is
17:55
going to be joining us a bit later on the broadcast give us a call right now 1800 684
18:02
3110 over these last few weeks talked about many different clients of the acj
18:08
that have had issues with getting a religious accommodation at work we know
18:13
constitutionally that employers uh cannot force you to violate your faith
18:18
by um working on the Sabbath and making you pick your job over your faith uh and
18:26
once again we have a a new client actually a handful of clients that are seeing something similar happen at their
18:33
workplace could you go ahead and just give us a brief overview What’s Happening Here absolutely so we are having to deal
18:41
with Walmart the largest employer in America um unfortunately it seems like
18:46
there could just be a huge miscommunication and we’re hopeful that once they know about this and understand
18:51
how it’s impacting their employees they’ll be willing to work with us but currently they are implementing a new
18:57
scheduling software W um that is doing automatic scheduling with AI and what
19:03
that has happened to our client we have at least one client and several others that have contacted us that are all being infected is they’re told that if
19:10
they are going to continue to have off their Sundays for church um that they’re going to be dropped from this scheduler
19:17
this automatic scheduling system and they’re not going to be guaranteed 40 hours even though they’re full-time
19:23
employees and when they’ve reached out to their HRS and their supervisors they’ve been told that they’re sorry
19:28
there’s nothing they can do about it because it’s built into this software um so originally we started with our first
19:35
client actually writing his request for the religious accommodation to HR and
19:41
that has sat there for over two weeks with no response so now we’re going to kind of go a little bit harder with a
19:47
bit more of a punch with an actual demand letter from the aclj and here’s to hoping that Walmart listens this is
19:52
an AI system this is a system they’ve implemented and once they’re made aware of this they will take action with us
19:59
and I feel confident that they [Music]
20:06
[Applause] will welcome back to secula we always
20:11
want to highlight the aclj work and ongoing work that we’re doing in the legal field and this one obviously can affect a lot of you I know our numbers
20:18
our demographics who watches and listens and this could affect you directly we’re always fighting for whether it was in
20:23
the 80s fighting for Bible studies uh for kids in schools and some of those kids maybe they grew up maybe they’ve
20:30
aged up a little bit and now we’re taking on what seems to be an ongoing issue which is just to have the ability
20:37
to have Bible studies and use certain terminology and talk about your faith in 55 plus communities right and we have
20:43
that CC happening again right now yeah so we have yet another client who’s reached out to us that consistently held
20:50
Bible studies in his very nice 55 plus apartment complex um until just recently
20:57
when he was not given any prior notice of anything but when he tried to put his
21:04
bible study on the calendar the activities calendar which he has typically done um the management removed
21:11
it and they replaced it instead of Bible study with spiritual services and then
21:17
he was told that the managing company does not allow Bible to be included in
21:22
any of the activities that appear on the calendar and I think a lot of these communities which we’ve seen do this
21:29
because they think the Fair Housing Act requires them to be completely neutral
21:34
and when they think neutral they think they can’t say anything religious or exactly they go to the extreme that they
21:40
can’t do anything religious and that’s exactly really the opposite of what the Fair Housing Act requires the Fair
21:46
Housing Act requires that these facilities treat religious activities the same exact way that they treat
21:53
secular activities so they can’t be disparaging they can’t they can’t do it differently they can’t just Target you
22:00
can’t have Bible they have to allow that if they allow seculars so we sent a demand letter and once again we we think
22:08
we hope it is resolved quickly that’s the goal the goal is to not string this out and when you’re at a 55 plus Community you’re not wanting to wait
22:15
years and years to find out uh these answers but it’s something that we can do here at the aclj and if this is one of you listening right now you’re having
22:21
the same kind of issues or problems with your own your housing situation or wherever you are your workplace it’s very easy to get in touch with one of
22:27
our lawyers and we don’t charge you anything for that that is why we have supporters that’s why we have aclj
22:32
Champions we do that so we don’t have to charge the person who you know was told you can’t use the word bible in your
22:38
Bible study you have to say you know spiritual conversations or whatever it may be the aclj is here for them right
22:44
and and you know we even took it a step further because we have gotten so many of these requests for help in these
22:51
communities that they’re being told they can’t have a Bible study they can’t hold the Bible study they can’t say something religious that we have literally sent
22:58
letters to um the Department of Justice and the department of um Housing and
23:04
Urban Development to say you need to send out you know in instructions to
23:11
these facilities to let them know that they cannot do these illegal type um restrictions and because we’ve just seen
23:18
such a great upt tick in this that we realized we need to do something further and go to these agencies that actually
23:25
monitor this and tell them you need to give out better instructions CC this seems to be a growing and systemic
23:33
problem in the country right now and whether it be out in California where we
23:38
had to fight for the rights of citizens in Manhattan Beach to use the facilities
23:44
provided to all citizens to use them for First Amendment activity right the first amendment allows for freedom of speech
23:51
freedom of Association freedom of religion and what we’re seeing is that
23:56
these three things are under attack across the country whether it be in schools where we still see a teacher
24:02
wasn’t allowed to pray visibly anywhere on campus we’re going to court we have a
24:09
a oral argument there soon in outside of Houston and then you see all the way to
24:15
these 55 and up communities the whole of life right now is being targeted by the
24:21
government and by actors that misunderstand the protections the government has in place the Constitution
24:27
provides by targeting uh curiously people that want to practice their
24:33
Christian faith right you’re not seeing this across the board where it’s eliminating other people’s rights it is
24:40
specifically targeting Christians and it’s a time when you think in 2024 this is settled law we wouldn’t have to be
24:46
going and fighting these battles right but we still do and and like Logan said sometimes it’s just people
24:53
misunderstanding the law they take it to the extreme they they they buy into the rhetoric of separation of church and
24:59
state and so they feel like they’re actually doing the correct Thing by
25:04
eliminating anything that even smacks of religion and it is Christian beliefs and they’re just wrong that’s exactly what
25:11
these laws do the opposite of they protect your religious rights and that’s what the aclj does we protect the
25:18
religious rights and like you said we do it for free and we are able to resolve a lot of these very quickly yeah I I
25:24
honestly have to every time we’re in one of these meetings be reminded of which one we’re talking about here cuz they have become more and more frequent well
25:32
that’s right and we even have a client in Massachusetts a pastor that wasn’t allowed to use um facilities in the his
25:40
local community once again these are places all over the country we talked about California we talked about
25:45
Massachusetts today we’re talking about a facility in North Carolina it’s not limited to just the traditional liberal
25:52
areas like California or Massachusetts we’re seeing things like this in Texas with that teacher North Carolina with
25:59
the senior uh 55 and up Community uh once again I said it was systemic it is
26:04
systemic it is in the more conservative areas of the country and the more liberal that’s a problem and we are
26:11
going to continue to fight but we know there’s something deeper and we need to get to the root of that as well right
26:16
and I think you know that’s why we sent these letters too to the Department of Justice and Department of Housing and
26:21
Urban Development because they need to be doing a better job at educating all these facilities to let them know you
26:27
cannot be violating you know your people the people that are living there their
26:32
rights they have the right to practice their faith freely and openly and you
26:38
cannot stop them from doing so and I think again A lot of times it just takes a letter if it needs more than a letter
26:45
if somebody really has doubled down and they really are targeting uh Christian faith and trying to shut that down we
26:51
will take that to court and we will take it as far as we need to take it to win because these are cases that we can win
26:57
and we do win um and we do it again all for free that’s right absolutely right now you

30:01
keeping you informed and engaged now more than ever this is
30:07
seculo and now your host Logan seculo welcome back to seculo will Haynes is
30:13
joining me in studio right now if you’re just joining us you want to know what that critical document that was released ahead of the debate with Trump coming up
30:20
tomorrow with from the Harris administration of course we are talking about will an actual policy section if
30:25
you want to call it that on the Harris campaign website that’s right it is an issues tab at kamah harris.com uh we’ll
30:33
talk about it if you don’t feel like going over there and you know getting the cookies and then you all of a sudden
30:39
get a ton of comma ads we know that you’re trying to avoid those in your feed uh but you know it’s build an
30:45
opportunity economy when lower cost for families is one section ensure safety
30:50
and justice for all is another section keep America safe secure and prosperous is the final section and then there are
30:57
individual s within that there’s not a lot of meat here it makes you question
31:02
why it took so long to build out this section of the website when it is not a
31:07
ton of real um tangible policy prescriptions that she would put forward
31:14
instead it’s like uh we’re going to cut taxes for middle class families we’re going to make rent more affordable and
31:20
Home Ownership more attainable things like that that are just very uh lofty goals and uh very I would even say
31:28
populist facing compared to where the Democrat party has been for such a long
31:33
time you can tell that with the section she is trying to uh Target a traditional
31:40
Trump voter someone that is very blue collar from the middle of the country because she knows those are the places
31:46
she needs to perform well if she plans on winning this election and uh just
31:52
over the weekend the New York Times and Sienna College released a poll and these are this is kind of the gold standard of
31:59
polls uh they I know that people don’t like to give po a lot of credit but this one is has historically been one of the
32:06
ones that has the best factors it’s the most money spent on it there’s like this and one other that Nate silver who’s uh
32:13
loved and hated by everyone who’s kind of the polls guy puts as his second best rated poll it had Trump up
32:20
nationally in in the contest either one point if it’s just head-to-head or two
32:25
points when you add in third party candidates so that’s not a good indicator for kamla Harris going into
32:33
the debate it’s kind of a must win Mak or break scenario for her as she’s seen
32:40
this slipping in the polls post the convention a lot of that was kind of the honeymoon period and Convention bump for
32:47
her and you’re seeing that she’s not really digging in and gaining ground in these polls and so you can say what you
32:54
will about the polls but there is an indicator of enthusias M that seems to be slipping away from KLA Harris the
33:01
longer this campaign goes and tomorrow night’s a big night and we know that the media is probably already gotten their
33:07
marching orders on how to spin this for her after the debate so I’m very interested and see how this plays out uh
33:14
that’s right let’s go ahead and take a phone call let’s go uh ahead with Philip who’s calling in Georgia online one Phillip you’re on the
33:20
air yes you guys and Donald Trump need to hammer what Bernie Sanders said over
33:27
the week on NBC News Meet the Press where he said uh I quote her policy
33:35
changes are pragmatic which means basically a leopard will not change his spot she’s saying what she’s saying now
33:43
to get elected and then if she wins you’re going to go back to being so
33:48
Progressive and the segment you had on before it will be a hundred times worse
33:53
for Christians in this country a hundred times so that is what you and Trump need
34:00
to hammer that Bernie and she’s a Bernie Sanders supporter yep pH thank you for calling I
34:06
think that’s a really good comment as you said we could see a world where things could get much worse but that’s why we’re there that’s why they’re here
34:12
that we’re here to help so I encourage you regardless who wins this election coming up the aclj will be there and we
34:19
can do that with your support it’s become an aclj Champion today someone who gives on a monthly recurring basis you heard me say it a lot I’m going to
34:24
keep saying it so don’t worry we’re going to take your calls by the way coming up in in just a couple minutes so the next segment we’re going to be
34:29
joined by former Director of National Intelligence Rick renell part of our team here and then after that I want to
34:36
take as many calls as we can so if you’re a great call like that we got three lines open right now 1 1800 684
34:42
3110 1800 684 3110 and if you’re watching online YouTube Rumble Facebook
34:48
whatever it is engage throw some comments in if you don’t know what to comment let me know where you’re watching from I always like to see that
34:54
get a little uh geography from around the country and around the world
35:00
this morning with the first presidential debate now just over 24 hours away Donald Trump and comma Harris are
35:06
preparing to come face to face for the first time vice president Harris has been holed up at a Pittsburgh Hotel
35:12
doing mock debates with a Donald Trump standin the former president isn’t doing any of that instead holding informal
35:18
policy sessions with advisers let’s show our audience the rules going into Tuesday night’s debate muted microphones
35:24
when the other candidates speaking no live studio audience only pen paper and water on stage no pre-written notes or
35:30
props two minute answers to questions two minute rebuttal one extra minute for follow-ups clarifications or responses
35:38
and Trump who won the coin toss will have the final word we have a candidate who is barely known to the American
35:44
people she’s done one major interview has been off the campaign Trail for over
35:50
half of the time that she’s been a candidate uh preparing for either the interview or the debate and so she has a
35:57
a very large mountain de Cline in introducing herself to the American people and letting the country know
36:03
where she would take the country this is the one time that voters are going to have an opportunity to see the two
36:08
candidates side by side and assess them debates are not decisive by any means
36:13
we’ve seen candidates lose debates before and still win the election but they can provide defining moments for the candidates she will come prepared
36:20
with memorized lines ready to recite and deliver them and and what I think will be a very effective way however she
36:27
cannot run away from her record on the other hand you have the most well-known candidate uh probably uh uh in the
36:34
history of American political debate he’s debated a number of times and uh
36:40
he’s very well known people have formed opinions about him voters still want to hear more from kamla Harris about her
36:46
vision for how she would govern so there’s a lot of upside here there’s a lot of opportunity to for her to lay out
36:52
that Vision explain that to voters and they’ll have a chance to assess the two candidates side by side
37:02
[Music]
37:09
welcome back to secula we will be taking your calls coming up in the next segment do we got Rick reell joining us Rick you’re joining us uh Rick obviously we
37:15
are a day away from the big debate what it feels like the second debate but is it the first debate but I wanted to get
37:21
your thoughts heading into this and of course the Harris uh campaign decided yeah maybe today we should post our
37:27
issues page maybe we should actually reveal a little bit of what we’re talking about of course you read it and there’s not a lot of meat
37:34
there yeah look this is going to be a very big debate I hope it’s not the only debate there is talk of an NBC debate in
37:42
about two weeks I hope the Kam Harris team will say yes to it Donald Trump has
37:47
said yes to it uh it’s important that we have more discussion more transparency
37:53
we do know she’s running from the media and that strategy is not working they have been forced to do you know a
38:00
little bit of policy discussion not policy details on their website because
38:06
there’s been pressure uh the media has uh been pressure point it’s the public
38:13
the public has been screaming for more information and uh she is I think the
38:20
first uh person to run for president to
38:25
have a a you know leverage pressure
38:31
campaign from the public not from the media the media are allowing her to get away with it this could be the first
38:39
presidential campaign that has stopped that is uh that that fails because of
38:45
the public not because of the media and I think that’s a really important point Rick I wanted to get your take on this
38:52
because you you’re hoping for a second debate between Trump and KLA Harris but
38:57
the former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is not so sure this one’s going to happen I want to get your reaction to
39:03
bite two what advice would you give Donald Trump for the
39:09
debate you’re super close I know yeah you are close in a way my advice yeah uh
39:16
do you think he’s going to show up I do you do yeah you think yeah do
39:23
you know something I don’t know
39:31
I know cowardice when I see it yeah so speaker Pelosi former speaker
39:36
Pelosi doesn’t think Donald Trump’s going to show up to the debate after he uh already won one election against Joe
39:43
Biden because of his debate performance look Nancy Pelosi gets to get away with this crazy talk because
39:50
the media doesn’t push back on her everybody outside of Washington outside of newsrooms knows
39:57
that it’s kamla Harris that hasn’t decided to go into the next debate she’s the one who’s still complaining about
40:04
Mike and she wanted to have uh notes she wanted to sit at a desk um she wanted to
40:11
literally sit there and read her talking points and uh that’s not what Joe Biden
40:17
had agreed to with President Trump and so the media and the left are spinning
40:23
this whole thing that somehow kamla is the strong one in Trump is afraid
40:28
everybody knows that that’s bunk everybody knows that that’s ridiculous but but Nancy Pelosi gets to get away
40:34
with this say this publicly and the crowd just Roars because they’re living
40:39
in a dream world where the media just tell them total falsehoods and they’re
40:45
not able to hear dissenting views I mean look I I talk about this on Twitter a lot Comcast owns MSNBC and NBC News and
40:54
what Comcast is doing to silence the dissenting voices from the
41:00
conservatives is outrageous and people need to speak up who are U Comcast
41:05
customers that shouldn’t be allowed to happen in America I think a lot of people actually look at that too and
41:11
they’re looking at what CNN is doing CNN maybe he’s pushing back harder than they they’ve pushed before we’ve seen uh some
41:17
responses from some of the other networks maybe they are seeing we can we can honestly look at uh the policy page
41:23
and even see that they are leaning a bit more towards trying to find that sort of Middle Ground voter that maybe that far
41:30
left extreme left they thought was going to be their largest voice in the room you know is not quite what they thought
41:36
it was maybe it is just that social media voice because we’ve seen other than from like like will said they have
41:42
she’s out there being very moderate on Israel and then you have Tim Walls taking a more stream view seems like they are trying to kind of you know have
41:49
their cake and eat it too if you will in this scenario and of course now you have
41:54
a VI former Vice President Dick Cheney come out and say I’m voting for Harris and support Harris and he’s being
42:00
welcomed with open arms I mean it’s someone who was very much around during
42:07
the bush era and as someone who was a proud Bush supporter I know you as well
42:12
uh worked there at the time we’ve all kind of were involved in some ways to see the Democrats Embrace who they kind
42:20
of put out there as like Darth Vader as like the ultimate Evil uh it’s just so
42:25
telling yeah look this this to me is typical of
42:30
Washington DC swamp they they love money they love the defense industrial complex
42:36
they want Wars because they benefit from Wars and let’s just remember that it was
42:43
the entire left the entire Democratic party that wanted to prosecute Dick Cheney for war crimes in Iraq it’s
42:50
insane because now um you know the only people that were defending Cheney back then were Republicans now can has turn
42:58
and embrace KLA Harris the the person who has literally undermined democracy and is the most ill prepared person ever
43:06
to run for office Rick we earlier talked about in the show that uh Senator Bernie Sanders was on Meet the Press speaking
43:13
of NBC and Comcast and Kristen Welker asked him about the flipflops that we’ve
43:19
seen from KLA Harris you know she used to be more in line with the things you supported but now uh she’s changed on
43:26
these issues and Senator Sanders to his credit said the quiet part out loud he
43:32
said that I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is
43:37
right in order to win an election uh did he tell us 100% what we would see from a
43:44
Harris Administration it would be the way she had uh ruled in California as
43:50
attorney general the way that she uh voted as a senator and the way she went along with the Biden
43:57
uh schemes as vice president is it going to be what we know from history of KLA
44:03
Harris or what she puts out publicly now that she’s the candidate for
44:08
president well she’s not changing her values let’s remember that and her values are very well known we’ve seen
44:15
them on video what’s happening right now is the kamla Harris team and kamla
44:21
Harris herself have been caught because they always assumed that the
44:28
California Playbook would be the way that you win the White House they they
44:34
were so naive to think that what worked in Sacramento was somehow going to work
44:39
in Washington DC and let me just tell you as a Californian they’ve ruined the state with their woke ideology she’s on
44:46
video saying you got to be more woke you should always be woke and we have seen
44:51
firsthand in California that woke policies are atrocious what they’re trying to do is win an election so she’s
44:59
saying things like I’m I’m not uh against fracking because she’s got to
45:04
win Pennsylvania uh this is a uh clear indication that they’re panicking and
45:11
that their strategy to run as a woke radical San Francisco Progressive uh is
45:17
not working everyone knew it was going to work KL is the last one to know that it wasn’t going to work and Rick you you
45:24
mentioned your home state of California uh I’m sure you saw the LA Times column
45:29
that came out that said they say Democrats are to blame for all California’s problems but the GOP is Mia
45:37
uh I just want to get your quick take on that one well that’s Steve Lopez he’s he’s crazier than aloon he’s said the
45:45
most outrageous things and I think the bigger story is why does the LA Times continue to have this farle communist
45:52
writing pieces uh he’s literally been wrong on every sing subject and he’s
45:58
been a cheerleader for all of the world policies in California Rick thank you so much for joining us uh I want to
46:03
encourage everyone who’s listening to we can’t have great voices like Rick renell on the show without your support and as
46:09
always Rick it’s always great to hear from you and I really look forward to obviously we had a big day tomorrow uh
46:14
with the debate I look forward to hearing your uh response to everything that goes down we got a busy week
46:20
ahead absolutely so thank you again to Rick for joining us I’m going encourage you right now uh to give us a call of
46:26
course said to support the work of the aclj but there’s about just on YouTube there’s like 5,000 of you live right now
46:32
watching on YouTube thousands are W Millions listen throughout the day and and throughout all of our broadcasts
46:38
right now there’s about 5,000 of you watching right now on on just YouTube alone another couple thousand on Rumble
46:43
I’m encourage you if you’re brand new which a lot of you are we look at the numbers about half of those who join us live each day are brand new you’ve never
46:49
seen my face before you never seen will Hayes’s face before you never seen our broadcast so I’ve encourage you we do
46:55
this show each and every day 12 to one Eastern you can work your way back from there hit that subscribe button hit that
47:00
little bell and the little thumbs up know how much that means to us financial support is great I want you to become an
47:06
aclj Champion all that but I’m going encourage you right now if you’re brand new hit that subscribe button you know what’s different between our show a lot
47:11
of other broadcast and podcasts you may Listen to I want to hear from you that’s
47:17
right because we’re live to thousands of you each and every day I do get to hear from you so give us a call whether you’re listening on the radio watching
47:22
on Facebook watching on YouTube rumble on X right now you see that number at the bottom of screen if you’re watching 1 1800 684
47:30
3110 that’s 1800 684 3110 we actually have quite a few lines open a lot of
47:36
viewers a lot of open lines do you know what that means if you call in there’ll be less open lines and we’re able to
47:43
hear from you because you are the most important voice in this room because we are supported specifically from you not
47:48
by big sponsors not by anything else just by individual donors we want to hear from you each and every day 1 1800
47:54
684 3110 we’re back in just just a minute with your calls you have described vice president
48:01
kamla Harris as a progressive she has previously supported Medicare for all
48:07
now uh she does not she’s previously supported a ban on fracking now she does not these Senator are ideas that you
48:14
have campaigned on do you think that she is abandoning her Progressive
48:20
ideals no I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals I think she’s trying to be
48:25
pragmatic and do doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election saying the quiet part out loud and again
48:31
the polls that you mentioned earlier actually confirm that voters recognize this and that voters do not believe that
48:37
she has changed her Progressive values at all as you mentioned more than half think that she is far too liberal for
48:43
their liking in the Senate she showed up in 2017 I served with her for years 100%
48:49
of the time she voted hard left her voting record is to the left of Bernie and it’s to the left of Elizabeth Warren
48:54
I serve with Bernie and Elizabeth it is not easy to get to their left there ain’t much space there Senator Sanders
49:00
is saying what the Harris campaign doesn’t want the American people to know and that is kamla Harris is a typical
49:05
career politician who lies to get elected and uh she is trying to run away
49:10
from her record over the past four years but she can’t because it is the Harris Biden Administration kamla Harris cast
49:17
the tiebreaking vote to create inflation kamla Harris is the bordar she has allowed an invasion of more than 20
49:24
million illegals into this country he used the word deals she used the word values and when she used that word
49:30
values in that interview that she did for 16 minutes that was a wink in a nod To the Left Flank that was what I just
49:37
said Don’t listen to what I say watch what I do we were also told by this team
49:43
that they were going to be the uniters that they were going to bring things back to normal their normal is chaos
49:49
their normal is a bad economy their normal is crime their normal is an open border their normal are world wars
49:57
we’ve seen it
50:02
[Applause] now welcome back to seculo as we take a
50:07
minute to Screen through some of your calls give that information to our phone screeners we got two lines still open 1 1800 684 3110 but let’s go to right off
50:15
the bat let’s go to Deborah who’s listening on the radio calling from or and online for you are on the
50:20
air I find vice president Harris’s
50:28
changes in her policy as stated appalling and terrifying
50:35
because there may be some voters who are pulled off track or pulled into her web
50:44
if I may say it that way um yeah I mean Deborah I think the idea is to peel off
50:51
voters who maybe are not paying as close attention right that’s why Bernie Sanders said she’s trying to be pregn
50:56
pragmatic and do what she thinks she has to do to win an election the entire
51:01
Point Deborah is to peel off voters that say oh this sounds good this doesn’t sound super liberal this sounds pretty
51:08
moderate this sounds like oh she’s going to help me and my family the problem is is that she has not been governing this
51:15
way as vice president she wasn’t voting that way as US senator and she wasn’t
51:21
acting that way as Attorney General of California remember we at the aclj had
51:26
to combat kamla Harris we had a lawsuit that originally was captioned versus
51:32
Harris and then when the following the subsequent attorney general came in the
51:39
name changed to Basera obviously obviously now he’s at HHS but the problem was she was going after
51:46
Pregnancy Resource Centers wanting to force them to advertise where to get abortions yeah to CL what that means is
51:53
like you’d go in to a pro-life Pregnancy Center and there’d be a sign that they wanted up and said hey if you’re here
51:59
and you’re actually looking for an abortion here’s an address here they hours a website whatever it is scan this
52:05
QR code it dictated the the size of the sign the font used it was trying to
52:11
squelch freedom of speech and actually Force speech compel speech for these
52:17
centers that are pro-life that wanted to help women that needed resources for a
52:22
pregnancy and instead they had them adverti for abortion we’ve we know her
52:27
track record we’ve been following the career of KLA Harris longer than many people because we’ve had to fight
52:33
against her in places like California we’ve had to defend our clients that were concerned about being forced to
52:41
advertise for abortion in California so yeah I I don’t think that we have any
52:47
doubt about how she would be as president of the United States and what policies she would enact but yeah right
52:53
now they’ve already done everything unprecedented they pulled out their candidate they’ve done every single
52:59
thing that imaginable to try and make this an unusual election and try to get
53:05
her across the Finish Line not doing a press conference waiting so long to do an interview not telling you what their
53:11
platform really is and what we’re going to see is they’re going to keep trying
53:16
to do more and more things to make it seem like she appeals to the middle of the country uh when in reality I don’t
53:22
think that most of Middle America agrees with the policies of KLA Harris sure and I think that that came off just over the
53:28
weekend with Bernie Sanders who’s being interviewed saying does it feel like she is softening on a lot of her far-left points of view of course what did Bernie
53:35
Sanders say take a listen all now uh she does not she’s
53:43
previously supported a ban on fracking now she does not these Senator are ideas
53:48
that you have campaigned on do you think that she is abandoning her Progressive ideals
53:56
no I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is
54:03
right in order to win the election there you go trying to do what’s right to win the election just
54:09
doing the bare minimum saying telling people what they want to hear the most
54:17
101 political swampy garbage that you’ll ever here which is just go out there and
54:22
lie to the people if you go out there and lie to people you’re going to win over votes if you win over votes who cares what actually you believe in
54:28
because then you’ll be in office you can do whatever you want and people are going to blindly support you that seems to become the track record in the
54:34
trajectory uh of Washington right now that’s right and honestly this is why the debate is such a big moment for the
54:41
Harris campaign tomorrow because they got this surge of enthusiasm uh when Joe Biden dropped out
54:49
and it seemed inevitable that Joe Biden would lose replaced him with kamla Harris the media gives her the most
54:57
glowing reviews of a human that you’ve ever seen so everyone’s saying she’s so
55:03
popular she was the least popular vice president in the history of this country so popular everybody loves her she’s
55:08
going to win in a landslide then she gets to have her uh well produced
55:15
entertaining DNC that makes it look inevitable oh she’s going to win this is
55:20
incredible they had little John show up during the roll call it was so great can
55:26
you believe it Oprah spoke then that goes away and you see the uh the
55:33
convention bump go down and right now you have a New York Times Cenna poll
55:39
that is the First full poll post Labor Day it’s a large sample size it’s almost 1,700 likely voters and it has KLA
55:47
Harris down one if it’s head-to-head you add the other candidates in she’s down
55:53
two nationally that’s the national poll that’s the one that the the Democrats are almost always ahead in you’re seeing
56:01
that enthusiasm dry up the media narrative is going away that’s why they
56:07
know that this is all or nothing tomorrow night to be able to capture that media narrative again that oh she’s
56:13
surging she became the prosecutor on stage mark my words you will hear that in the post debate analysis on CNN and
56:21
MSNBC you saw prosecutor Harris tonight A much better uh much different tone
56:26
last time and Will it’s little John oh I said little too you almost said it too little
56:32
John let’s go to C Hood yes exactly let’s go to camri Who’s Calling in Utah
56:38
that’s how you you have kids you’re just watching Robin Hood a lot uh is an aclj Champion so thank you so much for your monthly support I appreciate it you’ll
56:44
be our last call for the day go ahead okay hi team I just don’t think um comma
56:50
Will Survive the debate and as a result there won’t be any other debates that
56:55
she’ll agree AG to second question I have whatever happened to the fox I thought they agreed that that would go
57:01
first oh yeah the fox debate just did not happen it didn’t they end up not coming to terms right and well comma did
57:06
not agree to yeah she would not do the debate so of course you can you can blame uh the Harris campaign for that
57:12
but yes uh do I think that it will go well you know I could see it going either way in this it’ll go but look I
57:17
think it’ll be more of a debate than the last one but the bar is very low very low but maybe this time you’ll see that
57:25
now look what we’ll know well you know historically she brought up will there be another debate if it goes that bad
57:30
there may be another debate because they’re going to have to have something to bounce back we saw that last time or or many times ago with Obama versus
57:36
Romney the first Romney debate Romney smoked him and then they what they do the next time around Obama really took
57:42
care of it for the rest of the the entire campaign so you may see that response but I think you’re right I
57:47
think likely this is going to be our one and only we are pretty close to an election at this point I don’t really
57:53
see another opportunity uh unless it’s some very specific you know think both of them really need it but we’ll see
57:59
what happens hey we only got a minute left I encourage you right now become an aclj Champion a monthly supporter do
