SPEAKER 13 :
I can’t hide myself I don’t expect you to understand I just hope I can explain What it’s like to be a man It’s a lonely road And they don’t care about what you know It’s not about how you feel But what you provide inside that home
SPEAKER 11 :
man is what you make it you can’t always live up to expectations you try to please everybody while you struggle so you fake it and end up out of balance compromising situations as a good man thing he could man you might find yourself feeling all alone inside a house you built that you don’t recognize as home and that’s what my daddy told me
SPEAKER 02 :

People, you can always go to theguysperspective.org. It’s all lowercase letters. T-H-E-G-U-I-S-P-R-S-P-C-T-I-V-E dot O-R-G. And you can get to our website. You can subscribe to our newsletter that we’re starting. And if you believe in our cause, which we do. Sponsor us. Fund us. Do we want to raffle both today or one each session? Each session. One call for…
SPEAKER 03 :
I like that each session, but I’m still thinking about John and his steak. Right. John, if you’re listening again, buddy.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, give us a call so we can make sure we get your steak dinner. But we got gift cards. One $25 gift card to Olive Garden and the Spaghetti Factory.
SPEAKER 04 :
I mean, Olive Garden is fire. Well, which one’s better? Olive Garden.
SPEAKER 06 :
So what should we do? The second caller who calls in gets a gift card? Listen, in order to get the gift card, you’re going to have to come to the studio next Saturday. I think that’s fair. Come in, introduce themselves, shake their hand. Come meet the truth. Give them a gift card. That’s pretty cool. Okay, let’s go around the table. Let’s start with Reno.
SPEAKER 10 :
I am Reno Kirkendall, local business owner.
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m the truth. Nothing but the truth. I’m Brock. Local janitor.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay. Okay. So if you need some toilet splints, give him a call.
SPEAKER 03 :
And this is Heath Hine, the actor in Colorado.
SPEAKER 06 :
And Andre’s out today. His boys had some football scrimmages. Let’s get into it, guys. Let’s talk about, well, first off, how was y’all’s week, man? Let’s dive into that. Has it been pretty hectic?
SPEAKER 03 :
Mine’s been pretty crazy, man. I mean, you guys know about building the house, and that’s got a lot. When you don’t know how to do something, it takes up all your time.
SPEAKER 04 :
That’s true. What about you guys? Man, my days are just flying by. I don’t even got time to really, you know, think about it.
SPEAKER 06 :
What about you, Reno? It’s not bad. It’s a busy week as usual. Let me ask you guys a question before we get into our topic. Does it seem like time goes by faster now that you’re getting older or when you were younger?
SPEAKER 03 :
See, that’s what I don’t understand, man. I don’t know if it’s because we’re older and we can see what’s coming and we know what we’ve been through and so everything goes faster. Or if it’s like end-of-world things like end-time stuff that’s speeding up. I don’t know what the difference is.
SPEAKER 04 :
I think there is a scripture for time speeding up. There is? Yeah, I’m pretty sure there is, bro. I don’t know what the scripture is.
SPEAKER 06 :
So do you guys think that means the rotation of the globe is speeding up some? Or is it just time? I don’t get it.
SPEAKER 04 :
I think it’s a trumpet. A trumpet that speeds up the time.
SPEAKER 06 :
I just thought because we’re getting older and we got so many responsibilities, time’s going by faster. That’s what I thought.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, I think also when you do take on more responsibilities, then yeah, absolutely, you’re faced with less time. But there’s people who are old and don’t have any responsibility at all. Wake up, play golf.
SPEAKER 06 :
Man, okay, so let me ask you guys this question. We’re going to get into the topic. If you could retire right now, would you want to? Absolutely.
SPEAKER 04 :
See, no, I don’t know. It’s a catch-22. Because if I had a ton of money, right? Because you see these old people that are famous, that have tons of money, that want to retire, but yet they’re going and doing something else because you’ll get bored. You know what I’m saying? You’d have to still find a hobby. You’d have to find something else to do to keep your time.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, I don’t think I’d want to retire.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, you got a lot of work left in you?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, oh, yeah, I don’t want to retire until I’m, like, 90, dude. Yeah, like, keep that crap coming, you know what I’m saying?
SPEAKER 04 :
And it’ll keep you in good health, keep you moving, keep you from diabetes. I think a lot of people that are losing limbs are just sitting at home doing nothing.
SPEAKER 10 :
Losing limbs, huh? No, I’m serious. Reno. it’s not about retiring and doing nothing it’s retiring and doing what you want to do because it wouldn’t be like i wouldn’t just sit sit in front of the tv and veg out i would just never be home well let me ask you for the first month and then you’re like i’ve watched everything on netflix if you could retire right now what’s the number in your bank account you would have to have to retire
SPEAKER 06 :
I don’t know.
SPEAKER 10 :
Right now, I don’t know.
SPEAKER 06 :
What about you?
SPEAKER 04 :
Man, I’ve never… What about you?
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, wealth is mathematical. So if it cost me $3,000 a month to live right now, then if I had $30,000, I could live for 10 months. Okay. If I had $300,000, I could live for, what, 100 months? Yeah. Yeah. uh, without changing lifestyle. So, so, so that’s the thing about like wealth. Wealth is a mathematical, you can equate it. So if I had $3 million, I could live a long time.
SPEAKER 04 :
Right. Well, I mean, I wanted to answer the question, but it comes to mind seeing these professional athletes blow through $100 million. I’m like, dude, that’s not enough to retire with. That’s not enough to finish your life off with.
SPEAKER 03 :
Lifestyle matters.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, come on. And people give us a call at 303-477-5600. We want your perspective on anything we talk about. um if you think we’re just blowing smoke in the air singing dixie um give us a call like we want to know like try to shut us down like prove us wrong try to prove the actor wrong try to prove arino wrong try to prove truth wrong and and by all means prove me wrong um the plunger wrong so so let’s let’s dive into our our topic boys um So today we’re talking about what gives a company or a business owner the right to terminate somebody or just let them go. Let’s go around the room.
SPEAKER 04 :
This is a double-sided coin because if you work for the union, it’s a lot stricter. I just thought about it and I was like, man, if you go into a meeting, they’ll give you You can call for a representation to be with you in the meeting.
SPEAKER 06 :
For the union?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. Really? Yeah. They give you multiple shots to get your situation corrected.
SPEAKER 03 :
Reno agrees. Wow.
SPEAKER 04 :
It’s crazy.
SPEAKER 10 :
I’m still a union member. Oh, wow.
SPEAKER 04 :
You are? Yeah. It’s a lot harder to get fired, right?
SPEAKER 10 :
No, this being an at-will state, they could give you a reduction in force and you go back to the hall. So there’s no reason. If you get laid off to get fired, that’s a different story.
SPEAKER 04 :
No, that’s what I’m saying. Oh, so instead of firing you, an employer will lay you off like they’re firing you so it won’t look as bad?
SPEAKER 10 :
No, it makes a difference with your unemployment if you’re going to collect unemployment. if you quit, your benefits are different than if you get laid off.
SPEAKER 03 :
Or fired. Or fired.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, that’s what I was going to say. Colorado’s an at-will state, so it favors the business owner, so they can pretty much fire you whenever. But did you also know you can quit whenever you want? You can just tell that company, kiss my backside, and you can walk out.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, the thing is not only at-will state, but it’s a right-to-work state. It’s not a right-to-work state. No, it is.
SPEAKER 10 :
Colorado is not a right-to-work state.
SPEAKER 03 :
Look it up.
SPEAKER 10 :
It’s not a right to work.
SPEAKER 06 :
This is good. This is good. People call us at 303-477-5600. Reno just now started debunking the actor.
SPEAKER 03 :
It is not a right to work. But how I’ve envisioned it or understood it is if I let go of somebody, they quit, or I fire them. I can’t keep them from working for somebody else. So I’m a windshield repair company, and I can’t have anything that says that they can’t go and work for someone else because it is a right to work state, as far as I knew. No?
SPEAKER 10 :
Colorado is not a right to work state.
SPEAKER 06 :
So that’s funny. Do you believe that a company or an organization should ever blackball… like an employee like let’s say they want to progress and go forward and they’re a good worker and they’re like hey i’m giving you my two-week notice do you think that company should ever like when the other company calls up like hey how did they do be like no they were a horrible worker just do that it’s illegal to do that it is illegal gotcha gotcha you can only ask for references um you can’t really ask about performance actually you can ask the question will i hire them again Yeah. Well, you know what I’m saying? But I mean, what’s the point of even having references? I mean, why does the new company a person is going to work for even want to know what kind of employee this person was? I mean, my supervisor may very well undercover may not have liked me and I don’t know what he’s telling the new company. He may very well be like, ah, I don’t know about this guy, man.
SPEAKER 03 :
See, here’s the thing, though. It’s in the words. So if you ask, how long were they there? And you ask, would you hire them again? The answer that you get there is very poignant. It matters. If they say they would hire them again, well, they’re a good worker. If they say they wouldn’t, they’re not a good worker. Or you just didn’t like that person. Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, you know what I’m saying? Like, I mean, I think it works both ways. I mean, if anybody knows more than us, call us at 303-477-5600. You guys are business owners.
SPEAKER 04 :
I want to know what’s the biggest difference from working with the union and not having the union from getting fired. So working with the union protects you more, right?
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, it’s not about, it’s really not about protection for having or not having your job. But they negotiate wages. And they negotiate benefits. So it’s not about, if you’re an underperformer, should you get fired?
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s a good question. That’s a very good question. If you’re a lazy underperformer, should you get fired?
SPEAKER 10 :
Because the union shouldn’t protect you just because you’re a union and you’re an underperformer. You should get fired if you’re not doing what’s necessary.
SPEAKER 06 :
But doesn’t that come down? Isn’t that about a person? Because what makes a person lazy? Is it their mental state?
SPEAKER 04 :
choice choice that’s a good that’s a good response i think mindset and habit so you think habit you think choice but i think a lot has to do with you know it’s been a curse you know you were cursed to till the ground that’s what happened adam so when he messed up the lord put a curse on him to till the ground for the Rest of his days. So they should be lazy? No, I think it’s just a curse and you hate it. I mean, you hate laboring so much. I mean, if you got a hard job, I mean, you don’t want to go to it.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, whatever the hand finds to do, do it with all they will. With all they might. With all they might.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, I mean, there’s some people out there.
SPEAKER 04 :
But regardless, there’s still a curse to it. Regardless of what. You know what I’m saying? There’s a curse behind that.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER 04 :
For sure. So women got cursed with labor pains and men got cursed with labor. Listen, it doesn’t matter what you guys all say. But at the end of the line, why do you think people are all trying to win Powerball?
SPEAKER 06 :
Not all jobs are a curse, dude. I will disagree with that until the cows come home. I promise you, athletes are not thinking catching a football on Monday night in front of 90,000 people is a curse. Well, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Like my professor said, we got to bring facts to the table, guys. We can’t just throw out whatever. Because I don’t think every job’s a curse.
SPEAKER 04 :
I think working’s a curse, yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
You’re just saying working in general.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
If anybody agrees with Truth, give us a call at 303-477-5600. We’d really like to hear from you guys. Back to this laziness.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay, you just brought up professional football athletes that enjoy their job. They’re still paying power. They’re probably playing powerball themselves, bro. Would you play Powerball if you had $100 million in the bank account? Would you? Why? You’ve got millions of dollars.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, but did you? I don’t know if they’re playing Powerball. I don’t know. Yeah, I’ve heard of them. Okay, fine. I’m telling you guys my perspective as the guy’s perspective. If I had $100 million in the bank account, I ain’t playing Powerball.
SPEAKER 03 :
Powerball and the lottery is a tax on poor people.
SPEAKER 06 :
Ooh, man, that hit us.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s a Dave Ramsey quote, though.
SPEAKER 06 :
So what if somebody, okay, for example, there’s people out there that have ADHD. What if that person, for example, let’s say me, Brock, I had ADHD, I go to work. Can that make me lazy? I mean, how’s my employer going to know what if I have some kind of like struggle with And now all of a sudden they want to can my butt because I’m lazy. Like, do they have to take all that into consideration? Like, isn’t all that a part of being lazy?
SPEAKER 04 :
To be quite honest, I think laziness comes from eating, your eating habits, your weight. You know, if you’re really heavy, you’re mostly pretty lazy. Because I know I’ve been in it.
SPEAKER 10 :
I disagree with that. Really? Just because you’re big, you’re lazy? Yeah. Yeah, I would say you’re eating habits.
SPEAKER 04 :
Definitely.
SPEAKER 10 :
There’s people that have hormone problems that are heavier that could do backflips and all kind of stuff. I mean, just because they’re bigger doesn’t mean that they’re lazy. No, I think weight has an issue.
SPEAKER 03 :
Don’t fat shame, B. That’s a bad stereotype.
SPEAKER 06 :
You’re fat. Call us guys at 303-477-5600. Tell us about somebody you’ve ever worked with in your life. Not someone you’re currently working with, but somebody you have worked with that was just absolutely lazy. I mean, because think about it. If you’ve got somebody who’s so lazy that you’ve got to carry their weight, that’s hard, dude. Yeah.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
But at the same time, I wonder if sometimes we don’t understand. Because I think it’s a mental thing. Like, you think it’s a food thing and a weight thing. What do you think laziness is?
SPEAKER 10 :
I think it’s mental, but I think it’s also a choice. I think it’s a choice. What do you say?
SPEAKER 03 :
A choice with habit, though. But it’s habit formed that needs to be broken.
SPEAKER 06 :
What do you mean? They just woke up one day and just decided…
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, like, I mean, people who are depressed would probably be lazy because they’re in a rut. Gotcha.
SPEAKER 04 :
So can your eating habits make you depressed? Yes, eating habits.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, so I’m a little crick. Oh, thank you. So you’re saying a rut over time, right? Like… That’s good. I never thought about depression can make a person late. I never thought about that.
SPEAKER 10 :
I think everything happens over time. You choose to be lazy one day, and that goes like a snowball.
SPEAKER 06 :
So you guys are just saying little minor things cause a person to become lazy.
SPEAKER 03 :
How many here have made their bed in the morning, the very first thing you did? there’s three out of four of us so everybody there’s okay if you raised okay so around the room did you raise your hand reno yes bry no yes and i did so three of us raised our hand making your bed is crucial in the morning guys yeah that’s a start to the day
SPEAKER 06 :
Do you really believe that, though? Because there’s a lot of books that teach about that. Really?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. Well, I made my bed yesterday. I just didn’t make it today.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s funny we’re saying that because it teaches your first victory is making your bed. Oh, my. It is a victory, but I get all the people that don’t do it.
SPEAKER 04 :
I think a lot of it has to do with your occupation also of being lazy. If you’ve got a job that you’re not really interested in, you know it’s not going to be your job going forward forever. You could just blow it off to the side and just be there to collect the check.
SPEAKER 10 :
Are you interested in the paycheck?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah. So, okay, so that’s a good question. And anybody who knows more than us calls at 303-477-5600. What’s the difference between an employee that loves their job and one that just wants a paycheck? Is that the lazy person?
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s about finding passion, the passion that you have. You know, you need preparation that meets opportunity. Then you’ll find your passion. You prepare for something for a long time and then the opportunity comes and now all of a sudden that’s your passion.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, well, let me ask you guys this. If Colorado is, you know, can fire somebody at will, why doesn’t people, like, get it in their mind, like, this is the career I want, this is the type of money I want, visualize it and go after it?
SPEAKER 10 :
You don’t always know what you want. You think you know what you want, then you start doing it and you don’t like it, so you might want to change.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, that’s good because I’m 50 and I don’t know what I want. You’re 50. I’m 50 years old. You’re 48, boy. But I found out what I wanted to do a long time ago, but it was contrary to sound doctrine. So I found myself wanting to chase something that I knew I couldn’t chase. What was that? I could have been a professional poker player. I could have made it big time. pogo poker poker yeah so i was like pogo player i i could have took it to the next level but i i i just knew that you know a lot of tournaments were on sunday that interfered with church and you know in the church you know disregards somebody playing poker wait a second truth you told us before that you wanted to be a marriage counselor Yeah, but I did some research on that, and it was like a 10-year… I didn’t figure that out until I was in my 40s, and then it’s like I’ve got to go to college for 10 years. Hey, we’re never too old. To do that.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, that’s what I was going to say. Can a person not ever achieve their goal? Here’s a caller right here. If a person… If a person decides that they want to do A, B, C, and D, regardless of their age, can they still do it? Oh, absolutely.
SPEAKER 04 :
But, you know, I bring that up because I don’t want to be that guy. I don’t want to be that person that goes to college.
SPEAKER 03 :
Oh, no, not yet. Oh. You got to wait. You got to wait on our… I still have never understood the thing. Charlie in the booth will let you know if we got a caller.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, okay. I just see a name pop up and I go with it.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, I don’t want to be that person that goes to college for 10 years and spends all that money.
SPEAKER 06 :
Hey, Eric, how’s it going?
SPEAKER 12 :
Hi there. Hey, man. Eric. How you doing, Eric? Okay. I’ve been listening to you guys for a while. Nice. And this topic… this topic is just genuine to me. Right on. I think that we, the people that pay the salaries of our state congressmen and women and our state Senator men and women, and that president of the United States should create a consecutive order that if we’re not satisfied and the senators and the Congress people and you know, in all 50 States, doesn’t pass the C grade, that we should be able to fire them.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, wow. Wow. Tell us more. So you think Congress should have like a time limit and stuff?
SPEAKER 10 :
I absolutely agree with them. I agree with them.
SPEAKER 12 :
You know, if you’re not, you know, because Colorado, for an example… Look at the, I’m a Republican, I’m a black conservative Republican guy.
SPEAKER 06 :
Right, uh-huh, yeah, I’m with you, bro. Truth ain’t, truth ain’t in the actors, not the Democrats, but that’s all right.
SPEAKER 12 :
The Democrats, they got so much power down there at the Capitol that they’re treating all of us, to me personally, They’re bringing back modern-day slavery because they just, you know, run amok on what they want to do and try how they want to run our lives. We have no freedom no more too much in Colorado.
SPEAKER 03 :
Hey, brother, I’m actually with you, Eric. I’m about less government all up in my business.
SPEAKER 12 :
I just think that they should be on the hot seat sometimes to see, you know, how it feels.
SPEAKER 06 :
Eric, let me ask you a question. How do you think our current president is doing as of now?
SPEAKER 12 :
I love the guy, my boy.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER 12 :
Wait just a second. Hey, just a second. My wife, she bought me a Trump watch for Christmas.
SPEAKER 06 :
I love it. Eric, so one other thing, it’s you should go to our, we’re at theguysperspective.org. Go to our website. Thank you for listening to us every week and continue to call in, man. One last thought. So out of all the topics you’ve listened to is which one do you think is the best out of all of them?
SPEAKER 12 :
Oh, my God, that’s why I called in right now. I just love this topic. This is it for me. You are the man right on, Eric.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay, God bless.
SPEAKER 12 :
Thank you for calling. God bless.
SPEAKER 07 :
Bye-bye.
SPEAKER 04 :
Hey, so what he was saying about Congress people, so after they become a political… They get to stay on board, right?
SPEAKER 06 :
Congress doesn’t have a time limit, to my knowledge, unless you guys are wrong. If anybody wants to vote, call at 303-477-5600. They don’t get voted out like the mayor. Yeah, but I don’t think they have a time limit. Like, the president can only do eight years.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, so you can get voted in nonstop for your whole life. Yeah. See, they should all be given a time limit, just like the president.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s what Eric was saying. We need to be able to critique Bill.
SPEAKER 04 :
They need to bring in new blood. They need to bring in the truth. That’s what they need to bring in.
SPEAKER 10 :
But anyway… You don’t want to see the truth of a governor? No, I agree with Eric. I think they should also go through an interview process that I don’t think the election is good enough.
SPEAKER 06 :
Like the taxpayers should be able to be able to interview those dudes.
SPEAKER 04 :
Of course the election ain’t good enough. What, the last previous election was forged?
SPEAKER 06 :
You can’t say that you don’t have sound facts on that, dude. No, no, no, not this one, the one prior. It doesn’t matter. When Biden won? That doesn’t matter, you cheated. There is not sound facts on that.
SPEAKER 04 :
There is sound facts. They had ballots. Okay, show me. They had ballots.
SPEAKER 06 :
Because my professor would disagree with you completely. I’m telling you, they had ballots for more than what people who voted… registered bro people if you are listening we’re going to go into the other half calls at 303-477-5600 i’m telling you right now hearing stuff on facebook and and twitter and x does not mean it is true we don’t know for a fact if when biden won if it was rigged how do we know that sounds good let me tell you in trump’s words and it would be uh
SPEAKER 03 :
Eric, you started a great fire. A great, great fire in this room. And we’re ready to go to war.
SPEAKER 06 :
No, no, no, no. He brought up a good point. There needs to be change. On the other side, people, like Eric said, this is one of our best shows ever. Call us at 303-477-5600. We’ll let you guys have your time on the air. Tell us what you think about our topics. Tell us what you think about the actor, Reno, Truth, or me. If we’re full of garbage, let us know. Otherwise, talk to us.
SPEAKER 03 :
How much do you think a Trump watch goes for me?
SPEAKER 11 :
and they don’t care about what you know it’s not about how you feel but what you provide inside that home being a man is what you make it you can’t always live up to expectations you try to please everybody while you struggle so you fake it and end up out of balance compromising situations that’s a good

SPEAKER 02 :
Welcome to A Guy’s Perspective, where they discuss real life topics that men today are dealing with, whether married, single parent, or just single. We invite you to call into this live program with your comments and questions. And here they are.
SPEAKER 06 :
How’s everybody doing? This is the second half of The Guy’s Perspective, KOZ 560 AM. Call us at 303-477-5600. We’re talking about How Colorado is basically a no-fault station at Will State, like they can fire somebody at Will. A person can quit at Will. But before we get into it, we want to say we’re raffling off two gift cards. So the second caller will get a gift card to the, I thought we said second caller. To Olive Garden. Second caller will get the gift card to Olive Garden. Go to our social media page, theguysperspective.org. T-H-E-G-U-Y-S-P-E-R-S-P-I-C-T-V-E dot O-R-G. Before we get started, man, have you ever… Okay, Reno.
SPEAKER 10 :
Quick question. Since John never called in, shouldn’t it go to the next person?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yep. Well, we just started. We just got the gift card, so it’ll have to be the second caller.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, what about John?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, we don’t know how to get in contact. John, if you’re listening, give us a call, man, so we can get you your steak dinner.
SPEAKER 04 :
John might be a little upset, bro.
SPEAKER 06 :
John’s probably upset. Well, we’ll give him a steak dinner with an appetizer. I don’t know what more we can do. Sounds good, John.
SPEAKER 10 :
What I’m saying is, shouldn’t it go to the next caller if that caller doesn’t respond?
SPEAKER 03 :
We could… Like default to the next caller?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, we didn’t decide that. So now the next caller up gets the gift card, and you’ve got to come in the studio, talk with us, guys. Before we get started, what’s your coolest dance move you’ve ever done, dude? Like the coolest.
SPEAKER 05 :
Show us right here.
SPEAKER 06 :
Show us right here. Yeah, give us a dance move right now, buddy. Stand on up and give us a dance move.
SPEAKER 05 :
Stand on up.
SPEAKER 06 :
Show us a dance move.
SPEAKER 1 :
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
Give us a cool dance move, bro.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, my knee hurts.
SPEAKER 06 :
I got a bad knee, bro. Do you got a cool dance move? Stand up and show us. Okay. Okay, well, I’m giving y’all mine.
SPEAKER 1 :
Stay alive.
SPEAKER 03 :
Stay alive.
SPEAKER 06 :
Stay alive. All right, let’s get going to this. Oh, we got a caller done already. Oh, man. Okay, anyway, back to what we’re saying. What do you guys think about what Eric says? Do you think Congress and all of them should… Should have a time limit.
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, should have a time limit. I think they should have a time limit in an interview process.
SPEAKER 03 :
A lot of them look expired already. First daddy.
SPEAKER 10 :
What is this?
SPEAKER 06 :
Hello? First daddy? Hello? Talk to us, dad.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yes. Oh, this is Brian’s dad calling in.
SPEAKER 14 :
And this is the truth. What do you got to tell us? You’re not 50. I talked to your mom about that the other day.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s some funny stuff. What do you think? Do you think Congress should have a time limit? Do you think they should be able to get fired?
SPEAKER 14 :
Absolutely. Absolutely. There’s no reason why those guys can stay in office. for 30 plus years and still not get the job done. They need to move on.
SPEAKER 06 :
Wow.
SPEAKER 14 :
Wow.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s real stuff right there. Okay, next question. Since the president was elected for four years, lost the election, came back in for four years, should he be able to get eight consecutive years? Or do you think it should stay the way it is? After his four years, he’s got to go.
SPEAKER 14 :
Uh… Man, it just depends on how much crying and whining you want to hear from people in general, I guess. It depends on what happens these four years. If he’s doing a great job and everybody else is kind of sucking, why not? Why change?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, if he’s doing a good job, regardless if you’re Republican or Democrat, then yeah, he should. But, I mean, I think… Yeah, I don’t think he should get eight years just like every other president. He already did four. He should only get four more.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, he should only get four more, but do you think he should be able to get eight since he lost the election? No, he already had four. Okay, so he should only get four.
SPEAKER 14 :
I mean… Maybe there needs to be a little bit different changes if there’s those confident presidents around or people running for office.
SPEAKER 03 :
Wait a second. Wow. Wait a second, First Daddy. Are you looking for a king? You want a king? Remember what happened, man.
SPEAKER 06 :
They got Saul for a king, man. Thank you for calling in, First Daddy. Thank you so much.
SPEAKER 03 :
All right. Later.
SPEAKER 06 :
Keep on trucking.
SPEAKER 03 :
Bye. Keep on trucking.
SPEAKER 06 :
Dude, he made a good point. He turned around and said, hey, you know what?
SPEAKER 03 :
There should be a time limit.
SPEAKER 06 :
But if the president’s doing a good job, let him stay in. I kind of agree with that.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, there’s a time limit for the president, but not for the Congress.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, that’s a little strange. Who’s the longest running Congress person? Pelosi?
SPEAKER 06 :
No, I don’t think she’s in anymore. I think she retired, right?
SPEAKER 04 :
She was probably the longest at…
SPEAKER 06 :
She was probably one of the longest.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
I mean, that’s good. If you’re listening to us, call us at 303-477-5600. Hold on, Big Daddy, thank you for calling, or Bad Daddy, or whatever his name was, and thank you for Eric calling. We need one more caller to call on in and tell us what you think at 303-477-5600.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, and I think, you know, I’m not political in any means, right? But… When Trump was president the first time and he did his speech and Pelosi ripped up that paper right in the back of him. Do you guys know what I’m talking about?
SPEAKER 01 :
Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
I thought that was so disrespectful. No matter who you are. Right. Right. No matter who the president is. No matter if you agree with him or not. Right. Yeah. I thought that. And that’s why you need change. You can’t have those kind of people in Congress. I’m sorry. Right.
SPEAKER 06 :
Agreed. I agree. I think there should be a time limit for Congress people. Just like at your job, think about this. If you’ve been at your job for, let’s say, 25 years and you can no longer perform, will they get rid of you?
SPEAKER 10 :
It depends on which job. Because if you can no longer perform, then you have to… I mean, if you’re working for, like, the city, then they’ll put you in a different part of the job. Gotcha. But if you’re working outside just for a contractor, they’re going to get rid of you if you cannot perform your job.
SPEAKER 06 :
You can’t perform.
SPEAKER 10 :
Because that’s how the money is made, by performance.
SPEAKER 06 :
What do you say? If you’ve been on the job for 20 years and can’t perform, should they get rid of you?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, I think so. Okay. I think so.
SPEAKER 04 :
I think with a settlement at least. For your hard service.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, if you can no longer perform, then you’re… I mean, there’s disability, so there’s different levels of disability.
SPEAKER 06 :
So that goes along with Congress because I think the current Congress people we have need to go. But I also believe that Because I don’t think they’re doing a good job. I want to say it like that. Our Colorado, and I’m not mentioning any names, but I don’t think that Colorado is a very well-ran state. That’s me, though. No. I don’t. I mean, if so, then our roads would be fixed.
SPEAKER 04 :
I mean, you know, hey, man, money’s going somewhere. Money’s going somewhere. But weather has a lot to do with that. Like, weather just destroys concrete. When it snows, that’s the wrap.
SPEAKER 06 :
Hey, no, no, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER 04 :
It’s so hard.
SPEAKER 10 :
Let’s hear it. Okay, so the tax for the marijuana sales was supposed to go to the roads in school, I think. So the roads are, my opinion is the roads are in, They’re in worse condition than before they were. Yeah. I mean, there’s no change.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, there’s no change. You go down I-25 or Colfax. Have they ever fixed up Colfax?
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, it’s primarily because of the influx of people that have come from other states. And so we have many more drivers. I don’t want to hear that.
SPEAKER 07 :
That was a call at 303-477-5600.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’m with the Reno. I ain’t hearing that. I ain’t hearing that. Well, that ended that argument. Yeah, man. He came at you strong, Reno.
SPEAKER 10 :
There’s snow. There’s snow now. There was snow back then. True. I mean, what’s the difference?
SPEAKER 06 :
I don’t think the roads are as bad as you guys are making it out to be. I agree with what you say, 100%. I mean, you tried coming at him strong.
SPEAKER 03 :
Reno had you on that one, bro. No, look, man. If you have a woman who’s run through as much as that road, there’d be a bunch of dents and bruises.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’m telling you. We’re sorry, ladies. Or a guy.
SPEAKER 03 :
If there’s a guy it’s all run through.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’m telling you right now, man, I think at least from what I’ve noticed, we’ve all been, we’ve lived here for years. I-25 ain’t changed. But that’s a good thing, man. I fix windshields.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, it’s good for your business. Yeah, as long as they keep the roads ruddy, then I get paid. I mean, you know what I’m saying?
SPEAKER 06 :
Like, you can probably picture a street in your mind. You drive down and you get over the road because you know that pothole is going to be there today.
SPEAKER 04 :
Hey, why didn’t Big Daddy get the gift card? He was the same color.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, he needs to get the gift card. Charlie, we have his number, right? I think, okay, we got his number. First Daddy. Yeah, First Daddy. So we’ll give him a call and have him come into the studio and give him a gift card. Let’s keep going. Train of thought. You jacked up my train of thought by that. But anyway, so what do you guys think about what he was saying? If the president’s the competent person and there’s nobody able to do anything, should his term start back over? Should he get eight years instead of just the four?
SPEAKER 04 :
Can the president fire congresspeople?
SPEAKER 06 :
Is he ahead to fire anybody in Congress? No, no, no, no. I don’t think he can fire Congress people.
SPEAKER 03 :
They get voted in, voted out.
SPEAKER 04 :
Oh, so there’s a vote.
SPEAKER 03 :
And then they get re-voted in.
SPEAKER 04 :
But it’s the same Congress people that are voting in the Congress people, correct?
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, for sure. Because the way the Democratic Party and Republican Party works is you want to hold the House. You want to hold the chair. You know what I’m saying? So you’re going to vote your party in.
SPEAKER 04 :
But that doesn’t make any sense. Because if you have a president that’s a Republican or a Democrat, he’s going to vote in Democrat Congress people.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, that’s what I’m saying. So then how do the same people have the job for 30 years if you have difference? If you let me explain, and anyone who knows better, call at 303-477-5600. What you’re asking is, if I’m a Republican president, I want everybody that’s going to follow my belief. So I’m going to get everybody I can to vote in Republican. That’s the bottom line. You want people to follow your mission. If you vote in Democrats who are against what you believe, then you’re never going to accomplish your goals.
SPEAKER 04 :
So then how do the Democrats still keep their job?
SPEAKER 06 :
Because they keep getting voted in by other Democrats.
SPEAKER 04 :
But if a Republican is president.
SPEAKER 06 :
He can’t just fire those people. They have to be voted in and voted out. And if anybody knows more than us, call us at 303-477-5600. I think that’s right. They have to be voted in. I don’t think the president can just walk up to a congressperson and be like, you’re down the road.
SPEAKER 03 :
One thing’s for certain. We need to learn a little bit more.
SPEAKER 06 :
No, no, no, no. I’ve studied on it from my knowledge. From my knowledge, I don’t think that can happen. I don’t think the president has the power because of the way the laws are set up. He can’t just walk into Congress and fire everybody. He can’t do that.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, one thing’s for certain. We need to learn a little bit more.
SPEAKER 06 :
Again, people call us at 303-477-5600. Back to what we were saying. Should Colorado be able or your employer just be able to can you? I agree with you. We need to learn a little more? Yeah. I’ve been trying to study on it, buddies. I’ve been trying to get us up to speed. So what’s discrimination to you? Hold on. What’s discrimination to you? Before you ask that question.
SPEAKER 03 :
I mean, I guess it’s usually anything from discrimination against anybody that is capable of doing the job. Okay. So if said individual, male, female, black, white, is capable of doing the job and you choose someone other than them, then that’s discrimination. What do you say discrimination is?
SPEAKER 04 :
Ethnic, you know, race.
SPEAKER 05 :
What do you say discrimination is?
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, if you like to tag on what Heath was saying, if you don’t give them the job because of the color of their skin or… whether they’re male or female, gay or straight, and you choose the person less qualified because of those reasons, that’s discriminating.
SPEAKER 06 :
Do you think when it comes to an interview, and I hope you got your question because you’re going to ask us right now. Do you think when it comes to an interview, do you feel like, let me ask you, in you guys’ job experience, do you ever feel like you’ve been discriminated against?
SPEAKER 10 :
Yes. Tell us. I had all the qualifications for the job, but I wasn’t the right color to get it. I mean, it was pretty obvious. What about you?
SPEAKER 04 :
No, I mean, I get favor wherever I go. I mean, I’m… Is it that white car you’re pulling out?
SPEAKER 06 :
That kid’s a brother from Chicago? Dirty.
SPEAKER 03 :
Oh, it’s because he was from Chicago.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, man, that’s dirty. What about you?
SPEAKER 05 :
Have you ever been discriminated against?
SPEAKER 03 :
Uh, in, in, in work or anything like that?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 03 :
I don’t, I don’t think so. The only thing that comes close is like when I was in like middle school and, and I knew what it felt like to be the minority because it was a predominantly Hispanic school. So I, I kinda, I kinda felt like that, what, what that was like being bullied because I was, I was not the same.
SPEAKER 05 :
Gotcha.
SPEAKER 03 :
I mean, but I knuckled up, though.
SPEAKER 06 :
For all our listeners, we’re at 303-477-5600. Let’s ask you, Arino. I mean, you’re from Chicago. Good-looking black dude. Do you ever feel like society has ever treated you different? Yes. Really? I didn’t expect to hear that. You’re a successful man. Like…
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, on several different occasions, but I just keep moving.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, okay, okay. What about you? It’s a hard obstacle, huh? Yeah, we’re hearing it directly from his mouth right here. That ain’t something we’re making up. That’s pretty powerful right there.
SPEAKER 03 :
What about you, Brock?
SPEAKER 06 :
Being mixed, I think… God, man, I don’t know. Tell you the truth. I would say on the oil rig I have been for sure.
SPEAKER 03 :
Like on the oil rig, it was harsh. I have a question for a mixed, man. I have a question for a mixed.
SPEAKER 06 :
Don’t ask me if I’m alligator hunting. Yes, I have.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, do you play both sides?
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, dude, I do.
SPEAKER 03 :
You’ll play white sometimes.
SPEAKER 06 :
You’ll play black sometimes. I do. I do ride the fence on that, bro.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s another story. That’s another show.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s a whole other story. But no, no, no, no. You’re asking a good question.
SPEAKER 03 :
Light-skinned.
SPEAKER 06 :
right no you’re asking a good question but um so do you have any african indian my mom yeah my mom is creole wow cajun yeah i mean you guys know i’m from louisiana french i mean french and black french and black okay yeah well so so uh so sometimes i guess i can do that where it would be different for arena what what are you mixed with exactly
SPEAKER 10 :
Black.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, but what is that? What is that exactly? Have you ever traced your family tree back?
SPEAKER 10 :
Yeah, there’s a little bit of other stuff.
SPEAKER 04 :
Gotcha. Yeah, I’ve traced. I did my family tree. What are you mixed with? I’m mixed with Indian.
SPEAKER 06 :
You’re a liar.
SPEAKER 04 :
You are? Yeah, my dad’s mother’s mother’s 100% Indian. Wow. I just found that out. Dude, it was so funny. How? My dad had an old picture that he pulled out of his closet one day. He’s like, this is your great-grandma. She’s 100% Indian. I was like, that makes me a fourth Indian. Wow.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
My dad’s German and Irish, and my mom is French and black. So what about you?
SPEAKER 03 :
I guess I’m Euromut.
SPEAKER 06 :
What is a Euromut? Anybody who knows what a Euromut is, please call us at 303-477-5600. I ain’t never heard this.
SPEAKER 03 :
European mutt, man. So I’m German, obviously the last name Heine, Heine, Heinrich, and Swiss, and Dutch, so yeah. White, white, white.
SPEAKER 10 :
I’m actually, there’s German, Swedish, Blackfoot, and Cherokee Indian.
SPEAKER 06 :
From your mom’s side, dad’s side, really? Yeah.
SPEAKER 10 :
From one side is Blackfoot, the other side is Cherokee.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s why we connect, that Indian in us, man. Anybody who knows more about discrimination or if Congress should get the boot after a time limit, call us at 303-477-5600.
SPEAKER 03 :
So my question was going to be before we got on this tangent of… Well, we’re talking about people getting fired. I was going to ask all of us guys here, who has experienced being fired and how did that go? Lost a job or fired or quit?
SPEAKER 06 :
My job currently listens.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, no, no, not this one.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, yeah, let’s see. I think my very first job, because, okay, I’ll tell you how many jobs I’ve had. I worked for Enzyme International. I worked for XL. I work for, well, I currently work for Summit Utility and I worked for Swingle Tree Service in high school. But my very first job ever, the fifth job, I’ve only had five jobs ever. I worked at Arby’s and this fool fired me first day. I couldn’t make the cheese on the, you know, You know, the stuff they got right there, the cheese stuff. You throw the cheese there. Well, I grabbed a clear cup. Yeah, I was making everybody’s stuff. Couldn’t cut the cheese, man. I was making everybody’s stuff wrong. I turned around and grabbed a clear cup with some Sprite. This dude… Man, wherever that guy is right now, man, I hope he got fired somewhere in his life. The dude walks up to me, right, my first day. He looks in the cup. I’m like 16, and he’s like, hey, what you got there? And I was like, you know, hard day work. I got some straight. I’ve been standing on my feet for eight hours. He’s like, come with me, young man. I was like, I thought I was getting a promotion. I was like, yeah, man, I must have been the best sandwich maker of all time. He takes me in the back room, and he’s like, sign right here. I’m like, oh, cool. I signed it without reading it. He’s like, you’re fired. Get out of here.
SPEAKER 03 :
For Sprite?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, my first day even. I mean, I must have been a bad sandwich maker to get fired my first day.
SPEAKER 04 :
And you were bad, weren’t you? Getting fired at Arby’s? That’s a dink in the armor, dude.
SPEAKER 06 :
Getting fired from a fast food joint? Okay, so that’s never going on my resume is what I’m trying to say. I’m not putting that on my resume. So if anybody knows better than us, call us at 303-477-5600. Dude, I’ve never got fired from a fast food restaurant, bro. Well, I’m sorry, but I did. So people, listen, if you think… Somebody should unlawfully be terminated, or if you’re a business owner out there, give us a call and tell us about somebody you can. That would be cool. So let’s go around the room, boys. Are we all in agreement that as a business owner, you should be able to fire somebody at any time?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yes. I’ve canned some people. I hate doing it, man, but I have.
SPEAKER 10 :
Does it feel weird when you’ve got to do it?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, man.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, I’ve had instances where I’ve absolutely loved it. Really? Get away from me. Get away from my business.
SPEAKER 06 :
Was her energy so bad or something?
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, there’s people who they say they have a certain background. And then when they’re on the job, there’s certain things that being an electrician that you know that if someone doesn’t know how to do that, they falsify something somewhere.
SPEAKER 03 :
You’ve been lying about.
SPEAKER 10 :
So I will take out the ax absolutely with no hesitation.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah. God, why would someone lie about knowing how to be an electrician? Because of the pay. I don’t get it.
SPEAKER 03 :
There’s a lot of people fake it to make it, man. Fake it to make it.
SPEAKER 06 :
Gotcha. That would be like somebody saying they got a CDL and they can’t drive the semi. Like, I don’t get it.
SPEAKER 10 :
I have a CDL. I can’t drive a semi. Call us at 303-477-5600.
SPEAKER 06 :
What about you? Like…
SPEAKER 03 :
Have I ever lost a job, got canned, fired?
SPEAKER 06 :
No, firing people. I mean, have you ever – did they lie to you on their resume? Is that what happened?
SPEAKER 03 :
No, man. The only people that I’ve fired – okay, so one guy I fired because he had a phone that was provided for him by Clearview Windshield Repair, and I was able to track where he was, and I was like, hey, man, are you over at Toyota doing windshield repairs? Yeah, yeah, I’m over there. No, he was at Park Meadows hanging out for a few hours. And he just wasn’t working? Just simply not working. But here’s the thing, man. You need to hire people based on character because you can’t really fake character. Right. Oh, yeah, you can fake it easy, bro. And work ethic and stuff. You ain’t faking work ethic. When it comes to work ethic and in business, what I’ve found is the numbers don’t lie. People lie, but the numbers don’t lie. What do you mean? So if I know that I can do $1,000 a day and it takes me eight hours to do or something, then if somebody’s doing a portion of that quantifiably, I can determine how much they actually worked. But that would be easy to fake my character. You are a character. No, easy. That would be easy.
SPEAKER 04 :
How would you fake your character in front of people that know you every day? That know you? No, I’m talking at a job interview.
SPEAKER 06 :
Oh, for the initial job interview. You mean look your best, go in? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But like Reno said, if you’re applying to be an electrician and you don’t know how to be an electrician, they’re going to know the same day. No, yeah.
SPEAKER 10 :
As soon as you pick up the tools. That’s the way he said it.
SPEAKER 09 :
He said it with a smile on his face.
SPEAKER 03 :
I know. I shouldn’t have picked up the tools.
SPEAKER 06 :
Anybody who knows more than us, call us at 303-477-5600. We want to thank Eric for calling in. We want to thank Big Daddy for calling in. We got a few more minutes, so somebody call on in. If you believe that you can fake your way all the way through an interview, give us a call. I don’t think you can anymore. They got AI. How do you fake out AI?
SPEAKER 10 :
You could fake your way through an interview. I mean, an interview isn’t proof that you could do the job anyway.
SPEAKER 03 :
No, it’s just telling that you can.
SPEAKER 06 :
So do you think that’s grounds for termination? If somebody says, hey, I’m an electrician, you hire them as an electrician, they don’t even have the tools. Fired. Fired. Immediately. Immediately.
SPEAKER 10 :
Because you’re putting people in danger. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay, let’s go to you with windshields. If somebody says they know how to change windshields, you give them a job and they…
SPEAKER 03 :
roll up on their bicycle you know well with uh windshield repairs and stuff like that i i just pretty much i i’m so good at it that i just figured nobody knows how to do it right so i’m gonna teach them anyway they’re either gonna i’m either gonna break them down which is hard to break somebody down from what they already think they know to teaching them how it ought to be done
SPEAKER 06 :
Let’s go over here to you. Like chemicals as a janitor.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, if you don’t know how to use the plunger, you’re down the road. If you can’t pull up a scrub brush and scrub toilets, you can, bro.
SPEAKER 06 :
Man, you guys are a tough bunch right here. I’m not a business owner, so I don’t know what I would do. But if anybody’s got any questions for the guys, we’re at 303-477-5600 every Saturday from 2 to 3. Arino. So if you…
SPEAKER 10 :
if you say you’re an apprentice that’s different gotcha gotcha if you if you’re a licensed electrician because anyone could test to get to get the license if you have you know so some just basic knowledge but if you if you show up in your I’ve been an electrician for 10 years, but I don’t have a license, and you can’t do certain things. Right. You’re fired.

Yeah, if somebody subscribes to our newsletter, what if they turn around and say, hey, like, pray for me. Think we should take a prayer request every once in a while? I mean, you know… Of course. SPEAKER 06 :
We’re about to head out, but God bless America. We thank you for everybody who’s listening to us and continue to listen to us and support us. Have a good afternoon.
SPEAKER 13 :
God bless you, Eric. I don’t expect you to understand I just hope I can explain What it’s like to be a man It’s a lonely road And they don’t care about what you know. It’s not about how you feel, but what you provide inside that home.
SPEAKER 11 :
Being a man is what you make it. You can’t always live up to expectations. You try to please everybody while you struggle, so you fake it. And end up out of balance, compromising situations as a good man.
