I’m grateful to be surrounded by smart people on many stations around the country and certainly on Salem News Channel. My show is preceded by Chris DeGaulle. Chris is a guy who kind of cut his teeth in Philadelphia talk radio, just done a tremendous job. I got to know him on a cruise we went on together. Spiritual guy, good husband, father. And he had a take that was so spectacular this morning that I had to share it with you. In fact, we probably ought to see if we can get Fast Eddie on the horn gang and see if we can’t lift some of Chris’s monologue from his, I think it was his 6 o’clock Eastern hour, when he was pointing out that the same people who are viciously attacking law enforcement, with their anti-ICE rhetoric, are also now saying, gosh, I hope Savannah Guthrie’s mother is found as they’re seeking her return. We hope law enforcement… will really do a great job there in Tucson and find this poor 84-year-old woman who was, the police believe, abducted from her home. Let’s turn to law enforcement now. And let’s hope that law enforcement can really do a great job and do what they are capable of doing. We’re praying for her return, and we are. We’re all praying for her return. We all are hoping law enforcement can do its job and find her safe. But some of us are noticing the rank hypocrisy of the anti-law enforcement garbage and how different it is when we need law enforcement to solve a crime. Chris was magnificent on this. And I just want to reiterate what he said. Like Chris, I’m furious about this as well. I am so sick. Did you hear the little old lady who called my show yesterday? I don’t want to pick on her. Her name was Etta. So if you’re named Etta, I’m guessing she’s not 21 years old. That doesn’t mean anything. I’m not trying to pick on her because she was a nice little old lady. But Etta called in, oh, I don’t like ice with their masks. And this is not anti-law enforcement. It is anti-law enforcement. But Tim Walz and others like him are attempting to convince as many people as possible that ICE isn’t law enforcement. I mean, look, that’s quite a sleight of hand. Immigration and customs enforcement. Immigration laws are federal laws that need to be enforced. Who enforces them? ICE. So when you’re attacking ICE as a bunch of jackbooted thugs, Nazis and fascists who wear masks, who ought to be killed, and that’s what many people are saying, you’re attacking every man and woman in America who puts on a badge to start their day. You are anti-law enforcement, and I’ve got to believe it’s going to backfire. Polling is showing that Trump’s mass deportation is growing in popularity. Polling is showing that Trump’s approval is staying solid. Now, it’s admittedly a 50-50 country. But Trump’s support isn’t being eroded by this mass deportation. And support for the deportation is actually increasing. Now, people just seem like ICE is the boogeyman. I guess that’s because of the media narrative. I don’t know what else it could be. The masks? Look, everybody knows. I don’t think poor Etta knows why they’re wearing masks. Another nurse, a male nurse from Chicago, gets fired. after going on his TikTok or his YouTube or his Insta or his ex or whatever social media account he had, and suggested that as nurses in America, we ought to let ICE officers bleed out. He gets into this specific thing about the femoral artery. And he goes, you know what happens when that artery in the leg gets opened up? You can’t stop the bleeding. Hint, hint. He wants ICE officers killed. He’s a nurse. He wants MAGA nurses fired. And honest to gosh, if you’re stupid enough as a healthcare professional To not know what’s going to happen to you if you make a video advocating violence against law enforcement officers? I don’t know what to do for you. I mean, have you seen this guy? I think his name is Chad out of Chicago. And now he’s crying. It was like how it started, how it’s going. One of the videos, oh, the femoral artery can bleed out. Oh, MAGA nurses need to be fired. ICE needs to be stopped. I’m a nurse. I know my stuff. And now his last video is him weeping because he got fired and he’s in hiding and he’s worried about being, you know, identified. Well, why would you do something like that in the first place? It’s because these people are gripped by a rage that has been intensified by people like Jacob Fry and Tim Walz and Hakeem Jeffries and all the other Democrat leaders who have lost their minds. These Democrat leaders all have armed protection. It’s a dangerous country. It’s a scary world. I don’t want one hair on anybody’s head harmed, whether they’re a Democrat or a Republican. I’m glad they’ve got armed protection. But do you recognize the absurdity of denouncing law enforcement when you are protected by law enforcement? Most of us don’t have armed security. We don’t have the benefit of going around in the back of a limo surrounded by armed bodyguards. They do. while they’re calling the law enforcement officers of ICE Nazis and fascists and jackbooted thugs. And like Chris, I am sick of it. And I’ll tell you what, I hope your eyes are wide open. Because not only is the Democrat Party a party of violence, a party of murder and bloodshed, a party of anarchy and chaos, the Democrat Party is anti-law enforcement. And there’s no dispute. You can’t debate that. You can’t. The best you can do is what Tim Walz tried to do. And as goofy as he is, he even figured out, let’s pretend ICE isn’t law enforcement. And he has repeated the damnable lie that ICE is not law enforcement. And I think it’s because even a goofball like him, a buffoon like Tim Waltz, is savvy enough to realize, look, we can’t be on the backs of law enforcement. I know, let’s say ICE isn’t law enforcement. Let’s pretend that they’re not. 800-655-MIKE, 15 past the hour. Here’s a text message, incidentally, from Georgia, because this is the other story associated with the Savannah Guthrie mother abduction. There’s a lot, there’s already a bunch of speculation. Tucson, you know, Arizona is a border state. Who abducted her? That is so, I’m going to, you may disagree with me, that is so inappropriate. We don’t have any idea who abducted Mrs. Guthrie. let’s again let facts and investigations and a story conclude before we jump to any kind of speculation about something like that. Same thing happened with the shooting of Alex Preddy. We have no idea if that shooting was going to be deemed justifiable. We have no idea if those officers legitimately felt that they had to use lethal force. It was, in the parlance or vernacular of law enforcement, it was either a good shooting or a bad shooting. It was either justified or it wasn’t. If it wasn’t justified, there has to be accountability for those two Hispanic Border Patrol agents who pulled the trigger. But we don’t know yet. We can look at a video all day long. We don’t have access to any of the investigative tools that the officials and the authorities have. Let’s wait. Let’s take a breath. Same thing with the abduction, the apparent abduction of Savannah Guthrie’s mother. I happen to believe it’s very inappropriate and unprofessional even for any of us to sit around and opine that it was likely illegals who abducted her. We don’t know. We have a clue. I don’t think they have any idea. Saw something late last night. There’s some couple that was familiar with her that lived a few minutes from her. I don’t know their legal status or their immigration status. But can we please take a breath before we just run into these wild-eyed speculative theories? This text from Georgia. Mike, I probably like you and most of your audience need forgiveness for the hope that the abductors are illegals. I know it’s not right, but maybe it would open some eyes for people on the left. I understand your sentiment. You don’t want to hope for anything. You want to hope that Mrs. Guthrie gets returned safely. I don’t know what in the world. It seems like a very strange, bizarre story. Savannah Guthrie has spoken out. She’s asking for prayers. She’s asking for the country to lift up her family in prayer. The Today Show, of course, is hurting. And, you know, it’s a terrible story. It’s prominent because of the popularity and the fame of Savannah Guthrie. But it’s heartbreaking on every level. Poor woman needs medication. You suspect the worst, but you pray for the best. But don’t you think it’s too early to speculate about the identity of Mrs. Guthrie’s abductors? Look, let me be very clear. Number one, Leader Jeffries sounds like a clown right now as far as I’m concerned. What he’s saying is actually making no sense. The truth of the matter is that ISIS has been trying to do their job. And if it wasn’t for Democrat leaders who were fomenting an organized protest organization that was taking pictures of these officers, trying to dox these officers, trying to go after their families, all these things have occurred that they wouldn’t have to cover their faces to protect their identity and to protect their families. That’s one. Number two, and let’s also be very clear, I didn’t hear Hakeem Jeffries say a damn thing when there were young women in America who were being raped and murdered by criminal illegal aliens that Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and he led into the country with impunity. They said nothing, while House Republicans wanted something very simple, which was to secure the southern border once and for all. So if this is going to be the argument he wants to make, then I got a counterargument. Number one, we’re going to continue. with ICE doing their job under the Constitution. But number two, we’re going to protect the vote of every American. We’re not going to have situations like in California and other states where Democrats know that they have people voting in our elections with impunity just so Democrats can get some semblance of power in the United States of America.

And a new poll was just released by the firm Signal showing that Trump’s deportation agenda is getting more popular with the American people, despite, of course, the best efforts of the loony left and the complicit media doing its best to malign the effort. Check out this polling. 73% of Americans believe that coming here illegally is breaking the law. Now, of course, that makes me wonder about the 27% who are stupid enough to answer coming here illegally is not breaking the law. The very nature of doing something illegal is breaking the law. But, okay, I’ll take 73%. 61% support deporting illegal immigrants. 58% oppose defunding ICE. And 54% support ICE enforcing our immigration laws. So at the end of the day, let’s just acknowledge something. If you believe this polling data, and incidentally, this is not a poll that Jessica Tarloff is likely to share on The Five. It’s a true blessing to be surrounded by smart people with smart takes on the challenging issues that we face. I shared with you yesterday how I was listening to Tara over in the upstate of South Carolina and her smart assessment of what’s happening with ICE and what’s happening in the country, what the Democrats are doing. How the Democrats are desperately… Tara pointed out that as the Supreme Court later this year rules correctly on the diabolical way the Democrats have tried to use the Civil Rights Act to gerrymander congressional districts. If the Supreme Court gets it right, we’re going to pick up 40, 45 congressional districts. seats for the Republican Party. It’s game over for the Democrats in Congress. And this country will have Republican-controlled leadership. The adults will finally be in control and be able to get this country back. And so it’s that kind of analysis, and Tara is as sharp as a tack. I mean, these are great people. I mean, I’m just surrounded by… Tremendous warriors, folks like Tara and folks like Mark Davis in Dallas and Dan Proft in Chicago. And I shared yesterday the return of Amy Jacobson. She’s back on the air there in Chicago with Jeannie Ives. Joe Piscopo in New York City. And Chris Stegall, who is our network morning host. Chris went on a little bit of a rant this morning about the hypocrisy of the left as it applies to law enforcement. Right now, we’re all watching this awful story unfold in Tucson, Arizona, where Savannah Guthrie, who’s the longtime host of the Today Show, her mother, her 84-year-old mother, has been apparently abducted. And it’s a horrific story. It’s everybody’s worst nightmare. And it becomes very personal to everybody because everybody kind of knows or thinks they know Savannah Guthrie. And she is described as one of the sweetest, kindest, most gracious women. I don’t know her. I’ve never met her. I think she’s nicer probably than Katie Couric. But, you know, those morning show hosts, they’ve got to be sunny and, you know, bubbly and smart. Of course, her whole world has been upended, personally and professionally. She was scheduled to fly to the Winter Olympics this week, and of course that’s off. She’s in Tucson asking for America’s prayers. And we’re all hoping and praying that law enforcement in Tucson can help find this poor 84-year-old woman. So listen to what my friend and colleague Chris DeGaulle said this morning about the hypocrisy and how the same people who are now praising law enforcement and hoping and praying that their skills, their expertise can lead to the safe return of Nancy Guthrie. Those same people are the same ones who don’t mind trashing law enforcement regularly as they’re trying to enforce existing immigration laws and In America, here’s our colleague, Salem Network and Salem Media’s Chris Stegall.

I just started wandering around in my head about that question yesterday. And the reason I did is because I noticed that all of a sudden, all of the mainstream media was very, very, very interested in getting to the bottom of this and deeply supportive of law enforcement. Ed, did you notice how interested everyone is in law enforcement getting to the bottom of this and how helpful everyone is and how hopeful everyone is that law enforcement gets to the bottom of Ms. Guthrie being found? And then I started to consider the geography of where she lived and I started to think to myself, boy, the kids over at NBC News had better hope. That Ms. Guthrie is returned safe and sound, and if she is or isn’t, what they better hope next is none of this happened at the hands of an illegal alien or aliens. Because won’t that make for an interesting story, Ed, if true? What’s the likelihood that this was not your standard run-of-the-mill story? Burglary. I think it’s pretty high this was not your standard run-of-the-mill burglary.

Time will tell. Who knows what happened to this poor lady and that we continue to pray for her and for the family and for the community. It’s got to be terrifying to think that an 84-year-old woman can be abducted from her home in the middle of the night. Something awful apparently happened. But isn’t Chris right when he points out the hateful hypocrisy of people who don’t mind denigrating law enforcement if they are enforcing our immigration laws, but they sure go running to law enforcement when they need their protection, when they need them to solve a crime, when they need their help. Oh, please, please, please, let’s find Mrs. Guthrie. But hey, ICE, you law enforcement officers, you’re pigs, you’re Nazis, you’re thugs, you’re goons. And of course, this is egged on and encouraged by Democrat leaders. It is preposterous. My friend Mark Davis has a theory that this anti-law enforcement rhetoric is backfiring spectacularly. on the Democrat Party. The Democrats have staked out a position. They are anti-cop. They are anti-police. They are anti-law enforcement. This is George Floyd 2.0. It’s no different. All cops are bad because of what happened to George Floyd. All cops are animals. All cops are cowboys. We hate police. That’s the left. And now they’re doing it with ICE. Contrary to goofball Tim Waltz’s assertions, ICE is law enforcement. And I’m going to say it over and over and over again to counter the lie, to counter the attempt to change the narrative away from what law enforcement is. ICE is law enforcement. Period. And there’s nothing they can do to change this. And look, use the same tools that law enforcement uses across the board. There ought to be body cams. ICE officers ought to wear body cams. I’m shocked that they’re not. And that’s a problem. Fix the problem. Of course they ought to be wearing body cams. Every one of them. Just like every sheriff’s deputy and police officer. Because the fact of the matter is, body cams almost always vindicate law enforcement officers. Don’t take my word for it. Here’s President Trump.

Well, it wasn’t my decision. I would, you know, I leave it to her. They generally tend to be good for law enforcement because people can’t lie about what’s happening. So it’s generally speaking, I think 80 percent good for law enforcement. But if she wants to do that, I’m OK with it.

Because the administration expects that the FACE Act, where it is against the law to intimidate churchgoers for some political stunt, is being enforced. Oh, it’ll change everything. Well, I don’t know. I mean, that’s a great question. What if Border Patrol or Immigration and Customs Enforcement is involved in the potential apprehension and the recovery of Mrs. Guthrie? What are they going to say then, Greg? I don’t know. So I’ve got some real concern for these two Border Patrol agents that were involved in the Pretty shooting. And what no one is saying is that I think they have a strong defense. Under Minnesota law, you only need three people to be involved in a riot. And there were three people, two women and Pretty, were involved in that altercation. And I hear that there was no de-escalation implemented, and they used pepper spray to try to de-escalate the situation, and it didn’t work. Pretty broke several laws by being armed and without his identification. that’s part of the defense that I would use. I would also use the fact that the city and state government allowed these people to create a situation with all the noise and the whistles and the horns being hawked. That’s right. The Border Patrol agents could not hear the commands that were given. You know, maybe that officer that had the gun that was running in the other direction had said that he had the gun. No one could hear him because of all the noise. I would put up a strong defense, and I would say… that this was a riot because you only need three people under Minnesota law to be involved in a riot. And if someone is killed in that riot, it becomes a felony for the other people involved in the riots. Those two women should be charged with felonies.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, we’ll see. All of that is going to be subject to the investigation. And I think we’re all kind of just armchair quarterbacks, and we’re looking at videos. We don’t have access to a lot of the investigative tools that the authorities are going to have. And I just think we have to let the investigation be completed and let the chips fall where they may. These two Border Patrol agents, who incidentally happen to be Hispanic, There are a couple of Hispanic guys from the Rio Grande Valley. You know, that, of course, buries their narrative about the white supremacist fascists of ICE. But these two men are going to be entitled to a legal defense. They’ll get a robust legal defense. And if it’s determined that they were not justified in fatally shooting Alex Preddy, they’re going to be facing a rigorous prosecution. And it may come down to a jury making a decision or a determination. You know, there’s all kinds of questions, too, about what kind of legal immunity they may or may not have in their capacity. But whatever you think of the shooting death of Alex Preddy, there is no question. that it was exacerbated by the chaos, by the noisemaking, by the distractions, by the interruptions, by the disruptions, blowing the whistles and screaming with bullhorns.
