Join Mike Gallagher as he navigates the harrowing tale of Savannah Guthrie’s family’s current crisis, delving into police investigation updates and public reactions. This episode also dissects the Grammy Awards night, critiquing Billie Eilish’s pointed statements and Jelly Roll’s stirring acceptance speech, which have ignited widespread discussions on social media.
SPEAKER 01 :
Welcome to the Mike Gallagher Show Week in Review podcast. It’s Friday, February 6th. This week, singers Billie Eilish and Jelly Roll speak out at the Grammy Awards. The internet attacks Erica Kirk, and Florida moves to end in-state tuition for illegals. First, a terrible story out of Arizona. The mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie abducted from her home. A story out of Tucson. And the missing mother of Savannah Guthrie is so heartbreaking. And it’s tugging at a lot of people’s heartstrings. I mean, first of all, because people love Savannah Guthrie. I don’t know anything about her politics. In fact, I’ve seen some comments on social media. Oh, despite political differences, we’re all pulling for Savannah and her family. I don’t even know. Is she a lefty? I don’t know. I don’t care. She’s pleasant. She’s chipper. She’s, you know. She’s just what those morning shows, you know, present. And she was all set to head over to, where are the Olympics? I don’t even know. Oh, Italy, that’s right. Shows how much I know about the Olympics. Just brace yourself because I hate the Olympics. I hate everything about the Olympics. the globalism, all these other… I hate… I just… Sorry. You can’t make me like the Olympics. But anyway, NBC, of course, typically broadcasts the Olympic Games. She was all set to head over there to Italy and cover the Olympics. And, of course, now she’s in Arizona trying to… Well, trying to help find her mother. I saw a report last night that I think has been confirmed that the reward… for the information that leads to her mom’s safe return is $2,500. Let me repeat that. The reward to find if somebody has information leading to the safe return of Nancy Guthrie is $2,500. Um… Huh? Yesterday there was video of her front porch with blood showing, somebody from News Nation, I think, was the network, showing droplets of blood all over her front porch. And, you know, my friend Mark Davis this morning in Dallas says, isn’t that a crime scene? Well, apparently it was a crime scene, but now it’s not. They’ve apparently released the home of to the family, back to the family. And speaking of the family, evidently there are some murmurings that Savannah’s sister and brother-in-law, who were the last ones to see Mrs. Guthrie alive, might be considered persons of interest. Ashley Banfield, I think she’s an independent journalist. I think she was with News Nation. She used to be with, wasn’t she over on MSNBC? Anyway, she’s been around for a while, and here was her reporting last night on X.
SPEAKER 05 :
My law enforcement source told me that police have now towed and impounded the vehicle belonging to Nancy Guthrie’s daughter, Annie Guthrie. This is important because you’ve heard that the last point of contact with Nancy Guthrie was when she was dropped off by her daughter at 945-ish at night on Saturday night. So Annie Guthrie and possibly her husband as well, Tomaso Sione, were the last people to see her at 945 at night, Saturday night. Sunday morning, 11 a.m., church members reached out to the family. Hey, your mom wasn’t in church. Not normal. She’s always there. What’s up? Family member goes over, calls family member or members, goes to the house, calls 911, and the investigation begins. But they have towed Annie Guthrie’s car. And there is some connection to Annie Guthrie’s car and… Nancy Guthrie’s son-in-law, that would be Annie’s husband, Thomas Oceone, age 50, from Tucson, Arizona, married to Annie P. Guthrie, Savannah’s sister. And my law enforcement source tells me that Thomas Oceone is the prime suspect in this case. Again, law enforcement source tells me that Nancy Guthrie’s son-in-law, married to Annie Guthrie, Savannah’s sister, is maybe, maybe a prime suspect in this case. At the very least, let me tamp that down because sometimes it’s the first person you’re looking at, not prime as in there’s no one else. Okay, so let’s be really mindful of that. Families are always looked at first as well.
SPEAKER 01 :
Okay, I’m going to say something. Of course, I want to get your reaction to all of it, and I hope you join me. Flood My Phone Lines, 800-655-MIKE here in the Relief Factor Studios. You know me. I love a good, robust conversation with you. If you’re new to the show, a lot of shows interview lots of talking heads, politicians, authors. I love talking to callers. I love this conversation. This is what – I just feel so connected to people all over America. So I want you to flood my phone lines with your reaction to this story and to what I’m about to say. And I don’t mean to disparage Savannah Guthrie in any way, shape, or form. But yes, we confirmed that the official award – For information leading to the arrest of the person or persons involved in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance is $2,500. Now, I don’t know if Savannah Guthrie has a role, if she’s able to say, look, I’m worth, you know, probably $50 million. I’ll put up a million dollars to get my precious mom back. Now, maybe that’s not in the process. I don’t know. I don’t know how that works. But does it strike you as bizarre that the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, in partnership with 88 Crime, which I guess is like their Crime Stoppers in Arizona, is only offering $2,500? For information leading to Mrs. Guthrie’s return, it’s as if, and I’m going to say this and get your reaction to it, it’s as if they know this is not some stranger. The Grammy Awards Sunday night brought out the stars and the activism that goes along with it. Singer Billie Eilish just could not resist a dig at ice. Well, she got plenty of flack for it. Interesting thing about this Billie Eilish. I’ve been reading about her. She’s a very talented young woman, young girl. She and her brother, I think his name is Phineas. And they’re real successful. You know how successful? She stood up last night at the Grammy Awards and regurgitated that crap about how you can’t be illegal on stolen land. Do you know how much her home is worth? Do you know how much she’s spent on her mansion in Southern California? You guess. I want you to guess. I want you to guess how much this kid’s house is worth. And look, I don’t begrudge her having an expensive house. She’s a successful Grammy Award winning artist, right? Very talented. She writes, she sings, she performs, makes gazillions of dollars. I want to do a little Bob Barker in memoriam. Price is right. You text me, and don’t look it up. Don’t Google it. Guess. I want you to guess how much Billie Eilish’s mansion is worth. This young lady who stood up there last night and said, F-ice, F-ice, you can’t be illegal on stolen land. Guess how much her home is worth. The text line is open, 800-655-MIKE, 800-655-6453. I’ll come up with a prize to the person who guesses it, but don’t look it up. Don’t cheat. We’re going to rely on the honor system. So you’ve got to text me what you think Billie Eilish’s home is worth, and just promise me you won’t Google it. Or look it up on chat GPT. All right, a lot of guesses. $10 million guess from Dayton, Ohio. Florida, $30 million guess. Billie Eilish’s home. You ready for this? You ready? Illinois is closest. Illinois guessed $13 million. $14 million home. Billie Eilish, who stands up there and says you can’t be an illegal immigrant on stolen land, lives in a home in America, Southern California, valued at $14 million. Again, I don’t begrudge her. Make a lot of money. You’re a young kid. You want to live in a big fancy mansion. You want to have private jets. You want to have all the toys. Knock yourself out. How dare you spit all over the United States? And I’d like to use a different word than spit. It sounds like spit. How dare you? Attack the country that made you filthy rich. But that’s today’s lunatic left. They don’t think you’re paying attention. I guess she hopes when you hear her rave like a lunatic about being, you can’t be illegal on stolen land, I guess she hopes you think she lives in a double-wide. You know, she’s just a young girl with purple hair, singing her heart out, living in a little van down by the river. No, she lives in a $14 million mansion. You know why? Because it’s America. That’s what America can produce. That kind of success. No less controversial, but for different reasons, were the comments Country Star Jelly Roll offered to the crowd at the Grammys. I don’t care about the Grammy Awards. I didn’t watch the Grammy Awards. I don’t think I’d watch the Grammy Awards if you held me at gunpoint. But I did hear about Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll is a country music star. According to one report over at the Daily Express, country star Jelly Roll has been slammed for his Grammys speech. Jelly Roll won apparently multiple awards. 41-year-old singer had a pretty emotional speech that the left absolutely hated. Like somebody pointed out, it’s amazing that during this speech, most of the people in that audience didn’t burst into flames. Here is Jelly Roll’s acceptance speech last night at the Grammy Awards on CBS.
SPEAKER 02 :
I know they’re going to try to kick me off here, so just let me try to get this out. First of all, Jesus, I hear you, and I am listening, Lord. I am listening, Lord. Second of all, I want to thank my beautiful wife. I would have never changed my life without you. I’d have ended up dead or in jail. I’d have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus. I thank you for that. I thank you for my label, Broken Bow. Country Radio, baby! What’s up, y’all? Oh, Republic John Manila, we did it, baby! There was a time in my life, y’all, that I was broken. That’s why I wrote this album. I didn’t think I had a chance, y’all. There was days that I thought the darkest things. I was a horrible human. There was a moment in my life that all I had was a Bible this big and a radio the same size and a six-by-eight-foot cell, and I believed that those two things could change my life. I believed that music had the power to change my life, and God had the power to change my life. And I want to tell y’all right now, Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by one political.
SPEAKER 01 :
Now, I mean this from the heart. If you’re critical of that speech, there’s something wrong with you. If you object to what that singer said last night at the Grammy Awards, You’re in a dark, miserable, lonely, sad place. The Daily Express writes, many thought his speech was MAGA-coded. That’s the new thing now. You’re MAGA-coded. That means you don’t really come out and admit you’re MAGA. You’re MAGA-coded. C-O-D-E-D. Not coated, but coded. Many thought the speech was MAGA-coded. One person on X wrote, of course Jelly Roll wouldn’t get up on stage and denounce Ice like several of his peers did unapologetically. He got on stage, did a fake sermon. And yes, he absolutely is MAGA. F him. And that MAGA festival he’s doing. Another added, jelly roll talking about God and Jesus while being part of a MAGA music festival. Fake-ass Christian MF-er. I mean, they’re like demons. The socialist mayor of New York had to deal with his first crisis, major snowstorm, dumping nearly a foot of snow into the city. Thanks to his policy on the homeless, well, now people are literally freezing to death on the streets of New York. What did WABC-TV in New York City say? As temperatures plummeted last weekend, perilous cold conditions led local officials to warn New Yorkers of the dangers of prolonged exposure to severe winter weather. This week, ABC7 reports, 13 people were found dead on the streets of New York City. 13 people. Now, Michael Goodwin over at the New York Post writes, with homeless New Yorkers freezing to death on the streets after Mayor Zoran Mamdani foolishly told police and social workers not to break up homeless encampments and move them to shelters, a friend offers an idea that is consistent with the mayor’s obligations and his dedication to socialism. Unbelievable that these homeless deaths have occurred apparently as a direct result of the new mayor’s policy. Michael Goodwin says every mayor in the last 40 years has required… Wisely that the city adopt some version of Ed Koch’s policies that the city is required for people to take shelter or we should move them indoors when they refuse. Or we’re incapable of making the decision for themselves. As one of those mayors, Rudy Giuliani, wrote on X, the policy of New York City before, during, and after I was mayor was to remove homeless people from the streets when it approached freezing. The incumbent mayor, Zoran Mamdani, has changed that policy. Apparently it’s true that this mayor… believed it was wrong to get homeless people off the streets and get them into shelters. I found a story from thecity.nyc back in early December. Mamdani vows to sweep out crackdowns on homeless encampments. Mayor-elect Zoran Mamdani said Thursday, this is the first part of December, he will not continue sweeps of homeless encampments. asked at an unrelated news conference if he would encourage the crackdowns on homeless encampments, which were being enforced during Mayor Eric Adams’ tenure, asked if he would encourage that practice. He said no. So instead of getting homeless people off the streets and into warm shelters and Thirteen homeless New Yorkers have perished, froze to death in New York City. How are you feeling now about that collective warmth, that warmth of collectivism that Zoran Mamdani was so proud of preaching? Man, oh man. Portions of our show brought to you by MyPillow. SPEAKER 04 :
I’m doing all right. To keep this conversation going about the Florida tuition change impacting undocumented students the most, I want to sort of draw a difference between your undocumented student in Florida who presumably has an address or else they wouldn’t be in Florida. They’re paying local utilities in Florida. They’re contributing to the local economy. They were paying that $2,800 fee as an in-state student. Put them up against your hypothetical student in Ohio, who is not as heavily impacted because they can go and apply for federal student aid, which allows them to cover the difference between the 2800 and the new $8,000 that is the out of state rate. So my question would be, which is overall the better scenario, a cash payment from an undocumented student in Florida or a continuation of the federal student loan crisis through an out-of-state student in Ohio.
SPEAKER 01 :
It’s a really interesting, intriguing way you position it. What you’ve lost and what you’re kind of muddying the waters with is normal people cannot understand why an out-of-state student is expected to pay out-of-state tuition, but an illegal immigrant gets to pay Florida tuition rates. In other words, to equate the two, you take the hypothetical kid from Ohio. Sure, he can apply for federal aid. He may or may not get it. I’m getting a bunch of text messages saying my kid scraped, struggled, and we had to do everything we can to send our kid to this particular college, USF, in Florida. And that was with in-state tuition. Couldn’t afford out-of-state tuition if my life depended on it. Stephen, you’re actually going to argue that an illegal immigrant should be the recipient of in-state tuition, but an out-of-state American citizen should not. Is that your position? No, that’s not what I’m arguing.
SPEAKER 04 :
Okay. Your difficulty was with the headline, which state.
SPEAKER 01 :
No, no, my difficulty is with the story. It’s not the headline. The fact is, illegal immigrants shouldn’t get in-state tuition benefits. That’s not a headline. What’s that? That’s not what the headline… That’s not what the article says. The story… What are you talking about? The article says that… Are you trolling me?
SPEAKER 04 :
That they are more heavily impacted. It doesn’t say they should or they shouldn’t. It says they’re more heavily impacted because they can’t apply.
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, they shouldn’t be able to apply for federal aid. They shouldn’t be able to get in-state tuition benefits. They’re illegal immigrants. What is it about that you don’t understand? Of course, I did notice that when you called, you won’t even use that term. Does that trigger you, Stephen, illegal immigrant? Does that term trigger you? No, not in the least. Because you said undocumented. Why didn’t you say illegal?
SPEAKER 04 :
Because that’s the terminology that the article uses.
SPEAKER 01 :
That’s the terminology you used. Read the couple headlines out of the article. I read every word of the article, and you’re arguing on behalf of illegals. Do you want illegals to get in-state tuition benefits, yes or no?
SPEAKER 04 :
I want the federal student loan crisis not to get worse.
SPEAKER 01 :
Gotcha. Do you want illegals to get it? That’s not what I asked you. That’s not what I asked you. Nice deflection. Do you want illegal immigrants to get in-state tuition benefits?
SPEAKER 04 :
If they live in the state that they are asking for tuition benefits from, then they are in-state residents.
SPEAKER 01 :
Thank you for your answer. That’s all I needed to hear, because that’s where you’re coming from, and we get you loud and clear. I didn’t like the way that call went, so we invited Steve from Connecticut back for a do-over. Steven, you’re a good sport to come back on the show. I know you’re busy today. You had a lot of calls, Tracy said, but you took time away from your job to come back on the show to hopefully accept my apology for jumping on you a little bit too hard when you were making your points because you were not jumping on me the way I jumped on you, and I’m really sorry.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. First off, Mike, thanks for having me back on the show. I think it is important to take time out of one’s day for an occasion like this, because you obviously have a national, if not an international platform, and you and I come from two sides of a lot of different issues. But I think it’s important to showcase the very responsible move on your part to acknowledge that The discourse could have been a bit more civil, but I certainly accept your apology and welcome future interactions with you on your show and elsewhere.
SPEAKER 01 :
Thank you very much. I appreciate your response to that because it just bothered me. And look, this has always plagued me. I mean, I get passionate, I get emotional, and I know I just interrupt too much, and I’m trying to do better at it. So you’re a good test case because… Frankly, the reason people perceive me interrupting people is that the caller’s doing plenty of interrupting on their part, too. And people never seem to notice that. But you didn’t do that. And I wanted you to know that, that I was bothered by the way I reacted to you. So thanks for accepting my apology. Hope the audience does as well. But I do want to continue for just a couple of minutes while I’ve got you. Because this is such an important issue, and we’re in the middle of Minnesota today. Tom Holman, as we reported, held a press conference saying that there’s a – look, like it or not, the mass deportation is going to continue. I guess you’re of the mindset, kind of the Lindsey Graham, Newt Gingrich mindset perhaps, that, look, we’ve got to figure out what to do with the millions of illegals who are here. We just can’t round everybody up and send them back to their native country. Is that fair? Would you kind of consider your position to be sort of in that vein?
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, I don’t know that I would find myself aligned with Lindsey Graham or Newt Gingrich.
SPEAKER 01 :
I knew I’d get you. But that’s what they’re saying. And look, they’re getting a lot of flack from my side because people are like, come on, Newt. You know, but they are. They’re saying, look, we’ve got to think of a way, a better way to handle illegals who are here who haven’t broken any other laws. They’re paying their taxes if they’re, you know, whatever. And we just can’t kick them out of the country.
SPEAKER 04 :
I think there’s, There’s a tremendous amount of wisdom in looking at America’s role on the world stage over the course of the last 20th century, which, in my opinion, has been to try and minimize humanitarian crises everywhere. And I think by rounding up and deporting those in our country who are not causing a problem, who are in this case, we’re talking about people who are actively seeking higher education. Right. And willing to pay full freight to that education to the degree they can afford it. And they’re they’re obviously trying to better themselves. And we hope that if they’re able to do that, they stay in our communities and work to better our communities. I think the other side of this, again, looking at at this issue through the lens of the article we were discussing yesterday, is when you’re talking about undocumented students. Certainly there are exceptions of folks that are later on in life going back to get a higher education, but you’re probably talking about DACA folks in a disproportionate sense. Children who came here through no action or fault of their own, who were brought here by their parents or their guardians, and if they’re undocumented students, of course they were brought here without following the appropriate legal channels. So I think taking action on those folks again, who haven’t even truly committed the crime of immigrating illegally, seems at odds with our position on the world stage. Right.
SPEAKER 01 :
I get that. And the disconnect is that a lot of normal Americans, I think, sit back and they’re watching this and they’re saying there’s no way that an illegal immigrant, whether it’s a product of DACA or a kid that was brought over here, the child is here illegally. The child is here illegally, a college student. And to somebody in Connecticut who wants to send their kid to school in Florida, the Connecticut parent has to pay out-of-state tuition rates. The Floridian parent, who’s an illegal, gets to pay in-state tuition rates. And I think the disconnect you and I have, and the reason there’s a disagreement, is that Americans don’t want illegal immigrants to get an advantage over an American citizen. The midterm elections are nearly upon us, but hey, take heart. The GOP is way ahead in the bank and on the ground. reported over the weekend by the Associated Press that the Republican National Committee has vastly outpaced Democrats in the crush for cash ahead of the midterms. And this is encouraging. Democrats continue to struggle in the Trump era, in the words of AP. The Republicans hold a nearly $100 million advantage at the close of 2025. And a quick note about this race, this special election held in North Texas. Because it’s, look, I’m not trying to ignore some of these problematic, sort of insignificant special elections. And I say insignificant in the scheme of things. What’s going to matter is November. November is everything. And either Americans get it or we don’t. But it is a fact that Democrats have flipped eight state legislative seats in special elections during the 2025 cycle. This was Senate District No. 9 in Texas. In Mississippi, both Senate District 2 and 9. District 45 were flipped from Republican to Democrat. Iowa, Senate District 1 and 35 both flipped from Republican to Democrat. Pennsylvania, Senate District 36, Republican to Democrat. Georgia, House District 121, flipped from Republican to Democrat. And one more in Mississippi, House District 22, Republican to Democrat. I saw an explanation for all of this by somebody named Reverend Jordan Wells on social media. I wanted to share that with you. Here’s what he writes. Democrats are cheering like they just won the White House over a single state Senate flip in North Texas. Give me a break, he writes. Here’s the reality check. He says, I’m so over Democrats popping champagne every time they snag one state legislative seat and acting like the entire GOP is collapsing. Blue wave incoming, they scream. Trump is doomed. It’s over. Meanwhile, when Republicans hold a seat, retain a district, or win outright, crickets, absolute silence from the left and their media cheerleaders. That Texas flip that everybody was screaming about over the weekend? It was a state Senate race, not Congress, not governor, not some massive national bellwether. Yes, it stings in a red-leaning area like Tarrant County. But let’s keep perspective. Specials are low-turnout circus shows where the out-of-party power always goes all in. Democrats are hyper-motivated right now because they lost everything in 2024. They’re treating every off-year race like Armageddon. Reverend Wells goes on to say, Republicans? Well, look, most normal people are tired of nonstop elections. We’re busy raising families, paying bills, working jobs, trying to live our lives after years of chaos. We’re not doom-scrolling every obscure state Senate race. We’re focused on results from the big wins we already secured. Border security, economy stabilizing, kids protected from radical nonsense. He says the midterms will be completely different. Higher turnout, real stakes, the full electorate shows up. Not just the most enraged activists. That’s when the sleeping giant wakes up. History proves it. The party in power often gets tested early, then crushes when it really matters. So yes, stay vigilant, get involved, but stop letting the left’s fake victory laps rattle you. They’re screaming to convince themselves they’re relevant. We know better. We won 2024 big for a reason. The real fight is coming in November. And we’ll be ready. Is he right? Let me just ask you. Do you think he’s right that the sleeping giant will wake up in November? I’m curious. For those of us on this show, it’s still hard to believe that Charlie Kirk is really gone. Nearly as shocking is the way some trolls on the Internet continue to attack his widow, Erica. I’m telling you, basic decency is just out the window. Check out this text. I’m sorry, Mike. I was Team Erica for a long time. But the more and more facts that come out, I mean, she has a lot of explaining to do. And no one actually knows what his wishes were. That’s just something we were told. Can you imagine somebody in Columbus, Ohio, thinking that a young, grieving woman was who suffered the unimaginable loss of her husband, with whom she was planning to spend the rest of her life with, has people like this who believe that she owes this person an explanation. An explanation for what? What, you think Erica Kirk was involved in her husband’s murder? Are you completely out of your mind? And attacking this young woman? I wrote this person back. What fact? Oh, well, she dated when she said she didn’t date. She was on a reality TV show. What? So she has to explain to you? What her dating habits were before she met and married Charlie? And of course, I know what’s happening. There’s some prominent people with big platforms who’ve decided to turn this whole thing into a cottage industry. And it’s just, it’s sickening. And I hope that nobody who is so gullible or so mean ever has to experience that. That kind of pain, where strangers think that you are complicit in your loved one’s tragic, awful, criminal death. As if she didn’t go through enough, now she’s got people in America who want to point a finger at her. What are you trying to hide, Erica? Well, did he really want you to run Turning Point? Or did you just have him murdered so you could run Turning Point? Uh-huh, yeah, yeah. And you dated back when you were… It’s so tragic to see what people are capable of becoming. And a lot of it is just they don’t even see people, personalities that they follow as human beings. Erica’s not a real person to this goofball. Erica is this just figure, this character in a play, this actress. who’s just part of a movie that they’re watching. Ooh, was there a trap door under Charlie? Did Tyler Robinson have help? Did Erica help Tyler Robinson? This is somebody’s husband. This is somebody’s father. This is somebody’s son that we witnessed brutally murdered in front of thousands of people. And that’s the path you’re going to go down? You’re getting your jollies? Mocking Erica? That’s a diabolical thing. That’s a darkness that no one should get near. If you’re capable of that kind of darkness, first of all, you need real serious help. And you need to look in the mirror and say, am I talking about a real living, breathing person? A young woman who lost her husband in the most brutal way imaginable? Or am I just kind of play acting with podcasters and people who just want to get clicks and engagements and people who want to get attention for themselves and come up with cruel, awful, vicious things to say? And that wraps up the Mike Gallagher Show Week in Review podcast for Friday, February 6th, 2026. Be sure to subscribe to all the podcasts.
