We can kind of go down a rabbit hole and do what Fox News is doing and just spend hours and hours mindlessly speculating about stuff that has no resolution. It’s a heartbreaking story out of Tucson, but like I told you yesterday, I’ll tell you what, I’ll update you on Nancy Guthrie when there’s an update. I watched Fox News last night for about 45 minutes. I thought I was having a stroke. For 45 minutes, it was just endless speculation, conjecture, supposition, guests being brought in and out. And all I can figure… from Fox News Channel’s perspective. And maybe the other networks, too. I don’t know. I watch Fox and Newsmax and, you know, One American News. I watch a lot of conservative television. But admittedly, most of my viewing is spent on Fox, and they’ve just become obsessed with this Nancy Guthrie story. And all I can figure, after having worked for them for years… I kind of know how the TV business works. They study numbers, just like everybody’s studying the Super Bowl ratings right now. And, oh, yeah, I can happily confirm that the Bad Bunny halftime show plummeted in ratings. Now, it’s still a lot of people watching, but those people that left at halftime went somewhere. I think we all know where they went. But TV people obsess about ratings. All I can figure is the Nancy Guthrie story rates well. Now, that’s a temptation for us because it’s not a mystery that all of us want ratings. We all want people to watch us or listen to us. But for me, I was getting more criticism and flack over covering the Nancy Guthrie story when there was nothing new to say. It’s awful. Something happened to her. Who knows what happened to her. Now people are saying it doesn’t even look like it was a kidnapping. I don’t know what that means. Something went wrong. But in any event, there’s nothing to report. There are no updates. There are aspects to the story, but there’s nothing new to report. So Don’t worry, we’re not going to do what Fox News and others appear to be doing on the way we talk about that unfortunate story out of Tucson, Arizona. But here’s a story that a lot of people in the mainstream media will avoid. Have you heard the news about newly released FBI documents revealing that President Trump was one of the first people to call the police in 2006 and report Jeffrey Epstein? We already know that Trump kicked Epstein out of his club, Mar-a-Lago. We already know that he finds the financier disgusting. But now there’s a brand new document that was revealed last night that I think you’re going to find a little interesting. A Palm Beach, Florida police chief who was investigating Jeffrey Epstein told the FBI he got a call from Trump more than 20 years ago saying, thank goodness you’re stopping him. Everyone knows he’s doing this. He’s got to be stopped. Ghislaine Maxwell is evil. Trump, we know, threw Epstein out of his club. Then he called the police department. July of 2006. Now, do you know what that does to the narrative that somehow Trump was in cahoots with Epstein? It blows that whole narrative up. Gone. Gone. They’re going to move on because now they, watch how quickly now the Democrats want to bail on finding out who’s in the Epstein files. This thing, I mean, I’ve really struggled with this because it’s my job to talk about things that you want talked about. That’s my responsibility. But I’m telling you something. I don’t know that there’s any there there. Everybody understands what a horrible, evil, rotten, degenerate Jeffrey Epstein was. A pedophile. I keep seeing people say, but there is no evidence that he was running any kind of a sex trafficking ring on behalf of rich and prominent and famous people. We like to think that might be the case because it’s titillating. It’s intriguing. But so far, evidently, there’s not a whole lot of evidence that supports that. Even my pal Joey Hudson, oh, there’s got to be something in there. There’s something in there. Release them all. Release them all. And when you release them all, which is I think President Trump’s concern, there are people who are going to be smeared, just like Howard Lutnick is being smeared right now, Through the guilt by association crowd. Make no mistake, everybody knew this guy. All the rich and the powerful hung out with this guy. Republicans, Democrats, media people. Katie Couric is off having dinner with him at a big party after it was revealed who he is. So there’s a lot of people who were in his orbit. What the mob wants to do, it seems to me, now if my take on this is wrong, I urge you to call me. What the mob wants to do is say, look at that name. Look, he’s in the files. He’s a pedophile. People want to go immediately to the worst possible conclusion over anybody who is associated with Jeffrey Epstein in any way, shape, or form. And principal among them is Donald Trump. The Trump haters love to keep telling us what a pedophile Trump is. I mean, for the longest time I was like, why do they keep calling Trump a pedophile? Oh, because he supposedly was in cahoots with Jeffrey Epstein. That’s it, huh? Well, check this out. President Trump, it was revealed late last night, personally called the police chief of Palm Beach, Florida, way back in 2006. It turns out that this narrative that Trump is hanging out and palling around and doing horrible things is wrong. The Epstein Files, in case you haven’t heard, just dropped another article. Back in 2006, Trump was one of the very first people to pick up the phone and call the police to report Jeffrey Epstein’s child trafficking operation. He called Ghislaine Maxwell Epstein’s evil enforcer. So this whole narrative, the morons who spent nine years screaming Trump is Epstein’s best friend, Understand something. I just saw somebody on social media broke it down this way. Trump has never been accused by a single victim, not one, zero deposition, zero testimony, zero flight logs to the island, zero criminal referrals. All they have is Epstein desperately trying to reach Trump years after he cut the creep off forever. But I appreciate your perspective as a proud Puerto Rican. Bill Malujan over at Fox reported last night how a federal judge in California, of all places, sides with the Trump administration and ICE in allowing them to continue to wear masks if they so choose. Here was Bill’s reporting last night.

And, Brett, within just the last hour or so, we’ve learned that a federal judge based in Los Angeles has just blocked the state of California from enforcing its new law, which sought to ban ICE agents from wearing masks in the state. The judge, who is a Clinton appointee, argued that that new law violates the supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution, and it singles out federal agents, which ultimately discriminates against them.

And they’re the only nonstop between Tampa and Greenville, South Carolina. It’s about an hour and ten minute flight. Nice plane. Nice people. Nice airlines. And, you know… It was an easy trip from Tampa Bay to the upstate of South Carolina, which is where we are happily ensconced now. We’re in the studios of 98.9 WORD, the voice of the Carolinas. It’s like coming home for me. I love this place. I love this community. I always feel like I’m coming home. When the plane lands, I see those beautiful people. those foothills off in the distance, those beautiful mountains and those hills. I just love the trees, the people, everything. And I’m going to get to hang out with Joey and Peg Hudson and catch up with some of our great advertisers here at WORD. So why am I in a bad mood? Well, I’m in a bad mood because of the Senate Majority Leader, John Thune. Just a couple of moments ago, he completely destroyed my good mood, and now I’m angry. It shouldn’t take a rocket scientist to recognize how important it is that in America our elections are above board. The ridiculous excuses that Democrats use to hide behind voter fraud aren’t working anymore. People have had it. People are smart enough to know that if you’ve got to have a photo ID to pick up a Sudafed at the local, you know, CVS, you should be able to present identification to confirm that you are who you say you are to cast a ballot. We’ve got the crucial midterm elections months away. And these clowns in Republican Party leadership are going to sabotage any chance we have of winning in November. And the more I talk about it, the more I think about it, the angrier I get. This guy took over in January of 2025 from South Dakota. John Thune, the Senate Majority Leader. Here’s what he said moments ago about getting the SAVE Act passed. Here’s what he said just moments ago about… having to implement a standing filibuster in order to pass voter ID and citizenship requirements for elections.

Well, you know, I guess I would just remind people that the coin in the realm in the Senate is floor time. There’s a finite amount of it, and we have a lot of things we have to do. There’s a housing bill that’s awaiting action, hopefully a market structure bill, possibly permitting reform, a farm bill. Highway bill, you can go right down the list. Russia sanctions, there are a whole bunch of things that could be teed up for action on the floor of the Senate. And so you have to make some judgments, and the conference will have a conversation about that. I’ve committed to that, that we will talk about that idea and determine whether or not they’re what the… conference’s views are about it and how they want to proceed. As I said, we will vote on the SAVE Act, but exercising or triggering a talking filibuster has ramifications, implications that I think everybody needs to be aware of. So we will have those discussions, but that obviously ties the floor up for an indefinite amount of time with not only unlimited debate, but also unlimited amendments.

All right, rather we had the Senate Majority Leader and the Speaker of the House speaking. We just tapped into that Fox News feed from a couple of minutes ago. You know what he’s telling you. Republican leadership doesn’t want to pass the SAVE Act. John Thune doesn’t want to pass the SAVE Act. They don’t want citizenship requirements. They don’t want voter ID. They aren’t willing to nuke the filibuster. No, they want, I guess they want this country to be plunged into darkness and turmoil and hand the Senate and the House over to the Democrats in November of this year. Permitting reform? Boy, we’ve got to take a lot of time, says this really charismatic, smart, committed Senate Majority Leader, John Thune. You know, we’ve got to deal with permitting reform. It’s going to take a lot of time to deal with permitting reform. So we may not have time to implement a standing filibuster so that we can get voter ID passed. We’re just going to run out of time. These Republicans, these spineless, feckless Republicans, are a lot worse than the most progressive lunatic of the Democrat Party. At least we know where the leftist loons stand. We get them. We understand them. But Republicans who are trying to sabotage this country? No. Unforgivable. Unforgivable. I’m sitting there listening to that clip. Well, you know, we’ve got permitting reform. Did you hear the things he said are going to be more important than election integrity? Look, I don’t know about you, to me, nothing’s more important than getting our election process right. We witnessed what could happen to an election when COVID laws and pandemic rules threw everything into turmoil. All the stupid, crazy drive-thru balloting in the middle of the night and the ballot harvesting and all the garbage that COVID produced in 2020.
