SPEAKER 07 :
I’m getting into a habit on Mondays. We’re kind of going through the headlines and catching you up. Just a random sampling of headlines from this weekend. I guess this is the final weekend of the month, right? Final weekend of March, technically? Let me look at the calendar. I guess not. I mean, I guess it technically is, really. This is Monday the 24th. So not really. I mean, we still have next weekend, 28th, 29th, and 30th. So it’s almost the last weekend of the month. But the year is flying by. Let’s just peruse some headlines. Snow White bombs at the box office. It’s a woke version of the Disney classic that all got started because a little person actor named Peter Dinklage freaked out at the prospect of actual little people playing the roles of Snow White’s seven dwarfs. So thanks, Mr. Dinklage, you put seven actors out of work. Disney said, well, let’s not mess with this. So they just animated them. So they’re CGI. Okay, great. The woke mind virus is the thing to behold. Trump made a visit to the NCAA men’s wrestling championships, got a hero’s welcome. Did you see that? Pretty astounding. Meanwhile, he has revoked the security clearance for Biden and his entire family, Kamala, Hillary, and other political rivals. Columbia University caves. They yield to the Trump administration demands and will now deal forcefully with school anti-Semitism because they risk losing hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding. And more acts of violence, random acts of vandalism. So far, nobody has been seriously injured or killed. I worry and pray that doesn’t happen, but I’m afraid it will. And I want to find out what you think of an email I got from an organization that brings people on the left and people on the right together. I’ve been thinking a lot about a Charlie Kirk clip that I saw. Charlie Kirk, who continues to be a treasure, a national treasure, founder of Turning Point USA. This young man is astounding. He’s fearless. He’s bold. And he takes his roadshow and he goes on to college campuses and he debates college kids one-on-one. And you’ve probably seen these clips. They’re everywhere. They pop up everywhere. They go viral, hence the success of Charlie and spreading the word about what Turning Point does. I want you to hear this exchange that Charlie had with a father and son. Now, you’ve got to picture this. If you’re not watching now on Salem News Channel, I’ll describe it. The dad looks kind of hip. He’s got like a goatee and, you know, A little cap on. The son, the college student, looks kind of goth. Got like long, dark black hair, oversized sunglasses, and neck tattoos. A whole bunch of tattoos. If you looked at them, you’d think, well, the dad’s the conservative and the son is the lefty. But that isn’t the case at all. And this exchange, I reposted it on my ex-account, got me thinking about where we are right now as a country. Is it even possible to unite with people? And I would maintain it is. I know many of you will disagree with me. Some of you are going to get mad at me. That’s all right. I can take it. Check out this exchange between Charlie Kirk and a father and son on a college campus.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, guys, my name is Joey. I brought my father with me. He’s a very liberal father.
SPEAKER 09 :
Our family’s divided. We’re divided the same way the nation is divided. I’m conservative, by the way. Will anything ever be remedied? A nation divided against itself will not stand, neither will a family divided against itself. Why do you think your son is conservative? I have no clue. I’ll let him answer that question.
SPEAKER 10 :
That’s a bad answer.
SPEAKER 09 :
Hold on a second. You as a father should listen to your son. I listen to him all the time. Hold on, but then you just said you don’t know. I don’t know where he went so bad. I mean, come on. It’s like, I don’t know where he went wrong. I don’t know how he went off the rails. Would the smarter of the two like to chime in here?
SPEAKER 05 :
Absolutely. So I used to be at one point on my father’s side. Upon doing my own research and seeing things firsthand. I’ve I’ve switched sides. We talk every day about politics to where to the point where it’s divided us. And so for him to say that he does not know where I stand is.
SPEAKER 10 :
So let me ask you, do you think that maybe he wants to believe government will do good? Maybe that’s of course that now maybe your son is going more conservative because he thinks government hasn’t done a lot of good. Is that maybe a fair charitable interpretation? That makes relative sense. Okay, so now we’re getting somewhere. Here’s what I’ll just say in closing, guys. Never let politics get in the way of the beautiful relationship between father and son. My advice first is for the son to the father, understand he comes from a different generational perspective. He thinks government is probably a good force. Now, your son, understandably, is seeing it harder than ever to own a home. He’s seen a border wide open. He’s seen lies from politicians. He’s seen the enrichment of the ruling class. And instead of interrupting and want to get in an edge smartly, be like, huh, maybe my son is processing a way that I might not agree with, but he’s growing up in a different circumstance than I ever would.
SPEAKER 07 :
Gosh, how do you not love that? I’m sorry. If you don’t like that, you ought to rethink where you are. I get this email invitation, like I said, over the weekend. My name is blah, blah, blah. I’m the director of communications for the largest grassroots organization bringing together conservatives and liberals to share their uncensored opinions and hear from people who think differently. For the next few months, we’re focused specifically on how people at the grassroots level feel about President Trump’s administration. We’re predominantly doing this through debates such as, quote, resolved, Trump is making America great, unquote, online, in person. Would you be interested in having one of our leaders on the Mike Gallagher show to discuss this initiative and why conversations across divides are so important? You know what I’m worried about and the reason I think we’re going to book somebody from this organization on my show? I’m worried that we’re going to cease having conversations across political and sociological divides. And if we get there, we’re in big trouble. As a nation, we’re in big trouble. I actually like debate. I had a guy on last week. I think it was Friday. He’s a troll. The guy’s like a prank caller. But I don’t doubt that he’s a progressive. And he was kind of angry. I got kind of angry. He texted me, and he was a typical kind of a jerk, trashing our sponsors, and he was attacking my pillow and all that. And it’s like he’s not really arguing with me in good faith. But I got to thinking about the exchange I had with him, and I thought, you know what? If I tamp things down, if I’m not angry at a caller who wants to challenge what Trump is doing and what Republicans are doing, maybe we’ll make more progress as a nation. Maybe I can be part of the solution rather than just pointing out the idiocy of many on the left. Maybe we all ought to take a breath and look at, look, here’s the question that I struggle with. Is all this anger from people on the left real or inauthentic? Is it organic? Are they really mad that government could be more efficient? Are they really flipping out over border security? Do they really not want Trendy Aragua deported? I mean, I really want to know. But if I’m angry and they’re angry, we risk not having a dialogue. And I think having discussions across the political divide matters. are part and parcel of what makes this country great. It’s what I do for a living. And I think I need to get better at it. I believe I have to have less anger, less of an inclination to interrupt or try to win the battle or try to shut down a caller who is really genuinely upset and afraid and angry about what’s going on in the country. So I just made a commitment over the weekend. I made a lot of commitments in my life. I did a lot of soul-searching over some things. And I want to make that commitment to you, that I’m going to try to do better. But I want to find out if you think it’s worth it. I want to know if you think that having discussions and debate and conversations across the political divide… is even achievable right now. Are there people we can try to persuade? What does that look like? Let’s dive in together here on the Mike Gallagher Show in the Relief Factor Studios, 800-655-MIKE, 16 past the hour. Give me your thoughts on whether or not you think… Getting to a place where we can start having civil dialogue with one another is still achievable. Or has the ship sailed? They’re too far gone. Why bother? You don’t care. Let’s own the libs. They could try to own MAGA. Let’s go at each other’s throats. Where do you want to be? Am I being too Pollyanna? Do you see where I’m coming from? Or do you think I’m all wet? And I absolutely am prepared that some of you will think it’s a bad idea. Let’s dive in. 800-655-MIKE. One call does it all. You can call or text. 800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453. Happy Monday. I hope you join us here on the Mike Gallagher Show. Ph.D. weight loss has changed my life, and I’ve got a little secret for you. SPEAKER 06 :
He’s the happy conservative warrior. From the Relief Factor studios, here’s Mike Deller.
SPEAKER 07 :
Wow, what a weekend. President Trump visits the NCAA National Championship in Philly, gets a huge ovation. Some more random acts of violence against Tesla owners. A lot of rage still, but it seems to me, I could be wrong, maybe it’s starting to peter out a little bit. I’m seeing some things being posted on social media that say things like, are we really angry at a pro-energy company? Are we really that mad? Is this anger real or not? And I don’t know the answer to that. I really wish I knew the answer. I wish I could get my brain around it. A lot of rage. A lot of people screaming. A lot of anger. Here’s a leftist post that was on X that caught my eye. She said, all right, I know this is dramatic, but I’m really upset about all the Teslas being torched and vandalized nationwide. This is the worst look for the left. Violent, angry, destructive. And all of this directed at a clean energy company. She wrote, I’m so pointed. You know, the truth is the Democrats have kind of, they have an identity crisis right now. What are the Democrats? Are they sort of the angry pack of violent, destructive vandals who are laughing and joking about hurting Elon Musk and his company? Are they progressives who believe in open borders? Are truly concerned about government efficiency? I don’t know. I know that Bill Maher is sort of a truth teller. Look, I think he’s an atheist or he’s certainly agnostic. My problem with Bill Maher is how He doesn’t understand or respect people’s faith. He’s anti-religion. In fact, I think he made a documentary once called, was it Religiosity, I think? Pretty sure that was the name of it. But look, he is a traditional, I think the way to describe him is a kind of traditional, old school, maybe even blue dog Democrat. He got invited to the White House and he said he’s going. And the left is losing its mind. They can’t believe Bill Maher has accepted an invitation to sit down with Donald Trump in the White House. But here’s what he said on his show this past weekend about the Democrats melting down and the identity crisis that the Democrats face themselves with right now.
SPEAKER 03 :
I just saw this really bad news for Democrats. 2030 reapportionment. There’s a group called the American Redistricting Project. And in five years, we will be redistricting. California is projected to lose three seats. New York, two. Also going to lose a seat. Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Illinois, all blue states. Who’s getting these? Texas, Florida, Idaho and Utah. I mean, this looks like game over, you know, and the reason why people are voting with their feet is. a lot of what your book is about yeah taxes and regulation i certainly been screaming about it forever i did three years with a sign here that said how long is it going to take me to get my solar hooked up three years talking about it on television in this state you couldn’t do it this state has almost 400 000 regulations i just put in a new roof because the fire i thought oh let’s get a roof that’s not going to burn up two inspections why are you inspecting my roof It’s my roof. If it falls on me, that’s my problem. And we’re taxed more than any other state. People are leaving these kind of states for places where they’re not, they feel the heavy breath of government on them. It’s just, it’s not that hard for Democrats to understand this, but they seem incapable of doing anything about it.
SPEAKER 07 :
Now, let me give you an example of another show business personality who evidently fled the United States after Trump got elected and now lives in Ireland. Here’s Rosie O’Donnell. Apparently she can’t even help herself. Instead of just living out her retirement in Ireland or maybe becoming, you know, a talk show host in Ireland, she’s decided she’s going to make the rounds and do interviews with political talk shows in Ireland. And maybe she thinks these interviews won’t get back to the United States, but they have. And here’s what she said. You know, a lot of people did vote for him.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes. Do you accept their right to do that and their opinion of him?
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, I respect their right to do that. I question why the first time in American history a president has won every swing state. and is also best friends and his largest donor was a man who owns and runs the Internet. So I would hope that that would be investigated and that we would see whether or not it was an anomaly or something else that happened on election night in America when Kamala Harris was filling up stadiums with people who supported her. And Donald Trump was not able to do that. So it’s curious to me. And as an American and a believer in democracy, I would hope that we would be able to look at all of the reasons why this happened.
SPEAKER 07 :
OK, there you go. So Rosie’s an election denier of 2024. Hillary was an election denier of 2016. Democrats lined up en masse disputing the outcome of Trump’s 2016 victory, saying the Russians did it. I saw some clip over the weekend, some prominent Democrat saying that Russia clearly played a role in Trump’s election. So they do it, but of course when we do it, destroy people’s lives. De-platform them, get them fired, maybe put them in jail. But they do it all day long. You know, there’s an inclination to ignore what people like Rosie O’Donnell have to say. But I don’t want to ignore what they have to say because she represents views of a lot of people. There are plenty of people that love Rosie. People on the left who appreciate her. They love her, you know, her sharp elbows and her provocative comments. And there you go. There is… Somebody from Hollywood, front and center, claiming that the 2024 election was rigged. Is anybody going to call her out for being an election denier from the left? Highly unlikely. Somebody just sent me a text that the Tesla stock is up 7 or 8%. Well, maybe. I don’t know. Are they going to succeed in trying to ruin it? a great American company like Tesla. They want to burn down and destroy anything that isn’t on their side. But the sides are getting hard to find. Did you see what happened when Trump walked into the stadium in Philadelphia over the weekend? to go to the NCAA Wrestling Championship. I want to play for you the moment Trump walked in the door. There was kind of a lull in the crowd. Suddenly there was some attention focused in the corner. He walks in to watch the NCAA Wrestling Championship, and here’s how it turned out. Then they ultimately started screaming USA, USA in unison. That’s Philadelphia, a blue, big, blue American city. I promise you there were tons of Democrats in that stadium cheering and roaring with approval at the 45th and 47th president of the United States. So where do we go from here? Do you listen to the left? Do you listen to the Rosies? Do you try to win them over? Do you want to continue this at each other’s throat mindset that we seem to be in right now? Or do you think there’s a chance to find some common ground? I got an invitation from an organization that is trying to unite the left and the right. And they want to know if I want to have a representative from that organization on the show. And I do. I told Tracy, let’s book them. Let’s get somebody on who can talk about talking with each other rather than at each other. Have you seen these Charlie Kirk videos that go viral? Where Charlie talks to college kids and goes one-on-one with kids who disagree with him? That’s how it’s done. That’s what we should do. And I want to do better at disagreeing with people who call this show who hate Trump or hate Republicans or hate what’s happening right now in America. I want to hear what it is they dislike. Hopefully they’ll hear me and we can have some meaningful civil dialogue. Anything wrong with that? 800-655-MIKE. 16 past the hour. We’re in the Relief Factor studios for a Monday. Ready for another week? We’ve got a lot to break down for you. 800-655-MIKE. 800-655-6453. One call does it all. Call or text. However you get here, get here. On this Monday, March the 24th episode of The Mike Gallagher Show. I just got the daily report for our Food for the Poor campaign. Look, if the new kid on the block, Chris DeGaulle, beats us in the campaign, I’m in big trouble. I’m giving up. You can’t let that happen. If you like what we do… Because we’re all doing this together, this Food for the Poor campaign. I’m going to give you the phone number that I didn’t give you a moment ago. I just need 400 people to pop in 100 bucks. Let’s get 100 people today to donate $100. Food for the Poor. This is what we do. We do this a few times a year. And here’s the phone number that I left out before. If you want to make a phone call, have your credit card standing by and call Food for the Poor. 844-860-HOPE. That’s 844-860-4673. Or you can go to mikeonline.com, click on that banner at the top of the page, or just text the keyword food to 800-655-MIKE, and we’ll send you back the link. And thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting our Food for the Poor campaign. Come on, let’s get there. Come on, 400 people. Wouldn’t it be amazing? How astounding would it be if I could touch the hearts of 400 people, maybe even you, Ed, in Naples? Instead of being grumpy at me, feed starving children. Clothe the naked. Feed the hungry. Partner with the Christian ministry. All I need is 400 people to donate 100 bucks, and we’re there. We’ve got our goal. Maybe we could do it today. Go to mikeonline.com, click on the banner, or call 844-860-HOPE. Call 844-860-4673. However you reach out, I do hope you’ll join me as folks just like you all over America step up to help our friends at the Christian nonprofit international relief organization, Food for the Poor. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
SPEAKER 06 :
He’s the happy conservative warrior. From the Relief Factor Studios, here’s Mike Deller.
SPEAKER 07 :
In a few minutes, we’re going to visit with our friend Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow. I have witnessed Mike be absolutely put through the ringer. You’ve heard all the stories about the FBI seizing his cell phone, about all the efforts to bankrupt MyPillow. And I’ve got a special place in my heart for MyPillow because of the role this audience has played in supporting this terrific American company. And I want to see where… I haven’t talked to Mike since Trump was elected in November. I want to catch up with him. Of course, he and President Trump are friends. Years ago, Mike was apolitical, and he’s had quite a journey. He’s a good guy. He’s a really good guy. And it always hurts your heart to see good people put through so much. So we’ll visit with Mike in just a couple of moments. Before we do that, though, after a weekend of… You know, more back and forth and, you know, lots of developments. Concerns about lower court judges trying to set the entire executive branch. It’s just bizarre. And you wonder when you see Trump walk into the NCAA Wrestling Championship in Philly and the roar of approval he got. Are the people who hate Trump and Musk and Doge and the people who are condemning the deportation flights, which seems like you’re defending violent gangs, you’ve got to have some humor. You know, if you don’t laugh, maybe you’ll cry. And that goes for everybody. So over the weekend, I saw a clip from Saturday Night Live, and it was depicting a dog that that supposedly had the ability to speak out loud with its thoughts. It had like a helmet on its head. It’s the cutest clip. If you’re watching today on Salem News Channel, you’ll see this clip. And I’m a sucker for a good dog video. So SNL did this skit. You may remember it. Where the dog was… speaking out loud through this device on its head, its thoughts and its political beliefs. And the people on the panel and all the adults are mortified, including the owner of the dog. But when I saw this clip, I thought, this kind of sums up what a lot of Americans are going through right now. This kind of… You know, defines what many Americans see themselves doing with this back and forth. I mean, when Trump gets this roaring reception at the NCAA championships, and Elon was there too, by the way, which was, I thought, really interesting. Huge ovation. In fact, play it real quick, Christian. Here’s what Trump got when he walked into the room, into this big arena, the NCAA Wrestling Championships. There’s Elon. Look at the response he got as he walked. He first came down the ramp and into the arena. I got an email from somebody last night who said they were so angry because they saw some liberal publication online say there were some boos. Guy was in the arena with his wife and kids. He said there were no boos. Nobody booed in that stadium in Philly. More fake news. But that’s what we’re used to, right? So here’s a sketch from Saturday Night Live. Again, picture this. The dog’s got a helmet on its head, and the dog’s thoughts are being deciphered by this device on its head so that everybody in the room can hear what the dog is really thinking.
SPEAKER 12 :
What else do you like?
SPEAKER 11 :
I like parm and leash, and I like Trump. He’s my man.
SPEAKER 12 :
Wait, what? What did your dog just say? Um, it must be a translation error, some kind of glitch.
SPEAKER 11 :
There’s no glitch. Donald Trump is our president. He carried the electoral college fair and square.
SPEAKER 05 :
This can’t be right. Did you know your dog likes Trump? He doesn’t.
SPEAKER 11 :
I absolutely do. I know Trump has issues, but one big change is better than business as usual. Hey, Max, no. You drop that right now. You don’t like Trump. The Dow was up 2,700 points since he was elected. What’s not to like?
SPEAKER 12 :
Your dog is a monster. No, he’s not. Just let me talk to him. Max, I’m sorry, but you’re just a dog. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
SPEAKER 11 :
Excuse me, Helen, but yes, I do. Stinking helmet. Can’t believe you put this on me. It’s just that condescending attitude that made people want to vote for Trump in the first place.
SPEAKER 12 :
Get over here, Max. This is crazy, okay? I can’t believe you’re saying this. You’re supposed to be my best friend.
SPEAKER 11 :
And as your friend, I don’t want to see your tax dollars going to health care for illegals. Your dog is a jackass.
SPEAKER 12 :
Oh, hang on. Hang on, Max. Listen, Trump is bad. Trump is a racist.
SPEAKER 11 :
What do you know about black people? You never brought one into our house once. What?
SPEAKER 12 :
Really? No, Max, that is not true.
SPEAKER 11 :
It is absolutely true, Helen. Plus, Trump is the only one that isn’t owned by Wall Street.
SPEAKER 12 :
Oh, my God. Are you insane? My head’s going to explode. What about his record on women’s rights? Don’t you want me to have a choice over my own body?
SPEAKER 11 :
You didn’t afford me a choice when you cut off my… Max, you don’t know anything.
SPEAKER 12 :
You’re a dog. You’re just a dog. You pee on the floor.
SPEAKER 11 :
And you… out of boredom. What the hell is that? about right now.
SPEAKER 13 :
Max!
SPEAKER 11 :
You just assume that because I’m a Trump supporter that I’m a xenophobic racist.
SPEAKER 12 :
No, I don’t. Max, your best friend at the dog park is a chihuahua.
SPEAKER 11 :
So?
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, that means he’s Mexican, and Trump wants to kick them out of the country.
SPEAKER 11 :
If Akito was born here, he has nothing to worry about. This is a nation of laws.
SPEAKER 12 :
All right, stand back. I’m going to shoot him with the gun I carry. Don’t miss.
SPEAKER 11 :
Oh, for God’s sake. I can’t even have a conversation without you liberal snowflakes.
SPEAKER 12 :
Enough, enough, enough. Now, shut up, Max. Just shut your dumb mouth.
SPEAKER 07 :
I mean, and I don’t even know what was behind that other than, and it was a few years ago. That was during Trump’s first term. But it fits today, doesn’t it? Doesn’t it apply today? When I see somebody online saying, if you support Trump, The Trump administration’s agenda, you’re a racist? I think, do they really feel that way? Or is that just the blind rage and anger taking over and they’re taking leave of their senses? When you hear that stadium erupt in the cacophony of roars of approval for Trump, you think those are all just a bunch of racists? Those are all a bunch of hateful, brainwashed lunatics? This country is loving the direction we’re going in. Polls are showing it. Stadiums are showing it. And yet, the left is as angry as ever. Get your reaction to all of it as we welcome you aboard, kick things off for a Monday. Here are the Relief Factor studios. SPEAKER 06 :
Mike Gallagher. Every day Mike visits with Mark Davis. Morning host on 660 AM The Answer in Dallas. Here’s today’s Eminem experience.
SPEAKER 07 :
There was so much that happened last week. My gosh. I mean, the Tesla drama, the judges’ drama, the violence that’s going on, the Charlie Kirk videos that are going more and more viral where he goes onto college campuses and he debates these kids one-on-one, and they’re so good. Did you see the one with the kid and his progressive dad, the conservative son and the progressive dad?
SPEAKER 08 :
Because there are two kinds of things that happen in the Charlie Kirk, and they all tend to be outside of these events that have thousands of people… Sometimes it’s the gentle dressing down of a woman who thinks it’s great to kill babies. Sometimes it’s a young man who took issue with Charlie’s shirt about something immigration-related. Oh, no, Gulf of America. Exactly, Gulf of America.
SPEAKER 07 :
The kid was offended by that.
SPEAKER 08 :
Right. The one that you’re referring to, though, it was a dad and his son, a liberal dad and a conservative young man, so it’s noteworthy right off the bat, showing genuine love for each other and Charlie exhorting them to never let politics interfere with family love.
SPEAKER 07 :
Charlie says to the dad, why don’t you, because he said, why is your son conservative? And the dad’s answer was, heck if I know, I don’t know, blah, blah, blah. And Charlie said, why don’t you know? There’s problem number one. If you don’t know why, right, it means you’re not paying attention. That’s right, and you’re not listening to him, and he maybe isn’t listening to you. And incidentally, it was such an interesting visual. The kid has, like, neck tattoos and, you know, like goth, almost like a goth look. I would not have spotted him as a Trump voter. No, but he became one because he said, look, I don’t like the condition of the country. Look, I have to look at the reaction of a lot of people on the left right now. Somebody posted, this was a leftist on social media over the weekend. I know this is dramatic, she wrote, but I’m really upset about all the Teslas being torched and the vandalism occurring nationwide. This is the worst look for the left. Violent, angry and destructive. All of this being directed at a clean energy company. I’m so disappointed. I mean, it’s so head-snapping, it’s so head-turning to see what the left has become all because of Elon Musk. And again, they used to love the guy when he was not on Team Trump. It’s only about the tribalism. That’s all it’s about. It’s only about what side are you on. And you’re either with me or you’re against me. And I don’t know what we should do on our side about this. I got an email over the weekend from an organization trying to bring the left and right together. And they said, do you want a guest on from something Angels, America Angels or something? And I’m going to forward it to Tracy to see if we want to have him on because I think we need more of that video clip of Charlie Kirk and the father and the son talking with each other, not at each other. What is it you’re so angry about? Look, I don’t know that all the anger is artificial on the part of the left. And I believe that we’re called as humans, as fellow Americans, to listen to one another. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, Mark. Do you? I don’t.
SPEAKER 08 :
And yet when we talk about what it means to listen. When we listen to people saying that borders don’t matter, when we listen to people saying there are 47 genders, when we listen to people saying that my SUV is making the planet warmer, okay, there’s the listening part. But then there must be the answering back part, tactfully, civilly saying, no, you guys are absolutely wrong about these things. And that’s a necessary part. The listening must be followed by talking. The list must be followed by constructive conversation.
SPEAKER 07 :
And coming to our own conclusions, look, I think the listening exercise and the talking with each other rather than at each other falls under the category of persuasiveness. All you’re trying to do is persuade the other side. They’ll try to persuade us. Tell us what you’re angry about. Why do you think it’s okay to carve a swastika into a Tesla? Tell us why you think that’s okay. Tell us why you don’t want a secure border. I mean, these are things, and look, there is common ground. Tweet by Guy Benson from Town Hall and Fox News. And Guy is concerned that there’s a report that there have been some illegals who were swept up in the immigration raids who are now in a prison somewhere in Venezuela, and they’re not criminals. And Guy’s position was—now, I don’t want to jump to conclusions, although he— Kind of did. Yeah, but he said if only one person is right now in a Venezuelan prison, I mean, it’s real dramatic and it’s real over the top, but on the other hand, he got me thinking. We don’t want people who aren’t criminals in a Venezuelan prison, but then again, every one of them are illegals, so they’re here illegally to begin with, but I think Guy is probably right. That doesn’t mean you ought to land in a Venezuelan prison. And I keep hearing… Elon Musk’s voice in the Oval Office with the kid, the little ex, crawling all over him. And he said, look, we’re going to make some mistakes. And when we make mistakes, we’ve got to fix them. We’ve got to be transparent. We’ve got to be open about it. And that’s what we have to lean on because I do believe that’s the right course of action, Mark.
SPEAKER 08 :
I do, too. And I would – okay. The one – It’s an old slogan of jurisprudence that we would rather let 10 guilty people go free than imprison one innocent person in the American justice system. And I subscribe to that. Does that necessarily extend to we’d rather not deport 100 dangerous people than have one non-dangerous innocent person in a prison in Venezuela? I guess so. It is a human process. It is going to be filled with human flaws. And I think Elon’s solution, if you want to call it one, is that. And listen, I’m reading this biography of his, Elon Musk, by Walter Isaacson.
SPEAKER 07 :
I want to get it. Do it.
SPEAKER 08 :
It’s 600 pages, every single one of them a gem. You… You totally understand him, whether it’s SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, the 14 other things that he’s doing, or now Doge or reforming American government. He goes all in, both feet, everything cranked up to 11. And if there’s a mistake, you identify the mistake, you correct the mistake, and ultimately you wind up with a better, more ambitious solution than if you’d just been hemming and hawing and twiddling your thumbs.
SPEAKER 07 :
But let’s go back. But let’s go back to the point you made. This is very interesting to me. So if you’ve got 100 violent people who are deported and wind up in a Venezuelan or a prison in El Salvador somewhere, and one or two or five of them are not violent criminals. They were swept up. They were a neighbor. It was a tattoo that wasn’t recognizable, yada, yada. Here’s the problem. what Guy Benson is inadvertently suggesting, I think, and he said, I fully support the deportation. And most Americans do, let’s be clear. But if we start seeing instances of mistakes, which will be characterized as abuse, there’s a risk that the whole thing gets shut down. That’s what you said that’s so important, Mark. And so here’s the question. Do we have the stomach for acknowledging mistakes? Here’s the big issue to me, due process. What’s the due process for… For those people who may or may not have been incorrectly rounded up.
SPEAKER 08 :
It is not that elaborate and not that multilayered for people once we’ve put them in the deportation target. But it does seem like if somebody has a point to make that says, hey, here’s why I should not be deported, it seems like, got 15 minutes, let’s hear what that argument is and see if it’s worthy.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right, and I believe that the concern is a valid one. There’s just no question. So look, we have to have our eyes wide open, but I think we’ve got to be listening. I think we’ve got to have a degree of empathy. We have to have some understanding that things can go wrong and people are going to get hurt, and that’s hard. We don’t want people to get hurt. We want the bad guys to have accountability. So there’s a lot unfolding here. Now look, let me ask you about the movies. You love movies. I love movies. I can’t wait to start binging 1923 and The Pit. Well, both of them. They’re on my list. I’m going to start maybe tonight. I’m going to start watching these shows. I like documentaries. I watched one with my friends Peg and Joey when I was in South Carolina last week about the tornado that wiped out Joplin, Missouri. It’s a fascinating documentary, and there’s a lot. If you like weather and you like those kind of weather stories, I mean, they had a lot of video of that horrible. I think it killed 161 people, and it was mostly focused on a high school, the high school that was wiped out. But anyway, we love it, and I love it. You’re right. We’re kind of in a golden era. Whether we don’t like the wokeness, well, let’s look at what the wokeness did to Snow White. Oh, yeah. That movie had a $250 million budget. It opened with $43 million in domestic ticket sales, light years below, miles below what they wanted for it. And you got this star, Rachel Zegler. who’s going around, she’s obviously a Trump hater, and she’s making all these obnoxious comments. I saw one clip. If I’ve got to stand around in an iconic Disney princess costume for hours on end, I’m going to get paid for every hour that that costume is being streamed online. I thought, oh, that’s lovely. That’s nice. Like you didn’t make enough money to do the movie?
SPEAKER 08 :
And by the way, in the movies, they do refer to Snow White To the name actually having come from the creamy complexion of her skin, right?
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. That’s where it was originally. Not anymore. That’s what it is now. It’s because she was born during a snowstorm. Of course. You can’t say skin as white as snow. No, no, no. And you can’t let the prince rescue her. Oh, no. Oh, no, no. Not in… Not the way he did. No, no.
SPEAKER 08 :
Not with that non-consensual kiss. Oh, no.
SPEAKER 07 :
And finally, you know what started all this, right? Dwarves.
SPEAKER 08 :
Dwarves.
SPEAKER 07 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 08 :
And you know who… Peter Dinklage going… That’s right. Who’s an actual little person… OK, Ricky Gervais, who, again, I disagree with stone cold atheist and also one of the funniest people in the world, said that there is irony in Peter Dinklage complaining about little people being used in a film as any kind of undercutting the actual work environment for people who have the exact same sort of challenge that he faces. He says, I got to tell you, I watched I watched Peter Dinklage. He was not happy. In fact, I think he was grumpy.
SPEAKER 07 :
Oh, ouch. Well, but here’s what I do know about Peter Dinklage’s outrage and what he said was it’s dehumanizing to cast little people as dwarves. That’s so silly. That’s so wrong. Well, here’s what I know. You know what it costs to have animated dwarves in the Snow White movie? You know what those animated figures got? Nothing. You know what seven little people actors would have gotten? A big fat paycheck. Of course. So he put seven people out of work. This is unbelievable to me. This is what wokeness does. It invades. It infects the brain. It makes smart people. Yes, and nice people mean. Look, that’s the Mark Davis rule about Trump hatred. I think it could be applied to wokeism. It’s true. Wokeism takes smart people, makes them dumb, and nice people, and makes them mean.
SPEAKER 08 :
Makes funny people unfunny. Also, that’s the idea.
SPEAKER 07 :
Tell me you saw Trump walk into the NCAA Wrestling Championship.
SPEAKER 08 :
I sure did. Was that in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?
SPEAKER 07 :
In Philly. Contrary to reports, I’ve looked at the video ten different ways from Sunday. No booze. No boos at all. Media eye tried to say, oh, well, there were some boos and there was a protest out front. Yeah, nice try. Nice try. The man is the people’s president. Now, I’m not sure J.D. is as popular as he is. Maybe tomorrow we can pick up where we left off. Some recent polling suggests… To quote Senator John Kennedy, or to paraphrase, that J.D. is as popular as chlamydia. I mean, John Kennedy is the gift that keeps giving.
SPEAKER 08 :
He wasn’t referring to J.D.
SPEAKER 07 :
No, no, he was referring to one of the policies of the left. But I don’t know. Is it possible? Why? What would be?
SPEAKER 08 :
Because, I mean, I love J.D.
SPEAKER 07 :
Is it the Zelensky meeting in the White House, maybe?
SPEAKER 08 :
Whom did that bother? Whom did that bother?
SPEAKER 07 :
Please. The woke anti-dwarves.
SPEAKER 08 :
The right people are upset. Generally.
SPEAKER 07 :
I guess.
SPEAKER 08 :
But let’s do talk about that tomorrow because guess what? We’ve got tomorrow. We’ve got tomorrow. We’ve got all week. We’ve got all week. So tip your wafers.
SPEAKER 07 :
We’ve got two weeks before I go on vacation. So then I get to punish you. All right. Happy Monday. I love you. Glad you’re back. Glad you’re back. Welcome back, my friend.
