Okay, Ready Radio, KLZ 560, thanks for joining us today. We appreciate it very much. Bill Anderson joining me now. Bill, welcome. How are you? I’m doing okay today. That’s a little cooler today. In fact, it dropped about, I don’t know, 10 degrees in like an hour. Yeah, hopefully. You know, we’re really slow with our HVAC stuff. Well, it’s gotten a lot colder here of late, going to be a colder weekend, so that should probably help in that. One of the things in today’s topic, and for those of you listening, I’m going to take a topic that one of you asked me this past week. Because Bill and I last week, we got into really talking about the power outages, which, by the way, there’s potentially some that are up north all the way into Wyoming where there’s mandatory outages because of wind and fear of fire and so on. And I think that’s going to become more of a norm, Bill, as we go. move forward. So we talked a lot last week about home generation and how do you handle things and what are some of the best ways to do that. We may go ahead and recap a little bit of that as we go through the program today. But I got a question that came in from a listener and actually a couple of different people asked the same question. And Bill, I thought we could cover this today because it’s a pretty good topic. I’ve maybe brushed upon this in the past, but I don’t know if I’ve ever fully you know, engulfed myself in this particular topic, but that is, you know, if and when things get really bad out there and you’ve got all the things that we’re talking about and you’ve gotten yourself prepared and you happen to be the only house on the block or in a particular area where the lights are on, how do you handle that? And that is the question of the day. That’s a big one. I think it’s only considerable. I’m losing you, Bill. If you can get to a different, I don’t know what to tell you, higher ground, different spot, whatever, you’re breaking up really bad. So I may actually hang up with you and have you call me back. I think I’ll do that, see if we can’t get a better connection. I’m going to go ahead and click you off. So, Bill, call us back. I’ll get you right on. on the horn as soon as I can, see if we can get him in a little bit better spot. The other thing I was going to talk to Bill about as well, which hopefully he’s listening, but I’ll refresh his memory here in a moment, is given the fact that he’s in the gun safety instruction, concealed carry permits, all that kind of stuff, Bill does a lot of that as well. In fact, for some of you listening, I get questions periodically, how do I get a hold of Bill? I had one of you ask me that this past week. His website is prep2protectco.com. And, yeah, if you’re looking to get any kind of instruction, and there’s some different gun laws that are going to be taking place as we get further into 2026, in some cases— heavy gun laws in regards to buying semi-automatic weapons and so on. I haven’t talked much about that even on the daily program, but I will get to that on the daily program. I’m going to cover it here first before we actually do that. But again, going back to our main topic, Bill, do I have you now? Yeah, I was Wi-Fi calling, and I had my VPN interfering with me, so I had to turn that off. Much better, much better. Okay, so I had the question came in, because last week we talked about power outages and trying to stay up, especially with some of these planned outages, like even in some cases some are going through as we speak. And then the question came up through several different listeners. OK, what if we really get to that sort of, you know, the power has been out for several days and maybe things aren’t looking up and maybe the power is not coming back on. But you happen to be a house in an area, a neighborhood, whatever, where the lights are on. How do you handle that? And that’s a great question, by the way.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, and that’s something that you really have to realize and sort through with any of your preparations. this is a reality that people I think forget that everybody’s friendly until they get hungry. Everybody’s friendly until their kids are in need until they’re, you know, whatever their addictions are, uh, kick in, right. Whether even, and by the way, it doesn’t have to be a drug or alcohol addiction. It can be an addiction to the TV. It can be addiction to, you know, the internet, social media, uh, you know, or my apps or my whatever it may be. And let me tell you, you know, your neighbor’s really nice and friendly to you until they have no power and you do. Right. And so that’s right. This is a reality with all of the stuff we talk about, John, whether it’s a generator, whether it’s food preps, whether it’s, you know, you’ve got any indication of things in your yard that you, you know, rain barrels, whatever, whatever, whatever. even as far as, like, chickens and rabbits and things like that. You know, I guarantee you that if it gets that bad, you know, my neighbors would be looking at my rabbit pen going, yep, I want to go get me one of those tonight or whatever. You know, I mean, that’s just the truth and the reality. I mean, look at what happens when, you know, a hurricane strikes New Orleans or when these people go and they – They just go on a rampage and go through the stores and take everything. And I know people go, well, we don’t live there. We don’t live in that kind of environment. Hey, people are people.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yes. Yes. Good point.
SPEAKER 09 :
So, you know, you got to stop thinking that. And here’s another reality that the stuff you used to think happened only in certain parts of town. You know, coming to a theater near you, you know, just like we talked about a couple weeks ago with the protests and stuff, you know, I mean, it doesn’t seem like distance is – it can buy you time, but it doesn’t mean that distance is your ultimate protector. You know, so you’ve got a problem. You’re the only house kicking, and everybody knows it. And this is something I have said since day one. You know, this is really why you need to start considering – Do you want a noisy generator? You need to have the tiered approach. I’m a fan of a tiered approach. Not one is the answer. Not solar panels, not a generator, not a windmill, not what they would call the solar generators, the battery packs, if you will, the battery walls. Not any one of them is the answer. All of them are bricks, John, that build a strong structure. I agree.
SPEAKER 07 :
No, I agree with everything you just said, and I think that’s where – and there’s folks listening, and I’ve even seen some of what some of our folks listening have done and what they’ve built and the approach they’ve taken, and I get it. You know, Bill, everybody’s different depending upon where you live. Although I want to throw this out there for a lot of you where you think, man, I live way out in the middle of nowhere and, you know, nobody’s going to be bothering me because I’m all out by myself. Well, a lot of these books that I read and listen to, Bill, it’s funny that and I think these authors are pretty spot on in a lot of cases. Even those individuals, because keep in mind, once things really get bad, you know, and I say once, I mean, will that happen in our lifetime or not, Bill? I really, I don’t know. I don’t have any idea. I still am one where I think it’s more of an if, not when. Is it in our lifetime or not? That I don’t know. But I do think at some point things will get to that stage that it will be like, you know, you and I are talking about. I do believe that. And I do think these authors get this right because when things get that way, Everybody, Bill, I mean everybody, becomes more mobile. In other words, they start roaming around and going places that they might not normally go, meaning that you might be out in the middle of nowhere, but if you’re out in the middle of nowhere with resources, believe me, I don’t care how far out you are, somebody’s going to find that, Bill.
SPEAKER 09 :
Right. Well, I mean, I don’t believe in evolution, John.
SPEAKER 07 :
No, me neither.
SPEAKER 09 :
I don’t believe in that. But here’s the reality. Our ancestors were hunter-gatherers. So they followed the flocks. They went to where the food source was. And at the end of the day, it’s the same thing. We’ve lost that idea because we go hunt and gather at the Walmart. But when those shelves get empty and stuff, that’s where we go searching. And ask yourself this honest question. Okay. If you were the guy that has a starving kid, a medical need with one of your family members, whatever it may be, whatever it may be, and your neighbor had the generator. how far would you go? Right. Good point. Great point. Flip the switch. Flip the script, I should say. Yeah, great point. Ask yourself that question.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, and I think there’s a lot of people out there, and I’ve talked to some of these individuals whereby, Bill, at first they’re going to say, oh, I’m a God-fearing, Bible-believing Christian. I would never take what doesn’t belong to me, so on and so forth. And then it’s like, well, wait a minute. If your family’s survival… depends upon you doing something drastic. You’re telling me that you’re just going to let them all die without doing something drastic? The reality to that, Bill, is no, they’ll do something drastic.
SPEAKER 09 :
Right, right. You don’t really know what you’re going to do until you’re put into that situation. That’s the honest truth. Correct. You know, I don’t know if I ever told you this story, but when I was in basic training way back when, and we had this big old guy from the Bronx, right? And day one, he’d run around telling everybody how bad he was and how he ran the neighborhood and nobody messed with him and da-da-da-da. And then the day they took us to the gas chamber, you know, because what you would do in basic is they’d run you into the gas chamber. You’d walk in there with your mask. You’d pop your mask off. You’d put it back on. You’d clear it. And then, you know, you were good to go. And then you had to take it off. And then everybody had to take it off. And everybody had to get a good dose of the gas. And then, you know, put it back on and try to clear it. This guy that ruled his neighborhood that was, you know, big, bad Leroy Brown, if you will, was crying for his mom, was rolling around on the floor. And the point I’m making is – You don’t know what you’re going to do until you’re really in that situation, John. In your mind, you might think, I’m going to do this, I’m going to do that, I’m going to do that. But life’s dynamic, and you just don’t really know. And you don’t know what your wife or your kids are going to do. And you may be able to starve for yourself, let’s just say. You may be able to go without it. But it definitely changes when your kids or your grandkids are starving. You’re like, okay, I can go without, but this is the line.
SPEAKER 07 :
And by the way, that’s a great point. And I think that’s where, for a lot of folks listening, where A, they think, well, this is never going to happen. Well… Okay. I mean, I said this last week, Bill. I live in a home where I happen to be in a part of the grid whereby for the past 10 years of living there, I can honestly say, and this is not an exaggeration, I’ve never had a single power outage until that week before Christmas where Xcel Energy just decided to shut off complete blankets of areas. And I think that’s going to continue to happen. I don’t think Xcel Energy is done with that. I think other power companies are now, as you’re seeing even Over the last few days, other power companies are looking at exactly the same thing. They basically, quote-unquote, started a trend to avoid liability. And trust me, Bill, that’s not going to stop. That’s going to continue on. I mean, you of all people know what I’m talking about. So my point is we all can get somewhat comfortable. Because you sort of think, oh, you know, that’s never going to happen to me. You know, I’m not going to be that guy. You know, that’s just not going to be, you know, in my wheelhouse. That’s not going to affect me. And, you know, that old saying, you know, Bill, you know, never say never. It’s very applicable to the things that we talk about in this program every Friday. Because if you say, you know, if you say that, you know. well, that’s never going to happen to me, you know, never say never sort of a thing. Trust me, it’s going to come, you know, it will come to your doorstep at some point in time. Believe me when I say that.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, it may not look like what you’re describing, but it will come in a different form.
SPEAKER 07 :
Correct.
SPEAKER 09 :
You know, I mean, it’s really, really important to understand, you know, when we talk about this stuff, we may not be talking about, you know, the, the, into the world the big one right i think that’s where everybody goes to but you know you’ve got you’ve got lots of little micro you know tragedies that could happen you could lose your job you could you could get deathly ill you could you know get in a car ration car crash and can’t walk for a little while or or whatever it may be or maybe to a to a more regional you know hey this region went down or maybe you know, your state goes down.
SPEAKER 07 :
I mean… Well, you saw what happened in Texas just a few years ago, Bill. That’s another example to where, you know, it could be on a state basis like Texas, which is its own region because of how big it is, or it could be other situations that come up along those lines. Yeah, I think your point is well said. I mean, we all sort of look at this and think, well, you know, when that big one really happens, everybody’s going to be in the same boat. Well… Maybe, maybe not. And there’s lots of smaller, like you say, Bill, potential regional events that could happen. And folks listening, we’re not talking just power outages. I mean, that’s the main gist of the conversation today is, you know, what do you do if you’re the only house on the block with lights? But I think you could go one step further and say, okay, what if you’re the only block on the house with lights? food? What if you’re the only block on the house that’s warm? What if you’re the only block on the house that have all of its windows intact? What if you’re the only house that other folks know you’ve got fresh water? I mean, to your point, Bill, you’ve got animals, you’ve got other things that would help others survive. What if you’re the only house on the block in any one of those scenarios?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, and we’re getting to the heart of the matter. We’re taking away topical issues, and you’re getting to the heart because that’s really the only way you’re going to solve it because you’re not going to address a topical issue like the power grid, let’s just say. You know, you can have generators, you have solar powers, you can have battery walls, you can have all these things, but at the end of the day, it’s at some point going to run out, right? Your fuel’s going to run out for your generator. Maybe you have sun, maybe you don’t. You’re not going to be able to charge those batteries on that wall. So at some point, you’re still at a weaker standpoint. And if you’re at night and, yeah, go get the blackout curtains, go do all that stuff, whatever, whatever… But you’re the only house with a light. And listen, word travels fast, right? I mean, even in those books that we reread or the shows that we watch, you know, your kid goes, it’s like, well, hey, we got power. In fact, Greenland 2 is out now. We’re going to go see it in the movie theater, but we had to watch Greenland 1. And, you know, they got the bracelets. I don’t know if you’re familiar with the movie. They got selected.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right. I remember the first movie. I need to rewatch it like you because, you know, I think from what Andy said last week in his review, you can watch them individually, but I still think you’re going to be better watching the first one before you get into the second one.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. But the kid was like, hey, I got the bracelet. We were selected. Totally just being an honest kid with the question. And now, well, if you remember the first movie, you know, they kicked the mom out, kidnapped the kid, trying to get in, blah, blah, blah. But just, you know, it’s really hard. To keep secrets, John. Right. Especially with the more people that know, you know. Oh, I remember talking to John a few years back, and he had all this backup power stuff. Right. Remember at the barbecue he was talking about that? Right. Well, they’re going to remember stuff like that, right? They are. Good point. So, you know, we could catch this break here, and we could talk about what… the heart of the matter is and how to fix the heart of the issue instead of the, hey, the topical. Okay, let’s do that.

And Bill, as we left the last segment talking about, okay, let’s really get into the meat of what we’re talking about here and the core issues that will be at hand. And while we were at break there, and I’m kind of scrolling through news feeds and so on, everybody listening, please remember that You know, while I do think we’ve got a great president, he’s doing great things around the world. We happen to be in a situation right now with a country called, you know, Iran, where they have vowed to not only kill President Trump, but a lot of Israelis as well. I mean, at the end of the day, Bill, these are people that are wackadoodles to the max. They are crazies among crazy. If you look up the definition of crazy, that’s their picture there, by the way. These are individuals that will literally, you know, all costs. They don’t care. They’re willing to sacrifice themselves even to get back at the powers that be. And that power that be is us.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, and not to go into the, I don’t know, we call it conspiracies or whatever, but here’s a reality. I don’t think it’s a conspiracy theory, but there’s so many, in my opinion, my opinion, John, so many cells in America just waiting. And that was the problem with Venezuela, by the way. Everybody thinks it’s about the stinking oil, and it’s not. And by the way, it was about the oil, too, because you can black market anything, whether it’s legal or not. But anyway, Venezuela, they were allowing these people to come to them in their country. They were reissuing brand-new documents, making, like, let’s say an Iranian, making them a Venezuelan citizen, giving them the proper – new documentation so that they could enter into the United States without being flagged because of their prior history. And that was the danger of the open borders that we allowed I don’t know how many of those people in. So if we do go to You know, some kind of a conflict with Iran. You know, we’ve got many seeds, I believe, planted. And you can’t think, oh, well, that’s, you know, on the other side of the world. No, I think that’s going to be you’re going to see that awaken. And that’s how they’re going to fight. They can’t military versus military. Yep. They can’t take us. They can’t take – hardly anybody probably can in the world. But you know what? They can take us out that way.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, yeah, it’s sort of like – how do you – I’m trying to think of a comparison here, Bill. It would be like, okay, you can’t eat all of the elephant at once, but you can eat the elephant one bite at a time. And what these particular individuals will look at is – yeah, militarily speaking, Bill, across the board, not another country on planet Earth that can even compete with what we’ve got. That’s been proven here. Even in the last six months or so, bottom line, yeah, it’s not going to happen. Nobody can compete with us on that level. But could they individually and through some of these cells and through certain attacks on certain – we’ve got NFL games going on this weekend and so on. I’m not trying to scare anybody, but the reality, Bill, is – and I’m not thinking about or saying anything that others haven’t already – thought about i say that all the time trust me folks i’m not giving any terrorists any ideas that they haven’t thought about among themselves and with some of the places bill that we’re the most vulnerable or some of the things that we talk about here on an ongoing basis we talk about electricity and our fresh water supply not even the food and the trucking and all of that there’s enough issues there as well but just the infrastructure alone that we have with water sewer and power bill the reality is there’s been many a study done on this over the years reality is as america itself is concerned We have literally wasted so much money on other types of giveaway programs, and I’m going to say it for what it is. We have had food stamps and other things and so on that we have given so much money away to, and yet we have neglected the very things that I’m talking about right now. And at some point, you have to wonder, Bill, and I wonder this on a regular basis, when does that come home to roost?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, it’s cracks in the foundation. We didn’t take care of the foundation, John. Think of a house. You know, you’ve got a foundation that’s crumbling, that’s old, but yet we continue to build more rooms on the house. Right. More programs, right? That’s right. And we haven’t taken care of that. And at some point, it’s all going to crumble down. And here, it’s very applicable to what we’re talking about. They can attack the grid. And by the way, they don’t even have to do it that way. They could all do it through the computer software, the hacking, and all of that. They could even set up AI to work against you through hacking and stuff. I mean, that’s why I believe Trump is in such a big push to be the leader of AI, because He who runs the information or rules the information rules the world, right? And so he’s got to be ahead of that because if he gets behind that, yeah, you give all the power.
SPEAKER 07 :
And for those of you listening, keep in mind that the majority of our domestic water supply coast to coast, I don’t know if anybody really thinks through this, Bill, but Our domestic water supply, yeah, there is some situations where cities have tanks that are, you know, water tanks and it’s covered and there’s really no access to that water and so on. But you look at the majority of the water that we as a country rely on, it’s open, Bill. In other words, the ability to contaminate our water supplies through, you know, drones and things like that. And again, I’m not saying anything that others haven’t already thought about, Bill, but the reality is the ability to affect a widespread group of people is very easy when it’s all said and done.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, and I don’t know. I’m sure there’s some chemical advancements that even if you just dropped it down the toilet and it went through the treatment plant, that it would still get into the system somehow. I think it could bypass all that stuff. I think there was one time they were saying that if they took a just a small vial of anthrax or something and threw it in like the city water fountain, you know, that is in the city park that it could have the potential of, of wrecking havoc on the whole tire supply. So, you know, it’s, Listen, they’re way smarter than you and I are, John.
SPEAKER 07 :
Let’s just put it that way. Good point. No, these guys, for all of you listening, these guys have thought through all sorts of things. And I think at the moment, I think we do a pretty good job of keeping those things at bay. We saw what the FBI uncovered when it came to basically the cell phone grid attack they were trying to do in New York City. So I do think that we do… at least now with this administration, have our ears to the ground, are listening a lot better, really doing a lot more to try to keep us safe. But keep in mind, I think this is really important for people to realize, when you do the things that Trump has done and you start shutting those borders down and you go in and take care of Venezuela and you’re now going to probably go in and and have to handle iran in some way shape or form and have already done that to a degree by taking out their nuclear facilities i mean at the end of the day bill we are a much bigger target now than we were prior because the last administration let’s face it they were letting these guys run around willy-nilly why would you want to attack that administration they’re giving you free reign to pretty much do whatever you want to well now that the you know basically the gloves are off and things have tightened up drastically Yeah, I think right now, and I’m not trying to scare anybody, Bill, but we’re a larger target now than we were a year or two ago.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, absolutely. You know, you can think of it this way. You know, you’ve got the hornet’s nest. Yeah, the hornets are flying around your picnic table, not really messing with you. But the moment you go try to kick that thing down, you go hit it, and the war is on, right? And also, too, they’ve got great memories. And a lot of these guys have great patience, right? China’s got great patience.
SPEAKER 07 :
True.
SPEAKER 09 :
And, yes, they may wait. they may wait for a weaker new president to come in and go, yeah, what’s he going to do? Let’s pay back time. So we don’t really know. I’m truly, truly, and I kind of texted you this. I think earlier this week or whatever, but I’m truly nervous about the midterms because if that all flips like it traditionally does, he’s going to be handicapped for the last two years of his term. He’s not going to be able to do much because he’s going to be fighting Congress and the Senate, the House and the Senate. Right.

Well, and that’s why – and I talk about this during the day a lot, not to get off track here on Ready Radio, but that’s why I feel that you’ve got individuals like Jerome Powell not lowering interest rates like they could have done, not really wanting the economy to get on track. I get it that the Trump administration, Besant and others are working around – the Fed and trying to get some things done to get the economy going. But there was a survey that just came out today that, you know, two out of three Americans don’t think Donald Trump has done enough to lower food prices at the grocery store. Now, again, these are uneducated, low information voters that don’t understand how the economy works in the first place. But the reality, Bill, is they’re not happy. And if we don’t get that happiness, you know, changed around, you’re right, it is going to be tough during the midterms.
SPEAKER 09 :
It is. And so that same philosophy, John, what you just said, people aren’t smart enough to really realize what’s going on. Right? Right. When you go take that hornet down, it’s going to get bad before it gets better. That’s right. Right? It will. But that same philosophy is your neighbor going, my kids are starving. He has power. Let’s go. Right. That’s not fair. That’s not democratic. That’s not fair. That’s not the American way. You have to share everything you have. Right.
SPEAKER 07 :
Okay, so let’s walk through that scenario. Let’s walk through that scenario to where you’re that person, you’ve thought ahead, you’ve got the ability to have some, you know, fresh water and the lights are on. And even though you’re being careful about when you turn lights on, or maybe you’re not even turning lights on, but you’ve got things that you’re powering up, you’ve got heat, you know, when you’re For all of you listening, by the way, there are heat signatures. So if you’re on a day like today where you start dropping into the 30s and all of a sudden your furnace is running, even though there’s no lights in the house on, Bill, it doesn’t take much but a naked eye to determine, well, wait a minute, there’s heat coming out of that house. Well, they must have gas in power or propane in power or whatever the case may be. You might not have a single light in the house on, but trust me, they’re going to know you’ve got heat.
SPEAKER 09 :
That comes through the exhaust on your roof. Correct.
SPEAKER 07 :
They’re going to know. I mean, it doesn’t take much to figure out with the steam in some cases that’s coming out because especially these high-efficiency furnaces where literally about the only thing coming out is steam, they’re going to know, Bill.
SPEAKER 09 :
They’re going to see it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, you know, and here’s the other thing, too, because I know a lot of people listening are going to go, well, that’s why I have bullets. That’s why I have my gun. Yeah, that’s only going to last you so long, too, because, you know, there’s also a point where they’re going to shoot back, you know, and you’re going to run out of ammo before you shoot everybody. You know, it’s just not possible.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, so then you start asking the question. Maybe this is another conversation for another day. I mean, there’s only so much you can do. to fortify your home. Some of you have full brick homes. Some of you have stucco homes. Some of you have just regular siding-type homes. Some of you might not even live in a home. You live in an apartment complex or whatever the case may be. Reality, Bill, is unless you prepare ahead of time, that’s what this program is about, unless you prepare ahead of time, every home has windows. Some have huge windows even. I mean, okay, at the end of the day, what are you going to do to protect yourself against those things?
SPEAKER 09 :
And all of these things, again, are bricks, right? Fortifying my home, making sure I’ve got enough blankets and whatever to stay warm if I don’t have a source to turn on. You know, all of these are bricks. And so the whole idea is this. Maybe instead of trying to maintain a certain standard of living during a blackout, okay, because you’re not going to be able to. You’re not going to be able to power your whole home, watch all your TV because whatever. I just looked at my battery wall and it’s on shutdown right now because there’s a red flag warning for fire. And I’ve got to go in there and figure out how to override that system. But it’s on emergency backup power because that’s what my battery does. It’s tied to the weather report. And when it gets a weather alert, it will conserve all the energy in the battery. It will use it to offset my home in case there’s a power outage because then that’s the emergency. I don’t like that. I don’t need that. I’ve got a generator. That’s what that’s for. Give me the power on the stupid battery. Right, right, right. Anyway, the whole point is instead of trying to make sure I bring all the power consumption that I’m going to have up to that lead, maybe I just need to start thinking, okay, how can I live and exist without it? And that’s what I’m talking about. That’s the heart here because, hey, I may not be able to provide generator solar batteries, whatever it may be, to continue life as I know it. because I’m going to run out of fuel, right? I might not have sun. I might not have wind. I might not have the resources to buy these things to begin with. I might be in an apartment. There’s no way I could have done that. You know, I’ve only got so much charge on my little Jackery or whatever it is. And plus now I throw in, Hey, I’m putting signals out. Now people are going to start coming to my house. So guess what? That’s not the answer. So the answer is, is how can I start to, you know, hedge my, the deeds that I have, Water, food, heat. Right. Those kind of things.
SPEAKER 07 :
I think, too, the other thing to look at with all of this, Bill, is – and this is where – and we’ve talked about this before when it comes to the community end of things. And for some of you listening, some of that may be, okay, do you have family that may end up showing up at your house? And if that’s the case, what’s their capabilities? Can they help defend your particular property if it comes to that? If you don’t have that, do you have others that you may end up teaming up with when it’s all said and done? Right. Have you had that plan set in place on the front side? If something were to happen, how do you all get together? I mean, Bill, there’s a lot of moving pieces here that in a lot of cases you really have to think through on the front side because, you know, I can tell you right now, for me, and I’ll say this openly because most people know that I don’t have kids and nobody lives at home anymore. For me and my wife to defend what I have, Bill, that’s almost an impossibility. It’s not going to happen.
SPEAKER 09 :
It’s impossible, John, because, yeah.
SPEAKER 07 :
You’re only two people.
SPEAKER 09 :
You can’t store all that stuff. No. And you only have two defensible possible positions. And if you have a whole mob surrounding your house, you’re not— You might as well just walk away.
SPEAKER 07 :
You might as well just turn it over and walk away because two people aren’t going to defend that.
SPEAKER 09 :
Even if you have millions and millions of bullets, you’ve only got two guns. You know what I’m saying? So, yeah, I can hear people, well, I can put in perimeter defenses and claymores. I mean, okay, you’re just being stupid at that point. You know what I’m saying? And you’re thinking the wrong way. The better thing to do, John, like I said, and here’s the thing, too. Personally, I struggle with this a little bit. Let’s be honest with you. You know, the whole community thing. And why do I struggle with the whole community thing? Because I don’t trust people. I mean, they’re your friend until they’re not, right? And, oh, man, we were saving at our house, too, but we had to get out. We couldn’t bring anything. So now you’re a liability on my supply.
SPEAKER 07 :
Right, right. Good point.
SPEAKER 09 :
And you didn’t bring anything. Good point. Or you got the family members that tell me all the time, well, I don’t need to prepare you. You are. We’re coming to your house. You know, now obviously I’m not going to reject my family, but I might reject my neighbor.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, and the key there would be, okay, and this is some of those meetings on the front side. It’s like, okay, you know what, I’m going to accept. You have no problem with that as long as you’re bringing XYZ to the table. In other words, this isn’t a free-for-all.
SPEAKER 09 :
Right, right. I just taught on Genesis 6. I’m in the middle of Genesis 6 on Wednesdays. And it’s interesting. Noah, he didn’t save the world, John. He didn’t save his neighbors. He saved his household. Mm-hmm. Good point. He saved his household, you know? So, I mean, do whatever you want with that, but, but I need to start thinking, okay, what other things do I have? Do I have a good stock of wool blankets? Do I have a good stock of candles? Do I have, you know, um, ways that I can cook, boil some water, you know, without having to go outside and make a fire or whatever. Maybe do I have my little jet boils or, or propane stoves or, or whatever. We’re just throwing out ideas and, and, You need to start thinking in principles. This is something that I teach in my self-defense classes all the time because everybody wants the cool technique. And here’s the reality of it. Technique will fail you at some point. Okay? The guy’s bigger. The guy’s stronger. The guy’s faster. The guy’s crazy. He’s spastic. You can’t use a technique on a spastic person, by the way. You can’t. So the fight changes. And so I have to think of principles. So instead of going generator, solar, wind, this, this, this, this, this, start thinking in principles. And I’m going to tell you, John, people lived pretty good lives for a long time before electricity was invented. They got along just fine. So maybe we need to look back. I’ve been doing this lately with diet. It’s like, you know, diet and fitness. It’s like, man, people were actually way more healthy than they were before they had Orange Theory and 24-Hour Fitness and all these special programs and diets and, you know, the keto diet.
SPEAKER 07 :
And by the way, they ate a lot less. I talk about that quite a bit during the week. Reality is they ate a lot less than we eat today.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, and they had times of fasting because, you know, there wasn’t nothing available. They didn’t have any choice. And then they feasted, and then they fasted. And the point is, you go back into, like, the 50s and 60s, and, you know, it was pretty rare. I mean, if somebody was overweight, they were part of a sideshow. True.
SPEAKER 07 :
Good point.
SPEAKER 09 :
Now, if you’re fit and trim, you’re the sideshow.
SPEAKER 07 :
True. Yeah, in fact, in some cases, you may be the one getting made fun of.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER 07 :
Great point.
SPEAKER 09 :
So my point is, John, we’ve got to think of principles, not necessarily techniques. Techniques come in, yes, don’t get me wrong, but techniques come in. And if we’re just running around looking for the next technique, the next gadget, the next whatever, you know, those things will fail you. Generators will fail you. Solar will fail you. Wind power will fail, you know, because there’s too many variables in all of those things, right? At some point, John, if it does get to that point, you know, even if I’ve got a natural gas or a propane generator whatever, generator, propane, you know, whatever, natural gas, at some point, the pressure from the plant is not going to be there. You know, yeah, they have the generators that run off the natural gas, and they kind of become self-running, if you will, but it’s like… Yeah, but here’s the other reality. If you’re in that situation, do you think that guy’s going to work, or do you think that guy’s taking care of his family?
SPEAKER 07 :
No, I’ve said that before. You take a lot of these emergency folk that would even be at some of the wastewater treatment plants and things like that, because, by the way, those will go offline at some point as well, and then sewer starts backing up and so on, which a lot of folks don’t even think about in these books, by the way, because eventually that even starts to happen, Bill. But, no, at the end of the day, you’re right. Those individuals, emergency responders and so on, folks that are even in the military and what, Yeah, they’re going home to take care of their own. That is one thing that these books get pretty right is the fact that when you need these emergency responders after about day five or six, reality is that once they realize that the crap really has hit the fan, they’re not doing their job anymore because they’ve gone home to their family. You’ll have a few single guys maybe floating around that don’t have anywhere else to go that might be willing to help. But at the end of the day, Bill, they’re not. The other thing that starts to happen, too, and I think this is something folks really need to keep in the back of your mind, even on thinking about even the natural gas and the lines and so on, Bill, the cells, you know, speaking of cells, the cells start to form where this anarchy starts to prevail, whereby survival of the fittest starts to happen and the person at the top ends up with everything. and they start accumulating things, and you’re now just even a bigger target because you have what they want. And by the way, that gas pipeline could very well even be diverted, and there might be other things that those particular individuals start to do. And the reality is it really becomes anarchic. I know that’s not probably a proper word, but, you know, anarchy starts to take hold, Bill, in a really fast fashion.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, it’s the old king of the hill.
SPEAKER 07 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 09 :
Right. It’s the game of king of the hill. Two others on top, everybody else wants to pull them down.
SPEAKER 07 :
And my point with that is, you know, meaning you could have done all of this preparation. You could have all these things done to your house. You could even have, you know, the ability to put bars on the windows, you know, in a moment’s notice and so on and so forth. You’ve really thought through all of this and you’re ready to defend your premises. Well, to your point a moment ago, you could even have half a dozen people inside of your home. Well, what if three doesn’t show up? I mean, again, Bill, at the end of the day, the person that’s the king of the hill there, they’ve got all this handled. They’ve got their, quote, unquote, deputies running around and their own little armed forces. And if you think for a second that you’re not going to be taken up with all of that, think again. You will be.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, absolutely. They’re going to come. And that’s just, you know, the best thing you can do is what we learned going into basic training. You know, just keep your head down, keep your mouth shut and just do what you got to do.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, and I think for everybody listening, this is where I want to go with some of this as well. If you end up being the only house on the block with lights on. And things really start to go awry or you can just start feeling, listen, there’s going to be some unrest. And, man, I don’t know how long we’re even going to be able to stay here. What’s your backup plan? In other words, if you had to bug out and leave your home because you know things are going to get to the point where you’re probably not going to be living there, somebody else will be that’s got a lot more power than you have, you know, power as in this little army running around. When that happens, because trust me, Bill, it will. Every one of these books I’ve read, I think the authors get that right. Those things happen because that’s human nature. It goes back to what you do in life. I mean, human nature takes over. That king of the hill mentality comes into play. Evil abounds. And that’s what happens during those times. So the reality is, okay, when that happens, if you find yourself in this scenario and that happens, what’s your backup plan when it’s all said and done?
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, and where you’re going to go and what you’re going to take with you, and do you have the means even at that point? I mean, we might be talking – you might be talking a couple weeks, a couple months maybe into the scenario before you’re thinking of leaving.
SPEAKER 07 :
And most of these books, I think they’re pretty accurate, Bill. Most of these books, it’s not months. It’s a couple of weeks and then maybe a month at best because once the world knows – that everything has gone to crap. I don’t know what else to use, whatever term to use. But once they all know that, man alive, Bill, it becomes a cancer quickly.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. And then you you’re traveling anywhere is very difficult. Absolutely. You know, all the stuff that, you know, I’m sure the streets are all plugged up.
SPEAKER 07 :
You know, in quote unquote, then what happens is the, you know, quote unquote, raiders are out that, by the way, work for the guy that’s king of the hill. And everyone again, I think every one of these books I’ve read is pretty accurate in that bill that somebody ends up rising to the top. could be the head of a local gang, could be the cartel, could be you name it. All sorts of things start to form when these things happen. Territories start to form. People start taking over certain parts of the city and the countryside and so on. And pretty soon everybody’s, you know, basically accountable to this one individual through various means. And then his quote-unquote raiders are out really looking for whatever else they can devour and bring back into the fold, if you would. So the reality is, yeah, traveling becomes very difficult because of what I just said.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah. So where are you going to go? You know, it really goes back to you’re going to have tribes all over the place. And which tribe are you going to be in? Correct. And things of that nature. But, yeah, in the books they talk about, hey, they close off overpasses and, you know, you can’t get through. Right. They take cover.
SPEAKER 07 :
Even though a lot of cars might even be dead in an EMP, they use those cars. They maneuver them around. They use them as roadblocks. They barricade things where even if you’ve got a running vehicle, you still can’t get through those particular things. So you might think far enough ahead to say, well, I’ve got a car that’s going to run no matter what. Okay. What if you end up running into what I just talked about a second ago, Bill? Okay, now you’ve got a running car, but you’ve now just run into a barricade, which, by the way, you may very well lose your car in said barricade, depending upon who’s running things. And again, this is one of these things that I think a lot of these books and authors get right, because man alive, anarchy does not take long to… to unfold. That’s, not to get off track here, Bill, but that’s some of the things that, you know, the Trump administration has to watch when it comes to Venezuela and Iran and so on. When that vacuum is created, it fills in quickly.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, yeah, exactly. That’s what they were, that’s what they talked about from the first time with Venezuela, that the wrong person got in there. They allowed that, you know, that guy that got in there, from my understanding, lost the election and was a sore loser and said, okay, I’ll just take it. Right. You know, whatever.
SPEAKER 07 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 09 :
I don’t, you know, whatever.
SPEAKER 07 :
Oh, you know, that’s pretty much what happened. I mean, the reality is, and we know, and it’s true throughout history, when that vacuum gets created, it fills in fast. And the point today, for all of you listening, and one of you brought this up, and I said I would talk about it today, and that is if you find yourself as the only house on the block with lights on, frankly – Not a good position to be in. In fact, I think you need to be really, really, really careful if that ends up being you. You’re better off convincing half a dozen of your neighbors to go ahead and do what you’re doing. So there’s a boatload of you doing this. I mean, the more the merrier in that particular scenario. In this case, you don’t want to be the only house on the block with the lights on.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, and that’s really important what you just said, you know, develop that fence with lots of fence posts. You know, that’s how you get a strong fence, not just one post trying to hold the load on everything because if you take out that one, the whole thing falls down. That’s right. But, hey, you got a generator, you got a generator, I got a generator. Okay, cool, now we can all run our generators together and, you know, we’re strong together as a community. And that can work. You know, when everybody is on the same page at the same level, that can work.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, because those marauders, like I was mentioning a moment ago, they start looking at that thinking, well, wait a minute. Because here’s how it works, Bill. You know this is human nature as well. They go for the easy pickings. You’re going to be way down on the list of places that they’re going to eventually go after because at the end of the day, they’re going to go after the places where nobody has done that. It’s that ease, if you would, Bill, and these guys aren’t any different. They’re going after the low-hanging fruit, the easy stuff first.
SPEAKER 09 :
Yeah, because, I mean, they’re in the same boat, right? That’s right. And one of the worst things to happen, you know, is, you know, you get cut and you get an infection and you die. You know, you get in a fight and your leg’s broke, your eye’s punched, whatever, and now you’re down. You’re compromised, you know? And this is when you were gone. This is one of the things, topics I talked about, how your health is probably your most important prep. Yeah, it is. You know? It is. Can I get up and… and throw a 50-pound rock and be able to walk a couple miles? Or can I pull somebody out? Or can I run if I have to? Can I fight if I have to? I mean, this is something that everybody takes for granted. And it’s time. You have to declare war on the sick and illness that you have in your body. Enough is enough. We’ve got to stop this. I’m really passionate about it, and it’s not that hard.
SPEAKER 07 :
No, and this is something, and I’ve done shows on this in the past for a lot of you listening, and there’s plenty of sources whereby you yourself could even stock up on some of the medical things that you might need in times of an emergency. For example, you may want to stock up on some extra, if you’re a diabetic, you might want some extra insulin if you are sick. Somebody, you know, you need some particular antibiotics and things along those lines, you know, medical kits and so on, Bill. These are things that, by the way, I think everybody should stock up on no matter what, because even in a regional situation, you may find yourself needing some of the things that I just mentioned. And fortunately, we live in a day and age now with the Internet whereby. it’s becoming easier to stock up on some of the things I just mentioned, Bill, where even prior to COVID, you were lucky to get any extra supply of anything because nobody was going to write your prescription for that. That has changed since then, luckily.
SPEAKER 09 :
That has changed, yeah, for sure. And here’s another thing, too, that I’ll throw into the mix because I think this is one of the other most important things you can do versus gadgets and gizmos. You need to learn skills. Yes. You need to learn skills. how to take care of stuff, right? I need to be able to go out there and look at that thing of mullein out there, that weed that everybody calls, and go, there’s medicine right there. And there’s medicine in those pine needles, and there’s medicine in this, you know, and that. And learning that, that is essential. And by the way, once you learn that, nobody, John, can take it away from you. Nobody can take away your knowledge, right? They could take away your generator, but they can’t take away your knowledge. And so the two biggest things, we’re so focused on gear, gizmos, gadgets. Get your health in order and start learning things. Because if you do go into that herbal medicine thing and you’re overweight and you’re sick, it’s not going to work as well for you. You’ve got to have a clean body for those herbs to work. And then when you have a clean body, those herbs will work better. That’s where all our medicine came from anyway.
SPEAKER 07 :
Great point. And by the way, for all of you listening, these are things that literally anybody can learn. It’s not that difficult. Plenty of information out there on how to do some of these things. Bill, maybe you and I in the near future can even do a few shows on some of these things and even direct people on the type of books and things. And by the way, when I say books, folks, I mean books. Something happens like this and the Internet is down. You need actual physical paper, you know, small books, large books. This is where you even have maps that are printed. You know, these sorts of things are very important because the Internet will be down at some point. Bill, we’ll do some of this stuff in the future. The hour flew by, as always.
