National Review Rich Lowry. writes that the left will never recover from Donald Trump. He shifted the Overton window and the culture away from woke, and it’s hard to imagine it’s shifting all the way back. Stock futures surged early today after a federal trade court struck down a broad array of tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, fueling optimism on Wall Street and sending tech stocks soaring. And I also have got to tackle this Jake Tapper story because I finally – I think I understand why some of you are infuriated at giving this guy and his book any additional attention. I saw a clip today that infuriated me. Jake Tapper sat down – with Stephen A. Smith, who’s kind of the bon vivant of ESPN. He’s the sports guy and he’s the politics guy and he’s Sean Hannity’s buddy and he’s a real bombastic broadcaster and very popular and very polarizing. And he hosted Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, the co-authors of this book about Biden’s cognitive decline and the cover-up that was associated with it. And Jake Tapper sat there and went through this whole laundry list of all the ways the Democrats have been lying. And not just about Joe Biden. Lying about COVID. Lying about the George Floyd riots. Jake Tapper sounded like he was one of the hosts on Salem News Channel. Jake Tapper sounds now like an absolute… Fox News Channel primetime host. And I’m watching this and finally I saw why you got mad. Because I got mad too. I’m watching this clip and I’m thinking, does he not know that there’s hours and hours of tape of him doing the very thing that he’s accusing the Democrat Party of doing? I mean, this is a pretty neat trick if you can pull it off. David Strom writes about it over at HotAir.com. This is pretty clever if you can pull this off. You punish, censor, debank, demonetize, slander, impose damaging and arbitrary rules that ruin lives and cause immeasurable harm, use your policies to gain political advantage, monetary gain, and when the grift gets exposed, shrug, say it was a minor error, and garner applause for your political bravery. Now, David Strom is writing about Pete Buttigieg because you know what Pete Buttigieg is saying now? He was asked, is there anything you could do, if you go back in time, what would you change about 2020? You know what Pete Buttigieg said? One of the chief proponents of the lockdowns? One of the absolute ambassadors of school closures? You know what he’s saying now? Gee, I wish we hadn’t closed the schools. I mean, this analysis about what the Democrats and the left is trying to do right now is just spot on. Oh, just shrug. It was a minor thing. I mean, I want you to hear this. I want to play these clips for you. And we’re just going to get it over with because I’m not going to spend any more time on Jake Tapper. You’re right. You’re right. I mean, I’ve been reading the book, and I got so infuriated in seeing this charlatan, this guy. I mean, you talk about a complete and utter fake. Now all the Democrats, they lied about the George Floyd riots. They lied about COVID. They lied about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline. And yet night after night, day after day on CNN, Jake Tapper himself was a part of all of it. And now he has seen the light? You’ve got to be kidding me. So thank you for reminding me about the complete reversal, the hypocrisy of so many. And look, Buttigieg is another example of that. I mean, I remember, I’m old enough to remember Democrats telling us that we would be complicit in the death of American children Because Ron DeSantis here in Florida wanted to open the schools early. Oh, he’s a killer! We had a clown show up at an event that I was part of where Ron DeSantis was to speak. And some moron unfolded some big banner and accused Ron DeSantis of being a killer because DeSantis didn’t want to shut down the entire state, schools included. And this jerk comes into our VIP reception, disrupts the event with a stupid banner that he held up saying Ron DeSantis is a killer. DeSantis got all ticked off at us. He was mad at the radio station. He was mad at me and he was mad at, you know, Job Creators Network that was sponsoring the event. He’s prickly anyway. You know, that’s just Ron DeSantis. And, you know… To his credit, he didn’t need to have a guy like that who bought a ticket for 50 or 100 bucks and walked in and made a fool of himself, unfurling a banner saying that DeSantis was a killer. But now those same clowns with the banners are turning around saying, well, we wish we’d opened the school. Listen to Pete Buttigieg and what he’s saying now about the COVID lockdowns in 2020.

We’re going to go back to like right after Biden gets the nomination in 2020. So, you know, you just endorsed him and you’re Pete from today and you get to talk to Pete from back then. What do you think you all should have done differently?

One, for the love of God, figure out a way to get the schools open sooner. We got very knee-jerk about this, and the costs were, not just politically, but in a profound way, I think for a generation, the costs were profound. And I think anybody who was involved, who was, by the way, obviously doing their best to deal with the crisis that killed a million Americans, but I think most people involved would like to be able to have found a way to safely get more schools open more quickly.

That was a great first answer. Turn it off. Can you believe that? Again, I saw that guy with the stupid banner. I remember Democrat politicians blasting Ron DeSantis. He’s going to kill people. He’s killing children. We’ve got to save the children. I remember that lunatic Randy Weingarten, that maniac head of the teachers’ union, shrieking about how she can’t risk her teachers’ lives by having them go teach in person. And now they’re turning around and they’re saying, oh, for the love of God, we should have opened the schools sooner. And it’s like Jake Tapper. This is what Jake Tapper is saying now. He’s on a tour to sell a book. And I’m going to tell you right now, this will be the last time I mention this guy. Because this clip that I saw on Stephen A. Smith’s podcast just did me in.

I don’t like what the Democrats did when it came to Joe Biden and hiding his limit, the limitations of his abilities. I do think that Democrats, obviously, their approval ratings are in the toilet. And I think that one of the reasons they are is because Democrats just spent four years arguing. that the border was fine uh inflation was not a problem and joe biden was up to the job and i think that four years of that message was really harmful i think there are other reasons too why democrats have uh damaged themselves not just democrats by the way but institutions in general the media health organizations universities etc having to do with um The failure to acknowledge certain realities, whether it’s having to do with riots after the George Floyd murder or having to do with COVID restrictions, shutting down schools, and on and on and on and on.

I think there are a lot of reasons. Turn it off. I can’t take any more of that because there’s a real simple question that somebody ought to ask Jake Tapper. Well, then why didn’t you raise any of this night after night, week after week, month after month, year after year? Why didn’t you raise any of this as you were attacking Laura Trump and insulting her and claiming that she was a mean-spirited bully who was mocking Joe Biden’s stutter when she dared to raise the very question that is the premise of your entire book? All she did was say what you said. She just did it way before you decided to make money on a book for it. And you accused her of being cruel and inhuman and mocking us. Do you know how children feel who have a stutter that you are saying such a thing? Does he not think that there’s a body of his work for the ages? The reason he didn’t, you know, Texas just said it right on the text line. The reason he didn’t raise it on CNN ever is because he didn’t have any money to make on a book. He was drawing a salary as a CNN host. Now he wants to make money on a book. And he’s completely reversed himself. And it’s putrid. It’s really disgusting. So you’re right. It was a clear reference to… It was a Broadway show. I was listening to some album. I forget. I think it might have been in the new musical Boop. And there’s a lyric in there about 86ing. Incidentally, speaking of Broadway, Patti LuPone is in a world of hot water. She’s a Broadway diva. Remember her from the TV show Eight is Enough? Well, she’s this brassy, sassy, big-mouth, Trump-hating… you know, Broadway diva. And she just takes on everybody. And she was on the red carpet once a few years ago. And somehow it came up, would you ever perform at the White House? And she said, I would never perform for Trump. I hate the MF-er. Ha, ha, ha, ha. Because that’s how she rolls, right? That’s who she is. Well, now she gave a big interview to some New York magazine. I think it was actually, it was New York, maybe New Yorker or New York Magazine, one of the others. And she said, kind of attacked two Broadway-leading ladies who happened to be women of color, Audra McDonald and Keisha, I forget her last name, who starred in the Alicia Keys musical. Oh, what’s it called? Oh, drawn a blank. Hell’s Kitchen. Hell’s Kitchen. So Patti LuPone was in a play. This is so funny. I’ve got to share this with you. And I know it’s Broadway Mike and you roll your eyes at my theater stories, but this is hysterical. So Patti LuPone’s in a play at the theater that’s adjacent to the Schubert where Hell’s Kitchen is taking place. And Hell’s Kitchen is a big, loud, successful musical based on the music of Alicia Keys. Patti LuPone is in a straight play. I think she was in a play with, I think it was with Mia Farrow. But they don’t have any music. You know, it’s a play. It’s the roommate, right? Well, they share a wall with the Schubert, and the music is bleeding through into Patti LuPone’s show. Well, she’s furious because she’s a big diva, right? So she’s angry at the noise from the orchestra in the next theater. So she complains. And, you know, it’s Patti LuPone, right? Oh, we’ve got to turn the music down. Well, then the actress who’s playing the lead in Hell’s Kitchen… called it a microaggression, and it was essentially racist because you got a white woman telling a black actress and a musical with a lot of people of color to basically pipe down. You’re too loud. You black people are being too loud. Now, that isn’t what Patti LuPone said. She just said the music is too loud, and you’re interfering with our precious production. So then that turned into a race thing, right? So this week, a big article about Patti LuPone gets published in, I think it’s New York, or New Yorker. And in it, Patti LuPone not only calls the young actress, who’s a Broadway veteran, she’s got a lot of Broadway credits in Hell’s Kitchen, the B word. She also was asked about Audra McDonald, who’s one of the most prolific Broadway stars of all time, What did you think of her performance in Gypsy, which she is currently starring in on Broadway? Now, Patti LuPone played Mama Rose years ago in Gypsy. So according to the article, she bad-mouthed Audra McDonald. So here’s a loud-mouthed, foul-mouthed, obnoxious leftist actress named Patti LuPone who decided to attack two other actresses who happen to both be women of color. Two black women. Well, you don’t do that. And now they’re trying to cancel Patti LuPone. Now the left is eating its own. They’re furious at Patti LuPone because she bad-mouthed these two really, really talented, terrific actresses, Audra McDonald and Keisha Lewis. Because, you know, you call one the B word, and you’re telling the – apparently the reporter asked Patty, well, what did you think of Audrey McDonald’s performance in Gypsy? And Patty LuPone supposedly stared at the reporter for like 20 seconds and then looked out the window and said, my, isn’t it a beautiful day out? So she’s attacking. And Patti LuPone, there’s all these stories of her whole – this is the way she’s always been. She got fired from the musical Sunset Boulevard. She got dumped for Glenn Close. She was playing the rollover in London, and Andrew Lloyd Webber – became infatuated with Glenn Close to play Norma Desmond. And they decided to hire Glenn Close instead of Patti LuPone. Patti LuPone was supposed to transfer from the West End to New York. Well, she was in the middle of the performance in the West End in London when she found out that Glenn Close got the gig. And when Patti LuPone found out that Glenn Close got hired, she famously demolished her dressing room. She broke all the mirrors and the lamps and the… I mean, the woman is, you know, a kook, but she’s a talented kook. She’s really a powerhouse, but now they’re trying to cancel her. There’s a young man named Scott Pressler who goes by the Persistence on X. And you’ve probably seen him. He’s a big, tall guy with long hair. And he goes out and is kind of a one-man machine. registering people to vote. And it’s people like Scott and, of course, our colleague and friend Charlie Kirk and many others who are just warriors. They are in the trenches, getting people registered to vote, convincing young people that our way is the better way. And Scott posted something today that I think should resonate throughout the land. And if you’ve seen Scott, and I’ve interviewed him on a number of occasions over the years, he is very persistent, and he is just fearless, and he’s very humble, kind. He seems like a really good guy. And he wrote on X Today a warning to Republicans. He said, I’m on the ground every single day talking to voters. If Republicans don’t get their act together to codify President Trump’s agenda, doge, no tax on Social Security, you will lose the midterm elections. I say this peacefully and professionally. He is absolutely 100% correct. You know, yesterday, Trump’s tariffs were dealt a real setback by this three-judge panel. called the Court of International Trade. I heard a lot of analysis over the last 12 hours about it. Heard a great interview on Chris DeGaulle’s show this morning on the Salem News Channel and Salem Radio Network. Smart guy from Heritage saying, look, you can’t always scream that these are activist judges. In this case, you had a Reagan appointee, a Trump appointee, and an Obama appointee on this little-noticed Court of International Trade. And they declared… that Trump’s global tariffs are illegal. Now, Trump has, as the guest told Chris and the audience, lots of levers to pull, lots of other paths. This is far from over. If you think the tariffs are dead, you’re delusional. They’re not. But to Scott Pressler’s point, Republicans have to control what we can control. And this is what so many of you are saying to me over and over again. I get it in text messages. I get it in phone calls. I get it in emails. I get it when I speak in groups and I meet people in public. Republicans better not blow it. Because Trump and the administration is up against this buzzsaw of a judiciary effort to stop his agenda. We understand that. It’s all they’ve got. The only way they can credit, they lost the election and they can’t get over it. They’ve lost young people and they can’t get over it. You ought to see some of the characters they’re trying to cobble together to win over young Democrat voters. Good luck with all of that. Look, Republicans have to control what they are able to control. We better see no tax on Social Security. That was a promise. That’s part of Trump’s mandate. Doge was a promise. Doge has been enormously popular. And I fear we have too many Republican representatives who are immersed in the swamp and they don’t know any better. They don’t know any other way other than to be in the deep state and to be establishment politicians who don’t deliver the Trump agenda. You know, I’ve been urging unity. But we also have to remember that Republicans cannot fail us. And it’s all on Congress right now. Here’s Senator Ron Johnson on Fox Business Network pointing out, and he’s been sounding the alarm about irresponsible spending and increasing the deficit. Here he was on Fox Business yesterday.

Those have shown us the way. You have to go line by line, contract by contract. I think a small business probably spends more time going line by line through its budget than Congress does through a $7,000 billion a year budget. Again, we do it the same way. Most things are off budget. 75% of the budget is mandatory spending. We can address that. in reconciliation. I would ask the question, where are the rescission packages so we can codify the Doge savings? I’m listening to Elon Musk over the weekend, pretty disappointed in this House package as well. If I were him and all the work he put into Doge, and yeah, we maybe stop spending the money, but I don’t know if they can eliminate it by impoundment. That’s going to be subject to the courts. We need to actually incorporate that into rescission packages so we can eliminate that spending.

I’ve completely taken Medicare and Social Security off the table when I do those pre-pandemic options. Listen, we need to reform the Obamacare portion of Medicaid. That’s what’s putting at risk Medicaid for the vulnerable, for disabled children. Again, we’re all going to repeal and replace Obamacare, but now people are defending it. But again, you can even eliminate Medicaid, I’ve shown that, and there’s still hundreds of billions of dollars, a couple hundred billion in discretionary, a couple hundred billion in other mandatory. There’s above and beyond 2019 outlays plus up for population inflation, fully inflated 2019. There’s literally about $400 to $500 billion. of spending that’s above those levels. So again, go back there as a business person. This would be a five-minute conversation in a business. Say, guys, I told you you could increase your budget based on inflation and the number of customers we serve. You’re 10% above that. Cut it. Get back down to a reasonable level. We need President Trump to lead on this. He needs to be fully committed to not funding the deep state at President Biden’s levels.

Don’t lose faith. Don’t give up. Don’t give up on America. And don’t forget we’ve got the Supreme Court. Good news out of the court today. Moments ago, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that a federal agency had done enough to consider the environmental impact of a proposed 88-mile railway in Utah. The environmentalists were trying to stop it. In fact, a lower court ruled in favor of the environmentalists. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, of course, ruled for the leftist environmentalists. Well, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the federal agency had done enough to consider the environmental impact and the 88-mile railway in Utah will proceed, which is real good news. because it’s a reminder that the Supreme Court, even with all of its challenges and the questions we have about Amy Coney Barrett and John Roberts, the Supreme Court still is the ultimate arbiter. This railway is going to connect oil fields in northeast Utah to a national rail network that runs next to the Colorado River and then to refineries on the Gulf Coast. And so now that’s going to proceed thanks to the Supreme Court. But back to Scott Pressler’s warning. We’ve got to get this big, beautiful bill passed. Trump’s agenda has to get codified. It has to pass. If not, and everything is headed in our direction. Consumer confidence soaring. Trump’s approval ratings are going up. They never want to tell you about that, but they are. Across the board. Even polls that are not particularly favorable for Donald Trump. They’re going up. Americans like what they see. They do not like Congress gumming up the works. So Ron Johnson, who we’re reaching out to as we speak, I want to try to get Senator Johnson on the show because ultimately Republicans have to get their act together. And I think Ron Johnson is kind of turning into a truth teller in the U.S. Senate. I am a believer in unanimity. I am a believer in circling the wagons. We’ve got the votes. We’ve got the seats. We’ve got the majority. Don’t blow it, Republicans. Do not blow it. And final point before I open up the phones. There’s a part of me that worries that some of these Republicans, particularly in the U.S. Senate, are intentionally sabotaging the Trump agenda. That’s something that we’re going to have to contend with. And I don’t know what you’d do about that other than try to vote him out the next time, but the next time could be too late. Oh, hi, Mike. Here’s my suggestion of what we need to do, or like you say, we won’t be the great nation we were meant to be. We need to look to what the revolution. I mean, for 150 years of our history, our politics were within the establishment of the British crown. But then we decided that that wasn’t good for the colonial interest. So we revolted against the crown establishment and did radical acts to become a nation, a free and independent nation. Now MAGA is doing the same thing. It’s making American politics independent from the establishment, the elites and the wealthy. And we’ve got to go against them because they seek only their own interests and not the welfare of the country. And I think we’ve got to do this radical thing. But only a small percentage of Americans were back in 1976. Now we’ve got to do it again, but it’s a small minority that has to bend history.

Well, this is my fear. I mean, I wonder what you think about my point that there are probably more than a few Republicans who are secretly trying to torpedo the Trump agenda. Do you agree with that?
